I hope no one minds that I've started this thread!

Today's plan:

Breakfast: Protein shake (and late, 11 a.m.) so no morning snack
Lunch: chicken salad on 2 cups lettuce
Midafternoon: deviled eggs and sliced green pepper
Dinner: Chicken and asparagus cooked in foil (Hobo Chicken, one cookbook has it)

B: V8, omelet w/ asparagus & mozzarella, coffee w/ milk 1%
S: string cheese, 1 oz almonds
L: broccoli & chicken stir fry
S: cucumbers & hummus
D: eggplant lasagna
D: sugar free fudge bar

Welcome, dinomama, and good luck!

My plan for today is the same as for yesterday, except dinner:

Breakfast: Protein shake (and late, 11 a.m.) so no morning snack
Lunch: chicken salad on 2 cups lettuce
Midafternoon: deviled eggs and sliced green pepper
Dinner: meatloaf! (I never miss the breadcrumbs. I just add sauteed mushrooms and onions to the meat.) Probably with broccolini.

I stayed op day 1....didnt do my walk but got in the pool with the kids and really ran and jumped , swam with them
B; egg bake w/broccoli and ham
snax; cuke and cottage cheese dip
lunch: another greeky salad
Dinner: chops on the grill with grilled zucchini

L: salad w/ vinaigrette, leftover chicken/broccoli stir fry
S: celery & 2 tbsp almond butter
D: boca burger, salad w/ vinaigrette, cottage cheese 2%
D: sugar free fudge bar

Xan, what is the protein shake that you have in the morning? Do you buy it pre-made or do you make it yourself? If so, what is the recipe? Thanks!

Some may disapprove of this :) but I drink an Atkins shake. I think it's 20 grams of protein, and 900 mgs of potassium. There's nothing quicker :)

I will have to check them out, school starts again soon and I know I won't have time to make an omelet every morning, so I am looking for fast ideas :)

They're in most grocery stores, at least in the DC area. I know they're not beachy (they're prepared foods, and they have chemicals in them) but it's better than cereal or a sausage mcmuffin :) Good luck.

After a fattening bday week end, and an only ok monday... today was back on track.

Skim milk
SB Egg w/icbinb dab
Few honey dew melon chunks

Yogurt

Hotdog salad

Cheese string

Chicken Caeser salad w/ parmasean & homemade dressing....... yum!

eta: Since my birthday was last weekend, I allowed myself a few cheats (mainly a slice of cake... but the odd other thing). Because of this, I didn't bother with the weekly weigh in last week... hopefully, by the time this weeks weigh in takes place I will have undone any damage the old bday cake may have caused.

I'm not encouraging them, just answering a question :) That's why I just posted "protein shake."

Had a horrible night....the carb cravings were so severe..I had some smore makin's in the pantry for my litlle ones sleep over Wed. and got the stuff out....and put it back! I know carrots arent op for phase 1 but I ate
those and some ranch.....gotta be better than the 'smore 's....also craving beer too:)..I read a article about an athelete wo gained weight on purpose and then lost it again..he said the carb cravings were the worst thing he ever.. B;eggs/snx; red pepper and dip/lL;taco salad/D;zucchini lasagne

Looks like Phase 1:

B - Coffee with us almond milk. Protein shake* (the remains of my coffee, prob 1/2 a cup + 6 oz silken tofu + plain vanilla protein powder + 2 cups spinach + ~1 Tablespoon sf vanilla Torani syrup + ice) - it turned out to be gigantic!
L - Mixed greens salad with shrimp. Iced green tea.
S - Broccoli and orange pepper strips with hummus, Tofurkey & dill pickle roll ups
D - Poached tilapia. Riced cauliflower. Cucumber & yogurt & walnut salad.
dessert - Cocoa-roasted soy nuts :love:


* BTW - if I have to get a protein shake on the go, I use the Pure Protein kind; the ingredients list is *relatively* OK (first two ingredients are protein and flavoring). I don't consume these regularly but use them when the choices are limited - for example, I take these when camping.

I can relate to that! I ate some white bread and pretzels this weekend - OMG Monday and Tuesday were horrible with cravings. I binged (kind of) on two ridiculous junky items yesterday, like almost an entire day's calories on stupid non-nutritious crap. ARRRRRGH. Very annoying. So I just had minestrone soup last night for dinner and am back on Phase 1 today.

I find if I increase my protein for a couple of days the cravings go away more quickly, probably because I feel so "full".

Now to just remember that the "few bites" of white bread or whatever are SO NOT WORTH IT :D

B - Coffee with skim milk....green rhubarb shake (Greek yogurt, sf rhubarb compote, 1 t. cinnamon, sf vanilla Torani syrup, 2 c. spinach)
L - Arugula and Romaine lettuce salad with shrimp and lemon/olive oil vinaigrette. Dried green beans. Iced green tea.
S - Broccoli/orange pepper strips with hummus, Tofurkey and light cream cheese and green onion roll-ups
D - Crabmeat-stuffed flounder, cauliflower "couscous", grated turnip salad (sadly, an all-white meal!)
dessert - Homemade cocoa-roasted soy nuts

* has 2 slices of pizzas last night,,,ah such is life...I used to eat 4 or 5 so I did do a little better.....making my menu for next week..looking for a good fakeroni and cheese recipe using cauli....
