Default Why?

Hi, I am new to this site...
I have lost a lot of weight, but for some reason I still feel fat.
Has anyone experienced this????

Yep, every single day! 50 lbs down, but I am 160 on a 5'1" frame, so it feels like I've lost nothing at all. In fact, I feel FATTER than I ever did at my heaviest. I'm sure even 30 lbs down I will STILL feel fat. I know that I need to tackle this emotional issue so that it definitely does not control my life

Only every day!! How much have you lost and how much do you have to go? I've lost 50 and I still have 30 left. I think I look great and then I'll catch a bad photo of myself and realize how much I have left! I hope this feeling shrinks as I shrink!

Ive lost a ton of weight and still feel fat some days. I hope my mind can catch up soon so I stop seeing a fat person in the mirror.

Yep, all the time. Mind you, I suppose I AM still fat, really. Just less fat than it was.

It takes the brain a long time to catch up with what's in the mirror. I take photos every so often to compare, because I might not see the difference in myself, but when I look at naked pictures of my front, back and sides from 17st 9, 16st, and 14st 9, I can see loads of difference! So I'd totally recommend taking the odd photo to give your brain a helping hand realising you don't look the same.

I look at pictures of me from highschool or look at my size 6 pants and think back to how I thought I was a fatty in highschool and can't believe it.

I think it's tough to break out of that mentality. It's almost like gender reassignment, isn't it? If you've been a man or woman your entire life and been unhappy with it and then make the change to be what you feel inside, it takes getting used to. Your eyes will still move to traits you used to have and, although they are very diminished now, you can still see them.

Same with former fat ladies, we look to our stomachs or our hips and we still "see" fat, because it's normal and healthy for there to be a little there. But we don't see it as a little, we just see it.
