Sherry - Way to go on the candy bar! Although, I think you give me too much credit....I'm fairly sure I would have told the voice in my head to shut the h*ll up!

I thought I was doing SO well today...went to the Chinese buffet with husband for lunch and was SO good about watching my portions, making good choices...well, I just found out that General Tzao's chicken is a bad, bad choice :nono: ! 15 POINTS FOR A CUP!!!!! So, I went over by 18 points today...but I'm okay with it. Now I know better. :o

Hey Sher: Instead of the money spent on a vending machine, we need to start a FLOOZIE FUND. Money spent on candy, bad food choices, saved back so we can eventually get together and meet each other! What do you girls think?????

Sherry-Good for you!! That's a BIG step!!

Jennelle-Don't sweat it. One day won't matter if you continue to stay OP.

Girls-Did I tell you that I am participating in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life? It is on March 28-29. It should be fun--the youth group that I am advisor for is the team that I have. We haven't gotten our goals for donations, so I hope it doesn't matter. I will find out Tuesday night when I have to turn in the money. My daughter, me, and 1 other girl in the group are the only ones really trying! We are supposed to get at least $100.00 each, with a total of $1300.00 for all our team members. I'm sure they won't kick us out (I hope!!) My father is walking in the survivor's lap, which is the first one of the night. It should be a great event!

Got my hair cut really, really short yesterday and my whole family hates it, but I love it!! They think I need to grow it shoulder length again, but come on----I'll be 50 this year and it's time to grow up!!

Have a great day, and love to you all!

Shelley: The relay for life sounds like you will have great fun and will also be doing something to raise cancer awareness. Our relay for life starts late in the afternoon and we have teams walking all night long until dawn on the track. The start of dusk, into the darkness and finally daylight represents the emotions that a cancer patient feels. Really cool. We also have luminaries that people purchase as a memorial for a cancer surviver or someone who has passed. Very emotional and so beautiful when they are all lighted!

BTW Shelley: Around here they won't kick you out if you do not meet goal. It's just a nice motivational factor. Be sure to clap extra hard for me when your Dad makes his survivers lap!!!!!!!!

Good morning, ladies!!

No, I didn't fall off the face of the earth . . . a mix of family stuff (brother-in-law's dad died), being sick with a sinus infection and also having a "sick" computer all contributed to my not being around.

But I'm feeling better, re-committed to this weight loss thing, and my 'puter's been upgraded so . . . I'm baaaaaaaaaacccckk!

Missed you guys - have a lot of catching up to do! Wishing you all a wonderful day!

Hi everyone. Gosh, where does the time go? I'm 99% sure that time didn't go this fast when I was working, or at least it seemed to slow down for the 8 1/2 hours I was at the funny farm.

Ramona, yes, I'm still enjoying retirement and am finally seeing some retirement checks. I'm pretty much stuck in this area for another couple of weeks but after that, I will probably look seriously in a getaway of some sort. Of course, when I hear Nashville is in the 70's, I'm ready to pack up and go... We were close yesterday, but then it rained last night and it's cold again today.

I promise to check in periodically. Hopefully, by tomorrow, it will warm enough that I can start in the garage and figure out what is out there and why. Somehow, I expect 60% of it has no real purpose except to take up space. Then Saturday is suppose to be my first outdoor auction for the year. Just what I need -- more stuff!!

I hope everyone is doing great. I saw some great weight losses when going through. Keep it up.

Hello all.

Can you believe it. I am still here. I have 2 1/2 OP days!!!! WooHoo for me!!! :cb: The reason I say 1/2 is I haven't had dinner yet and it will surely be a test for me tonight.
We are going to a dairy banquet that usually serves things like:
mashed potatoes, gravy, noodles, corn, green beans, fried chicken and/or steak smothered in gravy. Along with rolls, ice cream and pie.

Now I am not trying to make anyone hungry for this stuff, I just need some input as to how I am going to stay OP with all this stuff. The only good part is that it is a buffet so I do have some control.

What do you think. Chicken without the skin, steak after I scrap off as much gravy as I can and maybe green beans. Does that sound okay? HELP!!! :?:

Hubby and I went to a nearby YMCA to see about joining. They have a fitness center among other things. But it is sooooo expensive. I am still trying to decide and Hubby really won't be able to go at the same time I go because that is when he will be milking those cows!

Decisions, decisions... but I am determined to do something just as soon as this darn ankle feels better. I could at least go swimming...

How is everyone else doing today?

Welcome back to those, like me, who have been absent for awhile but are now regrouping and joining this new way of life again!!! We can do it ladies!!

I think I will go eat some kind of meat or something before I leave for this banquet so maybe I won't be tempted to eat the wrong things and too much at that!!!

Have a great evening ladies. I will report back to you tomorrow.

Hugs to my friends.
Carol

Carol, eating something before you go may help keep you from going nuts around that delicious food.....and yes, you made me hungry!!!
Just try to peal off any flour from the chicken and like you said, scrape the gravy off the steak and eat the green beans.

Good luck to you!!!!!

Carol one of the things that I do is fill my plate half full of vegetables. One quarter meat and the other quarter a starch. Do not let any of the food touch either and that takes up some of the space on the plate. Good idea to have something before you leave home too. Good luck.

Walked probably 2-3 miles all over the Vanderbilt campus (took son on his very first college tour today!) and then in downtown Nashville looking for the NASCAR Cafe to buy something for a friend's dad. (I found out it closed down about six months ago. )

What I did NOT do today was eat healthily, but I planned for that! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Jack in the Box! They only used to be in California (where I grew up.) The closest one to me now is in Nashville - about 200 miles away! So, it's a rare treat! I also brought home a 30 case (well...a 26 case, after son and I took our share!) of White Castles. Hubby is from Chicago, where they originated, and joneses for them all the time. (He doesn't like the frozen ones you can buy at the store...says they just don't taste the same.)

Sherry and Debbie....I feel almost guilty that I was in your neck of the woods and didn't try to meet up with you! I had son with me, though, and when I come to visit we need to make it a WILD WOMEN'S NIGHT!

Thank you all for you input on how to avoid falling off plan at the banquet. I am pleased to say that I managed to stay OP

I had the steak, cheese and cole slaw. Now I am not sure what kind of dressing was on the cole slaw, but it was the best veggie they had for me to eat. (no green beans) Anyway, I was full by the time I got done with that, so no problem!!!

I stayed away from the pie and ice cream (a major feat for me. So if I strayed at all it was with the dressing on the cole slaw and the way I figured it, I was so good all day, a few carbs weren't that bad!! I figure it was a good OP day.

BTW I did eat some meat before I left for the banquet as well in order to keep me from going nuts over everything!! Thanks for your help ladies. Your a great group!!

How are the rest of you doing? Hanging in there I hope.

You all have another great OP day and I will talk to you later.

Girls-If any of you buy stuff through the Internet, please consider going to www.dollarback.com and type in peace when it asks for the organization ID. This will get you into the page that will give a portion of whatever you spend at the participating online store. Anytime that you buy online, please go there first and see if your store is on it. I know Spiegel is, Gap, Walmart, Target, lots of good ones. This will cost you nothing, and will donate a little to my Sisterhood (this was my idea, so I definitely need people using it!)

Good Evenin' Ya'll

I'm one tired FLOOZIE tonight! :( We spent the day cleaning out our basement. With 14 years of accumulation, it was a mess.So after 3 truck loads, 6 hours later.....we got done! We were too tired to go to Debbie's house for her hubby's B/day...but maybe she'll forgive us.

Debbie****So....Do you forgive us??? PLEASE...PLEASE? You knew that's what we had planned for the day since we had Chris' truck...BUT we just didn't know it would take so LONG! And didn't know we would be so tired! So don't me mad...ok best friend? :spin: I hope James had a great BD!! :hat:

Shelley**** I think you're ok for posting that! :) I don't think it's the kind of advertising that I'll get spammed on...so you're fine! How did the spaghetti dinner go?

Gayle****Wow.....You are one busy woman! Talk about me!! LOL!! How's the Home & Leisure show going? I hope you're not too tired to post Sunday night.Tell us all about it!! And...SLOW down some! (That's what you tell me!!)

Ramona**** Ya'll are doing so good on Atkins!!! I'm so poud of you!! I find myself going to the Easter challenge and reading your menus.Maybe I'll start in the next week or so.In the meantime I'll watch my fat grams and walk!!How are the boys????

Dee**** How are you? How's Dez? You havent posted the last few days like you usually do and I'm worried. You are doing awsome on your walking!! YOU GO GIRL!! I'm so happy and proud of you!! Still got snow? I was going to tell you how pretty it was here today but didn't want to rub it in! :lol: Take Care sweetie! {{{ hugs }}}

Dee (Titan Card Fan)**** How did the outdoor auction go? Did you get your garage cleaned out? It's a job isn't it?! We have a full size unfinished basement which holds too much junk! But now atleast you can walk down there! LOL! BTW: When will you be back in Nashville? We need to set up a meeting place when you do!!

Doni**** I KNOW exactly what you mean by a weight being lefted off by filing bankruptcy. We filed about 7 years ago.Mostly medical bills when Drew was in & out of the hospital so much. We hated to but it was the only way out. With all this behind you now, START being OP!!! You can do it!! What plan are you going with?

Carol****Good job at being so good at the dinner!!! You made very good choices! I'm soooo happy that you're back to posting regular too!!! :) I really did miss you & I'm so happy that my emails paid off! Hope I didn't bug you too much!! Luv ya girl!!

Jennelle****I understand that you didn't have time to call Debbie & I when you were in Nashville...but wish you did! LOL! Would have loved to see you!! That was so funny when you said that you loved Jack in the Box because we have 2 very close to my house and I have never eaten there!!

Vicki****I love to walk when the weather is great too! Wow...isn't the weather nice!? Glad to hear that things are going well for you! Please don't get too busy to post though!!

Donna**** I'm so glad that you posted and are back!! ;) I wondered what happened to you!! Glad that your feeling better too! What plan are you going to follow? I need ideas!!! (Cheap ones too! LOL)

The spaghetti dinner was a success!! The kids netted over $200.00 (we are a very small temple.) My DH did all the cooking, and everyone loved the food. We still have enough left over to have another one in June. The kids are so proud of themselves. There are only about 10 or 12 in the youth group.

Doni-Good luck on your new eating plan. Remember--1 day at a time, or even 1 hr. at a time!!

Sherry-Sounds good, maybe I'll have money by then.
I can't believe how dedicated you are to cleaning out and keeping clean!! If you saw my house, you'd have a fit!! I am going to try doing some stuff this week. Monday I am going to work on the yard, though. I would love to also rearrange my purses. I have over 100 of them, and they are all hanging on a small clothing display rack. I used to have them all lined up around my huge closet shelf, but I needed the shelf for other things. My closet is so full, I don't know what to do with them. Any ideas? I like to keep them sorted into the same colors. Also, what do you use for lime deposits and rust? We have septic and it is so hard to keep the toilets and sinks clean. You sound like such and expert, any tips would help!!

Time to go run!

Shelley,

You posted again at 6:00am on a Sunday!! Don't you ever sleep late??? You kill me!!

I laughed when you said I must be an expert! NOT!!! I'm just so picky and wish I wasn't!!! Our underwear and sock drawer is even color coordinated!! That kills Wayne!! LMAO!!

For those lime & rust deposits, Have you tried the new FIZZ bowl drops? They are WONDERFUL!! A little high priced but worth every penny!! Also, at the Dollar Store, I like their brand of "Rust & Mildrew Remover." It comes in a spray and I use it for the tub and I pour some in the toilet which helps too.

For the purses: Did you say 100??? WOW!!! Buy some cheap storage bins to put them in.They will slid right under your bed or stack up in a closet (This is great for shoes too!)

Glad to hear that the spaghetti went well and the youth made money! WTG!!

Morning Everyone!!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I slept until 8.30 this morning, it felt good to sleep in. Last night we all had a wonderful time. We played horseshoes until dark and then sat out on the porch for dinner. The weather was great!

Sherry...You silly girl!! I'm not upset about last night. I hate that you missed it and that you work so hard but not upset that you couldn't make it.

Shelley....Glad your spaghetti dinner went good. I'm like Sherry...100 PURSES!! I may own 2 purses , one for winter and one for summer. Now shoes...that's a diffferent subject..LOL.

Gayle....Please post tonight and tell us how the Home show went. I agree, you are starting to work as hard as Sherry. You guys make me tired...LOL.

Carol....How is your weekend going? Weekends are hard for me, no set time to eat and usually no meals planned in advance. But I did good last night. Probably over my limit on carbs, but all in all...I did good.

Doni.....On your new plan are you watching your fats, carbs or calories? Good luck at whatever you decide.

Donna...So glad you are back and feeling better. :D

To all my floozies friends. Hope everyone is doing OK and the weather is warm where you are. Near 70 here today!!. Hugs!!!

Wow-I thought everyone had a bunch of purses!! Mine has to match either my shoes or what I am wearing. I can't go anywhere without my purse blending in with what I wear. I've always been that way.

Sherry-Storage bins won't do. I have to have the purses where I can see them. Right now, I have them hanging up on the rack, but they are really in the way because it is right in the middle of the closet. BTW, this closet is actually the size of a bedroom. I also have my ironing board in there, shoes are on racks around the bottom of all the walls (I am also loaded with shoes!!) I have a wire storage unit on one side with slips, stockings, sweaters, etc. in it. On the opposite side, I have a professional belt rack. All my belts don't fit on it, so some of them are also hanging on the purse rack in those hanging things that you store shoes in. Should I tell you that I am also a belt fanatic?? I'm afraid to count those!! I have them color coordinated on the belt rack even as far as all the black with silver buckles are separted from the black with gold buckles!! The black ones alone take up 3 of the hinges on the rack!!:D Of course, when I go to look for a belt to match something, I never have the right thing!!:dizzy:
