Default Stress

Do any of your body's hold onto weight, retain more water, etc. when you're stressed?

I have a professional designation exam tomorrow, and a busy weekend and travel next week, so my head is swimming, and I'm up a couple of pounds this morning.

I think stress does play a factor in our weight losses. Even Jillian Michaels had made the comments a couple times on BL regarding a contestants weight loss being low due to stress.
Hang in there!

Mine does but usually it is due to binging when I am stressed. Although I have noticed that I retain fluid when I am stressed even when I am sticking to plan. I hope your exam goes well

Thanks! I'm doing okay on the eating front in terms of binging, though my diet soda intake is up. But I'm eating lots of veggies and trying to be sure I'm full of broccoli not pizza!

Yes I do, but not from the stress itself, more so from the lack of motivation to work out and eat right.

Hang in there though and try to stay away from the pizza!

Simple answer - yes. Cortisol can increase water retention.
