i got this idea for this thread yesterday, when i was offered a cookie and i declined.

i know it doesn't sound like much..but for me, that's huge!!

what's something you did today that is positive??

I jogged for 15 1/2 minutes...The longest ever. I have to hit 20 minutes on Tuesday (I'm doing the C25K running program). I realize that I am stronger than I thought....that's a great feeling :)

We went out for lunch. I looked for a "Simply For Life" logo on the menu and that is what I ordered. A turkey club on ww bread and a large green salad while the better half had french toast, pancakes, panfries and sausages! :O)

Today we took a 13 mile bike ride around the lake and on the way home we took the short cut that involves a pretty steep hill. Last year at this time we would have never even thought to go for a bike ride around the lake!

I ran yesterday and had a horrible, sluggish, torturous run. Instead of dwelling on it, I went back out today and had a fantastic run.

Made my own healthy dinner instead of eating the delicious monstrosity that my boyfriend ate. (cheese and herb stuffed pasta with mince meat heavy sauce and half a ball of mozzarella on top) I ate steamed brocolli, mashed potato and a chicken breast with some spinach salad. Phew.

I took the dogs for a brisk 20 minute walk. I'm trying to learn to like cardio, and my dogs have short little legs (corgis), so this was a challenge for all 3 of us. ;) We went just over a mile.

I love this thread! What a good idea. :)

I stuck to my calorie goals for breakfast (granola and yogurt and coffee = 400) and lunch (turkey and avocado sandwich, coffee, plus a tiny bit of granola = 450).

I also had a good day at work - I feel that I supported my coworkers as they needed it.

I had a 2.5 hour drive that turned into a 4.5 hour drive ... so I pulled off the highway to get a soda/use the restroom at Wendy's ... and I didn't get fries. Or anything but a diet soda.

So I felt OK when I got home -- not greasy and overloaded.

there was a display of raisinets at the grocery store and i freakin love raisinets. i actually picked it up, but looked at the calorie information and promptly put it back down. i was hungry, too..so i was really wanting something!

I'm going to list two!

1. I went to the farmer's market this AM and loaded up the fridge with all kinds of healthy goodies for the week. Kale, greens for a big salad, beets, broccoli, asparagus, strawberries...we've got a whole week's menu of delicious planned.

2. We went out to a chain restaurant with friends. I looked at the nutrition info and ordered something reasonable, even though all of my instinct was saying "You're pregnant! Order a cheeseburger!"

I'm going to do yesterday since it's only 8am here and I haven't done anything super yet.

I was going to take a rest day from working out yesterday, but the end of the day came and when DH got home from work I went to the gym and did an hour of cardio.

I went to the gym today; I had a healthy breakfast; I planned out my meals for the day (I am way better with eating when I have a plan). That's not one, but three before noon! :)

Ha! I was thinking of starting a thread like this in the Exercise forum called I went to the gym today even though I TOTALLY DID NOT WANT TO.

And I didn't feel happy and refreshed afterwards either, I still was cranky about it afterwards. But I did do it, so I'm darn well going to tell somebody about it. :)

And I only had one corn muffin with my chili afterwards even though I kinda wanted a second one.

Took my dog for a walk . . . at 5:00 this morning. :dizzy: Did a little jogging with it, hoping to build myself up to something relatively substantial. Also lifted weights and did a few squats (gotta slowly ease myself into that). :lol:

Studied my *** off and aced my physics final AND the class :D I dont feel the need to be so strict with my diet when I need extra nutrition to do all nighters! Getting back on plan after this week though!

Got up at 4 am and did my Monday workout.

Ate 4 servings of veggies (carrots, green beans, and two servings of broccoli) and two servings of fruit (cantaloupe, and a mix of strawberries/blueberries/raspberries)

Ate two healthy proteins: chicken breast for lunch and salmon for dinner

23 grams of fiber so far today.

I did my yoga AGAIN after work tonight! Even though it was only 22 minutes each time, I don't remember ever exercising twice in 1 day. :D

did some weight loss tip researching, and plan to take the advice.

i liked the tip about making positive affirmations to myself. i struggle with my inner self constantly, so i will now try to tell myself that "i can lose weight" or "i will eat healthy snacks" instead of mentally beating myself up, and causing myself major anxiety in the process.

I weighed in after school and got 164- FINALLY! I've been stuck at 165 for over 2 weeks now! So that's good.
Maybe a little counter intuitive, but to celebrate, I had a breakfast-day. I ate a lot, maybe even borderline-binge, but I feel like it was an accomplishment. Like, for dinner, I had some sprouted wheat bread, an apple, and some peanut butter smoothie stuff spread on it. I wanted a second slice of bread with more of the spread, and what did I do..... I stuck the rest of the spread in the freezer :)
So, I'm saying I broke even. Which is totally cool, 'cause yesterday, after a good long workout, I cam home and had green juice for dinner. I plan on having some more juice tomorrow. I just need more kale! :B

There were free donuts in the kitchen at work, a thoughtful gesture from a coworker, and I eyeballed them pretty hard but got my plain hot tea and morning water and walked out. They are still in there, I'm still eyeballing them, but I'm still not going to take one. They are probably stale by now anyway and stale donuts are the worst!

I woke up and felt absolutely no motivation to work out. I did it anyway and ended up having a fantastic workout. I pushed myself pretty hard and my HRM said I burned 517 calories.

We're out of town today for a cousin's graduation. I pre-packed a little cooler with a healthy lunch, dinner and snacks. When the rest if my family decided to stop at Wendy's for lunch, I resisted the chicken nuggets and had my planned meal instead. :)

For the first time in my life I shared my starting and current weight with someone in my real life. I've even avoided being weighed at dr's offices for quite a while. I shared the info and my blog (which I tried posting but don't have a high enough post count) with my husband. I feel like a huge weight (no pun intended) has been lifted from my shoulders.

I also opted to go for a nice walk when in my head I wanted to raid the fridge.

I went for a jog with my boyfriend up a local mountain and all around the surrounding hilly back roads today. We both woke up with junk food hangovers and decided to seize the (beautiful, sunny, warm) day. Not sure of mileage but we were on our feet for probably 35-40 minutes.

krampus, it was indeed a lovely day here! I walked at The Crossings for 1:20 and felt great every step of the way, and that was after 20 minutes on my recumbent bike and 55 minutes of weight lifting.

Does it make it less awesome that I took a nap later? :)

Swam 1/3 of a mile, biked 12.5 miles faster than I've ever biked, and then did a 1 mile fun run with my friend.

I did around three hours walking. I slept in today and had a late breakfast. This was pretty big for me, since i am working on breaking my night eating habit:).

Stayed within my calorie limits today - and every day over this past week - even when I didn't have a very positive frame of mind about weight loss. After a difficult two-week period, I'm officially back on track and feeling positive again.

Ate lots of nice food (not a binge, just a little over eating) and don't feel guilty about it. That is really important to me, and not something I've experienced before. So I don't feel all screwed up and stressed about the next week, I want to eat healthier and normally again. No big deal. Yay :)

I went for a nine-mile bike ride, got my first flat tire, and managed to actually fix it and ride home.

It took like half an hour, and two tubes, and two CO2 cartridges, and I got a mild cold burn on my thumb, but I made it back! And now I know I can fix flats!

This thread is awesome, lots of great inspiration here! Today I did the Spartacus workout; it's high-intensity circuit training and I haven't done any strength training in several months. Might be slightly sore tomorrow but that kind of soreness always makes me feel productive.

I took a nap! I know that sounds anti everything when it comes to diet and exercise, but it was a long, stressful week, plus I live on a farm and have a huge garden and a full time job and I just needed a nap.

I made cupcakes with my son (he calls Father's Day 'Other Mother Day' since it's just the two of us), and instead of licking spoons, swiping icing, or eating a cupcake, I ate blackberries.

Sweets are my downfall. Though believe it or not, dark-chocolate-covered pomegranate seeds aren't that bad for you. I mean, they're not the best for you, but they're a nice little sweet treat. :)

I went to the lake and swam around (not just floating) for an hour. I love swimming and all but recently I haven't had any energy and just want to sleep so ive been meaning to go for weeks and just couldn't do it. felt great once I got in, seriously had to force myself to get going. after swimming, fiancÚ and I both got on our huge donut float and floated in the sun for a bit, the activity was quieting down and it was so peaceful and we watched a beautiful sunset hit the water ~

Instead of giving up and sabotaging myself, (because I have been upset that I had gone up a couple pounds), I continued today to work for my goal. I didn't let my bump in the road get me off course. I worked out hard and ate about 90% clean today. :-) It starts with loving ourselves and giving ourselves a pat on the back!

I resisted Starbucks while I was at the mall picking up my new glasses. I had a homemade hot chocolate instead for considerably fewer calories and less sugar. It was just as satisfying and a lot cheaper, too.

I lost most of a toenail yesterday after running into my scale–if this is some kind of message, I don't get it–and my toe is still really tender today. Instead of using that as an excuse to sit around, I went to the gym and did a slower walk on a higher incline (6kph/6% as opposed to my usual 7kph/3%). I still did lower body weights, and core exercises. Go me!

I am so proud of myself this morning for making a big breakfast for myself. I typically will restrict calories in the morning to just coffee and then by night time I am always looking in the cubbards for something to eat. So I am making myself eat 3 proper meals a day (1200 cal goal).
So this morning I had 2 eggs, 2 toasts, coffee & orange juice. It was SO nice and now I am stuffed. It was the first time I've had sunnyside up eggs in a decade!

My Mom is visiting my husband and I for the weekend, and offered to buy lunch. They had pizza and I choose to finish a half chicken sandwich that was in the fridge and some blue berries. Because we had eaten out last night too... and it is just too much eating out for me.

I only ate 3 small squares of 85% dark chocolate and 1 Tb. of almond butter... last time I tried that, I ate the whole bar and a big honking pile of almond butter :lol:

I had a little treat (Double Chocolate Vitatop, cottage cheese and a square of dark chocolate) on top of my regular calories for the day. Rather than go all out and eat like a crazy person I enjoyed my planned treat, and adjusted my calories for tomorrow so that it averages out to my overall calorie goal. :)

i banned myself from the work cafeteria. yep. not going in there at all. there is never anything healthy, and i always walk out with something fried or some butter/oil/cheese laden pasta. or worse, a piece of cake.

did a 20 minute jaunt on the treadmill this morning and stretched, i don't do morning exercises, i'm better in the evening and hopefully i will also do an evening treadmill or walk and i need to get in my leg weight training exercises :)

one AWSOME thing about (yesterday) TODAY......I finally MASTERED my low carb- low fat tortilla pizzas!!! Left me wanting FOR NOTHING!! I have been working on these for SOME time and I finally nailed it! Pizza cravings are hard to SATISFY with options that are low carb and low fat(because Im VERY concious of BOTH at ALL times!)....so Im OVER the moon about about it....I LOVE being excited about FOOD!! as much as I LOVE to eat and ENJOY IT!!! Great thread! Very Positive!

I really wanted a sweet tea vodka at the pool today. So I got unsweetened tea, truvia, 4 slices of lemons, and a shot of vodka. It was perfect...and saved me a ton of calories!

Couch to 5K week 3 day 2: jog 1.5 min, walk 1.5 min, jog 3 min, walk 3 min - repeat. Plus warm up and cool down time... the treadmill has been feeling so good in the mornings! I have to get up early to fit it in, but I feel good as soon as I'm on there... my playlist is mostly early hip hop from the 90s, which is big fun for me, and I walk around with those songs in my head feeling like a fly girl all day long. :cool:

finally got off my butt and went to the gym.

i started on the treadmill with full intentions of doing a 30 minute jog, but then my pants started feeling loose like they were gonna fall, and my stupid t-shirt was loose, but somehow seemed to start creeping upwards?. i was SO uncomfortable. i thought for a second of just LEAVING, but i hopped on the elliptical instead for less bounce, and did 45 min there.

Got off my hienie, put on my new shoes and went for a walk. I am fat, lazy and out of shape, so making this effort is awesome for me. According to my calculations, I burned about 50 calories. That's a start.

I can relate...I had to white-knuckle it through 3 hours this afternoon, when my planned lunch and snack just didn't seem enough, and I had to re-stock the bakery case where I work with all kinds of pastries..and there was a 'sample' dish of cookie pieces out for customers...I did NOT cave!! I used all my supply of will power dust :dust:

When I came home, I found roast ginger chicken on the table. I was sooo tempted to have a bite but I've already hit my limit and it was way past my eating window. I took a piece of the chicken, ready to put it in my mouth and then I was like...NO. Then I put the piece back down, hurriedly put all of the chicken in the fridge then I went to shower.

I don't eat cold meat so that's going to deter me from eating it :lol:

I passed up a sticky bun :carrot: The coworker who asked me if I wanted one looked totally confused when I said no thanks, I just had my bagel. I don't think she's used to people turning down goodies :D
