Good Morning:

If you check yesterday's thread, you'll see that Sloanie is back in. We've missed her and her support.

I hope all is well for everyone. I'm off to the podiatrist to talk about foot surgery :(

05-14-2012, 02:20 PM
Rhonda, thank you for the new pages. What's up with your foot? I hope it's something minor.

Sloan, that's good that you're stocking your pantry with CORE goodies. What do you have frozen? I'm curious.

Just got home from stocking up with fruit and such. I'm waiting to hear from my gf. We are going for a pedicure together either today or later this week. Our company will be here Thursday. I need sparkling tootsies.

Tomorrow is WI. I'm excited to go. Still on my WW honeymoon I guess.

Vickie, how's your day?

05-14-2012, 04:38 PM
The joint between the right big toe and the foot proper is very painful and has a severely limited range of motion. It's become more and more painful regardless of what shoes I'm wearing or what I'm doing. The podiatritst had told me some time ago that surgery would be necessary eventually, let pain be my guide, and not to let it go too long. So, time's up! Surgery is tentatively scheduled for July 6th.

Long day are the rest of you?

I seem to be craving sugar and fat!....all the "bad" things.

Thanks, Sandra.

05-15-2012, 12:42 AM
Rhonda, sorry to hear about your foot. Hope the surgery makes it good as new.

Sandra, I have not started my freezer food, yet. I will keep you posted. Are you doing points or core?

It has been a long day, hasn't it? GTG to bed. 6 am comes around too fast!

05-15-2012, 07:52 AM
Good Morning Chicks! I'm crazy busy today and I was yesterday too. I promise to be back in the morning tomorrow to catch up properly.

Good Morning Ladies:)

WoW!!! I forgot to post yesterday, and I can't think of why I didn't. Had a easy day, just getting my clothes and check list ready for my trip in 1 1/2 weeks.
Will get all the itinerary and airline tickets this Saturday at our meeting place.

RHONDA-Thanks for the pages, so sorry about your foot surgery,I must of missed that post, hope everything will, be fine when you have it done.

SLOANE-Glad to see you posting again.

SANDRA-Hope you fun with your friend and having a pedicure together,I never had one of those.

VICKIE-Have a great day, & remember to take a deep breath.

Have to go and start my dinner.

05-15-2012, 04:58 PM
Sloan, I'm counting points but eating a lot of CORE foods. I've dropped over 11 pounds so far. (And I'm back on sugar!!)

Rhonda, I have days like those. Yesterday Curtis and I split a pkg of Doves Chocolate Covered Almonds. And I had WI today. Not a good combination!!

I gained .2 this week. Prob the choc covered almonds. We had a good meeting. I'm pumped and ready for company. I'll have to go to evening meeting next Tues due to scheduling, but that's all right.

Vickie, you're a busy lady. I'm eager to hear about your weekend.

Maryann, not long till your trip. Are some of your friends going, too?

05-15-2012, 05:17 PM
Wow Sandra, that's awesome! How long have you been back? I was counting points, lost a few pounds, then put it all back plus 2 or 3.

Hi Maryann! How are you?

05-15-2012, 07:34 PM
Sloan, you are wise to get back on track before you gain as much as I did. YoYo goes on and on or so it seems. I am proud of you!

05-15-2012, 08:48 PM
hello chicks.

I thought I was here yesterday. Must have been with Maryann and we got lost.

Welcome back Sloan.

Sandra, I don't consider that a gain. You are doing so good since you went back to the meetings. We don't have meetings any place close. They have closed them down.

Rhonda, good luck with your foot surgery. Hope it goes well. Thanks for the new pages.

Maryann, that 1.5 weeks will fly by. I know you will have lots to share with us when you return.

Well, I have another cousin that is in ICU. He had a heart attack and now has fluid in his lungs, and his kidney is shutting down, on a ventilator. I don't think he is going to pull through this. He is another of my first cousins on my dads side. If he dies, I will only have 2 other cousins alive. That is really scary, and I keep seeing myself move up on the totem pole.

I'm going to my granddaughters to stay for a few days tomorrow. My husband is at his parents, and I'm alone right now, so I promised her I would visit.

Vickie, breath..............

take care.

05-15-2012, 11:42 PM
Yep, moving right on up that totem pole! Pam, sorry to hear that you have another sick relative. I don't even really have first cousins. I was born late into the family and hardly knew any of them and they were all decades older.

I know I've put on a few pounds just from the feel of my clothes. I haven't been tracking very carefully the last two weeks, and it's catching up. I'll start again tomorrow and get back on track. It's so easy to let it go when I get really busy.

05-15-2012, 11:50 PM
Pam, I'm moving up that pole, too. I am so sorry your cousin is in ill health. I'm glad you're going to your grand's. That'll be good for both of you.

05-16-2012, 11:08 AM
Sorry I have been missing..enjoyed my youngest being home a few days and having my grandson here...Its great when the house has kids in it..I plan to rest today and also get a few things done...The new dog is sweet but has some habits that I need to work on..Hoping I can..

Eating has been way too much fast food, traveling some and grabbing whatever is easy..

Sloan ..good to see you here, sorry you are struggling... I am reading Wheat Belly and the information is interesting..I am having trouble shopping for one..I may cook a few recipes this week and freeze some small portions.. sorry about your cousin..Is he close enough to visit??

Rhonda..sorry about the surgery coming up...Stock up on projects & books you can do/read with a foot propped up..You are so active that I know it will
be hard until you can be on the go again..Did the Dr tell you what to expect after the surgery??

Maryann..The trip is getting closer..How long is it ??

Good Morning Ladies:)

We're having a very wet day outdoors,Luckily I had my rain jacket with me when going out this morning before it started to come down.My friend Clare and I are going to be duel Canters in our church starting tomorrow, with the Holy Day. Than on Friday I'm going to have my vertical blinds installed in my house. So it going to be a busy end of week for me.

SANDRA-The .2 is probably water,it will be gone in no time. Yes my trip is just around the corner, and there so much to do,will I ever stop my heading spinning. The friends that I'm going with are not my social friend like Mary, Rita & Pat but another group that I belong to Clare, Margaret & Elaine. I'm now branching out to different groups,to keep myself busy.

SLOAN-I'm fine health wise & social wise but not in getting my weight into control.have to work on that once I get back from my trip to Europe. Going with my church group to Medjugorji for 10 days.

PAM-Hope to take lots of photos when I'm there as I understand the area has beautiful scenery. The only thing I'm not sure of is the currency of the Euro. No one going has an idea of how many they are going to buy.
I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin, hope that he will pull through.Sending my prayers to you and your family. You know we all in the same boat as we all in that age bracket.

RHONDA-I haven't either Have to start tracking my carbs again Went out to dinner with a friend at the spare of the moment.Had BBQ chicken sandwich with french fries. Today I'm on Atkins shakes and meal replacement bars. The to lose the poundage I put on the last couple of days.

NANCY-Happy to hear you doing things along with entertaining family members and not being bored. I'm sure you do fine with the new dog,it just take patients.I don't have that anymore,so that the reason I going to have pets anymore. I have another 1 1/2 weeks as we leaving 5/27 a week from Sunday.

Have to go,and look over my check list and make sure I going to take all that I need for this trip.

Have a great day

05-16-2012, 05:09 PM
Maryann, I too am thinking of using some prepared shakes over the next week. I love the ones I make at home, but may buy some chocolate ones.

The doctor said 3 days of staying totally OFF the foot and having it propped up. I can do that. Then, about 6 weeks in a "boot" that, after one week, can be replaced briefly with a driving shoe if I need to go out. DH won't know what to do if he has his own car available  I'm not concerned about it and wish I could get it done earlier. I could, if not for a tap performance at the end of June.

05-16-2012, 06:40 PM
We have the place ready. Our company arrives tomorrow. Life is good!

I prob won't be here much till Monday. Ya'll have a great weekend.

05-16-2012, 06:54 PM
Sandra, have fun!

05-16-2012, 09:37 PM
Will do. Tomorrow we're touring Cowboy Stadium!

Hi Ladies:)

Going out with Rita this afternoon to the 99 Restaurant. This is the third time that I'm going out to eat.Not going to be every happy on W-I day that's for sure.

Have a question????????One of the woman that is going on the trip with us told me today I might not be able to get EUROS as the bank has to order them[at least 2 weeks in advance], is that correct???????????? I'm thinking if that's true I will have to buy them at the airport.

RHONDA-I always have the shakes on hand just in case I go overboard with my eating one night the next day I feel like I'm in control.

SANDRA-Have a wonderful time this weekend.

Have to go,have a great day

05-17-2012, 12:56 PM
Maryann, I can't help you there.

As to eating out--our frenzy begins this evening. We may go to Pappadeaux's for dinner after we tour Cowboy Stadium if our guests want to go there. If not, we'll prob go out for Mexican food. Curtis and I are having extremely low point lunches today and we are well-stocked with fresh fruit. I'm thinking we'll have 1 high point meal a day. That's the plan anyway.

Have a good day, all. I'll be back when I can.

05-17-2012, 06:28 PM
Mayann...I will ask my cousin about the Euros..she has been to Paris several times..

ps...Okay I asked her..She got hers in a week from her bank..She said the airports here & there also
have them..

05-18-2012, 12:57 AM
Maryann, I'm sure your bank could tell you on the phone if they have them or not, and, if not, what you should do.

I've gotten back to my rigorous counting and feel better already. Getting off track is upsetting, but I also get so bored recording everything. It is, however, really the only way for me to get perspective on what I'm doing.

05-18-2012, 08:11 AM
Mornin' y'all! 1. DD staying with us until Monday when she will join her husband in OK for his new job. 2. Funeral yesterday. 3. End of school year business at school. Busy, busy, busy. I had a wheat free day yesterday, and I can tell a difference in how I feel. I new I felt better while on core!!!

Good Morning Ladies:)

Having my new vertical blinds installed now,and wow!! do they look beautiful comparing to the old ones I had 15 years ago. Hopefully they will last another fifteen + years and I'll will be all set.

The People that took out the roots of my next door neighbors house was here this morning also, and now its up to the two owners what they will put in place of the ones that cut down by accident.

I called my bank and they told me that it depends on how my Euros I need, One woman told met to only buy Euros and leave my US dollars home. The bank told me that I have time to decided as it only take 2 days to order them from another bank. Now this morning on the News I heard something about the EURO but I wasn't paying attention to what they said.

Thanks Ladies:) I did find out from my bank and tomorrow I will ask the 206 tours what other people do when going on the same trip.

My blinds are up and they are worth all the money I spent for them. I now have to go pick up my meds and got to Walmart to get my adopter and other items in need for the trip.

Have a great day

05-18-2012, 07:54 PM
Hi there. We are now home from the Ft. Worth Stockyards, Cabella's, and Cinnamon Creek Archery Complex. We had a great time, rode in a horse-drawn carriage, and shopped till we dropped. Our company is taking a nap. I have had 21 pts so far today and know exactly how I'm spending my 5 points at dinner. We'll be snacking here with pick up food that includes oodles of fruit. Life is good.

Rhonda, I have to keep a food journal or I blow my eating plan (or lack of plan) to smithereens.

Sloan, you sound happier now that you're back OP. :D
Got to go. I'll check in tomorrow.

05-18-2012, 08:31 PM
After Nancy mentioned the Wheat Belly book, I started doing some research. Whole wheat has bothered me for a while, but I have not had problems with refined wheat. Now I'm thinking I will try to go wheat free as much as possible. The most interesting thing I discovered is that I think my husband has celiac disease. He has almost all of the symptoms and several of the complications! One skin symptom he has is very specific for celiac disease. I think we will pursue this!

Hi Ladies:)

Don't have too much time as I have to go to a meeting the 206 tours are having. They are going to give out the airline tickets and the itinerary for the trip.Along with the 206 flight bag we choose.

Have to go to Radio Shack and pick up an adopter for my camera and they an extra battery. On Tuesday I go for a hair styling and than packing and all the other stuff you got to do before a overseas trip.

Have a great day, will read and post tomorrow

We're home readying to go to our niece's high school graduation. Our company is going to stay home and unwind. They have been in a whirlwind since last Saturday spending time with friends in St. Louis, MO and us here in TX.

We've done as planned eatingwise. I may have a gain. If so, I earned it but know it could have been much much worse.

Welcome, Itdone. Have you been here before? I can't remember.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone. I'll be back later.

05-19-2012, 11:28 PM
Glad you're having fun Sandra.

We went to see the grandsons play T ball this afternoon. It was so heartwarming when the younger boy said in a sing-song voice "Nana! What are you doing here?" while grinning ear to ear. I think we made them happy. It is a lot of fun to see them all growing up and becoming skilled.

I've had a good day in terms of food also, staying within calories and carb count.

05-19-2012, 11:49 PM
Rhonda, that's wonderful. Ya'll are building some fantastic memories with those little guys. Congrats on your eating. Mine was good today=better than yesterday. Now we'll see about tomorrow.

05-20-2012, 10:09 AM
Good Morning Chicks! I know I've been absent. I can't seem to get myself together. It's a busier time of year for us with birthdays and all. The carpeting looks wonderful and is basically dry. I didn't post yesterday because I didn't have access to my desktop and it isn't easy to type much on the iPad. I'm on the iPad now with my wireless keyboard. Pretty darned cool. I have a neat stand for the iPad that I bought from Amazon that works wonderful. I should have thought of this yesterday.

Rhonda, I'm so sorry to hear about your foot surgery. That's why I'm going to so much PT to try to avoid surgery. I'm about ready to give up. It seems with double heel spurs in the same foot, it's hard to get rid of the inflammation...then add the plantar faciitis. Sigh. I may be in a boot with you soon. What exactly is wrong with yours.

So Mary Ann, I must have missed something. I see you are going overseas but I have no idea where. When do you leave?

Sandra, you have to live your life and that means some splurges that cause small gains. The real trick is to get back on program quickly and continue going to meetings. I haven't mastered that trick yet but I keep trying!

Sloanie, how is the counting going? I haven't counted in forever but I am trying to be more mindful. And....I've been reading more as many of you can tell if you are my FB friend. It keeps me from eating when I'm engrossed in a good book.

Pam and've both been almost as quiet as me. How are things going?

We are going to cook on the grill today. My GF gave us some awesome steaks; NY strip for me and a Ribeye for Jim. She gave us 6 steaks and they are individually vacuum sealed so we can only use one of each and not have to eat the same steaks. We are also going to cook some chicken for lunch during the week. I'm thinking some small baked potatoes cooked on the grill. I haven't had a baked potato in forever. Jim is going shopping soon. I need apples to make applesauce for the next 10 days. Next week is really busy for us again but then it should quiet down a bit after Memorial Day. Normally, I'd be gearing up for trying to swim as much as possible while getting everything else done but since there is no pool....our time should not be as much at a premium as it used to be.

Catch up with you all later!

Hi  Vickie-

A few months ago I signed up with my church to go to Medjugorji and yesterday the 206 tours that we signed in with gave us all the info we need for the trip[airline tickets, intinerary prayer books] and a tote bag.

There are 22 people going form our group but only 6 from my church. They usually have a bigger number when they go in Sept but our spirtual adviser[our priest is leaving the parish in June].

We are leaving on Sunday 5/27 [Memorial Day Weekend]until 6/7.

Have a great day

05-20-2012, 06:04 PM
Vickie, those steaks sound delicious.

The toe joint has some bone fragments floating loose and there is pain and limited range of motion. Arthritis is developing. The podiatrist thinks I must have injured it but I have no recollection of that [must have been one of those Margaritas! ;) ] He says it is simple surgery with good outcomes normally.

05-20-2012, 06:32 PM
hello chicks. I'm back from visiting my granddaughter. We had fun shopping. I helped her organize her kitchen and we purged the kids room. Ate too much, but it sure was good. My great grandchildren are so well behaved. The baby's ear plug came out and was infected. It was due to come out anyway. Amber texted her dr. and he made a special trip to his office on Saturday. to see the baby and called in meds for him. Now that is a fine doctor in my book. Didn't know there were any like him out there anymore.

Rhonda, sounds like relief is just around the corner for you foot. That's good to hear.

Vickie, you are one busy lady. Grilled steak sounds yummy.

Hi Sandra, Maryann, sloan and Nancy and anyone else I missed.

05-21-2012, 12:13 AM
Hi, Ladies. I am just here for a sec. We've been having a fantastic time. We even worked in our niece's high school graduation last evening.

Good to see you all here. I have missed you!
