100 lb. Club - an apology

View Full Version : an apology

I came here 4 months ago looking for support and more so, a quick fix.

I got neither.

But I would like to make a public apology for all the negativity I brought fourth, especially in a few posts here.

With that I will say that I started my weight loss/healthy life plan on Feb 5th and have lost 21 pounds since!!!!!!! .

I am here for anyone who needs it. I can still use the motivation and hope to help others along the way.

My ultimote goal is 100 lbs., but I am not stretching myself that thin just yet.

Thanks and sorry again!

I used www.calorieking.com

had them come up with a menu for me. I followed it [1200-1400 calories a day] faithfully for 2 whole weeks, then started to learn about portions and the like and was able to make my own meals and eat other things.

It's been great. I know what to snack on and I do things in moderation. Like today, a co-worker brought in SPONGE CANDY and instead of eating 7-8 pieces, I had 2.

I've been real proud of myself!

OMG - sponge candy! I haven't had that in about 20 years!

03-31-2003, 03:50 PM
Sponge candy??

03-31-2003, 04:06 PM
that's new to me too, what is sponge candy?

03-31-2003, 04:45 PM
I think they call it fairy food here? It's caramel colored & rock hard, covered w/either dark or milk chocolate. Soooo good. :T

I've never heard of it either.

Welcome back Jenne. I'm glad that you decided to rejoin us. Congratulations on your awesome weight loss.

Ok this is funny I was just rereading your post in the profiles yesterday and wondered if you were still around. Congrats on the loss so far and welcome back!!!

LOL thanks

Sponge candy

How to describe it...it's chocolate outside and inside it's this light airy, hard stuff. It's odd, but YUMMY!

here is a link with a photo:

us Canucks would think of it as a "crunchie bar" I had one when I was back in Canada in January. Sucked the chocolate off then ate the rest :T

Well I was on a vacation of sorts (just being lazy!!) and never got to know you the first time, so here goes.

Welcome to our little part of the world, hope you hang around this time. And GREAT JOB on your loss!

I was wondering what sponge candy was. I think that's the stuff we call "sea foam." Maybe it's an east coast/west coast thing??

oooh, that link sure looks good. i'd never heard of it either.

I don't know -- different names when things aren't a name brand. My friend got it from Buffalo, NY. Ahhhhh. How I miss upstate.

I will be sticking around. Last night tho, I didn't start my excersise. Drama ensued and well, I decided to wallow in self pity.

And it only involed a 30 calorie, sugar free twin ice pop!

I wonder if sponge candy is like the center of a Violet Crumble. ANybody?

04-02-2003, 10:08 AM
Violet Crumble???

Oh gosh, what have I done???

04-02-2003, 11:34 AM
I never liked violet crumbles. I think that you may be right though. It looks right.
