Does anyone have any ideas for foods (other than fruits and vegetables) that allow you to eat a LOT of them but not get 100000 calories by eating it? I need to eat... but I just can't keep having 2000+ calorie days or I'll never get anywhere. Please help me. Peace! -Apryl

Other than fruits and vegetables????When a full cup of strawberries packs a mere 50 calories, 0 fat, 12 carbs and 1 g of protein!!!!

Okay 1 cup of 1% cottage cheese= 160 calories, 10 carbs, 3 g fat, and 26 grams of protein

3/4 cup of Kashi Go Lean = 120 calories, 28 carbs, 1 g fat, 8 grams of protein

6 oz of ff yogurt makes a Yummy snack BB now makes theirs with splenda YUM!

I don't think there is a magic food out there that you can eat all you want and not gain weight. We will continue to support you though Apryl!

Have you tried the Pria Bars? They're made by the same people that make Power Bars, but they're only 110 calories. They're kind of chewy and they're really satisfying. They also come in all kinds of great flavors so they really quench my cravings when I want something chocolate or sweet.

What I've learned this week is foods that are filling... and solve my cravings! Potato chips are too high in calories and leave you wanting more (for just one serving)..
You need to find balance.. tasty, healthy and filling. Sometimes the calories are worth it!
here is what I did tonight:

My homemade trail mix - adapted from the book "changeone"

1.5 C of chex cereal
.75 C of pretzel sticks
.25 C sunflower seeds
2 T parmesan cheese
1/3 C craisins (you could use raisins or cranberries)

mix together.. use pam to spray pan... bake for 15 mins @ 300

serves 4

now for the info: per serving!

you can decrease the sodium if you don't buy salted sunflower seeds like I did :nono:

I definitely agree that if you want to fill up, fruits and veggies are the way to do it. I LOVE bananas and strawberries especially, and Kashi GoLean Cereal IS awesome, but if you really just want to stuff your face, how about hot air popcorn? 30 calories or so per cup popped.

I eat soup alot as a filler, it doesn't have to be vegetable soup either (even though that's a good one) If I want to eat alot I make up a condensed chicken noodle soup 200 cals for 4 bowls worth, if I want to bulk it up abit I add various cooked vege's to it. Asian soups are also good just always read the label and pick the lower cal ones.

one of my favorite breakfast/lunch is to make a 2 egg omelet using something like eggbeaters or better-n-eggs, add a little water and mix it with a fork. Pour into a skillet coated with some type of pan spray, add chopped green pepper, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms (splurge on the veggies) and bacon bits or turkey bacon or 96% fat free ham. Cook it till it's set, add a slice of fat free cheese. Fold the sides up over the mixture, turn off the heat, cover and let set while you toast 2 slices of fat free/low fat bread.
Its really filling and only about 225 cal!

Also, they make a 94% fat free micro popcorn. The whole bag (12.5 cups popped) is only 250 calories or 20 cal/1 cup popped! It's a great snack time life saver when everyone else is snacking!
I saw a 94% fat free micro kettle corn advertised on tv but I haven't been able to find in the stores yet...........:cry:

I think it ended up being 1/2 cup or 3/4 cup.

I just divided it into 4.
