Anyone with me? Haven't seen a post for one yet.

06-04-2012, 11:37 PM
i am! I'm 267 and started weight watchers today :) Im hoping to be out em asap!;)

06-04-2012, 11:42 PM
I'm with you.. I've been at 264 for awhile now. Need to get out of here.

06-05-2012, 08:48 AM
Yeah. I am glad you ladies are joining me. I knew I couldn't be the only one. lol

06-05-2012, 10:01 AM
I have been teetering around 260 for months, time to break out of the 26_ and 25_ .... Lets do this!

06-06-2012, 11:37 PM
I didn't see this tread I just bumped another one. I weighed in yesterday at 268.4 of course the day after my official weigh-in. Hoping the 260s does not try to make friends with me.

06-08-2012, 01:39 AM
Hi Meka, hopefully we are both outta here ASAP

06-08-2012, 08:52 AM
I've been in the 260s for months now. I've just bumped down into 258-259, and am willing to do the work to keep the numbers going down.

Remember, one pound a week will add up to over 50 by this time next year!

06-09-2012, 09:05 PM
Tomorrow's my weigh in day and if all goes well I'll be joining you folks tomorrow! But I don't plan to let those 260's and 250's stay around for too long! ;)

06-10-2012, 12:51 AM
I hope everyone's week is going well! I have had a few bad days with food but doing ok overall!

06-10-2012, 09:41 AM
Well I faced the scale this morning. I am finally out of the the 270's and did it with a bang!!!!

But these 260's better not get to comfortable. They won't be hanging around for too long! :cheer:

06-10-2012, 12:47 PM
Well I faced the scale this morning. I am finally out of the the 270's and did it with a bang!!!

Wow, way to jump right in. Congratulations! Keep it up and you will be out of here in no time.

06-10-2012, 01:07 PM
262.4 yesterday. Those 50's are getting closer!

06-10-2012, 05:48 PM
I'm floating around in the 250s....we'll know exactly where that it 2mro morning. I'm hoping to be around 254lbs. Fingers crossed. I've been to the doctor twice in a week's time and the numbers are all over the place!

06-10-2012, 08:59 PM
Me! I am in the low 250s and ready to get out of them...this week! :D

06-11-2012, 07:01 AM
Thanks everyone! :D

ReallyTrying, you can do it! :cheer:

Yesterday I didn't get in the exercise I wanted to. I had to work all day and then it was pouring down rain when I got off work. So no walk around my neighborhood last night. Bummer! I'll combat that today by walking on the treadmill during my lunch break at work and then stopping by my mom's house on my way home to begin preparing her backyard for her new Intex pool that she bought. She said that if she bought it I had to put it together. So tonight I need to cut down a small tree and dig the stump out of the ground. That will definitely be enough exercise for the evening! I can't wait to get the pool put together. Then I can add swimming to my exercise routine!

06-11-2012, 10:42 AM
I weighed in today at 266.4 :carrot: 4lbs that is the most I've lost in one week since I started. And I know those first losses were mostly water weight. :D

06-11-2012, 02:06 PM
Meka, WOO HOO!!!!!   That's great! Welcome to the club!

I walked 1.5 miles on my office treadmill at lunch again. I would REALLY love to get 10 miles in this week. I may stay late a couple of nights and walk after work or something. Either that or I'll be walking at night when I get home. We'll see which option happens!

06-11-2012, 03:14 PM
I'd made it to 243 last year . . . then things went beyond my control and sort of invaded the things I should have been in control of. I went all the way back up to 267. In March I decided it was better to make a fresh, healthy start, and I've since gone down to 252. Three more pounds and I'll be back in the 240's, and nine more pounds will get me back to my lowest last year.

Currently on day 99 of my new plan. Keep on truckin.' :carrot:

06-11-2012, 06:30 PM
I am trying to lose around 6 pounds this week to stick me into the 240s. I just ate eggs and am so uninspired. Oh well, I try to keep carbs down in the evenings and considering I got off work at 9 and am eating at 10, what a bummer. I cannot wait till I see 199. Better yet, my goal of 130 will see me throwing a party. Ha, ha. :)

HealthyMe! Thank you! Glad you got your exercise in (and at LUNCH TIME, no less!). I am going to the gym before work because I am working the late shift (1-9 p.m.). 10 miles makes me envious and you most certainly can make that! :)

06-11-2012, 08:59 PM
Thanks! :)

We just had dinner and in a few I am going walking around my neighborhood with my family. Our dog loves to get out and walk with us!

Oh crud. After logging dinner on My Fitness Pal, I am over by 330 calories today! :yikes: Time to get off my duff and get to walking!

06-12-2012, 09:51 AM
259 again this week. But at least I'm out of the 260s. And I expected to stay, with all the wine I drank last week!

06-12-2012, 01:30 PM
256.6 this morning :)

06-13-2012, 01:59 PM
Today I changed up my routine and used the stationary bike at lunch instead of the treadmill. I pedaled for 30 minutes and got in 11 miles. Wow! Forutnately I was right under an air conditioning vent so I am not too hot. I'll have to remember to use that bike again sometime! ;)

I'm a bit frustrated though. I took a peek at the scale this morning to see my progress since Sunday and the scale showed a gain of 3 pounds! WTF? I am eating within my calorie range. I am exercising daily. I honestly have no idea why I am showiong a gain, unless for some reason my body's holding on to some water or something. TOM isn't scheduled for another 2 weeks so I know that's not the problem. I really hope the scale cooperates when I weigh in officially on Sunday.

06-13-2012, 08:01 PM

This used to be a HUGE frustration of mine. If you have upped the ante on your workout regime, you could show an increase. Now this is because your muscles are basically ripped a bit from all your exercise. That is good because they will build upon that and be stronger/leaner. However, until they heal, there will be a bit of water weight gain as they are holding onto it for longer since they are really feeling the burn. Do not get discouraged! It means you're doing a good job and actually building muscle. Give it a couple of days then weigh and see if you have come down. All this advice was given to me by my friend who is a professional trainer and nutritionist. :)

As for myself, I went to the gym before work today. Dunno what has gotten in to me. I can now run for a good four minutes straight and quite a fast pace. I did an hour and half and man, my legs are feeling it. Hopefully this will show on the scale tomorrow and by the end of this week be out of the 250s forever! :D Good luck everyone! xx

06-13-2012, 10:57 PM
Wow, nice work hitting the gym before work!!!! :cheer: I can jog for 2 minutes at a time. I can't do 4 yet! Very awesome!

Thanks for the advice. It's so tough to see that number go up when I know I'm doing the right things. I just need to remember that it's most likely muscle mass and water. :)

06-17-2012, 01:52 PM
Where is everyone?

I did gain 2.6 this week. :( I 100% blame it on overeating last night and don't expect this gain to really stay around for long. I've behaved completely for nearly 2 weeks. Last night my mom made homemade lasagna and garlic cheese bread. My husband, dad, and I took my 2 daughters to a miniature animal petting zoo and then went swimming for 2 hours so by the time we got to dinner I was starving. I had 2 helpings of everything plus 3 caffeine free cokes, a slice of cheesecake, and a slice of key lime pie. It did horrible! But it really did taste good. I am sure that fully contributed to my scale's numerical increase today. But I don't plan on that staying around long. Back to the healthy eating and my comtinuous exercise. Now that there's a pool at my mom's house I can go swimming anytime I want!!!! Hooray for that! :cheer:

06-17-2012, 06:28 PM
I'm still here and still stuck at 262. But TOM made an unexpected early visit today so hopefully will see some falling of the numbers sometime late next week.

06-17-2012, 11:29 PM
My TOM put me back up to 259!! So I am still here! The high 250s have been my nemesis! How exciting Healthymewannabe-so cool that u can swim anytime. Best way to stave off post swim munchies is grab a cheese stick and a glass of crystal light! I am going to Florida for a few days and hope to get down some extra pounds from more activity.

06-18-2012, 01:29 AM
I'm still here as well. I weigh-in in the morning I don't think I'm going to have much of a lose. School is totally kicking my butt. Tell me who thinks it was a good idea for me to take 4 classes during the summer semester and work full time? :tantrum::tantrum::tantrum::tantrum:

06-18-2012, 06:24 AM
Thanks for the advice Tiff! :) I'll definitely do the cheese stick. Can't drink Crystal Light though, or anything with artificial sweeteners in it. Artificial sweeteners inhibit my HealthyTrim from working properly. It's an appetite suppressant and metabolism booster I'm taking and you can't have anything caffeinated or any artificial sweeteners while taking it.

I am so sore yesterday! I did a bunch of arm workouts with my hand weights and then did Jillian's 30 Day Shred Day 1 Level 1. I am sore today! But, no time to sit and soak it in. Gotta get moving! Day 2 Level 1 here I come!

06-18-2012, 08:01 PM
I'm here! I just have been busy with work. Last week saw me lose EIGHT pounds. :-o I cannot believe it. I don't know what exactly happened as it's not really water weight as I've been doing this for awhile. Who knows? Two more pounds and I am out of the 250s. I worked out today and hope that I will hit 249 tomorrow. -fingers crossed- Healthy, that sounds like a lovely meal. I had Mexican food and a burrito as thick as your wrist on Sunday. That saw a 1.4lb increase. I don't mind. It was worth it and now I am back to my normal healthy diet. Honestly, those two pounds are just water and you'll lose back down in no time. Don't begrudge yourself a nice meal every once and awhile. I know that I need cheese, pasta and carbs every now and again. And thank you! I can't believe I can run like I can now. I've been building up. I'm not too thrilled with my results. I want to at least run a mile without stopping by the end of this year. =) Good luck everyone! Here's to the 240s! :D

06-18-2012, 11:12 PM
This will be my 2nd week in the 260s and I'm at 264.2 that is only .2 pounds away from 40lbs loss. This is me not complaining. If all holds true I will have one more week before I see 250 something. My goal was to see 250 by my birthday which is in the 2nd week of July but we don't always get what we want. As long as I continue to get healthier and lose in the process I'm ok with missing that goal I know I will certainly get there in time.

06-19-2012, 01:29 PM
I am 265.2 as of this morning. Glad to be out of the 280's and 270's. Come on 250's I want to see you again but don't hang around too long. I'm so ready to let you go too.

06-19-2012, 07:57 PM
Hi folks! How's the journey coming for you all? Hopefully well! Today I went kayaking with my best friend. It was a lot of fun! Details are on my blog. I really hope we get to go out again. It was really pretty going down the river and seeing different animals and sights. We were out for 4 hours and 28 minutes and went 10.86 miles. Can't wait to go again!!!! :D

06-21-2012, 12:24 AM
Been following this thread a bit and finally decided to post. Hope to keep company with you ladies for the next year or so, faithfully following you to ever-decreasing weight threads. But for now - yay for no longer being eligible for the 270s/280s thread! (Though, to be fair, it wasn't that hard for me to get off those first two pounds, what with the "starting a program whoosh and all." =P)

I'm trying to be a once-a-week weigher, mostly because I want to avoid the obsessiveness with scale numbers. I also found that weighing daily made me want to avoid strength training, as it messes with the numbers quite a bit (at least at first). Since strength training is going to be crucial to my long-term weight control strategy, I decided to do it this way. We'll see how it goes.

I'm trying to do strength training 4-5 days a week and cardio 6 days a week, including couch-to-5-K. I just did Week 2, Day 1 today, and it KICKED my butt. But then, I felt SO AMAZING after it was done. I don't remember getting that kind of high from exercise for a long time. I desperately want to do it again tomorrow, but I committed to myself to only do it every other day to avoid injury, etc.

Meka - I so relate to your school/full-time job worries. It's HARD, but it will be so worth it, especially when you start looking for that first post-graduation job! I actually just graduated, and have a temporary one-year position, and part of my motivation is to get the weight down for the permanent job search ahead.

HealthyMeWannabe - I have read through your blog, and am inspired by your journey! Plus - and please forgive me for my type-A personality response - I always want to do "just a little bit more" cardio than you post. Competition spurs me. I couldn't top the 10 miles of kayaking, though. =P

Elladorine - I am so in awe of your artistic talent. Thanks for sharing it here!

Synger - I seem to remember you from the last time I posted regularly (like in 2007-08, I think). If I remember correctly, you had a baby in the middle of all of this? And you're still here. Working it. So much respect for that!

Can't wait to get to know the rest of you! Going to try to do some upper-body strength training before bed!

06-21-2012, 01:15 AM
So I got on the scale this morning and it said 262.2 my weigh-in day is not until Monday. If I weigh-in at 250 something on Monday I might just pass out even if it's 259.9 lol. I really can't remember a recent time that I wasn't around 280 something. And by recent I mean 5 plus years.

06-21-2012, 03:34 PM
268 here, have never ever been out of this for some time, I was 230 once when I was in my early 20s. I was 265 at my lowest, so, hoping to kick this to the curve!

Hi everyone!

Today the scale said 268.9, so I'm calling 269 and coming to join in with this thread for a while. Hoping I can get a steady downward trend going here :)

06-22-2012, 11:01 PM
263.6 This morning. Look out 250's I'm getting closer.

06-23-2012, 12:00 AM
I actually saw 259.6 on my scale today I knew it wasn't right so I stepped on it again and it said 261.6 but the fact that I saw it let's me know that it's close.

06-24-2012, 02:12 PM
My scale was a little whacked out this morning. I saw everything from 258 to 260. So, I settled on 259, as that came up several times and was sort of in the middle. I was disappointed that the loss wasn't more, but am excited that I didn't go through any sort of mental breakdown because of it. I'm doing strength training, which often results in water retention and less of a weight loss, which is why I'm only weighing weekly to begin with. I'm just going to keep on keeping on, and hoping that my short-term sacrifice will result in long-term gains.

06-24-2012, 04:00 PM
I weighed in at 252 for two frustrating weeks in a row, but was rewarded with a little Wednesday woosh at 248.75 (pretty major for me since I've typically been losing less than a pound a week for a while). I'm really, really hoping I'm out of the 250's for good, especially since my TOM was only 2 days away. :hyper:

06-25-2012, 12:48 PM
Hello, all, I'm going to join you. I'm 258 this morning, a touch down from yesterday. Also a bit sore, as #1 son and I spent the afternoon at the pool and I put in some yardage with the lap lanes.

06-25-2012, 02:45 PM
Hello, I'm moving in from the 280/270 group! It's exciting..but at the same time, it's the feeling of being the biggest girl in the room again. :0

I hope to get to know some of you, the last group is very supportive! :)

06-25-2012, 08:56 PM
Welcome ALEKS!!! I was definitely in your shoes when I got here a couple weeks ago.
I was hoping for that 259.9 this week but today was weigh-in day and I came in at 261 even. Not upset that was a 3.2lb loss for the week. I will just keep working towards it.

06-25-2012, 11:13 PM
Thank you Meka150 and that *is* a great loss! *dancing carrot* for you. :)

267.6 this morning, so even though I really want to do otherwise, I'm rounding up properly and calling 268! 12lbs down! Rawr! :carrot:

06-27-2012, 04:53 PM
I was 270 at the start of this week..boo. Hope to get back to 268 by Monday...

06-27-2012, 06:31 PM
Glad to see I'm not the only one :) 265 is where I am....and hopefully it'll go lower...

06-28-2012, 12:37 AM
Hi everyone! Been super busy but keeping on plan and i weighed in at 254.4 this morning!!! Yay, the scale is finally reflecting the work I am doing :)

06-28-2012, 02:36 AM
No idea what the scale will say in the morning, but I ate well today and swam 2050 yds this evening. Ye gods, but I love swimming!

06-28-2012, 05:31 PM
Hi Everyone,

I have been in the 260s for so long, it seems, several months. We went to a couple of weddings and parties so for a few weeks there I was just maintaining. But this morning the scale said 261.4, so I am almost out! Hopefully the 250s won't take too long. Although I was 255 two years ago, I haven't been below 255 for about 4 years, so I know when I see 254 I will be really really excited. The idea of being in the 240s seems almost too good to contemplate!

06-28-2012, 05:39 PM
My scale is on stall right now. But it is my fault I had a freaking chicken biscuit on Tues. and a slice of pizza on Wed. I stayed within my calorie total for the day but that was way too my carbs and sodium. I haven't gained but I have lost either.:(

P.S. Yes in the past I would have had 2-3 slices of pizza but who knew a slice of pepperoni pizza had so much sodium.

06-28-2012, 07:20 PM
I was glad to see 269 this morning. Hopefully, be back to 268 by Monday and then I can pretend this week never happened. ;)

06-29-2012, 11:01 AM
261.4 this morning. Not far from the 250's now. I can't wait to see them!!
Hopefully soon!

121.2kg means 267.2 which means I can call 267!

06-29-2012, 01:51 PM
257.2 this morning - progress is being made. :)

06-30-2012, 02:12 AM
Mondays weight was 250.8..so close...

06-30-2012, 09:38 AM
I'm stuck at 264.2. Two weeks ago "I gained 2.6 and on 6/24 I lost 2.6 so I am right back at 264.2. I want that number to go down down down!

06-30-2012, 10:03 AM
I'm totally back on plan today. I know that carbs are not my friend. If I show any loss on Monday it will surprise the heck out of me. Moving forward!

06-30-2012, 11:55 AM
On plan day yesterday and posted 255.2...progress!

06-30-2012, 12:03 PM
Now this is a group I am happy to join now (and hopefully we all leave soon)
I just got to 269 on Wed after being in the 270's for two months!
I am really working on less treats ( I usually have two treat days a week where sugar is OK in reasonable amounts Sat & Wed.) but I know it triggers my hunger for other things... so perhaps just one day a week till I am in the 250's.

06-30-2012, 05:32 PM
Me too! Hopefully will be in the lower 260s- high 250s by next week! Ah fingers crossed! Good luck everyone!

06-30-2012, 09:38 PM
I'm so happy I made it in this group. Weighed in at 269 today. Down 10 pds from 279 in 1st 9 days. I have a bio in 100+ if interested. I'm counting calories between 1200 min. 1700 max. I've lost weight before, but never to goal let alone maintain, I'd always starve my way down fasting up to 6-800 cal. then bomb out. I'm trying a healthier approach this time.:)

07-01-2012, 11:07 AM
Weighed in this morning at 262.4, which is a 1.8 lb. loss this week! :cheer: I am stoked, especially since I really didn't do anything to help my weight loss along this week at all. I am down 18 lbs. total and getting close to kicking the 260's to the curb goodbye!

07-01-2012, 12:25 PM
My scale may be teasing me but I was 259.2 this morning. I ate cake yesterday so I can't be to excited yet.. but I can only hope that I finally made it to the 250's. We shall see..

07-01-2012, 05:52 PM
Welcome everyone who has joined recently! Glad to have more group members.

I weighed in at 253.4 this morning!! YEEHAW, I haven't seen that number is years. Hoping the 250sbest are a thing of the past soon. :)

07-01-2012, 05:56 PM
It's terribly hot down here in Georgia today. Yesterday was a record setting high of 106 degrees for us. Today was also in the 100's. My family and I went swimming today and yesterday. The pool felt great in that icky nasty heat, and the exercise is an added bonus! :) I am really hoping to lose 3 lbs. this week so I can say goodbye to the 260's!

07-02-2012, 06:15 AM
HealthyMeWannaBe didn't you hear there is a cold front coming. We are only going to be in the 90s instead of the 100s. :)

07-02-2012, 06:49 AM
Wow! I wasnt expecting an active thread for anyone in my weight range! Over in the 20 somethings forum there arent usually any threads active over 180s...lol

I had lost 70 pounds a couple years ago. I was down to 180, my lowest adult weight ever. Then i started dating my bf and gained it all back plus some. I'm currently hovering around 262, and i have to get this weight off. Its killing me, literally.

I have 2 herniated disks in my spine, one in the lumbar region (lower back) and one in the cervical region (neck). I am in pain all the time. Everything hurts. I cant sleep more then 4 hours at a time because laying down hurts. I. Am. Miserable. I know losing weight isnt a cure for this, but i'm guessing that taking 100 ponunds off my frame will relieve a lot of the pressurevon my spine, and there will be less compression of the disks, which will lead to less pain.

I am currently trying to decide how i want to do this. I will probably follow the weight watchers program at home without paying. I've tried calorie counting and i just have trouble sticking to it.

On August 27th i'm moving out of my parents house and into my first apartment. It will be MUCH easier for me to control my food (currently my parents buy the groceries and eat tons of junk) and i will have a pool to exercise in (its the only thing that doesnt hurt my back....and it decompresses my spine)....but until then i will just try and eat less and play dance central on the kinect (if it doesnt hurt too much, just got it and havent tried yet) and hopefully that will help for now.

I am glad this thread seems active because weight loss is such a struggle for me. Moving just is physically painful for me, and it makes it so hard to stay motivated. I have almost given up, but i know i need this. I think my biggest motivation is that i'm going to be gone for a while and then when i come back home to visit i want to shock all my friends and family with how small i will look. It may be shallow motivation, but right now thats all i've got and i so i'm going to hold on to it. I'll do an official starting weigh in once the sun comes up. Right now its 5am and i just cant sleep. Lol

07-02-2012, 05:23 PM
Oh the dreaded heat, I am with y'all on that!
Rebelle thanks :) I usually have a veggie garden but never got around to it this year, what are you growing? You can buy the lumbar pillows on Amazon... though i boight special leg pillow and I ended up just using my regular one. I am with you on the daily pain (i have foot &ankle issues) Ibuprofen helps me through.
DivineFidelity-I am a 20 something as well and I do agree that weightloss will help to some degree (at least I hope so). Welcome!

07-02-2012, 05:33 PM
We just got some rain here in Tennessee.. Had a severe storm warning and lots of wind, but it was beautiful to see the rain. The temps didn't fall much though.

I was 257.6 this morning and brings me to almost 30 lbs lost. I'm finding it all easier this time. I think it's because I'm not focusing on how much I have to lose. I'm thinking about the next set of numbers.. gotta get to the 240's now. Not thinking beyond that helps me carry on.

07-02-2012, 06:19 PM
I'm happy to say that I weighed in at 266 this morning. Sadly, I think it may have had something to do with me getting food poisoning. Serves ME right for going out to eat. :P

07-02-2012, 06:35 PM
I was 257.6 this morning and brings me to almost 30 lbs lost. I'm finding it all easier this time. I think it's because I'm not focusing on how much I have to lose. I'm thinking about the next set of numbers.. gotta get to the 240's now. Not thinking beyond that helps me carry on.

Totally agree with you. I can do ten pounds over and over again. :carrot:

07-02-2012, 11:30 PM
ALEKS, sorry to hear about the food poisoning. That's no fun at all!

I am sticking with my plan and really hoping to see 3 lbs. gone this week. Exercise is always a struggle. I ended up doing the 30 Day Shred DVD tonight at 9:30PM. I am also irritable. Stupid TOM. But I haven't given in to my cravings for sweets. I did allow myself 1/2 a cup of lowfat frozen yogurt today (and calculated the calories too) and it was tasty!

I also started my new position at work today. I really like it so far! Tomorrow I should get my computer at work and then I'll be good to go! :)

07-03-2012, 12:02 AM
To Divine Fidelity: I joined the 260's thread this week also. Like you, I'm hoping that loosing over 100 pds will lessen the pain in my old knees and hips. I can only walk a short way with a walker. To tell the truth, I'm 61 and know that loosing the weight this old won't take away the wrinkles will probably add tons more, plus hanging skin. I'm not in it for the looks this time. This time the loss is to relieve pain. I will be FURIOUS if I loose a hundred pds and still cannot sleep or walk!!!
Yes my, overall health, blood pressure ect, will be better. But It's all about the painful sleepless nights for me. Hope to see you in the 50's soon.

07-03-2012, 01:13 PM
I got out of the 260s this morning! The scale said 259.6 and I checked it several times. :carrot: Thirty pounds and over 10% lost! I'm trying to really appreciate how happy I am right now, so that I can motivate myself in times of temptation or laziness, as I start counting down the 250s.

07-03-2012, 10:00 PM
Thanks Rebelle! :) I'm absolutely loving the new position so far!

07-04-2012, 01:55 PM
261.3 this morning. I feel like I've been stuck in the 260's forever and ever but soon they will be gone!

You guys are all doing great!

07-05-2012, 09:18 AM
Hi ladies - mind if I join you?

I'm at 264, dying to be out of the 260's and 250s. This is my highest weight. I'm putting the breaks on today. After a ton of research and some trial-and-error, I decided to do a low carb plan - sort of Atkins, with paleo/primal thrown into the mix. Natural foods, 20 carbs or less per day.

I realize that there are all types of plans being followed here, but if anyone is doing LC, any tips for getting over the first couple of days, which I understand are not so fun?

Thanks. And looking forward to checking in here.

Jes (Daisynyc)

07-05-2012, 02:53 PM
Congrats on staying on plan Rebelle! I ended up taking a couple of days off of Atkins Induction because my son had the stomach virus from the firey depths.. he is on day 4 and finally getting better. My mom was hospitalized yesterday for an intestinal blockage and may need surgery... life got too crazy and I just didn't have the energy or focus for my plan. Restarting within the next couple of days. I was 253 even this morning :D

07-05-2012, 08:13 PM
Hi folks. How did your 4th go? Mine was great, but terrible for my plan. I didn't go anywhere, but used the day as a much needed lazy day. I admittedly didn't get dressed or even get out of bed except for potty breaks and food. And my food choices were awful. I snacked instead of eating meals, consuming mostly handfuls of Life cereal and Cheddar Jack Cheez Its and drinking decaf sweet tea. Not a healthy day at all! But it's over and I'm back on plan. I think all the salt in the snacky foods is making me hold a little water because the scale read 265 this morning. Yuck.

07-06-2012, 01:08 PM
Hey Everyone and Hi Jes,
Yes.. low carb is part of my plan.. but not no carb. Sounds like the heat wave and holidays is getting to us all. I brought home much of the chocolate from my getaway but I did indulge in some pretty rich foods. I did try to keep the portions down and did get a good workout in at the hotel gym So.. we will see what happens at weigh in on Wed. Keep cool everyone. 36 degrees Celsius here today. wow.. hot!

07-06-2012, 04:52 PM
Hi Y'all!

feeling good right now. Yesterday I started a 100 day challenge from a book by the same name. Had a really good day. I'm counting backwards from 100 to 1 so I can feel what that is like. I so want to someday say I counted down 100 pds lost. But small steps 1st. Just staying in my calorie counts, exercise, water ect. daily goals for 100 days is a good way to start. This is my 1st day of week 3 since I started healthy plan. Tommorrow is weigh in day wish me luck!

Healthy me: OK, so the 4th is over and todays another fresh start day. Thank God for fresh starts.

Tiff: Sick children and parents are the pitts.:( Just keep coming back.

Jes: WELCOME! I've lost a lot of weigh on Atkins about 10 yrs ago and gained it all back. The main reason I lost at all was the atkins support board. But once I fell back into carbs I was too embarresed to come back. I 'm counting cal this time, carbs included , the only way I can do this at my age is with something I can stick withh all my life, I love pasta too much for Atkins. But if you like Atkins check around on this site for an Atkins thread also. And NO MATTER BAD DAYS keep coming back for support.

Unicorn: I LOVE YOUR NAME! Lead me the way to the 250's!

Grace: YEAH! 250's. Way to go! 30 pds down is suberb!

07-06-2012, 05:44 PM
Alright Rebelle, awesome results so far!! 5 pounds is 5the pounds, regardless :)I think thank you for the well wishes. My son is much better but my mom is still in the hospital.

I am still at 253, restarted Atkins today, going to do my best with staying on plan.. it is too easy for me to overeat simple carbs when I am unrestricted.
It is raining here, I LOVE RAIN! I hope everyone is enjoying their Friday.

07-06-2012, 07:58 PM
I was down .2 this morning...not much, really, but profoundly grateful not to have a huge bounce from fat and sodium-rich 4th of July foods! We'll see what the scale has to say tomorrow on my official weigh in for the week. :)

07-06-2012, 08:49 PM
I have been MIA for a while. Started weight watchers about 1 month ago and have lost 10 lbs so far and am back down to 255. Stressful week and have been eating too much of everything. Hoping tomorrow to get back on track. It is so good to be back!

07-07-2012, 10:06 AM
This week I seem to be maintaining my weight instead of losing. I was hoping that with TOM going away a few days ago that the scale would start moving. I haven't been extremely diligent about my food intake or my exercise though and I think that's what's holding me back. Time to step it up!

07-07-2012, 07:10 PM
:carrot: 3 Pds closer to the 50's. FRom 269 to 266 today !!!

07-08-2012, 10:01 AM
Gah! So flipping close! I lost 1.6 this week. Weighed in at 260.8. So close to the end of the 260's!!!!! Oh well, next week they're so gone! :cheer:

07-08-2012, 10:03 AM
I was 261 when I weighed this morning, down from 263 last week. Next week I will leave the 260's for good!

07-08-2012, 01:15 PM
Scale at 251 this morning...I think maybe I'll be leaving this thread next week. You all are active and encouraging; it's kind of a shame to leave that. :)

It looks like everyone is making good progress, so hurray for us! :D :grouphug:

07-08-2012, 06:49 PM
We'll just be following you into the 240's thread, calluna! :) Lead the way girl!

07-09-2012, 01:57 AM
Rebelle, my mom is still in the hospital but improving and may be sent home soon-thanks for asking :) I will never get used to the heat here either!
Congrats to everyone on your losses (I read everyone's posts but I am on my phone so it is hard to do many individual posts).
I weighed in at 251.8 this morning!!! It is my TOM so I am wondering what the scale will do these next couple of weeks.

07-09-2012, 08:38 PM
Lost 2.2 this week and am down to 252.8! Almost to the next thread. Looks like everyone is doing great! Keep up the good work ladies! So inspiring to hear success stories.

07-10-2012, 05:30 PM
I think I'm in hangout mode at 258-259 my scale keeps saying it over and over to me 258 259 258.4 I hope to get it together this week.

07-11-2012, 01:16 AM
I wonder what my scale will say in the morning? Had a little sodium bounce this morning, but calories and nutrition are pretty good. Workout today was 4.5 mile run (okay, jog...). Feel good! Weather was even good enough for a barbeque. :)

07-11-2012, 03:22 PM
Hey healthymewannabe ... love the photo!
I just did my weigh in and down 1.2 I'll take it! After my chocolate fest - I was sure I was up.. but I have done workouts almost every day since.. so I think that help bring the number down.
I did a mini workout with a trainer yesterday.. OMG am I SORE today.. they tell me it may get worse tomorrow. Here's to keeping going... and not having anymore chocolate fests...for a while at least :)

07-11-2012, 04:21 PM
Rebelle, thanks for the encouragement. 250.4 this morning, so here's hoping!

4 of those miles were using the Galloway method for running (intervals of running and walking that can be as short as 30s/30s). It keeps the heart rate down, reduces aches and pains and makes you a lot more comfortable, and allows you go to farther. :)

07-11-2012, 04:23 PM
Hi ladies! I'm new to this thread and am looking for some extra support. :) I'm 252 and needing to get out of the 250's! Hope to get to know you all!

07-12-2012, 08:55 AM
Welcome Angie!, and hello ladies. I weighed in this morning at 268.6 after teetering around 270 for 3 days. I hope I am here to stay. I have found a renewed focus in my weightloss, as I've been stuck in the 280 to 270 range for a little over a year.

07-12-2012, 05:05 PM
Thanks Canadian! Like you, I have a renewed focus in my weight loss too. For me, unhealthy is not an option anymore. Great job getting into the 260's! :)

07-14-2012, 12:01 PM
Hey folks. Boy has this week sucked for me. I've done terrible. I went back over my My Fitness Pal food intake and workouts and I've not been doing what I need to do. The scale's showing it. I weigh daily and it's up like 8 pounds since last Sunday. I know my official weigh in tomorrow will show a gain. Today's a damage control day, hoping to rein in the scale a bit tomorrow. I've eaten terribly. I've drank tea and sodas. I ate half a stupid pizza for dinner last night.

No more. Enough's enough already! I won't reach my goals by slipping up foer 5 days straight! :yikes:

Back on plan starting right now! :cheer:

07-14-2012, 04:05 PM
:carrot: Down 3 pds this week. :carrot:

Now at 263. Hope to hit 250's by august. I actually feel confident for the 1st time today. Staying on my program really well. I allow myself 1700 calories a day but when I added up my weeks calorie intake it came to an average of 1, 460 a day. Not bad, not bad at all.

07-14-2012, 05:38 PM
I think I'm moving in and should set up a cot or something. My finals will be over this week and I can get refocused and start back working out.

07-14-2012, 11:04 PM
I just want to widh everyone luck with their weight loss, I hope to see you all in the next thread because I hit 248 this morning!! I am so elated. :)
Enjoy your weekends. It was nice talking to all of y'all in this thread.

07-15-2012, 11:18 AM
:) Thanks rebelle, I will keep in touch. I haven't seen a thread for the 240's so I I am going to make one for getting out of the 230'shospital and 240's, it is nice to be able to keep coming to the same thread for a longer amount of time. I wish you the best, you can do it!

07-15-2012, 11:39 AM
Congrats Tiff!

07-15-2012, 12:46 PM
Rebelle, thank you! I made it yesterday and am celebrating! I'll see you all soon and waiting there with ! :D

07-15-2012, 01:01 PM
Congrats Tiff!

Thank you!! I hope to see you soon!

07-15-2012, 01:22 PM
Congrats Tiff I hope to be joining your thread soon.

07-15-2012, 10:12 PM
Hello All!!

Well I am starting over (again and hopefully for the last time!). I am currently 267.5 and hope that it will be the last time I see that number!! I cant wait to see a 24_ on the scale!! Lets do this!

07-16-2012, 01:17 AM
Congrats to the recent graduates of this thread! I'm looking forward to my graduation day too! LOL! I just got back from a mini-vacation for the weekend in Chicago so I definitely won't be weighing for a while lol. Let's have a great week ladies! :)

07-16-2012, 12:16 PM
Happy to report that as of this morning I'm at 255.6 I could almost have a party :carrot::carrot::carrot: that's only 1.4lbs to my next :dancer:

07-16-2012, 03:36 PM
I made it to the 260s today. Weighed in at 269.5 lbs today. Yay :)

Good luck to all of you.

07-17-2012, 12:52 PM
:Angie: Hope you had a nice mini-vacation! I'm sure now that you are back on track that little bit of water weight (if you have any) will be gone in a day or so.

I DEFINITELY had water weight lol! As a matter of fact it's not all gone yet. I can always tell because my legs will dent in when I press them. It usually takes me 3 to 4 days to get rid of it all. I think I'm going to be staying away from splurge days for a while! :D

07-17-2012, 02:15 PM
Hi and welcome Essa and LadyPetite! We're glad you could join us!

I did terrible last week but this week am back on track and working to get the 5 pounds I gained last week off. It's amazing now one week of doing terrible can set me back. Perseverance will get me to kmy goals, not excuses! :cheer:

07-17-2012, 02:45 PM
since starting my job, my weight loss has become incremental weight gains. I'll turn it around. surely i will.

07-17-2012, 07:12 PM
JMfan, you are two seconds away from leaving this thread and down to the 240's! I know you will kick it in gear and turn it around! By the way, I'm in Metro Detroit too! :)

07-18-2012, 11:54 AM
UUGGG.. I may have kicked my self up to the 270's!!!
yes.. one bad week.. or even a few days of feeling sorry for myself and over eating after being robbed on friday (yes..the 13th) Break and enter to our apt. actually more of just enter (the door had been left open by mistake.. teenagers!) Well., we will see - today after a workout I had a healthy breakfast and have planned the rest of the food for the day. We will see at weigh in.

OMG! I am so sorry to hear that!! And what a crazy thing that it happened on Friday the 13th! Well I'd say you recovered pretty quickly. You are back to exercising and eating healthy so KUDOS for that! :)

07-18-2012, 04:07 PM
Hi, I'm new to this thread - just recently made it out of the 260s and saw 257 this morning! I am really excited to reach the 240s because I haven't been there for years. I've made several weight loss attempts over the past four years and none got me below 255, but this time I can tell it's going to be different!

I may be in this thread for a while, though, I'm losing weight pretty slowly compared to some of you. It took me about three months to get out of the 260s. But I'm okay with this!

07-19-2012, 05:49 PM
Welcome graceandbalance! :cheer: I hope to join you in the 250's soon!

07-21-2012, 11:52 PM
Thanks rebelle, things are going great as far as my health and fitness. I'm still moving along. I'm doing Insanity and it's killing me LOL! Six days a week is tough to keep up with, but I do feel my strength and endurance changing for the better. TOM is actually on the way for me and it really affects my energy so hopefully I can keep it going! :)

Doing great on eating, water, and exercise. How is everyone? :)

07-22-2012, 11:15 AM
Down 3.4 pounds this week. Yay! I REALLY hope to kick the 260's to the curb next week! :cheer:

07-22-2012, 03:19 PM
:)Happy to see another pd go but:(wanted it to be more after 3 pd loss 2 wks in row. This weeks, calories-exercise water the same as last couple weeks. OH well, might take longer to get to 50's than I thought.

Angie: Great Going on your health and fitness, like the attitude, need to adopt some of yours.

Georgia: Yeah!! :carrot: 3.4 pds down! paint me green and show me the way.

Tif:  Congrats !! can't wait to see you there.

Essa: Welcome! I restarted at 279 a month ago today, am down 17 pds. to 262 today. We can do this together.

Meka: Way to GO!! So happy for you.

Lady Petite: Welcome to the 260's:)

07-22-2012, 08:52 PM
HealthyMe - Congrats on the 3.4 pounds! That is totally awesome!

healthyginger - 17 pounds in a month is friggin-tabulous!! How did you do that? I need your secrets please! lol! It takes me 2 months to get results like that.

Today was a rest day for me BUT I spent it on my feet cooking in the kitchen for half the day (bleh). At least meals are done for the week. On to a new week! :)

07-22-2012, 10:38 PM
Joining this thread after a long long absence. Am hoping to stay on track this week and get out of the 250's. YAY!!

07-23-2012, 10:02 AM
:dancer::dancer::dancer: Dancing all over the place I'm down 51lbs at 253lbs. If I'm super extra on plan I might make it to the 240s by next Monday but it would have to be a 3+ pound loss.:dizzy:

07-23-2012, 10:15 AM
That's awesome Meka!!!!! :cheer: I am so proud of you!!!!!! I'm hoping for a 3 lb. loss this week too so I can be done with the 260's. We can do it!!!!!

07-24-2012, 12:12 PM
Congrat's to all the awsome losers and congrat's to those of us sticking with it.. even if we are wobbly!

Stressors can really throw of the wagon.. so writing about it here helps. Every small good choice really does add up in the long run. I may not have lost weight this week at weigh in (will know on Wed) but I still have made so many better choices now.. than before. From the basics like getting healthy groceries.. so when I am hungry for snacks their are good options.. to sharing that free piece of cake with friends rather than eating it all myself.

Keep cool everyone.. I am planning a trip to VEGAS and just checked the temp there today 39C Wow.. that is over 100 F.

07-24-2012, 12:52 PM
Gah. TOM started today. I REFUSE to let it hold me back though! I'll just have to exercise harder to make sure I have a loss this week! It's doable. :)

07-24-2012, 01:13 PM
Joining this thread after a long long absence. Am hoping to stay on track this week and get out of the 250's. YAY!!

Welcome back Charliee! Look how close you are at getting out of the 250's already! I'll be waiting for your celebration because it's right around the corner! :)

Dancing all over the place I'm down 51lbs at 253lbs. If I'm super extra on plan I might make it to the 240s by next Monday but it would have to be a 3+ pound loss

Meka that is awesome!! Great job! You'll be out of here soon too!

I'm still moving along myself. I have no idea how much I weigh right now because I've put the scale away until Day 100! In the past, I've been a very bad scale obsessor, so I'm trying something new. Hopefully I'll be down a category (or two lol) by then! :)

07-25-2012, 12:21 PM
I took a peek at the scale this morning and it said 260.6, which is the smallest number I've seen all month!!!!! I am knocking on the door of the 250's!!!!!! :cheer:

07-26-2012, 06:30 AM
This morning's daily weigh in....was 259.6!!!!! :cheer: As long as that number holds through my official weigh in on Sunday I can officially say good-bye to the 260's! That made my morning!

07-26-2012, 07:14 AM
Been hovering around 255-260 so I'm hoping to break through soon and get to my second goal :)

07-26-2012, 12:52 PM
260.4 this morning. Getting closer and closer. Official weigh in is Sunday but I'm posting this cause it's the best number I've seen in a long time!

07-26-2012, 08:37 PM
Everyone's doing so good!! Keep it up ladies! :)

My pants are fitting a bit loser and today my 6 year old said: "Mommy, it looks like you losed weight." LOL! She got tongue twisted before she settled on the word "losed". It was the cutest thing!

07-26-2012, 09:22 PM
That's great angie! :D

I swam for an hour and 35 minutes after work. It was great to cool off in the pool as it was 97 degrees outside today. The water felt wonderful!

07-28-2012, 10:37 AM
It's Saturday. Tomorrow's my official weigh in. The scale's still holding under 260 so I look forward to posting the official number tomorrow! :D It's about darn time too!

07-28-2012, 06:14 PM
Unicorn we are both so close to the 50's we can taste it aren't we? I'm down about 2 pds to 160.6 today. Oh how I wanted to see the 50's- ah! well! Next week see you there.

It really has been quiet in here lately! Hope everyone's doing all right! :)

Happy Friday folks!

08-03-2012, 11:31 AM
I've been stuck at the 253.somethings for a few weeks now. I'm going to do a full, head on charge on it starting Monday!!

08-03-2012, 01:49 PM
New here! Thanks for the invitation, Misti in Seattle!! I was at the doctor the other day and I am now in the 250s!! I am so excited!! Getting ready to go work out. Just had to check the forum before leaving. (It is so easy to lose track of time in here!!)

08-03-2012, 06:23 PM
I just hit 263 on July 20th! I'm excited to get home (been out visiting family) and see if I've dropped down into the 250's since I've been gone! I've been working hard and eating right - so I really hope I'm rewarded!!!

I'm still around too and have been doing well with eating and exercising. I did some early back-to-school shopping today. This year is FLYING BY!!

08-03-2012, 10:01 PM
I'm still here as well just finished up summer semester at school and work has been crazy as well. Still inching along I saw 249.8 on the scale this morning let's see if it sticks around for weigh-in on Monday.

Ahhhh there you all are!

Welcome, beahawkins. So glad you decided to join us.

Looks as if several of you are about to "graduate" to the 240 thread! Way to go.

08-04-2012, 09:53 AM
Wow Meka! That's fantastic! :cheer: You're knocking on the door of the 240's girl!

tomorrow's my official weigh in day. We'll see how the scale treats me this week.

Yay for you, Meka!!! You're almost outa here!!! :cheer2:

08-04-2012, 09:14 PM
Way to go Meka!:dance::dance::dance: I made it into the 50's :) I lost 3 pds this week down to 257. That's now a 22 pd loss and I finally "feel" it. I think my 6 yr old grandson staying with me this week ran the extra pds off me.LOL! He's home tommorrow- will miss him , but need a really long rest myself now,

LOL Ginger... congrats on making it to the 50s! I can't wait to get there myself.

And you had best keep that grandson around for a while, ha ha

08-05-2012, 12:26 AM
Thanks ladies. Hope I didn't mess it up with food choices this weekend. Got in a 3 mile walk today. Super tired for some reason so I'm off to bed.

08-05-2012, 10:31 AM
I made some bad food choices too but the scale still showed a 0.2 lbs. loss for me. I won't complain.

Yesterday we went horseback riding at a place called Roosevelt Stables in Pine Mountain, GA (near Callaway Gardens). We had a blast! The owners were super nice people and we all had lots of fun! I haven't been riding since I was in college. This was my husband's and my daughter's first trail ride (and my husband's first time ever on a horse). Here's a couple of pics for y'all to see. :) We can't wait to go back!

I haven't been to Calloway Gardens in forever. Sounds like a weekend getaway is in order. Y'all look like you had a great time.

Yay down two again this morning. I am "flying" through the 260s. It won't be long until I am "running downhill" on this thread!!!

08-05-2012, 12:58 PM
HealthyMeWannaBe - AWESOME PICS!! I've never been horseback riding and always wanted to go! You all look so excited, thanks for sharing! :)

08-06-2012, 06:28 AM
Thanks! :) We had so much fun!

Yesterday sucked badly for me. I didn't do anything on plan at all. I ate way too much. I didn't drink water. And I didn't work out. Blah. It happens. Back on track today! I have my lunch already packed and in the fridge. I'm going to go get my gym bag ready so I can work out during my lunch break. I've got 0.4 miles to try to run today! :running: No sense beating myself up over the poor eating choices yesterday. The scale is reflecting my poor choices too. Too much salt and sugar...not good for the number! :yikes: I'll fix that before the next weigh in though! :)

I hope everyone has a great on-plan day!

08-06-2012, 11:38 AM
Congrats on the losses ladies. HealthyMeWannabe I know you'll work through those food choices as I have to as well. Today I am excited to say that I weighed in at 248.8 for a loss of 2.4lbs. I am sad to be leaving you ladies but I know I will see you all in 240s thread soon.

08-06-2012, 02:23 PM

Way to go Meka!

08-07-2012, 10:57 AM
This week I am aiming to lose 2.6 lbs. If I achieve that, I will have lost 25 lbs. That is a big mini goal to me. It puts me at 1/4 of the way to 100 pounds gone. This week I want to ramp up my exercise and make sure I eat right. I want to do everything I can to reach that goal! :cheer: I know I will get there but I need to keep myself accountable for what I do and don't to to reach my goals.

08-07-2012, 03:46 PM
Went to the doctor this morning. Weighed in at 256.6 About 8 pounds from my starting day a little more than 2 weeks ago! So excited!!

08-08-2012, 12:50 AM
I am 25 years old and have been diagnosed with high blood pressure. I currently weigh about 258 pounds at about 6 feet tall. I need to loose about 80 pounds in order to be at a weight I will feel happy with. I have to loose weight to get off this blood pressure medicine and live a healthy life. I have lost a little, so I am on the right track.

:congrat: for (approx.) every 5 pounds lost: :congrat: :congrat:

08-08-2012, 06:42 AM
Good job Bea! :D

Welcome savages! I'm hoping that losing weight will lower my blood pressure too. We can do it!

Yesterday I ran 0.43 miles. WOW! Today I'm aiming for 0.45. I can definitely do it. I know I can. And at some point I'll be able to run it without holding on to the treadmill by the end! I'll get there.

08-08-2012, 01:07 PM
Welcome Savages! You WILL get to your goals. There is so much support here and we will root you along every step of the way! :)

HealthyMeWannaBe - that is awesome!! I'm actually going to start a jogging regime on the treadmill on Monday so I'm looking forward to reaching some milestones like you! Great job!

08-08-2012, 03:52 PM
This is most definitely most supportive place I have seen in a really long time!!!

: ) I've always been told not to weigh in more than once a week, but I was at the gym and the scale was there and I was curious.. down another 2 pounds!! This is so amazing! Ah.

So that means I've hit my first mini-goal!!

08-09-2012, 02:42 AM
Thank you all. I am glad to meet people that cheer me on and who are getting healthy like I am and understand. It is good to have support. Keep exercising everyone! Exercise does wonders! It can relieve stress, help you sleep better, keep you in a good mood, help you loose weight, help your blood pressure and even save you life! Be strong, you all are!

:congrat: for (approx.) every 5 pounds lost: :congrat: :congrat:

08-09-2012, 06:41 AM
Hooray bea! :cheer: Congrats on reaching your first mini goal!

08-09-2012, 06:44 PM
Healthy: Thanks, curiosity hit again today and I was up 2 pounds. I am keeping the 254 as my number cause if I hit it once, then is should stick in the next few days. But from now on my only checking once a week.

08-09-2012, 10:18 PM
I'm a daily scale watcher. For me I find that it helps me stay accountable each day. I know if I have a food binge the night before I'll see it on the scale the next day so it helps me stay honest. :)

Today I ran 0.5 miles! :running: I can't believe I ran a half a mile!!!!! :cheer: That's the best NSV ever!

Also, today I found that I had to tighten my bra. It is hooked into the first eye now instead of the second and there's nowhere to go now but to a smaller bra size! I may soon be trading in my 46DDD's for 44DDD's! Sorry for the TMI but it made me feel good. :)

08-09-2012, 10:28 PM
I would be a daily scale watcher, except I don't know if I could handle the disappointment of fluctuation. Although, today I did extra time on weights and an burnt an extra 300 calories.. (I'm taking a break this weekend, thought I should make it up somehow) That is probably the last time I will do that much extra.. My right foot started feeling numb. Probably not a good sign.

Good job on the .5 miles!!! and new bras/underlings are the best!

08-10-2012, 05:26 PM
I probably will be a daily scale watcher for a period of time when I'm in maintenance just to make sure I'm not regaining the weight back. While I'm losing weight, those fluctuations annoy the crap out of me LOL, so I choose not to weigh. I can obsess VERY easily. :)

08-10-2012, 05:50 PM
I have been stuck in the 250s and 260s for a very long time also it keeps going up and down up and down up and down and I'm tired of it. I'll join this! I want to get out of the 250s and out of the 200s all together very soon!

Currently I'm at 259.5 I plan to do some watermelon fasting and maybe even some water fasting I need this weight off fast. Fruit only until my other fruit is gone with watermelon for breakfast. Also I plan to do some walking outside for about 2-3 miles and visit the gym about 3 days a week for some workouts as well. And to make sure to drink my gallon of water a day.

08-11-2012, 11:44 AM
Welcome! You can do it!

08-11-2012, 06:01 PM
HI Everyone !

:) Lost 3 pds , again! this week. I'm now down 25 pds to 254. :)

No way I could weigh daily. I need to see that lost each week and I have. Your right Savage I've started a 'real" exercise program that's 2 DVD's for folks in a chair. I can't stand but a minute or two. It's kicking my butt so it must be good.

08-11-2012, 06:18 PM
Wow! Nice loss healthyginger! :cheer: Well done!

08-11-2012, 10:09 PM
Great job healthyginger and all that are losing those pounds!!

08-12-2012, 09:32 AM
This week the scale wasn't kind and showed a 1 lb. gain. Back up to 259 for me. The only thing I can attribute the gain to is muscle. I've exercised 5 days this week. Four days I ran and biked. The other I took a 2 hour hike. My clothes are fitting better and two co-workers told me they could tell I am losing weight. The scale's just being fickle this week. It'll cooperate soon, I am sure. In the meantime I am sticking with my plan and continuing to do what I need to do. :) I'm not disappointed in myself this week at all. I am disappointed that the scale's not reflecting this week's hard work. Oh well. It happens.

08-12-2012, 11:09 PM
HealthybeW I'm sure your right about muscle. I'm proud of your hard week. More than I dream of doing.

08-13-2012, 12:03 AM
Sounds hard, but you can do it. Water weight, muscle weight and even b.m. weight can concern or confuse us. It is all about some patience and time, time, time. It will show up, just keep at it, you are getting healthier regardless (due to exercise and better eating habits)!

08-14-2012, 11:11 PM

Hi all

Finally I got a 260 this morning! I've been "stuck" for a bit over a week but I have stayed on track so think it is water retention from the unusual heat here. Last weekend I was out of town at an arts festival but I ate healthful foods and spent a lot of time at my favorite health foods store learning a lot of new info; came home with some new nutritional items to add to my regimen. Started coconut oil and hemp seeds... plus bought some yummy manioc root bread.

It's early this morning so I am still hoping for a 259 a bit later! I really want to see a "5" in the middle number and also be on the downhill side of this thread!

Hope everyone has a super day and sees that weight roll right on off!

08-18-2012, 02:23 PM
Two pds closer to the 40's. Down to 252. I'm happy yet I admit I was greedy I wanted 3 like the last two weeks. I'm hoping that means I'll get 3 next week to get to the 40's. Greedy still. I know, It'll come in God's time. I really should celebrate I had the lowest calorie count yet this week. But due to pulled back muscle not as much exercise as usual. AH! Well!

Well done Ginger and Misti! :cheer:

I have done terrible this week. I haven't eaten properly. I haven't exercised because I messed up my ankle a couple of weeks ago. And yet the scale was kind to me and put me at 257 this morning. That's very unexpected but I'll take it.

I'm hoping to begin walking again this week. I know I can't run again yet but I should at least be able to start walking again.

Have you tried mixing up your daily calories or maybe your exercise routine? I hear a lot of people say that changing it up can really help break a plateau. Maybe have a higher calorie day then drop them down the next day. Or do a different exercise all-together for a couple days. Plateaus suck and I hope you break it soon! :)

Well back from Vegas (did not journal food or email post here) but luckily with the heat and walking the strip.. stayed the same. Time to get back at it.. so yes, off the rails a touch but back at the gym twice this week.
Cheers to all the new joiners.. lets hope none of us are here too long!

Me! I've been battling with the 250's for a month now! Finally seems like I'm getting out of them.. finally down to 250!

08-24-2012, 11:37 AM
Can I come in? I'm at 262.8 as of this morning. The doctor has recommended I weigh myself each morning. A little strange since I've always been told the way to go is a once a week weigh in. Anyway, I find focusing on ten lbs at a time is most manageable for me so I'm looking forward to the 250's and will probably hang around here for the next month or so.

08-24-2012, 11:40 AM
d0lcevita, hope to give you an amazing virtual going away party next week. Congrats on achieving 250!

08-24-2012, 11:59 AM
I'm going to jump in here, too. I am at 256.4 this morning. I have been trying to get to 250 seems like forever.

08-24-2012, 05:34 PM
Well!!! I am at 250.5 today! So very very excited!!! It felt like I wasn't getting anywhere. The scale I was using was fluctuating so much that in less than a minute it would go from 247 to 259 to 253. So yesterday at the doctor I weighed in at 251 and got on the wii fit directly after and confirmed the same and today it was less! This is the first time I have EVER been able to lose weight. I am so happy. yay.

256.8 this morning.

I have been off plan for ages... must be 3 months or so? I was 252-253 before I stopped paying attention, so I'm glad I only regained 4 lbs. I was so sure it would be more.

I must try again and be more mindful of what I'm eating. I've not been eating well or exercising much (hardly at all) this summer. The heat bothers me a lot and I never feel like moving much in the summer, but that's not a very good excuse. Anyway, fall is coming and I am feeling confident that I Can Do This.

08-26-2012, 05:04 PM
well I got down to 249 again then in the past week I have been going nuts eating bad foods and am up to 258 or so again.... why do I do this? Everytime too I battle 10 lbs then soon as I see it on the scale I think I can lighten up and end up packing them back on again. I have a very big problem with staying consistent and that is what is killing me on my diet anyone have any tips for this that has worked for them. Maybe I should just not watch the scale anymore I'm thinking and just make sure I am always eating right and exercising.

Good luck everybody on your plans.

going2bskinny - staying away from the scale has been a HUGE factor as to why I've been able to be more consistent this time around. The time seems to go by faster too when I'm not watching the scale lol. It has made me focus less on numbers and on just eating healthy and exercising period; not for the sake of seeing what the scale will say the next morning, but because this is the type of lifestyle I should be leading on a daily basis for my health. If numbers affect you in ways that are not ideal, I would highly suggest tucking the scale away for a while. It really has helped me. :)

08-27-2012, 02:35 PM
Losing weight is a struggle on its own. We all have our own daily and personal challenges. Don't be too hard on yourself. Losing weight takes a while. Consider taking a break doing something healthy that promotes weight loss.

Thanks Angie I will do that. There was some times during my weight loss I wasn't really watching the scale also and I had that same feeling like the time went a lot faster and it was easier to stick to cuz I wasn't obsessing about it all the time. Thanks for your reply :D:hug:

Hello all...I am rather new here. I signed up at the beginning of the month but was thrown off track a bit by a family tragedy...then after that I had a professional tragedy. But I did rather well threw it all. I still weigh less then I did when I started so all is good on that end.

My family and I joined a gym at the end of July and now I have plenty of time to work out for a little bit. I really forgot how much I really loved to work out!

Anyway I am stopping by to say I'm here! :D Hopefully I will be thread hopping to the next milestone very soon...if I can keep these work outs and the emotional eating in check anyway...So far so good on both of those though..

Have a great day EVERYONE!

Thanks for the welcome, guys! I was down 2 lbs today, which was really exciting. My diet today was dreadful, so I'm not expecting a loss tomorrow. I'm currently focusing on not throwing the whole thing away because of one lunch slip up. Exercise today was also a no since I worked so hard yesterday that I'm too sore to walk. I'm planning on catching up tomorrow. I've been doing P90X, and Plyometrics was a little rough. I don't think there will be any issue with skipping a day, though. Better to rest than injure myself.

Anyway, I look forward to checking in tomorrow and seeing all of your progress!

I stayed on plan all day. I got really emotional, and I didn't feed those feelings with anything more than water and a drive. I've done half of my scheduled exercise for today snd some yard work. I plan on finishing the other half this evening before bed. I had a one lb gain today, but I expect it will be gone tomorrow, hopefully with a little extra.

I've found fitocracy to be very helpful in motivating me to exercise. Tomorrow I should reach level 8. I'm hoping that this week I'll lose my mental block and drop down to 259, which has been the lb I can't seem to stop myself from sabotaging. Anyway, that is ask for today.

Sorry for any spelling issues. Posting from my phone.

My weigh in day is Monday...I am a little nervous due to some bad eating that has been sneaking in on me. I started new today though back on track. I went to water aerobics 4 of the 5 days that I had as my goal. I had a massive headache yesterday so I didn't go.

Tomorrow will be a little hard on the eating. We are going to a huge craft fair with food vendors. HOpefully I can find something not loaded with fat and sugar. We shall see.

OH on a side note even though my eating was a bit off. Not as I would like it I did make better choices when I did start to foul up. Like my husband wanted to go to Wendy's for lunch. We rarely go to fast food anymore. I went to get a bacon cheeseburger but instead opted for their small grilled chicken wrap. No fries.... It was pretty good too. I didn't feel overly full and icky afterwards. So that is a positive.

42goingon20: Nice progress! That's a quick loss! Do you think you'll lose at that rate for a while?

onmiwei: Hope your weigh in is what you're hoping for, and good for you for making better choices. I've always been something of a "throw the baby out with the bathwater" type when it comes to diet slip-ups.

I weighed in today. Down 1.4 pounds, putting me at 24.8 pounds lost so far. I am so close to that 25 lb. mark! I'll get there next week though! :)

Only down one pound this week..but hey..one pound down is better than one up. Especially with not doing everything I had planned.

Onto a better week this week. Already went to water aerobics and then spent another 1/2 hour in the water doing other exercises. Water aerobics planned for every morning. Also plan on going in a little earlier to go about half hour on the treadmill a few times this week.

This coming weekend I have a large craft fair coming up. So I can't go to the gym this weekend.

Onmiwei, one pound is great! That's solid, healthy weightloss right there.

Down to 266 and it seems like just yesterday I was posting in the 270 forums. It practically was! Man, I love progress.

Iknow it's silly, but feeling a little blue. I so wanted to get out of these 50's. I weighed in very early Sat. morning ( 5 hrs earlier than usual and I'm officailly still at 251. Yes , I did loose 3/5ths of a pd from last week- but I only record full numbers-full pds lost. my DH and I have been babysitting our 5mo. and 18mo. old grandsons at thier home as thier Dad (who works nights usually to trade off with our DD's daytime job) was called up for National Guard duty to south La. for the hurricane. We don't know when he'll be back. I adore caring for these babies, but can barely walk- the storm has my joints screaming at me and we onlt get about 5-6 hrs a night to sleep beacuse it's a 45 min drive there. So I'm very proud I was able to stay on my calorie count- mostly my water. but exercise has been totally out the door. With at least another week of this schedual I don't know that I'll be down on Sat either. OK, Ginger, Accept-accept.
