Hello Everyone

I'm sorta at a loss for words right now..

I just had a Phone Conversation with my Coach and they were less than Supportive to me, Actually Down right Rude to me..

I have been Following the Protocol right to the "T" and only had the One bad day where I Drank a extra RTA Chocolate Drink. They Said: "Drinking that Extra Shake was Just like eating a Candy Bar and if I did not Follow the Protocol I will not lose weight"..

Tomorrow is my Weight in and I really don't want to go...

I'm really thinking about just stopping and going with the Alternative Food's and order them Online..

This is only my 4th day on IP and I refuse to be treated like that from a Coach..

Heck I was afraid to tell her I was putting a Lemon Slice in my Water...

There are a lot of places offering the IP program. I would not be treated like that. Sometimes people forget we are the customer and should be at least treated with respect. I know this program is tough in that you must follow it to the letter, but having an extra shake is no where near like having a candy bar in my opinion. I would either ask for another coach, find another provider, or try the alternate products being sold all over the internet. I certainly would not allow anyone to treat me badly when losing weight is so hard anyway.

Tell her your feelings, she has to learn how to respond to you and support you....perhaps that 'hard nut' attitude has worked on one of her dieters in the past?

I say give her another chance and express how she made you feel and make your decision at a later time.

I am so sorry that your coach was so unsupportive to you. I've been struggling with my coach also so can empathize. Do you have another coach available to you? If so, I'd try a different coach. I don't have another available so I am also considering alternatives.

That extra RTD had 4 more carbs, 15 protein, and only 100 calories. I don't know what candy she eats that equals that amount, but I'd sure like to find it.

Go to your weigh in. Maybe your coach has a bad phone personality. See how the weigh in goes...
Is there more than one coach at your clinic? If do, switch!
Otherwise let you coach know you are trying your best and need her for guidance. Maybe she will respond better to a plea for help.

Good luck. I think alternatives are fine, but the structure and accountability of a coach is also important.

Bizarre. All of the coaches I have met have been extremely supportive and understanding.

That's exactly what I was thinking. LOL. Even the IP Protein bars don't fit.

Having another RTD shake is NOT the same as a candy bar. I don't know where she got her information. Its better to have an IP product than having that candy bar. Don't let her discourage you. This is YOUR journey NOT her's. Tell her your feelings and let her know that you need to have support and not be belittled. You are an adult and should be spoken to as one. I have been my own support through my journey, my coach was there but not really there. I could call her if i needed to ask a question but she had someone come weigh and measure us. Now its ME who will weigh and measure everyone. If you have questions please ask, we will be here for you...WE ALL will help you whichever you choose to do.

Second this!! You made a great choice when you had the extra RTD, good for you. This is all about making choices and changes some are easy others are extremely hard. We must celebrate the big and small. So  for staying the on plan. (ps.....this is what you should have heard from your coach)

Going on my fourth week on the program and I have yet to meet the "coach" at my clinic. So here is my experience, no hours posted on Facebook, but there is an email - so I email and ask for an appointment - no response ever to the email. So I stop by the clinic on a Friday, not open. Only open Tues and Thurs from 9-5 and Sat 9-11. Ok I go in on Saturday. Some high school girl who didn't know anything weighed me and handed me a 10 day sampler pack - pay and on my way. I make an appointment for the upcoming Thursday with the coach (or so I thought). Coach leaves me a voicemail on Tuesday introducing herself, that was nice and my only interaction with her. I didn't call her back on Tuesday because I figured I would see her Thursday. Thursday rolls around and the same high school girl is there, not the coach. Oh turns out the coach is only there 9-11 Tues and Thurs. WHAT! Four hours a week of availability! Ok - I am having some health problems (like unexpected TOM) really want to see the coach. Take time off of work for the following Thursday 9:00 sharp. Coach no shows me, sends her mom instead- who is not a coach.

Whenever I read the word "coach" on this forum I laugh. Seriously my clinic is a joke. I honestly think the only reason she is doing this is for the money. Very discouraging. Sorry for my rant/vent.

Wow. I'd be seeing RED, doesn't even show up and sends her mom?! WTF... What did her mom even do?.... I'd stick with alternatives and go for support here. I'm sorry you had to experience that kinda bull.

ETA: seriously, this pisses me off. I'm not even on IP but you're paying for products AND coaching. She's not even doing it. I'd contact someone in charge of the clinic or something if possible. If anything, you should be having at least HALF of their experiences. (http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/ideal-protein-diet/224231-your-coach-access-contact-support-etc.html)!

Sorry about the miss post! An extra drink is nothing to worry about. You did what you should have done and had an extra IP item and not something off OP!

I agree with this. I personally love coaches that literally rip me a new one to get me going. That works on me, but I do understand that everyone is different. My personal trainer, years ago, was nice and personable (kind of like your hair stylist would be) and I hated it. My basketball coach in highschool, however, would call my dad if I missed class, didn't mind him, etc. etc...and I was a great athlete because of it. Now if only I still had his number....

Don't let that bother you. My coach told me that if I was extra hungry in my first week, that it was OK to have an extra protein. Afterall, it is better to have more of the IP food than have something that is not on the program. Hang in there and get your support on-line.

Sorry to hear about how this "coach" treated you.

Same EXACT way mine operates. Constantly just rushing you out the door but quick as lightening to take the payment.

Makes me feel like I'm interrupting his day or something. Seems always impatient and like he has no time to answer questions. Soooo frustrating.

OK I seem to be missing something here. But am I reading correctly you are in week one of the program?

If that is correct your coach does not understand the program well.

In my first week my coach sold me four packages for each day of that week. She said to use 4 if I got hungry as I was adjusting to the program. I didn't need to do this so didn't need to buy many packages the second week as I still had the seven extra from the first week.

So did you mean the "extra" IP drink was in addition to for IP products you already had?

If not I think she is wrong.

Personally I hate that model of "coaching".

Good luck with the weigh-in.

Pat

Can you please PM me the clinic name or if you want to post it here. I believe that my regional director covers part of SD. This is not even close to being IP standard. Please let me know so we can clean up these kinds of clinics. Thanks!

That's exactly why I go into my clinic once a month to buy some products, but most of my IP stuff I buy from Ebay. I felt rushed too, she was always looking for something to scold me with, yet I have not cheated once on this plan. Heck, I know more about nutrition than she does ;)

I get DH to weigh and measure me, he and this forum are my coaches.

Sorry to hear that there are coaches like this. My place has been wonderful....they have several coaches that are very supportive, and give cell numbers and tell you to call anytime with any questions! I have been irritated because they have changed our appt times twice and completely lost us in the system when we started. Now, I am seeing how minor this is, because if I had been yelled at....I don't think I would go back.....I say, go to the weigh in, but if the coach is not supportive........find another place!

These posts just INFURIATE me! Having a supportive, KNOWLEDGABLE coach is such an important part of this program! These people are supposed to be more than just a salesperson pushing product. They are supposed to help guide you through this process and educate you on how, why, and what to do to help you through. You should definitely go to the idealprotein.com website and report these clinics! I am sure that the IP personnel do not want to let these people give such a great program a bad name! And let them know how you do not appreciate being treated like this. You can buy IP food online at shopforprotein.com and show them with your wallet how you appreciate their 'coaching'. Personally, I love my coach and my clinic - combined with 3FC it is what I believe to be a great combination to helping me through. You pay good money - this program works - you should NOT be subjected to treatment like this! And just FYI - my coach also advised me to have up to 4 packets a day ESPECIALLY the first week to help me through hunger, and she also advised me that if I ever TRULY felt the hunger and urge to cheat that an extra IP was always the way to go. Rant over...for now!

For all you folks who have coaches that don't show up, give you attitude, tell you incorrect information or are just not supportive in any way...tell the main office! They want to know this information so they can correct the problems!!! Here is a link to the main site where you can leave them a message.

There are still days that I have to do this... and have 4 a day... Its way better than reaching for sweets or foods packed with nothing good, to only just feel guilty...

I'm new to IP, and I guess I didn't realize how fortunate I am to have a coach, that's a "little" stern, than one that completely ignores me, except when collecting $$. I'm also starting my 4th wk, and yesterday, I was hungry for something! I had an extra pkt., it satisfied me, so I stayed on track. Kudos to you for sticking with the plan, 3FC, has helped me immensely! Love the advice! Keep your chin up, and good luck!
