Morning! If anyone is just browsing thru the clubs, feel free to post and say hello! We are a small group of ladies who believe that focusing on smaller goals as in "Ten Pounds At A Time" is easier to accomplish. No pressure (unless you want it!) and nice people ... and remember, slow and steady does win the race!

I hope that you don't mind that I sarted a new thread -- I will be back in a few to chat -- want to close off the last one!

Morning Everyone!
Meg, I am so excited for you and today's interview -- good luck and if you get a chance please let us know how it went. I didn't realize that you were into scrapbooking -- that has been something that really intrigues me. I know some ladies who are so into it and it can become an expensive hobby. Whenever I am in AC Moore I always poke through their scrapbook section. Perhaps some day .... All my fingers are crossed for today for ya! :)
Pam, sounds like you had a nice weekend despite not feeling well. Hope it's nothing that's planning on lasting too long -- hope ya feel better this morning.
Cathy, I love your new pic -- yep, that's our Cat! I wish I could get that reality weight loss show you talk about. I bet it has great ratings with women -- that's one I would watch. Not too big on the others but DH likes them.
Let me post and then I will be right back!

Ok, sitting here with coffee mug in hand getting fixed to start the day. Had a very nice weekend. Katie called and said she was coming down to spend the night Friday so that was an unexpected but very pleasant surprise. I took her shopping Saturday for clothes and she went back home with a nice little haul for Spring.
Kohls had an awesome sale and for every $50 you spend, they give you a $10 bonus coupon to use another day. I bought a few things for myself and ended up with $50 in coupons -- Russ needs a spring jacket so I have plans for it already. I love that store when they have a sale -- everything is usually 40-50% off.
Sunday I just veged. Took a nice long nap in the afternoon and then we watched a spooky movie -- The Ring -- weird. I was in a "down in the dumps" mood so Russ came home with roses and an angel to cheer me up -- it worked! :smug:
Didn't exercise or watch points this weekend -- but today's a new day and I am psyched tp get back on track. I did buy clothes one size smaller so even if the scale isn't moving very much, I am losing inches. All the more reason to get back on track today -- still want to fit into all the new tops I bought!
Ok, let me go light a fire under Chris or he will be late for school again -- I'll be back later.
Everybody, get up!

Terry - there are so many things I want to respond to in your posts, but I can only think of myself right now, so PLEASE forgive me!
I am on pins and needles. They offered me the job on the spot. I am ready to throw up because I am in the middle of negotiating the $$ (I can negotiate all the media in the world at my job, but can't do anything when it comes to myself)!!!
I am so nervous I can't think straight. I called them with a counter, and they are going to call me back. I just want to die right now. I have already smoked 4 cigarettes, and I don't even smoke! I don't know what to do - if you can't tell from my very stream of consciousness ramblings right now. PLEASE keep your fingers and toes crossed for me.
Then I will have to give my notice, and I HATE confrontation of any kind. I don't think I can take it - and I don't have any of my anti-anxiety drugs with me to relax me. I just might break out into a rash all over my body before the end of the day.
Okay. I can't stay here any longer. I am going to go to visit my friends office. Maybe hearing about her weekend will make me forget the anguish I am in right now.
Talk to you later - when I have an answer.

Meg -- just running out the door and saw your post! Please, relax -- I know easier said than done (and this is coming from a Zoloft/Xanax user so I kind of know how you feel). Can you just go out and take a walk to clear your head before you burst?
Look at it from the stand point that if it's meant to be, it's meant to be -- sometimes you just need to do the very best you can do and then let fate take it's course. Try to tap into all that "cool" that you muster for work when negotiating rates, etc and then transfer it to your current situation.
I am so happy for you and will keep every appendage crossed until I hear from ya! Feel like a human pretzel at the moment!. :)
Good luck, girlfriend!!
Always, Terry

:drill: GOOD MORNING BUDDIES :) are you ready to kick some fat cells butts? i am..i'm pumped like Terry :D no thoughts of chocolate in my head and i only had 5 beers all weekend  (who said that?)
I had a low energy day yesterday too Terry :( so i could only manage 2 miles on the hill climbing program and 1 mile on the weightloss but i'm happy that i did that. Russ is such a sweetheart for doing that for you yesterday  what exactly is scrapbooking? i thought Meg meant that they were just sticking photo's into a scrapbook..what else is involved to make it expensive? I like your pic too Terry..we're getting brave are'nt we? posting our "mugshots" i just posted that one for a bit of fun. Terry do you get the discovery health channel? because i noticed that 'Taking it Off' was listed on there one day last week, and yet it was'nt on the Life Network like it usually is..i just take potluck and switch it on on sunday mornings just to see. Come to think of it the American channel will be different to the Canadian one (i think) because i was watching Extra a few weeks ago and they were talking about a program that was coming on following a group of people on diets but this one was like a contest (i think) to lose the most weight..it looked fun and i thought i would subscribe to the channel but when i checked the listings it was'nt on here so that must be on the American channel (are you totally confused now..LOL) The girls over on UK fat chicks are watching one in England called "Diet Trials"...each participant follows a different plan..it is quite funny listening to how someone was caught raiding the fridge at midnight LOL...and they put a truck driver on the slimfast diet of all things..now he would have been a much better candidate for Atkins or W.W. the poor guy is starving LOL.
I've got the Womens Channel on at the mo' and there is a yoga class on called 'Breathing Space' it is so relaxing and it looks like something that i could do..i will have to tape this one in future and give it a whirl...BBL

Yo!
Super duper sized cuppa Earl Gray this morning -- too tired to make coffee. I even slept a bit longer this morning -- nightmares. :fr: Weird to say the least.
OK, did get in my 2 mile WATP and just a tad of the treadmill yesterday -- I am just trying to remember how good it felt so I can do a repeat today. My brain just keeps saying "bed!"
Meg, hope all is well :) .
Cathy, I need that burst of boot camp energy you had yesterday:drill: :cb: !
OK, here's the skinny on Scrapbooking 101!
Scrapbooking is a huge hobby and many people do have scrapbooking parties, etc (akin to quilting parties -- don't do those either!). If you ever go into a craft store check out the photo album section because you'll see all the crafty things available. First you craft your own album, Katie made a few with silk covering and ribbons. Then, you you let your imagination fly with the inside pages -- you can organize them into themes, etc. You design your pages, print captions for each pic, design photo borders, etc -- just about anything goes. Some people make them as gifts designing just the cover and naturally leaving the inside pages blank. Some can sell for $75-100 depending upon how ornate they are. Looks like fun but way to time consuming for me right now. There, you may have a pop quiz on all this at anytime!
We are getting way too brave for our own good, Cathy! Actually, I think if we ever got together, we would get into too much trouble -- our men would have to rescue us :dizzy: .
I'll have to check out the cable listings for Discovery and some of the other channels we have for those programs. Good idea there.
I have two Yoga tapes -- Yoga AM and Yoga PM. The morning one is pretty cool because it's mostly easy stretches and positions. The one for when you are wide awake and masochistic would leave me in traction with all the complicated positions! :smug: In fact, (senior moment here) I think I gave them to Katie ....
Hmm, I was hoping Meg would check in as I was worried about her -- and excited at the same time for her and the job offer.
Russ is a sweetheart -- a keeper -- believe me though, there have been times! He's a mix of English, Irish, and Swedish blood (as in very easy going) and I am Russian/Italian and let my emotions fly. Probably explains why we have been married 27 years -- complete opposites in some ways but we do balance each other out I guess.
Oh, oh, hot flash surfacing here -- maybe it's the tea??? :yikes:
Howdy Pam and everyone -- hope all is well!
Hey, I just felt my first caffeine rush -- good ol' Earl Grey does it everytime!
Have a great one ladies, and I will check back in later.
Alwys, Terry

Congratulations Meg!!!! We're so happy and proud for you. When do you start the new job and what exactly is it that you'll be doing? We need details woman! :)
Good Morning Terry...I'm happy that Earl Grey was good to you this morning...send some of that energy up here for me okay?
Late night talking with my girlfriend. Her husband left last night and I'm not sure he'll be coming back..they've got alot of stuff to work out and he has no desire to work on any of it. He seems very happy to just abandon his entire marriage and darling child because he doesn't want to be tied down. My heart just breaks for her and Makenzie and there's not a darn thing I can do to fix any of it. Just be there when she needs me. *sigh* being a grown up really sucks sometimes.
I am finally feeling better so I was able to work out last night so that's making me feel better. I'm also back to journalling and for my sake girls...ride me hard about doing it!
Have a good one and I'll pop back in later,

Hi Ladies..decided to get brekky..my work-out and lunch outta the way before i checked in because if i come on here first thing in the morning everything else gets put off  so here i am fed..exercised..sitting in my lycra shorts (not a pretty sight  ) and feeling pretty good for someone who has'nt slept a wink all night..got up at 4.30am to watch movies because i was sick of watching the clock go around..i was sure i would have slept a little too because the night before hubby fell asleep in front of the tv and left it on and it woke me at 1am so i was blooming  and made sure i made a lot of noise when i came down to switch it off..i was that annoyed at being disturbed that i did'nt get to sleep again. not that it bothered him he just woke up said "Huh" and then turned over again..MEN!
I was going to tape that Yoga program this morning but they were doing upward dogs and downward dogs and bending into all sorts of positions..not like yesterdays..so i turned the tape off i don't want to end up in traction either Terry.
Scrapbooking sounds fun but i'll stick to just shoving photo's into the plastic wallets thanks :dz:
Pam..that is such a shame about your friends marriage..more so with Mackenzie being so young  hope they get thru it.
Hey Meg :balloons: CONGRATULATIONS! are you going out to celebrate? oops..just thought of something you may have to actually WORK for this company

Pam, I am so sorry to hear about your friend. That totally sucks! The same thing happened to my friend about 9 months into her marraige. He had the nerve to EMAIL HER FROM WORK to tell her he didn't want to be married anymore, and that he did not want to go to counseling etc. Marraige just didn't end up being what he thought it would be. What a jerk!!
Good job journaling, and I am glad to hear you are feeling better!
Terry - You definately are in the know about scrapbooking! It intimidates me WAY too much. I just use a black album with black pages, gold photo corners & gold lettering. Nice and clean - so if I give one as a gift to my husband it isn't too girly!
Since it is my last week in the office I went and splurged at lunch today. Carbo loading BIG time!
Only 25 more minutes until I get to leave for the day. I have already packed my office - all my photos are in a box. My one friend that I have left here TOTALLY laughed when she came in.
Hope everyone has a great day - I need to get busy getting back OP!
Have a good one!

Cat - we were posting at the same time! You are right - I WILL ACTUALLY HAVE TO DO WORK!!!!:dizzy:
I don't know if I know what that is like. You know when you start a new job you feel overwhelmed? It will be DOUBLE for me!:o I am excited though. To finally use my mind again will be wonderful!:D
Details: the company takes commercials (you ever heard of the Handi Stitch?) and makes them into email commercials. I will buy all of the email names. I think I might be bordering on spamming here (j.k) :dizzy: Anyway, they sell like 500,000 products a month. I will get the same money I get now as salary, but also get a commission based on how many products I sell from my email lists. The better I am at media buying the more $ I make. I apparently have unlimited funds for buying lists, so I can definately make pretty good $$. It sounds fun. And ANYTHING is better than being here. Even if it doesn't work out, I would have better luck finding a job on unemployment. It has been very restrictive looking for a job while I have been working here.
Thanks so much for your support guys. And think of me next Monday when I actually start working again!

Morning Ladies! :hyper:
OK, where did my nice Spring weather go to?? It's been so chilly these past few days that I actually had to go back to wearing a jacket. Plus, :yikes: snow showers have been happening on and off for the past few days. Not nice!
Meg, your new job sounds very interesting -- aside from the weekend, it doesn't seem like you are having much time off between jobs. As you can tell, we are all very happy for you :) .
Cathy, at least your photos make it into albums, mine get thrown into a box! :dizzy: But, it's fun to browse thru that box with the kids. Hey, speaking of photos, any new ones of Olivia lately??!
Morning, Pam, and like the others, I was sorry to hear about Mackenzie's parents. Hopefully, they will work things out. It's tough to stand by and watch a friend's marriage dissolve, but somethings are way beyond our control. It does make us appreciate our own marriages a bit more -- too bad it has to be from watching people we like and love go thru such misery though.
Hey, Cathy, those nasty hormones keeping you up at night?? :tired: Can you imagine what it would be like if we didn't have TV and computers to occupy ourselves with when we have nights as such?! Yep, told ya yoga and traction go together!
Slept all night thanks to Tylenol PM -- ever try those little babies, Cathy? They actually work very well. Takes me awhile to fall asleep so I take them a few hours before, but once I fall asleep, I stay asleep. Aside from T-PM, vitamins and prescribed meds, I take very few over the counter meds though.
Did get in just a little treadmill yesterday as I was running very late for work. No energy at night when I come home so if I don't get my workout in during the morning, it's lost for the day.
Well, onto check email and a WW board I belong to -- I love MY time in the morning! :)
Have a great one today :) :) :)

Morning Ladies
Terry..i too have a shoebox :o full of pics and a few empty albums sitting around too  its one of those "i keep meaning to do jobs" and i will do them one day  probably when i'm 70 years old (i might have time then because all of this (dieting i mean) will be a distant memory) i'll be sat there in my recliner with my breasts and a shoebox on my lap filling photo albums, what a thought!! i've set myself up for a nice day with that thought have'nt i? (hope i'm at goal before then!!)
I've been doing alright the past 3 days then last night i went grocery shopping and grabbed a kingsize mars bar for hubby, then i saw one of my favourite bars (cadburys orange choc) so i broke down and bought myself one with the intention of having one or two pieces per day..it started off as one or two then ended up being the whole 100g bar while i watched John Travolta in Domestic Disturbance...i enjoyed it tho' ;) the chocolate and the film...and i've just checked my calorie count and its still only 2000 cals so it could have been a lot worse.
Terry i'm taking 5HTP at the moment..i just started another course a couple of days ago and i think they're just kicking in because i slept a few hours last night :cloud9: and i feel better for it..i have'nt tried Tylenol PM but i'll keep them in mind..i've tried all the other OTC sleep aids and they don't work for me.
I have'nt any new pics of Olivia yet and i have'nt heard from Jacqui either..she could be jetsetting around the world now so she won't have time between that and looking after Olivia to bother about her "old" mum  i'll drop her a line.

Good Morning Ladies,
Hope all is well with you on this Friday morning. It's very cold here in Edmonton today and I am not amused. April 1 we awoke to snow and then it snowed again all day yesterday and today is a lovely windchill of -23. Mother Nature apparently forgot that April 1 ended 3 days ago :)
Things here on the homefront are hectic to say the least. On a good note Erwin's Dad was released from the hospital yesterday so hopefully that transition of being home again will flow smoothly.
My parents are coming up tomorrow to stay for a week and I love them dearly but I am nervous about it as I know it throws my schedule off but we will get through it.
Sorry to cut this short but I've got to get ready for work. I just wanted to come and say hi to you all and let you know I've not forgotten about you.
Have a good day,

Good Saturday Morning,
It's quiet here so far...about another hour until the chaos begins :)
Parents should arrive in the afternoon, off to the surprise birthday party for my sisters FIL, church tomorrow, grocery shopping, laundry and a family dinner at 5:00. Somewhere today I'll try and find time to finish my assignemt for school and start studying for my final in the next two weeks. Mom and Dad will be leaving on Thursday night so we'll have the house back to ourselves then. I love them but a week of house guests, no matter who, is always trying.
Weigh in today was okay. I'm getting the hang of it. I added roughly 3-4 points a day and went up a pound so I don't figure that's too bad. I haven't exercised all week either so that's got to change.
Hope you all have a good weekend. Come out and play....I miss you guys and feel silly talking to myself (although some would argue I just love the sound of my own voice  )

Morning!
Awesome, Cheri, on the weight loss! I seem to have hit a snag and need to get myself motivated. I just feel so bloated today and of course that always translates to feeling fat :dizzy:. I refuse to give up on weight loss because that just means a huge weight gain. I will do this, I will do this, I will do this .....
Howdy, Ms. Pam! I hope all goes well with your parents this week, at least try to relax a bit and enjoy their visit. I was very happy to hear that your FIL is home!
I must admit that we do not have anything even close to your Canadian weather right now but it is icy out and very cold -- we really got teased with Spring weather just last week too. Poor Katie, she lives in New Hampshire, and got a foot and a half of snow yesterday with more coming today. She is not a happy camper!
Meg, I will be thinking of you Monday as you start your new job! I can't wait to hear how you like it .... :)
Cathy is AWOL because she is upgrading her computer -- I thought I heard a few choice words coming from her direction yesterday! :D
Wicked headache this morning so maybe I will just crawl back into bed and rest. Translation: hibernate! Didn't go into work because the roads are too icy -- told Russ to take my Jeep because it's heavier than his car this morning too because of the weather.
OK, ladies, think Spring!

Hello ladies,
I have been busy,,, and this weather has been terrible.. spring my eye...we've had an ice storm since last thursday, and now we are getting snow on top of that.. miserable.. but today the sun is trying to sun, it comes out for a few minutes, just to tease us..
I am very frustrated, I have been trying so hard since Lent began and I keep losing the same 5 pounds, now they want to bring some old friends back with them... I refuse to allow it...so have to try something different...like strangling my scale...
But I will not stop.. I am going to keep trying.. will discuss my meds again with doc at end of month.. been on these for several years, so maybe its time for a change.. on them, I just can't fight it.... I discussed exercising with him last time.. if I get going to strong, I get dizzy, sick to my stomach and my heart pounds,, he said the meds I am on, are to keep my heart rate low so when I raise it.. it goes to extremes and makes me feel sick... well that is lovely.. so instead of battling against myself... I need to try something new...
Well, working in the office today,, still have a couple hours worth to do. so better get to it.. just thought I'd join Cool mom so she wouldn't have to talk to herself.. I know the feeling..:)
take care, hope everyone is having a good weekend...

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted. I have been REALLY busy trying to buy a used car, which we finally found. I am driving 120 miles round trip per day, so we needed a car that I could put the miles on. We currently lease a Jetta that we can only put 800 miles a month on, so I can't use that. We bought a 1995 Nissan for $2800 with 100,000 miles on it. Tomorrow my dad and Dan are putting new shocks in and once it has an alignment it should be good to go. Dan says in 6 months we can turn in the lease, sell the Nissan and get a new Jetta that we own. Then I will be driving in style! This car has seen better days, but it is a good thing right now. We have also been looking for houses closer to my job. If I last 6 months we will look more seriously. Right now I just want to make it thru the first week.
I was really sad leaving work. They thru a lunch for me, and only 6 people came. I guess the other 6 didn't like me enough to come. It made me feel kind of bad, but in the long run, I was never going to be friends with them outside of work. It really showed me who my friends were, though.
Anyway, I am excited for my new job. Glad to be done with that place!
Dahlia - you really have me worried! What kind of meds are you taking? I know that mine really effect me - and it was bad when I first started them. I used to sleep all the time. Now I know that when I take them I have a 15-30 minute window until I start getting dizzy - which means it is time for bed. Let us know how things work out.
I will check in tomorrow -

Meg, good luck today!! :)
Yuck -- the winter that won't go away! Early school dismissal today as 6-12" of snow is expected. Russ took my Jeep as his car isn't that great in the snow. Translation: a day off for me! Actually, need to run to the store before the snow starts (can't believe I am saying the "S" word!) because we are down to the last roll of toilet paper :yikes: !
And, hopefully I won't see anyone I know because I am going before my shower and no make-up :fr: ...
Catch ya all later .... Terry :)

Hi Everyone, remember me!
We have been traveling for the last month to Florida to visit our daughter and family. My grandsons, 4 and 6 were so much fun and we just had a great time.
The weather was just beautiful, 85 degrees F and we went to the beach and a yankee ballgame. It was such a shock Friday when we came home to this. 20 degree weather and a snow storm. On Friday, our last day of travel we had all kinds of weather, including fog, rain, freezing rain, more fog, snow and blowing snow. However with all of it, the roads weren't too bad so we kept driving until we finally arrived home about 4:30 pm. No matter where you go or how much fun you have it is always good to get home!
I really have to get to work now because while we were traveling we spent a lot of time at restaurants, including the Red Lobster, Ruby Tuesdays, the Olive Garden, Triggers Steak house, Ryan's Steak house, Bananza Steak house, The Cracker Barrel, I HOPS, the Waffle House, etc. and to top it all off, Saturday after we arrived home we went to my bil's birthday party and his dil runs a restaurant and is a fantastic cook. She put on a 6 course dinner with champayne, including individual shrimp cocktails, stuffed mushrooms with sausage stuffing, french union soup, salad, baked potatoe, vegtable and prime rib, with a pasta side dish, and Chocolate cake. served with coffee. WHAT A FEED!
At first during our vacation I was very good and made good choices at the restaurants but as the time went on I was getting worse and worse! However through it all, surprisingly I didn't gain much. I am back to where I was when I was on the plateau for so long, all I gained was the last few pounds I lost the last week or two before we left on vacation. I was afraid it would be much worse. So if I get back to my treadmill and back on program, I should be able to lose it fast. I hope!
I have been reading some of the post and was happy to hear about your new job Meg. Good luck with it!
 Hi to everyone else, I like all your pictures, you all look so young! Makes me feel old! Bye for now, have to get busy, it's surprising how much needs to be done when you get home after a month away! Good luck to all of us for an op day

Hope all is going smoothly, Meg!

Good Morning!! :)
The sun is shining but it's still chilly -- only day the sun is to make an appearance this week. Another dark and dreary weekend coming up -- hopefully my mood won't be that way :D .
Been a bit -- OK a lot! -- too lenient on my OPness, but hopefully one good day back in the saddle will spark that motivation again. And thus the battle wages on :drill: :drill: :drill: .
Gosh, wonder how Meg likes her new job?? Hopefully, her absence is a good sign .... and that she's busy at work :).
OK, time to brew the coffee extra strong -- didn't fall asleep until after 3am (not to my choosing and it wasn't because of other factors :s: either!).
Catch ya all later!

Oh Darn..was almost at the end of my post and i pressed the wrong button and zapped it
Terry..we've been plugging away at these pesky pounds for a long time now have'nt we? the weather is'nt that great here either :rain: and i really need to get some gardening done..hubby and i dug over the greenhouse and some bedding boxes last Sunday and i've got some Tomato plants out but i really need to work on the rock wall near the house and transplant some flowers out before they die on me :( then there is the never-ending battle of the broom
I have to get back to exercising now that i'm not a computer geek anymore (have'nt done any for a couple of days) and eating right.
This year is just flying by..i've been posting on the Summer Challenge thread and one girl over there asked if we would be changing the name to the FALL challenge because we're getting no-where  :nono: i want to get at least 20lbs off before July so keep me to that!
I know you must be feeling like a Zombie today Terry (i know that feeling all too well) but i think its about time i started challenging you on your treadmill again or you can WATP's if you want..come on girl..we have a lot of work to do and you've been doing GREAT so :drill: NO SLACKING NOW! Hi Ladies,
Just a quick check in. I still haven't started back using my treadmill. Will try and do a little after I finish posting. Since coming home, I have been having headaches so haven't been doing much accept resting up.
My dh has been down with a cold, it was with him all during our trip so we went into the doctor yesterday and got him some antibiotic. When he has a cold he always developes infection in his lungs, and needs antibiotic to finally get rid of it!
When we were waiting for the doctor yesterday, I checked my weight on his scales, and was really pleased and surprised to find that I actually weighed 2 pounds less then I did on my last visit to him, which was just 2 weeks before we left for Fl. in March. That means I really did no harm to my diet on our vacation, even with eating more and not using the treadmill. :) :cp:
That made me more determined then ever, to get back to work and lose the last 20 lbs! So treadmill, here I come:dance:  I am going to challenge myself to start with at least 0ne mile a day!
It is really beautiful here today. 52 degrees and the sun is shining. Maybe this winter is going to end after all.
 Hi to everyone, Let's all get to that treadmill. We can do this, we can!

Evening Ladies!
Grandma, sorry to hear that you and hubby are not up to par but great job on the weight loss --- something I have never ever been able to accomplish on vacation. Kudos! Don't overdo it on the treadmill especially with a headache. Now, Cathy, you can overdo it all you want! :D :D Don't tell me tomorrow you didn't do anything because you made me do my WATP today!!!
Just got home from work and first thing is I go straight to the computer --- can you say addicted?! Not to make supper, laundry, etc -- bought all kinds of good things for a salad. Also having steak sandwiches -- keeps the meat eating men in my life happy!
Off and running AGAIN .....

Hi guys!
I have been SOOO busy it isn't even funny. I get up at 5:45 (used to be 7:30) and drive 1.25 hours each way on the highway. I feel like I need to go to bed at 9 instead of 10:30 just to keep up on sleep!
I am going to go relax on the couch. I promise to check in this weekend when I have more time so I can get up to speed on what everyone has been up to.
Have a good Friday!

Terry...i can't tell a lie :o i DID'NT treadmill..i was messing around online ALL DAY! I was going to exercise at 9.30pm and then had second thoughts because i knew i would have been bouncing off the walls at midnight  speaking of computer addiction i've got you beat because the first thing i do when i surface is put the kettle on and then the computer  if i want to get anything done (like today) i have to tell myself that i can't turn it on until i've done what i said i was going to do :dizzy: I was out at the greenhouse at 7am this morning messing with planters and re-potting tomato plants..i'm currently painting the greenhouse..i bought some woodstain that was on sale a while back (mis-tinted) and it is a lovely mint green :yikes: nice colour but a bit to bright for a rather large greenhouse so i've toned it down a bit with a darker green i had but its still on the bright side  i'm taking a break to watch the Bold and the Beautiful and have a well earned cuppa and a rice krispie treat ;) and now look what i've done..i definitely will turn it OFF when i've finished posting and go out to do some more painting..i've gotta!

Greetings Ladies of the Board!
Meg, that is one long commute you have every day, woman! And, you are busy as a beaver -- quite a change from the old job. I hope you get to relax this weekend :) .
Cathy, I think we are on the same sleep schedule -- the night owl shift. We should IM each other when we are up! Could not fall asleep for the life of me lsat night -- ended up watching some TV and then playing on the computer until 5am. I had Russ call me at 10am from work so I could at least get to the store by noon. Rolled in and headed to Dunkin Dounuts for a huge cup of coffee. :fr: :fr:
Must be those crazy hormones running rampant again!
Hey, I hear ya on the morning ritual. Get up, get the coffee going, pop in the ol' contacts (need to see the coffee pot :D) and then stumble down the stairs to the family room and my computer -- the best time of the day in my book!
After buckets of rain for two days the sun actually came out this afternoon and it turned into a fairly decent day. Still too chilly to plant anything yet -- the snow finally melted this week. Yeah! :cp:
Cathy, you seem to have so much more spring weather than we do. I really like it when the birds start showing up --- I love to hear them singing when I first wake up.
Grandma, I hope you are feeling better by now :) .
Went out to dinner with Russ two nights in a row -- Olive Garden tonight -- one of my very favorite restaurants. We were lucky to find a table in the bar because there was an hour and a half wait.
Waiting for Chris to come home -- he has a midnight curfew on the weekends. The wine we had with dinner is making me sleepy so he had better hurry up! Back to work tomorrow too.
Cathy, I must confess too (not a good liar either!) -- no WATP today. Hopefully tomorrow!
OK, ladies, time to make my way upstairs .... Hope all is well, Pam (I hope you are enjoying your company), Dahlia (must be lost in the greenhouses :D , Cheri and everyone else!
Sweet dreams

The sun put in an appearance yesterday afternoon and it turned into quite a nice day i don't think we'll have the same luck today its raining steadily :rain: so no gardening for me. Looks like i have no alternative but to do some exercise :yikes: BBL

Hi girls,
Glad to see you're all doing fine and well. Cat, glad your computer is back up and running again...sounds like a trying spell to get that on the go.
Grandma G, welcome back..glad you're here with us again.
Meg, that is some drive every day. I'm glad you are enjoying it...makes it easier.
Terry, I too love the Olive Garden too. Those breadsticks are sooo my downfall :) Good thing I've never acquired a taste for wine or I'd be hooched for sure :dizzy:
Well Erwin's Dad is back in the hospital again. Home for a whopping 6 days before the shortness of breath and weakness settled in again. Spent another day and a half in emergency before they admitted him. Erwin's at the hospital visiting him now. I guess the nurses found him flat on his *** this morning all dazed and confused telling him that his sons were helping him to go the washroom which was down the hallway. This was at 6:00 a.m. and he was of course all by himself. No one is sure what the heck is wrong with him now...they've switched his meds up again and said they won't release him home until the confusion and owliness have vanished. Sorry to sound mad but I guess I am..I'm not sure what's going on and I just feel so sorry for Dad. With the exception of about two weeks he's spent the last 4 and a half months in the hospital. He gets crabby and irritable and takes it out on Erwin and his brother. The other brother can hardly be bothered to go the hospital at all so it falls on Erwin and Ed to go and keep Dad's spirits up. I only get to go on the weekends but half the time he doesn't acknowledge my presence so it's hard to convince yourself to go at all but I know that's a horrible attitude.
Okay, done venting now. My visit with my Mom and Dad went really well and I even managed to lose a pound while they were here so all in all it went spectacularly.
I submitted my last assignment for school and will call to reserve a seat for my final. I'm hoping to write on the 29th but we'll see what they have available. I get to take the month of May off and hit the books again come June 1.
Well I better go make my stuff for the coming week and get my workout in.
Have a great day all.

Morning Ladies and Hello Bambi!! :D
Wow, spring has FINALLY come to New England -- just saw that the temps will be in the 75-80 deg range tomorrow. And, all the snow is melted, the sun is shining and the windows are open -- Happy Dance time! :cb:
Cathy, little Bambi is a cutie! I got your letter yesterday, and happy to see that the outcome is positive. Also, mailed out your manual so you should be getting that soon -- hope Russ put enough stamps on it. He said he did but you know husbands
Pam, gosh, sorry to read that your FIL is back in the hospital. He's had more than his share lately. I know it's hard but Erwin needs to remember that it's the meds and his condition making him so cranky ... and not his pop. Hugs to all of you because it's a tough time right now. Glad to hear that you had a nice visit with your mom and dad though. Miss you!
Cathy, went out to eat again last night -- Chinese buffet. After this weekend I need to do 50 miles on the treadmill! :yikes: :yikes:
Meg, hope you got in some R&R!

WOW Terry..75-80 thats sunbathing weather  we're nowhere near that but when the sun comes out it feels much warmer :) i wanted to strip off last week while i was painting the greenhouse because the sun was burning my back..wish i had done now i could have had a good start on a tan.
Thanks for going to all that trouble of mailing the manual Terry, (or should i say Russ ;) ) that will help because a few things are a little different and i'm not sure what they do :dizzy: i forgot to tell you i received a letter from Jacqui and she has promised to send more pic's of Olivia so i should be posting more soon :) she also said that family get discounts on the airline..her friends mother flew from Iceland to England return for 75 pounds ;) so i've just wrote asking for all the details
I've just looked in my journal and it was last Monday when i last exercised :yikes: so i've got to treadmill today!
Btw..about Bambi..there was 5 bambies out there yesterday and 2 bunnies..i feel like i'm on a ranch with my own herd! LOL But they're sure keeping the grass down i even saw one of them chewing on that pesky broom..so they are welcome to stay..i probably won't be saying that in a few months when they eat all the flowers that i try to grow! Its not raining at the moment so i might get chance to transplant those flowers out..they are busting outta the tray..i noticed that they are even starting to bud LOL so i'm sure they want out! BBL.

Cathy - YOU CRACK ME UP!!!! Olivia on that monument is the CUTEST thing I have EVER seen!
Work is so busy I don't make any personal phone calls or emails during the day, and I work basically 8-6 with no lunch. We may move closer this fall. But I must say, I love the challenge. I have more experience than the owner, so he really trusts me. And, I am making all of these policies - which is a nice resume builder. I just hope that eventually I can wrangle it all in so I can take a lunch and leave at 5. That would make my day a little better.
I have noticed I am having nightmares though. I think I am working out the day in my dreams. I wake up and try and wake up Dan, hoping that if he will hold me then I won't have bad dreams anymore. You would think that I was a kid or something!!!!
No exercise - I probably will have to quit the gym. But, if we buy a house, I can finally get Bowflex!
I just wanted to thank all of you for being so supportive of me during my job search. It really makes a difference having people behind you.
Have a good night - bedtime is near!

Hi ladies,
First of all, Congratulations on the new job, Meg.. sounds like you enjoy your work again.. that is always helpful.. that is a long day without lunch,, think of all the weight you'll lose and never realize you are doing it....just don't get so hungry that you make up for it in the evening...but I'm sure you are good....
I am so frustrated, the harder I try the weight just seems to stick there.. those four pounds I lost came back and even brought a few friends. Now my ankles are swelling up. What a big pain.
But I am busy at work. Another thing that is frustrating, is hubby is losing weight and not even trying... just not fair... but I am not giving up, I will just have to change my tactics.. and find a new way.. I do see the doc in two weeks, hope he can give me some ideas..
Cathy, your granddaughter is a little darling, and putting her on Mount Rushmore was so funny. It's fun to play around like that...right now I don't have time to do anything not related to work... I am getting to the point where I hate spring time..and it's only going to get worse before it subsides, then I will have all the book work to do getting it all recorded and set up to do again... oh well, keeps me busy...but would like more time to spend with my own little darlings..
Hello to Grandma G., coolmom, Pam and everyone else.
Have a great day.....

Good Morning Ladies
Meg..that is a LOOOOOONG Day  hope you can get in a healthy sandwich or something during all that time ;) but, you do sound very happy at what you are doing and that is the main thing :)
Dahlia...hopefully the doc will sort out your med's :) whatever you are taking it sounds like you are retaining water :( maybe he could give you some diuretics :?: if they don't affect the meds.
Thanks for naming Mount Rushmore..neither me or hubby could remember it
As for dieting..playing around on computers for hours certainly takes your mind off food..i finally feel like i'm in control of what i'm eating..now..if i can just commit to exercising every day than i'll see some results.
Hi Terry..Pam..Grandma.

Hey girls,
Woke up to snow yesterday. Blech, blech and double blech. Now it's sunny and 13 so go figure. It's supposed to rain all weekend except for Saturday so that'll be alright. The moisture is welcome but I prefer it not be the white kind while we're in the spring :)
Dahlia, I know you must be frustrated but I admire your attitude towards finding another battle plan. You go girl and we're here to support you 110%
Meg, great job on holding your weight steady. I know it's hard when life turns upside down but you are doing fantastic!
Cat, good job on the treadmill. I'm the same way if I get going online first...the treadmilljust does not happen.
Terry, how are you doing today? Hope all is well. Here's to an OP day.
Granmda G, hope all is well with you. Are you busy with your painting these days?
Things here are alright. I don't think Erwin's Dad will be getting out anytime soon. Very weak and very confused. Kept telling Erwin that his youngest boy was there to visit yesterday but he couldn't recall his name...nice chap though...(It was Erwin who is the youngest son) Erwin said "Dad that was me yesterday" His Dad was kind of like "oh really...hmmm well.." I feel so bad for him. I hope it all works out in the end.
Well speaking of working out I guess it's time for me to get downstairs to do my weights and hit the treadmill for a quickie...who ever knew I'd use that term for working out LOL.
Have a good night all.

Morning!
Sorry I have been AWOL -- just no time this week.
All is well, just busy with work and Easter preparation. Katie's coming home for a few days too so I have been cleaning her room a bit. Never a dull moment!
Dahlia, I think Cathy is right about the water retention if your ankles are swollen. I am taking my mom back and forth to the doctor for this at the moment too. Hers is from all the meds she takes for her arthritis. Best to have it checked out. And, the weight gain is a direct result if you are retaining fluids. Lots of self TLC, ok?!
Pam, crazy weather here to. Sunny and temps close to 90 yesterday and then in the low 30s last night -- wore shorts! Too bad Erwin's dad is still in the hospital especially with Easter this weekend. Hugs to both of you as it's not easy.
Meg, Meg, Meg! I am thrilled that you love your job! I'm sure once you get more acclimated to your new routine, you'll make time for a lunch bread. You really need to or you'll go crazy no matter how much you love your job. Everyone needs that break to just clear their heads during the day. How exciting to even think about house hunting! If you do decide to move, will that put you farther or closer to your parents and the children's theatre group? Sounds like you have a good hubby there, lady :) .
Cathy, President Olivia beats out the astronaut by leaps and bounds -- can't wait to show Russ tonight because he got a kick out of the others! I hope you are printing these out for Jacqui -- keepers!
I do think about Karie -- has anyone heard from her? I do hope all is well in her world.
Still plugging along here weight wise. I have not weighed in awhile but my clothes seem looser or it may just be wishful thinking :D. I am back to exercise thanks to Cathy and did my 3 mile WATP tape yesterday -- sweat everywhere. I am back to trying to do something everyday even if it's only for 20 minutes.
Went Easter basket shopping yesterday -- still make a basket for Katie (she'll be 23) and this year I made one for her boy friend. They certainly get expensive if you don't buy candy! We are going out to dinner again this Easter Sunday -- with work and everything it's just so much easier.
Speaking of work, let me get a move on.
Special hellos going to Grandma, Cheri and Emily :) .
Always, Terry

Had a really nice day out yesterday :) hubby had a Doctors appointment way on the other side of town so i went along and he dropped me off in town..i went shopping in Victoria while he saw the quack :s: and i met up with him later..he was longer than we both thought he would be so to pass the time i went into a nice bar/restaurant and had a couple of pints of Guinness :T on the way home he took me for dinner which was a nice change for me as we don't go out to eat now nearly as much as we used to ( :sssh: not like Terry ;) )
Terry :cp: great job with WATP's..i missed yesterday with being out all day..i'm feeling a bit sluggish this morning to say the least thanks to Mr Guinness and Mr Budweiser  i hope i find the energy later.

Just a quick note hear to thank you gals for all your suggestions.. however, I have been taking a diuretic for a couple years now, but I also take medication for arthiritis and I have noticed that when I take them I seem to gain weight and if I stop them, I can lose.....so will discuss this with the doc...
Cathy, sounds like you had a nice time out with hubby.. and Meg, first a new job, now maybe a new house,, boy that is great.. :)
Got to make supper, worked late tonight and start working longer hours on Monday,,, so if I don't post for a while, you know where I'll be... but just think if the sun comes out and it gets nice and hot, being in the greenhouse is like a sauna.. for real... and I usually do lose a few pounds just from sweating... so that is a good thing...and yes I drink plenty ...
Have a good evening all, and a Happy Easter.. going to sil's for dinner sunday..

Cathy you seriously crack me up :) I wish we lived closer....
Went out tonight with my friend Milena (the one who has lost over 100 lbs). We had a blast and I was OP and still have 4 points left in the bank. It felt good to feel totally in control.
Dahlia, I hope your meeting with your Dr. gets you some answers. Sounds like you have a very good grasp at what's going on. Keep us posted.
Terry, hey there girlfriend. You and Russ got any big plans for the weekend?
I emailed Karie a few weeks ago and she had started back to meetings but school is keeping her insanely busy. She is well though and trying her best to take care of things. Send her positive vibes and hopefully she'll find her way back to us.
Well I'm pooped so I'm off to bed. Fun day of studying tomorrow...oooh can't wait.....

Morning Ladies!
I am just so tired of pop up ads and now I see they have a new type -- I just discovered that key words on various pages are underlined and if you mouse over, a message box directs you to various sponsors. Any suggestions for a good pop up blocker?? And, I am willing to spend money on one -- that's how annoying this is! :yikes:
Anyway ....... :)
Cathy, you do keep us in smiles that's for sure. I love your spirit, lady!
Dahlia, I hope you are able to get your meds under control soon. I hate it when it comes down to deciding which is the worse of two evils -- gain weight or be in pain?? With me it's gain weight or have anxiety attacks -- my panic attacks were wicked so I stay on my meds and lose slowly.
Great, an ad for penis enlargement pills just popped up -- I really need those. :D
Pam, thanks for the update on Karie and when you write her again, please tell her we miss her and think about her often.
Well, another day at work. I need to stop at the mall after work and get a few more Easter treats for the kids' baskets, plus something for my mom. She can use another photo album as everyone sends her pictures.
Meg -- hello!
Have a great day, everyone, and I will try to get back tonight.
Always, Terry

I can't believe that "penis enlargement pills" is underlined!! Now I am really going to war with pop ups! I wouldn't mind them except that they freeze up my computer for a few seconds each time they are materializing!

Good Morning Gals,
It's slightly cloudy here again in Edmonton and sounds like rain may be on its way. Yesterday was absolutely beautiful and we could walk around Whyte without our coats on. Bliss :) So I'm going to go get my walk in before it gets any cloudier out. Then come home shower, and get myself in my office to do a couple of hours of studying! I write on the 29th so I feel better knowing when the date is now so I can focus a bit better.
Terry I'll ask Erwin about a blocker for you that is most likely a free download. He'll be home later this afternoon and I'll email you the link. Have fun at work today and enjoy putting those Easter baskets together. I won't be going home this year as Mom and Dad were just up but hopefully maybe Erwin will get me a tiny little treat :) But then again I can't handle my chocolate so perhaps this will work out for the best anyways.....
Have a wonderful day ladies.

Good Morning Ladies
Terry i got a free pop up killer program from the web and it works really well :) everytime it kills an ad you just here a chime sound and if you want to click on a link all you have to do is press the CTRL button down to allow popup killer to let you open a new window..its a very small program too...i'll send it for you to try :D
and you can try one of Pam's too. Anyway, you don't need to see ads for "penis enlargement pills" because i for one will vouch for you YOUR PENIS IS BIG ENOUGH
Pam..you are so good  going out with a friend and still having pts in the bank  i paid for that day out i had with hubby..the scale is showing a + of 3lbs :yikes: i'd better get back on track and quick. I want to start another challenge seeing as i failed miserably with the easter one...any ideas?

Good Morning Cathy....
As far as a new challenge goes...we could always do a countdown to summer challenge? That's June 21 so that would give us all about two months to set and meet a goal? What do you think?
I did get my walk in this morning before the rain came down but I swear the temperature changed three degrees from when I started to when I finished. Brr...chilly. Hopefully tomorrow will be nice.
Well off to his the shower and start that blasted studying.
I'll check back later,

Good Evening Ladies of the Board :)
Hope you've all had a pleasant weekend with family and friends and celebrating Easter. It's been a very nice weekend here and other than Friday's snowstorm (which has since melted) the weather has been fantastic.
I went over points yesterday but am on plan today and have to reverse bank but I will do it. I am determined to show myself that I can maintain and keep this weight off for good. Goal was a wonderful thing and I plan to stay there! I'm also working out more now so hope in the next few months to see further change in my shape.
Well speaking of working out it's time to hit downstairs and hit the weights.
Have a great evening all,

Hi Ladies,
Well I messed up big time. I was so proud of myself for not gaining during my vacation, then I came home and pigged out for three days on CHOCOLATE! I can't believe it, I seemed to have lost all control. I had bought candy to have around the house for my grandkids for Easter "Yea right" I admit it, I bought it for me! I sent some home with one gd and her college friends yesterday, but I kept some so I could have one more night of pigging out. Big mistake. Now it's time to send the rest with the other grandkids. I bagged it up and it's next to the door waiting to go! Bye Bye. NOW BACK TO WORK:strong: :cb:
I am ready for the "Countdown to Summer Challenge" And boy do I need it. I have only walked one mile on my treadmill since coming home. Although I did help dh with yardwork and did some much needed house cleaning. I don't have the energy for both house work and treadmilling on the same day. ;)
What a beautiful weekend we had here. It was in the mid 70's yesterday. I had set up tables in the house, but all the teenagers opted to sit out on the porch for dinner it was so beautiful out! My gd who goes to college less then an hour away from home brought two college friends here to dinner because they couldn't go home for Easter. One was from the country Mexico and the other was from NH. She lives in the same town in NH where I was born. I thought that was an interesting coincidence.
Pam I think it is so wonderful that you have reached your goal. What a wonderful feeling it must be. :bravo: Seeing what you have done makes me know I can do it. I have no doubt about that. I just have to get myself back on program and stay with it. I WILL DO IT. You have proven to me that it can be done. Thank you!:balloons:
Meg, I am so happy that you found the right job! You sound so much happier::) and really busy.
No, I haven't been doing any painting, but hope to get back to it soon. I still have two commissions I need to finish up. I keep saying I am not going to take any more commissions, but I have trouble saying NO.
  Hi to Cat, Dahlia, Terry, Cool Mom and anyone else I missed. Hope all is well and WE ALL have an op day!
To start my day off right I am heading to my treadmill NOW, THAT'S RIGHT NOW, NOW, NOW. At least one mile a day until summer starts! June 21st. and no more chocolate - THAT IS MY CHALLENGE TO MYSELF.

Yaaayy!! Great Job on joining the challenge Grandma :D I can't believe that i have'nt had ONE chocolate easter egg this easter ( :sssh: so far  ) but i have to go grocery shopping today because i'm out of milk and toilet rolls  well..not completely out of toilet rolls  down to the last couple and thats close enough for me..they are one commodity that i'm usually well stocked up on  i walked/jogged 2.5mls on my treadmill yesterday and did 15mins of weights..will just do the treadmill today and give the 'muscles' a rest until tomorrow.
Pam..you go girl..reverse banking indeed..now thats committment!

Ladies...
I am so jealous. I am like 3 pages behind in posts. You all sound like you are doing so well, and I am standing still in time. I know that eventually I will get back on track, but right now I am just trying to keep my head above water.
Ever since my "nervous breakdown" 4 years ago, (when I was diagnosed bipolar), I don't handle change or stress well. The stress of this job has really gotten to me. I spent most of the weekend either crying, or taking drugs to make me not care (prescribed - don't worry :) ).
I have basically doubled my meds, and I still feel like I want to puke all day from the stress. I told my boss, and I am hoping it will get better. He said he would do anything and work with me as much as I need until I feel better. I told him we could do that thru the end of the week and then talk again.
Dan is supportive, but I feel bad that I am always falling apart. I don't know how he puts up with me. But he does:D
Maybe all of this not eating will at least help me to maintain. I know it isn't the best way, but I truly am not hungry.
Anyway- I hope all of you had a great Easter, and have a great week.
Talk to you soon-and thanks for listening
Meg

Hello Girls,
Grandma G, Chocolate is an evil thing and lets say a few creme eggs met their demise during the Easter season. Always remember that your next meal is a fresh start...one bad moment does not mean we have to chuck it all in for the day. We can do this and we will! I've been trying to up the exercise to help with these weaker moments.
I had a good day today and just finished my 2 mile WATP tape completed with 50 crunches. I hate crunches but what do you do?
Off to have a decaf tea (vanilla hazelnut yummy!) and study for awhile.
Hugs to you all,
Pam

Hi Ladies,
I have to confess that I didn't do as planned yesterday, I didn't walk on the treadmill and I unpackaged the chocolate and ate more. But I am not discouraged, I had been craving chocolate and now I have had my fill. I am over it! This morning I got up and walked a mile on the treadmill, first thing. MY COMMITMENT IS BACK!
Every once in a while I need to do something foolish like that, but as long as I don't lose sight of the final goal and stay away from program too long, it doesn't do any permanent harm. However having been away from my treadmill for over a month now, I found out how easy it is to get out of shape. Wow, just one mile and I feel like I did a marathon. I hope it will be easier tomorrow!
Good Job Cat, on the exercise and staying away from the Easter candy!
I plan to start my spring cleaning. I will get extra exercise and hopefully a cleaner house. I can't do too much at once, but one project at a time, one room at a time, and I will get there! Just like with my diet. Slow but sure!
As far as my diet (or should I say live-it) goes, I plan to streamline that more too. When I was first dieting a year ago, I didn't eat any dessert what so ever, and as time went on I started adding it in to my daily meals. Even though I keep them low calorie desserts they are still extra calories and unnecessary, so I am going to eliminate them for a while and see if that will get me losing faster.
Meg, I am so sorry to hear that your dream job is becoming your nightmare. Is it just that your are so busy and learning new things that has you stressed out? If so, that should improve as soon as you learn the job and how to manage your time better. For now, I hope you can find the time to relax yourself. Maybe just a bubble bath or a funny movie. Anything to make you relax a little. I can understand how you feel because I have never been good with change or stress either. I really hope things work out for you.
Well, ladies time for a shower then I am going to pick a job and get to work, spring cleaning has started!
 May we all have an op day!

Good Morning Ladies
I went out shopping yesterday and the majority of the easter eggs had been sold apart from all the assorted mini ones i.e. creme eggs..caramilk eggs..dream eggs..have you ever had those dream eggs? :p very sickly..well, you know now that i had one  and i've got a ton of the others here too  and you know i'm not even craving them..if i fancy one i'm going to let myself have one..if not they are staying in the cupboard ( :sssh: unless hubby finds them)
I can't believe that the last 2 mornings the scale has been good to me..i got on it this morning thinking "huh..it will probably show a gain of 3lbs this morning because of that chocolate egg" but it did'nt :cp: it was .5lb less than yesterday morning..i'm not counting anything yet until fridays weigh-in but i'm confidently hoping for a good one :D
Did just over 2 miles on the treadmill yesterday..will do the same this morning and add some weightlifting.
Pam you are off to a great start..exercise outta the way already, good for you..i'll try and do mine this morning before noon..hate doing it later.
Meg..so sorry that you are feeling overwhelmed, hopefully things will fall into place soon..take care of yourself :)
Hi Terry..where are you? you too Dahlia..put those easter eggs down and check in.

Hi all,
Just a quick note here.. and I have not had any easter eggs, thank you...I decided to take myself off my arthritis meds and see if there is any change... already had to take some aleve hope that will be enough to get me thru the days..work is hectic right now... I know Meg how overwhelming it can be, but just tell yourself, you can only do so much at a time, and it will be there till you get it done.. don't stress yourself out,,, try to relax and enjoy the fact that you have a new and exciting new job, are working with new people, and just go with the flow... it will get easier as you learn the ropes... and am glad to hear you can talk to your boss about it...don't take this wrong.. but it's just a job.. something for you to do during the hours you are there, don't let it consume your life... nothing is worth doing that to yourself...good luck with it.
Today is my and dh 31st wedding anniversary,, we had breakfast together, worked together/apart all day... we both do our thing where ever it's needed (we have 16 greenhouses) and see each other at breaks, lunch and if we seek each other out.. now we had supper together and he is back at the greenhouse to spray and I am working in the office... but we exchanged gifts this morning.. (and I am telling Meg not to let it take over her life...LOL well for us it's a way of life and we will settle down after the 4th of July and get away for a while.. and celebrate then....
I am still determined to lose weight, I will just keep trying new ways till I hit upon the right one for me... Pam reached her goal, and you others are doing it too,, SO CAN I...
take care all, grandma glad to see you back.. and everyone else, I will be reading the posts as often as I can... and write when I have a chance..

:^: Sign, I ate everyone's Easter eggs
No sense in not confessing -- stress got to me and I gave in BIG TIME. So, back on track today and I am looking forward to it.
Just woke up to the sounds of a cat getting ready to upchuck on our bed. Lovely :fr: Grabbed her so fast (amazing because I was in the middle of a dream but you just know "that sound" regardless of how asleep you are :yikes: . Not much damage but try walking around something that you know is there on the floor but can't see because you don't have your contacts in and you can't find your glasses!
OK, crisis is over, the cat and the husband are back to sleep, and I am wide awake. Something wrong with this picture --- Grrrr!!!
Hey, happy anniversary, Dahlia! :balloons:
Meg, I know it's tough but try to take it one task at a time. Dahlia had some great advice -- once you put everything into perspective, it will be easier to handle the stress. It sounds like you have a very understanding boss, and a great husband --- so many people are in your corner! You once said you were not even taking a lunch break -- I hope you are taking one now because the break will help you destress during the day. We all need to walk away from it. And, anytime you need to vent, we are here for ya. :) Hugs!
Getting tired here -- busy day ahead -- so let me cut this short and try to get back to sleep. The alarm goes off in less than 3 hours. Now I know what the phrase "That Darn Cat" means!
Always, Terry

Just a quick one here to wish Dahlia a Happy Anniversary, Meg a great big hug, Terry a smile and a nod because I so feel what you're going through with eating too much, Cathy a smile and a giggle because you make me chuckle.
It's a busy day here and this week I've not been coping well. Three days out of this week I've been over points and not by one or two either. I'm trying to give myself a stern talking too but it doesn't seem to be helping. I started off today alright and then made two stupid choices at coffee break. I can't keep doing this. Morning Ladies!
Shoot, overslept this morning. I won't be late for work but I wanted to get up early and accomplish a few things in the house before leaving. I really want to get in my exercise this morning too. I bought a WATP toning tape and it just arrived yesterday. Want to check it out, ya know!
I do not believe this crazy weather -- snow flurries last night and in the 30s. :dizzy: I think Mother Nature has her wires mixed up!
Cathy, are you refering to email??! I loved the pics you sent and replied back a few days ago. I forgot to mention that I put them in my "important emails" folder so my fame as "Terry Anderson" can live on! :D She created a photo of my face on the body of a surfer girl (the kind to die for!) . It was way too cool because the bathing suit was a coral one- piece and I had two of those when I was skinnier -- it was my favorite bathing suit ever! Quite the coincidence and I literally burst out laughing when I opened it! Yikes, are you concocting something else that I don't know about yet???!!! :joker:
What are we gonna do with you!! ;) ;)
Pam, bend over, and get ready! :D

Evening ladies,
Well Cathy and Terry thanks for the boots in the rump...they were taken with love and well received. (Sorry about the heels Terry...I should have worn my fuzzy slippers :) ) The last two days have gone well and I guess tomorrow will show the damage of a week gone bad. I will at least take pride in the fact that for once I journalled it all and didn't try to "hide" it by not counting it. It's a small step but I will take it.
I write my final on Tuesday and will be able to take a break for a month while life continues on. Sad news this week as we learned from the Dr.'s that Erwin's Dad won't be coming home again and they are actively searching for a nursing home for him. We will know when the social worker calls a meeting next week to discuss what's going on. We knew it was most likely coming after the stroke last week but it doesn't make it any easier to know that he won't be going home to join Mutti at the apartment. 54 years they've been together and now they may have to face not living together anymore until a more permanent home for both of them can become available. Iwill not borrow trouble and worry too much though as this is all just random thoughts right now. I feel so bad for Erwin as I just can't seem to help him right now. He's so sad. Send him your prayers and cyber hugs.
Well on my downer note I think I'll go get ready for bed.
Love to you all and as always, thanks for being here for me.

Hello ladies,
Pam, so sorry to hear about Erwin.. I hope when you said they were looking for a home for him, you meant the family...had the experience of putting a loved one into one of those homes.. you really have to check them out, and be on your toes when your loved one is there... frequent visits that is my advice.
Well, the scale is moving down again....I knew it was those arthritis meds...for some reason they make me retain water, even though I am taking a diurectic, (not spelled right but you know what I mean)...I see the doctor on wed... and my blood pressure is getting back to normal ranges again.. with the scale going up, retainig water etc.. my blood pressure was getting really high... so hopefully he can straighten it all out.. he is my new one.. so I am going to discuss all this with him right from the start and hopefully he'll be able to help adjust it.. my old doc just told me it was not happening and he also told me, I had some wierd complaints... some of those wierd complaints needed surgery over the years from other doctors of course...
OK, enough rambling,,, I can really get going about the quack... but time to move on..
Well, we finished transplanting on Wednesday,,,,,hurrrrahhhhh,,, been pricing things the last two days, and even though we don't open officially till this coming thursday, I've had some sales already... this time of year, when the sun shines two days in a row, people get antsy to plant... even though it's not safe here yet....but that is good for business so not complaining..:)
Just wanted to check in and say hi,,, going off to town in a little bit, have to get groceries and some supplies for work... this is my last weekend off till the 4th of July... will be working 10 hrs. + 7 days a week till then.. so if you don't see me on here.. know that I am have not desserted, just busy.. I will try to read the posts thou so don't forget me :)
Got to get some work done before I can leave the house,, so everyone have an op weekend, and take care..
Meg, how is the job going? I think about you often... hope you are able to handle it better, just remember, take a deep breath, and take it one day at a time... AND take a lunch break and a couple during the day also...you are not wasting time... you are making the time you are working more productive...

Good Morning Ladies,
Pam that is so sad about Erwin's parents having to live apart for a while especially after so many years together :( i hope they find a home where they can be together soon :crossed:
Dahlia :cp: glad the meds problem is sorted out and the scale is on a downward spiral. Wow :yikes: you have got quite a while to wait until your next break :stress: but on the plus side being so busy will keep you outta the fridge
The weather forecast is good for a few days so i should really get out there and fight the battle of the broom i suppose :( its a never ending battle to reclaim land every year  i would love a little garden with decent soil (instead of hardpan) and only having to deal with weeds  but that is just a dream.

Good Morning Girls,
Just popping in to say I woke up to 3 inches of SNOW this morning and I'm cranky so I'll come back when I'm in better humour  Geez Louise I can't get over this spring!
Off to go grocery shopping and will pop back in later,

Morning!
Sorry, Pam, but I just have to say that the weather will be in the 80s today and tomorrow -- sorry about the snow  -- you can always come visit me!
On a serious note, I am so sorry about your FIL. We had to do go through that for my dad and it's not easy. Prayers and hugs for both you and Erwin and your family, and just remember that you will have peace of mind knowing that he is being taken care of 24/7. Dahlia hit the nail on the head when she said to research well and visit often to make sure all is well. Some of the people who work as care givers are indeed saints. And, I know I speak for everyone when I say we are all here for you.
Dahlia, very happy to hear that your on the right track with your meds :) . And, if folks want to spend $$ to plant early then good -- when they die (plants) they will be back for more! :s: . And, as Russ always says, a fair profit is not a four letter word! Garden centers are hurting here because this is the time for people to plant and it's just been too dang cold -- except for this week so there will be smiles all around.
Cathy, howdy again!!
OK, I bit the bullet and weighed in this morning and I have gained a few pounds. Good news is that I am doing a WATP challenge (April 28-June 8) and it begins today. I am also still a member of WW Online and once I leave here this morning I am going straight there to record my weight (and the automated message will tell me to get on the stick! :fr: ) and begin to journal again. I need the structure, accountability and commitment right now.
Get those kicks ready! :sp:
Great weekend which is why the scale is up too! Staying home from work today to give Mac a bath. He is too skittish to take to the groomer so it falls on my lap. He's an American Eskimoo with tons of hair so it's an all-day affair. At least with warm temps today I can blow dry him on the deck. It's so funny because clumps of white hair go flying into the sunset!
OK, ladies, enjoy your day and let's think spring -- Pam, especially you!
Always, Terry :)

Morning Ladies,
Pam i was chatting with a lady in Calgary on Saturday and she said they had a foot of snow where she was  bizarre Alberta weather..i'm glad we don't have it,we were basking in the sun i've even got a rather burnt noggin to prove it  not really burnt just a bit red looking where my hair is parted. I was out with hubby working on the greenhouse all afternoon..i've lived here 9 years and he's never gotten around to finishing it  but it looks like this year might be THE YEAR :cp:
We've just to put the peak on and then she's done! Pity it's subsiding :lol:I alway's said to him it would fall down before it was finished..look's like i was right.
It's been one of those nights for me Terry  finally resolved to the fact that i'm not gonna sleep so i may as well be up  was going to come online to "look" for you but just sat in front of the box with a cup of hot chocolate instead. What do the dates signify on your challenge? anything special? why June 8th? :nose: and is the challenge to do WATP's daily? if so, you'll have ME to answer to if you don't. LOL going to make another brew..BBL

Now, Cathy, maybe if you kept your clothes on in the greenhouse more often, hubs would get more work done :s: I seem to remember you saying a few pages back that you wanted to paint "au natural" because it was so hot!
I have no idea why those dates for the WATP Challenge -- it's on their web site. I have not even got in my exercise for today -- but that's the next stop after here. Russ just called and he's on the way home -- told him I was working out and leave me alone.
Off and running! :)

Hey everyone!
Just wanted to check in to say hi and let you know we have a new baby boy! Ian Cooper arrived last Tuesday morning and weighed 8 lbs 9 oz. He had a brief stint in the NICU for rapid breathing and a chest x-ray they thought might be pneumonia (Wasn't...). I got home Saturday- should feel more rested, but today is really the first time I've had some catch up naps. I feel great otherwise- it was an extremely easy labor and delivery. Now if pregnancy wasn't so dang awful for me!!
Anyway, that's the latest from here. I will be back soon for some serious weight-loss!!!

Hi guys!
Wow, it is so different being busy at work. I used to check in here 3-4 times a day. Now I am lucky to get here 2-3 times a week!
Sounds like I have missed alot! WATP challenges, fabulous episodes of Oprah, and alot of good advice. Dahlia, I think it was you that said something like: don't take this the wrong way but it is just a job. That really is true, and tonight it makes alot of sense. I guess I just worry too much!
Things are a little better, and I think in a few weeks I will finally have the hang of it.
Jelynn- CONGRATULATIONS! I hope that your son brings you much happiness!
Pam - I am sorry to hear about your FIL. I hope that you find a really nice place for him. My parent's friends an a great aunt of mine are in 2 separate homes in 2 different states, and they are VERY happy, and are well taken care of. I always think unannounced visits are good. My prayers are with you.
My birthday is this Friday, and I am 2 sizes smaller than last year! Clothing is coming my way!
I will do my best to check in tomorrow...

Just popping in to say hi to you all and to give Emily my heartfelt congratulations on the safe arrival of Ian! What wonderful news. I was thinking of you past Easter and wondering how things were going. Congrats again to you and Jim. I imagine Connor and Brendan are thrillled. (Please forgive me if I got their names wrong.)
Meg, you sound so much better and I'm happy to see you posting. Dahlia's advice was wonderful and I'm glad it clicked for you. Celebrating a birthday two sizes smaller is a pretty fantastic gift eh? Good for you. We're all so proud of you. I hope Friday brings you everything you wish for on your special day.
Terry, hope your WATP challenge goes well. Sounds like alot of fun and I've been thinking of giving it a shot. Will check out the website later and see how it looks. Good for you girl.
Cat, you enjoy that sunshine and beautiful weather for me okay? It's been sunny here today but only 5 degrees celsius so all of the snow hasn't melted yet.
I'm writing my final tomorrow afternoon and will be so happy to see the back end of that course. It has taken up alot of time and energy over the past 8 months so good riddance. I'll be taking the next one in June and am looking forward to the mental break.
have a wonderful night you all. Hi to Dahlia, Grandma G, Cheri and everyone else lurking.

Good Morning!
Emily, what wonderful news to wake up to! Congratulations to you and your family :) . Like Pam, I have been thinking of you as I knew you were due very soon. Very happy to hear that Ian is healthy! Spring is such a beautiful time for a new baby because you are not housebound. Enjoy, and share apic or two with us!
All is well. It looks like another beautiful day is on tap (I think I am awake enough to tell!). I was so achey and over-tired last night that I couldn't fll asleep until after 1am. Pumping in the coffee as we speak :) .
Meg, glad to hear that things are finally working out. Happy Early Birthday and what fun to shop for smaller clothes! A new job, a new size -- lots to celebrate this weekend for you.
I like your attitude, Dahlia, it's so positive and that's half the battle right there. I hope you have a successful season too.
Pam, I hope spring hurries up to your corner of the world -- hasn't this been an exceptionally long winter for you? I bet you're going to celebrate this weekend too after you hand in your final paper. You do have a full plate!
Get up, Cathy! :D
I finally did get in my WATP yesterday -- I can't remember if I told y'all that but if I did, old age ya know! Made some good choices food-wise. I do well during the week -- it's just the weekends that do me in. I did weigh myself yesterday after a long time and I was up 3 lbs which wasn't bad considering I had thrown caution to the wind. I even had an ice cream sundae the night before. Onward and upward ....
Time to get a move on -- it's a long trek upstairs for my second cup :smug: !
Have a great day and congratulations again, Emily!
Always,
Terry

I'm up Terry  finally got a few hours sleep last night :) the last 3 have been terrible :( so i feel half-human today
I thought the challenge was a personal one so now i know it is'nt i think i'll have a look around the website too!
CONGRATULATIONS! Emily :gift: ooooh a house full of men :p are you going to keep trying until you get a girl???
Dahlia..when you ask "what kind of greenhouse do i have?" do you mean what do i grow in it? if so, the answer is vegetables.
Pam it showed some Alberta weather on the news :( 2ft of snow at this time of year is crazy!! i hope it thaws soon and you are basking in the sun too.
Hey Meg, you do sound upbeat and happy i'm glad to hear that because you sounded like you were losing it for a while there :dizzy: i'm glad you're still sane and THINNER!
I have'nt exercised since Saturday with doing stuff outside (good excuse eh?) i should fit in a routine today before missing it becomes a habit! I've been a bit of a pig too..eating chocolate and ice cream over the weekend..i don't know why i seem to have the attitude "yaaayy..its weekend..a holiday from my diet..i can eat what i want" yeh right! and pigs can fly! i'll be good today and journal everything..i want to post a loss on friday even if its just .5lb. CAt 90, no I mean what kind of greenhouse do you have, how big is it, glass or plastic.. benches in it, small, large how many feet is it.. is it just by your house? just curious... when I say greenhouses I mean about 90,000 sq. feet under plastic, so was wondering what yours was like?
Meg, happy birthday early, I will either forget your not get to post come Friday.. you really have a lot to celebrate too.as well as your b/day.... with being two sizes smaller.... you should be very proud. and your new job.... so have a great day,
Jelyn, I gather this is your 3rd son...I have 5 sons so I can tell you be prepared for a house full of testosterone as they get older... anyway...having all those boys, I learned to do many new and different things... I loved every minute of it... Congrats again..
I just got a new great niece yesterday, they named her Callie Dawn... 9 pounds 13 ounces.. our family seems to have big babies.. but all babies are so precious...
take care all,

Congrats on the new great niece  9lbs 13ozs! is she walking yet? :s:

Good Evening and Good Morning!!
I hate it when I fall asleep only to wake up an hour or so later wide awake. I'm only going to stay about 5 minutes on the computer and then I have to fall asleep because it's a work day for me and I need to be in early. Grrr!!!
One more day Dahlia and then your season starts! Sell those little planties! :D Hey, congrats on your new neice -- I always liked the name Callie as I associate it with sweetness -- don't know why. Most likely from a book character somewhere down the line. And, that is a big baby girl! Did I ever tell you my dad was 13 lbs when he was born?? Ouch!
Cathy, I bet you are getting in a lot of exercise outside -- I'll keep my fingers crossed for you on Friday. :) Any loss does wonders for our motivation.
I did my two mile WATP today but indulged in some left over ice cream cake that Chris had bought for my birthday. That doesn't count right??!! :s:
We have a meeting with Chris' algebra teacher Wednesday after school. He went from an A to failing -- can you say "senioritis?!" Never a dull moment with kids .....
OK, time's up and it's off to bed I go .... sweet dreams!

Up and attem, everyone -- one more day, Dahlia!
Good news, not so stiff this morning so three days of WATP are doing this ol' body good. Have to be at work early -- already showered, beds made, decluttering done, dishwasher emptied, paper half read -- still have more time too! Amazing what caffeine will do :dizzy: .
Ok, have a good one and keep :) :) :)

WOW Terry you are on the ball this morning :D i see it was your turn for the nocturnal nasties :p its so annoying to wake up and it only be 1am  i know that feeling all to well
I still have'nt treadmilled :( 3 days now..but i was just too busy yesterday..i have some work to do too Terry if i want to show any loss because like you i stepped on the scale a couple of days ago and i'd gained a couple :ink: not surprising really because looking at my journal the cals are getting up there..yesterday was my only good day for a few days...i'll have to work on that.
Major weedeating is on the agenda today (no Terry..i'm not eating them  ) and pressure washing the deck..wonderful..just another day in paradise..LOL.

Day 4 with no exercise :dz: but i'm still busy doing other things, it got really windy up here yesterday and the roofing that hubby had put on the "almost finished" greenhouse blew off before he could torch it on! so here i am "roofless in victoria" i think that is going to end up being one unfinished project ..i asked him this morning if he was going out to do it or if i was going to have to look at if for the foreseeable future :s: he said "yeh..i can take a LOOK at it" !!!!! MEN! i'll keep you posted.
While i was out shopping yesterday i bought the Mari Windsor Pilates collection  hope i have'nt wasted my money! but i've really wanted to try that for such a long time so i thought "to **** with it..i'll buy them" Ssssh..hubby does'nt know! and if i decide to try WATP's he won't know about that either (i'm taking a page out of Terry's book there :s: )

Afternoon Ladies!
Emily -- awesome, mama!! How much did you gain with Ian anyway? Is he sleeping well yet? I know I ask a lot of questions! And, Cathy, I've only heard good things about pilates so I think you'll love it. Sorry about the roof and LOL at "Sleepless in Victoria" :) .
I must admit that stress got the better of me again today and I have been eating some not so good things. I'm coming out of my funk and one good workout will do wonders -- usually does. Mac is at the vet to have his teeth cleaned, all his shots, and he has mats that I could not get out. When I got the estimate I almost cried on the spot -- $815. And, that's just the estimate. Sometimes I wonder how I ended up with my DH -- he transfered over money to my account and chuckled. I know it's not my fault about the dog, but I just feel guilty that he already spent so much on me and my birthday this week. Can ya tell I am in a mood?! :^: Sorry to vent .......
But, life goes on! It stopped raining and it looks like the sun is trying to come out :) . It's a comfortable 64 deg in here according to this beautiful new thermometer ;) I have, and the temps out are climbing into the 70s. I should have been a weather lady!
OK, things to do and people to see -- you know the drill :) .
Catch ya all later and think "ten pounds at a time!"

05-02-2003, 02:17 PM
Terry $815 :censored: :faint: put Mac in the fridge (take him out before you put the elephant in :s: ) and then cut those mats out yourself..that would save you at least $200! You can tell Russ from me that he is a SWEETHEART
I have'nt tried the Pilates yet, not even taken them out of the wrapper  hopefully i will find the time this weekend..we DID get the roof put on and i can tell you it sure got a test during the night it was howling up here and its still windy..i keep peeking through the window to see if i've still got a roof! I had a pleasant surprise this morning when i hopped on the metal  for the last 2 days its been showing me 157.5lbs so thats another 3lbs gone :cp: i'm especially pleased because it takes me into another 10..roll on the 140's!

Wow, great loss, Cathy and I am proud of you! All that work outdoors is paying off. That's the great part of spring and summer -- so much more active. :strong:
Regarding the vet, it only came (right, "only!") came to $482 as they estimated high. I tried to take the mats out but he was so bad and he kept nipping me and scratching me. He was not a happy camper! He also had 8 teeth pulled. Two dogs, same diet (Hills Science Diet Food), one has great teeth (Rochester) and then there's Mac. Mac's the pedigree too -- go figure :dz:
I just got my talking pedometer that I ordered in the mail -- something to play with. My toning tape is still in the wrapper too -- this weekend for sure!
Hope all is well with everyone -- keep thinking thin and Cat, aewsome job! :bravo:

Great job Cathy! Awesome loss. Very proud of you girlfriend :)
Terry, poor Mac, poor you. I know the vet is just crazy! Toby's surgery from when he swalled the rock was $750!!! I just love them so much but holy smokes they are pricey. I'm glad the vet bill wasn't as high as first anticipated but I know it still hurts. Keep your chin up and keep smiling.
I played ball (slo pitch) last night for the first time in about four years and holy mackeral are my legs ever feeling it. Geesh..and here I thought I was getting so fit LOL.
