Default Dizzy

So my husband just told me that he has been dizzy/lightheaded the last two days. He said it more from going from sitting to standing. This is his third week on the program and he doesn't want to quit. He gets three packets in a day, his meat and veggies. He gets his salt and oil too.

Thanks in advance for the great info.

I think He should be having 4 packs since he is over 200 lbs and a man. Also the headaches and dizzy should pass soon, it took my husband about 3 weeks to adjust. Make he is getting plenty of his salt and water. Happy OP

Thank you! I told him to start with 4 and he said he wasn't really hungry to have 4, but does have an egg white. Should he still have a 4th even if he isn't hungry or is the egg white enough?

Have you checked to see if his blood pressure is low or low for him?
That would be using more salt to see if it resolves, in my experience.
Is he taking the vitamin, potassium/calcium/magnesium supplements?

I can understand why he is reluctant on the third packet, but he might just not be getting enough calories right now. He could add that packet to a meal, perhaps have two packets at breakfast or a packet and a whole egg plus two egg whites.

He could always do it for a few weeks and then drop it as his weight continues to drop.

That is called Orthostatic hypotension. The best way to avoid it is to change positions more slowly. There may be some sort of issue with his blood pressure secondary to low blood volume or insuffient salt intake BUT many other things can contribute (such as medication, possibly insufficient nutrition, etc)

Try 1/4 tsp. of the salt in his palm, lick it, follow by water if you like. Helped me with the same problem my first several weeks OP, low blood pressure.

And I started at 265 and never had a 4th packet, although my coach said I could the first week or two if I needed it. I also had the same issue with the standing up for the first month or so OP due to an already at times low blood pressure. Eventually it went away and only have it now occasionally. Some extra salt might help just till this phase passes.

Morning all, my blood pressure is normally very low, so my coach has had always had me add a full salt bullion cube every day. That helps. Also a piece of dill pickle is loaded with salt and helps too.

I know this is an old thread but I was struggling today. Dill pickle is a great and tasty idea. I felt like I was going to pass out in my son's daycare parking lot. Not good!

DH started at 296 and was on five a day. I started at 328 and was on four. Still am. DH has never dropped below four.

I've been having the same issue lately though - was especially bad in Vegas. Maybe it was because it was so hot? But even now it's happening again at home. Weird. Going to mention it again to my doctor when I see her in a few weeks.
