Joyce - you go girl.
Had w/i last night & was up .2# which I can attribute to snacks at party & dance then Chinese on Sunday night. But I got in 11 miles of walking last week & I think that helped me not be up too much. Goal this week is to stay OP, get in water & beat my 11 miles doing my tape.
How about everyone elses goal for this week??

Well! you gotta be careful what you promise yourself!
When I arrived at the dental office yesterday, I was less committed to parking at a distance from the door. Wouldn't you know! the only available space was the furthest from the office! I had to laugh out loud! (wasn't really that far, just the idea of what I had vowed yesterday morning)

Hi JOYce! WTG on resolving to walk more! That is an amazing coincidence about the last parking place being the farthest, sort of like fate is helping you out with your resolution! You are doing so well on program, you're an inspiration.
Bandit, sounds like all that walking is really paying off! Re: goals, my goal is to make my March weigh-in this Saturday, within my lifer limit. Just got back tonight from two days out of town, so have no idea what the scale will say tomorrow; we were pretty good food-wise (Subway, mostly, and baked fish at that Riverwalk restaurant) but didn't make the time for walking. So my goal is to get up early every day and walk 3 miles, and to stay OP. (Thursday, I may have to walk in the afternoon as I'm getting up super early to go out of town yet again. sigh.)
The wildflowers are gorgeous down here right now! Wish I had more time to spend outdoors.
Hope everyone is having a great week! Anyone heard from Carol or Texaslady lately? I know Texaslady is taking a little hiatus as she copes with the loss of her mother. I don't know what's happened to Carol, though; will have to see if I can find her phone number again.

MORE FATE!! I needed to accompany dh to the hospital today for a routine test. and wouldn't you know! there were no parking places in the main lot, so had to go across the street to an adjacent lot, and the only place was the very furthest away!
and of course when testing was done, I had to quickly get the car as the volunteer waited with dh at the entrance, so got a little speed walk in there too! BTW, dh got a clean bill of health!:D
JAN, I've ben noticing our pretty flowers too. a new sectionof the 210 fwy opened recently and the banks are covered with beautiful purple lupine and some lower growing purple flowers and orange poppies. GORGEOUS!
re: goals, guess I will just claim the walking this week. While it is not measurable by miles, it is a good start for me.
Haven't heard from Carol or texaslady, I miss them both! :(
It has been a quiet weekend around here....if you gals are lurking , check in and say hi!

Morning Ladies!
Well, I was up .2 on Monday......that wasn't too bad but still not what I expected. Will have to do better this week.
JanetMae - yep I have seen the commercial. That is Michael Waltrip and his family, he drives the Napa Chevy. He is about 7' tall and a clown. He's a big kid....so funny:lol:
It's nice here warm and may rain tonight, I know if I can just get motivated to exercise I will see results quicker, just can't seem to get my rump up and out the door.
Hope everyone has a good week... gotta get back to work:twirly:

Hello all,
I'm back and I found you again! YES!! :D
I was on vacation in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, TN area (yes-fun shopping!). I weighed before leaving town, and I weigh tomorrow-I walked tons/drank lots of water (I'm addicted to it), but I ate way, way too much (story of my life)....I'm afraid-very afraid about the scale, but it is what it is!
I hope all of you are having a wonderful week!
It's good to be back: I need this site to help motivate me to keep shrinking in 2003!! :D

Hi y'all...
I had my second weigh-in last night...4.5 pounds lost. That makes a two week total of 8.5. I also got my bookmark. I know that the weight won't keep dropping at this rate, and of course even if it did that wouldn't be healthy or the correct way to do it, but I was pleased. I am so glad to be going back to the meetings. Everyone in our group is so supportive and encouraging and our teacher is so cute. She is just bubbling over with enthusiasm.
One area I do need to improve in is my exercise. I love to walk and I love water aerobics, but the water aerobics isn't going to happen any time soon because of time constraints. However, Bandit is really motivating me to want to start walking again...in addition to seeing how much it has helped Jan. It's just so hard to find the time, but I know it's something I am going to have to do. Tonight is the night we teach our children's choir class of 15-20 three year olds...so I should be getting plenty of exercise tonight.
I also hoped to get a lot of yard work done this weekend but I think it is supposed to rain. The weather here has been gorgeous and I mowed for the first time Monday night. That was a bittersweet moment...there is something cathartic about mowing for the first time each spring and the fresh mowed grass smells so good, but it also makes me think about the 100 degree days that I will be out there working. I am going to really miss DD's boyfriend this summer. ;)
JOYce, I am thrilled that your dgd is back home safe and sound. I am also glad that it worked out where she was able to spend some time with her husband. My heart ached for her thinking that she would miss seeing him by only a couple of hours. I'm glad everything worked out and I will keep him in my prayers. Where is Linda?
Jan, I have Carol's phone number and have been meaning to call her. I got an email from her this week, but she was just forwarding something and didn't say anything. I'll give you the number if you can't find it.
I better get back to work. Everyone have a great day!!
Later gators!

Kudzu, AWESOME on the weight loss!! WOW-I have only ever lost 2 pounds in one week-ever--good for you! :D
Bandit2- What's "OP"? just wondering....I've seen that before on here.
I weighed today and even with a 6 day vacation and not-so-perfect eating habits, I managed to not gain anything and it's teetering on a loss (I don't have an electric scale) so I am HAPPY!
Have a great weekend, all of you! :D

KUDZU good going on your weight loss and yardwork/exercise! How is DD doing?
Can't say about Linda, guess she is laying low.
hottie OP means 'On Program'....which I wish I would stay!!
I'm leaving in the morning for the weekend, to see Mother, so guess I better go get some things done.

Hi everybody! Sorry to be AWOL; this has been SUCH a crazy week! Sun. night in SA, Mon working in SA, Mon nite to Houston, Tue working in Houston, home that night, worked all day Wed and was up working until 2 a.m., drove to SA and worked all day today, had a historical society mtg tonight at Dad's house that went ON and ON ... whew. I am beat! TG it's almost Friday! Have done OK with eating this week, but haven't walked as much as I'd like. Will get in more walking tomorrow!
JOYce, hope you have a good trip to see your mother this weekend! You are so sweet to drive all that way, so often, to be with her. I know she must really appreciate it! And WTG on all the walking! So glad to hear dh got a good report from his doctor!
Nascar Girl, I just knew that you would know the story behind that cute commercial! You're right about the exercise, it really does speed things up; but I know what you mean, getting started is the hardest part!
Hiya Hottie! Glad you're back from vacation, and esp. glad you found us again! ;) Have always wanted to see more of Tennessee; sounds like you had a good time shopping! WTG on the walking and water! And congrats on maintaining during vacation, that's not easy to do!
Hey Bandit, hope you're having a great week too!
Janet, I am in awe, 4.5 pounds in one week! You're amazing! Glad to hear you have a good leader, too; that really helps. I'm so glad you heard from Carol, even a forward, at least that means she's ok! I will try to call her this weekend. Had to laugh about your mowing the lawn story ... only us "suthin' gals" can relate to the dreaded summerlong heat wave, and think about it in March already!
Hope everyone has a great Friday tomorrow. I'm off to get some much-needed zzzzzss..

Hi JAN! Welcome back! You make me tired, just reading your schedule!
I really have to be careful what I vow! parking places near my destinations have totally disappeared! But I am doing the walking!
I talked to mother tonight to let her know I am coming, turns out my sister will be there teaching a craft to the ladies at the facility where she lives, in the afternoon, so I will be able to help with that! should be loads of fun! mother will be in hog-heaven with both of us there at the same time!
Also talked to dgd, her dh left yesterday for the East somewhere. he was unable to let us know where his destination is. She misses him already, they did have a whole 4 days together after she returned, before he had to leave. Of course they knew this was a possibility when they got married, both being military.
:(
gotta scoot.
sweet dreams all!

Morning ladies!TGIF!!! Well I got some exercise yesterday! I had to go to Rockmart (75 miles away) and inspect 2 sets of apartments so we did lots of walking, stair climbing etc. I was pooped when I finally got home! So that's a start!
Janet - congrads on the loss you go girl!!!:cp:
Well, we will be heading out next Thursday for a Race Trip! We will be camping at Talledega, AL and go to all the events that weekend starting on Friday so I will get lots of walking and exercise our seats are at the top so I will have to climb 32 flights of stairs each time plus if I go potty! So maybe that will compensate for someof the wine I'll consume that weekend:devil:
Gonna try and get my pedometer to work, can't find my instruction book and the batteries are dead. It's a Balli brand so if anyone has one let me know how to reset it up!
Everyone have a great weekend! I'm going to get the hair cut and highlights today so will leave work early, I have a wedding on 12th, my brother - in-law is getting married so this is the onlytime to get the hair done! Maybe she can make me irrestible!

Hi JOYce! How lovely that it all worked out so well, with your sister there too; your mom will be so happy! And I'm sure your sister will be delighted to have such an expert craftswoman there to help her! Way to go on all that walking ... that is such an amazing coincidence about those parking spots!
Nascar Girl, wow, 32 flights of stairs ... that will certainly earn lots of APs for ya! (activity points). Hope you can get that pedometer to work. I got one last year, and never could get it to work just right, but it was a really cheap one. I hope somebody will have the Balli directions for you!
Gotta run. We just had a huge power outage here at school, and I had to go help the tech staff shutdown servers, etc., and am now behind on my "stuff" for the next class. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Regards,
Jan

Hi everyone:
Kudzu - Great loss!! Keep up the good work.
With my tape I can walk 1 mile in 15 min. Try to get your exercise done in the morning, then if you don't you still have the rest of the day to do it.
Hottie - Nice to stay on track with vacation, good for you.
Janetmae - My week has been busy. Have been helping BF office at night - this is extra busy season. Been getting my exercise in but eating at high end of points. Have to be careful this weekend - really want to see a loss on Mon night.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and good w/i at scales.
Bye for now.

Hello Janet and Everyone!!
Long time no post. I have been missing reading the posts. I was layed off from Sprint about three weeks ago. I luckily found a great part time job, so I am doing this for now. I am still on the weight loss track it has been slow, I have lost 30 pounds in 19 weeks. I wish it would speed up, but no suck luck. I hope everyone else is doing great.
I will post more often now that I have access to a computer. Have a great weekend.

Hi Tonya, great to see you again! And that is a terrific loss, wow 30 pounds!! :) You are exactly where WW says you should be, or even farther, as they recommend 1 to 1.5 pounds a week after the initial week or two. That means you're following program and will KEEP the weight off, too. I'm so happy for you!
Bandit, that's sweet of you to help BF out during his busy season. All your exercising is inspiring me to get busy, too, as I have been neglecting my walking way too much this last week. I rented a yoga dvd (Yoga for Dummies, how appropriate for me!) and will also try that this weekend.
Hi to everyone; JOYce, hope you are having a safe trip!
Regards,
Jan
