Greatest HIITs :)

How do you keep up with the full 60 minutes??

My birthday is this Saturday! Taking SATs, then having a party. I'm having a Weight Watchers pumpkin cake, so hopefully I don't gain anything.

From the last thread:

By the way Diana, do you have trouble keeping up with the entire 60 minutes? The longest one I can do is Fire 45!

Emily I am a cardio person, so I don't have trouble with TF 60. I have also been doing TF since it first come out. So, it's been a while. I have done TF 45 and TF 45EZ back to back, with weighted gloves. I have also done all of the HIITs back to back. (that's 1 1/2 hours of HIITs ) I am like the energizer bunny with cardio, but weights kick my butt! ;) Good luck with your SAT on Saturday! I hope you do well and have a fantastic birthday!

Just started doing Turbo Fire again. I got good results with Turbo Jam and Turbo Fire. I injured myself trying to do too much while doing Turbo Fire. I did HIIT 15 last and Turbo Fire 30 the night before. Working my way back into it slowly. I'm going to start following the calendar tomorrow.

I hope I can join you guys on this thread, even though I haven't started Turbo Fire yet. I am currently doing the Chalene Extreme program with Turbo Jam and a variety of other DVDs. Turbo Fire is on my reward list, and i cannot wait to try it! I am working hard to get there :)

I have had Chalene Extreme for about a year but am just now starting it seriously. I absolutely love the interval training workouts, the strength training circuits are making me incredibly sore, and I am enjoying the program for the most part.

Today: Burn Circuit 3

First up this morning: I have to go see a surgeon about getting my gallbadder out. Not pleasant, but I have 3 large galllstones giving me a lot of pain, so it has to be done. I am not sure how this is going to set me back in my weight loss effort ... or help me?

Welcome to the thread.

My sister had her gallbladder taken out when she was fifteen. She has no trouble maintaining her weight. Of course, she gets angry if she gains a couple pounds (due to snacking), but that's bound to happen when you eat doughnuts.. haha.

Good luck with the surgery, the scars don't show much after healing. :)

Thanks for the welcomes, everyone!

Today: Recharge Workout and possibly a Zumba class tonight.

I will be having a girls night out with my daughter tonight, so Zumba class may not happen, but that is okay! I will do my Chalene Extreme today and may try to get in a walk this afternoon. I need to clean the house, so that will burn some calories as well.

I'm supposed to run a 5K with my daughter tomorrow and I am SCARED. I suck at running and I fear I will hold her back...but not going at all completely lets her down, so at least I am going to show up and give it my best shot. I wanted my hubby to do it, but he has a boy scout thing with my son, so here I go...

Diana3271
05-04-2012, 07:44 AM
Good Morning and TGIF!

Purplefirefly Don't worry about the 5K. Just do your best. That's all that your DD will see. Enjoy the day with her.

Thank you for the support, Diana! My daughter is doing Girls on the Run, so she has been in training for this...I have not because it was supposed to be the hubby doing it with her :( Oh well, all I can do is try to keep up with her.

I was just reading a blog that says there is a schedule in the Turbo Fire book that combines Chalene Extreme and Turbo Fire. I did not realize that was an option...sounds like this schedule uses the circuits in Chalene Extreme but replaces the cardio workouts in that program with Turbo Fire.

I am going to move Turbo Fire up on my rewards list so I can get it much faster...I did not realize the programs could be combined like that! Now I am really excited to hit this next goal...so i can buy TF!!!

My workout today was our 5K race. It wasn't horrible, but I simply do not enjoy running. It was very nice to spend the time with my daughter and she had fun...but I am just not that great with running. It took us an hour and four minutes to finish, but at least we did finish. I did more walking than running, she did more running than walking...there was a period toward the middle I let her go run with her friends and I caught back up to them toward the end. It was enjoyable, but only because i was doing it with her.

Tomorrow: not sure yet, but may just take a day off and catch up on some housework, which is exercise in its own way.

I'm trying a test post yet again. I have tried replying to this thread about 4 times now :) I am 37 years old and from Alabama. I am two days away from my birthday and very unhappy with my physical self. I am presently at 214lbs. I have not exercised for the better part of a year (since I got divorced). I used to be very active swimming and kayaking. Now I am too tired to do most things. The most exercise I get now is yard work, vegetable gardening and caring for my free range chickens. The veggie garden is a new thing which I hope will help with my diet. I wanted to find a fitness partner/motivator to support me with trying to start TurboFire and/or Chalene Extreme. They do no good sitting on a shelf. I enjoy cooking a great deal and just enjoying the outdoors, reading and I want to feel fashionable again. I hope I can find some good support on this thread. That's my intro. Let's cross our fingers that this post goes through.

I got the birthday party over and done with yesterday so I am starting my TurboFire today. Any recommendations? Should I combine my Chalean Extreme and TurboFire or should I start out with TurboFire only?

Diana3271
05-13-2012, 01:05 PM
PeuAPeu While I was losing, cardio worked best for me. Everyone is different though. I did mostly cardio but added in 1 or 2 days of weights so I could maintain my muscle mass. If you do it this way, I would make sure your weight days are full body.

hey guys :) I just started insanity yesterday and a place to check in would be helpful so i may use this thread if its alright :)

I did the fit test yesterday (posted results in the insanity thread). I was sore this morning from that. it was a work out in itself!

Today I did plyometric cardio circuit. I had to sit out a lot but I kept pushing myself to do all I could until the very end so Im proud of myself for somewhat surviving it.

i've never really done dvd work outs before so we'll see if i can stick to it :)

Thank you :) it is pretty tough but I'm getting through it the best I can. I'm so sore so I know it's working and it keeps me doing it so far.

Today was Insanity Cardio Power and Resistance. It kicked my booty. I really suck at push ups and it had a lot of push-up type work outs so I did all I could and collapsed waiting for the next work out lol. Hopefully I'll get better at it over time!

its so great to have a place to come like this with so many others working out pretty much daily. so i want to say thanks to everyone and great job!

today was insanity cardio power and resistance. i know i'm getting stronger and just able to do more and more of the videos but i'm a little irritated that i'm not seeing any weight loss or measurement changes. I know it's only been a week but I saw several ppl say that they lost 5 pounds the first week and I was so hoping that would be me! I guess maybe I'm gaining muscle/losing fat but I motivate myself with decreases on the scales so its a bit frustrating. I'll stick with it, but hopefully I start seeing some more changes soon!

There's definitely less on the floor stuff in this video than the other. I already forgot exactly what it has in it because all the videos start to blend together since they all have a lot in common, but I want to say there's very little on the floor. I'll try and remember to pay attention more to that the next time I do it :)

Today I did insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit. It does have a lot of on the floor stuff. I definitely can't do exactly what they do on the floor, I just try to do as many push ups as I can.

This weekend, i'm going camping with my ex boyfriend and his family(Yes, we're getting along).
They're NOT likely to have healthy food (his aunt makes the best desserts). However, I will eat what they have, mostly vegetables, and I'm bringing a cooler of my own with fruits and vegetables. It should be a fun weekend. I'm hoping not to gain any weight, but if I don't lose any this weekend that will be okay.
Happy Memorial Day Everyone!

I've heard that when you do intense work outs the sore muscles hold onto water so that might be why Volschika007 :)

Yes, to this. If you are sore, your muscles are probably holding onto water for repair.

Everyone is doing a great job! Keep it up! :carrot:

I'm really not ever sore anymore from work outs but I'm still up 1 pound from when I started. I'm just getting so aggrevated because I've been hovering around 200 for so long and all I want is to just see 199. I thought for sure adding a more intense work out program like this would do it for me but its been 2 weeks and no budge on the scale at all...and my measurements are even exactly the same as they were. blargh.

anyway. today was pure cardio and cardio abs. they're crazy for having us do 2 work outs on one day lol

Hi Ladies!
I've been using a Polar Heart Monitor for the past 2 weeks during my workouts and I've noticed that I'm burning more calories now that just 2 weeks ago doing the same workouts. Any thoughts? Perhaps due to slightly more muscle tissue? I'm not complaing just wondering :) I also wear the weighted gloves with everything.
Workouts today were wonderful and had great energy!
Take care all! :)

Hello all!

Holiday weekends can be tough - I agree! Tonight I'm off to do Hiit 25 and Core 20. Honestly feeling so irritated about a work thing that I may also go for a long walk with my dogs.

Great job on Fire60, Diana! I've yet to try that one :)

TurboLaura Sorry about the work situation. I know a walk with the dogs will make you feel better. That's a good way to put you in a good mood and make the pooches feel better too.

Thanks for your kind words, Diana! I took my boys for a 45 minute walk and felt MUCH better! I was able to rock hiit 25 and core 20 tonight. As Chalene says, a good mood is just a workout away!

May I ask you how long it was before you stopped thinking about food when you were upset by something? I'm slightly irritated at myself for eating and extra 200 calories just because I was annoyed....BAD HABIT!

Good job on the walk and workouts!

Ha Ha! I never stop thinking about food! I have had food issues all of my life. I try really hard not to eat when I am upset, etc. My biggest issue is that I can eat a lot of food. I have always been a big eater. I will have issues with what I call "the bottomless pit". If I am hormonal or having the bottomless pit issue, I will steam a package (1 pound) of frozen veggies. I will normally drink a glass of water first, eat the veggies, then follow that with another glass of water. That seems to help me without causing too much damage with the calories. I seem to be good once I get that full feeling. Everyone is different, though.

Hi Diana,

That sounds like a great suggestion, thank you. I just hate that I think of eating every time I get upset - I guess that's how I ended up so heavy! I need to replace the behavior!! I quit smoking 4 years ago and don't think about it anymore...let's hope the same happens with food but I think I've been a food addict longer! HAHA.

After work will do another long walk (weather permitting) and Fire 55EZ.

Take care all and I appreciate your support :)
