It is almost that TOM for me and I am STARVING! What do you all eat to help satisfy your hunger without cheating on your diet? Thanks all!! :)

if you want to eat without cheating on your diet, i'd suggest some healthy protein because it will be filling

me, on the other hand, when i get a TOM craving, it's easier to just eat what i'm craving and then get back on track...and i dont mean days off plan, just eat what i wanted in an okay portion and get back on track...because otherwise i will spend DAYS eating other things, trying to tackle that craving without giving in, and eventually give in anyhow, and have used FAR MORE calories trying to outrun the craving, than it would have been just to eat the darn thing and move on

I tend to eat larger meals that are low in calories because it's not a craving issue for me, just a hunger issue, so plenty of soups, veggie-rich chili, egg white and veggie omelettes, Asian noodle bowls, etc. I eat the foods that give me the most "bang for my buck."

I go for filling low-calorie foods too, but I also have stopped trying to sate the hunger. I used to chase it (with healthy, high satiety choices -- fat, protein), but I've realized that for me it's a hormonal hunger I can't "catch." I increase how much I eat slightly so that I don't feel overly-deprived or restricted, but I've given up on not feeling hungry for those couple days.

For some reason, this works for me. Before I felt like I couldn't beat it. Now, I recognize what's going on, acknowledge that the hunger is just a temporary sensation, and try to make peace with the feeling. Over time, you really can learn to be comfortable with some level of hunger feeling (never thought I'd say that). I know TOM hunger is finite, it will end, and since I know I'm eating enough, I just move on.

Thanks all!! I would try the giving into that one thing that I crave, but once I start I can't stop.....soup seems to do the trick....but the hunger feeling doesn't go away, so I think it's something that I have to live with for a week...lol.... I'm just glad that I am not alone...
