Spring Poem
Free Verse
in Just-
spring when the world is mud-
luscious the little
lame balloonman
whistles far and wee
and eddieandbill come
running from marbles and
piracies and it's
spring
when the world is puddle-wonderful
the queer
old ballonman whistles
far and wee
and bettyandisabel come dancing
from hop-scotch and jump-rope and
it's
spring
and
the
goat-footed
balloonMan whistles
far
and
wee

Lame, queer, and goat-footed. Sounds extremely uncomfortable.

No no... I know who HE is! I just don't recognize him as my representative. I keep wondering where that fat lady is!
I love Wallace and Grommit. I wish the producer would do more stuff with them.

And then there is one from Grade 1 - not when I taught but when I was a kidlet.
"Listen" said the kitty Willow,
"I can hear a brook!
Spring is coming! Spring is coming!
Let's go out and look!"
I think I weighed 48 pounds then and had my hair in braids with ribbons.

But it is you Ellis! Note that he is reading, you always have your nose stuck in a book
Spring has sprung,
the grass has riz,
I wonder where
the birdies is?

That's what I thought too, Mauvais!
48 pounds, huh Ruthie? That's like one of my legs.

...another Spring poem...
Spring is sprung,
the grass is riz,
I wonder where the birdies is?
Plenty of birdies twittering outside my window today. Thank God for Spring! It's warm and sunny (kind of) and I'm going out to (willingly) do some yard work. Good exercise there...physical AND mental!
Happy Spring to all!

Kat darling... is it my imagination, or did Mauvais just post that? It's like I'm seeing double...
Have fun in your garden!

The worms crawl in,
the worms crawl out.
The worms make compost
when spring's about.

Ha-Ha, Ellis! I'll leave you guessing.
( You'd think she could remember an easy name like Portuguese Water Dogs!)
Hint: PWD
