HI guys.... I have funny story to share.
You know how I mention I only weigh in another state so that I stay off the scales. Well... I went to weigh and the scale showed a 23 lb GAIN in one week !!!!
I was just totally shocked. :yikes:
I looked again... and then AGAIN...... Yep... up 23 lbs !!!!
Then ... suddenly... I noticed it also showed that I lost 100 lbs too. :dizzy:
The scale was broken. LOL LOL
It showed me in the 200's instead of the 300's. LOL
What a rollercoaster ride that was.

So.. I don't know if I lost or not. And that is okay.
My responsiblity is to follow my food plan. I have no power over the results.
Sometimes we lose when we don't deserve to... and sometimes we gain when we don't deserve that either. That is why I stay away from the scales. I don't always have the "maturity" required to accept that fact of life. :o LOL

I know I feel better on plan.
I know I am happier on plan.
I don't need to know if I lost a pound in a week or not.
I know it will come off... if I stay true to my food plan.

Ok now I'm so so mad:mad: !!!! That lovely finger that hits whatever the magic key is when you have this long post all ready to go and then poof it's gone!!!

Okay, let me start again.......

2cute, you make me  so hard. I wish I could not worry about the scales, but hey there are far worse things I could be addicted to than the scales. But wow, if it told me I had gained 23lbs in 1 week I would have shot the thing there on site, or at least given it a good pounding:s: .

Tina, I know I have given either 2cute or Lucky heck about this before STARTING A NEW THREAD DOES NOT COUNT AS A POST. So get those fingers a moving there chickee pooh.:D

Me.......I had been getting lax about the exercise thing again...but yesterday and today I decided to walk to the end of the road and back, it's all up hill coming back. Well I thought it was a mile round trip.......guess what?????? Its 1 mile and 2/10ths. So hurray for me, did more than I thought. The food is all still good, staying within the points range. Tomorrow is official day~~ I will post you know. But I have to meet my boss in 3 towns over at 7 a.m tomorrow to go to a training seminar that is 1 hour away....that gets over at 1:30 and I have to be back in my own town at 3:30 to be at a parent/teacher conference for my oldest, to see if he still needs/qualifys for special needs for his reading. He is in the 5th grade and all the tests they did say he is reading and comprehending end of 4th grade level, so he is still a little behind. We shall see what they say. Really is hard to sit there with 10 other people around you and your motherly instincts kick in and you want to so much protect your child while all these people are talking......oh well motherhood. I sometimes think he can do it, just really lazy about it. The other day he said "well if they would give me stuff to read that I am interested in it would be ok". Can you imagine???? I had to explain to him he had not seen anything yet....wait till american history and all that...although he may like that, I hated it and only passed by the skin of my teeth.

Well hope there is more to read when I check back later. I will try to make chat later but need to go to bed early too.

God Bless America!

Hi everybody! My food issues are resurfacing. I have not been doing as well as I would like.

I didn't WI (not Wisconsin) on Monday because my youngest had a visit to the oral surgeon to get his 4 wisdom teeth taken out. He actually did pretty well. The surgeon is wonderful. My baby had extensive work done about 3 years ago with this guy and came through with flying colors and that's what happened again this time.

I've been running alot this week because I have to do it between checking on the baby. I know, I know, at almost 22 I shouldn't be calling him the baby and he probably could take care of himself, but I'm still going to mother him, and he doesn't seem to mind too much.

We are also getting ready to send him back to school. He's moving up on Monday and my mom and I will take his stuff up on Tuesday. For those of you that remember, I always take my mom with me to drop him off and pick him up because her brother is in a nursing home in Frankenmuth which isn't far from the kid's school.

Donna: Boy, what's the cause of all the fires? Arson? Seems like that would be pretty unnerving. * That e-mail you received was very special. Here, here for the men and women who are fighting for us!

Deon: Oooo, a bike ride. I haven't been on a bike in years. I would have to invest in a new BIG seat and I'm not sure the skinny tires of a 10 speed would even hold me without some major complaints.

Steph: I'm glad you're keeping up with the walking. Good job. I'm sure it will pay off for you.

Mary: I was sorry to hear about your brother's troubles. I hope that he will get his head together and realize that there is alot to live for. Regardless, none of this is your fault. Keep your chin up. [[[hugs]]]

Jen: I just can't imagine what you're going through. [[[HUGS]]] I hope that you are able to get that flight home. My prayers are with you and your family as well as all of the other soldiers and families who are torn apart at this time.

Tina: It sounds like you had a great weekend too. I'm so glad that you and honey had a nice time away from it all. And no, it can't get any better than that!!!

Lucky: I'm prayin', girlfriend. Hope you get that job. You've been wanting to move for some time now. I hope it comes through for you.

Baylee: WooHoo for you! Good job on the 4 pounds! You go girl!!!

Sandy: I'm a scale hopper too. But my problem recently is I weigh more than the scale will weigh so I've had to give that up. And to be honest with you, I feel totally lost without being able to jump on every morning. * Good job on the walk. It's nice when we find out that we've done more than we thought. * Sounds like you have a busy day going on. Hope the scale makes you happy today.

2cute: I'm not sure I'd be stepping on that scale again. OMG, a 23 pound gain in a week? I bet you freaked! But then the 100# loss doesn't sound too bad. If only it were that easy!

Well girls. Honey's on his way home, so I'm going to go fire up George and put on some chicken breasts, me thinks. The baby is just moving back into more solid foods today and I'm sure that chicken and potatoes will sound good to him. He's had about enough mush!

It's Survivor night, so I won't see you in chat, if that's what you're all doing. Love  to all.

03-26-2003, 08:09 PM
Thin: I have one question regarding your cartoon...why do those girls boobs not bounce? Must be cosmetic surgery!!!! Hey, I have a 25 year old and a 29 year old and they are still my babies. Dh is always telling me they aren't but they are and always will be! As for the fires, seems there are lots of electrical problems! Makes me real nervous!

Sandy: I am proud of you girl to get a walk in even unexpected. Keep up the exercise though, it will make those lbs come off faster!

Deon: I would love to ride a bike as I used to ride one as a teen all the time. Unfortunately, besides having to have a seat the size of a car seat made, I don't think my knees could take it. Sure do miss it though. It was the one thing I really miss doing.

Mary: Just love your brother to death, but I would certainly not get in the middle of his relationship/child problems. Sometimes that can turn on you and could make things worse for him.

As for all you other ladies, I am proud to call you my friends. If today would be the last day God allows me to be on this earth I can truly say, you have richly blessed my life.

Everybody take care and remember me and my stubborn computer when you chat tonight. I am there in spirit!

Went to chat but no one was there see you all tomorrow

03-27-2003, 12:34 AM
WOW ... It is REALLY slow in here today.

Donna... those jumpers are wearing Thins Super Duper bras.

Mary.. my daughter got me hooked on American Idol so I will always be a no show until it goes off. :o LOL

Thin... both of my daughters had their wisdom teeth removed within the last 6 months. One more thing we are alike. :D
Your weekend sounded like a blast !!! I just read in our little local paper tonight they are having one of those mystery dinners here. But you have to become a character and dress accordingly... that ruled my husband out immediately.

Tina... GREAT photos !!! You brought tears to my eyes with a couple of your statements... but this one was just too much for me.
one point, we were sitting in our seats, the sun was on our backs, dh had his arm around me, cars were humming around the track and I just thought, "Can life can any better than this?"
That was just sooooooooo sweet !!!!!! I was sooo wishing that was me at that moment.
To have the unconditional love of the man you love.

Here is the other quote I loved....dh wanted to take the picture because he thought I looked pretty with the wind blowing through my hair. How romantic is that !!!!! Ahhhhhh

Jen... I am sooo sorry your husband cannot be home with you. I am so happy though that you have a good relationship with your mom and want her with you during your times of need. I love my mom and have a good relationship ... but she is the LAST person I would turn to.

Sandy... my daughter told me to tell you she loves your avatar. She does not read our site but she peeks over my shoulder sometimes when I am posting.

Lucky... fingers, toes and eyes all crossed for you and your new job. :crossed:

And for the rest... I am sorry but I can't remember what else was on the last page. :^: I will catch you the next time you post... which hopefully will be on THANKFUL THURSDAY.

03-27-2003, 12:41 AM
Thought I should check in before everyone forgets about me.  I'm doing peachy keen over here in Ontario--holding steady at 135 pounds lost with a current weight of 135 pounds! :) And... that's where I plan to hold it. At 5 foot 7, that seems about the perfect weight!

My favorite activity now, to lift my spirits, is to shop for clothes. I don't even need to buy anything... I just peruse the isles and try on something when it suits my fancy. Just knowing that I could choose from pretty well anything out there, and it would fit, makes me feel great! PLUS... I'm getting so many sweet deals on the more summery clothes that are coming out. I DO have to buy an entire new wardrobe for myself this summer. :)

Hmm... one of the reasons my presence here has been scarce is because I'm busy writing down my thoughts on weight loss... either content for my eventual website... or a book maybe... who knows? I DO however read all your postings everyday!

Sandy: I laughed out loud when I read your response to 2Cute's experiences with the broken scale. I pictured you blowing it to smitherines with a shotgun!

Jen: I just wanted you to know that my thoughts are with you and your family. I can't even imagine my husband being sent off to fight... and I completely understand you wanting your mom! :) Hope all the ladies here can provide you with some much needed support!

A big hello to all my other lovelies out there!

Sara :)
Highest weight: 270
Current weight: 135

Ok ladies there really is a bike out there with a big seat on it. My big butt fits on it, and it has mountain bike tires so it is plenty sturdy. I have to say riding the bike is about the only kind of exercise I "love" besides swimming and I won't go to a public pool and I can't afford the insurance to own one big enough to do laps in. But anyway, if it is what you love, you can find it. I am eating well and had comments that maybe I look slimmer, well at least I don't look so "full" all the time, and I have really nice family around me.:D But I do feel better, tomorrow is Weigh in so we'll see, and I will try not to be so dissapointed if I haven't lost. Though I should!!!:D Will check back in tomorrow.

I found this article in another site... but thought we could use it here too.

STALLS -- what's happening and why
Here is an article on what causes stalls and what's happening internally during a stall.

Why we work so hard, but nothing seems to change...
A biologist at Berkeley shared something very revealing about 4 years ago that helps us all through the erratic weight fluctuations you invariably encounter:

Fat cells are resilient, stubborn little creatures that do not want to give up their actual cell volume. Over a period of weeks, maybe months of "proper dieting", each of your fat cells may have actually lost a good percentage of the actual fat contained in those cells. But the fat cells themselves, stubborn little guys, replace that lost fat with water to retain their size. That is, instead of shrinking to match the reduced amount of fat in the cell, they stay the same size! Result - you weigh the same, look the same, maybe even gained some scale weight, even though you have actually lost some serious fat.

The good news is that this water replacement is temporary.
It's a defensive measure to keep your body from changing too rapidly. It allows the fat cell to counter the rapid change in cell composition, allowing for a slow, gradual reduction in cell size. The problem is, most people are frustrated with their apparent lack of success, assume they have lost nothing, and stop dieting.

However, if you give those fat cells some time, like 4-6 months, and ignore the scale weight fluctuations, your real weight/shape will slowly begin to show. The moral of the story - BE PATIENT!

Good morning from the early bird! I woke up at three and instead of talking my poor husband out of much needed rest until 5, I decided to get up.

I am really sorry I can't seem to make the chat work. I tried again last night as like always, as soon as I try to send a message, the computer boots me off and locks up and I have to completely reboot. DH can't seem to find what causes it.

Sara: We are all so very proud of you and what you have accomplished. I certainly hope you don't feel uncomfortable posting more often because you have acheived what none of the rest of us have yet. We are all thrilled for you!

2cute: Thanks for the article. I sure hope it helps everybody to know their efforts are not in vain!

Deon: My condo is directly across the courtyard from the pool so as soon as it opens and is warm enough, in I go everyday. When I was in Indiana, I loved getting in the pool and doing water aerobics even by myself. When I still lived up there and worked for the law firm, they paid half our memberships to this really spectacular health and lifestyle center. They had water aerobics that I went to 3 times a week so I remembered all the exercises. It is great for me because there is no stress on my knee.

Mary: You always seem to catch the girls incommunicado when you go to the chat room! Hope things with your brother are improving. I know it has to be stressful for you.

Lucky: We keep on praying for you and your job. If it is meant to be it will be. Keep your chin up.

Thin: I am sorry you were yoyoing with me last night. I know you must have thought, "What kind of screwball woman is this?" I just wish I knew what it was about that chat that I cannot stay on.

Tina: Where are you darling? I wanted to tell you that I thought you should wear your hair back (you said wind was blowing) more often. It thins your face quite a bit I think.

Baylee: Way to go with the weight loss. That is terrific!

Jen: I just want you to know, I am giving you a big hug right now! You just concentrate on the time you and dh have until he has to leave and make the very most of it! We love you here and are here every moment for you. Let me know if I can help in any way!

Steph: How's it going girl? Staying OP and getting the huff and puff in?

Today is errand and running around day. I need to go and get my hair cut as it is driving me nuts. I think I am going to run to Walmart's early this am after taking hubby to work and get hair color and do it before I go and get it cut. I usually do it after, but my hairdresser always makes a comment about me needing a color (I think because he wants me to let him do it, but I am not paying $75-100 for something I can do for under $10 tops!) Today is cat shots day! I told dh I am not taking that psycho cat to the vet by myself! I will sure be glad when he can be neutered and declawed next month.

Well, you all have a great morning and stay OP. Don't forget those tapes, walks, bike riding, running whatever!

I'm not MIA! I'm here! I've just been so busy the last couple of days....you know, getting unpacked and trying to get back to "normal life."

First things first: I have been a little lax in my eating habits lately and it's time to shape up! :drill: Don't get me wrong, I'm not even close to eating the way I used to, just eating more than I should each day and not journaling the way I should. :nono: Don't you worry about me though girls...I'm fine. Just time to get back on the stick, so to speak.

Jen: Hey sweetie, my thoughts are with you and your family during this time. There's nothing wrong with wanting your Mom either from time to time. Even though mine's a loon, I still need here too. I think we all do at times. Also, we usually chat around 7:00 or 8:00 est.

2cute: I am thankful for you, my friend. You broke my heart with your last post to me. It is wondrous to have someone to love you just like you are. Remember, although it's not the same, I love you just the way you are. Also, thank you so much for the scale article. How did you know I needed to hear that today?

Donna: Hello my sweet friend. I'm here. Don't send out a private investigator for me yet. I'm undecided about the hair thing. I've thought about letting my bangs grown out so I could wear my hair off my face, but I've had my bangs for so long, I'm kinda scared to let them grow. Know what I mean? :?:

Sara: We are very proud of you and all your accomplishments, but don't forget the ones that need you! Hop in here and see us more often.

Deon: You are a much braver woman than I. The last time I tried to ride a bike, I coasted about 2 feet and then fell in a pile in the driveway. Don't worry though...dh helped me up. After he stopped laughing... :censored: Good for you though. I'm proud of you.

Mary: I didn't forget you either, my southern friend. You haven't mentioned the library alot lately, of course, I guess you've had other things on your mind. My thoughts and prayers are still with you and your brother.

Lucky: Ok lady...time for a hug. I need a REAL REAL big one, so here goes: {{{{{{{{{{{HUG}}}}}}}}}}
Ok, that may hold me over for a little while. I have said a prayer for you and your job and if it's meant to be, it will happen. I've also included a little picture for you at the bottom. Oh well, I can't lie. It's for me too. :s:

Baylee: Sounds like you are doing so good on your walk around the world trek! I can't keep up with you though. 8 WATP in 1 day? You rock girl! :strong:

Thin: Sounds like you had an absolutely awesome weekend too! The girls kept the thread hopping while we were gone though, didn't they? It's taken me forever to catch up. I've always wondered what one of those mystery weekends were like, and your descriptions were awesome....you took me right there with you. Well, almost. :^:

Duckie: Where are you at girlie? I know you don't get to stop in a lot, but stop in when you can. Remember we're always here for you and think of you often.

Michelle: Now hear this! :drill: It's time to get yourself back on track little girl. I was at the track when you had a meltdown, but I'm back now and I'm ready to kick some tail! Mine too! Come on sweetie, we are doing this together, remember?

Sandy: Ok...Ok! I'm here! I know that starting a thread doesn't count as a post, and how did I know YOU would call me on it? :sorry: I'm very proud of you and your exercise you've been doing lately. It doesn't matter how much you do, as long as your doing it. Your doing so well and I'm very proud of you. :smug:

Kat: Ok, I know for sure you have not posted on this thread yet and I demand you get your tail in here right now! :drill: Yes, I know you posted on the last thread, but I'm bad and can't remember what you said and I can't go back and look for fear of this stupid work computer telling me I have performed an illegal operation and then shutting me down, so I'll say this, I love you and I need some of your wit. Also, congrats on your daughter getting into the school she wanted. I'm very happy for her.

Ok, I know I've forgotten some and I'm very sorry but Chatty Cathy has been bugging me for the last hour telling me that it is her turn on the computer, at least this way, she might shut up for a few minutes and I can think.

Anyways, I'll pop by later. I love you all and I'm looking forward to a nice long chat.

Here's what I promised Lucky. Hmm, I sure do respect his racing ability.

03-27-2003, 02:46 PM
Okay gals, I think I owe you a post, I've been in the lurking mode lately, and haven't been posting, so it's time to snap out of it, and post a big long one:smug:

Well where do I start, the diet is nil, not trying very hard at all, but over the last month or so I've maintained so I guess I'm doing something right. Finally went and used my gift certificate that I got for christmas, for Pennington's, and got 2 pairs of pants, and guess what to my big surprise, I was able to fit in a size 24 with room.:p :cb: I'm sure the last time I went shopping I could barely fit into the biggest sizes, Show's just how often I get to go shopping. Now if I can get back into the groove and lose some more weight, I might even wear shorts this summer, something I really feel self conscious about.:?: We've been getting some really nice spring weather so I've been out walking as well, So from now on I need to make better choices, and do more excersise, would love to go bike riding or rollerblading this summer.

Were still really struggling money wise and have had to make payment arrangements with the utilitie companys, so for the next 2 months or so we will be pretty much dirt poor, and you know what makes me the madest, DF still gets his smokes, and we have hardly any food in the house, how can some one be so selfish, how do I get it thru his thick scull that we can't afford cigs, and that he needs to quit or cut back drastically, I know it's a huge habit to break, and no where not starving, but it's such a waste of money, when the money's tight, grrr:devil: I don't know why but he always seems to get what he want's and I go with out, sewing up the crotch of worn out pants over and over again, and using safety pins for buttons, oh I can go on and on, but will stop here before I get even mader:mad:

We got new computers at work, and they sold off the old ones so I bought one ( after telling you of how poor I am, haven't paid for it yet ):o They were only $50 dollars, and the monitor were $ 20,
pretty good deal if you ask me, Now I have to get it programed properly, there set up with Window NT, so I'm not sure if I can even log into it at home, it will probalby cost me more to install
Window 98 0r 2000 then the whole computer cost. Oh well still a pretty good deal. An eary Birthday present to my self, I'm sure DF wont be able to get me anything, we don't get paid again till next Friday.

Tina your pictures are great, you look so slim, you definetly don't look like 270lbs, you carry it well, I hope I look as good as you when I lose 20more lbs. Thanks for remembering me.

I think from my mom for my B-day I'm going to ask her to pay for a new dew, I'm in desperate need of a hair cut, need a new look, color, something different, I want a change:chin:

They put up a new web blocker so I don't know if I 'll be able to log on much at work any more, what will I do, that's my main purpose for coming to work, ( besides making some money ) I'll be lost, hopefully I can get the computer at home up and running real quick.:crossed:

Oh yeah I got the cleaning job at my work, so that's an extra $400 dollars a month, one night a week, as well as I'm taking over the pop machine I stalk it and keep what ever money It makes. So things look like they might get better in the near future:^:

Well I better hurry up and post this before it boots me off, just remember I love you all, and look forward to reading each and everyone of your post's, everyone of you have supported me and motivated me in one way or another.:grouphug:

03-27-2003, 03:58 PM
Look at all you girls have given me to read!!!! So it being thankful Thursday and all.......

I have been gone to a training session for work (big waste of time) they actually read us the manual???? Okay, like I could not have done that? Anyway it did pass the day and was a day away from the office. Now I just popped in waiting for 3:30 to get here for my school meeting. There was no sence in driving all the way home then back to town again. So the office is empty and I'm reading and laughing out load to my hearts content.

Today is WI day for me, and I will post it when I get home for the grand total.....I'm acutally excited, think I met another small goal...we shall see.

My boss wanted to stop for lunch today......uggggghhh....but I was starved so I said OK, we went to ARBYs, I ordered a chicken wrap sandwich and a baked potatoe, did not realize they put butter on it so I immediatly scooped off what I could.....bad people!!!! I guess I have not been out to eat for so long I forgot you have to ask for the stuff you dont want put on!!! But all in all I think I did okay? Even if I didn't I'm not fretting over this one, because, I was in a fast food place and could have had fries or onionrings or lots of that good old fattning stuff that was just sitting there for me to order.:T but guess my little angel voice won out this time. I said I have worked to hard to quit now!!!

Well chicklets, I will write more when I get home, for now I leave you with the thought of what goal did she reach????? You tell me and I will let you know for sure when I get back.....

I only have a couple minutes and am trying to do this with only partially dry nails (and you know how OCD I am about my nails so this is nuts!) but I couldn't go get dh before posting.

Duckie: I said a quick prayer before posting for you and your money woes. I can truly sympathize. I have been there more times than I care to name!

Tina: Tonester looks pretty cute in the latest pic. Did he shave?

I went and died my hair platinum blond! I then went and got it all cut off again. My hairdresser loved the color and cut my hair to make the color look good. I would say I look 30, but you know that is :censored: ! Let's just say I feel younger and leave it at that!

My thankful Thursday is that most of our troops have come out of this safe so far, that dh can't be called back to active duty unless they get through every man or woman younger than 50!, that I have a dh who this morning as I was bent over the sink buck naked said, "gorgoeus, your butt has shrunk in!" God love him!! and for every lady that posts here. Someday, somehow I want us all to have a 300+ reunion and I don't care if I am 75 I am gonna wear a mini skirt and a tank top with no bra (and no, those are not deflated baloons sticking out from under my skirt!)

Talk later! Donna ;) ;)

03-27-2003, 07:31 PM

I'm here...just lurking...nothing to say

(except...WOW! Congratulations, Sandy! Great job!)

I'll be back when the PMS passes...or I have a lobotomy...or something...

03-28-2003, 02:06 AM
Frist of all I am very sad, I'm not on 2cute's thankful list:cry: But I guess I will get over it.:D
Second of all, I no longer hate my scales, well I hate mine but not the ones at WW meeting. I lost 4 lbs. :cb: I'm soo happy. I knew it just had to be the scales here, I just bought them and they haven't had the same reading twice, so i think I will return them.

Tina: Thanks for the encouragement, I too fell into a pile the first time I got on a bike after years, but it is something I absolutely love to do so I just got back on it and away I went, and last summer I was actually up to 3miles, so I need to get back to it. And reach my 7 mile goal.

Duckie: I understand about the cigs problem but if you only knew the addiction it is as bad as any addiction, I am an ex smoker. I watched my father in law die of lung cancer, I mean I was there when he passed and it sucked, but it still took my husband and I 2 yrs to get around to quitting, but we did it. Just be understanding. Although I do know what it is like to be broke and still be buying cigs, seems a little ridiculous. Hang in there.

Donna: you make me laugh:lol: deflated balloons! And you definitely owe your DH a big hug. How sweet is that?! And I agree about a big reunion. Sounds like a blast. :hat:

And Sandy: a great big :bravo: to ya! I too had a 4lb. loss this week. Feels great don't it!:cb: Keep on dancin and we might take off another 4. :cp: :cb:

Here's to another great week! I am thankful for another 4lb loss.

362.4/353.8 total loss 8.6 in 3weeks.

03-28-2003, 07:05 AM
Deon, thank for dancing with me, now let me dance with you:cb: opps sorry if I stepped on your toes, I'm not used to leading...LOL

Duckie: I feel for you, I really do. We have been at the point were we were struggling just to buy groceries. But the there always seemed to be money for ciggs. But I quit almost a year ago now. Then my hubby made me a deal if he quit smoking he would have enough money get a new truck, well he got the new truck in January and has yet to quit:mad: I call him on it all the time and it just pi$$e$ me off to no end that he did not quit. I mean he is a fisherman (lobster) and the season that he makes his money is the summer and fall, we have to bank money to live the rest of the time and hope that he has some part time job or goes another type of fishing for the winter. Well here we are almost in April and although the bills are pretty much up to date, I can see that we are starting to struggle again (this happens every spring) but he always has money for ciggs! Okay thats not a good story, I could ***** and moan all day!!! But I try not to because I know there are others far worse off than me. But I hate when I am looking forward to payday and then thinking oh pooh my check is all gone before I get it. How did we survive on just his when I was a stay at home mom? I don't get it? Anyway {{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}} to you and remember we are always here to talk to if you need us.

2cute: I'm still singing 'THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE'

KAT: Nice to see you even if your just lurking.:D Hugs to you.

Hugs to all,

This is gotta be short and sweet...I think I got it out of my system and today is a fresh new week for me. I didn't get to WI (not wisconsin) today because it was my day off and I HAD to go to a meeting in Brookhaven ( 1hour drive) because we are doing a bank conversion...I will probably be missing in action till after the 1st of April and then I need to catch up on my school work AGAIN!!

Andrew was sick again with a fever and really bad sore throat and cold and now he is just whiney and coughing....poor little guy!

Deon I am really sure that 2Cute didnt' mean to leave you off her list...so don't be upset...its hard to remember everybody and just when you think you got 'em all that brain of ours has a burp and lets out some thought or whatever is lingering in there!!

I didn't get to read all the posts yet so I can't respond to you all...but do know that I love each and every one of you and I will be back!

TTFN Michelle

Deon, Deon, Deon .... You must be mistaken !!! I am sure I remembered YOU.... go back and look again !!! I will wait here while you look... go on now...I will wait here.

(2cute humming "This little light of mine" while she waits for Deon to go look. You can all look.)

See .... I told you I remembered you !! :D

Actually.... I am soooooo very sorry !!! :( I don't know how I did that.? I was SURE I got everyone. It is the only time I did not apologize in advance for forgetting anyone. I am soooo embarrassed. :o But it is not because I don't love you... it is because I don't have a sharp mind somedays. :^:
Congratulations on your 4 lbs !!!

Kat.... I need that lobotomy more than you.
You are funny even when you are sad.
I don't like your "Hide and Seek" game.
You are going to HAVE to come out and play with us because...
I am not going to post again until you DO !!!! TAG !!! You're it !!!!

Sandy... 4 more lbs !!! Way to go girl !!
When my DH and I were first married his job depended on the weather. He could not work in the rain or a lot of snow and ice.
He was a land surveyor. I am glad those days are over. Lots of jobs are not guaranteed salary and I feel so sorry for them. I am glad you are smart enough to put back for the slow times.

Hi Baylee !!! Bye Baylee !!

Michelle... We will miss you while you are gone. Just don't play an April Fools day joke on us and not come back.

Donna... You inspired me and I went and got my hair cut too !!
Then I went and bought me some coloring. "Champagne"

Duckie... So you are an April Fools baby ... how cool.
Congratulations on your size 24 !!!! And loose too !!!!
I just noticed your 48lbs loss !!! That is really cool.

Jen... How are your plans going towards coming home while you husband is gone??
Where is home??

Tina... Thank you for drilling Kat back in here. You need to get that drill sergent of yours busy getting a few more in here more often.

Sara... Am I going to be in your book?? I am 2cute to forget. :p

Thin.. got any more mysteries to solve?

Okay ladies... I spend wayyy to much time on this computer.
I did do a lot of work before I got on today... that is why I felt justified in a long post..... BUT now it is time to get back to work.

Don't forget .... today is FUN FRIDAY !!!
For my fun... I am going to....
Play Tag with Kat. I don't like her hide and seek game
I am going to play dress up. Going to dye my hair
I am going to play chef. :chef: Making me a spinach/atrichoke dip
I am even going to paint my nails !!!
And last but not least... I am going to exercise. :nose: Ooppss.

03-28-2003, 10:30 AM
Good morning, everyone! My food SUCKS!!! :( I'm just in an eatting frenzy this week and can't seem to stop myself. I'm not in an emotional funk or anything so I'm not sure what this is all about, but I hate it!

I'm terribly concerned that this BIG fat A$$ of mine won't fit in the seats for my oldest son's graduation from college the first of May. I think that's part of it. I was so gungho to lose enough starting the first of the year and here we are the end of March and I have not done well at all. Now I guess in the back of my head I'm saying what's the difference, I'll never lose enough to fit with just 5 weeks to go, so why bother. I'm going to be embarassed either way. Gosh, this SUCKS!!!

Anyway, I don't really have time to be here. I must get this fat A$$ out to work. I have about 7 stops today. You'd think with as much as I'm in and out of the car all day, that I would be able to lose, but that's not the case.

Before I go though, I have to say to Deaon and Sandy, CONGRATS on your wonderful losses! That is really outstanding!!! Keep up the good work.

I've got to run, ladies. I will see you all later. No FUN FRIDAY for me. :(

God Bless America!

Deon: Congrats on that

I am going to try this again. I have half my upstairs cleaned, but don't want to blow the neighbors out of bed with my NASCAR vacuum! Um, my driver is....The Rock! (God what a body!) I have to steamclean carpets tomorrow and I am making my grocery list to go shopping in the morning. I use a floppy and the computer so I can save and go back and add without scribbling etc. I also do my large shopping at the commissary so I know the aisles and set up my list accordingly. Yeah, I know, only a nut like me would super organize their shopping list and type it for crying out loud! I know you will be jealous, but dh always goes with me AND carries in ALL the bags and then helps put stuff away. The man may be old, but he still has what it takes!

Deon and Sandy: Congrat on your losses. That is great. Oh Sandy, you know I am the queen of the scale haters, but I have to use them occasionally. I have 2 actually, a regular and a digital and dh has weighed on both and is only about 1-2 lbs difference between them. I still can't use the digital as it comes up E (for excellent perhaps  ) There was a 20 lb difference between what I weighed on the scale in Indiana and my home one, but I guess I should just stick with the home one and go with it for now.

Kat: PMS or not you are expected to come here and join in the B#$%^ topics. Currently it is cigarettes and lack of money for them! Be glad you don't have PMS and menopause. I ovulate several times a month and each time get these wonderful little stabs in the groin depending on which ovary is trying to kick out an ancient egg!

2cute: I actually bleached my hair. I love it. I did it on a whim after seeing an older actress with short white hair and wanted to know what I would look like with white hair! I am demented I know! My sweet kooky hairdresser called me back for my appt yesterday by saying, "ok, skinny it's your turn!" God love his gay little heart.

Thin: Oh sweety, you just go and be proud of that boy of yours and just know I had the same problem when my daughter graduated. I was miserable and as our last name is Wilkinson, that tells you I had to keep my big behind in the seat for almost the whole thing!

Regarding the cigarette disscussion, think about this. How addicted were you? Does your dh or df smoke more than you did? I don't excuse the promises broken, the money not there that was spent, or the deal breakers, but it IS an ADDICTION. Think about the times you spent food budget money you didn't have on snacks or in my case soda pop. You guys, in the really lean times, I would scrounge for enough pennies to get a 2 liter and then wouldn't share. Oh, you guys, I am sitting here crying about how low that was. I cannot believe I was that far down. So at least try and be a bit understanding that they are out of control! (but kick their butts anyway for good measure!)

Ok I am going to give this an old college try: Today, stay focused, get in your :strong: :jig: , don't eat :hb: :cbg: :cookie: , stay strong and don't :faint: from your journey!

Love you all!

I thought the website was a little flooey:rolleyes:...wasn't sure if it was them or me...I guess it's them. One good thing, I'm back to getting my email notifications again! They had just started up again, and stopped again shortly after that, now this morning, I'm getting them again...hmmm...weird

Some quick stuff before I get booted...

Good morning all!

I'm feeling a little perkier today. {{Thanks, Tina! love ya!}}

I've been eating everything that wasn't nailed down for the past three or four days...I won't go near the scale! Back on track today. I'm leaving for the gym as soon as i'm done here. Since it's so gorgeous outside, I plan on getting some yard work done too. I think PMS had something to do with it, but I was quibbling with dh all week long. Not really fighting...we don't see each other enough for that. Just kind of pecking at each other. We disagree on how to discipline...hmmm...not really the word I'm looking for...perhaps, motivate the kids to be more helpful around here, or kick the studying up a notch, or just appreciate what they have. I prefer to discuss, he's more into "random scoldings," as we (the kids and I) refer to them. I tell him, you can't be gone for days at a time and come in here and start yelling at everyone. After a while, it's just like..."Oh there he goes again!" and the message gets lost in the delivery. He works long, hard hours (12 hour rotating shifts, with a 45 minute commute) sometimes 6 days in a row) so I know he's tired. So am I! (I work 4 nights a week, 11-7) plus do the bulk of the housework, laundry, yardwork...and you don't hear ME yelling at anyone. there are those here who would argue that point! Well not often, anyway. He means well, he only wants them to do their best, but his delivery is a bit abrupt at times. So I side with the kids. I know I shouldn't. They are a couple of lazy slobs sometimes, but they're good kids...Don't get me wrong, he is a wonderful husband and father, when he's not tired and grumpy, he's fun and funny and generous to a fault...I think he's just really overworked lately. If he was here every night and saw the day to day stuff, I think it would be different, he wouldn't get so hyper about things...ah well, thanks for letting me vent.

...well THAT wasn't quick!

So, now I have to run to catch my class...I'll be back later!

PS...Thanks for listening! (Like you had a choice!) well, you could scroll down...thanks, if you didn't!

03-28-2003, 10:42 AM
Geez...THREE of you posted while I was typing! I'm not ignoring you...just out of time for now. See you all later.

03-28-2003, 02:03 PM
Hi all I'm off today haven't heard from brother since Tuesday

03-28-2003, 02:33 PM
Kat: I read every single word and didn't even scroll down once. :) Boy, can I identify with you on that one. Me and dh are exactly the same way when it comes to ahem.....motivating the kids. We just got report cards yesterday and what a day that was. My kids are good kids too, but can be lazy slobs as well. Can't they all be? I'm very glad to see you lady....I've missed you. My eating hasn't been all that good lately either, I ate a whole bag of yogurt raisins again yesterday. I think I must finally admit, they are my downfall. :tape: I'm trying to find a way as we speak to take out individual servings and mark each bag with a day and only eat what I am allowed on those days. My problem is, I will want to eat Monday thru Thursdays servings on Monday. :^: I'm working on it though....I promise. {{{crossing her heart}}} Coming here does make you feel better though, doesn't it?

Oh by the way, I'm going to kill Chatty Cathy. She sat on the internet for 3 hours this morning and she has done nothing but run that mouth the entire time I've been sitting here. An hour ago, I encouraged her to eat her lunch her lunch, hoping that if she had her mouth full, she would be quiet for a little while........WRONG! She doesn't mind eating and talking at the same time...apparently.

She just reminded me that my internet time is up in 7 minutes and she wants me to play a dice game with her. I'm going slowly, but surely insane. I just know it. :dizzy:

I do have to let you guys know something that my dh said last night that I thought was very good. I was looking through some of my pictures from Bristol.....the one of me with the wind in my hair in particular. Sometimes I have to actually look at pictures to see that I am losing...the mirror doesn't always reflect what is there, if you know what I mean. I think we tend to see what we want to see sometimes. Anyways, I was griping about my eating habits as of late, and I told dh that he needed to jump on me it and he said, "I know. You don't want to look at those pictures a year from now and say, "I wish I looked like that now." Now I know that may sound wierd, but dh has always been really careful about how he helps me with my weightloss, because even when I ask him to help me, I can still be like a ticking timebomb if he says the wrong thing at the wrong time. I appreciate his help and he is so right. Anyways, I promise you....that TODAY, I will eat within in points and I will report back in with a success. I love you all.

03-28-2003, 02:34 PM
OK 2cute, I was just kidding about that but thanks for including me. I now feel totally loved. :grouphug:

Oh Thin, I feel for ya. Such negativity though. It's time to change that attitude and try to think positive. Your son is graduating college, so much to proud of. But I understand, I avoid alot of events due to chairs. Kind of ironic, I don't fit in the chairs at WW meetings.:grouphug: I think you need a big hug!!

Donna: Your just getting complimented left and right. Good for you and the ol self esteem. I actually got complimented the other day, it feels great. And your brave for doing the hair. I've tried changing but I always end up back here with long brown hair. Oh well I guess it works for me. :flow1:

On the cigs, when we quit that's when we bought our motor home. Our payments were the same as what we spent on cigs each month. But we didn't buy it til we were done smoking. Not before we quit. It is pathetic that we spent that much on damaging our lungs. :flame:

Well gotta run I think I will paint my nails today!:flow2:

03-28-2003, 03:03 PM
My poor girls! It seems like everyone is having a tough March don't you think so? Lots of complaining about bad eating etc. Maybe it is something in the wind!

Tina: As I don't want to encourage binging, I will not contribute my yogurt raisins (I HATE them!) to you, but hey I am pretty pathetic too, I bought a box of Chocolate Teddy Grahams thinking that was a nice "cookie" snack and wasn't too bad calories and fat wise, but you have to keep your :censored: hand from going back into the box. I did stretch them over 3 days, but that was still very naughty. Maybe you should buy the loose kind you can get in stores and buy like a 1/4 lb or something.

Deon: That was a great idea. Jack quit when I went into the hospital for gall bladder surgery, but before then, I made him stand outside (in Northern Indiana) to smoke. I wasn't going to make it easy for him and we had moved into a really nice big apartment and I was not about to have cigarette smoke on everything.

As for children and motivational discipline (like how I used both? ) we had a real mess. Take one dad who is gone off and on for 6-9 months at a time, a stressed out mother who gets tired of dealing with the little sneaky stinkers and you have trouble. Jack was a strong disciplinarian and I of course tended to not back him because his punishments were always too harsh and didn't fit the crime. That I wouldn't do again. I would stay out of the way. They might hate us, but at least there would have been consistency. We had some real rebellion problems with the oldest and the trickle down was that my dd got ignored a lot because we were dealing with ds so much. She was immature for her age but extremely intellectually gifted so she never fit in. The son was gifted in the same way and artistically, but I recently found out hated the gifted programs we got him into because it made him different. How we could have helped them both had we known. How they ever came out half decent is beyond me. They still are far from perfect, but they are adults and only answer to themselves now!

First load of laundry should be about done so I am going to get off.
