Good Morning Ladies:)

Heard on the radio that they are putting up a breathing alert for most of the north east. TG I got my walking done along the beach for a t least 10 mins.,tonight I will go on my exercising bike.

After Mary and I went to the movies we when to SOPRANO"S Italian Restaurant. I had a veal and eggplant parm combo, but I only ate 1/2 of it as the plate was piled high of the stuff. I put the rest in the freezer for another meal during the week.

Have to have my car inspected on Wed,hope that its not a long drawn affair as I have to meet a woman that I went to Medjugorji with at Friendly's for lunch at 1 PM. Than on Thursday I meet up with Rita again at another restaurant. How am I going to lose weight with all the eating out?????Good Question.

Oh by the way, my handyman called yesterday afternoon when I was out,so he must have been busy all last week, TG nothing serious happened to him.

VICKIE-Thanks for the new pages.

SANDRA-Sending prayers for Curtis's. surgery. How everything goes well.

Have a great day

morning chicks.

Sandra, Curtis is in our thoughts and prayers. Keep us updated.

Maryann, eating out will eventually pack on the pounds, even if we make healthy choices. We don't know how much oil, etc they put in the food.

Hi Vickie, bye Vickie.

paulny, I have no idea. I don't eat sushi.

I'm off to the big city to get some shopping in. I've been in the house since hubby went to his parents, other than meeting up with my granddaughter to pick up Kayleigh. We met half way and exchanged her, lol. Wanting to get paint for the craft room, but not sure what color. Eventually I'll have a bed in there too, so I need to think this through.

Paulny, I don't eat much sushi either. But, you can have it as long as you don't other rice or rice like foods during the day. You can find guidelines in the sticky section I believe.

Sandra, thinking of you.

Eating out requires a lot of discipline..salad, grilled chicken and no salad dressing or rolls. Me? Today I had a hamburger.

Hi,
In 2000 I was a Core member, did well, and eventually switched over to the regular WW program. Now I feel I would do better on the Core program again. Could someone please let me know how many weekly extra points we got on Core-----I know about the Core foods and even have my list, but I can't remember at all the number of extra points. My friend said we had them and I don't remember any extra points at all. Any input would be so helpful.
Thanks

Hi Judy....I'm on the run this morning but wanted to let you know that we had 25 extra points a week on the original Core program to use for non-food Core items for for ingredients in recipes that were non-Core. Hope that helps to get you started.

Talk to the rest of you Chicks later...probably tomorrow since I'm stuck at home all day!

Vickie, you are so kind! That was exactly what I needed to know. Thanks a million!
By the way, since rejoining WW is 2000, I have lost 50#. Not where I want to be and I guess some of us take longer Lol, but I'm doing okay.
Best of luck to everyone here.

Hi Ladies:)

Had to go get my inspection sticker this morning, but I got there late and I had to wait for1 1/2 hrs. to get the waited on. Now I have another appointment to change the oil along with the oil filter and check all the liquids.

Going to stay in doors, with the a/c on again for the second day in a row.

PAM-You are correct but guess what I now have two luncheons this week Wed & Thursday. I think its a summer thing with people that don;t like to cook on these hot & muggy days. Hope you had a great time shopping.

RHONDA-So I guess anything parm is not a good choose. Have to go back to my grilled chicken.

JUDY-:welcome: to the thread, sorry I'm not into sushi either.

Have a great day

Hi, thanks for the nice welcome. I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Judy (Itryharder) and I've been with www.3fatchicks.com since 2000. That year I hit my 10% and felt I'd just keep on going. I've changed my lifestyle plenty, but haven't hit goal yet. Lost 50# and have stayed about the same give or take ten pounds for the last year. I've got about another 40 or so to lose. Right now I post over at the Turtles site and have been doing that for years. If you gals have ideas about what you're actually eating for favorite breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, I'd love to hear. Good luck to everyone!

Welcome, Judy. I think I have seen you here on 3fc before. We're glad to have you here with us. This is a "neat" group of Chickies.

Rhonda, I hope you're healing well and can soon be back to your normal activities.

I want to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers. And, Rhonda, thank you again for the phone call. Curtis and I came home yesterday. He's doing amazingly well. Today I'm dusting and rebooting program. Sort of had a hiatus the last few days. I slept well last night here at home. That will help me get back on track, too.

Ya'll have a good day.

Good Morning Ladies:)

Last night we go a heavy wind minus the rain, but this morning it feeling a little cooler as there a soft breeze blowing down by the beach.so I go my walking done. No for a few for mins on the bike tonight and I be all set for committing to my exercising today.

JUDY-I used to go to WW but not any more as I was with them for 36 weeks the first 13 on the flex program where my leader didn't think it was working for me and she told me to go over to the core it worked for a while but than I gained it all back. After that I spoke to my doctor and he told me that I was insulin resistant and I would have to follow a stricter plan such as Atkins or other LOW CARB program. I'm now on watching calories and limiting carbs like bread, pasta rice etc. I do eat corn ,beets and other high carb veggies but not the starchy ones which are helping.TG I found a low carb bread that Pepperidge Farms put out is only has 5gr carb per slice.
My first 10% goal is 148 and than my second would be 133. Don't think I will ever reach the latter.

SANDRA-Your welcome,we all have to stick together as we are cyber sisters. We posted at the same time. Happy all is well, with Curtis and thinks are going back to normal.

Have a great day

Horrible weather here and it is affecting my breathing. I'm hiding in the air conditioning whenever possible. Severe drought in Illinois so produce from here will be an issue in the fall. They keep saying we'll have rain but it is very spotty and we don't seem to be getting much here in Tinley Park.

Ran errands yesterday but it is brutal to go in and out of the air conditioning. Ugh.

Today was home appointment/estimates with Service people. Cleaning lady and date night tomorrow. The weeks fly. I'm feeling quite disgusted with myself so I know I'm getting closer to portion control and healthier eating though I've made strides in the last couple of weeks.

Sandra, may we have a Curtis update?

Rhonda, how are you coming along?

Off to shower!

Vickie, thank you for asking about Curtis. He's doing remarkably well. We're both amazed. Normally, he experiences a great deal of nausea after the anesthesia wears off, but this time he hasn't had any at all. He got great care while at the hospital and is now resting at home. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts.

Hi everyone,

Well I have figured out the way to my goal weight -20 lbs. Work, work, and more work. Yesterday I worked 14+ hours with 6 hours of those unplanned (I did not bring dinner with me). Then today, wow I only worked 9 1/2 hours but it was non-stop. I even skipped lunch so that I could finish my work an hour and a half late. LOL! Now if I just stayed at work and never had any days off to indulge; I would be thin. I would be one crazy lady but thin.

We had some downpours last night and the roof in my department at work leaked and the water fried a very large three-door refrigerator. So all day today I was dodging ladders and our refrigeration guys.

Sandra- I'm glad Curtis is doing well! :)

Vickie- I'm not happy with myself and my eating lately either. Bread and core do not mix. A lot of bread and weightwatchers do not mix either. Oh well, no more bread in the house for me. Too tempting.

Maryann- I really dislike getting my car serviced. I'm lucky though, the service manager is a friend so I can get in and out pretty quickly.

Pam- I hope you found some cute stuff when you went shopping. I can't wait to hear about what you bought.

Rhonda- I would love a hamburger right now. I'm not talking a health one either ;)

Hello Sloan!

Jackie, bread is one of my problems, too. I love my bread! Tonight we had beans/ham, onion, peppers from our garden, and some cornbread. I figured 11 pts but am not 100% positive that's right.

Don't let yourself get rundown. That's what I did earlier this week and my eating went boinkers. :dizzy:

I, too, am rebooting! I had a great visit with my DD and her hubby, but food was out of control. I have done well today, and I will try to focus on only one day at a time. I am really mad at myself 'cause school starts in about two weeks, and I have not lost one single pound!

I'm glad to hear that the "patients" are doing well. Curtis and Rhonda have been in good hands.

Maryann and Vickie, stay cool! This heat is miserable :dizzy:

morning chicks.

Sandra, so happy to hear Curtis is doing so well. Bread is not my downfall. It's the snacking at night that is causing havoc. I do fine during the day.

sloan, I don't think I'm ever going to get the craft room in order. It's a never-ending job. Baby steps.

Jackie, missed meals would mean a binge for me.

Vickie, I stay inside with this heat. We are in the high 90's again this week.

Maryann, I saw on news today about freak storms along east coast. Did you get any of the hail?

Where is Rhonda? Hope she is okay.

Hi Judy and welcome to our little world.

I might make a trip to Lowes to get a shelving unit for the craft room. I need more space to store all this STUFF. I want to paint, but I'm not good with the roller. I'm a trim girl. Hubby usually does the rolling but he's still at his parents. I might just get the paint and wait for him to do it.

Have a good day

Pam, I'm not a trim or roller girl. You're a talented lady.

We're up this morning. I am finished with my watering. Also, Curtis is rebandaged. Now we can just "chill" the rest of the day. A gf and I are planning to shoot Tues afternoon. I think Curtis will be able to go to the local archery shop by then.

I weighed this am and surprisingly haven't gained. Life is good!

Doc says I'm healing well. I have one more week with this boot, then I can probably get rid of it. I will be able to swim and ride the recumbent bike.

The stitches are absorbed, the bandage is off. I am to wear a sock, and 2 Ace bandages wrapped around foot and ankle...and NOT ONE STEP without the boot. I can now drive with a special shoe they gave me, but I have to wear the boot to the car, change to the shoe, and then do it all in reverse. He said no more that two hours on my foot in any one day. The rest of the time: in a chair with my foot up. Frankly it still hurts too much if I do much more than that anyway.

I am going nuts!!! But, OK, I'm grateful. It will heal and I'll be better off for it. Thank goodness I have a few recliners to choose from at home.

Now, I'm taking a pain pill and going to bed.

Rhonda, it sounds like you're coming along fine. It's just going to take time and patience. Same here with Curtis. He hasn't been taking many pain meds. I don't think he took any yesterday, but he's had 1 so far today.

Nancy, :woohoo: on those pants being baggy. Also for making your work decision. PT sounds good.

We had fish for lunch. Curtis just picked at his. I ate mine. He's dropped 5 pounds so far. I am encouraged by this to do better myself. Today's been a little hard for him. He's napping right now. I think he needs to take more pain meds. He's stubborn.

Where are the rest of you? I miss you and am looking forward to seeing what's going on in your lives. Hope you're all out there having a great day and will pop in here soon.

hello chicks.

Sandra, I'm like Curtis. Hate taking anything like pain pills. My sis, the nurse, told me the same thing Rhonda said about keeping your pain in check to heal faster.

Rhonda, glad you are taking it easy. Before you know it, you'll be back to working out everyday.

I think my sinuses are acting up today. My throat is a little sore and both ears are tender to the touch. I never made it to Lowe's yesterday. Got ready and then dreaded the long drive and stayed home. I dug out a quilt I need to finish and been working on it. I am almost done. Have a little of the border left and then the binding and it's done. I am signing it and putting away for Kayleigh.

Nancy, what is the secret to losing? I'm gaining, slowly. I've been a slug since hubby is gone.

Good Morning Chicks! We are having a really tough summer here in Chicagoland....extreme heat and drought. It's hard to be outside for any length of time especially since the humidity has been high.

Jim and I are doing well though Brodie had another anxiety type seizure or spell of some kind yesterday afternoon and we ended up at the Vet with him. Blood and urinalysis should be back today. This is the second attack like this. My eating was ok despite being a stress eater.

In between all that, our treadmill died while Jim was on it. So now we are shopping for a new treadmill. Anyone have a make or model they love? We are looking at ProForm from Sears. Sears has many models on sale right now with a no interest payment plan. That should help.

We had a birthday party to go to today for one of my Great Nephews. I'm going alone since we feel a bit squeamish about Brodie. He may never have another spell but we'd just feel better since it just happened yesterday.

Lordy.

Hugs and love to all of you.

We've been having a lot of rain lately. Mostly storms passing through and heavy down pours. Grass is growing like crazy and hubby is gone. He is going to try to come home today.

Hi Ladies:)

Sorry for being MIA for two days,Had lots to do,Happy Belated birthday to RAGS and SHARON. hope you both had a wonderful day.

Got on the scale this morning and I'm down to 164 lost the two lbs I gained in June when it was my birthday.

Otherwise nothing new, the temps up here are back to normal again 77 %,no movies tomorrow as all theaters around us haven't changed their movies,so we are deciding whether to go out and so some tourist things like gift shopping and than out to dinner at Popponesset, a little south of Mashpee.

Maryann- I really dislike getting my car serviced. I'm lucky though, the service manager is a friend so I can get in and out pretty quickly.

JACKIE-You're lucky indeed to have a friend look after your car. I was surprised that Toyota is now asking me to come back 3 x's first for the repair than second for the inspection and now on Tues for to check the liquids like antifreeze, coolant for the A/C oil, etc they could have done that while inspecting the car.

SLOAN-I did stay coll by staying in the house for the HHH days of summer with my a/c on all day and night long, can't wait for my electric bill. TG the temps are done w to normal again right now its 77.

PAM-No we didn't get that storm,we heard the thunder and saw the lightening but the storm headed to the north of us on the Cape and Plymouth. We go a tease of rain but not enough for the grass or flowers.

RHONDA-Glad to hear your boot is coming off next week,it must be so uncomfortable in this hot weather.

NANCY-I was MIA for a few days also, congrats :carrot:on losing a few pounds I believe that low carbing is the way to go. for me anyway. Have your cousin to serve Dreamfield Pasta as m is only 5 carbs that effects the blood sugar.

VICKIE-Hang in there make sure you drinking lots of water ,this year is the 3rd worst drought year we had here in the states.

Have to go and start my chore, have a great day

We went to church but only stayed a few minutes before we had to head home. Curtis' shoulder started grabbing. He is taking his pain meds now. Thank you for encouraging him to do so. That helped a lot getting him to take them.

Now I'm really wanting something decadently sweet to eat. I (prodded by my evil side) asked Curtis if he wanted me to bake a cake. He didn't want one. Bummer! My good side won't let me make one for me. I may have a frozen banana in a bit. Life goes on.........

I'm glad that Curtis will take the meds, they really do help and there is nothing to be gained by suffering the pain. My foot was so painful last night I almost cried. I am really limiting what I do and how much time I am up, but not enough I guess.
