Post Neeeeddd help quick!

Its my ninth day on IP, ive lost about seven pounds but today's my cousins baby shower and there's SO much food here. Would it be really bad if I ate normal for today and then went back to phase one starting tomorrow morning? Would I gain or would it keep me from losing this week?

You'll gain, plain and simple. You'll also kick yourself out of ketosis and it can take anywhere from 3-5 sometimes longer to get back into it.

Remember why you want to lose weight and repeat it with your inner voice as many times as you have to. You're not saying 'goodbye' to these foods, you're saying "see you later".

You don't need the food, you just want it.

Stay strong!

You will be set behind about 4-5 days. You'll have to go through entering ketosis again and be miserable. It's pretty much an extra week of packets because of those 4 days entering ketosis. That's expensive and will set you back! Think about this decision carefully! The highlight of your day isn't going to be the foods you ate, it will be enjoying time with your family and friends.

Like the other post says your not saying goodbye to these foods, your saying see you later.

Heres what I would do.

I dont like not eating at party's I personaly think its rude, bc someone took all the time to make it.
eat a little amount. but be more crazed on the fruit and veggies. stick to the healthier things, but eat a small amount of the main dish. stay way from the chips tho. and the pop and juice. drink alot of water before getting to the food so you feel more full before you get to it.

DON"T DO IT!.....Drink your water and if there are veggies eat those. Kaleen you must not know anything about IP, we are not allowed fruits. Focus on visiting with friends and family and NOT on the food!....You can do this!

Dont do it.. stay strong. The shower will be over in a couple hours but your recovery from eating will take days.. so not worth it.. did you have your protein yet today? is there some meats there you can have?.. eyeball 5-8 oz's and have some OP veggies.. then have your IP for dinner. just dont go off

Don't do it

Totally will not be worth it. And just eating fruits won't help either. That will kick you out of ketosis just as all of the other food will.

Hopefully they have a veggie or deli meat platter. I went to a baptism last weekend and I filled my plate with broccoli, green peppers, and sliced turkey.

Let us know how you make out! Good luck!

Nope don't do it. It is more a mental challenge then any weight you may gain. You will be faced with food challenges from now until infinity. If you give in today, you will give in tomorrow and before you no it, you are gaining again. Take control. Stay away completely and you will feel the pride that comes with avoiding temptation. Tell yourself that this isn't the last time you will have the opportunity to eat ____. It is not going away. Someday you may have it, just not today. You can do it.

Have an ice water and look around the room at all the people gaining as you burn fat

Don't give in, you'll only regret it later. If you stay strong you will be so proud for overcoming this first hurdle. There will be plenty of other occasions where you will be tempted but then you will be able to look back on today's success and think "I resisted at the shower, I can do this" and it will get easier. You can do it!

Eat before you go!!! Bring a baggie of cut up veggies, put them on your plate and munch on them. SET YOURSELF UP TO BE SUCCESSFUL!!!! Bring your water too!

This is a huge turning point in your behavior. What you have to digest is there will ALWAYS be something. A shower, birthday, girls night out, book group, bad day! Although it's hard when you're in the middle of it, when you wake up the next day, you realize the food didn't matter. You missed NOTHING by not eating it and you feel in control of your body. Good luck! Hang in there. I hope you come out on the other end feeling strong.
