WOW...we are already on Vol 10 in less than a month, this is amazing how many of us are staying true to the program. We are all rocking this program to the max that is for sure. Although some of us are having trouble with our bodies each week we are still staying 100% which is amazing. Most would have already thrown in the towel and given up, NOT US....we are IN IT TO WIN IT!!!!....I am happy to say I am still LOVING this program after 15 months!!

A few weeks ago both my DH & I had our annual physicals. As I become more comfortable telling him what I actually weigh, I finally asked him what he weighed. He told me 208.4 and I said "I am going to catch you soon!" He chuckled and said that I would scream right by him.

Well, last week I was in a funk and asked him for a favor. He said sure thing.....my favor was to get him to eat all the ice cream we had in the house so he would weigh more than me. I told you I was in a funk. He laughed and said well I weigh 201 now - unbeknownst to me, DH has been riding my recumbent bike nearly every day since his physical. It will be even harder to catch a moving target.....although I could try hitting the moving target. ;)

This morning as I was cleaning up the kitchen, he wandered in from the garage and reported that this morning he was at 199.8. I have to admit I said a bad word and told him to go back to the garage. :rollpin:

I shouldn't have told him to weigh only in the morning......but I have now told him that his weight is only official if he is holding a cat, preferably all 3, while he steps on the scale.

Sooooo im pretty scared about my WI tomorrow... I have my own scale at home and it usually about 8 lbs less than my weigh in... and if this is all true I will definitely have gained this week... I have done nothing different, stayed 100% OP... all I can think of is maybe the steroids they put me on for the pneumonia made me retain a little.... Well Im really praying for a loss tomorrow... Hope you all have had a great start to your week!

That will be so good to know and will give you info to plan ahead.

I know how you feel, I lost 70 pounds in total, not nearly as much as you did but I'd like to know how much of the deflated tire around my middle is loose skin and how much is actually fat.
It will be so good for you to have some definite answers.

Your ticker is tantalizingly close to goal!

Love your new avatar. You are beaming! :D

... all I can think of is maybe the steroids they put me on for the pneumonia made me retain a little....

I have been through many changes in medicine since I started IP. Some did cause me to retain water and I did have a few times where I went up a little. Once my body got used to the new pill or the medicine worked its way out of my system the scale started moving down again. Keep the faith!

Good news for me finally. The whoosh fairy visited me at WI today. I lost 3.5 pounds! Eliminating the restricteds and higher carb veggies really helped.

Plus I find out I misread the fats per day.... I though it was 1 - 2 tablespoons per day. Not teaspoons. Oops! So reducing my fats probably helped too.

Plus, I hit 31 for BMI, And my coach said I may be better at 135 instead of 130. So I am going to set my goal at 25 BMI and see what the weight will be.

Overall, super excited.
Treated myself to a new outfit at Chicos, and bought size 1 in a pair of white pants, tank and and a bright red shirt....all size 1 (about size 8-10 in regular sizes).

I will be paying the price when I get back home, but we are walking a lot and having a great time. Hi all,

Haven't posted in a while since I was on vacation with my family. IT IS POSSIBLE to stay 100% OP while on vacation. My family was impressed with my determination and vowed to follow suit when they got home. I did most if not all of the cooking and they really enjoyed the different ways to eat veggies and protein. The only thing I slacked on was my water intake as we were at the beach and running after 6 kids.

small tip: we were at the beach during lunch one day and I forgot the salad and veggies in the fridge. Of course, the beach bar only had iceberg lettuce, but I did notice they made philly cheese steaks... so I asked for the peppers (red & green) cut up raw as my alternative. It was delicious and I stayed OP :)

As of today I'm 2 lbs from my original goal of 150 but I'm changing it to 145 and then reasses again.

Thank you for this forum of positive vibes that keeps me going. :)

Okay, so I haven't been completly 100%, but in my defense, I didn't even realize it til yesterday. I have me measuring my oil by TBSP instead of TSP. For some reason I was looking at the serving size on the bottle an thought that is what I went by. Hey 100% - special shout out to Shathom and mompattie!!!! On making 40 by 40 and inspiring 16 people to make a life changing decision! I am on my final Phase 1 countdown. I am leaving for the beach tomorrow, and my coach is on vacation too - so skipping this next WI and decided to stay on Phase 1 until the end of next week. I had told her I would reassess then whether to stay on Phase 1 depending on my BF% then.

But honestly, as much as I LOVE Phase 1 comfort - I am getting small - my size 2s are fitting me fine now and I have a feeling if I keep whooshing (I've whooshed 4.6lb since Fri WI according to home scale) I will be at a very comfortable point. I plan on stepping up my exercise intensity in Phase 3 (when my coach said it's okay with the increased carbs/glucose). My BF% is ~27%, which is in the Normal range, hoping it's closer to the Fitness range by 2 weeks end - but we will see.

So - I am still in the habit of getting my cheap clearance w/coupon Old Navy clothes while I am still shrinking - they aren't the highest quality, but I am pretty casual at work. I plan on 'splurging' on a higher end wardrobe once I hit goal (I will also be changing jobs to a more 'professional' program in a few months) but am wondering when I should have my big shopping spree - after Phase 3? After a month in Phase 4? Wondering if any folks have ideas for themselves, or if any Maintainers had input.

Good morning all, I did my speach last night at the clinic and I was so nervous! I have to give briefs for my job all the time and I'm fine, this however made me nervous. The audience however was so supportive and kept clapping while I was talking about what IP has done for me so I calmed down in no time :cp:. Afterwards there were 16 people that went to the counter to either sign up or ask additional questions :D. I am so proud of what I've accomplished so far being 100% IP, can't wait to see what is coming in the future!

Smooches!

Job well done!! I was expecting you to say you broke out in the IP Happy Dance at by the end but with the rush to sign up it was best to get out of the way!

Your enthusiasm is infectious. :cp::cp:

Actually I lost better when I upped the olive oil a bit. It will be interesting to see if it makes a difference to you when you have less. Our bodies are all different so we have to figure out for ourselves what is going on when we hit an unexpected stall.

Do half now and half later? Then you can mix it up a bit and it's like a 'get to one month goal"

Today is two months for me and I'm off to the lululemon store as I've been consitently running now AND I find I like the fact that I can fit into their clothes (yes I'm a brand whore too!)...BUT when I tried other stuff it didn't wick as well so instead of paying 20 bucks for a workout top, I'll pay 40-45 and feel better about myself and not be as sweaty! :)

I'd suggest to wait till you are in phase 4 for a while. Your weight may not change but the body continues to readjust especially if you are upping the exercise.

If you are buying higher quality professional type clothhes you will want them to fit for a long time.

What really surprises me since I got to maintenance is how particular I am with how things fit. After many many years of grabbing what ever would get around me each morning I usually change several times before going to work to be sure whatever I have on fits comfortably.

That your time and enjoy looking at everything and planning what will be your best choices.

I will be paying the price when I get back home, but we are walking a lot and having a great time. As soon as the airplane wheels touch down in Austin next Saturday night it's back to phase 1 until at least my next and last trip of the summer.

Hope everyone has a good week.

What a great idea! Way to stay op!

Not only did you not gain weight on steroids, but you managed to lose weight! I know you're used to larger weight losses, but 2 pounds is a really good loss. 24 pounds in 5 weeks...when have you ever lost weight like that before? Celebrate this loss just like you have the others! You did great! :)

I am grumpy. DH NEVER gives compliments, but 39 lbs and still NOTHING! Not a single solitary person has commented, I know I know...lots of people don't know they should say anything, or they feel they shouldn't say anything, or quite frankly, they're jealous and don't want to say anything!!

But DH!!!! Come on!!! What's the deal? I am having a shitty day, for no good reason, prob. hormones, but a hug and a kiss once in a while, with a compliment would sure make the crappy day seem alot better. I have been working hard - a little positive feedback would help.

You have done an amazing thing!!

Hey, my heart goes out to all of you who are on IP and are mothers of little children! Are any of you mothers of little children?

I drove 4 1/2 hours (ate lunch and snack in the car and made multiple stops for you-know-what), picked up some protein to cook for dinner and arrived at my daughters house. Left promptly to pick up the twin babies from daycare and from 5 - 7:30 was busy with the babies. Did not have time to drink a glass of water or even think about my food until they were fed, bathed, and in bed. Then I cooked up some yummy stir-saute chicken and veggies.

Tomorrow will be better. I'm going to prepare something earlier so we can eat with the babies. I stayed OP 100%, but usually I'm at home taking care of me! I'll get the hang of this by tomorrow , I know. I plan to stay on this 100% during this entire week when I'm here.

Okay, so I haven't been completly 100%, but in my defense, I didn't even realize it til yesterday. I have me measuring my oil by TBSP instead of TSP. For some reason I was looking at the serving size on the bottle an thought that is what I went by. I'm glad a caught it, actually someone on here said that is what they had done and it made me look at my sheet. Maybe that is why my scale doesn't want to move. I don't know just glad I found the mistake. Other then that I have been 100%!!

Good day everyone. It's WI day for me so time to check in here as well. It seems like it's been a very busy few weeks and I haven't been posting here as much as earlier. But I do check in whenever I get a free moment.

No change in the scale today... weightwise anyway. This is one of those days when I'm really glad I bought my Omron fully body composition scale, because it's telling me that even though the scale didn't budge downward, once again this week I've had 2% decrease in body fat percentage. And an increase of 1.3% in skeletal muscle percentage. (Don't know what happened to that remaining difference of .7%?) Without knowing these things, I'd be feeling much more frustrated. But I can put up with a temporary stall, knowing that things are happening like this inside my body :)

However, I've been stalled for 2 weeks now ... my body doesn't seem to want to release me into the 170s!

BTW... read yesterday about a good drink that the author says enhances our metabolism and helps to control insulin. It seems to be appropriate and on protocol for IP. It was in The Carb Sensitivity Program book I was reading. You take the juice of 1/2 - 1 lemon (organic preferred), + a 1" sized piece of raw ginger root minced up or finely sliced + a good sized pinch of cayenne pepper... mix in with 8 - 8oz glasses of water (reverse osmosos recommended). Drink either iced or warm. I used just a regular lemon and regular filtered water yesterday, and added a dash of stevia to sweeten a little. Had several glasses over ice. It was a record-breaking hot day here in my area yesterday, and that spicy lemonade concoction went down really well. The author said to drink several glasses a day.

Have a great OP day. :)

LizRR, You have done such an amazing job and it is crazy how much your body has changed in just the past 3 weeks that I have been on here! You are an inspiration!

Hi all - I posted on the daily and wanted to share here as I'm am SO excited.....

Hey everyone - I had my WI today, I am no officially in...............................ONEDERLAND, 198.2!! :woo hoo: I LOVE IP!!

And....7.5 inches, I am currently weighing in every two weeks.

Diana B, That is so awesome!

Another great WI - down another 5 lbs. That makes 20 lbs in 4 weeks. I am stoked:carrot:

Another 5lbs that is great!

I am a stay at home mom :) I have two little boys. They are 1 and 3. Some days can be stressful but I love being able to stay with them all day. Have fun on your visit if there is one thing my kids adore it is their nanny:)

You look amazing. I just started on week four and am a newbie to the site. You have given me real encouragement to keep going. I have been 100% true to the IP and have lost 16.4 lbs. Shooting for 20+ lb lost for week 4. Thanks for your positive note.

However, in reviewing my records I see that it's been a month now where I've been stalled at this same approximate weight... my body doesn't seem to want to release me into the 170s!

BTW... read yesterday about a good drink that the author says enhances our metabolism and helps to control insulin.

Thanks for the drink tip - that actually sounds really refreshing - sounds like something different for me to drink on the beach this week! Oh yeah, if you haven't heard - I am leaving for the beach in 1 hour and 16 minutes!!!

And I am not really driven by the scale number - I want to get my body fat percentage down....so it's great that you are tracking that number.

I know how you feel though I was hoping for more this week too:)

You are going to lose this a little every week - before you know it you will hit GOAL and it will be AMAZING! The great thing about smaller loss weeks is that they are usually followed by big loss weeks! Keep up 100% and you will see!

LizRR, You have done such an amazing job and it is crazy how much your body has changed in just the past 3 weeks that I have been on here! You are an inspiration!

Thanks pacia! I have to say though - it took me ~30lb to drop out of the 16s, now it seems after a good bathroom break I am dropping another size! Definitely save your wardbrobe budget for the very end - seriously, it is going so fast. I actually bought size ONE pants yesterday, they are snug now (as were the 2s, as were the 4s, as were the 8s, etc.) but since I have 1.5 more weeks of Phase 1 I know they will fit at the end. I got too big for my britches though and tried on size 0s - those couldn't even fit over my hip bones so I think I found my clothing size limit!

So I went to weigh in #5... only lost two pounds for a total of 24 pounds in five weeks!! just kinda bummed bc i have such awesome weigh ins then a sucky one... i guess with the fact that I had pneumonia and was on steroids i should just be happy i didnt gain.... heres to next week!!

"Only Lost 2lb" - That Is A Great WI! There are people here who would kill for that loss. I had several 2lb WIs, add them all up and you will be reaching goal in no time. Just stick 100%!!! And you did that being sick and on steroids - girl, you are rocking this!

People just don't get it do they.

My boss and I are going to lunch, for a meeting I guess, who knows.

Yesterday he said something about how my food is bland. Today he asked if I was just going to just eat cucumbers or I was going to "treat myself". Of course, this is the same guy who shoved a cookie in my face.

To me, loosing the weight is my treat to myself. That's how I'm looking at it.

WOW you are doing amazing and will be at that 20lbs in no time. Stay true to the program and your results will prove that. You are welcome

Shathom, so glad your testimonial went well, 16 people is a good number for sure. I am sure you help encourage them into the questions and signing up.

Yesterday was a hectic day for me, was out and about all day with my son's car, going to Mobile, coming back, doing more running around. Good thing I was off yesterday! I am happy to say that I am down another 1.5lbs this week....I am inching closer and closer to that 200 mark!

My bf comes in Friday I am super excited about that. We are going to New Orleans for a party and to a BBQ with his family. First time meeting them so kinda nervous BUT he knows what I can eat and his proud of me so I know he has informed them of my food.....lol...He is trying to get his mom and sister to do the program as well so we will see how that goes. They are BIGGER than I was when I started, his sister made the comment I can't eat "those" kinda foods they taste nasty. I just shrugged and said you do what you have to do for a period of time. The food isn't bad and I am seeing results so I will continue to eat "that" kinda food until I am at goal. She kinda just rolled her eyes at me...haha

Hi everyone! Miss catching up with y'all but I'm off on my trip with my friend who has been doing IP with me.

Dana - we miss you and will be here when you return!

Good morning all, I did my speach last night at the clinic and I was so nervous! Afterwards there were 16 people that went to the counter to either sign up or ask additional questions :D. I am so proud of what I've accomplished so far being 100% IP, can't wait to see what is coming in the future!

shathom - Great job! You should be very proud. I might borrow a little courage and agree to speak at my clinic.....maybe.... :D

Haha, LOL, too funny. I can't compete with my dh, as he is training for a sprint triathlon. But you gave me a laugh- several. Thinking of my husband holding a few cats was priceless! You made my day!

dizzyjean - DH laughed too when he saw what I wrote. He is now reporting weight with cats.....if he is up 30+ pounds overnight, I know he caught all 3 that morning....

...BUT when I tried other stuff it didn't wick as well so instead of paying 20 bucks for a workout top, I'll pay 40-45 and feel better about myself and not be as sweaty! :)

Ishbel - I like the rationalization! Sweaty is bad - got it! ;)

.... the last time I was a size 2 was in the womb :D

Ice tea out the nose - thank you!!!!

Hey everyone - I had my WI today, I am no officially in...............................ONEDERLAND, 198.2!! :woo hoo: I LOVE IP!!

Diana - Congrats!!! Keep on trucking!!!!

Feather rumpling complete. *sigh*

mompattie: I am so sorry your DH isn't saying anything. Guys can be dense, and he might be afraid of saying the wrong thing. You might try on some new cute clothes (or lingerie LOL) for him and point out your figure...that will get his attention! You are doing so great!

:lucky: <~~~~~ mompatties Husband

:flame::flame:HOT DANG WOMAN :flame: :flame:.....i know i don't say it often enough :?: and i'm a man, and well, men just don't notice some things, but :dizzy:WOW HONEY....YOU ARE LOOKING MIGHTY HOT!!! :belly: I know you have been working hard :strong: and WOW, ITS PAYING OFF CAUSE BABY :jig::jig::jig:YOU MAKE ME WEAK IN THE KNEES!!!:devil::devil: now come here and lets bake some cookies baby!!! :chef::cookie::chef::cookie::chef::cookie: :censored:

i love you baby!! :drool::val2::val2::val1:

rainbow: that was a very funny and encouraging post! I wanted to also let you know that I've been trying several of your recipes and they're awesome! You should write an IP cookbook, with pictures, of course! I'd buy one!

Tomorrow will be better. I'm going to prepare something earlier so we can eat with the babies. I stayed OP 100%, but usually I'm at home taking care of me! I'll get the hang of this by tomorrow , I know. I plan to stay on this 100% during this entire week when I'm here.
Joysh: I have two small children, and they are watching me everyday...I actually overheard my 4 yr old son ask DH if cherries were "healthy," which at first made me worry that I talk about my diet too much, but DH pointed out that it's not a bad thing for our kids to think about whats healthy and whats not healthy....it is quite a chore trying to keep up with everything when also chasing babies, but I am worth and and they are worth it, too! Your grandbabies are going to appreciate their healthy gram!

People just don't get it do they.

My boss and I are going to lunch, for a meeting I guess, who knows.

To me, loosing the weight is my treat to myself. That's how I'm looking at it.

lynnie: DH informed me that I am a food pusher. I make good food and try to get everyone to eat bunches of it. It is hereditary, but I am working on it! Sorry your boss is so negative, you'll show him with your progress!

WI was today, down another 1.4lbs, which wasn't great, but TOM is on its way so I'm not too surprised, overall very happy with my results. I hope everyone has a great 100% day!

Absolutely, Lynnie. We are treating ourselves by losing weight and becoming healthier. We are not tempted by short-sighted distractions. Keep your eye on the prize.

Had my WI this morning - was down another 3.2 pounds. Yippee!! Go me!

A few weeks ago the girls in the office were commenting on how amazing the change was in me. I remember saying that sometimes it was hard to see the difference. Well this morning, one of the girls comes running around the counter with my chart and whips it open. The girls had tracked down the photos from my first day. I was stunned - that person was me. I remember being her, but then again I don't.

I asked to borrow the pictures so I could scan them. I have already asked DH to take more pictures of me. I want similar poses. Since many in my family have watched my transformation in real time, it will be quite a different reaction when my DH's family sees me minus 130+ pounds next month. I am still trying to figure out if there is anything I can do to prepare myself for their reaction...... :yikes:

Well we'll compliment you on what a great job you're doing... I ran into a friend who had been on the Ducan diet. She is down right skinny. She said several women in her family, friend circle had big praises for her. But she mentioned, nothing from the men. We chalked it up to men maybe being conditioned to not comment on women and their weight.

On another note, I went to see my old coach tonight. She was awesome (and still is!), I left the clinic and went to alternative products due to cost. So I still pick up vitamins and the odd box of product here and there. She offered to do mg measurements tonight, so that was great! I am back down to what I was when I left her clinic. After leaving I gained 40 lbs, so that's gone again! Geeze why did I quit?? I digress.... I am seeing this through to the end!!!

I have been thinking about the topic of people commenting or not all day. For me, friends have said things (nice things!) directly to me. Family members say things to my mom. One of my brothers who lives close & sees me frequently said to her ".....ptod (oops almost typed my real name) looks good." My mom wasn't sure what I did or didn't want to share with anyone so she said "ptod got a new bra." Bringing up undergarments with my brothers usually gets the topic changed real quick. ;)

DH hasn't said much to me....except "go put a belt on." He laughs when I can pull my pants up to my armpits. I know he is happy that I am happy. When we were at dinner tonight, he asked why I asked him to take more pictures again. I told him about the photos I got at the clinic this morning. He did say tonight that the change in me is pretty significant. I shared my anxiety over seeing his family & being nearly half the size I was when I last saw them. I know he can't understand that completely, but I know he will be very mindful of how I am handling their reactions/comments/concern even.

Give me a few days to get the before/current photos up before starting a riot - I am quite willing to share them. We are on the road for the next 4 days so it might not happen till next week.

Happy 100% day everyone! It has been an insane week and I haven't gotten things I needed done...done...I have gotten way to little sleep and I am ready for the week to be done. Still 100% OP but tired. :) Today is WI day and my DH will go on to maintenance. Me, I am hoping the scale shows me at 40 lbs lost (officially). I am pre TOM and still seem to be retaining water and having issues with the big C again this week. Even with that my home scale showed a pretty big change this morning...may it show a similar change at the clinic! :) Have a wonderful day everyone and best wishes for all of you with WI's today. Congrats to everyone that had such a superb week! (I am still catching up on the thread but wanted to tell you all that you look MARVELOUS!)

There will always be haters, do you and get all those pounds off, make them jealous, I dare ya :s:

Shathom, so glad your testimonial went well, 16 people is a good number for sure. I am sure you help encourage them into the questions and signing up.

Yesterday was a hectic day for me, was out and about all day with my son's car, going to Mobile, coming back, doing more running around. Good thing I was off yesterday! I am happy to say that I am down another 1.5lbs this week....I am inching closer and closer to that 200 mark!

Thanks, I hope they signed up, it is a life altering experience as you know. :carrot:
You'll be at 200 before you know it :joker:

Well went to my first WI.....down 5.4lbs!!!!!:carrot: At first I was like "that's it", but they did the mass fat loss, it was 4.2lbs of pure fat:cp: and 1lb of water. I like those numbers!!! Looking forward to another great week!!

-Jennifer

wooho, great WI, congrats :bravo:

:yikes:

great WI, cannot wait to see the pictures :D

All is well here in babyland. Pacia and Mom2hi, yes, I'm having a wonderful time with the babies! They are identical twin girls, 1 year, and simply adorable, happy babies! Of course, they try to "feed" me their bottle and snack! I pretend to take a bite, but can't really, of course.

Good luck on WIs today! Have a wonderful 100% day, everyone!

Just got back from WI, lost another 2 lbs and 2.5 inches! I was so happy and then my coach threw me a curve ball, she told me today is her last day and she is retiring! I have grown to love her and she is more like a good friend instead of a coach! I'm gonna miss her dearly and we cried together. Now here is the part that I was not happy to hear, I had to change my WI day because the new coach does not want to come in on Thurs and Fridays... My new WI day is Tuesday! Well, that only gives me 5 days for my next WI. I'm just feeling kinda down right now (people don't like change and I'm no different).

Change can be good in certain circumstances, but the way I see it, if you already have an established clientelle and you are coming in to fill someone else's shoes, wouldn't you want to keep the status quo instead of upsetting the apple cart? I re-arranged my schedule on the job to accommodate the WI, the clinic is already not open on the weekend! I have meetings that are already established weekly, so now I've got to try and re-arrange things again. Just saying, the job pays the bills and IP is one of those.

That's what happened with me and my clinic. Well they didn't actually change hours but I am working in schools and once summer vacation was over last year I just could not fit the hours the clinic was open into my work schedule because they weren't open many hours. It would have just caused an uproar at work to rearrange things and my supervisor is not a big fan of uproars.

I remember feeling just like you do but I continued on my own and it was fine.

You will work something out; you totally have got the program under control.

I was here at 730am this morning and was here from 830am-645pm yesterday. My people are important to me and I want them to succeed so I have to be there for them. I was told today by 3 of them that I am the best thing that could have happened because I let them know straight up what to do and offer suggestions to different things. I give them that "push" they need, friendly but stern at the same time. They are liking it so this is a great thing! I wish you all of the best that is for sure. You WILL GET THERE

Hi all. Congratulations for another AMAZING week, doing what we do!!! It looks like everyone lost a TON this week.....YAY!!!!!
I am glad that things are settling down here. Thank you for all of your prayers and well wishes. They were certainly felt and appreciated.
After my tumultuous week, I lost nothing and gained .1. I did lose more fat though, that makes me very happy. Today I feel amazing and my clothes are once again getting saggy, waggy! I did have a solid two pound loss on Sunday, which conveniently went away in time for my WI on Wednesday. I am completely fine with it.....YAY. (Huge NSV for me!) My coach revealed that I skipped a lot of packets and meals last week, I will need to work on getting in enough food when my life gets stressful and crazy. I used to stress eat, now I stress "don't eat"....I am working on it.
I have run in to two people this week who completely did not recognize me, I actually had to introduce myself...great NSV. Another NSV, sitting at the stylist today, looking dead on into the mirror, and loving what I see!!!!! (I used to hate looking at the fat me in the mirror, today I couldn't take my eyes off of myself....I kinda did not recognize me!!!!
Have a wonderful day everyone, I have missed you all tremendously. I skimmed earlier, now going to go back and check "yall" out!!!

On a side note, i reached my original goal of 150 yesterday. Of course, my weigh in was Tue, but Wed morning I saw a 2lb drop. I was over the moon. The sense of accomplishment was great.

NewPath - I LOVED reading about your NSVs! They were delightful! I have always been a stress "non-eater" which is part of why I got to where I was. I believe in us...we will find a way to keep the food balance through all things that life throws at us!

My week 15 WI results...38.4 lbs lost and 32.2 lbs to go. Today's WI was a 1.8 lb and 1" loss. Slightly lost muscle mass and dropped body fat by about a half a percentage. All in all I am very pleased with this week's result. I discussed the Quest gluten free bars (I posted the link in the thread a week or so ago) with my coach today and she said it was fine to have them but if I slowed at losing I may have to eliminate them. I wish that IP would introduce some gluten free bars to give us more options. There are literally two restricteds that I can chose from.

Wuv... I wish you could be my coach!! so jealous of your clients!

SOoooo I have a question that I haven't been able to get a straight answer out of at my clinic... How much exercise is enough, and how much is too much?

I work as a nurse and Im on my feet 10 hours a day... Ive never worn a pedometer but I bet it would be scary... So apparently my work isn't enough (although the never come out and just say it) but I also come home every night and walk my dog three square city blocks.... (approx 20 min?) Can anyone just give me a cut and dry answer? I'd appreciate it!!!:hug::hug:

i have a shake for breakfast, 1 whole cucumber for lunch, a bar for a 4pm snack, 8oz lean proteins and a cucumber or asparagus for dinner, and a shake for dessert. I tend to get the hungry horrors once im home so i cluster a lot of stuff for the evenings.

Good morning all, well it is Friday and a rainy one for me here in Florida. :rain: I love rainy days when I can stay home under a blanket on the couch with a hot cup of coffee (or a cold glass of water, he he). NSV: It is casual day at work and I'm wearing jeans that were my step downs that used to be tight, now I'm pulling them up all the time! Don't want to go shopping just yet though but if I have to there is a CATO where I can get some inexpensive jeans to wear during my transformation.

Have a great 100% OP day everyone.

Good morning, everyone!

Newpath, glad to see you!

Congrats on losses to all!

I'm still at daughter's with babies. Last night I made a shrimp stir-fry with rice for babies and daughter and cauliflower rice for me. I almost took a bite of the regular rice - out of the old "taste it all while cooking and serving" habit. I caught myself and stopped. But then I had a dream that I really did it and sipped out of ketosis. I was really upset. Woke up and was happy it was a dream. :D

I realized I'll be here a little longer and ordered some food from the Protein Store.

Nothing much new, except I'm having fun with the babies. Also getting exercise getting up and down from the floor all the time, which is a lot easier. Also picking them up (sometimes two a time) is giving me some arm exercise! haha

Have a great 100% day, everyone!

Yes definitely... A Large whole cucumber is 2 cups... And about 17stalks of asparagus is equal to the same... I try to stick to what I like so that don't waste.

Awesome!! I would say all your walking at work would amount to a other non restricted if you aren't losing consistently. If your loss stalls try adding another packet to your day to see if that helps. I know 12 hrs of running around a ward can really add up! On non work days, chose a low intensity exercise like cycling or walking or yoga. Don't want to burn muscle so make sure you can talk while exercising. You're doing awesome!!!

The peach mango drink mix is a good choice if you're going to add an extra packet. It only has one carb and has 20 g of protein. I'm adding an extra one of these a couple of times a week because I was losing lean muscle. I'm very active, and my coach suggested this.

Wuv, I hope your BF makes it home soon. :)

Great video this week, I spend the entire nap time for my toddlers yesterday watching your videos...amazing, you are truly an inspiration on so many levels.

I hope you have a wonderful Friday and manage not to lose your pants:D I always look for the cheapest jeans, shorts, etc., that I can find. I like to go to TJ Maxx and comb through every clearance rack.

Have a fantastic Friday (despite the rain).
Having loose pants is a blessing but it is getting annoying having to constantly pull them up :D I love to shop, they should make that a new category in the olympics :strong: (getting ready)

A rainy day in CT too. I love your loose jeans NSV! Nothing like sliding into a favorite pair of jeans instead of struggling to get them over your hips and then having to lie down to zip them up,lol! Have a wonderful day!
Ooh i've never worn them that tight that I had to lie down to zip them up, whew, I can just see the bakery top (muffins are too small) that would have created:yikes:

Have an issue I never thought I would have...my friends (true friends) are individually telling me to phase off. They feel that my body shape looks great and that my face is too thin and drawn. They also believe they need to "intervene." Really? Ugh... While I do feel that what they say is true, I had wanted to drop an additional 10lbs so I would have a cushion before starting phase 2. I understand that it is conceivable that I may continue to lose in phase 2. Feeling pressure and think I will start phase 2. August 1 will be 9 months on phase 1. Anyone else experiencing pressure from friends who you are confident have your back and are not coming from a place of envy?

My week 15 WI results...38.4 lbs lost and 32.2 lbs to go. Today's WI was a 1.8 lb and 1" loss. Slightly lost muscle mass and dropped body fat by about a half a percentage. All in all I am very pleased with this week's result. I discussed the Quest gluten free bars (I posted the link in the thread a week or so ago) with my coach today and she said it was fine to have them but if I slowed at losing I may have to eliminate them. I wish that IP would introduce some gluten free bars to give us more options. There are literally two restricteds that I can chose from.
Hi...which two bars can you have? My friend has celiacs disease (sp??) and has been asking me questions about this program...

Lol shathom! Bakery tops are something i am definitely familiar with! I dumped all the size 16s & 14s, then got every other jean size to save some money after my goal 12s went baggy butt on me.

You could conceivably loose in phase 3 too! Lost 5 there, you don't need a 10 lb cushion. Phase off at goal and you SHOULD lose enough phasing off that your goal is the highest you see in a week (phase 4), like after fun day, I have seen 158 during some of my weeks. I don't want to lose on Phase 4 so I monitor up and down. I've believe in the program so much I'm scared I'm loosing muscle if I lose on phase 4.

Do what you feel is right, and if they usually have your back....well...most of my comments are envy as there is no way at my weight I look sick. I wish some of them were more gentle and kind.

Good luck!

That is interesting, I am also the roughly the same height and weight and people keep telling me I am falling away to nothing. This is far from the truth because at our height and weight we are still at the high end of the average range.
I am in my 60s so I can see how the drawn look is an issue. The concern is actually from family members and coworkers who care about me but are not used to seeing me at an average weight.

Finally I sent an email to my co-workers with a picture attached of me at my highest weight and now. I told them that I appreciated their concern but I am always going to have to be very careful about what I eat. I explained that I am now actually a "closet" obese person because my body will not react to food in the same way that a person who is naturally of the same height and weight. I got emails back from all of them saying they were shocked at the before pictures because they do not remember me being that heavy. The before picture was just a few years ago.

Just the afternoon two retired friends were visiting me and they also expressed concern that I was losing too much weight. I again explained that I was at the high end of the average and I think the issue is that everything I lose now is going from my top half and not leaving my middle. They agreed that it was likely because we are often viewing people as we chat in a seated position and we are reacting to the upper part of a person's body and as we age everything moves south.

But I do think for younger people part of the stabilizing process as we phase out is that the body "fluffs out" during the phase 3 and 4 and the drawn look disappears.

None of these people were jealous but concerned. I think in time people get used to seeing us at our new weight and are not surprised each time they see us.

Tmg and Patns, I hope to have that happen to me in a few months! I'm also 5'1" and have 135 as my current goal weight, although I might lose another 5 pounds when I get there. Stand fast and do what you need to do.

Hope everyone had a good day.

I had a wonderful lunch at a sushi restaurant with my daughter. We used to do this regularly, but I've really been afraid to do it on IP. I decided that I have to learn how to do this, so I had a regular salad (no dressing) and the most wonderful sashimi! The waitress even knew that each little order (two small pieces) was .7 of an ounce. This was lunch and I had 6 orders (about 4.2 oz) and had the rest of my protein at dinnertime.

Yum!:hun:

Yum--- sushi! I too have been scared of sushi, but now that I'm starting phase 2 (any day now-keep putting it off) I think I will give it a try. Can you have soy sauce? Wasabi? My favorite sushi place makes a couple of rolls without rice. You have inspired me to go have sushi with my daughter for lunch.

Hi...which two bars can you have? My friend has celiacs disease (sp??) and has been asking me questions about this program...

From the IP selection you can have the oatmeal and one other restricted...I don't recall which one. I gave up on restricteds when I saw how limited the selection was. There are no IP bars that are gluten free. The protein bars I found that are very comparable to an IP nonrestricted in nutrition are http://questproteinbar.com/ They are chewy and wonderful. They are something that I will have in my life going forward and they are cheaper than IP...12 bars with shipping is $30. IP wise I do a lot of the drinks and puddings...just has worked out that was the best for me option wise but I think there are plenty of other options soup wise that are gluten free.

Hmmm... I feel I may need to switch clinics. I see a local MD now and am happy with my results but I never get checked for lean muscle gain/ loss etc...Just wt and measure every other week. I am starting to feel it would be better for me to keep track of my lean muscle mass. I am post menopause and know muscle loss has been an issue for me. Any thoughts?

It has been really helpful for me to have body fat/lean muscle measured every week. That way if I begin to lose too much lean muscle (you will lose some on this plan) they will help me tweak the program. I really appreciate the extra measurements because now I know that just using the scale to determine weight loss isn't all there is to it. You don't want to lose muscle even if it makes the scale's numbers look pretty.

I love sushi (sashimi)! I usually have the exact meal: miso soup, dry salad with lemon, and sashimi. I did make the mistake of ordering seaweed salad once, was WAY overdressed in sesame oil & sugar. So happy you got the time with your daughter!

I agree about the body composition, I find that to be more important and informative than the scale. One week I "only" lost 2lb, had actually been nursing a 2-3lb gain all week, turns out I had gained 4lb of muscle and lost 6lb of fat that week, and seriously my clothes were immediately falling off. I get it measured every week at my clinic.

What instrument do they use to measure your body fat/lean muscle?

What instrument do they use to measure your body fat/lean muscle?

My clinic uses the B3 Body Composition Analyzer which uses bio-impedance technology, a state-of-the art, very accurate method of determining body mass. The device sends a mild electrical current through your body, measuring both the strength and speed of the return current. From these readings, the software calculates your body mass. Because certain body tissues conduct electricity better than others, the device can measure the current leaving your body and estimate your body composition, based on very sophisticated algorithms developed over years of clinical testing. The device is safe, but you should not use it if you are pregnant or have an implanted electrical medical device such as a pacemaker.

It doesn't hurt...You also have access to the software at home so you can view your progress over time periods, from the most recent results to time over months or the year.

Wuv you are getting so close to your goal!!! That has to feel liberating, exciting and so surreal. Do you anticipate staying with 200 as your goal or are you going to modify it to something lower when you get there? The reason I ask is that my husband set a goal and has since changed his goal because he didn't know what a healthy weight was for himself. He said he didn't own a scale when he was at the weight he felt the best at so he had no idea what that weight was. It is interesting to me to hear how people choose their "end goal". I chose mine after a conversation with my doctor...she said my healthy weight would be between 135 and 140. I am targeting 135 knowing that we have fluctuations so I will most likely be in that range as a norm. I however and saying that if my weight gets to 145 I am putting myself back on Phase I.

Hi Everybody!

Just wanted to check in and say hi. Today we celebrated my (ex) mol's 92nd birthday! My daughter and the baby twin girls and few other friends came and we took her out for a nice lunch. Once again I had to figure it all out.

I ordered the seared tuna (oh, so yummy!) with a romain lettuce salad. I noticed they had cooked cabbage as a vegetable, so I asked for some raw cabbage in my salad and also a side of steamed cauliflower! Such a wonderful meal! I hardly (well, sort of hardly) noticed the yummy appetizers they ordered, or some of my other favorite foods. Instead, I enjoyed what I ordered and enjoyed watching the babies!

Tomorrow we're going to the beach in Galveston. We'll see how that one gets handled.

Even though it's hard, I am NOT going to let this diet prevent me from doing all of the things I love to do. I know that each day my body is getting thinner and stronger and all of these things will become easier and easier.

Have a great rest of the weekend!

Good morning IPEERs,

Happy and joyous Sunday to you all! I have been crazy busy with a State baseball tournament and have missed keeping up with all of you skinny sisters...and brothers!!!! It is incredibly fun to just skim through though and see MAJOR transformations taking place...just amazing!!!

I have a concern that I am hoping some of you can shed some light on. Last week I had a zero loss. My body literally was up two pounds the day of my weigh in, and went down two pounds (which would have been a two pound loss for me) the very next day. So, I was okay with that. Since then, yes, I am checking the scale every other day, and my body is fluctuating like crazy...up two, down three, up four, down.....you get the picture. My boobs keep swelling and unswelling...and, it is not my TOM. What is going on?
I am a ketostix addict and my ketones are still registering.
The only changes that I have made in the last three weeks is the addition of turkey burgers to my diet...probably eating them 4 or 5 times a week as a mac. salad. I have been eating pickles...but i take diuretics for a medical condition which should take care of that.
I am feeling like I need boot camp to reboot my body. I have lost 43 lbs in 13 weeks, which is great, I feel fabulous, but two weeks is a long time...it concerns me, what is going on? Opinions, suggestions, rants, raves....all accepted!
Thanks friends!

... physically... I have been spending A LOT of time baking in sun and working at the tournament...I have taken extra protein as a precaution....

Happy Sunday to you! Just wanted to check in, still in Phase 4, but will be going back to P1 on Tuesday since may plans for San Diego got nixed. I really look forward to P1 again. It has been nice to get a preview of maintenance and the pitfalls it may bring. I gained 2 initial pounds as expected and then have maintained. It is definantly going to take structure for maintenance...but yes I am ready to start losing again ALOT!

... physically... I have been spending A LOT of time baking in sun and working at the tournament...I have taken extra protein as a precaution....

Is there sodium in the turkey burgers?
I had a long stall while on phase 1.

Then I realized I only lost when I ate out.
So I put my regular food into myfitnesspal and was surprised that I was getting almost no fat.

Then I realized I was eating the same thing all the time which was extra lean ground meat made into big mac in a bowl and taco salad. My main meal protein was always chicken breast or white fish. But what I had forgotten was that my ground meal choices were actually also chicken breast. For years I had taken ground turkey and mixed it with a bit of extra lean ground beef and froze it in individulal servings. The chicken breast takes on a beef flavor with the bit of ground beef.
I also was using the wf individual packets for salad dressing because they are so convenient. So I wasn't getting the olive oil either as I only used a bit for cooking.

So I measured out the olive oil and started having more lean beef and pork tenderloin and my loses picked up steadily again.
Our bodies need some fat to lose fat. IP is very low fat to start with and it is easy to go below even what is recommended in the program.

I keep reposting this as coaches never seem to pick up the fat content when people stall. They all seem to be about cutting back on the already low carbs allowed.

Newpath!!!, no words of wisdom other than have you checked your body composition? The two weeks where i was nursing 2-3lb gains (eventually whooshed away and then some), i actually increased my lean mass...and i will ALWAYS welcome that over a scale loss!

Heading back from the beach, ~6 hour drive back to Plano, got my spinach smoothie, crispy cereal pancakes, zucchini apples, and back up celery & pudding for hunger
emergencies.

I had a great long weekend, although i got hit with a HUGE snack attack yesterday! I think TOM is coming a little early btw, so i made a huge dish of coleslaw with my cabbage, white vinegar, stevia, mustard, limes, and some pepper & evoo...and ate a lot of it! So, definitely went over my veggies yesterday, but it kept my fingers out of the PB jar, so i will take it! I had 4 IPs a day over vacation (1 of which was restricted), and am feeling very bloaty so not thinking i am going to have stellar vacation loss...but i made great choices, kept up with my IP, and besides my coleslaw chowdown did pretty well! Its a lot easier when you have a full kitchen!

I set mine at 150 because losing more than 110 pounds seemed impossible. At this point, I'm going to decide if I want to lose more when I get to 150. That being said, I'm leaning toward revising my goal to 140. I'm just not positive yet.

I totally hear you as far as lowering goal weight. When i started i didnt believe i would ever get below 185/size 12...seemed like such a pipe dream to someone who has been overweight their whole life, now the 'dream weight' is something so attainable!

On a different adventure I have found myself floating into the 170's! Wow it is a little surreal because I haven't been this thin in years. Vacation is over:-( Now, back to Phase 1 and workforce reality! I was not 100% while on vacation, but the scale only showed a two pound gain. We had such a great time in Santa Fe, NM and the Farmer's Market, Sedona, AZ where my MIL turned 80 and we went on a hot air balloon ride over the red rocks, and in Durango, CO where we went river rafting. I also, got a few hikes in along he way. Please all say a prayer for me that I get back to 100% and continue on this amazing weight loss journey.
Tripmama-I agree that Phase 4 is scaring me. Self-control is obviously not a strong trait of mine or I wouldn't have needed to lose over a 100 lbs.

Pat

Pat, Oh, dear. I am afraid I am making many of the mistakes that you did : (
I now only eat shrimp or turkey burgers...I thought that the turkey burgers were considered beef-like. I have also been using WF exclusively....totally missed oil most of the time this week...though, my turkey burgers have fat...I just assumed that that counted towards some. .....and, I have packets still in tact..that should not be : ( I have had some late mornings where I slept in....In looking back those ended up being 2 packet days. I had my omelet with veges, a shake later in the day, and my dinner.
I hope that I have not messed up completely......:?: I have two days until WI.

I totally hear you as far as lowering goal weight. When i started i didnt believe i would ever get below 185/size 12...seemed like such a pipe dream to someone who has been overweight their whole life, now the 'dream weight' is something so attainable!

We missed you and Salmon! Glad to hear no one ended up in the river this year!

Lizz...
First of all, you look AMAZING!!! You look like you FEEL amazing....awesome! My muscle mass was up slightly last week, and I had a significant loss in fat last week, no lbs gone though.
Pat mentioned some mistakes that she has made in the past and, unfortunately, I have been making many. RATS!!! I am a bit discouraged, it is my own fault, but such a waste of time!!

You really need your oil & if you eat it, have some beef every now and then. I have it two or three times a week. You should measure out your oil and sprinkle it over you salad or other food. My clinic says this oil is in addition to whatever you use to cook your food.

I use my fitness pal to track my food in addition to writing my food down in my ip journal. My Fitness Pal has all the ip foods in it.

Tripmama and Salmongirl, I'd love to hear a little about your river trip. You can PM me if you don't want to write about it here.... Also, congrats, to you both on your amazing losses!

NewPath, stick it out. We all have made mistakes. You've lost over 40 pounds! That's fantastic! So now you'll add more evoo and a little more fatty meat. This does not detract from your wonderful success! Be thankful you now have this added information and move forward!

As for me, I had a beach day today! Went to Galveston with my daughter and the babies! It was great! I have some friends that have a place there, and when we were at their house I weighed myself. I'll be missing my WI tomorrow, and was really curious. According to that scale I lost another 3 pounds! So excited to be past the 20 pound mark! I'll WI on Wed or Thursday when I get home. :sunny::beach::beach:

Have a great sleep and a great 100% day tomorrow!

That is exactly what I did to. Your loss will pick up quickly New Path. I had to smile later to realize I thought for months I was eating ground chicken breast and thinking I was eating beef. I had always chuckled how hubby ate it and didn't realize it was chicken. Then I was fooling myself.
Like SM I used the oil I put on my salad was in addition to what I used in cooking.

Before IP, I wasn't much of a beef eater. I only ate ground beef, but since starting the program, I crave steak. My husband laughs at me because I always refused to cook steak, and now, I make it a couple of times a week. LOL!

Hi Pat! For cooking, do you use a spray can to coat your pan? I use 1 tsp two times per day when cooking and I was counting this as my oil. Now I'm thinking that I'm not getting my oil in. Maybe I should spray my pan and not even count this and then put the oil right onto my food to ensure I'm getting the oil. What do you think?

Good morning all, well it is Friday and a rainy one for me here in Florida. :rain: I love rainy days when I can stay home under a blanket on the couch with a hot cup of coffee (or a cold glass of water, he he). NSV: It is casual day at work and I'm wearing jeans that were my step downs that used to be tight, now I'm pulling them up all the time! Don't want to go shopping just yet though but if I have to there is a CATO where I can get some inexpensive jeans to wear during my transformation.

Have a great 100% OP day everyone.

Shathom- I just love CATO! Some great stuff on clearance, often! I have been going to the thrift store about once a months- getting things that fit, and things somewhat tight. Low and behold, after a few weeks- the tight stuff fits perfectly. Love this diet!

Yes I spray the pan with Pam and measure out my olive oil and put it on my salad. I don't count the Pam.

Earlier just when I realized I had gone down to no fat someone posted that their coach had told them not to use their oil allotment to cook as you don't get all of it in that way. The coach said it was best to put it on a salad as the leafy greens catch all of the oil.

This of course caused huge debate on the thread with many people disagreeing but it made sense to me. When I followed that advice it made a difference in my losses.

I'm on maintenance now and just had an other insight that should have been evident.

I have gained 4 pounds with my socializing and enjoying summer. I need to get right to work on losing that. Someone posted in the maintenance thread that it is all about keeping right on top of a small gain before it becomes a big gain and that is the secret to a successful maintenance. That is so true which I had never learned with other diets.

In my choices while socializing I was very careful about picking the lowest carb options.

My DUH moment came when I realized it is just as important to look for the highest protein choices . Of course that is what IP is all about. I have really slacked off in getting the amount of protein in that I need.
Because it has been so hot I was not into cooking the meat I usually have at the evening meal and too lazy to deal with the BBQ. I realized it is not called Ideal PROTEIN for nothing.

So this week I am focusing on getting my high protein shakes in at two meals in a day and picking my snack with the highest protein. I am optimistic that I will get a good part of my recent summer gain.

Again I am learning that if the plan is not going right look at what you are not getting in rather than what you can cut out.

I am hanging around the boards way longer than most people do in phase 4. This is because I have lost weight many times but have never kept it off. So phase 4 continues to be a learning experience, I have to get that part right this time.

My FIRST goal was to reach 250lbs once I hit that I changed it to 200lbs, I do believe I am sticking with that number because I know that I am really 170-180lbs with all of the loose skin I have. I am going to see the plastic surgeron at 3 today so we will go from there. I am in a size 18 pant right now and I am good with that. I guess I will see what the Dr says then go from there but honestly I think when that scale hits 200 I am done!

Havent' been around much this weekend the BF is in for only 4 days again so there is no time for the computer. This weekend we went to his family's in Belle Chase, was interesting to say the least AND I jumped on the scale this morning losing another pound! His daughter had a gastric bypass 2 yrs ago and has loss 160lbs, she is STILL a big girl but she eats horrible. I could see the difference in her and I when it comes to losing FAT. I am still toned pretty much, I mean I do have loose sking BUT its not flabby. She has flabby skin that just hangs, it was really weird for me to see. I guess that is the difference between losing weight healthy and losing weight unhealthy. We are losing our FAT where as she is just losing weight. I didn't say anything about my weight loss, he is the one that said did you tell them how much you have loss? I said no so he said tell them, when I did all of their mouths dropped in amazment. They said no way you could have loss that much, I just smiled and said yes I have loss 170lbs in 16 months, they wanted to know if I had surgery as well. I said NOPE, I am eating the IDEAL amount of protein that my body needs so that I loss my FAT and not muscle. They also wanted to know where my loose skin was....haha...I said body shaper's do amazing for that....lol....I was wearing my sundress looking fablous of course....hahah....couldn't see any flab.....lol...it was a good weekend overall but glad to be home and back on here.

Looks like everyone had a wonderful weekend so lets make it an even better week! Good luck on the WI's this week!

hey Meadowwheeler, aren't you gluten intolerant? How does it feel to you when you've eaten gluten products.

I jumped (without thinking) into white wheat flour during fun day and boy did I pay for it. I posted in the maintainers thread...I won't put the gory details in here but if your interested it's there.

Just wondering if pain, like PAIN, like 7 days of coughing or one million crunchies sound familiar. And then at 2 this morning (woke up to pee lol) it was pain in my lower abdomen, almost like a blazing trail of pain...ugh.

I've had wheat since I started maintenance, I just felt sluggish (it was only two pieces of toast) so I use sprouted grain...this was a DIVE into wheat for a 'free day supper'.

Let me know? Or anyone else who is diagnosed with gluten intolerance...or just self diagnosed themselves based on symptoms...??

Howdy 100%ers! Well, vacation is over...boooo - but it is kind of nice to get back to the routine. As soon as we got home yesterday afternoon (barely missed joysh in Galveston!) I unpacked then ran out to the grocery and restocked up on meat and veggies! My folks were with us this weekend, drove back to SA to unload their stuff & switch cars, and are driving back up to Plano this afternoon to spend another week with us (i.e., my son). My brother & mom have 2 weeks of vacation (dad retired), and I have a lot of chores lined up while my top-notch babysitters are available (ie., closet cleaning, shopping, returns, etc).

Writing everything that I eat really keeps me in line! I plan on continuing to keep a food journal after I phase off.

I am militant with myself to write down everything in my journal! I also post up daily in the 'What Are You Eating Today' thread, it helps me plan the day and I do go back and edit it if things changed. I then transcribe it to my 'official' coaches journal before my WI. I keep all of my journals too - I write down my activity, vitamins (I have a 7-day/week, 4 compartment/day pill box, so I know if I missed any), how I felt, any 'differences' (TOM, vacation, etc). I also redline my journal before WI with my notes & improvement areas - my coach loves that!

We just missed each other at Galveston! Glad you had a great time - it was seriously 'magical' to see my little guy at the beach for the first time - these little people just make me melt! I am sure the babies loved having grandmother around, IP is amazing, I seriously think it makes us better caretakers as it was way easier to chase the little one up & down the sand!

I'm telling you - the hidden cost of IP is the wardrobe changes!!! I don't know how to dress myself anymore. I am hitting up a consignment store this weekend with my last load of size 12s, hoping I can get some good exchanges there. My mom is coming with me, so it should make a fun girls day out shopping.

Hi everyone - I"m back - I never really left - stayed on IP - and did pretty well. The stress of everything probably slowed my losses, but I had a loss each week. There were times I struggled to stay OP, and I few times I slipped. I was fighting the emotional eating issue.

We, as a family, are dealing with everything one day at a time. That is all one can do.

Today is the day I get 100% back on track, so thought I should post.

Congratulations to everyone who has had losses, and good luck to everyone who has WI's.

I've learned a lot over the past month. I want to share a few of them here. Once you love someone, you never really stop. Say the things you need to say before it's too late (listen to John Mayer's, "Say"), most everyone, no matter how flawed, is really probably trying to do their best, life is fragile, value each and every day, every life has value, and the biggie. I never stopped loving my girls Daddy, and we should have tried much, much harder.

Have an okay day everyone!

Oh this made me laugh! Men....without even trying they can just shed the pounds.......

Good morning, 100%ers! :)

I'm really enjoying these last few days with the babies! Then I'll go home for a few days, WI, buy food, and leave early next week for my last trip of the summer. Then back to school. But first a trip to NY. (city and upstate)

BTW, The Protein Store is really great. Daisy ships stuff immediately. I think I'll have some food sent to NY so I don't have to carry it all on the plane. Usmvet gave me that idea.

...right onto my food to ensure I'm getting the oil. What do you think?
Jess

YThe coach said it was best to put it on a salad as the leafy greens catch all of the oil.
Pat

Pat and Jess, My coach also said to put the evoo on the salad. We can a little for cooking, but we also need some uncooked to be sure we're getting it. Some cooks out...

Good day-
I think I have finally recouped from my river trip. Joysh I would love to tell you all about my trip, it was so much fun! I will try to post a couple pictures too! The Salmon river is the longest undamned river in the lower 48. And from Salmon (the town) we have access to the middle fork of the Salmon and then the Main Salmon. The Middlefork runs into the Main. The Middlefork has more rapids and is a more technical river than the Main. This year we did the Middlefork and it was very challenging. The Middlefork Runs through the Wilderness area in Idaho which is an area that prohibits motorized anything. The only way to access this area is on foot, on horseback or by non motorized boats. Rafters camp along the river for usually 5 nights as they travel down the river. You can google some of the more popular rapids and get a taste of the adventure on YouTube. Google pistol creek rapid or velvet falls. However, while we are camping the whole time we are not roughing it. We can carry a lot of supplies in our boats so we have amenities like air mattresses, and great foods we cook in Dutch ovens. We eat well and relax. There are many hot springs along the way and the scenery is amazing!

Okay enough about that...I hope everyone is still excited about this diet, I know I am. The river trip wouldn't have been possible last year because I was too overweight! I love that my life is filling with so many more possibilities as my weight declines! BTW, I am officially now overweight and no longer obese! Yippee!

Have. A great 100% op day!

I'm happy you like it. Someone on here recommended it a while back, and I bought it. To be quite honest, I didn't use it much until a month ago. I was just using the IP journal. Then my coach started doing the body scan, and my lean muscle mass started dropping. So I became much more aware of how much protein/carbs each packet contains. My Fitness Coach lets me stay on top of that.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! That's fantastic. Good for you for staying OP while on vacation. I was just telling my coach that I've managed to lose weight both times I went on vacation. The way to do that is through planning. KUDOS to you for being so organized!

Hi Pat! For cooking, do you use a spray can to coat your pan?
I just drizzle some olive oil or grape seed oil in the pan. I don't add enough oil to affect my losses, just enough to keep my food from sticking to the pan and to aid in browning.

I'm happy that you had a good time visiting with your grand babies! We had fun on our trip to North Louisiana. I placed an order to the Protein Store on Saturday morning, and I received my order TODAY. Boy is Daisy ever speedy when it comes to shipping. I buy most of my food from my clinic, but I get all of my vitamins from the Protein Store and pick up an extra box of packets here and there.

I had my WI today. I lost 4.5 pounds for 102 total loss!!!!:carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot: I'm so excited. Eight more to go! I'm pretty sure that I'm going to phase off when I reach goal since I'll probably lose more during Phase 2. I am so EXCITED!

I'm back from my girl's week away and we had way too much fun. Unfortunately the scale reflected that, but thankfully I lost 3 of those pounds overnight. I knew a lot of the gain would be water, and sure enough. I also am doing the colon prep today for my colonoscopy tomorrow morning. :p That should help the scale go down even more. So once I finish the test tomorrow morning it will be back to phase 1 till my next vacation in two weeks. As much as I'm enjoying all these little trips, I will also be happy to put them behind me and just get back to phase 1 till I reach goal.

Hope everyone had a great week while I was away.

Thanks! I'm so excited! Even the fact that my coach told me that she's leaving the clinic didn't bring me down. I met her replacement, and she's really nice. However if she turns out to be a dud, no problem. My clinic has a bunch of coaches, so I can switch to one I know.

My Fitness Coach lets me stay on top of that.

hey Meadowwheeler, aren't you gluten intolerant?

I would imagine each person is different but yes PAIN is part of my symptoms. I get severe pain in my hips and wrists...spikey sharp paint in the bones that won't go away. I also get severe constipation and my skin starts acting like I am a teenager. I avoid gluten because the pain is so bad that it just isn't worth it. 1 week of accidental exposure took 2 weeks to get over. 1 meal of accidental exposure days a full day of pain but a couple days of constipation which brings its own kind of pain.

Yes that is what happens to me with wheat. I tried to reintoduce it in phase 3. I couldn't sleep all night from the extreme pain. But if you never had this when you ate wheat before IP it may be something else and you may need to get checked out.

MI am going to see the plastic surgeron at 3 today so we will go from there. I am in a size 18 pant right now and I am good with that. I guess I will see what the Dr says then go from there but honestly I think when that scale hits 200 I am done!

Hope your appointment went fabulous! Great experience with the BF's family! It is pretty amazing that anyone would opt for surgery without exhausting all healthful options. I hope she learns by your example and finds a healthy approach...that is the only thing that will help her long term.

You will bounce right back, you have had some awesome losses. I too enjoy little trips, but they do distract from the solid focus needed to be successful.
When I had a colonoscopy a few years ago, they told me- looks great- see you in a few years. I said thanks, but no I will not ever be back. Who knows- maybe I will, but see if you agree with the sentiment.

I am going to see the plastic surgeron at 3 today so we will go from there.

We are losing our FAT where as she is just losing weight.

how did your meeting go??? that is such a GOOD POINT to remember...we are losing FAT!!!

Thanks for checking in Rainbow! I was envious of your awesome travel bag all this long weekend at the beach!!!.

i agree with you liz...keeping my journal helps me stay focused...and helps me track my trends in eating....thus adverting binges!! i have been blessed that i have not had 1 single binge in this 12 weeks....which is totally different from any other diet program i have tried over the years. i bet your coach wishes EVERYONE was as organized and "in tune" as you are!!! YOU WOULD BE AN EXCELLENT COACH!!!!

my IP survival travel bag was great to have...everything at the ready, and easy to just carry inside the restaurants too....but i tell you what...having my meals planned ahead of time, for all the places we were eating, was my lifesaver!!! having it already typed out on little strips of paper meant i didn't even have to LOOK at the menu and be tempted!! the waitresses all loved the idea too, as they just took the paper right to the chef!!! and i have so say, so far every restaurant has been spot on with preparation!!! this is my last day away....and then i will be back to my wonderful routine at home!!! yeah!! :yay: and my own bed!!!

Good morning, 100%ers! :)
BTW, The Protein Store is really great. Daisy ships stuff immediately.

Awesome loss, Rainbow! Yay for holidays!

Have a wonderful day, everyone!:wave:

i totally agree joy....daisy rocks!!!!!!!! i love being able to order from her!! hope you have a wonderful day too!!!

Good day-
I think I have finally recouped from my river trip. There are many hot springs along the way and the scenery is amazing!Have. A great 100% op day!

omgoodness...that sounds like so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i would love to do that one day!!!! i would also love to 'FIT" in a kayak!!!!!! one day....that is on my after IP bucket list!!!

OMG ... I am so glad you shared your symptoms with us!! I originally did IP because of the chronic pain I was having with my Lyme ... lost weight, felt fantastic, phased off and within 6 months the pain was back. Pain lead to eating carbs for comfort ... the cycle began.

I restarted IP and within 2 weeks my pain had significantly gone down. A nutritionist mentioned that Lyme attacks the immune system (which I knew because of my thyroid issues ... My LLMD told me that), and that I may want to consider a gluten free diet when I phase off of IP.

I have two co-workers with siliac (sp) and mentioned gluten free diets, but none of my symptoms matched theirs. My pain includes unexplained bone pain (no arthritis), muscle fatigue, and unexplained inflammation.

I told a friend that I am almost afraid to go back to carbs because they seem to add to my pain ... the nutritionist suggested that I try to monitor which carbs set me off, and consider trying a gluten free diet.

Maybe she was onto something!

Shathom, Good luck to you today! My weigh in is this morning also. I met with my coach for the first time a week before the 4th of July but it was late in the day so I didn't actually start until Thursday. Since the next Wednesday was the 4th she had to schedule my next appt on Tuesday or Thursday for some reason she scheduled it for Tuesday so I know exactly how you feel about being cheated those 2 or 3 days. Aussieluver, I am in Day 3 of Phase 3 and my pain from fibromyalgia is back, sounds just like yours. Grain free is what it's going to have to be for me except for rare occasions. I've had 6 months pretty much pain free while on Phase 1, was hoping I could add grains back but definitely not!

Good Morning, All! I have a question about Ketostix. I've been using them every morning, just for fun, and I notice that some mornings are darker and other mornings, like today, it is pretty light. Do you think this means something? I usually drink about the same amount of water everyday and use the stick at the same time in the morning....I guess I'm just wondering what you think? Do you think its something I should pay closer attention to? My diet is pretty much the same food everyday and I haven't cheated at all. I'm not too worried because I know it's still showing that I have some ketones in my urine, but I'm just wondering why there are more sometimes and why there are less other times??

Good morning everyone, My appointment went well, all of my weight is in my "apron". He said I could stop now and be at 180lbs after the surgery. He would do a tummy tuck for $5,500 or a 360 for $7750 with a butt lift..ha. He also gave me the price of a thigh lift , $3,500 the 2 would have to be 6 weeks apart can't do both at the same time. He congratulated me on my losses and asked how I did it. I told him and he said he of course had never heard of it so I explained it to him. He said well that seems healthy and you look fabulous so I would say it works....lol....I left with a positive feeling knowing that where I am right now would be good enough for the surgery but I am not stopping until the scale says 200lbs THEN I will stop!

Good morning, everyone! I hope you have an amazing day today! :)

I had my WI today. I lost 4.5 pounds for 102 total loss!!!!!

SewingMomma! Congratulations! 102!!! That's amazing! :congrat::congrat:

I seriously think it makes us better caretakers as it was way easier to chase the little one up & down the sand!.

Wow, Liz, you are so organized! I think I'll need to get one of those 7 day pill boxes. I have forgotten to take my dinner pills twice this week. Getting the twins dinner, bath, and bedtime is a wonderful, sweet challenge and then my daughter and I are so pooped that we eat and plop on the couch to relax (and watch Fringe) and I forget about my pills. We are in bed so early because they wake up early!

I have found that it is so much easier to get up and down, even just 20 pounds lighter! Yesterday we went to the baby doctor and found that they are 18 pounds each! That's just about what I've lost. I can't carry them around for too long, so I'm beginning to understand why I feel so much lighter myself!

Good day-
I think I have finally recouped from my river trip. Okay enough about that...I hope everyone is still excited about this diet, I know I am. The river trip wouldn't have been possible last year because I was too overweight! I love that my life is filling with so many more possibilities as my weight declines! BTW, I am officially now overweight and no longer obese! Yippee!
!

Salmongirl & Tripmama, that river trip sounds fantastic! I LOVE to go camping in my tent. I haven't done too much river rafting, although I have floated down the Guadalupe several times. I usually camp in my tent for a week each summer at a state park with a big lake. Not happening this summer; I just don't want to have to get out of my tent 3 times a night to pee. But I am planning a little Adirondack trip in a couple of weeks with my sister. You are absolutely right that there are so many more possibilities when we are not overweight. I can't wait to try scuba diving and maybe even sky diving!

BTW, you two are going to be Two Hot Sisters very soon! Congrats on your losses!

my IP survival travel bag was great to have...everything at the ready, and easy to just carry inside the restaurants too....but i tell you what...having my meals planned ahead of time, for all the places we were eating, was my lifesaver!!! having it already typed out on little strips of paper meant i didn't even have to LOOK at the menu and be tempted!! the waitresses all loved the idea too, as they just took the paper right to the chef!!!

Ok, Rainbow, you probably have posted the items in your travel bag, but I' missed it. I'd love to see that list. I'm planning for next week in New York City. That will be a challenge.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day today!:wave:

Lisa, it sounds like you had a very positive experience and obtained a lot of information at your appointment. I think it's great knowledge to have as you will soon be moving into the next phase of your journey. :)

Yes, it was very positive and scary all at the same time. At least now I know that I am good where I am but I can still go more if I want too. The next phase is going to be a change but a good change that is for sure

Glad you had a good appointment. It is scary but exciting too! How does it feel when you think that you are pretty much "done". It still feels unreal to me most of the time, lol.

Back from my first Tuesday WI and low and behold, I lost 2 lbs in 5 days! My new coach is a nutritionist (sp?) and a fitness coach, this should be interesting:D

Wuv, wtg, I wish the fees here in FL were as reasonable as that, I'm saving my pennies right now, when the weight is gone, I'll be ready :dizzy:

Lunch time
