100 lb. Club - Two-teens into Onederland - So close you could scream

I started a new thread because our old one was getting pretty long.

I'm still on the high-end of my two-teens and haven't seen the single digits in more than a month. My exercise regime is much more intense (yay!) but my eating has been out of whack. I am really mindful during the day but the Cute Boyfriend has been in San Francisco for the last three weeks, making me a single mom during the week (he's home on weekends). And being stuck in the house once she goes to bed (7PM) has been BORING. My plan was to do one of my workout videos once she went down but it's been SO HOT that I've just vegged out... oh and ATE.

My goal this week is simple. Same exercise regiment, on plan eating once I get home from work. That should be easy, right?! Sigh.

You can do it! Find something to keep your hands busy, that helps me. Some people swear by crafting or cross stitch where you literally can't do that and eat, it'll get the project dirty.

Thedollylala -- I know what you're saying. I'm now at a weight I was at in my early 20s (I'm 41) and my body is TOTALLY different.

I have popped up above 220 (220.6) but I know it is period weight and will be off in a few days, so I'm staying here. I ran my first 10k on Sunday. Did ok. I have been thinking a lot about what it will be like to race at less than 200 lbs.

I'm at 211.4! I don't remember being below 200 since middle school, as far as I know. I never really weighed myself. At any rate, as an adult I definitely have never been under 200.

It's funny, people ask me now that I'm losing weight, "Are you able to fit into all of your old clothes now?" I have NEVER had clothes this small before. I shopped at a normal store the last time I did a big summer shopping spree. It's the first time I can ever remember doing that.

Flap jack stomach fluff is now my favorite description in the world. Boo for the fluff. I think it's probably a little of both.

I have popped up above 220 and I can't find any reasonable explanation. I ran yesterday, ate on plan, etc. I should be whooshing through these pounds. I know I am probably gaining muscle BLAH BLAH BLAH. The scale is going the wrong direction! :)

You and I both! I tried on bridemaids dresses at David's Bridal last weekend and I am a size 16. I also bough my prom dress from David's Bridal in 2002. I wore a size 18 then.

Sometime I really struggle with the idea of a goal weight. I randomly picked 175 when I started. Now I'm really focused on getting below 186, as that would make me overweight when you consider BMI. I'd eventually like to be at 165, so I can say I lost 100 lbs. I have no idea what I will look like at any of these weights. The lowest weight I can remember was 190 and that's after losing over 20 lbs my freshman year of college. Sometimes I think my goal is to wear a size 10, because that seems like "normal" size to me.

I'm still crashing this party -- I'm 222 today but I am sure it is pms weight and also maybe a pound from vacation eating. It'll be off next week.

I started working with a personal trainer in preparation for my half-marathon in October and today I am *very* sore. She's got me doing lots of squats and lunges and ab work and planks. Maybe there's a little bit of water retention as my muscles repair themselves as well.

Good idea, Underwater!

Today I went on my 6th 3-mile run. Let me tell you how proud I am! AND I got a blister and I kept running! Superhero right now. :)

My weight is at the low-end of my "bounces" (apparently I either weight 220 or 214 but nothing else). But I have renewed strength every time I run so I'm hoping we'll see a downward tend next week!

I have been listening to this audiobook called Habits during my runs about how we make habits and how they can be ruined/reinforced, etc. It's pretty interesting. I recommend it.

Finally back to being a legitimate member of this thread. 219.5 today.

Everybody seems to be doing so well. I feel pretty alright with where I am weight-loss and fitness-wise. Ran 8 miles on Monday, will probably do it again on Sunday.

203 is my next big goal, because that would be the transition from obese BMI to overweight BMI. One other goal that I am really close to is weighing less than my husband. He's been at about 212. I have never weighed less than him, even though he's been as much as 30lbs heavier than that. But now that I get close to it, it doesn't really matter to me. I can still joke about feeding him cheesecake to make my goal easier, though:devil:

I'm at 214 (STILL). I hired a trainer for the month of September. Our first session starts wednesday. I'm excited.

I have the most KILLER head cold right now. I didn't run on Monday. That's how bad it was! UGH. I hope this gets better soon.

Not at all!

This trainer is running an introductory special of $199/month for 3 times a week. She's brand new to the area so this is an INSANE bargain. The YMCA (where I am a member) charges $43/session.

I had to postpone my start date because my grandmother passed away and I am flying out of town but I will keep you informed as soon as I start!

I just started working with a trainer as well to help me get ready for my half-marathon, which is in 6 (eek!) weeks.

I pay $300 for 10 half-hour sessions. This is a pretty good price. I do a new workout every Wednesday with the trainer and then repeat it on my own on Mondays and Fridays. Mostly body-weight strength training. Hey, there's one advantage to being heavy :)

I'm working out a lot lately, but not being as disciplined with my eating as I should be. Next week I'm going to do an 11 day low-calorie diet and try to get off a few pounds to prep for the race. I do this about once a quarter and it helps me to shake out of my plateaus, but it is definitely not sustainable for me.

The working out has really been making me feel stronger lately. It also feels good to be achieving something tangible if the weight loss is slow.

Jessica and defenestrator - those sound like amazing programs! I signed up for my first-ever exercise class, it is beginning Pilates, for 12 weeks ($55 for the entire program). I am sort of nervous. I imagine I will be the only "big person" in class, but I hope I stick with it.

Strawberry -- don't worry about being bigger than everyone else in the class. My experience has been that either nobody cares or that it becomes a point of pride, a la , "I just did 20 pushups and the person next to me who weighs 100 less couldn't do it." Have fun!

I'm finally in the two-teens! I got here once back in June, but unfortunately it was short lived. It took me all this time to get back. But I'm pretty sure I'm here to stay. I hit 216 this morning and I never want to see the 220's ever again. Onederland has never felt so close. I haven't weighed this little since high school. I'm fatter now, though. Having kids will do that to you. I'm so happy to be here!

I almost made it! Yesterday I weighed in at 199.8. I was on top of the world! Feeling super motivated, I got in a great workout & stayed fully on plan with nutrition. But this morning I was back to 200.1. I know .3 is a small amount, but that .3 crushed my onederland high!

I had my "introductory Pilates" course and I stink at it. However, parts of me are sore that have never been sore before, so I guess I can stand to build a lot of muscle. My flexibility is OK, but I don't have a great sense of balance.

I've been spending the first week of most of my new exercises in my personal training falling down, but it's amazing how quickly they become easy for me if I keep going. That'll happen for you too.

I have a triathlon on Sunday. Part of me is really looking forward to it. The other part of me is annoying that the start time is so early! BAH. But I'll do it and then I will be happy with myself. It will be my fourth! I think my fifth will need to be Olympic length. Yikes!

The half-marathon today was pretty amazing. I didn't quite get my goal of 2:30 -- I did 2:32 instead. But I felt pretty great about finishing it, and I passed an awful lot of people younger and skinnier than me!

Hey Guys, remember me? I went off to Hawaii for a week on 9/1 and haven't really visited since. I gained about 4 lbs in Hawaii and went from 207 to 211 and have been fighting with those lbs every since.

Well, I'm back and I'm proud to say I feel like I beat that plateau. I weighed in this morning at 204.2. I'm 5 lbs from onederland- 5 lbs!!! I can do this!

I'm going away for the next 2 weekends and then for a week over Thanksgiving. It won't be easy, but I can do it!

In other news, I went to Great America theme park last weekend and rode EVERY SINGLE ROLLER COASTER. It was really an amazing feeling to not feel restricted by my size. By the 2nd to last one, my husband was feeling queezy so I rode the last 2 by myself, just to say I did it haha :)

Started the week off at 216, middle part of the week I hit 212.12oz. Today Weigh-in 212.07oz. Total lost for this week 4 pounds.

Gosh I know what you mean about not having energy during that time of month. But what I find is....I just have to do it! I get up and exercise anyways. I may not go as hard as I normally do but I get my butt up and do it. This really does help my energy levels in the end. Use that mind to get you going! Sometimes it can be a mental thing. :)

I remember when I went to Disney World back in 2010 and I was worried about the same thing (I was around 225 back then). Luckily I didn't have any problems but I don't even want to have to worry about it! That's awesome that you had no problems with the rides! And great job on breaking that plateau! You are so close!! :)

That's awesome! I'm not in this group yet but I've been stalking your thread. Two years ago I went to Six Flags America and had to get off of the Superman ride because the bar wouldn't go down. Completely humiliating.

Fatness remember that you don't have to go all out all of the time. Listen to your body. If it needs a lighter workout or it needs to rest, then do so. We are in a marathon and only competing against ourselves!!! :hug: Good luck sweetie!

Fatness remember that you don't have to go all out all of the time. Listen to your body. If it needs a lighter workout or it needs to rest, then do so. We are in a marathon and only competing against ourselves!!! :hug: Good luck sweetie!

I do also agree with this! Sometimes we do need to get over mental blocks, but other times we just need a REST! I'm an advocate of this too. When I first started my journey, I went 9 weeks of exercising 6 days a week, then I took a 2 week break from exercise. It didn't affect my weight loss either.

Thanks so much and I will do just that listen to the body! That is one of my problems. I ignore how my body feels and keep pushing it. I need to stop doing that and just relax sometimes.:hug:

Hey Guys, remember me? I went off to Hawaii for a week on 9/1 and haven't really visited since. I gained about 4 lbs in Hawaii and went from 207 to 211 and have been fighting with those lbs every since.

Well, I'm back and I'm proud to say I feel like I beat that plateau. I weighed in this morning at 204.2. I'm 5 lbs from onederland- 5 lbs!!! I can do this!

I'm going away for the next 2 weekends and then for a week over Thanksgiving. It won't be easy, but I can do it!

In other news, I went to Great America theme park last weekend and rode EVERY SINGLE ROLLER COASTER. It was really an amazing feeling to not feel restricted by my size. By the 2nd to last one, my husband was feeling queezy so I rode the last 2 by myself, just to say I did it haha :)

Also- welcome newcomers!

HI all, Just wanted to add myself to the thread conversation :) I officially am in the two-teens (:carrot:) I'm extremely happy about it! How's everyone's weekend going?


Because I'm so use to losing 3 -4 pounds a week. However, this week I have made it to 210. So I lost 2 pounds. I have 3 more days and I will try to lose another pound. If not, I have next week. I will also start to relax more and stop forcing myself to workout when I am tired. Thanks for all your advice it really helped me.

My weekend is good; storm. sandy is here and my lights been going off and on all night of yesterday and today. The strong winds and rain is keeping me in the house; however, if it slack up I will go to the gym!. Right now I'm here cooking my hubby some pork ribs with honey BBQ with mash potatoes, cabbage and berry corn bread.

How is your weekend?

My week was awesome, went to some halloween parties and danced (I count that as my exercise Lol).

Halloween party Awesome! I never been to one before! Please share photos if you have.

Earthquakes is one reason I won't go to LA. Lol.. That scares the **** out of me! Sandy is just bringing the rain; however, it has not even reach yet! Plantfitness was closed yesterday and today because of Sandy! Darn Sandy! stuck in the house with my habebe and he is playing Grand theft auto. Like its his first game! Lol..

Yesterday I notice my stomach look different and it scared me and still does. I wanted to go to ER. My habebe said it looks that way because I am losing weight. It's like my stomach sinked in on both sides of my waist and now the fat is more to the middle instead of all over. However, it scared me to the point I started to cry last night. Will be back later.. I will be in the house all day!

I eat a lot of salads. Salad is for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack. Even when I am bored I eat salad. Sometimes I eat salad with dressing, but most of the time it's with oil and vinegar. There are times when I do eat steam crab.

ex: Today I will eat panera tomato soup one cup, then eat salad, then drink some plum juice after it. By 7pm will eat again; which is more salad, and 3 king crab legs without butter. I do not use any sauce with my crab. I just get them steam with old bay seasoning at Farm fresh. I do not eat my salad in a bowl. I eat it out of a salad container that I get at Farm Fresh; when I make my salad at the (salad bar) also I have cut out meat, but today I had 3 party hot wings. By 10pm I have already ate 1550 calories then head to gym for 2 hrs which burns off 1,323. I do this 7 days a week.

I believe you can eat those cookies; but you have to burn it off later. I stay away from cookies, because most of the times 2 cookies are 120-160c. And I want more then 2 cookies. Lol..:D

I don't know how your body works; but I l found out I lose weight faster when I eat salads only but salads are so boring! Lol

Another thing I know.. If you want to eat those cookies and don't worry about it. Workout for 1hr before you eat anything and try to burn at least 600c.; which gives you more calorie intake for that day. I personally do this myself; when I am going to baby showers and weddings.

Fatness - I also feel like hitting 199 is "crossing over" LOL! I feel like it's a downhill slope from that point. Sometimes being over 200 makes it feel like my goal is so far away...but once I no longer have a 2 in front, it feels like "I'm almost there"! :)

Hey aka8941 -- I see you're training for a half-marathon. I just ran one two weeks ago. It was pretty amazing. I took a week off of training but now I'm back at it.

I had a bit stall in my weight loss as I was finishing up my half-marathon plan. I haven't really lost any weight since August. But this week I'm focusing on reducing my calories to 1400-1500 and it seems like the scale is moving again. I've lost 2 lbs this week.

I set a goal with my trainer to be below 200lbs by the end of January. It seems really far away now, but I think that with the holidays setting the goal low is a good idea. Then I want to be at goal by the end of next year.

Going to the trainer is really changing my lower body. I'm super-muscular now. It feels good to be stronger.

Hello ladies.. Went on my prune juice fast this weekend because I had ate some Hot wings early in the week. those hot wings did not want to leave me . However, my scale has moved and I'm 206 now. I am feeling good and I can't wait to see 198! Jimmy cricket.... I do believe that if I keep working out and don't eat any meat; I can reach that mark by the end of this month.

Yea.. There are a lot of military families here in the Hampton roads area. So, you will fit right in. Lol.. Yea.. Those hot wings were so good. I have been wanting a pizza all day.. Thank god it's to late to order! Lol...
Weigh-in is Monday for the new yr challenge. Just weighed myself and the scaled said 205.10oz will see Monday! Cross fingers...

angieand2girls - Yay! Another VA girl soon! I just moved here last summer and I love it! I only started taking advantage of all the stuff to do outdoors in the past couple months... Now it's too cold... But next summer I plan on being a hiking fool.

ChickieBoom - Get the scale!! I sometimes dread getting on mine after the weekend 'cause that's usually when I put on some weight, but even seeing a number I'm not happy with is good because it strengthens my resolve to push myself for the day.

I didn't do anything this weekend and was worried I might see an increase from Friday's low of 215.8, but I hopped on this morning and I'm still at that number!! I ate pretty good this weekend even though I didn't work out at all, though. Back to the treadmill I go!

I am in a size 16 and I tell you it feel good to be in a 16. While, some want to get out of the 16 rang I am happy to get in a pair of 16 jeans! I am aiming to lose 15 pounds by new years; which would put me at 190! Lard!!! I cant wait!

I really feel if i keep up what I am doing I can make it! But it is so, hard because there are foods i miss eating..:(

For me I have to set goals, Even if i'm 10 lbs off from the goal, i feel a lot better for doing as much as i can to get as close to said goal as healthily as possible and it keeps my motivation up lol

I was so embarassed since I am a very shy and reserved person. Part of me wanted to gain back some weight, to become "invisible" again. I thought to just give up.

However, when I think about ME, and not other people, I want to go on. I am so happy that my knees don't ache any more, and am glad I have more endurance. I honestly did not think I would ever see a "1" starting my weight ever again.

Thank you to everyone for all of your support and encouragement. 3FC is a great community. I could not have done it without all of you.

So I'm not sure if the number I saw on the scale is a fluke or something. I must've stepped on the scale at least a dozen times, though, and the numbers varied between 213.2 and 213.6, so I just went with the higher one. That's wonderful. I still don't fully understand how we can get whooshes of weight loss. But it happens! this has happened to me a few times too, so it is possible to eat out and still lose more weight than on weeks where you worked out more and didn't eat out...

Aw, Thank you so much! :D I guess it's easy for me to stay off the scale because I have so much faith in what I'm doing on a daily basis. Here's what I keep in mind: I'm doing all the right things to improve my health (eating right, exercising, drinking lots of water, getting lots of sleep, etc). If I stepped on the scale and didn't see the results I was hoping for in any particular week, would I change anything I'm doing? My answer is no. So what the scale kicks back at me will not change the way I'm behaving already....so I might as well avoid the stress LOL! Also, I get so much more fulfillment from non-scale measures......like how my clothes are getting bigger, how I look visibly smaller, how my energy levels are up, and how I can move my body in ways I've never been able to. :)

I slept in and went to Walmart this morning for their $9.50 Lee Rider jeans. I bought one pair in size 18, one in size 16, and one in size 14 knowing that if they didn't fit now they soon would.

I tried on the 18s when I got home and they FIT PERFECTLY!!!! :carrot:

Then I tried on the 16s and they fit although they were a bit too tight!! :D

I am even more motivated than ever!!! I love that I bought jeans that didn't have a W behind the number; even the pjs I bought were 16/18 with no W!!! :dancer:

I am stuck in this crazy plateau at around 216-219 and getting really serious about getting off of it. I just ran a half-marathon 4 weeks ago and I think I had let my eating slide as I was finishing up training, then let my training slide as I was recovering. I also traveled last week for five days and had five days of cafeteria food at the conference I was at. So now I'm home and have no excuse.

My measurements have been going down a little bit, though, and I'm a comfortable 14/16 or so. I can wear a size L shirt or dress. It's amazing what this opens up to me, shopping-wise. I went thrifting with my youngest son and came home with two sweaters (both size M) and a size 12 dress (a little snug, but will fit soon). But there was tons of stuff in my size, which has never been true.

I'm thinking about low-carbing for a bit because it seems like that might produce better results than just low-calorie eating. I am finding it hard to get below 1600 calories, too.

One of my closest friends and I are doing a weight-loss challenge until January 4. We're competing to see who can lose the most weight as a way to stay motivated through the holidays.

She's heavier than I am, at 299. She seems to lose weight in spurts, though, and has a hard time staying on track. She yoyos a bit. I am like a verry slow and steady turtle. We'll see who wins! I have a strong will and am very competitive.

Today I did a workout with my trainer that was really hard! We ran up and down stairs, did the rowing machine, did a whole ab set, and then I did these horrible tricep pushups and tricep dips. I had trouble chopping vegetables for dinner. But it is all for a good cause! In 4 weeks I'm going to a fancy party and I'm going to wear a sleeveless dress! I think I already look pretty good in it but I'm hoping to rock the bare arms.

Official weigh-in is tomorrow and I hope TOM hasn't screwed things up too much. I have been eating a few more calories and am in the upper end of my range most days and I have been good with the exercise, so I should be ok.

I am scared about next week though. I have finals, so I am trying to be extra watchful so that I don't stress eat; my nursing class has a Secret Santa potluck on Wednesday, the same night DH needs my help to cater a barbecue dinner; and we will be leaving Thursday evening to go to DH family's Christmas dinner in Memphis on Saturday. I fear I will not eat on plan while traveling, plus overeat at the parties, plus the difficulty of getting in exercise while traveling. Anyone with any tips, suggestions, or advice for this stressful time?

This is the first week that I haven't been able to post a loss. On Saturday when I weighed in, I was still 207 and then yesterday the scale was reading 210 and nearly flipped out. It was back down to 207 this morning...not sure what that fluctuation was about but I'm not getting back on the scale until Saturday morning. I started weight training last week and I've been pretty sick for the last few days so I'm not sure how that's affecting my progress.

Oh well...we'll see.

My weight has been staying just under 220 for a while now today it was up to 219.5 and I ate kind of a lot of some butternut squash soup I made today which had some salt in it so I'm kinda worried to see what it says tomorrow.

I'm gonna workout today to make up for some of it. Not gonna let it get me down. I'm more sad because I have not been eating bad the whole time since my last post actually been undereating and my weight just hasn't been going down. And 2 days been walking literally the whole entire day and still gaining or staying the same each day. Oh well though gonna figure out what else I can change to drop more weight faster.

I'm happy I only overate on a healthy food though also instead of a junk food it was all home made so I know what was all in it, little plus I guess haha.

I'm no doctor and you clearly know what you're doing but my experience is that I start to plateau when I'm not eating enough. It's like my body is holding onto the fat because it's not getting enough food. Maybe recalculate your calories and add in an extra healthy snack or two? Some almonds or fruit? I don't think undereating is a good idea.

Hello ladies. Just a quick hello. I am so excited to get past the 220lbs number on the scale and join your thread. I was 220.2 for the last few days. So close but then my youngest brought the flu home with her. Now I got it and am down to 218 today. Probably because I did not eat much of anything yesterday. Not really the way I had planned it but I hope it lasts (not the flu). I was sure I would not make my 50lbs lost by Christmas but I am closer now. Maybe I will.

Isn't that the truth! I'm so anxious to get to my next weight that I barely have time to enjoy where I am before I'm ready to be somewhere else. I'm really trying to enjoy this journey. I feel like my outlook has changed so much from where I started. I have to keep reminding myself of how far I've come because sometimes when I look in the mirror, I don't see any difference.

I was into the 180s before falling off the wagon (moving, intense school year, all the excuses galore!) and yesterday weighed in (after breakfast) at 206.6. Today I'm at 203.2, so I'm hoping that I'll only be here very briefly, but figured I should check in! :) Keep up the good work, everyone! You're all so close!!

Official weigh-in day. I am up to 202.6. :( I expected a gain after traveling for four days and being off plan; I am just glad that I held it to so little. I am still planning to be in ONEderland by New Year's!!! I just need to work a little harder. :kickbutt:

My weight says 220.5 today but it is my TOM and I drank a bunch of water yesterday and I'm drinking a lot today I know it's not real weight because I actually feel like I lost more and look skinnier so must just be water weight from TOM or something and I haven't been overeating or nothing. So just gonna wait it out hope I get a woosh soon hate seeing that number on the scale again!

I'm still hovering at 208.... I think I know what the problem is. I've been eating pasta everyday for lunch. It's whole wheat pasta, but it's still pasta. I usually cook a big pot of something on Saturday and pack it into containers to eat for lunch throughout the following week. This week's lunch has been butternut squash and spinach pasta. Which is freaking delicious, but probably the reason my losses have ground to a halt. I've already decided on what I'm cooking tomorrow and it will not include pasta.

Finally got into the two-teens and I'm like "Well, that took forever!" Of course, I gained 20lbs and then had to lose it and it took me a month to take off the the Thanksgiving weight, but I am now at my lowest weight since I was...10 years old. Goodness...

I weighed in at 219.2lbs today so I am now new to this thread! I can't even begin to imagine that in 19.4lbs I will be below 200lbs. It just seems so impossible to me. Hopefully I will breeze through this thread and into the 190s. I can't wait. Hope everyone else is having a good week as well.

My scale is very annoying to me. I stepped on this morning and saw 202.8...then back on immediately and ranging from 203.8-203.2. An entire pound is a lot to 'fluctuate', obviously my scale is working for the devil :| I'm taking 203.2 as the average weight today and maybe soon I'll buy a new scale.

It's official: I'm overweight!! As of this morning, I'm no longer obese!!! This month the weightloss has been slow going, but it's still going. 9lbs. to Onederland!!! :carrot:

Hey All :)

Not sure if anyone remembers me, but I've been gone a couple of months. I don't think I've been really active here since September.

I haven't really been active with the weight loss either. I weighed in this morning at 207.0. That's where I was at the beginning of September. Got down to about 204, but haven't been staying with my eating plan very well.

I've decided that changes today. I am ready to power through to Onederland and then to an overweight BMI at 185. I have a family wedding to go to in May and I want to look great :)

I binged on pistachios and some sunflower seeds last night so ill be paying for that for a while now I'm sure. Scale said 217.5 this morning but think its cuz I'm dehydrated too again bah. Oh well ill do real good today and I'm not buying pistachios no more I guess lol

Welcome underwater good job for starting again you will drop that weight in no time :D glad to have you join us it's ok sometimes we just need to take a break after I lost my first 80 lbs I was stalled there for like a year it gets tiring luckily I maintained there still.

I've been doin horrible the past 2 days ate way too many nuts and too much salt can see I gained again :( sucks cuz I won't even make it to 210 by New Years now oh well though can't do nothing about it just gonna eat good again from now on. I'm not gonna snack on nuts anymore I feel like cutting them all out for a while again but I will make almond milk also I'm going to cut out eggs and meat again I think.

well the scale hasn't been nice to me. It continues to rise or stay the same for last five days now. I've been on plan perfectly, low sodium, drinking water, its not TOM. I have no idea what the cause could be. Theres no way I gained weight but it seems I've added about 4lbs of water weight magically. Its frustrating. It could be stress I suppose but I've been trying to relax and nothing is working yet. Just going to be one of those bad weeks.
