I don't really think either are church appropriate however I vote for number 2. The colors are much more suitable. Black is not for Easter and you will probably look out of place. Most people choose bright spring colors for pastels for Easter but either way choose color.
the colour that is slimming is the colour that looks best on you bec it highlights your face and skin, not your shape. if you are a winter or autum, then dark/intense colours will suit you best. if you are a spring or summer, however, you'd look best in pastels or dilutes.
wearing hte wrong colour will make your skin look pasty and blotchy and, bec you are subconsciously aware that you are not looking your best, you'll be more likely to slump and slouch making you look heavier. wearing the right colour will boost your confidence bec subconsciously you are aware you look great, making you stand taller and instantly dropping 10lbs.
This will be for after church (I have a different church outfit), so that's not a concern.
I am always in black, no matter the holiday or event. My family won't be surprised to see me in black on Easter, trust me. It's a running joke among everyone.
I *like* the idea of wearing color, but the purple top is a bit snug, so my muffin top is kinda of obvious (in person). Also, I do wonder if the deep purple/white combo kind of truncates me a bit.
Hubby voted for the black one, but the material of it is just a cotton knit. Although it doesn't hug my body, when I bend over or whatever, it does cling to my rolls.
Thanks for the opinions! I was hoping for a solid majority, so I guess either are ok. lol
I always feel like dark colors look best on me, but end up getting the most compliments when I step outside of my comfort zone and wear a bright (Or anything other than black or grey LOL) color.
I like number 2... I think number 1 is a bit too formal for a Spring family gathering. In number 2, the lighter color balances the upper, darker color much better, since you look thinner below the waist. I would shorten the shirt a couple of centimeters to make your lower body look longer --I am short and always have to shorten the shirts a little, because they are made for taller people. Also, try wearing your hair in a pony tail or a nice bun... I think that must be look great on you. Have a nice Easter!
If you are going for the one that makes you look slimmer...I think the first one gives you better lines. Even your legs appear thinner in it. But, I also agree with the others that the second outfit is more spring appropriate.
