In July, my Doc wanted to put me on a statin. He wrote the Rx. I threw it away before I left the office. Cholest was 289. In Sept I started IP. In Dec I went back for blood work. He came in the room, sat down and said "WOW, those meds are really working! Your cholest is down to
169." I told him that I wasn't taking any meds for cholest. Or blood sugar. He was puzzled. HOW can that be? Well, Doc, I've lost 43 pounds and I stopped eating crap. He said, well keep it up. Patted me on my knee and that was it. Never asked WHAT program I was on. ****, I could have been eating just lettuce and taking speed - he didn't know.
That's me. I've never been one to follow directions.
I knew WHY my numbers were so bad - I was being immature and juvenile when it came to what I ate and I put myself in danger of all kinds of health problems.
You have a different doc and different body chemistry. You need to do what's right for you.
