Alright, ladies let's keep it going! :carrot:

Let's do a mini bio/roll call..I think it would be nice if we got to know each other a little more. Optional of course.

My name is Gabrielle. I'm a 37yo divorced mom to one boy (9yrs) and I live in Chicago's NW suburbs. I'm in a relationship 4 years and I work as a Dental Assistant. :D I also take interest in photography.

I have dealt with yo-yo weight all my life. I floated between 135-155p but spent majority of my life with a little extra weight. My pregnancy in 2002 sealed the fluff. My highest weight was 174p for a few years after I had my son but I went through a period of extreme stress that caused me to lose 35p, gained about 10 back and have been stuck in the 150's for the last 5 years.

My goal is to look better in my 40's than I did in my 30's. :) I'm really trying.

04-06-2012, 11:02 PM
Lurkers are encouraged to join too! ;)

04-07-2012, 01:40 AM
Whoo! 500 posts already? :D

My aunt is staying the weekend so I'm not sure what exercise I'll get, but I'll work for something.

04-07-2012, 09:14 AM
Morning all :coffee2: Looks like a gorgeous day again! Today's my 'off' day, but I may just do something..... :)

have a great day :carrot:

04-07-2012, 12:28 PM
153.2!! That's almost 152 in my book! :woohoo:

04-07-2012, 01:29 PM

My name is Chris. I am 43 years old as of January. I am single and spent most of my 30's with a medical illness not tracked to my family's dna and recovering from surgeries. In my 40's now it took me some time to realize that I am ok and can move on with my life. I still have residual feelings from my surgery like lack of abdominal strength. I used to have a fear of pushing myself too.

My highest weight was 220. From that I dropped drinking soda and immediately dropped 10 pounds. I seem to hover between 200 and 207 for a few years now. I am pressing on to make my 44th birthday in the best shape ever.

04-07-2012, 02:55 PM
:hug:Hello everyone!

My name is sherry. I'm a 29 yo mother of a girl and two boys, 8,6 and a 1 yo.
I'm happily married and a stay at home mom. As you might have guessed, I barely have enough time for my self and I'm using that to exercise. I've always been a little over weight, my highest weight is 141 lbs and lowest is 115 lbs.
I have a vacation coming up in 9 weeks and my goal is to lose around 15 lbs and have a better shape.
Good luck to everyone

04-07-2012, 04:13 PM
Welcome Sherry!

04-07-2012, 06:56 PM
Novangel thank you! :)

Ok, so today I did 30 day shred and perfect legs glutes and abs. A total of 60 min workout. And let me just say, that I am dying :stress: but in a good way!
I hope I have enough time to workout this much tomorrow. I wanna e in shape as fast as I can.
Stay on the go! :carrot:

04-07-2012, 08:33 PM
Gabi...you have company with the shred!

I've not exercised today and probably will not. Today will be my rest day and I will use sunday to do my cardio. My sis and family are here. I took my sis to Whole Foods and we spent a pretty penny there. I found my so delicious coconut milk bars that I've been searching for ever since I saw the picture on the company's website. I LOVE ice cream and using coconut milk adds in healthy fat. I just had pizza and wings with my family and that was dinner. Tomorrow will be back on plan.

Have a great day everyone!

04-07-2012, 09:49 PM
Pizza and wings with family sounds wonderful Philly !

There is so much good stuff on Hulu, I can 'waste' as much time as I did with cable (thank goodness LOL). I didn't understand that Hulu+ gave access through TV; I thought it was needed for the things with a "+" because when I hit the first set of commercials, I thought I was getting 'excerpts'. (commercials...everywhere?) But I got through most of Shiva Rea's yoga dvd and just found a nice kickboxing one. I really like the variety. I think this is going to work out just fine..... I'll probably get the '+' at some point; want to get my TV connected to the internet by other than my laptop to give the laptop a rest - but for now regular Hulu on my laptop is getting the job done nicely.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend... :)

Hello, can i introduce myself?

I am almost 50 years old. I started as a painfully skinny child, and put on weight with my first pregnancy, after putting on a little more with my second I started a diet and entered the wild and wacky world of diet/loss/regain. 20 years and another child later I found myself at 16 and a half stone with a game leg and depression.

My life changed on the day of the first quake, 4th September 2010. over the next 18 months we have experienced 10,000 quakes including the devastating February one. My life does not even begin to resemble life before. I am writing my story in the form of a blog, but it is taking a little time, I post a little of it once or twice a day, so bear with me.

5 weeks ago I began running, after the Christmas quakes changed everything again. I will tell the story of that in the blog too as it is too long to go into here.

Today, after 5 weeks of running I managed to walk/run/shuffle 5k for a first time trial and did it in 48.07.

Its so cool to meet other people who are exercising despite not being the perfect weight/size. i always said i would start running when I lost the weight. But I have started early!

Actually i love running, although week 3 I was sooooooo fit to quit!

04-08-2012, 10:32 AM

Ok, I not only missed the 10% mark I set for today but I'm over a couple of pounds because I've been eating too much restaurant food - salt and carbs - and stopped daily weigh-ins - which would have reinforced to me the fact that I'm taking in too much salt and carbs. UGH Perhaps today I learned that consistency is key ??? Ya Think?

So, fresh start day today. I know I'm going to do this...I have to keep my focus. I want this extra 20-or-so pounds off by the 4th of July. I'm sick of this already.

Have a great day and Happy Easter !

04-08-2012, 11:37 AM
Oh, I missed the introductions.

My name is Olivia, I'm 22, married five years in June, no children yet. My husband and I just bought our first home. I have dealt with weight issues my whole life and am right now the healthiest weight I have ever been. I so wish I knew as a child/adolescent the things I know now, but I guess that's part of the learning process.

Welcome to the new people!! It's great to see you!

I've been busy with my Aunt, but we did exercise together yesterday. It was nice to workout with someone again. My mother-in-law and I used to exercise together when I first started and I miss her terribly. I'm not sure what I will do today, but I had dreams about TurboFire. Is that weird?

See you all Monday!

04-08-2012, 01:17 PM
:welcome: Autodidact! nice to have you with us

:welcome: Thebunneh! No its not weird. I dreamt about exercising too :D

Today i did the 30Dshred and will be doing pilates later on, when im free.
Hope all of you are on plan and, remember KEEP MOVING :exercise:

I lost 2 lbs, so im really happy :D

04-08-2012, 10:27 PM
It is so nice to see so many new members join the thread. Welcome to all!!

Olivia (Bunneh), dreaming of turbo fire...too funny!

Auto, welcome! I believe that life throws us these little trembles to keep us aware... of life...our family...ourselves. The problem is when we do not take notice then a bigger jolt is thrown our way. Sort of a wake up call. Glad to have you with us.

Exhale, I felt so very bloated after eating that stuff. I literally stayed up and drank water until I felt better. Then I went to bed. I LOVE hulu! I've also bought some shows on amazon like Whitney. I love that show! I'm telling you if you can splurge for a roku box you will love it. Another website you may like since you are using your laptop is projectfree.tv .

Sherry (angelsmom), so nice to meet you! I hope you'll stick around and share your experiences with us.

In the other thread I posted a resource page of exercise web content. If you have a way to connect your computer to the tv or even work out to your computer the web has a huge library of workouts available. I'm going to repost the resource page from the other thread if I can locate it. I myself used it a few times to locate a web resource.

When my sister and I went to Whole Foods yesterday there was a free raffle. Low and behold my sister won a HUGE $50 fruit platter. It had blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, cantaloup, honeydew and pineapple. I confiscated a healthy bag of fruit that will last me the week. Yay!

This weeks grocery finds....
My new love is a salad dressing by Bolthouse Farms. It is yogurt based and 45 calories for 2 tablespoons! I bought Classic Ranch, Zesty French and Thousand Island. So far I've had the ranch and thousand island and they are delish!

I also discovered a yummy wrap by Tumaro's-New York Deli Style. It's a huge 10"...80 calories...9grams of fiber and a good percentage of calcium. I've been craving sandwiches and this wrap fits the bill.

I also bought a jicama. I've always wanted to try it only cause I've seen it on cooking shows. Now to figure out what to do with it...lol.

I think I'm going to take the day off tomorrow. I've been in major relax mode and just want another day....ahhh, I hope its a nice day so I can walk in the park.

Ok, this post if REALLY long. That's what happens when I don't get a chance to chat with you...lol. Goodnight!

See everyone tomorrow!

04-09-2012, 04:11 AM
Phillygirl, thank you! Great links btw. I've been craving sandwiches too, but I won't eat any.

3o day shred level 1 day 4, and perfect legs glutes and abs done!

Have a good day, or night everyone :)

04-09-2012, 09:54 AM
Morning everyone :)

Thanks for the great list Philly, I got in the wrist workout - it was fun and my wrists feel refreshed.

04-09-2012, 01:06 PM

I'm glad you found something you could use on there. There's a lot to look at on youtube and on the web.

I've decided this week will be awesome as far as adjusting my attitude and eating to nourish my body and not the little voice in my head that tells me I want chocolate. LOL I am stretching more these days and it actually feels pretty good. Thanks to Exhale for her expertise in this area. I've read that it takes 21 days to form a habit.

I think I self sabotaged my efforts because that is when I fell off the wagon. This is week two for sticking to Body Revolution. Is it really that hard? It's almost like being in rehab getting your mind back or even changing your mindset is really hard.

I took off today to have an extra long weekend. I slept in and feel very refreshed right now. I'm off to make my lentil stew again. This time its out of a bob mills packet, but it will still be yummy.

04-09-2012, 02:08 PM
Oh, here's a pic of the fruit tray my sister won.

04-09-2012, 06:23 PM
Its quiet in here today.

My workout for the day is done! I'm in week 2 of the Body Revolution program. Today I did workout 1 and tomorrow is workout 2.

Off to prep for the work week.

04-09-2012, 11:01 PM

My name is Vanessa and I'm 29 and a teacher and writer. I'm trying to do 30DS as well as regular gym time with the elliptical. I have to lose weight for health reasons, but also because I'm tired of looking like this and i know I can fix it.

I've finished Day 4 of 30DS but had to take a day I didn't plan on off because of a migraine.

So hello and welcome!

04-09-2012, 11:17 PM
Welcome to the thread Vanessa. You will have company with 30 day shred on here there are a couple people doing it. Stick with it and change will happen.

04-10-2012, 12:55 AM
I didn't really feel like working out tonight so I did level 1. Still kicked my butt anyway and I am sure it's fine to switch things up. Maybe I will try Level 3 tomorrow (if I am up for a challenge) and see if I like it better than 2. :p

Eyre13- Welcome! :)

Philly- I haven't tried body revolution, but I'm planning to do it after 30D shred. Are you seeing any results? Is it harder than 30D shred?

Level 1 30D shred done!

Keep moving everyone! :carrot:

04-10-2012, 09:36 AM
Morning all :coffee2:

Philly, that's a gorgeous fruit tray! And glad you're enjoying the stretching. While going over your youtube list I found FitnessBlender on youtube. Collection of exercise sessions. Real simple presentation, lots of good stuff to mix and match.....

I am still quite content sans cable. There's a nice peace in the apartment without all the extraneous drama. I'm going to bed earlier and sleeping more easily. I'll probably check out the Roku box sometime this week or so...

HI new people

Have a great day everyone.

04-10-2012, 11:04 AM
I am so not having a good day. I could not get to sleep. I guess I had too many sleep in days and my schedule is thrown off big time. I didn't get to sleep till about 3am and had to get up no later than 7am. My head hurts a bit from sinus issues too...ughh!

Angelsmom, Body Revolution is a very focused program. You can tell by the layout that a lot of thought went into development. It's like her programs in that its a mix of weights and cardio, but that's where the similarities end. She starts you off at a beginner level and ramps it up the 3rd week of each phase. Jillian still curses and yells, but she also super encouraging.

Exhale, that's so very cool that you found it peaceful without cable. I live in an apartment and the reception is quite bad without cable. I have my internet through the cable company and the price is feasible for both services at the moment. I do play the game of calling every six months to be placed on a new discount plan.

Gotta get to work. Have a great day everybody!

04-10-2012, 07:38 PM
Philly girl...

Its something about the weather. I went for a mile bike ride today, but by the time I got back, the migraine was back in force, so no 30DS for me tonight. *sigh*
I just want it to be gone so I can go on the hike I have planned tomorrow. Otherwise, we'll have to cancel it.

But YAY for everyone who stayed on track today!

04-11-2012, 12:10 AM
Ugh....I blew my diet by 500 calories and I didn't work out. I had every intention when I got home from work and before I knew it I had wasted time and now it's too late. That's just GREAT! :^:

Tomorrow for sure.

04-11-2012, 12:11 AM
This sucks I was so disciplined in March and April has been off to a shaky start again.

04-11-2012, 07:16 AM
Hello everyone,

Philly- thank you for the info, I'm guessing it will only be the best of her workouts.

Eyre13- I hope that migraine go's away. Don't be discouraged if it doesn't, get back on track when you can.

Novangel- just exercise a bit more when you get the chance, you can do it :carrot:

L1D6 30 d shred+ perfect legs glutes and abs done!

Keep moving!

04-11-2012, 12:12 PM
Hello everyone!

I'm very new to 3FC but have been reading through this thread and it seems like a great place to start posting!

Let me introduce myself - my name is Amanda, I'm 22 years old and live with my boyfriend in Washington state. I work as a Pre-K teacher and love every second of it! What brings me here is the need to lose about 50 lbs ... I currently weigh in at 200 lbs and want to get back to 150, what I was in high school. For whatever reason, I almost completely stopped thinking about diet & exercise in college and am now realizing the consequences of that.

I want to get in better shape and be a healthier person in general. I think a huge obstacle in doing this has been a lack of support (my bf is not a big exerciser and we don't have enough schedule coordination to work out together, and my whole family lives on the East Coast so no help there.) I also haven't really made any friends since moving to WA so I've been feeling a bit lonely! My hope is to come here for support as I try to change my diet/exercise lifestyle.

My bf's family is coming into town this weekend from Oregon so I am waiting until Monday, 4/16 to begin my full force body transformation. As for diet, it's worked in the past for me to eat 6 smaller meals throughout the day & really work hard at curbing my sweet tooth. Anyone else have success with the 6 meal a day approach? Any advice on that topic would be much appreciated. :)

I am still conflicted as to what exercise approach I should take. My tentative plan is to do Jillian Michaels 30DS 3x a week, step aerobics 2x a week, and a balance ball workout 1x a week, with 1 off day. I am not sure if this is the best plan, so any advice here is also most welcome.

Well, thank you all for creating such a wonderful support group; I'm looking forward to succeeding together with all of you! :)

04-11-2012, 12:44 PM
Welcome Amanda!

Sounds like you're on the right track with exercise! I'm no expert in the food department so I log everything I eat on Myfitnesspal.com. I learned with this app that some foods are way higher calories than I ever imagined, and I don't want what I am eating to be counter productive to all the effort I am putting into exercise. You can easily out eat your exercise program so it's just a suggestion. It's a great tool and very easy to use.

Glad you're joining us, the more the merrier! :)

04-11-2012, 01:19 PM
I did not workout as planned last night. I did give it a lot of thought before I blew it off. Last night was to be workout 2 and she advocates for two days of rest between workouts. We don't work the back of the body again until friday so I figured I would do it tonight and saturday and still be on schedule for next week.

I ended up taking some melatonin to ensure I would rest well last night and it worked. I'm glad I did I feel much better today. Tonight I will be back to my scheduled work out.

Eyre13, I hope your headache is better. I saw on the news that it will be a bad season for allergy sufferers. I think I escaped symptoms for a while, but it starting hitting me a couple of weeks ago.

novangel, don't be so hard on yourself. It's only one day and that 500 calories probably just put you at the high end of your weight loss calories. Just be mindful for the rest of the week.

04-11-2012, 01:30 PM
Welcome Amanda!
If you've been reading you know that we are a very interactive group. You don't have to wait until Monday. Start thinking about the choices you are making today and decide if these choices are helping you in your goal. As far as 6 meals? I probably do 3 meals and 1 or 2 snacks. I'm starting to take the approach of eating when I'm hungry. Your workout program sounds like a doable plan. I'm doing Jillian's Body Revolution and because she kills with squats, lunges and jumping moves I tend to want to give my knees a break and do something with lower impact. But, you won't know what works for you till you start doing it.

I echo Gabi's sentiment....Glad you're joining us, the more the merrier!

04-11-2012, 02:02 PM
Thanks for the welcome, Gabi & PhillyGirl2012! I already feel better/more inspired knowing that I have others on the same path & a place I can come to for support. :) I think this board will be helpful in keeping me more accountable as far as diet/exercise goes.

Phillygirl2012 - Thanks for the advice about not waiting til Monday. Deep down, I knew that was an excuse I was using to allow myself these last few days of poor eating/exercise habits. True to form, I had a piece of carrot cake this morning for breakfast, telling myself, "I'm not starting until Monday so why give up this opportunity for cake?" Horrible, I know. Starting NOW, I will be mindful of my eating choices & do whatever exercise I can, whenever I have a chance.

novangel - I signed up for myfitnesspal yesterday! It seems like a great tool and I love that you can track exercise and water intake as well as calories. I couldn't believe how quickly the calories added up yesterday! Thanks for the recommendation. :)

04-11-2012, 02:29 PM
ak812, realize that it goes beyond diet and exercise. We will talk about things that are bothering us that effect our goals. For instance, I talked about not being able to sleep yesterday and adjusted my thinking/program accordingly. If you need to vent, you can vent here. If you are proud of what you've done to accomplish your goal, you can post it here. Sometimes you do need a break from exercise, but that doesn't mean you need to stop posting. If you were around for our other thread, you would know that every member has gone through something on their journey. We are all human.

04-11-2012, 03:33 PM
PhillyGirl2012, thanks for the advice. I wish I'd been around for the other thread, but glad I can join now. What you said about this whole thing going beyond diet & exercise makes a lot of sense to me. I guess I've always known logically that eating & weight gain can tie into emotions/general life, but I haven't put too much thought about how it's connected in my own life. I don't really take the time to think about WHY I don't want to exercise on a given day, or WHY I feel like eating a giant piece of carrot cake in the morning instead of what I know I should be eating. I know that getting to and maintaining a healthy weight is more than dieting and exercising; I probably need to change my whole outlook on food and lifestyle.

As I sit here and think about my attitude toward food now, the word that flashes across my mind in big bold letters is COMFORT. Often, I eat as a way to comfort myself; if I had a stressful day at work I won't think twice about having a huge, unhealthy meal (i.e. chicken nuggets, mac & cheese, sugary juice, etc.) b/c I tell myself I deserve it after the day I had. I also have a pretty unhealthy connection b/w TV and food in my mind. A lot of the times I feel like I HAVE to be eating something if I'm watching a show, or that somehow eating while watching will make the experience more enjoyable somehow. Sounds kind of crazy now that I've actually written it down.

Anyway, apologies for the ranting post, just beginning to get my thoughts about all of this stuff out in the open! Thanks again, and by the way, glad to read that you are feeling better & more rested today. :) Good luck w/ the workout tonight!

04-11-2012, 05:04 PM
Welcome Amanda! Glad your joining us :)

Amanda- i eat 2 meals a day (breakfast and lunch) and than have snacks throughout the rest of the day, like a piece of fruit or a vegetable. As for exercise i have been doing 30 day shred and read great reviews about it, I do it everyday and add strength training 3-4x a week.

So today I ate around 1900 calories :stress: which is my maintenance intake! But maybe that's a good thing since I've been eating around a 1000 cal for quite some time now. Oh well I'll bring it down tomorrow :carrot:

Get moving everyone!

04-11-2012, 05:34 PM
Angelsmom - How has your experience doing 30DS been? I'm a little worried I won't be able to handle it. Also, random question, but is there a ton of jumping-based moves, like jumping jacks, etc.? I live in a 3rd floor apt and am always worried my morning workouts are being obnoxious to the couple who live below me.

Also, you've been doing a 1,000 cal/day diet? Sounds intense to me! Don't worry too much about doing the 1,900 today, tomorrow's a new day. :) Thanks for the welcome!

04-11-2012, 08:19 PM
ak812, I'm so glad you are giving more 'thought' to your process. It's not a walk in the park for any of us and I don't have the answer of "why" we give into foods that don't do us any good. I am not perfect with this either, but again we are human. I live for the day where exercise comes second nature to me. I do flinch when I see a kid eating an ice cream cone early in the morning. I do get treats, but early in the morning!

angelsmom, umm....1,000 calories!? I've read that the floor is 1200 for dieting. I live on a 3rd floor apartment too. I have done my exercise early in the morning or in the evening, but not too late. Like 9pm would be late to me and rude. For the most part I am quiet and keep my tv at a good level. I do try to land as lightly as I can. I maintain they can deal with it for a short amount of time.

I'm about to do workout 2 from body revolution. I wanted to tack on cardio, but its after 7pm. If I want to sleep tonight I need to allow time to wind down before bed.

Ok, off to exercise, dinner then bed

04-11-2012, 10:16 PM
Hi everyone! Really nice Pilates class this afternoon. But I screwed up with the food. I was feeling tired, and also blue (argument with someone) so I picked up some decadent chocolate thing from my greengrocer (!) along with some roast beef, and a gorgeous pear and organic apple (!). Anyway I ate way too much of the chocolate stuff and I feel :( and I'll probably have a headache from it tomorrow.

So my thinking now is when I look at that 'stuff' it's going to start to remind me of being sad and depressed; like a double whammy - and who wants to bring that stuff home. So maybe falling off the wagon was a good thing for me today...like next time I see some chocolate 'thing' it will remind me of feeling crappy and headachy and unhappy and I'll steer clear.

On the other hand, eating a dish of chopped salad always makes me feel light and clear. I guess every slip brings me one step closer to goal...

Have a nice night...

04-11-2012, 10:37 PM
Oh Level 2 how I loathe thee...if only you guys could see a pic of me right now!

AK812, I'm not going to lie 30DS is a beast if you're really out of shape like I am but you will shrink considerably if you stick to it with a proper caloric intake. I live in a condo but the floors/walls are sound proof.

04-11-2012, 10:40 PM
Let me clarify that I didn't lose much scale weight because of the strength training but lost fat. I will post a mid-section pic later. ;)

04-12-2012, 01:36 AM
Exhale - Just the fact that you're so in tune with how different foods affect your mood & feelings means you are on the right track. Try not to beat yourself up too much. In the words of PhillyGirl, we are all human. I think that's prob the best advice anyone can give.

novangel - Thanks for the input on 30DS. I think I'm going to hold off on actually beginning 30DS and begin with some Gaiam cardio yoga I found on Hulu & do step aerobics as well. I haven't exercised in a couple of months so I'm thinking it might be better to start off slow. Are you doing the 30DS right now? Good luck to you! :)

Side question - anyone have experience doing step aerobics, either positive or negative? I don't do any fancy moves, I mostly just step up and down and do some steps to the side/back, but break a pretty good sweat and get my heart rate up when doing it for 40 minutes or so. Any recommendations as far as step routines to follow?

04-12-2012, 05:17 AM
Hey everyone,

Ak18- im still on day 7 of 30 day shred, but I can tell you that I feel stronger already. I haven't exercised before this in like 2 years but it gets easier everyday and I think I will start level 2 on day 10 :D
As for the jumping based moves, there is a lot of them..

Phillygirl- I've been having a problem with increasing my calorie intake to 1200. Since I have been trying my best to eat all healthy foods, it's hard to get to 1200 cal unless I eat something unhealthy, which i don't want to do. I'm stuffing myself with veggies and fruits all day, but it's still not enough calories! Maybe I should get the extra 200 from a cookie or something...

Exhale- that's a good outlook on chocolate, i wish I could think of that when I see something "chocolatey" :D it's my downfall every time

Level 1 day 7 30 D shred, I don't think I'll be doing any extra workout today.

Good luck everyone and keep moving :carrot:

04-12-2012, 10:10 AM
Ak18, gilad basic step, Kari Anderson beginners step and Cathe basic step are my fav step workouts. I don't like dancy moves either.

Angelsmom, lol@cookie...ummm....no.

Novangel, you've come so far. I'm certain you will conquer level 2.

I'm having a hard time getting going this morning. I'm literally on my tablet still in bed. It was cold when I woke up which didn't help with me moving. Heat is on warming up the air. Sigh

04-12-2012, 11:53 AM
Angelsmom - Glad to hear you're having such success with 30DS! It's awesome that you're sticking with it and seeing results already. :) Good luck with moving up to L2 on D10, I'm sure you can do it!

PhillyGirl - Thanks for the step vid recommendations. I checked them out on YouTube and Gilad looks awesome and easy to follow. Have you ever done any of the Jenny Ford step routines? Hers are roughly 1 hr long and seem a bit more complicated, so wondering if you have any input on those. Good luck getting moving this morning - cold air is such a deterrent to exercise! The hardest part, at least for me, is always getting up and out of bed w/ the intention to exercise, so once you do that you've done the toughest chore already. :) Good luck getting moving today.

I have decided to spend my early AM pre-work time doing some cleaning before the boyfriend's parents get into town tonight. Already thinking of what we'll do with them over the weekend - they really like outdoors-y, hiking-type activities and I always dread those, as I am so out of shape. Hoping to one day look forward to a hike and not constantly be worried about looking like the fat girl who can't keep up with everyone else.

Have a beautiful Thursday, everyone!

04-12-2012, 12:52 PM
The scenery in gilad's workouts are mostly outside in Hawaii which is a bonus. I have not done Jenny ford but she is online and on the resource list.

04-12-2012, 06:55 PM
FINALLY over the migraine. (stupid pollen) and looking forward to being able to restart 30DS tomorrow. Since its been four days, should I just start over?

04-12-2012, 09:20 PM
Haha...I think Gabi would say no way! I had that long a break with my program and I restarted. Mainly because I lost the momentum that she works to build to the next phase.

04-12-2012, 09:37 PM
PhillyGirl - That's kind of what I thought. I was hoping I could keep on, but I figure its been a bit too long for that. lol

So we'll start over tomorrow with Day 1 again....

04-13-2012, 01:06 AM
Jillian level 2 done. :carrot: It's sooo hard! :tired:

04-13-2012, 01:39 AM
I tried to post pics but it's just not cooperating..oh well I will try another time.

04-13-2012, 06:33 AM
Ak812- thank you! Hope you have success in whatever workout you choose :)

Eyre13- glad your headache is gone, on to day 1, stay strong :carrot:

L1D8 done! I'm thinking trying lvl 2 tomorrow. Wish me luck :exercise:

04-13-2012, 09:55 AM

Good Morning Everyone!

I had lots of rest yesterday and feel fabulous today. It's nice weather here today and I think I'll put some music on and take a lunchtime walk.

I hope everyone has a great day!

04-13-2012, 11:15 AM
Good morning and Happy Friday.

Today's Pilates class. I realized that the reason that I'm not doing other than Pilates is that I don't want to be tired or sore on Pilates days, otherwise I'm not going to be able to do the work. So after this class I'm going to go once a week, so I can schedule in some more 'robust' workouts during the week, and take off the day prior to class so I'll be fresh for my session. Maybe down the road I'll have built myself up enough that I can go more often without being worried about soreness...

Have a great day and beautiful weekend...

04-13-2012, 12:21 PM
Exhale, does pilates help to loosen areas or muscles that are sore? I know it can be a stretch workout as well as strength building...is that right? I, on the other hand, do not have the guts to even take a pilates class. I find it totally intimidating.

04-13-2012, 03:47 PM
novangel - Congrats on finishing L2, that's very impressive! Great accomplishment to end the week on. :) Good luck beginning L3.

PhillyGirl - Glad you're feeling so wonderful today. It's a beautiful day here on the West Coast so I also plan on getting a nice walk in during lunch. Enjoy the wonderful weather & have a spectacular Friday. :)

Exhale - Good luck today. Have you been doing Pilates long? I realize I have no idea what a Pilates workout entails or what it targets. Are you enjoying it and/or finding it beneficial?

Have a fantastic Friday, everyone! I'm stuck at work for another 6.5 hours on this beautiful day. At least being a teacher affords me the ability to get outside with my kiddos a decent amount. One of the girls in my class asked me yesterday if we could do yoga in class. Thinking of maybe doing some very basic yoga poses with them soon. Could be a good way to get a small amount of exercise time in while at work!

04-13-2012, 04:10 PM
Really a gorgeous day today...

Philly, Pilates does help to loosen/stretch you out as well as strengthen. You should really give it a try.

ak, I've been doing Pilates a couple times a week for a couple of months now. I find it greatly beneficial in getting my middle in shape and improving my posture.

Today's class went well. We've been doing a lot of plank variations, which are a challenge for me. I've learned, though, that as long as I breath and focus I'm ok. If I let my mind run amok with 'ughhhhh', I'm done for ;)

Check out Pilates segments on YouTube....check out the ones from 'Balanced Body' as well as 'Pilates on Fifth'. Better yet, if you can find a certified instructor, take a class in person:)

P.S.....ak - your students want to do yoga? Fantastic !

04-13-2012, 05:37 PM
PS I have been eating terribly bad lately & new insights aside I decided to join WW online today. Figure I'll do it for 4 months & see where it gets me. I basically know what to eat but I forget ... And for some reason I start to slip when I'm doing well & it starts to seem easy - I think I start to take things for granted. So this will provide the various trackers & make it like a game & maybe spark a little competitive thing in me ...

04-13-2012, 08:28 PM
Exhale....What a coincidence. My best friend is seriously considering joining weight watchers. Wouldn't you know that Jillian latest podcast talks about the different forms of yoga. I haven't listehed to the whole segment so I have to tell you what she said later.

04-13-2012, 11:13 PM
Exhale - Good luck with beginning WW, and thanks for the info on Pilates. Also I liked your insight on how your thinking/mindset can totally affect how tough a workout can be. I know I spend way too much time thinking thoughts like "How much longer until this is over?" or "No WAY can I follow along with this move." Much better to remind ourselves to just be in the moment and take it one move/pose/interval at a time. :)

PhillyGirl - Didn't know JM had a podcast! I've been on a podcast kick lately, listening to This American Life and Stuff Mom Never Told You, so adding some health-based ones into the mix can probably only help me with my new goals. Thanks for the heads up on that.

By the way, my boyfriend's parents arrived last night and they both look awesome! They've both been very conscious about their diets and have been adding regular exercise into their lives, and the effort totally shows. Last time I saw them was Thanksgiving and there is a very noticeable difference now. Their efforts are very inspiring to me.

04-14-2012, 12:03 AM
novangel - Congrats on finishing L2, that's very impressive! Great accomplishment to end the week on. :) Good luck beginning L3.

Thanks! Got L2 done tonight.....gonna be a while before L3.

04-14-2012, 01:29 PM
153.0 almost 152 (hopefully!) :woohoo:

04-14-2012, 01:38 PM
novangel - Those pics look amazing! Seriously only 10 days apart? Congrats on that big time - really shows what a consistent commitment to being on plan can do for you. :) And yay for being down to 153.0! In my mind, I totally tend to round down when I see that .0 in there.

Enjoy the weekend!

04-14-2012, 02:16 PM
Gabi...are you frickin kiddin me!? You've been stressing about scale numbers but look at the difference in your abs!

Jillian's podcast is on itunes, but if you want to just download here's the link (http://content.everydayhealth.com/jillianmichaels/podcasts/jm-podcast-feed.xsl)

I also like Cut the Fat Podcast (http://cutthefatpodcast.com/category/fat-loss-podcasts)

04-14-2012, 03:15 PM
Hey guys!

Gabi- you look great! Big difference :)

Ive been so busy today, and I'm exhausted right now :tired:
Did level 2 today :D that was tough but I loved it! I'll continue with level 2 till another ten days maybe.
Good luck to everyone and stay OP :carrot:

04-14-2012, 03:38 PM
Great going Gabi !

It was warm this morning, but has gotten chilly. I was looking around the stores, and tried on a Spring jacket. I pulled the 'L', as is my usual, and though it fit, thought maybe I could do better. Turns out the 'M' was Much better! So now my default will be to pull out 'M's, because this has happened with workout pants, too :carrot:. Didn't need, or buy, the jacket but it was a nice NSV.

On a dumb note, my excesses of the past week brought me up 4 pounds. It may be mostly water, but pudge is pudge and I'll have no more of it - except that I blew through most of my WW points by 11:30 this morning :?: Got 3 left for the day ! 'Cause I've been carb loading:rollpin: And haven't had enough fluids, I've had no produce, and no healthy fats. I am really glad I've joined...this will definitely smack me into shape! Now I gotta go get in my exercise points...

04-14-2012, 04:00 PM
That's very good news about the smaller sized clothing. Sorry exhale, but the going through your points before noon brought a chuckle. Kinda like when I started logging my food and my carb and fat count was so high and didn't go with the calories I'd eaten. I am much more mindful these days. Umm...except last night I kinda went crazy with snacking and ellio's type pizza...opened a bag of bbq chips that were here and I don't even like bbq cause it just tastes like salt...whole grain cheez it crackers...cashews and my last so delicious coconut milk frozen treat bar. I paid for it too. I've got to stop doing this cause it just causes all kinds of yucky things to my body. I am really trying to stay on plan today.

04-14-2012, 04:11 PM
You know Philly, when I read 'bbq chips' my mouth actually started to water a bit :o It is very very good, though, that you notice the yucky aftermath of a junk-fest. That negative-feedback is really good to have.

It's OK about the chuckle, it is kinda funny.

04-14-2012, 04:42 PM
Exhale - Good going moving down to a Medium jacket size! Must be a very good feeling, especially as it's getting closer to new clothes-buying season. Hope WW is able to help you out with keeping track of diet. Do you earn extra points from exercising? If so, do you plan on using those points or sticking to your daily original allotment? I've heard various debates about "eating your exercise points/calories" so would love to know your opinion.

Good job getting moving today! :)

04-14-2012, 04:56 PM
Hi ak - thanks!

I'm going to keep to the allotted points. I want to eat clean wholesome food for its own sake and exercise for its own sake.

But since this is only day 1 for me, I don't know how things are going to be down the line when I'm at a healthy weight and exercising a lot...maybe I'll need the extra calories ... but I'm nowhere near there yet.

04-15-2012, 01:17 AM
I think I'm going to use the same approach as far as using extra calories from exercise. I'm starting to use My Fitness Pal and it's giving me extra calories for any exercise I do, but I'm going to try to pretend I don't even have those for the day. May even refrain from logging exercise on MFP so the extra cals don't show up.

Keep me updated with how WW goes for you. :)

04-15-2012, 07:49 AM
Hey everyone

It looks like everyone is doing great and on the right track! :carrot:

L2D10 done! :woohoo:the scale went down but maybe it's tricking me lol I'll update my weight tomorrow.
Keep moving!

04-15-2012, 11:14 AM
Happy Sunday! I'm up before noon and doing laundry. Nothing new to report. Have a great day everybody!

04-15-2012, 11:15 AM
Happy Sunday, Ladies! Yesterday was my night off but tonight it's back to Jillian and all of the torture she happily provides.

See everyone later. Keep movin!!! :carrot:

04-15-2012, 11:38 AM
HI everybody! Another gorgeous day. I have Pilates later this afternoon. Otherwise, doing a lot of misc catch-up.

Well, even though I think I blew through the weeks' extra 'points' yesterday, the scale is inching downwards and I'm back on track. I kinda like the 'game' of WW...can't get around those points :kickbutt:

Have a great day all

04-15-2012, 01:08 PM
Good morning, everybody! Seems like we're all feeling generally positive and on track; yay!

PhillyGirl - Doing laundry already? Rock on! lol that's a wonderful, productive way to start the day.

novangel - Hope you enjoyed the night off, and good luck getting back to the torture of Jillian. :)

Angelsmom - Congrats on the scale going in the right direction! Mine did too, and my instinct is also that it's always fooling me. But keep up the good work, and embrace the positive!

On a VERY bright note for me, I am weighing in today at 195.8, down from the 200 I was about a week and a half ago at the doctor. I am extremely surprised by this, as I have been eating like crap all weekend. Seriously, burgers, fries & milkshake for dinner last night, pizza the night before, birthday cake & some chocolate treats on top of that. I know I shouldn't put too much stock in the scale #, but it is always motivating to see a number I like. :)

Yesterday we took my boyfriend's parents and brother to a lovely park here in Seattle and did about 4 total miles walking trails and such, with a pretty significant incline on the way back to the car. I was surprised and happy that I never got too out of breath, which I had done the last time we did those trails back in Nov. 2011. Makes me think maybe I'm not in AS bad of shape as I thought.

Slight downside to family visit is that there are now a lot of treats in the house. Easter chocolate, breads, etc. I will just have to remind myself that if I eat ANY of it, must log it into MyFitnessPal. I like this site so much - it makes me feel like I don't have to deprive myself, as long as I balance out my daily food intake to equal my allotment. Is this system at all like the WW points, Exhale? I know they don't do simple calorie counting, but wondering what all goes into determining points for WW.

Well, happy Sunday to all and hope the positivity of today holds throughout the week. :)

04-15-2012, 05:28 PM
Exhale - congrats on moving down a size!

Angelsmom - Woohoo!

ak812 - another big WOOHOO for you! That's great!

After a week away from home and a migraine that wouldn't go away, I've restarted 30DS, so we're done with L1D1 (again). Its much easier this time. lol

Tomorrow I hope to get to the gym for a bit and then come home and do day 2.

Keep it up ladies!

04-15-2012, 06:07 PM
Class was good; did lots of different things. Now I'm debating whether or not to do my laundry .. Philly, you were smart to do it early!

eyre13 - thank you !

ak, I don't know exactly how WW figures out their points...raw produce is generally '0' points; I think other items are pointed based on fats/carbs/protein ratios. I just know that I have to really pay attention because those points add up quickly.

Everyone's doing so well.....have a great week :)

04-15-2012, 07:01 PM
eyre13 - Nice work getting started again with 30DS. It's always nice whenever a workout starts feeling easier and more manageable. Keep up the good work throughout the week!

I capitalized on my good attitude & motivation today by planning out meals for the week and grocery shopping. I've never had my cart so full of green produce before! I think a big help to me when I'm trying to lose is pre-planning, whether it's dinner or small snacks to have at work. When I know what I'll eat and when I'll eat it I am MUCH less likely to snack on junk food.

The tough part of this will be that the boyfriend is NOT a fan of veggies or healthy foods in general. I think this week will be a big adjustment for him. I'm trying to find stuff that both he and I will like, but he may end up having to cook his own separate meals on some nights. For example, one of the dishes for this week will be asparagus frittata - don't think I will have much luck at all even getting him to taste it. Anyone have advice on eating healthy when a boyfriend, husband, person you live with, etc. is not on the bandwagon?

Keep moving, everyone! :)

04-15-2012, 07:08 PM
yeah, but that was the only productive thing I did today. I'm in major relax mode. It didn't help watching paula dean and guest make butter pecan ice cream. I tell ya...if I had some buttermilk I would've made it. I'm just in the mood to experiment.

exhale, can you eat your own foods and calculate points? Can you tell us a little about the program?

ak812, you probably was a lot more mindful. Umm...can you get that stuff out of the house? For me I ate bbq chips just because they were here. Myfitnesspal is a good resource. I read the boards sometimes on that site and some people eat their calories back and some don't. I tend to exercise at night so there's no way I'd eat back those calories before going to bed.

I've not exercised in 3 days I think. I think I'm out of love with body revolution. She has these awkward moves or maybe they are just too advanced for me and it turns me off. I've lost my enthusiasm to get it done. In theory you work up to being more flexible/stronger and able to do more. I don't feel that way and am bored with the current weeks. I extended the workout last time and I think that's why I'm bored with it now. Sigh.

Off to find dinner

04-15-2012, 07:56 PM
Have to say I haven't thoroughly reviewed the program yet, just kinda jumped in...they have a points system where you count up the number of points in what you've eaten, and a power food program where you only count non 'power foods' (i think) power foods being produce, lean meats and fat free dairy. I chose the points program, although they let you use either as you like. So you get a number of food points for the day, and then weekly points that you can use to go over the daily allowance. Despite my dismal track record so far, I plan to stick to my daily allotment. So let's say 27 points per day....there's a food tracker where I input what I've eaten, a drop down that includes their database of foods and points. So, an english muffin is 3 points, etc. And as you add them to your food tracker the program counts them up and you see how much you have left for the rest of your meals. Again, things like greens, apples, etc are zero points so eat up! Along the bottom of this tracking window is a section where they prompt for whether or not you had the recommended number of veggies, water, vitamins, exercise, etc. They have a recipe builder where you can input a recipe to get the number of points per serving. I don't see myself really using that much, would probably rather figure one cup of lentils and a tomato, etc, but maybe later on I'll get more fancy.

They also have a fitness tracker, again you get a number of points for the week and every day you track what you've done. So my hour of pilates is 5 points, etc. For the fitness tracker, their data base includes general types of exercises, plus some dvd workouts as well as some of their own workouts. You're supposed to log in your weight every week. And you can see progress reports re your weight, and food.

They establish your food and fitness points based on height, weight, gender, age, and general activity level, based upon previous week's activity.

The website also includes lots of interesting success stories, fitness/motivation/etc tips and the like. So I kinda like it. Especially the fact that everything, everything counts....like 1/2 slice of swiss cheese, 1/4 bagel...the types of things that I wouldn't even count as food  all chip away at those precious points. I won't even begin to calculate what some of my indiscretions have cost me :o What I'll probably do is figure out some standard meals to rotate to keep it simple for myself and keep within my points -- which really is something I could do without WW, but it's kinda like a game in my mind. Also, WW 'tells' you to eat your produce, which is the kind of thing that I'm either doing really well ( as when I tried raw vegan for a week - felt great but hard for me to maintain ) or really badly ( as when I count green cookies ).

I've heard criticisms by some that WW focuses only on portions not on food quality, but I don't really see it that way. Sure, you can use up your points on junk, but I don't think most people would and the site also includes some healthy recipies. So like I said, I'll use this for the next couple of months to see how it affects by behavior.

04-15-2012, 09:07 PM
Thanks for the breakdown. It does seem interesting. I just shied away from programs like this because of the cost factor. LOL @ chip away. Like those taste tests when your cooking or the piece of candy from your coworkers desk. Yup, it all adds up. I neglect those "free" calories too! I lack terribly in the veggie department. I do eat lots of salads, but that's about it. Do you have a smartphone? Is there an app that you can track on the go?

On another note....
I found a fabulous channel on youtube called freezerburnsdotcom (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=8AEkz_s9rB0). Yes, that whole thing is the name of the channel. They review items found in the freezer section of the supermarket. I thought it was an interesting idea to focus on taste testing common items anyone would buy. Check it out!

04-15-2012, 11:35 PM
Myfitnesspal was a god send. I usually have calories left over at the end of the day, I try not to eat them back. I have gone over a few times but it's never catastrophic. Well, once I went over 500 calories. :o Oops.

Anyway, L2 conquered yet again. Have a nice night!

04-16-2012, 12:30 AM
PhillyGirl - Sorry to hear you're feeling a little done with Body Revolution. Any plans to mix up the workouts in the upcoming week? For me, I will start with a "weight loss" Pilates workout On Demand tomorrow morning. Going to be way tough getting back into the swing of things after 1.5 months or so with very little exercise. Best of luck to you. :)

novangel - MyFitnessPal does indeed sound like a godsend! I finished today (Day 1) on track with everything I was alloted & still have cals (well, only 50), fat, and carbs to spare. Yay for kicking L2's butt again!! Way to start off the week right. :)

Exhale - Great WW info. You tried raw vegan for a week? Extremely impressive. I'd love to do that but think it would be VERY hard for me to maintain as well. lol @ counting green cookies as veggies. It's great that raw produce counts for 0 points - I'm jealous that I've got to log them in as calories on MFP! Looking forward to seeing how the WW journey unfolds for you.

Well, I'm off to prepare for the week ahead. Hate how quickly the weekends go & how sloooow the weekdays progress. Have a few early AM appts (doctor, dentist, etc.) this week so will have to get up extra early to squeeze workouts in. Also getting a bit nervous about staying on track w/ calories & such at work. I teach Pre-K at a daycare center and eat lunch w/ the kids - food is fairly healthy but I never have any idea what to record the cals as. MFP is pretty good about having a large database of food, so hopefully I can find whatever I eat on there. Also will have to avoid any and all treats that are laid out in the kitchen at work. Ah!

Have a great start to the week! :)

Happy Monday!!

It's going to be a scorching 88 degrees here today, not looking forward to that. Just a quick note for everyone to make it a productive day and stay on the path. We are so with it!

Make it a great day everybody!

04-16-2012, 08:32 AM
Happy Hot Monday :)

I swear I'm sticking to my 'points' today....

04-16-2012, 11:02 AM
Hey everyone

ak- congrats on the pounds lost! So happy for you :) it seems like your on the right track.
Philly- I do laundry everyday :tired: I got body revolution and was thinking to do it after 30 day shred, I read online it's good to mix up interval training with cardio. So one day do body revolution and the next cardio only, that's what I'm planning to do.

L2D11 done! I'm so excited, only 19 days left :D i can't believe this, but I lost 3 lbs! I hope it doesn't change tomorrow lol

Good luck everyone

04-16-2012, 12:17 PM
PhillyGirl & Exhale - I'm so jealous of the warm weather you are having! My whole family's over on the East Coast & they say it feels like summer already. Enjoy it!

Angelsmom - Thanks! I'm feeling good about my plan and hoping it will be the right one for me. And a big congrats to you for losing THREE POUNDS! Very impressive, and definitely a big motivator to stay on plan and keep moving all week. I'm proud of you! :D

Today I did 40 minutes of "weight loss" Pilates and think I just about died. I've never done Pilates before and have been off the exercise bandwagon for a while, so I'm thinking I maybe should have started out with something lighter. I did the whole workout, even though I couldn't quite do as many reps or stretch as far as the instructor was doing. Thankfully I was just doing it On Demand at home because there were many moments I felt like calling the instructor some choice names. It's crazy to see how far she can stretch. At one point she told me to just stand up from a sitting position without using my hands. I don't think so, lady! ;) Not yet, anyway.

Well, I'm off to get ready for work. Unfortunately, the woman I usually give a ride to has to bring her kids in to work today and I am SO not looking forward to 40 minutes in the car with them screaming, and her screaming at them. I miss my peaceful, solitary commutes.

Happy Monday, all, and keep staying on track! You can do it!

04-16-2012, 02:45 PM
Angelsmom...yay to body revolution! Your body composition is much smaller than mine so you might not have the issues I'm having with some of the moves. I'm about to jump off of that bandwagon and onto another one...les mills body pump. Back to Body Revolution...Jillian really did a lot of work in putting together that program. About your one day on...one day off approach...she structured the program to give the muscles worked two days of rest before working them again. One circuit is done say on a Monday which works the front muscles, the second circuit on the following day which works the back muscles and cardio the third day. That circuit that was done on Monday gets repeated on Thursday...the second on friday and cardio on saturday. The workouts change every two weeks. The rest period is meant to allow your muscles to recuperate. Believe me, we on the facebook group look forward to cardio days. If you do facebook and want to join the group let me know and I'll send you an invite. It's not Jillian's page, but a user created page. It's a very active group with over 200 members.

ak812...noooo...it's way too soon for this temperature and its going to go back down to normal in a couple of days. My sinuses will be taken for a whirlwind.

Exhale, the day's halfway over. How are you doing with the points?

04-16-2012, 02:59 PM
Dropping in to say I am still around, just been crazy busy and haven't made much time to go online. Hope you're all doing great!

04-16-2012, 03:07 PM
Philly, you make me smile....I have 12 of my 27 points left...thank you for asking :) So much better than yesterday. I'm planning egg whites w/mushrooms and a green smoothie and maybe an english muffin for dinner, so I'll be good today. I'm also looking at Leslie's 'walk away the miles' dvd - the 5-mile one. This looks like fun; I'll give it a try...

What I also decided to do is switch to potato chips + plain popcorn instead of fatty sweets. Less sugar, and hopefully less addictive quality for me, because I really don't like the bloat! I read somewhere that the fat + sweet is a very very bad combo. I found out that I can make plain popcorn using a brown paper 'lunch bag'. It came out pretty good... So hopefully it won't be a daily thing, but I gotta get off the sweets...

Will be very happy for the temp to 'drop and give me 20 less'.

Enjoy the rest of the day. I'm gonna put on my sneakers and join this party. :carrot:

04-16-2012, 03:55 PM
Ak- thank you! Lol at the "choice names" I usually do that to Jillian, she literally kills me :stress: you can out this site for reviews and advice on DVD workout (all kinds and levels are available) www.collagevideo.com.keep pushing your body, it will get use to it believe me. :)
Philly-I'd like to join as soon as I'm done with 30 D, but Im afraid ill only be doing maybe 6 weeks before I leave for vacation.. Do you think I should wait till I come back? :?:

04-16-2012, 04:03 PM
Angel...I don't know. Six weeks is a good amount of time into the program. If it were me I think I'd still start. If I felt like I lost momentum I would to another week of the programs I was on before advancing.

Bunneh...good to see you! Stop being a stranger.

04-16-2012, 04:13 PM

LOL...you should've know I would ask. I told my girlfriend about your points the other day and she laughed and wondered what you ate for all your points to be gone. Moot point now, but I'm glad you are doing better today. I started making my own popcorn. I'm trying to get away from microwaving. I bought a mister whirley pop. It's a stove top popcorn pot. I like that I can flavor the oil and it mixes nicely with the popcorn because of the turn mechanism. I make it with coconut oil so there's no need or want for butter. I bought nutritional yeast flakes to try on the popcorn. I haven't made any this weekend though so I didn't try the flakes.

Sweets are my fav too! I made chocolate coconut almond clusters this weekend and they were freakin awesome! I watched the cooking channel as Paula Dean and guest made all kinds of buttery foods with one being butter pecan ice cream. I so want to make my own ice cream and that will happen very soon. I'm looking into coconut and vanilla at the moment. Can you tell I need a sweet detox program....lol.

04-16-2012, 05:32 PM
I made chocolate coconut almond clusters this weekend and they were freakin awesome!

Any chance of passing that recipe along? Sounds delicious. lol I think you and I both need a sweet detox program, PhillyGirl. I do find that the less sweets I eat, the less I want, but the problem is getting it all out of my system to start with.

Angelsmom - Thanks for the link. I think PhillyGirl has mentioned that site before, it seems like a wonderful resource. :) Good luck with the Body Revolution. My instinct is to say start it. 6 weeks is a good chunk of time, and after vacay you can always scale back until you regain momentum, like Philly said. Where are you going for vacation?

Exhale - Good job with the points today! Always a nice feeling to get back on track. I also want to try Leslie's 5 mile walk - let me know what you think of it if you start before me! I have an option On Demand to do either a 2 or 3 mile walking workout (not Leslie, someone else) so I may just combine those to get a total of 5. Will let you know how it goes. :)

Almost halfway through Monday, ladies! Actually almost DONE with Monday for you East Coasters.

And I just ate the last of those delicious treats. My sister wrote on my blog to save her some....mmmmk.:dizzy: I'll just make more :D when she visits this weekend.

Ak, I got the recipe from paleomg.com (http://paleomg.com/chocolate-coconut-bark/). I made half a batch. I added almonds to mine, more coconut and less coconut butter. She follows the principals of the paleo diet. I don't, but I like the whole foods approach. I also made the brownies using sweet potato. I wasn't a fan. I like them with black beans (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQOF6gXq7Xc) much better. You could tell with the sweet potato, but not at all with the black beans.

04-16-2012, 08:03 PM
Adding a wonderful youtube channel to the resource list. It's called BeFitin90 (http://www.youtube.com/user/BeFitin90?ob=0)and it gives you a 90 day workout program....what?! I can't believe they had the resources to do this and its FREE!

Somebody remind me why I keep buying workouts?

04-16-2012, 08:03 PM
Thank you so much for the link - the pics of those look just amazing.

I've been feeling annoyingly hungry at work for the past couple of hours (after lunch) but I think it's more that I'm tired and bored rather than actually hungry. Hoping to keep my energy up enough to make the crustless chicken broccoli quiche & roasted green beans I've got planned for this evening. Both recipes come from the "diet recipe" section of 3FC. Anyone try them before?

Another question - has anyone here ever done or is going to do the upcoming Biggest Loser challenge on the site? I signed up a few days ago & am really looking forward to it. Would be curious to know what others' thoughts about it are!

04-17-2012, 12:14 AM
It's late but I am still going to get Jillian in tonight before bed. I may do level 1 insead of 2 I am not feeling up for a beating tonight. TOM is preparing to visit soon. :^:

04-17-2012, 12:26 AM
Angel, they say 30DS burns approx 167 calories on level one. Each level gets much harder (at least for me it does!) so I am assuming the calories burned increases as you advance. That's what I read online..

Who knows...I will keep on keeping on until the DVD gets easy. Once I stop pouring sweat and gasping for air in 20 years I will move on to Ripped in 30.

04-17-2012, 06:32 AM
Hello ladies,

Ak oops! Didn't see it was posted before :D I think 6 weeks is a good amount of time too, so i guess I'll do it. I'll be going to turkey, my kids will drive me crazy but I need the getaway :tired:
Philly yup I'll do it, and continue when I'm back. If I did homemade ice cream I'll eat it all, I just know lol
Novangel when I moved to lvl 2, lvl 1 was still making me sweat, just not as much as I want. I read reviews on 30 D shred, and they said you need to push your body and not feel comfortable on levels. I'm sure if I did lvl 1 now, I'll hardly break a sweat. I bet you can do level 3 :carrot:

L2D12 done! It's getting a little easier, and I didn't stop at all this time. :D

Stay OP everyone :)

04-17-2012, 09:26 AM
Morning everyone :coffee2: Hi Bunneh :)

I did get in the 5-mile FatBurning Walk yesterday. It was like an old-fashioned cardio class....I don't know what you guys - who have been doing 'boot camps' would think about it...
I initially felt bored because it's difficult to march in place (!) but once I decided to go with the flow it was fun. Leslie's voice gets kinda loud when she laughs (my parrot started to screech :o) but she mixes up the various moves and has an upbeat personality. I felt well-oxygenated when it was done, and even got in some yoga afterward. Today's Pilates.

Keep on plan everyone :carrot::carrot::carrot:

04-17-2012, 09:33 AM
Hello all!

Did part of the Day 2 workout yesterday. Have to get the roommate from teh airport after work today, and I stubbed my toe last night. I'm not sure if I broke it or not. I don't think so, but maybe its good I won't be able to do 30DS today.
Definitely starting back at the gym on the elliptical and weights on Wed in add to 30ds. Got to get back on track after spring break!

04-17-2012, 12:51 PM
Good morning, everyone, and happy Tuesday!

novangel - Good for you for squeezing in some workout time before bed. I so prefer working out at night, but just can't do it schedule-wise. Your 30DS commitment inspires me! Whenever I see you post about finishing a level/day, it makes me want to progress even further with my own workouts, so thank you for sharing your progress along the way. :)

Angelsmom - A vacation to Turkey sounds awesome! When do you leave? Have a great time, and try not to let the kids drive you too nuts. Congrats on doing the whole workout straight through! It will be a while before I am at that step, I feel like stopping every 3-5 minutes for water during current workouts. Keep up the awesome work!

Exhale - Thanks for the input on Leslie's 5 mile walk. I did a 30 minute 3 mile one today. It's On Demand & was done by Kendra Kemerley. I really liked it, way more cardio than I expected though. I feel you on having a tough time marching in place. I had an even tougher time jogging in place. I was really paranoid about being too loud landing on the floor, so it was hard to just stay in the moment and appreciate the exercise. Good for you for getting so much movement in. Walking, yoga, Pilates - you're on a roll!

Philly - Thank you for posting that new YouTube channel. I browsed through some of the workouts and they look really beneficial. Do you plan on trying it out anytime soon?

eyre - Sorry to hear about your toe! That can be so painful. Hope it heals up quickly so you can get back to 30DS. :)

Last night I made the first of hopefully MANY healthy dinners for myself. Roasted green beans & crustless chicken broccoli quiche (both from the recipe section of 3FC.) It was delicious! I highly recommend both recipes. They were super simple to make and just delicious, for a very reasonable # of calories. This morning I also did a 3-mile walking workout (Kendra Kemerley, On Demand) which was more intense than I thought it would be. LOTS of cardio intervals, knee kicks, and general moving around, which was tough but felt great afterwards. For most of it I was supposed to be using 1-3lb hand weights but I don't have any so was holding 2 potatoes in each hand. Must have been quite a sight; glad the boyfriend woke up AFTER I was finished.

Well, have a fantastic Tuesday, all. Keep going strong!

04-17-2012, 03:57 PM
Different Pilates teacher today...very detail oriented and constantly reminding me to not 'give away' my abs (seems I've been giving them away left and right lol::lol: ) I really liked her - her classes are usually booked up and now I know why. I was spritzing...made all the worse by the fact that she often made adjustments to my (soppy) neck to elongate my spine.

ak, so glad to have company in the 'walking' department...I think I expected some kind of creeping around the sofa work-out... And I had the same challenge with not imagining making dents in my downstairs neighbor's ceiling....but I haven't gotten a note under my door, so I guess I'm good.

Pleased to announce that I still have points to spare for dinner :)

04-17-2012, 04:31 PM
Eyre sorry to hear about your toe, get better soon. Get back on 30 DS as soon as you can! :carrot:
AkI'll be leaving in the middle of June. Sounds like your doing a great job with healthy eating and exercise. Keep up the good work, you can do it! :carrot:

04-17-2012, 05:41 PM
Hello Everyone!

You guys have been busy posting today.

Ak812, I may explore it down the line, but I'm waiting for my barbell set to arrive so I can do Les Mills Body Pump program. I have MANY 90 day programs and never completed as written. I do bits and pieces. LOL@potato for weights.

eyre13, take care of that injury. Foot and back injuries are the worst. Take it easy.

Angelsmom, wow...a trip to Turkey! If you take me I'll make you some ice cream...lol. Feel free to share some pics of your trip.

Exhale, I have one fast mile of Leslie's that I really like. Biggest loser walk is a great workout too. I was pleasantly surprised. Sound like you had a good time in that pilates class. It seems like you are really into it. I hope you don't give it up.

novangel, you are doing so great with Jillian. I wonder how you'll feel about level 3.

I'm bothered by the heat and currently at work with a headache. Good thing the workday is just about over.

04-18-2012, 12:50 AM
AK, thank you it's very nice to hear I inspire you that just gives me another reason to keep on going. :)

Philly, I think I will be able to advance to level 3 a little faster than it took me to get to level 2. *knock on wood

Angel, I remember when I thought level 1 was literally going to kill me and now I can do it all the way through without stopping (amazing) but it is still uncomfortable on that last strength part where you lean to the side and raise the hand weights to eye level! I use 5p weights so that part burns like a mother! Level 2 is very uncomfortable, I have to stop a few times to catch my breath but I'm making progress. :)

Just finished L2 but I'm miserable with pre-tom bloat tonight. :/

04-18-2012, 06:48 AM
Happy hump day!

04-18-2012, 07:00 AM
Hello

Novangel- keep on going! You'll get to lvl 3 in no time :)

Philly- sounds like a good deal to me! :D

L2D13 done! :woohoo: also did 15 min cardio after it.

Good luck ladies :carrot:

04-18-2012, 12:33 PM
Morning, everyone! The week's almost halfway over. :) Glad to see everyone's been so active with posting ... it's a big help to have you guys to chat with regularly!

Exhale - I thought the same thing about the 'walking' workouts. I'd never done one before and thought I'd literally be walking/marching in place with maybe a few fancy kicks for the entirety of the 3 miles. I'm also doing Pilates but at home to the TV - I wish I could do a class, but maybe it's best I'm not, as I feel like I'm just rolling around on the floor a lot & probably look pretty silly. How are the points treating you today?

Angelsmom - Day 13 of level 2 already? Awesome! Keep up the amazing progress. :)

novangel - Sorry you're feeling a bit miserable. I know the feeling. :( Hopefully it's an easy TOM and you don't feel too bad. Good for you for working out even through TOM bloat!

Philly - Has the temperature dropped any yet? Hope your headache has gone away by now. :) Happy hump day to you as well!

I've had a good morning so far. Did 40 minutes of a Pilates workout and it was just a small amount easier than when I did it last time. Hopefully the trend continues. I also made a pretty yummy smoothie for breakfast - peach oatmeal, frozen peaches & NF vanilla yogurt. Half of it made me full for only 164 calories! I also weighed myself this morning & am at a new low (193.4!) Hoping to get out of those 190s pretty soon.

Off to prepare for work - I've got a 'curriculum night' tonight (basically a spring version of back to school night) and am getting so nervous about it. Hate speaking in front of people!

Enjoy your Wednesdays, ladies! :)

04-18-2012, 12:41 PM
Happy Hump Day !

It's not as sunny today as yesterday, but still a bit too warm for my tastes. Points are OK, I've got lots of greens in my fridge and that's good.

ak, if you can find a certified instructor, it would be good to take a class. The classes I've taken have been very controlled with the instructor giving corrections, so you get an idea of how you should be doing the movements. Remember that everything should be controlled; small movement done properly is what you're looking for; big movements not done correctly aren't good....
You'll do great today at you meeting...don't sweat it....

All you dvd warrior princesses - keep up the good work !

Have a great day all :carrot:

04-18-2012, 04:15 PM
Thanks for the vote of confidence, Exhale, it's much appreciated. :) Good luck with all those greens! Very healthy. Also, thanks for the advice on small, controlled movements. The 2 times I've done the Pilates workout I've struggled to do as many reps of the stretches that the instructor does without thinking too much about form/posture, etc. I think next time I do it I will focus more on quality over quantity, even if I can do only half of what she does at least they will be small & controlled and be more beneficial.

How do you split up the Pilates/walking workouts throughout the week?

04-18-2012, 04:42 PM
Hi ak, I get in a Pilates session about 3 times a week. I've been doing classes, which I'm going to cut back to once or twice a week to get me working independently. So far, I've done the walking dvd once, I'd like to get that in twice a week and then something else on the other days. What, I dunno :)

Check out 'Pilates on fifth' on youtube. They have really good instructional uploads. Form/posture is everything - which is why jumping around during the walking dvd's is kinda liberating ;)

04-18-2012, 05:21 PM
Ak- don't worry about the meeting you'll do great. Congrats on the weight loss and I'm sure you'll be out of the 190's in no time! :)

Keep moving everyone, and stay OP :carrot:

04-18-2012, 11:54 PM
Good Evening!
I've been so busy today. I'm glad to see lots of thread activity.

Exhale, I had that channel in my subscriptions. I'll have to check it out.

ak812, the temperature has dropped drastically. These sudden changes are murder on my sinuses though. I walked around my home this morning and my eyes were watering. Just a few minutes ago I had a sneezing attack. No headache though so that's something.

novangel, I hope you're not on that hormonal rollercoaster.

angel, how are you today?

bunneh, hope all is well.

Today was an early day for me. I was at work by 7am so I am beat now. I'm off to bed and looking forward to only two more days of work.

Till tomorrow!

04-19-2012, 02:23 AM
Philly, so far I'm ok this month. I really think all of this exercise has done wonders for me mentally as well as physical. Of course with TOM approaching I'm a little more lethargic (to be expected) so I did level 1 tonight and it still kicked my butt!! I don't know what it is but she just kills me and it never seems to get easy...but that's good. ;)

I'm miserable because I am SO BLOATED. Ugh, I want to be a man in my next life.

See ya tomorrow.

04-19-2012, 09:17 AM
Hello ladies,

Philly: I'm great thanx for asking! Hope your sinuses gets better. :)

L2D14 done! I felt a little tired today and didn't give it my best :(
I need to push harder tomorrow :carrot:

Good luck girls

04-19-2012, 05:01 PM
Happy Thursday to everyone! Weekend's almost here, finally. :)

Exhale - Thank you for the YouTube channel recommendation. It will definitely help me with the Pilates form & structure. I don't know if I will stick to Pilates long-term though. I tried it as something to get me back into working out, but not sure it is exactly for me. I may eventually replace it with something else - no idea what though! How did those greens work out for you? If you've got any healthy recipe recs I'd love to hear them. :)

Angelsmom - Thanks for the encouragement! Bummer that you're feeling kind of tired today. End of the week blues? We're almost there! I'm impressed that you push yourself to do workouts even when not feeling at 100% ... I'm way more inclined to say "Oh well, not feeling great, I deserve a rest." Seriously, good for you.

PhillyGirl - Can't believe you had such an early day at work yesterday! Hope today wasn't the same & you've been able to get some rest.

novangel - lol, I want to be a man in my next life, too! Good to know that the exercise has helped improve your overall mood, though. It's nice to feel so good after a workout! :)

I haven't exercised yet today as I had an early dentist appointment this morning - had to get the first of several small cavities filled! :( Before this morning, the last time I had a filling was when I was 5 or 6 years old, so I was SUPER nervous but the process was fast, easy, and completely painless. Dentist & staff were nice and really put me at ease. I'm going to try to get in a 30 minute Kendra Kemerley walking workout On Demand tonight after work, although not sure I will have time because I'm making oven-fried honey chicken & broccoli for dinner. Maybe I can squeeze it in while chicken's cooking?

Off to take a lunchtime walk - hope everyone's having a wonderful day! :)

04-19-2012, 06:13 PM
Ak- thank god weekend is almost here and I can relax a little! Glad your dentist appointment was pain free :D I dislike going to the dentist even if im just taking my kid. A walk before lunch would do you good and you'll be glad you did it. I like to do my exercisises as soon as I'm up tp get them out of the way, I'll just make excuses later! That oven fried chicken sounds delicious, enjoy and have a nice day :)

04-19-2012, 07:57 PM
Hope everyone had a good day :)
I was on slow mode today. Got in some walking, but that's about it for today for me.

Philly, I think you'll enjoy Pilates on fifth
ak, have so say I'm not much into cooking complex things. Moroccan Lentil Soup from the Happy Herbivore website came out great. I like Indian food and I'll probably be trying the red dahl next. I got the Everyday Happy Herbivore book and the recipies are nice and simple; few ingredients, lots of herbs and spices.

Everyone have a lovely evening...and tomorrow's FRIDAY :)

04-20-2012, 02:17 AM
Going back to level 1 the past two days and I am way more sore. I dunno guys I am considering flip flopping levels to cover more bases. Can't hurt. Or my other solution is doing both 1 and 2 back to back in the same night. :/

Goodnight.

04-20-2012, 10:32 AM
TGIF....been looking forward to it allllll week...lol!

Gabi, what do you think of doing 3ds every other day and doing something else in between workouts? I dunno, to me too much excess soreness is counterproductive.

I went food shopping last night and got some good stuff at the market. However, carrying all those bags through the parking lot and up 3 levels of steps was not fun. I woke up super stiff. I guess I actually did get in a workout yesterday.

I hope everyone has a fab day!

04-20-2012, 04:33 PM
The fact that level 1 makes me more sore tells me it works better...at least in my case. I have yet to see how level 3 goes. When it gets warmer out I will spend a day or two outside jogging/running. I have zero interest in doing anything else. I'm addicted to Jill. ;) I am going to start alternating levels though to change what muscles I'm working, and the intensity.

04-20-2012, 04:40 PM
Call me strange but I like being sore. :) I just work right through it and after a few days I'm fine.

04-20-2012, 05:08 PM
Hello ladies

L2D15 done! It's getting easier :carrot: I'll be moving to level 3 in a few days.
Novangel don't do them back to back you'll overtrain your muscles and cause them to bulk. I noticed my arms are getting a little bulkier but firm, so I'll stop using heavier dumbbells.
Have a nice day or night!

Happy weekend to everyone, we made it through another week! :carrot:

Angelsmom - The oven fried chicken turned out really yummy & even satisfied the picky eater boyfriend! I highly recommend the recipe (although I substituted apple cider vinegar for the balsamic that's recommended.) So glad L2 is getting easier for you - can't believe you've done 15 days of it already! Good going! Looking forward to hearing how L3 treats you.

novangel - I agree with Angelsmom, my instinct is to say don't do L1 & L2 back to back, it sounds really intense. You know your body best, though, so it's ultimately your decision! Sounds like you're on a good plan of alternating levels - I'd stick with that & avoid the doubling up. Good luck with the running/jogging when the weather's warmer - I'm excited to see how that goes for you. :)

Exhale - I haven't tried a lot of Indian food but what I've had I've really enjoyed. I'd love to hear about your experiments with Indian food recipes and see if you recommend any.

PhillyGirl - Carrying groceries, especially up stairs, can be a big workout! Hope you get to make some yummy recipes out of everything you got. :)

Today was kind of an up and down day for me. Started out great with me weighing in at 192.2, but then had to go to the doctor & weighed 198.0 on their scale. However, I had JUST eaten a fairly large breakfast, I was wearing a heavy sweatshirt, jeans, and new workout sneakers, and my hair was wet from showering. Any chance that can make up the 5.8lb difference, or do you think my scale at home is just off? Really discouraged me to think I'm actually not as low as I thought I was, but I just keep telling myself that as long as the scale I have is going DOWN I am losing weight.

After work I started to do my walking workout but got SO frustrated that I couldn't replicate Kendra's moves exactly. After several times of rewinding to try and get it right I literally just sat down on the floor and burst into tears. I know this is almost 99% due to TOM arriving in a few days and 1% due to the fact that I was tired and hungry, but it was just so upsetting, combined with the weight discrepancy of this morning. Luckily, the boyfriend was very supportive and convinced me to keep doing the workout. His advice was to just move/jump around if I encountered a move I just couldn't do & even if I don't do it 'right' at least I am moving around and keeping my heart rate up. I was glad he pushed me to keep doing it because it got a lot easier and I finished the whole 30 minutes.

Hope everyone's weeks have ended on high notes! Keep moving! :D

04-21-2012, 01:42 AM
Jillian is done and normally tomorrow (Saturdays) are my rest day...I'm glad because my knees are kind of hurting. I also wish TOM would hurry the heck up and start so I can get it over with. I am SOOOO bloated and miserable. :(

See everyone Sunday night! :carrot:

04-21-2012, 02:13 AM
I'm also disappointed to admit that I have let my guard down a bit with food lately. I indulged in Mexican food a few times. :o Hopefully I didn't ruin 2 months of hard work..it's hard not to worry when I am feeling this bloated from PMS right now. I'm terrified of the scale and probably won't go anywhere near it for a while. *sigh*

04-21-2012, 11:43 AM
Ak- clothes, shoes and wet hair could probably weigh around 5 lbs. It doesn't matter if your scale is right or not as long as the numbers are going down! :) Dont be discouraged if you can't replicate the moves, just keep moving around like your BF said. Your on the right track, keep it up, you WILL get to your goal and nothing will stop you

L2D16 done! I've lost an inch from my waist, not as much as I was hoping..
At least I'm losing, right?

Keep moving ladies

04-21-2012, 05:10 PM
HI everybody :)
What a great day. Pilates class was tough (ha ha!) I feel completely worked out. Then I walked around the shops a bit, bought a kitchen clock and some of those little felt circles for my chair legs.

angel, I too, am a fan of the Mexican cuisine...but remember all the work you're putting into your exercise. You're building up your muscle and metabolism, so even if you get a hit on the scale you haven't really 'undone' anything...it just won't show yet.

ak I haven't really made any Indian food that tastes like Indian food, but that Moroccan dish I referenced earlier came out really good and you can get it on the website. You can find it under recipies by ingredient: garam masala. I realized when I made it that you really need what I think is a LOT of spice to get a decent taste in that type of dish.

Everyone is doing so well...keep up the good work :)

04-21-2012, 06:55 PM
Happy Saturday!

Wow, you ladies have been chatty.

novangel, try not to beat yourself up over the food. I seriously doubt you messed up your hard work, but you may have bloat from the sodium. You probably can't help it during tom, but try to get as back on track as you can. I would add in extra water.

ak812, your bf is the best! I was thinking the same thing for you to do. For cardio only workouts I most definitely will do another move if I'm having trouble until they move on. I remember doing Cathe Friedrich's basic step workout. I was doing a move "my way" for a while. I don't know how it happened, but I realized I was doing it wrong the whole time. I really did have a good laugh to myself over it. So sorry you are having hormonal issues, but my weight is different at home then at the doctor's office. I don't put too much stock in it. I do tell them what I weigh at home just for my own peace of mind.

angelsmom, yeah for the inch lost!

I went to the wholestore place to pick up a bulk box of tilapia and more So Delicious Coconut Milk bars from whole foods and I am good on those items for a while. It's almost 6pm and I plan to do the first workout from les mills body pump. I just ate so I have to wait a couple of hours.

I was watching freezerburnsdotcom (http://www.idealcoaching.tv/video-samples.html)on youtube and the host posted a story about this guy who ordered 1,000 extra strips of bacon on his cheeseburger. Another story was a mug made out of bacon and filled with melted cheese. The first bacon thing is just gross. The second is creative, but still gross too. Give it a look.

04-22-2012, 12:13 PM
Well...it's Sunday which means back to Jillian tonight.

I have to keep reminding myself that I have only been at this since the end of February and didn't really get going until March. So 2 months. It feel like it's been 6 months. I am starting to lose patience. I just want want my goal completed, and love handles to be completely gone already so I can just worry about maintenence.

04-22-2012, 12:20 PM
Philly, I don't get the bacon obsession. I mean it's good and all but I can only stand about 3-4 slices max before I feel sick. I don't eat it often.

My obsession is Mexican, BBQ anything, and red meat. I could eat that everyday. I don't care about chocolate, sugar, or junk. I was never a binge eater, just an average over eater but didn't have a weight problem until after pregnancy. Damn kids. :p

04-22-2012, 12:44 PM
exhale- glad your having a good day :)
Philly - thanks! I think I will never eat a cheeseburger again

L2D17 done, 13 days left :woohoo:
I decided I'll be doing JM body revolution after this but, I'll be doing 2 weeks from each phase since I'll only have 6 weeks before I travel. I think I'll still see results, we'll see.
Have a nice day or night :)

04-22-2012, 12:49 PM
Novangel- I know how you feel, it feels like a year for me even though I started my weight loss journey at the beginning of march! Dont give up we will get there. :carrot:

04-22-2012, 05:09 PM
Hi guys. It's cold and rainy here today. I woke up feeling completely worked out from yesterday's class, but strangely enough I wanted to 'stir the pot' again and went to the gym (last month of commitment) and did heavy legs (leg presses and extensions) with a really quick walk/jog until I had jelly legs then stretched for about a half hour. It felt really good.

Angelsmom & Novangel keep up the good work. I know it seems as though we should get to where we want to be by now, but we are always going to be striving in this health/weight department; either to lose, or to maintain - once we're where we want to be. Then there's always going to be a little something to tweak ! So it's like every day is maintenance in the sense that we're staying on track (or trying to:o).

KEEP IT UP.......... :) :carrot:

04-22-2012, 05:32 PM
The rain here is putting me to sleep. I'm such a baby with the rain. But, I did my first body pump from Les Mills Body Pump by beachbody today. It was interesting because I never used a barbell before. I like weights much better than crazy cardio/strength moves so this may suit me better. On myfitnesspal I reached out to a member who is in a small class on that site that lift heavy weight with very little cardio. She lost quite a bit of weight since January. Not to say I'm following, but I always knew that weight work should be a main consideration when trying to lose fat.

I'm exploring comcast on demand exercise tv right now. Before body pump I did the 1-mile walk which was awesome. I am pleasantly surprised and works me out much better than Leslie's workouts. She incorporates lots of upper body and not the usual 4 leg moves that Leslie does. I found them worthy enough for taping.

If anyone else has Comcast I recommend checking out the exercise channel.

04-22-2012, 07:31 PM
Hey Philly, glad you enjoyed your work-out today. When I was on my way to the gym, I was thinking of what I would do and the thought of the elliptical made me want to go back home....so I told myself that I wouldn't act on any pre-conceived notion of what I should do. I got in a good workout that I enjoyed and I pushed myself and I'm feeling good about it now and actually looking forward to balancing it out with something move 'moving around' tomorrow - maybe one of Leslie's walks.

I think it's going to be a cool and rainy week...

04-22-2012, 08:46 PM
I knowwww.....I saw the weather.com forecast....ughh! I'm not looking forward to it.

Have you ever used voice guided workouts like cardio coach or itrain? There are others out there, but I refer to these because I've used them. They really push you in using cardio equipment. I REALLY recommend voice guided programs to give a fresh outlook into gym/home equipment workouts.

04-22-2012, 11:08 PM
I never thought about Comcast On Demand! Good call, Philly! :carrot:

I'm gonna take it easy tonight...not feeling up to much I am cramping pretty bad. Sorry TMI.

04-23-2012, 12:55 AM
Even though the weekend has come to an end, I'm looking forward to the healthy, active & productive week ahead with all of you! :D

novangel - I'm right there with you! TOM has arrived (4 days EARLY at that, blech) and I am crampy, nauseous & miserable. Rest up, take some Advil & start feeling better soon. Also, don't get discouraged about not getting to that goal fast enough - you are on SUCH a good track and I am very proud of you. Remember that a few indulgences will not ruin 2 months of good hard work, which you have surely been doing. Once TOM has eased up just get right back to it! I'm here for you. :)

PhillyGirl - Comcast On Demand is amazing! Between that and all of the free stuff online I don't know if I will even have to buy any workout DVDs. Maybe eventually I'll purchase a Jillian Michaels but On Demand has got some of everything & I'm content with it right now. Have you tried out any of the walking workouts? I'm in love with Kendra Kemerley's 3-mile one right now. I've only tried that and the weight-loss Pilates but think I will stick with those (maybe add in some yoga) until they get replaced. What have you discovered On Demand so far? Also, those bacon stories were priceless! A mug made of bacon? Creative, I'll say that much. ;) Good luck with the body pump workout, looking forward to hearing how it goes for you. And try not to let the weather get you down too much, summer is right around the corner!

Exhale - Glad you were able to enjoy your time at the gym - actually enjoying exercise is always a nice surprise to me. Sounds like you had a GREAT exercise day today - very inspiring!

Angelsmom - Thank you for the support, it really means a lot to me & helps me keep going on days I just think I will never reach my goal. Congrats on the inch lost, you are one step closer to where you want to be! And look at you almost done with 30 day shred! Best of luck with Body Revolution, I know you'll rock it.

It's been a decently active weekend on my end! Both yesterday and today my bf and I went for a 90 minute walk to and from some botanical gardens near our apartment, and I did the 3 mile walking workout On Demand. I've decided that on the weekdays I will not 'eat back' the calories I gain from exercise but I will on the weekends, as a kind of flexibility in my plan. This way it's not like I'm 'indulging,' I'm just eating what I've earned.

Also went grocery shopping today and restocked on healthy ingredients for the week's meals - starting tomorrow with shrimp scampi and roasted asparagus!

Wishing you all a wonderful start to the week.

04-23-2012, 07:33 AM

Ak- good job on getting a workout in the weekends, it's a little hard for me since my kids and husband are home :tired: eating the calories you lose during a weekend is actually a good idea, that way it will be easier for you to stay OP :)

L2D18 done! :woohoo:

Keep up the good work ladies :carrot:

04-23-2012, 10:40 AM
Thanks AK I'm here for you too!! :)

Holy crapoli ladies, I got up this morning and I am literally swimming in my work scrub pants!!! I have no idea how that happened considering I am right in the middle of TOM but I can't wait to check the scale in a few days! :woohoo:

I'm off to profess my love to Jillian on Facebook.

Have a great Monday, everyone. :carrot:

04-23-2012, 04:12 PM
ak812, I tapped a couple of yoga workouts from shiva rea and a pilates class by tonya nettles. You missed my earlier post. Yes I like and tapped the 3 walk workouts by her. I have a dvd recorder with a hard drive. I love this thing. I have lots of stuff on the hard drive, but I can record to a dvd if I want. I think there are good options on-demand, but for a more serious cardio workout you have to look elsewhere.

novangle, yay for the loose clothes! I told ya even though the scale wasn't moving that other positive things are happening.

I feel a bit blah. I took a few days off from work, but I was determined to not sleep the day away. I got up later than I wanted, but I did get some laundry done. Today is a cardio day for me which will be done later.

04-23-2012, 07:52 PM
its quiet in here today

04-24-2012, 12:58 AM
I'm still here. Got Jillian done a little while ago and did great with food today.

Keep movin' everyone :carrot:

04-24-2012, 07:10 AM
C25k day 1

30 minutes Yoga (with Sylvie Tremblay)

C25k day 2

I am 27, mom of 1 and 4 months pregnant with #2 so my workouts are fairly light :)

04-24-2012, 10:10 AM
Morning everyone :coffee2: Welcome sacha :)

Just checking in. Was feeling great yesterday after my back-to-back workouts - like I used to before I feel off the wagon. And the good thing is that I felt refreshed after the workouts, yet still got in enough to feel them the next day....so we're going in the right direction.

novangel, congrats on the swimming :)
philly, hope you're feeling better today...enjoy the sunshine :)

Everybody have a great day....

04-24-2012, 03:08 PM
Hello ladies,

Welcome sacha

Everyone is doing a good job, keep it up. :carrot:

L2D19 done, I'll be doing level 3 tomorrow! Wish me luck. I also dropped a pound :D

04-25-2012, 01:31 AM
Still going strong! :) Gonna weigh-in in a few days.

04-25-2012, 05:40 AM
L3D20 ok that was no joke! :tired: I felt like dying.

Good luck everyone

04-25-2012, 03:37 PM
Hello, everyone! Glad to see you're all doing so well. The first half of this week has gone so slooooow. My co-teacher has been sick for the past 2 days so it's just me and the kiddos here at school. They're driving me a little nuts & I'm just counting down the days again until the weekend. Feel like I spend so much time looking forward to those precious weekends.

I've also felt a little discouraged weight-wise these past few days. I had been at 191.2 and for 3-4 days I've stayed completely stuck at 192.4. It's the tail end of TOM so that may account for it, but it's so close to over that I feel like it shouldn't make a difference. Just have to keep reminding myself that staying on plan, eating healthy and exercising is good for its own sake, even if the number on the scale is not necessarily budging right now. :( Hard not to get bummed though!

Will continue w/ personal responses during my break later - have to go rescue the teacher who's with the kids! :)

04-25-2012, 05:46 PM
AK, take pictures of yourself so you can see the progress.

Angel, I figured level 3 is god awful I'm not looking forward to it.

04-25-2012, 05:47 PM
Angelsmom - Congrats to you on the lost pound! That's always a good feeling. :) Proud of you! You are so dedicated to the 30 DS, too. I love coming on here & seeing another day done for you. Keep up the hard work!

novangel - Good luck with the weigh-in and keep going - you're on a fantastic track.

PhillyGirl - Hope you have enjoyed the days off & good for you for being productive even on a day off. You've been quiet the past couple of days, hope everything is going well! :)

Exhale - How is WW treating you? So happy to hear you were feeling so great! Very good news.

sacha - Welcome to the thread! So glad to have you here. How are the workouts treating you? And congrats on baby #2!

04-25-2012, 07:35 PM
Sorry for the posting spree, ladies, but I am having a HARD time with food today. I'm still under calorie goal but only have 341 left for dinner. Damn, working in a school is hard - always treats to be had! I had a cheddar cornbread muffin this morning and then 2 oatmeal cookies this afternoon which has really added on to the calorie count for today. Looks like it will be salad & baby carrots for dinner for me tonight! Hope everyone else is having better luck than I am today.

04-25-2012, 08:42 PM
:coffee2: Hi everyone, hope you've had a good day. I was out all day yesterday with a friend....we must have put in a ton of miles during our day together and I slept like a rock last night and woke up happy :)

So, ak, about WW :?: I really like the program, but the food monster has snuck up upon me :o I don't know what it is, so... I'm (1) switching over to their 'simply filling' method, where you track only foods that are not whole, natural foods. This will knock out the damaging bad stuff I've been sneaking in. (2) Getting on the scale every AM - this worked for my 1st 15 pounds, and (3) cut back on my lb. loss goal; the other number was too high and that messed with my head.

I am, again, totally optimistic that I am going to get this right and build on the habits that I need to get and stay healthy.

Thank's for asking :)

Have a good evening everybody :)

04-25-2012, 10:35 PM
Hey ladies!
Glad to see lots of activity. I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 days off of work. Kinda wished I took the whole week. I made a yummy brewed iced tea from urbanetea. I also made bran muffins for the first time and they are very good. I tend to not like bran muffins because they are dense, but my version is quite good. I was supposed to do cardio today but was extremely tired and didn't feel like it. Not sure about why I was so tired. I'm in bed early so I can get a good nights sleep. I want to do a morning workout.

Have a great evening everybody!

04-26-2012, 12:38 AM
AK, I screw up with food sometimes too, don't fret about it just get back on track tomorrow. It's hard not to feel guilt though, I totally understand.

TOM is almost over so I was back to level 2 again tonight. It's a doozy still..sweat pouring everywhere. :dizzy: I finally invested in a sports bra today and that's makes things a lot more comfortable.

See everyone tomorrow.

04-26-2012, 12:48 AM
I had to look back on our old thread because I forgot when I officially started Jillian. Feb 15th....so not as long as it seems. Feels like forever already but I think I have made some decent progress for a little over 2 months. Can't really complain but I am still impatient. :p

04-26-2012, 12:12 PM
Hi everyone,
Just checking in.
Went back to the bulldog.
Off to make a smoothie and get my laundry done.....have a great day.

04-26-2012, 07:24 PM
hello ladies,

ak- everyone messes up im sure, yesterday i ate about 1900 cal :D but everyday is a new day, stay strong!
novangel- honestly your abs look great! have patience :) have you lost any weight yet? inches lost? id love to know, it will give me something to look for at the end of shred.
exhale- i really hate laundry  you can do it, stay healthy!
philly- i would love a 3 day off from house work, really need a vacation :tired:

So i was really busy yesterday and couldnt check in, but i did L2D21 and my knees are popping! had this happened to anyone ? maybe i need a break from exercising :?: ... Well i dropped another pound so im hapy for that!

good luck everyone! :carrot:

04-26-2012, 09:11 PM
Angel, OMG I lost massive inches. I wish I still had a pic from Jan early Feb to give you a better idea..The one I have posted was already several weeks into Jillian. I'm so pissed I erased my official "start" photo by accident. I don't think I will ever get over it.

As far as pounds lost I have to get on the scale again in a few days. My weight was all over the place but I have only gotten smaller in size since the beginning so I guess that's all that matters.

Off to do Jillian L2 again in a few. Have a nice night, everyone.

04-27-2012, 07:37 AM
Novangel- I'm so happy for you! I hope I'll have good results too. I did notice my pants getting looser than before the shred, so maybe I'm loosing some inches too ( fingers crossed) I only have 9 days left.

I won't be doing 30D shred today, I'm sooo busy and I'm really upset cuz I can't get the exercise in. I guess it will be good for my knees to take a break.
Good luck ladies and stay OP :)

04-27-2012, 08:59 AM
Good morning all :coffee2: You ladies are doing Great! I haven't had the knee popping issue...mine tend to just whine every now and then

Feeling optimistic about my success today.

I've started a 30-day yoga challenge. I got an unlimited class card at a studio that, although not in my neighborhood is very easy to get to and has a great calming vibe. It's not exhausting enough to screw up my Pilates classes, and NOTHING says cut out the junk food better than having your bellyjelly staring at you during shoulder stand. Had a very nice class last night.

Happy Friday

04-27-2012, 11:49 AM

I guess I shouldn't be so excited especially since I was off for 3 days...lol

Exhale, that shoulder stand belly remark was too funny. Do you check out livingsocial and groupon for deals in your area? I bought three different ones...one is 10 boxing classes (a real one complete with a ring)..one is a rowing studio...and one if 90 days to a gym. The deal was for less than individual classes.

angelsmom, I wouldn't sweat it too much. You've been doing good and yes your knees probably welcome the break.

ak, temptation is everywhere! resist those treats and keep your eye on the prize.

novangel, I didn't know you were in the market. If you want a deal check out Kohl's (http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/landingpages/kohlscares/womenscausemerchandise.jsp). I bought 4 sports bras. You did better this go around with tom....yay!

I've been hanging out on facebook on the Les Mills exercise thread. They are super encouraging...I love it! I never really used the facebook app on my phone, but I do now. People were posting and all pumped up this morning that it encouraged me to get my butt out of bed and get my workout in. I'm very proud of myself for tackling that little demon.

I'm off to catch up on backlog work. Have a great day everyone!!

04-27-2012, 03:16 PM
Jillian's workouts are on sale on amazon if you are wanting to try her other stuff. I'm not sure about other workouts.

Amazon-Jillian Michael Workouts on sale (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=tsm_1_fb_s_dvd_m33y28?ie=UTF8&rh=n%3A2625373011%2Cn%3A!2901003011%2Cn%3A!2901007 011%2Cn%3A2921749011%2Cn%3A672573011%2Cp_n_theme_b rowse-bin%3A2662338011&page=1&bbn=672573011)

04-27-2012, 04:04 PM
Hey Philly, thanks for the suggestion. This deal I got directly from the studio...they do nice things like that from time to time. But I will check out the sources you mentioned, because you've got some fun stuff in the works.

Can't believe my new goal is to look good upside-down! (There's always something...) :)

04-27-2012, 05:48 PM
I'm glad you got a deal, even though its further than you would like to travel. Oh and add google offers to that list.

Has anyone made kale chips? I think I'll try them this weekend.

04-27-2012, 11:02 PM
Happy weekend to you ladies!! Made it through another week, on plan and going strong. Although sadly, I think I may be coming down with the stomach bug that had my co-teacher out for 3 days this week. Came home from work early today feeling very nauseous and just blah. Hoping that an early bedtime tonight and lots of downtime this weekend will knock it out of my system. I plan to spend much of this weekend applying to jobs in actual public schools (my current Pre-K class is in a childcare center) for the fall. I got my teaching credential in college & really want to be working in the exact field I spent all that time (and money!) preparing for. I just hate the application process, though - so many things to fill out!

Exhale - That "food monster" is a sneaky little devil, I have to agree. Especially (at least for me) once I've had one treat/off plan snack, I find it really hard to stop myself. The "simply filling" method sounds like a great way to encourage yourself to eat a better diet in general, and you won't have to worry too much about being hungry - just fill up on those whole, natural foods! Have fun with your yoga challenge - I'm very much looking forward to hearing how it goes for you.

PhillyGirl - Thanks for the heads up on JM's workouts being on sale. I ordered 30DS and Ripped In 30 and they should be here by Tuesday. To be honest, I'm really apprehensive about starting 30DS, because I know how frustrated I get when not able to complete a workout. And from what I hear, 30DS can be INTENSE. We'll see how it goes! btw, Good for you for getting up and doing the Body Pump workout. Don't you love how motivating social networking can be? Enjoy those kale chips this weekend ... I've never heard of them! Can't wait to hear how they turned out. :)

novangel - You've made such awesome progress! Those before and after pics are extremely inspiring - definitely one of the reasons I plan on getting my butt into gear to do 30DS. I know it's hard to be patient regarding seeing results, but you will get to your ultimate goal! Hang in there.

Angelsmom - Hope those knees aren't giving you too much trouble! A break for them was probably a good idea. And another pound lost?! You're on a roll, sister. ;) Keep it up!

Off to have some dinner! Enjoy the start of this wonderful weekend, everyone.

04-28-2012, 12:52 AM
I wound up getting pissy about something last night so I didn't work out but I got L2 done tonight and will try for tomorrow night too. Usually Sat is my night off but I already skipped 2 days this week (once because of TOM) and that doesn't sit well with me. I'm too paranoid when I don't work out...I swear I will gain 5 pounds overnight even though I know rationally that won't happen. I just don't want to fall off the wagon, I have come too far and there is no going back . ;)

See everyone tomorrow or Sunday. Have a great weekend!

Philly, thanks for the link I also have a Kohl's $10 off coupon so I may put that to use. :)

Ak, I hope your aren't getting sick. Maybe just see how you feel tomorrow. If need be then I say totally rest and relax with lots of clear liquids. I'm glad you got some good sale stuff. Oh I hear ripped in 30 is harder than 30day shred.

Novangel, I hope they are good quality. They are brand named so I hope so.

No kale chips. I didn't pick any up at the market. I am going to make my own protein bars though. Anybody ever make them from scratch?

04-28-2012, 09:53 AM
Good morning all :coffee2:

Feeling bloated and totally revved to clean up my act. Recommitment weekend, it is. Yoga, a pot of veggie soup, sauteed mushrooms and maybe some baked chicken. I will feel so much better come Monday morning!

Wishing you a very good weekend. Keep on doing the good work :)

04-28-2012, 12:04 PM
Omg, I am such a moron...I lost a pound. I just looked at my ticker that says 153. Sorry guys the coffee didn't kick in yet. :o Off to change my ticker.

Happy Saturday!

Wow, two people feeling blah is not good. Feel better ladies.

I'm, on the other hand, am feeling quite great. I had yet another realization moment today and recommitted to my program. I think it really helped joining this facebook group. Even though I'm not doing Jillian, those people are great too and I still read and post. The before and after pics on the Les Mills facebook are super encouraging and as Jill says "Why not you?". I'm totally into making it my time. It was probably in the back of my mind with not making something decadent on my break this week. I'm going to make a few meals for the week and keep it super clean. My official 90 day transformation starts on Monday. I've been doing the program this week, but that was mainly to get used to the barbell and work on my form. Using a barbell is very different from dumbbells.

Ok, I'm hungry...off to make something yummy!

04-28-2012, 03:16 PM
Hello ladies :)

Ak- hope you feel better after sone good rest, make sure to eat healthy though!
Novangel- even though it's small but there is a difference, you should have taken measurements. Keep up the good work!
Philly- glad your feeling great, and looks like your on a good plan for the week :)

L3D22 done! My knees feel a little better, guess they just needed a break.
Have a good weekend everyone

04-28-2012, 03:34 PM
Umm...wow! I bought a slab of turkey bacon from the warehouse store and cut it up. Because I don't want to waste calories or overeat, I decided to dust off my scale and weigh out portions. Ok...to my eye the amount of a slice was wayyyyy off compared to what I've been eating. Sadly... weighing, portioning is the only way I'm going to get to my goal. So be it!

04-28-2012, 08:57 PM
There, now I feel better. 3/15 to 4/28 :carrot:

ETA: I really wish I hadn't lost that Feb start photo for comparison. Oh well...life goes on.

I don't know how I missed your post. Novangel, you results are awesome! :bravo:

04-29-2012, 12:56 AM
Thanks!! I kicked butt in March but now it's slower progression the past few weeks. Hopefully May I can kick it into high gear again. I always love the start of a new month it seems to increase my motivation.

L2 done. Goodnight.

04-29-2012, 08:37 AM
Doing great ladies, keep it up! :carrot:

L3D23 done!

04-29-2012, 10:07 AM
C25K day 3 (coming off food poisoning/morning sickness so proud!!)

30 min yoga to do during my boy's nap.

04-29-2012, 10:10 AM
Good morning everyone !

Philly - great energy ! Got me thinking about DAILY RECOMMITMENT. Regardless of what the scale, muscles, joints say...there's a way around it 'cause lots of roads lead to success - just gotta keep moving forward.

Gabi - your sides are way more defined!

Enjoy the day everyone, keep livin' beautiful and healthy.

04-29-2012, 12:26 PM
Doing great ladies, keep it up! :carrot:

L3D23 done!

How much harder is L3? I'm dreading, L2 kills me. :tired:

04-29-2012, 02:26 PM
Thanks for all the well wishes, girls. I'm feeling better & pretty lucky that I escaped with only a couple of days of queasiness that never progressed into a full blown stomach bug. So far ... knock on wood. ;) I have definitely not gotten in as much exercise as I wanted to this week, in part due to crazy schedule changes at work and these past few days because of feeling sick. Ugh! It's so hard for me to get back into it after even a couple of days off plan. Got in a short walk at a nearby park with the boyfriend but nothing more than that really. Today I plan on taking a LONG walk with him & then doing a 60 min cardio workout On Demand. Gotta start kicking back into gear again - the Biggest Loser challenge on this site has begun and the first weigh in is 1 week from today.

novangel - I know exactly what you mean! After 1 day of not exercising I live in FEAR of the scale, feeling like it will shoot right up. But you have done AMAZING, I mean look at those pictures. Seriously, you're really looking incredible. Major props to you!

Exhale - How's the recommitment weekend going? Your plan for yoga & yummy foods sounds really refreshing. And you are SO right ... no matter what the 'results' say (scale, inches, etc.) it is so important to recommit daily and know that those things will follow.

Philly - You're such a cooking/baking wizard - your own protein bars? Sounds impressive AND yummy. Let us know how those turned out! Best of luck to you with starting the Body Pump program. I'm very much looking forward to hearing how it goes. What's the schedule like?

sacha - Good for you for getting that in, even after morning sickness AND food poisoning. Sounds like no fun at all. Keep up the great work!

Angelsmom - So happy to hear that your knees are feeling better. Can't believe you're almost done with 30DS. I'll be starting it very soon & will think of you to remind me that it IS possible to complete. :)

Keep going strong, all!

04-29-2012, 06:11 PM
HI. I'm 'previewing' the Biggest Loser walking dvd while eating 'pepper steak' with tofu substituting for the beef. Really good. And I'm enjoying a defiant little giggle every time Bob says to get off the sofa. I like this walking workout - it's 4 16-minute miles with nice variety & includes weight moves and medicine ball moves (optional, of course). There's also a 'marathon' counter, so you can keep track to see when you've done 26 miles. This one is a keeper.

So I'm 4 for 4 daily yoga classes and feeling good.

Hope you all are having a successful day. :)

04-29-2012, 07:35 PM
Hey Everybody!

It's 6pm and I've cooked 3 meals to have throughout the week. As I sit here and read my energy is leaving. I made turkey meatloaf muffins-got that idea off of bodybuilding.com on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ug_Y454tBiQ&feature=relmfu) . I also made brown stew chicken (http://www.jamaicatravelandculture.com/food_and_drink/brown-stew-chicken.htm) with trader joe's brown rice medley. I've made the brown stew chicken before, but this time I didn't marinate the meat and it still turned out good. Trader Joe's brown rice medley is like the best rice on the planet...lol. I'm not a brown rice lover, but this version is super good. I also made stewed plain chicken with onions n red potato cooked in chicken broth. That was super good. I had it for lunch. So all that needs to be added are veggies, but my meals are mostly done for the week...yay!

I officially start Les Mills Body Pump tomorrow. There's a new group that started so I feel like we will all be on the same page and can better share our experiences. The beginning schedule is 3 body pump days, 2 cardio days and two rest days. During my pre-view week I know better of what weight to use and get a better workout.

ak812-I experiment all the time. Some turn out good, some don't. The protein bars were a colossal failure. I made them at like 1am so that they could have a chance to get firm in the fridge. I adjusted a recipe I found because it was too high calorie and too much fat. That attempt wasn't successful, but you know I'll try again soon.

exhale, I'm glad you like the biggest loser walk and LOL at Bob. Good going on the yoga classes. Umm, I still haven't started doing it yet. I will though because its part of the body pump program.

sacha, glad to see your post! How'd you get food poisoning? How do you like the couch25k program?

angelsmom, I have knee issues too. I started taking triple flex and its been helping. But yeah sometimes you just gotta give them a break.

novangel, you are in that range where Jillian says its the hardest I think. Like the last 10-15 lbs its much harder to lose.

I'm off to relax a bit before returning to cleaning the kitchen. LOL...with that much cooking the cleaning had to be done in stages.

04-29-2012, 10:21 PM
Hey Everybody!
novangel, you are in that range where Jillian says its the hardest I think. Like the last 10-15 lbs its much harder to lose.

Tell me about it!

Ok, i'm getting off the couch now and time to sweat. See everyone tomorrow.

04-30-2012, 09:44 AM
Hello ladies

Ak- back on track good for you! :carrot: keep it up
Philly- I might try that. Like Ak said let us know how the protein bars turn out :D
Exhale- let's say hello to may and start the new month strong! :carrot:
Novangel- level 3 was so hard for me that I couldn't follow all their moves tbh! But after the second time I followed them and it made me sweat like crazy

L3D24 done! 6 more days :woohoo:

Start may strong ladies, we can do it! :carrot:

L3D25 done!

Good luck ladies :)

05-01-2012, 11:25 AM
Happy Tuesday, ladies! I am having a hard time motivating myself to get up and out of bed this morning to get some exercise in. I've been SO sleepy lately & so unwilling to crawl out from under these cozy blankets.

Yesterday I had my boyfriend hide our bathroom scale somewhere in the apartment because I've been getting too unreasonably discouraged when it doesn't go down. It gives me a "well I might as well not even try today" attitude if I get on in the morning and the number's stayed the same or even gone up. I will have him return it only on weekends for the BL challenge weigh-in.

The local pizza place by our apartment has a deal called "Two for Tuesday" and the boyfriend really loves it there so we are having pizza tonight. Better make sure I am LOW on calories for the whole day to save room for it!

Angelsmom - 5 more days! What will you switch to once 30DS is over? Keep rocking it, girl. :)

Philly - So glad you were able to get lots of meal prep done. They sound really yummy, too. How's Body Pump going? I'm happy you've found such an encouraging FB group. Can't wait to hear how you'll kick butt on that program.

Exhale - haha I love thinking of you sitting with your pepper steak & watching the BL DVD. ;) Good to know you seem to like it from the previewing - the walking workout I use On Demand will be taken off this Friday & I will be in need of a new one. May check out the BL one if you think it's a keeper!

Okay, I am off to attempt to get my butt out of this bed. I don't know how successful I will be. Have wonderful days!

05-01-2012, 07:50 PM
I forgot to check in last night, perhaps because last night's work out was a nightmare. Had to keep stopping either to catch my breath, my necklace was pulling on my ipod cord, knees hurt, had to pee, losing balance. Wasn't my most graceful performance.

May 1st!! Let's go! :carrot::carrot:

05-01-2012, 11:29 PM
My knees were killing me last night so I did L1 tonight, still makes me sweat like crazy. :tired:

Tomorrow is supposed to be nice so maybe I can get outside for a long walk, I am so burned out on jumping around in my room.

Bye for now!

05-02-2012, 12:10 AM
Took a shower and looked at myself naked in the mirror. *sigh* I should be excited about it being May 1st but I feel more like it's May 1st and I am still overweight/unhappy with my body. Granted it's better than it was and I can live with it like this but I want better.

This journey blows and it better pay off.

05-02-2012, 09:15 AM
Good morning everyone...

This journey blows and it better pay off. Novangel, I LOVE this. It's like the best thing I've read in a long time.:coffee2: What a great 'signature' :) You are doing great, you know, despite what you think...

I'm not feeling so hot this morning, with creaky joints and my muscles hurt and I have a headache in my face. :( I had class this morning, but not up to it, so I'll take an evening yoga session instead. And aiming for a noon Zumba class, since I haven't tried that yet and I should be feeling better later this morning.

I can't believe I had such a back-slide the past couple of weeks food-wise - taught me that no matter what kind of 'program' I start, it really all lies with me and my motivation. I was so close to losing another 5 and now I'm back to the starting point. But the exercise has been going great now that I decided to do what makes me happy. Had a pilates class yesterday and that went well. The best part of it was that some reformer exercises that I thought were scary because they require upper body strength are OK now. That's huge for me. What I see happening with the pilates and, especially yoga is that I'll make my food choices with my practices in mind because I want to keep improving and can't do that if I'm eating the wrong stuff.

Have a great day everyone.

05-02-2012, 10:44 AM
This journey blows and it better pay off. Novangel, I LOVE this. It's like the best thing I've read in a long time.:coffee2: What a great 'signature' :)

Done!

I see you've lost 15p already since March, that's great! How many calories do you eat a day on average?

05-02-2012, 05:43 PM
Ak- I might start JM body revolution, not sure yet. I wish I could resist not weighing myself everyday but it's too difficult for me.

L3D26 done! Everyone is doing such a great job. Stay strong ladies and get the best results for may! :carrot:

Good luck :)

05-02-2012, 09:21 PM
Done!

I see you've lost 15p already since March, that's great! How many calories do you eat a day on average?

To clarify, the 15p were lost before I joined 3FC, over the course of a couple of months; then when I started focusing on walking more and going to the gym a couple of times a week I probably sealed the deal of keeping those off. I don't know how many calories I eat on average; what I do when I'm doing well is focus on eating produce and cutting out the junk, and then I'm moving in the right direction.

Took my first Zumba class today and it was a blast! Basically went because I have classes left on my card, and they offer lots of Zumba classes and I figured I'd give it a try. Didn't even bring water or a towel with me because I expected to leave early. At one point I checked my watch and we were 15 minutes into the class and I did freak a bit because I was winded and thought 'uh oh', but then I got a grip, made smaller arm movements, and just enjoyed the music and jumping around. I was able to follow some of the routines, and for others I just winged it ;) (I may have done the Snoopy 'happy dance' a couple of times, I don't remember...) By the time we were done I was sweaty, refreshed, and looking forward to next time - With water and towel!

I think I found my cardio.... :carrot:

05-02-2012, 10:16 PM
I lost majority of my weight before joining 3FC also due to a period of very high stress. I have been hanging on to this last 15 (or so) pounds the last 5 years.

I did level 3 tonight for the first time. What. The. Eff. :tired:

05-03-2012, 07:29 AM
Exhale- you're doing great, keep it up!
Novangel- that's exactly what I thought the first time I did it, hang in there it'll get easier ( a bit)

L3D27 done! 3 days left and I'll post results, which I think is not much :D

05-03-2012, 02:18 PM
Hi guys :)

Novangel - those pounds do like to hang around. But that's OK, 'cause once they're gone they are not coming back.
Angelsmom - thanks for the encouragement :)

Home today with a stomach bug. Need to go out to pick up some things from the store but waiting for things to um...settle.

On a forward note, found a studio within walking distance of home where they have Zumba classes. While I love where I'm going now, it is a trek; having a place in the neighborhood would be great. They have a Zumba introduction class, which is interesting as well as deals for new students and a May special...

I was thinking that it will be interesting to see where we'll be at the end of this month, by the summer, etc.

Keep up the good work everyone....

05-03-2012, 05:06 PM
You ladies make me laugh!

Gabi, level 3 was...what? So which level do you prefer? I whisper again...body revolution...lol

angelsmom, its been 30 days already? wow how time flies! and in that time I've stopped and started two different programs...lol

exhale, zumba! you go girl! I've only done it at home. I didn't care for the workout dvd, but the newest xbox 360 game is awesome! It's nice to have options. Although, having options tends to get me into trouble. OMG...I was home yesterday with that. Well Tuesday I took off for R&R and Wednesday was awaken at 3am with the stomach monster. It wasn't pretty.

ak812, body pump is crazy in a different way. Using the barbell is odd, but it makes me feel like a badd (yes I meant the two 'd's') ***. I really do feel pumped when I'm doing it. I turn up the tv kinda loud too cause the music is good and the vibe of the instructors are awesome. Of course they are crazy fit too.

I've been having bad sinus stuff this week. The weather is doing the up and down thing which apparently throws my body off. I'm tired of popping pills though for temporary relief. I'm glad I had food at the ready because I just would have snacked myself into oblivion not wanting to put any energy into my meals. Heck, I barely wanted to clean up the kitchen. I'm going to do turbofire low impact hit 20 when I get home from work. I made it a mp4 last night and watched a little of it.

I hope everyone is having a great day!

05-03-2012, 08:44 PM
I like the whole DVD I just find level 2 to be somewhat annoying for some reason.

My back, butt and thighs are sore today. I haven't felt sore in a while so I know level 3 is working better than 2.

05-03-2012, 11:32 PM
Taking a night off, I am super tired. See everyone tomorrow.. :dizzy:

05-04-2012, 01:27 AM
Hello everyone! Sorry I've been quiet for a couple of days, I've just been trying to survive this week and get to the weekend for 2 days of REST. I've just been so tired lately & really want to sleep in and nap all weekend long.

Had to get up early this morning for a dentist appointment & got 3 cavities filled. I had planned on exercising after work but traffic on the way home was terrible & my mouth was still sore. That, plus a stressful day & mini argument with the bf the second I walked in the door meant no exercise for me tonight. :( I did get a 25 minute walk in during lunch today.

Overall I've been doing pretty well with everything this week. I've taken a walk every day at work this week, drank my full 8 glasses of water, and stayed in (and even under) my calorie goal. I've also done some cardio workouts On Demand and/or a stability ball workout every day this week (except today.) Looking forward to finishing out the week strong tomorrow. Will be weighing myself for the first time in several days & hope to see a new low, but will try not to get too discouraged if I don't.

novangel - I've had those workouts you described - where you just have to keep stopping & then feel like you didn't get quite a good workout because of it. Good for you for soldiering on anyway! You totally deserved the night off tonight - hope you are enjoying it. And I also love your new signature. lol you're too funny

Philly - Aw I hope your sinuses start treating you better very soon. It's such a bummer to have sinus issues - at least for me it just drains all of the energy right from my body and exercising is the last thing I want to do. Sending good, healing thoughts your way. :)

Exhale - Oh no, you're not feeling well, either?! Good thoughts coming your way, too, friend. I've heard so much lately about Zumba & really want to give it a try, especially after reading about how much you love it. Can't wait to hear more when you start doing regular classes.

Angelsmom - So impressed that you're nearly done with 30DS & really looking forward to your results post. You are an inspiration to me. :)

Happy almost weekend to you all!

05-04-2012, 10:48 AM
Philly- try to find the right program for you, hope you feel better :)
Exhale- sorry to hear about the bug, it sucks I know :(
Ak- sometimes your body needs a rest, besides you already took a walk so don't sweat it :)

L3D28 done! I can't wait to finish this I'm getting sick of Jillian

Good luck everyone

05-04-2012, 11:09 AM
Happy Friday All :coffee2:

We had some thunderstorm last night (again). Lightning that lit up the bedroom and cracking rumbling thunder that sounded like it was right outside the window! This morning all's quiet and calm.

I still have a bit of whatever I had yesterday, but determined to get some stuff done today. I need to make a good pot of soup. From scratch. Something nice and warm. I need to clear this up and fortify for my zumba session this weekend - I've been looking forward to it since Wednesday. There's a different teacher on and I want to see how the class will be. I'm so excited to finally have a hobby where I'm not contemplating my navel

ak & philly, hope your feeling better

novangel, you are doing great and your signature makes my day!

Angelsmom, keep up the good work!

Angelsmom - Keep up that hard work! I can only imagine how sick you must be of Jillian right now. I'm going to the post office tomorrow to pick up 30DS and Ripped in 30 and MAY try it out this weekend but not sure. Will keep you updated!

Exhale - So glad to hear you're feeling at least a little bit better. I'm also so JEALOUS of your thunderstorm! Don't get them often here in Seattle, but I'm from the East Coast and always had them in the summer. Love them! Have fun at Zumba this weekend!

sacha - Good to see all that activity you got in, and especially good to see you're recovering from that food poisoning. Keep it up!

krampus - Hello! lol at lifting cheeseburgers to your mouth - sounds like my kind of exercise! Keep up that fantastic work, girl!

I weighed myself this morning and was at 189.0! Haven't weighed myself in several days so it was a nice treat to be out of the 190s. For now, at least. I am going back & forth about whether to weigh myself every day or not. I think it's mentally better for me to do it once a week because then I'm more likely to work hard EVERY DAY to see a good number on the scale on that one day. I'm also less likely to get disappointed by an up fluctuation on a certain day. BUT it drives me crazy not to know the number every day. Oh well, I'll stick to weekly & see how it goes for a few weeks maybe.

Hope everyone is able to get out and move around lots this weekend!

05-04-2012, 04:17 PM
I don't feel too bad about being lazy today and yesterday. Going on a 12 mile mountain hike tomorrow! :D

05-05-2012, 01:07 AM
L3D2 Not too bad. I need to get some new ipod songs though.

I'm having a "fat" day. :( I don't know what I ate but I'm SO bloated...I feel very frustrated right now and worried I gained weight. I didn't eat a lot of calories but still ready to cry. This is so stressful sometimes. I just want this excess weight (all of it) gone already.

05-05-2012, 11:15 AM
Ak- yay for the loss! So happy for you :) keep it up

L3D29 done! And I'll post results :D

Inches lost
Arms: -0.5 each, so -1
Bust: -1
Waist: -2
Upper hip: -2
Lower hip: -2
Upper thighs: -2 each, so -4
Lower thighs: -1 each , so -2
Calf: 0

Weight loss: -9 lbs

Body fat: -3.6 %

Overall it's not bad, my problem area is my thighs and im happy for the loss. I also weighed in 2 lbs less today :)
I'll be taking a break from exercising for a few days my 1 year old is sick and has a high fever.

Good luck to everyone!

05-05-2012, 12:06 PM
Good morning all :coffee2:

Slept really late today; this bug has gotten me drained. I have a yoga workshop - hip openers and spinal twists - later today and determined to go, even if I don't complete the session.

Angelsmon, hope your little one feels better soon. And congrats on your stats!

Novangel, don't cry ! You're doing great. Bloat comes and goes and this will go soon.

Krampus, Hi! Hope you're enjoying your hike. 12 miles :o !

ak, happy bye, bye, to the 190's ! I'm back to daily weighing - it keeps me focused - and I jot down the number on a sticky on my bathroom wall. I've learned to accept little bumps-ups every so often and really like seeing the numbers drop down bit-by-bit.

sacha, hope your feeling better - feel your pain !

Philly, hope your feeling well and having a great weekend :)

05-05-2012, 01:49 PM
Weekend's starting off pretty nicely w/ a weigh-in at 188.8 this morning! Am trying to resist the temptation to weigh again tomorrow, so will probably use this # as my Biggest Loser weigh-in for the week. That means I'm down 2.8lbs from my starting weight!

Not too many plans for the weekend - the bf and I will probably try to take a long walk to the fruit/vegetable stand nearby but that depends on weather. I also want to get in either a cardio or stability workout today. Love the extra time on weekends to exercise! Of course I also have lots of TV shows to catch up on, and a great book to finish. :)

krampus - Hope you're enjoying that hike! Sounds intense. Looking forward to hearing about it when you're back.

novangel - Don't cry, girl! You are doing such a FANTASTIC job and I know it feels at times like the efforts can be futile, but every workout and every day on plan is a step in the right direction. Some days are worse than others but that does NOT mean you won't get to that goal. I have 100% confidence in you & know you will get there. Keep up the hard work & know that we are all here for you.

Angelsmom - Wow! Those results are WAY impressive! Very proud of you. :) Keep up all that hard work, lady. Sorry to hear about the sick baby - hope he or she gets better very soon!

Exhale - Good for you for sleeping in - your body needs that rest after battling that bug. Yoga sounds like a nice relaxing way to build your strength back up. Don't push yourself too hard, too soon though! Thanks for your input on daily weighing - I think I need to learn from you and begin to accept the occasional upswings without letting it detract from my efforts.

Keep moving, everyone, and enjoy this beautiful Saturday!

I decided to torture myself and get on the scale, of course it says I am up a pound because my life is awesome. I haven't eaten over my caloric allowance but from what I have read on this site thus far I would have to eat 3,500 calories in order to gain a "fat pound" correct?

I'm going to chalk it up as water bloat but I want to get clarification on what it takes to gain an actual fat pound..

a couple of thoughts ...

- the mental anguish you're going through is not helping your progression - you'll start to really hate your healthy habits and that's not good.
- if you have 12 pounds to go, even if you lose only 1/2 pound a month you'll have those 12 pounds off in a year's time. And you know it will be quicker than that... So they WILL come off.
- could the weight stall be muscle-related fluid retention from your work-outs?
- take a week off --- no strenuous work-outs, just get in some stretching and fresh air, eat sensibly, and let your body & mind regroup/recoup.
- change the diet....more greens? Less carbs? more lean proteins?

Thanks ladies! :)

Novangel- I would advise you to change some habits. Lower or increase your caloric intake by 800 or so, change the time of your exercise or stop for a few days. I change my routine every 3-4 days, today I ate 1000 cal over my plan. And another thing, you said you've been doing shred for 2 months? Your body probably got use to it, and needs another workout or some rest. Don't give up, you'll loose the weight in time.

05-05-2012, 09:07 PM
Yeah, I've been at Jillian for 2 months but switch up the levels to keep things moving. I just started level 3 so that's definitely something new for my body. I'm for sure not used to it, it's very uncomfortable still...especially 2 and 3. I'm going to continue with 30DS for a few more weeks and then move on to Ripped In 30. If it would hurry up and get warm again (and not rain) I would go back to walking/jogging outside sometimes.

I think I just had too much sodium intake yesterday. I'm not going to stress about it anymore I'm just going to keep on and if I never lose another pound so be it. I'm just happy to have lost the inches I did lose. I was just wondering if it was true that you have to eat 3,500 calories to gain 1 pound. I have read that a few times around here.

On to L3D3. Have a nice night, ladies.

Good morning all :)

I am finally feeling like myself today. Passed on yesterday's plans, though - muscles were tired and lower back achy. Going out later shopping the stores with a friend, so that will be my reintroduction to 'movin' for today.

I'm thinking about taking out a 6-mos membership at a gym not too far away. It's the one where I had the 1-week pass. Now that I've been more active, I see that I do like a variety of things and it would be nice to have 'gym' in my rotation...I could go 2 or 3 times a week and it would be OK.

novangel, you know you are doing excellent with your dedication to your work-outs; you keep at them even though they're tough and it is paying off; even if 'behind the scenes' and not on the scale right now. It's true, from what I've read, that 3,500 excess calories will result in a pound of fat. Honestly, I think I can do that during a 'bad' weekend :?:

Exercise, on the other hand, builds muscle, revs up the metabolism, strengthens bone, keeps blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol in check, and boosts mood, memory, and cognitive function. :carrot::cp::dance::dancer::trampo: And justifies us buying cool looking footwear. (new signature?)

Hope you all have a great day...

OK, super annoyed right now. I'd written a post and the site did this refresh thing and my post is gone.

I've been super busy this weekend. Shopping, laundry, meal prep and reorganizing and cleaning the kitchen at this very moment. My workout program is going great. It's strenuous, but somewhat fun. It's a totally different experience from anything I've ever done. Working with a barbell makes me feel like a bada$$ and strong. Now, if I could master those wicked lunges it would be better. I even did the yoga and ab workouts in the program, can you believe that?

Break is over...back to kitchen reorganizing. I will post later to group posts.

Jillian done, off to watch a movie. :)

Hello ladies

Just checking in. Thank you for the good wishes, my boy is getting a little better thank god :)
Hope everyone is doing great, keep up the good work.

Good Morning and HAPPY MONDAY!!

I had a great night sleep probably as a result of my massive cleanup kitchen job yesterday. My food is prepped for the day and its all healthy, wholesome and good. Make it a great day everyone!

05-07-2012, 11:18 AM
Yup, HAPPY Monday and make it a great week. Keep the Focus !

Here's my May so far:
5/1: 1 hr Pilates
5/2: 1 hr Zumba, 1 hr yoga
5/6: 3 hrs of mall walking
5/7: 1 hr Zumba - this class was different than the first - more of a boot-camp feel with boxing moves and big off-the ground jumps. I just kept up the best I could. Major butt kick :)

Hey guys, hope you're having a good Tuesday....where's everyone? We almost slipped to page 2 :o

Today's a rest day. Tomorrow's Zumba:cp:
I also decided to not include my 15-pound loss on my ticker, but adjust my starting weight to where I've recently been...the reason being that I find myself resting on my laurels a bit. You know, 'I've already lost 15 pounds so I don't need to push it....' But those 15 pounds are history and the 22 I need to drop are the present. I don't want to entertain the possibility of any of them coming back...

05-08-2012, 05:25 PM
Hey there, I'm still alive just really busy with my kids :D
Your doing great exhale, working out almost everyday :carrot:. I still haven't gotten any exercise in for a few days now, but I will start on Saturday.
Hope everyone is OP :)

05-08-2012, 09:53 PM
I didn't work out last night I figured I needed to give it a rest, my shins were starting to ache.

ETA: Nothing tonight either I will get back to it tomorrow.

05-09-2012, 12:14 AM
I felt like I was coming down with something. I was super tired and stayed home today for a rest and relaxation day. Seems to be the running theme of at least one day home a week for like a month now. I just wish they'd let me work from home and I'd be super happy!

I tried shiratake noodles today and didn't like them. I followed the hungry girl prep recommendations, but they taste rubbery to me. At least I try new things right?

Today's workout was Les Mills-Pump n Burn. This is week 2 and this is a new workout for me. I'm still loving this program. I'm down 3lbs, but I won't get too cocky with that because that can come and go.

Hump Day tomorrow and its said to be rainy with thunderstorms here....lovely

05-09-2012, 10:05 AM
Philly- hope you feel better. Have you stopped body revolution? Congrats on the loss! :woohoo: keep it up!

Stay strong ladies :)

05-09-2012, 10:50 AM
I'm off work today. First walk/jog outside for at least 30 minutes, then I will walk around the huge local mall (of course shop as well ) and then Jill tonight.

I took 2 days off in effort to kick start again. I'm stuck in a plateau I believe.

05-09-2012, 02:47 PM
So I waited to get errands done first before jogging outside and now it's raining. I knew I should've done it first thing.

Jillian it is. I will attempt outdoor again Friday since I have the day off (not that I really want it, I need the money but my boss will be out of town) and my son will be in school.

Take care, ladies.

05-09-2012, 05:38 PM
Novangel- hope you get that walk on Friday. I am in desperate need for shopping, my clothes are all too loose but I want to wait till the end of the month to lose more pounds hopefully

05-09-2012, 08:51 PM
I just did level 1 and 3 back to back. Um.....wow...that's gonna hurt in the morning.

G' night, Ladies!

05-09-2012, 09:13 PM
Overslept & missed Zumba. I'm seeing that I can't keep up both exercise and eating clean. Too much fat & salt in the diet, too much take out. Need to clean out my kitchen and restart. That's for tomorrow. I'll play some Salsa music while I'm at it.

I need to buy some new stuff, too, but I also want to wait until I'm closer to 'goal'. The things I have now that may fit me better physically don't really fit who I feel I am now. But I'll make do and keep it movin.

Have a good night...

05-09-2012, 10:35 PM
I hear ya on the salt, Exhale. I snap about twice a week and eat Mexican. I CAN'T resist. I'm a fan of Chinese too but I gave it up. I am not a binge eater and I will avoid everything; fast food, fries, pop, ice cream, chocolate, cake, pasta, donuts..whatever. I have even stopped going out to restaurants as much but I flat out refuse to give up Steak Fajitas. End of story. I just skip the cheese and sour cream.

Oh man now I'm starving... :/

05-09-2012, 11:42 PM
Ok, my old signature showed up for some odd reason in a previous post. But, that post was from me.

Regarding food....I've not given up much, but I've found healthier alternatives. I still absolutely eat steak fajitas if I make them myself. I will splurge on sweets because I enjoy them. I have reined in on the serving sizes and ingredients. Some things I've not found an equivalent for like fried chicken that's baked, but is passable and not fattening. Fries, I love nathan's jumbo that you get in the supermarket. I bake them with spices on and they are delish. No getting around pastries, but I try. Like a apple topped with almond meal and then baked (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDJQQHveVyA&feature=g-user-u). I saw that on youtube so will try it this weekend. It was topped with Truwhip from Whole Foods. Of course I picked some up on my Whole Foods trip. I still eat pizza, if I make it. I get so much more than a little lonely slice or a ellios square. This summer I will be getting into making my own popsickles.

Tonights workout was Les Mills Step. OMG...This workout was short, but really intense. I burned 490 calories for 30 minutes! I gotta say, I'm liking this program.

Angelsmom, yes I stopped Body Revolution because starting with workout 3 there are lots of crazy moves and it continues on throughout the series. I'm 43 and my body doesn't move like that. I would've modified till it wasn't even remotely close to what Jill was doing...lol. Les Mills is more my type of workout.

novangel, wow two Jill's in one night!? How'd you feel the next day?

exhale, that must be a wonderful realization you came to.."The things I have now that may fit me better physically don't really fit who I feel I am now." That is an awesome statement! Oh and get to cleaning up that kitchen. It did wonders for me and I am super proud of my effort. I got rid of old storage bowls, bowls with no lids, lids with no bottoms and mainly put in lots of new lock n lock and rubbermaid containers. It looks to pretty now.

Ok, I'm off to shower and then bed. It's raining really heavy here now and I love the sound of the rain. I don't even have the tv on...I'm just listening to the rain. Nite all!

05-10-2012, 01:00 AM
Philly, I'll let you know how I feel when the next day arrives. ;)

A great snack to consider is fresh strawberries dipped in Chobani strawberry greek yogurt. Super low calorie and VERY good!

05-10-2012, 09:41 AM
Morning all :coffee2:

Angelsmon, looking forward to a June shopping adventure. Baggy clothes are a problem, but kinda a nice problem to have :)

Novangel, you are on a roll! Glad to see you moving forward with gusto. Strawberries with yogurt...mmmmm :) Hope you're feeling good this morning.

PhillyGirl, happy you're liking your new routine. You do eat well, I have to start making lighter versions of what I've been buying outside. This is a lifestyle change, right? Have to say I am happily amazed by my change in how I'm seeing myself.

Checking out a neighborhood Zumba intro class tonight. :carrot:

Have a great day all :)

Hello again to everyone!

After four weeks waiting for a broken toe to heal so I could actually wear my tennis shoes, I'm back!

I think I'll stay away from 30DS for a few more days, but I'm going to be walking and trying to get back on track!

I keep hovering just over the ten pounds lost mark..... I'm determined to break it this weekend. :)

05-10-2012, 10:18 AM
Hi eyre13, welcome back :)
Keeping fingers crossed for your 10-pound breakthrough ! Awesome :)

05-10-2012, 12:27 PM
Hello ladies :)

I haven't given up any food that I like, but I do have it in moderation. And if I splurge a little one day, than the next day I eat 500 less calories than normal.

Philly- I've decided against BR too, I've started weight lifting followed by a 30 min cardio 4 times a week. I don't need to kill myself working out everyday. I was getting quite bored

Exhale- you are so right! Baggy clothes are a problem, but a nice problem :)

Novangel- doing great, keep it up!

Eyre- welcome back, you can do it :carrot:

Ak- where are you Girly? :)

Good luck everyone
