Hi gang

I took the hint and started a new thread since we were on page 6. I loved the "error" that was made with the name so I hope y'all don't mind that I kept it. :D

I'll be back later to talk to you's guys. I have to clean up the kitchen now.

Morning, yeah, it's hump day the week is almost over. OOPS, well, maybe not so good for me, my procrastination with school work is catching up to me FAST!! Now I have to finish a speech and write an English paper. This semester is going down the tubes fast!! I've got to do better than this.

On a brighter note, I'm still OP and I'm still walking everday. As soon as hubby and grandson are out of the house this morning I'll get on the treadmill.

I made the best muffins yesterday, if you like pineapple. Mix 1 box Angel Food cake mix and 1 can of 20 oz. crushed pineapple. Make 24 muffins for 1 PT each. They are so delicious. VERY SWEET.

Maurice is changing jobs again. Oct. 2001 he quit the job that he had had for 14 years because the pay was really bad. In the beginning the company was owned by an individual, Maurice was making okay, plus he had lots of perks. Then a large corporation bought the company, Maurices pay dropped by almost $10,000 the first year, plus he lost his perks such as a company truck to drive to and from work. So, 17 months later, they have offered him $6000 more a year to come back, a $2000 raise the first month he gets the shop to perform at a $30% profit and a monthly bonus ranging from 20% to 30% of his base pay if the shop is performing at 20% - 25% profit. That could be an additional $600 - $900 bonus per month. They really sweetened the pot to have him come back. Car sales is so unstable, now I'll be able to breathe a sigh of relief knowing that I can pay the bills on time.

Well, I better run, hope everyone is doing great. ES, hang in there, journaling can be hard at times. That is why I love doing this online, I'm always sitting at the computer anyway.

ZOE, hasn't the weather been beautiful. I've been walking outside since Saturday.

DONNA, sounds like you are most likely pre menapausal. Hope you are feeling okay.

JEN, how's the week going so far?

Talk to you girls later.

Good Wednesday Morning!

What a beautiful morning it is here in Texas. I couldn't believe how warm if felt at 5am when I went out on the front lawn for the paper. It's supposed to be in the 70's all through the weekend so I'm really happy about that. I think it's almost time to start tanning. :) I usually go for just about 6 weeks, just to get a start on some color. After that, I let the natural sun take over. I am not one to lay out in the sun....YUK!

Ruth ~ yes, the weather has been gorgous! I think I will be getting some walking in this week too. The weather is just too beautiful not to. Oh, and I have that muffin recipe from WW and love 'em too.

Donna ~ hope you're feeling better.

Greg will be home tonight, around 9pm. He's been in Peoria since yesterday a.m. I think this is the last trip for awhile. He wants to start doing the Atkin's diet tomorrow so I will be going to the grocery store after work today so I can get some supplies for him. It gets difficult to cook for 2 completely different diet plans but I try.

Well, gotta run to work. Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone and I'll talk to you's all later.

Thanks, Zoe, for starting the new thread :) You haven't mentioned the new house...did you close on it?

Ruth, you'll do fine with your school work....we women work great under pressure, don't you think? What temp and how long to bake those muffins? They sound good, especially at only a point apiece! Glad your hubby's job is more stable now, it's awful to have to worry about money.

Es, I've been meaning to ask, how's your brother's gym doing? Have you been going there on the weekends? I need to step up the exercising...walking alone isn't firming me the way I need it. I've only occasionally been using the handweights for toning, and need to concentrate on that. Bathing suit season is coming! :yikes:

I'm struggling big time this week, OP all day and losing it at night.

Today I'm cleaning house :( and Joey's coming over for dinner. We're having 15 people over for our annual St. Pat's dinner on Saturday; 13 of them are spending the night :dizzy: My family is crazy.

have a great day,
luv,

Hi Girls,

Jen, my brother is doing very well with his gym. I haven't been going by as much. He's always asking me when I'm going there to workout but something always gets in the way. When I first started with the points system I had no problem writing everything down. I start off fine but after lunch it's all downhill.:( I don't even want to think about bathsuits. Oh well<sigh> I won't give up. Are you doing all the cooking Saturday?

Wintery mix for tomorrow. Two Thursdays in a row. We're getting warm weather soon. That's when I'm going to start walking outside.

Zoe, Greg really likes the Atkins diet. So many people love it. A long time ago I tried it for one day & couldn't handle it. I'll stick with WW.;)

Ruth, those muffins sound good. :T

Hi Donna, Terri, Dianne, Sandy & Janie. I feel like I missed somebody. Hope not.

Have a nice evening:)

Hi ladies. Just a quick post to let you know all about my day today and how I'll be just so happy when it's over.

Started out with my dh's car not working so had to take him to work. No big deal.

Met with a friend who was selling Reliv products and I bought some paid too much for. Ran late after talking so much with them I was supposed to be home by 12 to be there when the wrecker came to tow off the car. Well, made it home at 12:30.. No problem, they hadn't come yet.

Message was left by the doctors office saying that my test results came back normal. No sign of menopause. So.. they wanted me to have a uterus ultra sound in the morning.. please call them. So, I did.... they aren't back into the office till 2:00.

I had to talk to them because they didn't know I had started my cycle and it has been horrible. I finally get them and now the doctor wants me to have it when I'm finished with this period. Last year it was discovered of some tumors on my ovaries and in the uterus. I was told they need to make sure that is not problem. I was told then that it was benign. So... my emotions are up and down and I'm ready for the ride to stop I want to get off now.

Sorry this post is all about me. I just needed to vent really bad! I hope you all don't mind.

More happened today but don't want to go into it all. I'll talk to you all later.

OH! BTW... it was only my dh's battery that was the problem!!! WHEW! :o

BTW.... JEN hang int here you can do this!

Just a quick note before I get back to writing this speech for tomorrow. I think I got about half of it done. I'm going to be so tired in the morning!!

The muffins are wonderful. I cooked them on 350 degrees until they were brown, about 18 minutes are so. I made the devil food cake with diet vanilla coke this afternoon. They are wonderful also, but I imagine it will be a while before I make them again. I've probably had about 8 points in muffins TODAY!!I know I went over, have to do better tomorrow.

DONNA, you had a hectic day today. Hope everything is calmed down by now.

JEN, we may work well under pressure, but it sure does put stress on us. You know, the whole time I'm putting this speech together, I'm sitting here going, if I would have done this yesterday I'd be finished!! But, this is a problem that only I can solve. I'm hoping that with hubby having steady income I won't be as stressed and depressed and I'll start doing better in school.

ES, hope your weather warms up soon.

Back to work for me, til tomorrow.

Morning guys:

Wow, Es, I was expecting such a miserable, wet, snowy, cold commute to work and was pleasantly surprised at no rain, no snow and kinda warm compared to the past couple of days. Maybe the snow is gonna hit tonight???

Ruth - Great job on your 3(.?) loss! Sorry, I can't remember the points part:lol: Way to go girl. Sorry about all the school stress though - hang in there, it will be over before you know it.

Jen - OMG, did you say 17 people for dinner and 13 staying over??? Holy moly! I thought it was rough having the 3 teenage boys over. We actually had a good time with them. Went to dinner and then to the Queen Latifah movie - it was pretty funny. Especially to see Steve Martin in one of the "hood" outfits and dancing to hip-hop music.

Janie - Sorry to hear you were having some problems and hope you're doing better. Stress can do awful things to our minds and bodies. There's so much stress around the university lately, people are getting on each other's nerves! Take care.

Donna - Wow, speaking of stressful you really had one stressful day. Hope things go okay with the doctor.

Hey ZoeGirl - Sounds like you're having really great weather. OMG, to us in NY right now, 20 is warm:lol: I don't feel like we'll ever get back to 70! Let us know how Greg does on the Atkins diet, I don't know too much about that diet, is that the one where you eat lots of meat and protein?

Hi Terri - how is everyone in your little gang doing?

Hi Sandy - How's it going?

Hey can someone tell me where to get that muffin receipe? Sounds really good, I'm not a baker so I would need step by step instructions :D

Well, today's WI at work - don't think I'll do well, since I can't really say I've been on-program these past 2 weeks, but I'll go anyway. Heck, I did pre-pay so may as well show up. Still waiting for the "click" :dizzy:

Talk to you's later!

Hugs,
Dianne

Donna,
I do hope that you are ok. I know I am having pre-menapause symptoms but my blood test always come out normal too.

Dianne,
Thanks for the kind words. I am somewhat better this week, but every day I have to force myself to go to work.

Ruth,
COngrats on Maurice's New/Old job  I know what you mean about having steady income. My income is the steady income of the houshold, and Steve's is always jumping around. He teaches part time and consults on the side. The consulting work is always feast or famine.

Jen,
I love corned beef. We made it camping in the Dutch oven on the fire one year. I thought there would be leftovers for sandwiches the next day. The hungry masses ate it all the first night. Just out of curiosity, where do you put 13 overnight guests?:lucky:

Terri,
How is my WW inspiration? You are always so good at maintenance. Me I loose and regain and reloose and regain. I think I am in the reloose phase right now, however, I WI this morning and stayed the same.

Es,
I was surprised to hear that you're not exercising that much. You have always been my exercise buddy. I still try to do some exercise everyday (except SUnday) either walking, biking, aerobics, kickboxing or treadmill. BTW when does the challenge end? I don't think I am going to loose 10 lb in 10 weeks but I do think that there will be a net loss at least.

Sandy,
How's that actor son of your's. My little actress has decided not to do summer theater camp this year. I think she wants to stay with her friends this summer.

Zoe,
ENjoy that gorgeous weather. We are supposed to have rain for the next 5 days :p:

I hope I didn't miss anyone!

Hi all!!!!
I am back. Man, I have been so busy. 3 dentist appt. in the last three days. Bruce's was today. He is the one who needs drugs. Very phobic. We had to go to the next town and I stayed for 4 hours. I had to drive. I hope to catch up in the next few days.
I hope everyone is doing well. Congrats to anyone who has good news.

Janie,
Your commitment to exercising every day is great. You're probably going to post a loss for the Challenge. As long as we don't give up on it, right?

Dianne,
Good for you, going to the WW meeting! I skipped weigh in this week and feel guilty now. I'll post it on Monday after this hellish-week. I know I'm in for a gain, just how big is yet to be determined :( That Steve Martin movie looks funny. Hope the situation at your job has become less stressful for you.

Es,
Glad Tony's gym is doing well. I'm glad I didn't go bragging about hearing the click, cause whatever it was is gone! I've got to start all over again. Since I've paid for the Online and love it, I'm sticking with it.

Terri,
Was starting to get worried that you were MIA ! I can understand Bruce's fear of the dentist. Hope it all went okay. I was in Tuesday for a cleaning and still got nervous. Why is it we hate dentists so?

Ruth,
Hope you're caught up with your homework. Thanks for the info about the muffins...I'll be making them next week for sure.

Donna,
I had fibroids and very painful periods...put off getting treated, but finally ended up having a hysterectomy. Please don't neglect it! It does become more painful and dangerous if let gone untreated. Hope you're ok.

Dinner on Saturday is simple, corned beef, along with potatoes, cabbage and carrots. I cook the beef the night before, and slice it all so there's no mess on the day of. This year I bought about 12 lbs...Each year I think I've made too much beef, but we never seem to have leftovers to speak of. My SIL brings the breads, Jess the apple pies, my niece the scones and jello shots
Of the overnight guests, 4 are under the age of 8, so it's fun for them to camp out on the floor. Now that we've got the guest room, and the computer room (with an air-type bed), there's beds enough for 4 adults. The others are on couches or the floors  Joe and I keep our king-size bed for ourselves :s: It really is fun, I'd rather see everyone here safe and sound than being out driving after partying.

Ok, I'm writing a book here  so I'll go. Sorry if I missed anyone. HI  to Sandy and Zoe!

Janie, I meant I haven't been by my brother's gym not that I haven't been exercising as much. I always manage that. If I didn't exercise I would be much heavier. The most I'll go without exercising is 2 days, that's it. I always do my treadmill then weights, or my firm tapes. I'm really proud of you!:strong: I don't think I'll lose 10 either but I'm not going to stress over it. Not anymore. One day at a time.;)

Jen, so funny about the click:lol: Saturday sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun. BTW Points Lady is gaining weight. I have an Aero Bed. I bought it for myself. When I can't take Pete's snoring it comes in handy.

Amiga, we're getting some snow as I speak/type. My drive home from work was sleet. WTG with your loss. :) The Atkins Diet is fat & protein. Not for me.

Donna, sorry to hear you had such a horrible day. I hope today was better. :grouphug:

Ruth, if you get a chance to exercise you can burn off those muffins, ;)

Terri, I can't wait till you're not so busy so you can come back to us. ;)

Gotta watch Dr. Phil.

Have a nice evening buddies.

That's what I get for finish it at 1:30 am this morning, I didn't have time to practice. I got my English paper written in the 45 minutes between classes today.

DIANNE, so proud of YOU!! Keep up the good work.

Hi everyone,
I have to keep this short, I'm at work. We didn't get the big rain we were supposed to get. Lots of wind but not much rain. This is unfortunate because we really need the rain here in Central CA. SOuthern CA got a lot this winter but we haven't gotten any real rain since Dec.

I went over my points yesterday but not by too much. I did walk my 2 miles at lunch though. Today I will walk at lunch and do the treadmill tonight.

Congratulations Dianne 2 pounds is awesome!!!

Janie,
Good going on the lunchtime walk. Chicagoland is also experiencing a lack of moisture due to the extremely low levels of snowfall this winter. They're already predicting problems with our gardening for the spring. Whatever we've missed has obviously gone to the east coast....Es and Dianne really got socked with lots of it this winter!

Today is glorious! After getting 5 inches of snow a couple of weeks ago, it's now melting and beautiful... sunny and in the 50's...tomorrow we're expecting temps in the upper 60's! That's almost 70! It'll be good for the kids to be out in the yard tomorrow. My bro. and SIL are bringing their dog, Mabel, who is a sweetie. So we'll have muddy paws in addition to the footprints

When my niece told her girls (ages 3 and 6) that they'd be able to be in the yard at Auntie Jenny's, but they'd get wet, they asked if we'd be swimming. :D can't wait

I was mentioning to Joe that I've fallen by the wayside and have to make a serious effort to get back OP. Since my start in December, he has been incredibly supportive; tells me often how well I'm doing, and that he knows how hard I'm working at it. I am so lucky. He doesn't judge me like I do myself. This is only about food! How hard can that be to control? I successfully quit smoking, and that was tough. I've raised two children...everyone knows what a challenge that is. Why, then, do I become so overwhelmed/obsessed with food?

Hope everyone has a great weekend. As luck would have it, I've got a 4 hour volunteer meeting tomorrow morning  , then we'll have everyone here till Sunday afternoon. I'll see you, hopefully, on Sunday evening!

Well, the week is over and the weekend is here.

I've been evaluating my food choices. I'm eating at my high end this week. But most of my points are being spent on snack foods. I've got to get a grip on this. I talked hubby into moving my treadmill in the living room so I can walk while watching TV. I'm hoping I'll stay on it more that way.

Talk to you girls tomorrow.

Janie,
Are you OK? We are hear if you need to "talk".
You are so sweet! That regaining and losing etc... was always me. I know how that goes. It will happen one day. I just got sick of it.

Ruth,
That is wonderful. What a great loss. You are doing so well.
Yes, I got lots of pics of her. She was so cute.
I hope you do great on your school work. I will have to think on that hypothetical question.
I am so proud of your walking. That is a great accomplishment.
I make the bundt cake version of your muffins. MMMmm! I will try the cupcakes next. Thanks.
I am glad that Maurice is getting better pay. Bet it felt good.
Congrats on your speech.
I can't do the treadmill unless I have a TV. Bruce bought me wireless headphones so I didn't have to turn the TV up to loud.

Es,
Great job on the exercising.
I love Dr. Phil. I can't miss him.

Zoe,
:bravo: That is a great loss Zoe. You are doing wonderfully. I'll bet you are so proud. I know I am. :D
I am still here. I have 4 -12 yr. olds in 4 more weeks. Then 2 weeks after that I will have 4- 17 yr. old girls. They are all giggly and loud.
I can post some but sometimes it says I can't because I already have posted before. A friend sends them to me. She sends me about 4 a week. I love them.
Good luck to your husband. I hope he does well.

Dianne,
YAY!!!! :bravo: on your 2 lb. loss. Keep it up or down I should say.
I am glad the sleepover went well. I'll bet they had fun. I wished my kids could do that once in awhile.
"Bringing Down the House" sounds funny. I love both Queen Latifah and Steve Martin. Remember "Parenthood"?
I sw Chicago last weekend. I loved it.

Jen,
We always take the kids to their choice of restaurants on their birthday. Afterall us mom's who birthed them should get a night off cooking. Hope y'all had a great time. I'll bet Matthew sounds so cute.
My dad smoked for 44 years (started at 9-1936) and was up to 4 packs a day and he quit cold turkey. He said his head felt like he was in a cloud for months. He used to walk around with an unlit one in his mouth but he never started again. I'll bet that was hard.
Must be great to have such a close family. Your annual party sounds like so much fun.
OMG!!!! I didn't hear where Kordell left. We have his jerseys. Guess we can't wear tham now. He left because he was going to be second to Tommy Maddox. Kordell is a sweet guy. Hope he does well unless we play you.
I enjoyed Survivor although I wanted Heidi out. She is so skinny and I don't think very cute and her voice. Ugh. She thinks she is so cute.
I have no clue as to why we go through this everytime we start a program. Food is so overwhelming. There is so much of it available. Just keep at it and try to get food out of your mind. I did so well when I was able to just go through the day and not think about every little thing about food. You are so lucky to have a great supporter like Joe. Bruce is always that way too.

Donna,
I hope you are feeling better now. Good luck and keep us posted on these tumors. When my daughter was 14 she had a tumor on her ovary (Biggest they ever saw) but thankfully it was benign. They took her fallopian tube.
Battery isn't so bad. That was good news.

My little Brandon is off on a 2 day campout 2 hours away and boy am I nervous. He got there ok but I wish Bruce was able to go. I know it will go ok. :Knocking on wood:
I am going out with Bruce tomorrow and we will see a movie and go to dinner. It will be nice to go on a date. He leaves for 6 weeks on March 28. My b-day is March 27. What a present.
Well gotta go. I hope y'all have a great weekend.

Hello everyone

Just stopping in for a moment, before I head out the door. We have to go stop in at the new house and do a 'walk through' before they start the sheetrocking. I am getting excited now since I can actually see a house. It's looking great. They say it will be done in May ~ with no unforeseen surprises (bad weather, etc.) so I'll keep you posted.

I didn't get to my WW meeting this morning. I never miss so I hated to do so today. Hopefully, that will just make for a larger loss next week. :D

I've been quite busy lately with family problems. Not with Pete & Dave but my sister(alcoholic). Too long to get into right now.

We went to the chinese buffet yesterday & I woke up with my eyes all puffy. I would hate to give up chinese food but I notice afterwards I retain so much water. I flush it out by drinking a lot of water. Hopefully tomorrow's weigh-in won't be too bad.

I can't stay but I'll be back later.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY BUDDIES!!!

Sorry I couldn't get in this weekend, my home computer is down. Willie ordered road runner and they came to install it and not only were they not able to install it, but they told me I had to re-install Windows 98 and since then, I can't get into AOL and I keep getting error messages, like "fatal" and "cannot locate socket"

I was on the phone practically all weekend with AOL, Road Runner and Gateway. The Gateway rep asked what version of AOL we used and when I said 8.0, she said that doesn't go with windows '98, which is too old a version to keep up with the newer version of AOL. What a hassle, I think we're gonna have to buy a new computer and this one is only 3 years old. I think they make it that way, so every few years, you need a new computer. No one told me I should'nt be using 8.0 with Windows '98. Oh, well enought *****ing and moaning - sorry.

I gotta run, but wanted to let you know why I was missing all weekend.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Happy St. Patricks Day!!!!

I sure hope everyone has a good day today. My daughter has only a half a day of school because of some kind of math contest so it will be a short day of leisure!  Have a great day!

Dianne, I can really empathize with you on the computer stuff. I agree that every three years the computer manufacturers plan it that you have to buy a new one to keep up. You can get one that you can up grade but to go up to a higher processor and operating system the complete mother board has to be replaced then you do just as well with buying a new computer. Is your computer not able to just upgrade to a newer windows? Sometimes if the ram is enough you can. That way you don't have to buy a new computer. I love computers but sometimes they bring more stress in my life than I need! Have a great day!

Es, my problem with chinese food is the MSG. I have to make sure they don't have it in their food especially the fried rice because it triggers my migraines. Sorry you got so puffed up. :sorry: I'm also sorry about problems with your sister. I have been there. I have a sister that for a while was really bringing despair to our family. She still is a issue and she is now 31 years old. We are always walking on thin ice with her. Vent when you need to. It sure helps. :grouphug: Have a great day!

Zoe, it's so exciting when you FINALLY see things come together when you are building a house. We built the house we are in now and of it was not a horrible experience but because of weather and some other unexpected occurances it did end up taking longer than we had hoped! But to me it's worth it. Have a great day!

Janie, Jen, Ruth and Terri I sure hope you all are having a great day also.

HI gals,
This coming weekend is the woman;s retreat from my church. It is not very well attended this year. I think there are only 9 women going. I am in charge of the music and I haven't been able to find anyone to play keyboard. I may be pecking out the melody line myself. My girlfriend is the director of family ministry and she is running it and I think she is very disappointed at the turnout. I think the reason so few people are going is that it is the 3rd year in a row at the same place. I think people would like more variety.

HAppy Monday everyone!

TOP OF THE MORNING TO YOU,

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday. I was down another 1.2 lbs. this morning for a total of 8 lbs. in three weeks. So, I'm not complaining!

Well, the treadmill is in the living room and I know that I will be using it more, but not just yet. Maurice made Thursday his last day as car salesman, so we had a weekend together. We used it to rake our yard, mow the grass and clean the autos. Needless to say, I have places hurting that haven't ached in years. I did not realize how out of shape I was. Oh, I also walked 2 miles on the treadmill on Saturday, anyway, I was too sore yesterday, but maybe I can walk real slow while I'm watching the Soaps.

DIANNE, were you able to get on AOL before? Well, you can always let your grandkids use the old computer or sale it. Mine is 2 years old now, I'm hoping I don't have to have another one for a while. I'm too cheap to change from dialup and I don't think I'll be adding anything to it. So far it hasn't been a real problem.

ES, hope you are back to normal after eating Chinese. Sorry about the problems with your sister. My father drank alot and my oldest daughter drinks more than I think she should. She worries me.

Oops. gotta go to class, I'll write more when I get home.

Bye

Happy St. Patrick's Day:D

I feel like I haven't been here in so long. I missed you all.

Ruth, I know you must be on cloudnine. 8 lbs. is awesome. I have my treadmill in the livingroom & like Terri I have the headphones. I watch my soaps & I get so into them that I don't even realize how long I've been on. I love my treadmill.WTG Girlfriend;)

Janie, maybe next time your friend should consider a different place. My church has an annual dinner in the same place every year but nobody minds cause it's beautiful. Sorry you didn't get a good turnout.

Donna, I try. I always pick out the healthiest choices of chinese food. This place said they don't add MSG but I don't know. :s: I really enjoy it but I have to suffer the consequences afterwards. I was up 5 lbs. this morning:yikes: I know it's water so I'm not upset. Like that saying goes You Play, You Pay. Thanks for the hug sweetie, I needed it. ;)

Amiga, I know how frustrating it is when your PC acts up. I guess that's why Pete bought me a new one. He got tired of hearing me complain. Hope you can get it fixed.

Jen, no matter where I go to eat chinese food I always get puffy. :ink: I'm glad you had a nice weekend.

Terri, it seems like it's never ending with my sister. I haven't spoken to her in awhile. I get upset because her kids are angry & hurt. Speaking of her she just got online.

Zoe, you have some willpower. Send some my way.;)

My friends, gotta go jump on the treadmill while I watch All My Children.:D

Well, I'm at home, off to the park for an afternoon walk in a little bit.

ES, which soaps do you watch, I watch all the ABC ones. I tape them if I'm not home.

JANIE, you might be on to something. A different place may be what is needed.

Off for a walk. I'll check in later.

Good Afternoon, ladies! I seem to be the first one to post in here today. You all must have a life....  It keeps raining so with that mood is reflecting a warp sense of humor... so :sorry: sorry!

I am a too easily to get addicted type of personality so I don't watch those soaps. I used to spend hours watching what I taped while I was working and never got anything done. So, in order to be able to have a LIFE, I have to say :nono:  to soaps!

It's another rainy day here in SC and they are forcasting it to do this all week!! I can see the green of weeds popping all over my yard and although I love plants weeds are not my favorite. Last summer we were in the fifth year of a draught but I don't think it's that way now. Although this is typical we get a lot of rain then when we need it it stops. :?:

I went and exercised this morning and found that 2 miles on the treadmill for some reason was not that hard! I must be making some improvements in that area. I have not stepped on the scales in weeks. I will most likely next week after I know that water retention is at it's all time low. I am to have that pelvic ultra sound on Thursday. One hour before the test I'm suppose to drown myself in water. They want a full bladder. Oh boy!!! :dizzy: :p :halffull:

Enough with me.... what's going on with everyone today? Janie, sorry about the retreat not having a good turn out. I wish you could of come with me to mine the weekend before in Atlanta. We had over 100 women there and although there were a lot there it seemed like a good size group. Es, I bet your 5 pounds of water weight is already gone. ;) Zoe, how is the house coming along? Dianne, I hope your putter problems are over. Ours was acting up last night. Ruth, I admire you and your self discipline with your school work and diet. I would like some of that please!?!!! :) Jen, I hope your week is going as nice as your weekend was! Terri, what are you up to today?

I know that I probably missed someone... I hate it when that happens. :( Have a good day everyone and please forgive me if I left something important out.

GOod morning Ladies!

Ruth,
Congratulations you looser ;) I may be taking a class in the next couple of weeks. We can comiserate as students together.

Donna,
I am glad to hear that you are alright. Am somewhat curious what was going on though. Please fill us in if you don't mind that is.

Terri,
Thanks for your sympathetic words. I am somewhat better this week. I am able to get more work done and I am not forgetting as many things. I am just so tired of being depressed. I wish I could find a magic pill. There is a web site that describes the "Effects of Childhood abuse on Adults" http//www.grndr.com/
When I read the artilces I felt like I was looking in a mirror.

Es,
I always puff up after asian food too. I hate it, but I am sure that your 5 lb is water and will be gone in no time.

Janie, I almost completely missed a cycle. It was discovered last year that I had a few fibroid tumors and I guess since my blood work did not show any signs of menopause my doctor wants to make sure those tumors are not what is causing my problems and if they have gotten larger since last year when I had this same procedure done. I was to have this done last week but after being three weeks late I started my period so they wanted to do it again after the period was over.

SANDY!!!! I'm so sorry... I knew I was leaving someone out this morning... Hello! Have a great day!!!

I'm attaching a recent picture of my daughter, Elena for you all to see.

Hallelujah..........hallelujah!!! My AOL is back!!! For the first time in 4 days I spoke to someone who actually knew how to help me. OMG, I think I fell in love with "Anthony" - we spent about 1 hr. together while he helped me get more space - get back aol, etc. One of the problems was that I only had like 37% of space and you need at least 70 % or more for aol, etc. Anyway, to make a long story short, he was amazing, I was so frustrated and he was so patient..........I mean, he must have said thank you to me 18,000 times:lol: So, for now, I'm back. I may have to do something about upgrading cause this may happen again, but I still think that the guy trying to install road runner, messed me up :s:

Hope everyone had a good St. Paddy's Day - ZoeGirl - you did have the most appropriate of names to attach the 'O to:lol:

Donna - Elena is so pretty - God Bless! She looks like a sweetie!

Well, gotta run, my Alana is sick and I took the day off to play nurse to her - she has an upper respiratory infection, sinus infection and bronchitis:( She wasn't able to go back to school cause she was so sick. Thank God I was able to find a doctor on Sunday. So, she's taking her meds and we're watching chick flicks, :D

Hi Amiga, Jen, Terri, Ruth, and Sandy. I'll try to come back in tonight. Congrats to all the losers and hang in there to us strugglers (is that a word??). Anyway, talk to you's later!

Janie,
I tried to access the website you mentioned but couldn't get in :?:
Was hoping get some insight re: what you've been going through. Depression can be devastating; you are in my prayers.

Donna,
What a cutie! Thanks for sharing the pic. of Elena. It really helps to put a face with the stories. Good luck with the ultrasound. Have you had one before? That's great news about the 2 miles seeming easier...your hard work is paying off!

Es,
I used to watch the ABC soaps also, but had to give them up when I went to work full time back in the 80's. Then it was too hard to tape and watch them. I really did go thru withdrawal back then! I would love to get a treadmill, but I suffer from heel pain (plantar fascitis) the minute my shoes get broken down, about every 6 months. I've heard treadmills are bad news for people who suffer from that. But it would be so cool to have one in my living room!

Dianne,
Glad your computer problems are fixed! I had many difficulties with AOL when we purchased this new computer. When I downloaded the 8.0 version, I had nothing but crashes and problems with other programs. After discovering that, I went with dsl service thru our phone co. and have been completely satisfied with it. Now our computers are like cars....a necessary evil  Sorry to hear Alana is ill :balloons: for her speedy recovery!

Went shopping today, and found lots of bargains :D some new walking shoes, which I really needed; jeans at 1/2 off of clearance price! at Sears; and some spring tops at Marshall Field, my absolute favorite store. Needless to say, I am a happy camper.

Hello,

I hope everyone is having a good week.

JEN, shopping!!! Sounds like fun, right now I'm just trying to fit into the stuff I bought last Spring!! LOL I have a few outfits that have never been worn. I love my soaps, but I have periods of going weeks and days without seeing them. It just never seems to take long to catch up with what's going on. HEY, remember they killed Victor Lord off OLTL back in the 70's. Well, they had to kill him off again, this time old age did him in!! LOL

DIANNE, some of the techs are amazing, some don't seem to know diddly. Glad that your back with us. Sorry to hear that Alana isn't well!

DONNA, your daughter is a doll. How old is she again. I'm sure you told us, but I'm getting old and they say the memory is the first to go!! LOL Funny about not watching soaps in order to have a life. They sometimes have interfered with my school work!! But I usually clean house during commercials, and now that the treadmill is in the living room I can get my exercise in while watching them. Congrats on the easy two miles, isn't it a awesome feeling when we can actually realize improvements. I hate that everytime I quit and get off program, it takes so much longer to get back to at the same fitness level. I use to spend most of my walking time at 3.5 mph and walk for an hour, now I'm down between 2.5 and 3 and I'm doing good to spend 45-50 minutes on the thing.

JANIE, I don't have a lot of depression but I do fight some from time to time. My oldest daughter has trouble with it her father was abusive to her. As an adult she has trouble coping. She has no self-esteem and she can bring herself to the point of not functioning and if alcohol is around she will over indulge. I guess the biggest difference with her and me is I medicate myself with food. So I can relate to some extent. Recently I gave a speech on domestic violence in speech class. I was totally upset and bawling for two days. I just thank God that I bounce back fairly quickly, I hope you get through this soon. If you want to email me, I'll be happy to "listen". Just remember we are all here for you.
Oh, my email is restess42@cs.com

Jen,
It may not be your fault that you couldn'tr get to the site. I think when I typed the url I forgot the colon. It should be http://www.grndr.com/ There is a menu of psycological topics. "Effects of childhood abuse...." is in the middle of the list. IF you can't get there now, and you are still interested, I can email you the articles. Thanks for your interest.

Ruth,
I am so sorry that your daughter had to suffer. At least there are laws now that protect children. When we were kids in the 60s, there weren't any laws. They didn't start until the early 70s.

Dianne,
I am sorry that Alana is sick. You guys back east have really had a rough winter with all the snow and illness. Thank God spring is on it's way.

Es,
DO you get into Manhattan very often? That is one thing I miss out here. Tomorrow I will be going into SF but it i different. Fun but different.

Donna,
DO take care of yourself. I didn't know about the tumors. Please have them checked out !!!

Sandy,
Hope everything is ok in Bean town. I know St Pattys Day is a Big Deal In Boston. Did you have fun?

ZOe,
I love the Dixie CHicks, but I guess Natalie got them into trouble last week when she talked about Bush and Texas. How is all that going down in Texas? Not good I would expect.

Hey buddies:

Thanks guys, for your get well wishes for Alana. Poor kid, last night she was throwing up. We called the doctor today and he changed her antibiotic - the dizziness is from the ear infection, your balance gets a little messed up with that. She's concerned about missing school, but we don't want her to go back sick. She e-mailed her teachers and they told her to just concern herself with getting better. (I think she's missing Casey:s: )

Janie - I wish I could go to SF - I always tell willie if we ever get to California, I really want to visit SF. I have a co-worker who moved out there and she loves it. I think it might be the Manhattan (or at least the Village) of California.

Es - hi mi amiga, what's up? How are things with your sister? I'm sorry you're going through that.
Willie and I are going through that with Andre, his 32 year old son - but that's been going on for so long I guess we all just got used to it. He's been in and out of programs since about the age of 17. Right now he's staying with us until Friday, when he'll leave for yet another program. One thing, he's travelled all over going to programs, California, Virginia, etc. What can you do? All you can do is be supportive, especially with your nieces/nephews. Hang in there, sweetie. :grouphug:

Hi Jen - sounds like shopping was fun and successful, I can't wait to get out of these damn winter clothes!

Today is Willie and my anniversary and this morning I wished him a happy anniversary and he said "same". Well, I was highly insulted, told him that sounded like the guy in "Ghosts", when Demi Moore said I love you and he would always say "ditto". But the funny thing is willie said Happy Anniversary yesterday (a day too early), so I guess he figured he already paid his dues  We'll probably wait until the weekend to celebrate.

Hi Donna, Terri, ZoeGirl, Sandy and Ruth - hope you guys are all doing well. Talk to you's tomorrow.

Dianne,
Happy Anniversary to you and Willie! May the magic continue....(I read that in an anniversary card once and loved it  )

Janie,
The information contained in the website was very interesting. Thank God there are people who have chosen this as their life's work...to help and heal the victims.
My younger sister, Beth, was abused as a child, by a very close relative. She underwent years of therapy, some of the article was familiar, as she had shared her therapy with me.
Hang in there, it does get better. You'll come out of it stronger.

My SIL's sister lives in Denver...she can't open her doors due to all the snow...literally snowed in! They were prepared, the only difficulty is that the dog can't get out....yikes! :yikes:

Today is a momentous day for our country. I have been alternating between fear and tears and anger. God Bless our military men and women.

Amiga, Happy Anniversary & may you have many more!;) I keep in touch with my sister thru emails. Talking to her on the phone doesn't work cause she's usually ripped, zooted, whatever they call it these days. Thanks for asking. I hope Alana feels better real soon.

Jen, I think I would love being snowed in.
We have to pray for our military men & women. This is really scary.

Janie, I can't remember the last time I went to Manhattan. I don't care for the city. I've become a real country girl. My ex lives in SF. I have no idea where in SF. I haven't seen him in 23 yrs.

Donna, your daughter is so cute. Are her eyes light brown?

One of these days I'll get to show all of you what I look like from the neck up. Kidding.

Well Ladies, time to turn in. I'm feeling a little tired.

Till tomorrow.

Hello my fab-40 and Beyond friends! :D

We just just a big unexpected rain storm. My lawn is SO green! As a matter of fact, my lawn was the only green lawn ALL WINTER. My lawn people have done a great job last summer so it's been looking great. Only 1 draw back ~ it needs mowing during the winter but hey, I don't have to do it. :D:D

Ruth ~ 8 lbs!! Woo Hoo  WTG girl! Send me some of your energy so that *I* can get out and walk too.

Es ~ I have to admit that my will power is deteriorating (sp??). I am at my usual "10 lbs from goal sabbotage" stage. :?: I don't know what it is or why I do it but I just do.....I get within 10 pounds of my goal and I think I should eat more. CRAZY! I've been back to being OP, day 3 now so I'm hoping it will be okay and I can proceed. Don't give up.....you'll do it.

Donna ~ thanks for asking about the house. It's at a very early stage but it's now a "house" so I'm excited. I will try to attach a photo of the outside here on my post. See if I have any computer skills. And beautiful daughter.....

Dianne, my friend, welcome back to computer land! :D We miss you when you're gone. Happy Anniversary to you and Willie!!!!

Janie ~ How you feeling sweetie? Hope all is well. And yes, the Dixie Chicks "thing" has Texans up in arms. Hardly any radio station is playing their music. Listeners have called in and voted not to play 'em. I guess it's about 70% so that's pretty high.

Well, I have to go for now. Hi to all the rest of you I haven't mentioned. Hope y'all have a great evening.

Good morning!

ZOE, love the house. Is the entry way open to the 2nd floor ceiling all the way to the back. Do you know what I'm trying to say. My cousins house has what is almost like a breezeway through it from the front entry door to the back patio doors. I visited her in May 2 years ago, she wasn't even using the air conditioning yet. For those of you that have never lived in the "hot & humid" south, sometimes you need the air conditioning just breathe if the air is too humid!

JEN, I'm with you. I've heard Leno and Letterman say things about presidents before, noone ever protested them. Maybe what she said was inappropriate, but it doesn't deserve all this commotion. A person can be anti-war (Bush) and still respect our military men and women!! I consider myself anti-war, but since our men and women are over there, I hope they KICK "@$$"!!

DIANNE, happy aniversary!!

ES. hang in there!! We can do this.

Well, time to start getting ready for school. Hubby has been home sick with a bad stomach virus. I'll be glad when he is better, this is day 3. His boss called yesterday to check on him and let us know that he knew it was going around and understood. We were worried about how they would take his being sick and absent his second day at work.

LET'S REMEMBER TO PRAY FOR OUR SERVICE MEN & WOMEN!

Es, my daughter's eyes are light brown and she is 8 years old. She had a fever this morning and coughing so my dh stayed with her while I had that ultra sound done and when I came home she was playing and I took her temp and it was normal so I took her to school! Mean, huh???? I am suppose to hear from the doctor this afternoon or tomorrow about the results and I will let you know.

It's a mixed emotion day for our country but I believe in our country and am praying for the men and women in the military as well as the President. I am praying that this will be short and they get Saddam TODAY!

Donna, I had other complications so I had a hysterectomy but the cyst that was on my ovary was removed & I still have half of that ovary. Does this make sense? The reason for removing it was because it wasn't going away. They'll probably give you a choice. It's good to get a second opinion. Sorry to hear your hubby is not feeling well. Make him homemade chicken soup. ;) (old remedy)

Terri, how are you?

Jen, this challenge is not working for me. I know this sounds like an excuse but with all the stress with my sister I've been a little off. You know, the evenings. :rolleyes: Her adopted daughter ran away but they found her. She's 16. I just am relieved it's not the C word. :lol: ;) Also, I have to agree that this time the challenge has not been working for me either. It seems everything has happened since then and I have not been as disciplined about it as I should have been. I am still watching points, keeping good food choices in my mind but have not stepped on the scale because I don't feel any difference really either way. I am exercising but still not as much as I should. I'm sorry for all the problems with your sister and her daughter. I can sense your stress right now. Here's a hug for you :grouphug: {{{ES}}}

Well ladies, I have two sick ones home today. Jim threw up all last night and my daughter has a fever and complaining now of a sore throat and is still coughing. So.... it's off to the doctors today. I have to convince my hubby that he needs to go though. He can't mess around with infections with that mechanical valve so I am going to have to be a drill sargeant. :drill:

Good Friday to you all. I will check in later!

Happy Friday my friends!

I'm on my way out the door. I'm not coming home today right after work ~ I don't know if I've ever spoken of my good friend Thyra but her Dad died this week and we are going to the funeral parlor tonight. It's a 2 hour drive from here which I dread but I can't not go. So tonight will be a long one but I'm glad that the weekend is here.

Jen ~ I agree with you that we love our "freedom of speech". I also think that no matter what we say with that freedom, there will always be those who disagree, (another freedom I suppose). I too have mixed feelings at present. On the one hand, war is a horrible thing and I for one would like to do without it. On the other hand, threats without actions is like telling your child "don't or else" everytime they do something wrong and the "or else" never comes. They just learn to know that the "or else" won't come so they continue their bad actions. I don't know.....I'm so confused, aren't you?

Have a wonderful Friday y'all.............

Good Friday mornin' guys:

Donna - I too had a cyst on my ovary some years ago and was told that they would not know whether it was cancerous or not until they went in. Luckily, it was not and they just removed the cyst. You may want to get a second opinion just for peace of mind. Sorry to hear about your hubby and Elena and hope they get better soon.

We are taking Alana back up to school tonight and I feel bad cause she's still not feeling well, but she has to go back before she falls too far behind. We're driving up tonight and staying over at a hotel in town - guess we WILL be celebrating our anniversary this weekend

ZoeGirl, sorry to hear about your friend's Dad.
Hope the rest of your weekend is better.

Es - Sorry about your cat being sick. Hope she gets better soon. And I hope you don't stress out too much with the problems your sister is having. :grouphug:

Hi to Jen, Terri, Janie, Sandy & Ruth  Have a great weekend everyone!

Oh, almost forgot - wi - I stayed the same:D I'll take it!

Hugs,

HAPPY FRIDAY!

The weekend is finally here. Does everyone have big plans? Mine are to stay home and study my butt off for test next week. I'm two weeks away from Spring Break, I'll that time to study and to get ahead in Speech and English.

DONNA, sounds as if your husband has what mine husband had. Maurice woke up with fever and chills first. Hope he is feeling better soon.

I have to run, I'll reply to everyone else later.

Zoe,
my sympathies for your friend's Dad. It's important that you'll be there for her.

Dianne,
maintaining is a good thing :) even better will be celebrating your anniversary this weekend  enjoy!!!!!

Es,
challenge? what challenge? :o don't put that pressure on yourself in addition to the stress of family problems. I know you're strong from exercising, girl, but everyone has their limit!!! hang in there :grouphug:

Brandon is going to spend a couple of days here next week, as he's off for spring break. :D

Hi all!

Janie,
Hope the retreat went well. I am glad you are getting help. It always feels better to know you aren't the only one. I know that is probably how you feel sometimes. We are here for you if you need to talk.
Yes, Natalie got into some trouble. I don't think you can mess around with the Country Fans. Our country station here had a "chickless" weekend.

Ruth,
Congrats on your loss. that is wonderful. Hope your muscles feel better now.
I am so sorry to hear that about your daughter. That is true. Food can be as addicting as alcohol. Give her a hug from us.
Hope your hubby feels better.
Yes, Kick their A**.

Es,
Hope it gets better with your sistyer. Her kids deserve to be happy all of the time.
Please keep us posted on your kitty.

Patti'O fits well. Beautiful HOUSE Zoe. So sorry about your friend's dad. So sad.

Donna,
I had planned to mow on Tues. and it kind of felt good to wake up to rain but alas I had to do it yesterday.
Great job with the treadmill girl. "weigh" to go.
Good luck with the exam. I remember having to be full of water for my ultrasounds. Yuck.
Your daughter is so CUTE. Thanks for sharing.
My daughter had an ovarian cyst 2 yrs. ago. It turned out to be a
benign tumor. They had to take her fallopian tube. It can be scary. Good luck.
Hope your hubby and daughter are doing better.

Dianne,
Hope Alana is doing better now. Britts had the same thing and missed 2 days. We watched old movies (The Enchanted Cottage, and Battleground). We are in a old black and white mood right now. Tomorrow we are watching "Operation Petticoat- not black and white but older.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!! Too funny about "same". Hope you had a great time.

Jen,
Is that the same place Oprah goes? Sounds like you did great.
I watch Days of Our Lives. I got it down to one.
Bruce is leaving for Co. Springs next week for 6 weeks and they have about 2 ft. there. It is about 60 min. from Denver.
I am crying here listening to military men and women saying hi to their loved ones. I am so proud of them.

I agree about the free speech with the Dixie Chicks but the one thing that made me mad was that she said it outside this country. In England. I love the two sisters but I never really liked the personality of Natalie Maines.
I think it was so she could get the crowd to cheer. The apology had to be scripted and forced cause she had to mean it to say it. They kick off their American tour in May. That ought to be interesting.
I didn't want war either but I do feel for these men and women and I am so proud of them. I wish they could get Saddam and his sons. Get this over with . Liberate these poor people. I saw Tom Brokaw on some political show and he said that he talked to a protestor when he was over there and the man begged not to be seen and Tom took him inside and the man said that the Iraqi people want the Americans to free them and he said to hurry up and then he went back outside to protest for Saddam. He had to. It was his duty. They are so scared of him. He is a nut.
Tonight we are going to a SUPPORT YOUR TROOPS rally at our minor league baseball field. We are dressing in Red, White and Blue and taking flags and signs. Kids need to see this. We are also taking Comfort items to add to boxes to send to the troops.

I hope I didn't miss anything.

God Bless the U.S.A.

Back for a minute, now maybe I can address everyone else this morning. My cousin had IM me, I have a problem doing more than one thing at once!! LOL

TERRI, thanks. Yes, the muscles started feeling better within a few days. I guess in a way that it was a good pain. My body letting me know that I need to continue exercising, because I am out of shape. Maurice went back to work this morning, but he may come home early. He was still pretty weak. This virus is a tough one!!

JANIE, how are you? Don't forget that we are thinking of you and you're in our prayers.

Zoe, you are a dear friend and I know she will appreciate it.

DONNA, I forgot to say earlier that I'm glad that you now know what the problem was. Keep us updated.

JEN, have fun with Brandon.

DIANNE, hope Alana feels better soon. If she has the virus that is going around, I think it takes a while to get back to normal sometimes. Happy Anniversary, how many years?
Oh, Congrats on the maintain! I'm with you, they are as good as a loss. I mean, think of all the weeks we have had gains before we got OP.

ES, sorry to hear your cat is sick. My cat went missing a few years ago, I really miss him. I hope your family problems tone down soon. I know how much it hurts not being able to help your sister. I'll keep her and her family in my prayers.

SANDY, I hope you are okay. We miss you.

I hope I didn't miss anyone.

Terri,
I had to go back to page 3 to find out what you meant about the place where Oprah goes! I guess you meant Marshall Field's...it's the old famous department store that has their main store in downtown Chicago, with the iron clock which is always referred to as "meet me under the clock at Field's" ...They have stores in a few upscale malls also. They were famous for their Frango Mints, which were made here in Chgo. I guess you could call them the Macy's of Chicago.

The "shock and awe" phase of the Iraq bombing was chilling to watch this morning. We've become so inured to violence in movies and video games, it's hard to believe you're watching something real.

Joey had to bring his car into the shop today, and, being the nice Mom that I am, I let him take mine today to work....now I'm housebound! I had nowhere to go, so it worked out perfectly; however, it's a weird feeling to know that I can't just get up and go if I wish.

Joe, my brother and Joey booked a Canadian fishing trip for July; this evening they're going shopping to stock up on new gear. I get an evening alone....I think my tub is calling me!
Have a great Friday evening :)

Not that I shop there that often! but it's always been special to me, going back to when I was a child and I went there with my Mom and Gram.

Oh my goodness!!! We used to have Fields around here but there are not any more around. In the old Fields store is an Old Navy! Oh, that's just too funny!!!!

Jim and Elena were very sick today. I did take Elena to the doctor but it wasn't bacterial. Her temp was as high as 102.8!!! It was scarry to me because she never has fever. Both hers and Jim's fever has improved as of tonight but still Jim is not feeling well and Elena is still weak. It's something to see Elena staying in bed ALL DAY! You have to know my kid to know that's not like her!

Jen, you made me think of bubble baths and wine so guess what I did tonight! Had a nice bath with a wonderful glass of white zinfindel! LOL

Dianne, hope your weekend of anniversary bliss is wonderful! I read though that these cysts are always benign. I guess I'll find out a lot on Thursday.

Es, yes this is a horrible virus but that Asian thing has me a little concerned too. It's killing people instantly!

Janie, hope your retreat is refreshing for you. Mine was the other weekend! Congratulations on your weight loss!

Ruth, have a good weekend and I hope your studying goes well too. I'm glad also that your hubby is feeling better.

Terri, I keep hearing so many things about how they will remove this cyst. I'll just be glad when Thursday comes and I talk to the doctor. I just assume they just remove everything, it isn't doing me any good anyway! LOL LOL

Sandy... Where are you???? I was looking back and I don't see a post from you on this thread at all. I hope all is well. I have a friend on another thread that is dying of leukemia. It's so sad. Please hold my friend Kimbrely in your prayers.

Hi:wave:

Just came back from checking out a gym close to my house that just opened up. It's called Curves for Women. I have an appt. Tuesday at 6:PM to get a free workout. It's the hot workout these days cause you're done in 30 minutes. They combine cardio with strength training. I don't know how to tell my brother. I hope he won't be offended. :( It's just that his gym is a little too far for me & I don't want to interfere with his clients.

Donna, poor babies. I hope they feel much better real soon. That Asian thing is pretty scary huh! So many things going on this this world. :( Bubble bath & wine, hmmmm not a bad idea! :D

Ruth, gotta work those muscles. This may sound weird but when I feel sore after working out I feel good cause I know it was an intense workout that made me sore. :strong: I hope Maurice feels better.

Jen, I never heard of Fields. I love Target & Walmart. Clothes I buy in Penneys & Sears sometimes Macy's when they have a sale.

Dianne, so sorry I didn't get to wish you a safe & fun trip.

Janie, :cp: :dancer: WTG with losing!!!!!!!!!! Hope you enjoy the retreat. Sorry I missed you. You guys are hard to keep up with.

Terri, Fluffy seems to be feeling better. I'm keeping a close watch on her. As soon as she shows signs of not feeling well, off we go to the vet. Hi Brittany:wave:

Good morning buddies:

Well, we're back home and to say the trip wasn't quite what we expected would be the understatement of the year!

It was the road trip from **** We started out at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, so we would miss the rush hour traffic and figured we'd be at Binghamton by 11:30 p.m./midnight the lastest.

Well, 1st of all at soon as we hit upstate, we had torrential rain - unbelievable, lighting, thunder, the works. I don't know how willie drove in that mess. Then, the rain stopped and we had fog and you know there are no lights on the highway going into the mountains anyway, so it was pretty dark and hard to see. So hard as a matter of fact that we hit what we though was a patch of black ice but turned out to be a deer!! It was already dead and we went over it again (OMG - I hate even remembering it).

Then after all that, we ran out of gas!!! Willie was so busy trying to drive through all that mess, that he didn't notice the gas was low! So here we are, on a country road in the dark with no gas - it was like something out of a horror movie. Luckily a woman driving by stopped (brave woman, I would not have stopped for a man flagging me down on a dark country road - but.....hey.......I'm from NY, we have very suspicious minds:s: ) Anyway, it turned out that we were like 2 mins from a huge gas station and she went in front of us to lead us to it - apparently we had enough gas to make it there. It was almost funny when you think about it - we were so afraid to go further because we were at least by a couple of houses and here, all this time we were soooooooo close to the gas station:lol: Well, we can laugh about it now, but I was sooooooooo mad that he ran out of gas. I was in the back seat (Alana always sits in the front) so I didn't notice the gas problem.

Anyway, we finally got Alana to school and us to the hotel at about 2:30 a.m. and by then all I wanted was a shower and to hit the sack. - forget anniversary celebration, etc. I just wanted to sleep and so did he.

So that was Dianne & Willie & Alana's excellent adventure - NOT:lol: Well, thank God we're all safe and sound and back where we're supposed to be.

I hope you all had less exciting weekends that this one, lol. I'll talk to you's later.

Hugs,
Dianne

Good Sunday Evening ~

I'm sitting here waiting for Greg to finish up so we can get going. tonight is the Academy Awads and John Peter Smith hospital puts on a formal (black tie) Academy Awards dinner fund raiser that the company purchases a table for. Greg has to go so that means me too. Last year my dress was a size 16 and it was SO TIGHT. This year, a 12 and not too tight. :D:D I tried not to eat much today so that I could have dinner. We'll see how it goes. They come around with trays of champagne and I love champagne.

Dianne ~ you poor thing. I know what kind of roads are on the way to Binghamton. I lived in Delhi, outside of Oneonta and driving over those mountains is hazardous WITHOUT any problems. I'm so happy that you made it safely.

I hope you're all having a great night and relaxing before another week begins. Talk to you's guys tomorrow.

ES, Dianne's adventure did sound like a Chevy Chase movie!! But I don't think she was laughing! LOL I hope you like Curves. I think your brother will be understanding.

JEN, What movies did you rent. Maurice and I rented My Big Fat Greek Wedding and I Spy. We both loved MBFGW. I Spy with Eddie Murphy was funny, but we interupted with phone calls so we didn't watch it very closely. I'll have to rent it again.

Well, Terri, Sandi, Janie, Donna, I hope all is well with you guys.

Es, we have Curves around here too. I just didn't go there because we got a discount joing the Life Center which is affliated with the area hospital system here because of my hubby's surgery. I had a friend who stopped going there because it was always too crowded and she was waiting too long for a machine. I hope that the one near you is better to accomodate large memberships.

Zoe, Your puppy is SOOOOO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!! What a great picture!! And a size 12!!!!! :bravo: That's great!!!!!!!!!

Dianne, sorry for such a nightmare of a trip. I'm glad you lived to tell about it and glad that lady was there to help direct you. Had to be a angel.

Jen, did you enjoy your bubble bath and wine?? Mine was very nice after a long day going up and down the stairs to care for Elena and Jim. They are both doing much better today but hold Elena in your prayers she has Achievement tests in school all week and her concentration has not been the best lately. Thanks!
However, I experienced muscle pains in both my legs Saturday and Sunday and realized that going up and down gave me that work out for the day! LOL :strong:

Janie, How was the retreat? I hope it went well in spite of the low numbers.

Hello:wave:

Jen, I'm going to check out Curves on Friday. I had an appt. for tomorrow evening but I rescheduled. It's kind of expensive. I'll see what they offer. That's the talk around here. Everywhere I go I hear women talking about Curves. Being that's it's so popular, like Donna said, I don't want to be standing there waiting to go on a machine. How did you like the Banger Sisters? Goldie Hawn reminds me of my wild sister. It seemed strange watching Robin Williams playing that part right?

My co-workers started a challenge today. Whoever wants to participate pays $5 a week for one month. The one who loses the most weight gets the money. You know me, I'm in. We start tomorrow. We have 5 women. I did tell them I'm not weighing myself in front of anybody. I'm such a sucker for things like this.

Donna, I remember 2 summers ago we went to the end of Long Island, Montauk Point & they have a lighthouse. Pete talked me into going all the way to the top:yikes: I felt cripple for 1 week!!!! My legs were in so much pain but I didn't want him to know it so whenever he was with me I had to play it off like it was no big deal!! Never again!!!!!

Ruth, you are on a roll girl!;) Congratulations. You're doing great.

Zoe, size 12 was always my size back in the day:( It was so much easier when I was younger. Hope you had a nice time. BTW what a cute dog!!

Terri,
I agree w/you about The Banger Sisters...I don't care for Susan Sarandan to begin with, but thought I'd give the movie a chance. Well, Goldie Hawn has to accept her age! She's had too many tucks and enhacements...especially noticeable when she's in the tub scene, all glowing and bubbly, but her hand looks like a claw. In my opinion, she wasn't acting in that movie

Es,
Go for it! You'll beat all those people and get the $$$ I'm behind you all the way :D My SIL said the same thing about Women's Workout World... that there was always a wait for machines.

Zoe,
forgot to mention how too cute Zoe is!!!

We had an absolutely gorgeous day here..sunny and 74 :D Brandon and I played frisbee and some basketball...until Gram missed a rebound, and the ball went into a neighbor's yard, they have a dog....and that was that  I then proceeded to lose 6 games of Go Fish, Aggravation, and Scrabble...

Good Morning y'all ~

What a beautiful and sunny day here in Fort Worth. I would love to not go to work today and do something outdoors. Ahhhhh, spring really HAS sprung. :D

Thank you all for your kind comments about my baby, Zoe. Although she isn't a BABY, she'll be 8 in December. She's just so little. She is named Zoe because that's the name I would have given another daughter, should I have had one. When that didn't happen, my puppy did so she got the name. Hence my name here. (although most of you know my name is Patti)

Terri ~ What a great memory you have. Yes, Zoe is part chihuahua, part yorkie. I am thinking about getting a pom or full chihuahua after we move.....we'll see.

The Academy Award Black Tie Affair was fun but I just wish it wasn't on a Sunday. But that's when the real awards are so they have no choice. Had too much champagne and woke up with a headache yesterday. Had too much food too so my week hasn't been good. And I gained last Saturday at WI, "point 2" but still, a gain.

Well, gotta run. Hello to everyone and have a blessed Tuesday.

HI everyone,
There has been so much posted since I was last here there is no way I could possibly address everyone about everything. SO I won't even try ;)

I am sorry that some of you/your family have been sick. Ellen broke her arm over the weekend while I was away at the retreat. She is fine but she will be in a cast for several weeks.

The retreat was nice but definately not as much fun as last year. I was in charge of the music and I think that it came out ok. I didn't hear too many complaints.

This weekend Steve, Ellen, her friend Cloe, Steve's sister, and BIL are going camping. I'm not going becuase I have a workshop to attend. I am looking forward to the quiet evenings of solitude.

Have a great Wed,

Hi:wave:

Janie, welcome back. Sorry about Ellen.:( Kids heal so fast. She'll be fine.

Zoe, happy to hear you had a good time at the affair.

I went to Curves after work & signed up for one month. So many women were walking in to get information. All shapes & sizes, old & young. I think I'm going to like it. I go for my orientation Friday morning. Can't wait. :strong:

Gotta go eat. I'm starving. :ink:

Love,
Es

Hi everyone

ZoeGirl - little Zoe is sooooooooooo adorable. OMG, if I could have a pet, that's the kind I would want. I love little dogs, but they can't grow and they can't lick me:lol: I "skeeve" animals licking me, I know........I'm weird, what can I say. But Zoe is really, really cute. Glad you had a good "awards" night and great job on that size 12. Don't sweat the .2 - you'll get rid of that in a day or so.

Es - Good luck with Curves. Let us know how that goes. Maybe since you'll probably be going on Fridays, it won't be so crowded? I give you credit for sticking with the exercise. Right now my exercising is down the drain, along with my points and my willpower, but it will get better.

Ruth - Congrats on the 3.8 lbs loss :bravo: Wow, you' re doing really well. Keep it up, girl, lose some for me, :D

Janie - Sorry to hear about Ellen - poor kid. Hope she heals fast.

Jen - Tooooooooo funny about Goldie Hawn's "claw" Its true though, no matter how many nips and tucks these people get, the hands always give them away. I saw the Banger sisters too, it was okay, but she was really wild. I liked Bringing Down the House more. Speaking of bringing down the house, I think Steve Martin was a great host at the Oscars. He was funny without getting too nasty. I like him. Did you have fun with Brandon?

Donna - Hope Elena and Jim are doing better!

Terri - Hope you're having fun with the kids this week.

Hi Sandy, how are you doing?

Hope I didn't miss anyone, if I did I'm so sorry.

Will talk to you's tomorrow, hopefully. Take care everyone.

Hugs,
Dianne

Despite the great time we had together, the minute the door closed after Brandon left, I was missing him already!

Es, good going on signing up at Curves :) let us know how you like it!

Janie, awww that's too bad about Ellen, how did it happen? At least it'll be healed by summer? Hope you're doing ok.

Dianne, I agree with you, Steve Martin did a good job hosting the Oscars. I cracked up when I read what you wrote about dogs licking you  and don't blame you a bit!

Has anyone besides Donna seen the new avatars available on this site? They've added quite a few new ones.

hi to everyone
see you tomorrow,

Thanks, Dianne for asking about Jim and Elena. They are BOTH doing much better. Jim was sick most of the weekend but Elena was much better by Sunday. She still has some congestion but other than that cough she is fine.

Janie, Sorry the retreat wasn't as good as you had hoped for. Did you all have a speaker? We had one at ours. Sorry about Ellen's break. I hope she isn't in any pain.

Jen, I missed the Oscars. I meant to watch them but something else was going on but don't ask me to remember what it was... LOL I am having a hard time trying to LOCATE my digital camera!!!! UGH! I am afraid I left it in Atlanta but then again I don't recall actually taking it.

Es, glad your Curves sounds better than the ones that I've heard about around here. I did my Pilates this morning and pulled weeds in my yard yesterday so I'm SORE today! LOL Anyway, it's good for me.. RIGHT!??? LOL

Terri, Sandy, Ruth, Zoe Hello! AND EVERYONE have a good evening. I have my appt. with the gynecologist tomorrow morning. I will let you all know what he says.

Hi:wave:

I'm at work:( This morning one of my co-workers came into my office with a card & a gift, blew me a kiss cause I was on the phone with a client, then walked away. Now, I totally lost track what I was telling this client trying to figure out why this person left this on my desk. I open the card & it said hope you HAD a happy birthday. I cracked up!!!! She thought my birthday was yesterday, she had it marked down on her calendar & everything! She turned so red when I told her it's April 26th. I gave her a big hug & told how much I appreciate that she thought of me.

Later buddies:D

Es

Zoe,
Your little ZOe is such a cutie, and your house is going to be beautiful!!

Dianne,
As much as I love animals, I don't like them licking me either!!

Everyone,
I WI this morning and I'm up 1 lb. I am not too upset about it though because 1) TOM is around the corner, and 2) I didn't have much control of my food at the retreat, although I tried to make good choices. I was expecting worse.

Have a lot of work to do, Take care!!

Jen,
I'll bet you didn't let him win did you?
That sounds like fun.
I know what you mean about Goldie. Her hands looked old. I couldn't get past Susan's butt. It really sagged in those pants. Nice to see some other women getting old.
Thanks for remembering! Yes he leaves Friday. And I hate for the kids to go back to school.
Today is my birthday so I am glad he is here for that. I am 44 today!!!!!!!!!!!!!WOW!!!! Almost 1/2 way through.
I woke up to flowers and cards. I will get my gifts tonight after the movie and dinner. Britts will set it up. She made the cake. BTW,She gave up bread products for Lent and she forgot there could be a perk. She lost 12 pounds so far. She is so happy. She feels more energized too. She likes the feeling.

Zoe,
.2 is not bad. Just chalk it up to a good time and I bet you lose more than that at next weigh-in. Glad you had a good time.
My mom always had chihuahuas. They are adorable.

Janie,
So sorry about Ellen's arm. Poor thing.
You will get that pound off in no time.

Dianne,
I loved Bringing down the House. Too funny. I love both Queen Latifha and Steve Martin.

I love when Tanner licks me. I guess I am weird.
Well, we are seeing a movie tonight for my birthday, don't know what yet though. I'll catch up again later.

THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the gifs!!!! :grouphug: :grouphug:
Y'all made me feel so special!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went out for dinner and came home to a dark house and 44 candles lit on the cake. I thought there was a bon fire  I got the Lethal Weapon DVD set. Britts, Brandon and Bradley got me the Seven Brides for Seven Brothers DVD and made me a DVD and one of the songs is Celine Dion's new song: I Drove All Night.
Love that song. I wasn't supposed to get a b-day present from Bruce cause he bought that printer/copier etc... a few weeks ago. He can't stand to not give something on the actual day. I am like that. I'll tell Brittany "That is an early Christmas present" and I cave all the time.

Thanks again. Tomorrow I take Bruce to the airport :( and this weekend the Blue Angels are here for an Air show and we might go to that. :D
