Hey everyone. 8 pages seemed like a lot, so I started a new thread. Hope no one minds...

Very exciting/sad news at my job. One of my co-workers' husbands forged federal documents saying that he was a diplomat so he could bypass security at airports. They went away to Dallas 2 weekends ago, and he dropped his fake documents in a store. The store called the federal government (i think in order to give them back), and that was when the government realized what was going on...

My friend called in sick on Friday, and the feds came to work looking for her. She was out sick again yesterday, and it made all news channels that he was arrested on a felony count, and is being extradited to Dallas. If he carried a weapon on a plane (which these papers allowed him to do) he will also be brought up on federal charges.

It is very sad. I have been in their home for dinner. They have driven me home from work a number of times. How very weird.

Anyway. With all of the excitement, I stayed up late watching the news, and was too tired to work out this morning. I am going to go to bed early to make sure I don't blow off tomorrow as well.

Well, I hope everyone has a good day.
Meg

Hello ladies,

Wow, Meigg what an interesting story about your co-worker's husband. Why would he be carrying a gun?

Coolmom you and I have a lot in common.. my hubby and I own a business too, a commercial greenhouse, I work there filling up the greenhouses and then selling everything from Feb. till the end of June, plus do the office work all year round. I am also Catholic and though I don't agree with everything I am and always will be a Catholic. Just feel better being a part of it.

Pam, I am glad you are finding something to believe in, and that your dh is going along with you.. IT's so nice to believe in something, it can really get you through many bad times.

Hello to everyone else, hope you are all having an op day..
oh and no we did not blow away with the winds,, but they are still blowing, they blew out a door at the greenhouse today. That is one of our major problems downthere.. wind...well with plastic walls,,

I am still going strong with my woe...and its getting easier.. I just don't want alot of the wrong things.. am eating more fruit, and veggies and I'm liking it,, cause I am feeling so good.... my body may be aching from the work I am doing, but my innards are doing great..:D if you know what I mean.

Hi Ladies,
Meg..what a cute little pic you have there :) wow..what a silly thing for your co-workers hubby to do just to get through the airport quicker  well..i assume thats why he did it.

I received 2 letters from Jacqui yesterday..that girl never sits still  she is training to be an air stewardess now on top of modelling one of her friends is one and she went to Las Vegas for 45 pounds and New York for 5 days for 2 people was only 35 pounds :yikes:
She sent me a couple of pics of Olivia and even sent me a key ring with one of her in it ;) her letters made me laugh as i can tell she is going to spoil that little girl rotten ;) she wrote
"Olivia is 11lbs now, clothes were lovely..gosh..she has loads of stuff, about 10 pairs of different shoes..boots..slippers  and coats. She has a little furry one in cream, looks like a little eskimo in that..going to get her some more toys today she likes bright things with music so will get her some nice stuff from E.L.C. and Toys r Us and more clothes..got her some stuff yesterday from asda..can't wait till we go on holiday see what she makes of that.
She is smiling and giggling..its funny and she whacks her toys on her mat the midwife said she is advanced for her age" Sounds like a proud MOM to me :D Anyway, here she is @ 5 hours old.

Morning!

Dahlia, yea, inards! I hear you about Catholicism -- when you are named after St Theresa (no comments, here Cat!) you are almost afraid to change your religion, even if you want to!

Hey, what a cutie-patootie, Cathy!!! And, Jacqui is indeed a proud mom. Isn't it a strange (in a good sense) feeling to watch your kids take on another role as in Jacqui being a mom? You must be very proud of her as she is one busy lady. Here in the States if someone in your immediate family works for an airline, family members -- as in YOU! -- get a hefty discount. Well, that was the case anyway before the airline industry took a nose dive because of the economy. I bet it's hard not to make those reservations now that you have seen that little girl!

Heck, that little Olivia will be stacking wood like her Grandma in no time. Thanks for sharing her with her adopted cyber aunts here! :)

Meg, thanks for sending me the web site -- what a difference your weight loss has made already! Setting up your own site is great incentive to keep up the momentum of losing weight.

Tired this morning ... didn't sleep well because I kept having nightmares. Then woke up to find a cat sleeping on my chest with her butt in my nose :dizzy: . Stayed OP yesterday and did manage to get my 2-mile WATP in. Hope I can keep this routine up -- mighty tired today and going back to bed for 20 minutes is looking more and more attractive. If I get into that habit though, I'll never get my work out done in the mornings. I really want to lose this weight this time around ....

OK, time for more coffee -- that should rev my engine a bit.

Pam -- morning!

Catch you all on the rebound and have a great day .... :)

Good morning ladies,

Cool mom... I was named after the Virgin Mary herself.. so I sure know what you mean ...:)

Olivia is a doll.. so precious.. bet you can't wait to hold her yourself... being a granny is the best thing in life... next to being a mom of course. Is Jacqui your daughter? afraid I am a little behind here on that one...do I have this right, she just became a mom and now wants to be a stewardess? and she is a model?
all I can say is WOW!!!

Well, got to go to work.. have a great op day all.. will check in this evening.

Good Morning Ladies

Cathy, Olivia is absolutely prescious. What a little doll. Thanks for posting the pic...she's gorgeous. I'd love to see her in her little Eskimo outfit :)

Thank you all for your support on my finding my faith. It is greatly appreciated and so nice to get perspective from others. Thank you again.

Well had a good day yesterday and was a good girl and did my homework. I spent an hour on one question but I finally figured it out and was feeling like a proud peacock after. I really thought I was going to have to breakdown and call my tutor last night. I guess I'm just stubborn...I want to figure it out myself.

I get to babysit Makenzie tonight after work for an hour or so, so I'm looking forward to that. She's a bit over a year now and walking and jabbering up a storm. She just makes my heart melt when I walk in and she gives me that big grin and walks over with her arms out to be lifted up. Her giggle is quite infectious and she will be welcome relief after a day at work.

I better go hit the shower now, speaking of work, and get a move on this a.m.

Hugs to all and have a great OP day.

Hi guys...

I went to bed really early last night. My arm started hurting again. I had a heating pad on it. I still hurt this morning so I didn't want to go to the gym.

My girlfriend showed up late to work today. She is wearing all black.

Anyway, I am exhausted. Not enough coffee. I am going for more. Just wanted to check in to say hi!

Morning Ladies..Terry..kept having nightmares :?: i'm not surprised really with a cats smelly bum stuck up your nose  was'nt anything to do with being 'stuck' in the middle of a dunkin donuts and pizza place was it ? speaking of donuts i went out with hubby yesterday (for a ride) he had to see that specialist about his leg so i 'amused' myself by going in safeway's and buying chips..donuts and hagen daz ice cream lollies  i had 3 long john's last night and i've had 2 this morning :yikes: i don't normally like donuts that much but these are so good..its not helping that hubby is'nt helping me eat them...that's the last time i buy these :hyper:
Dahlia..yeh..you're right on all four counts :) Jacqui is my daughter, model, new mom and wannabe air stewardess...i was wondering last night if she could get cheap airfares to come and see me..they are going to Alicante in June and the Bahama's for christmas..and she said that once she starts this job she will never be home...i'll work on the relatives cheap airfares too :s:
Pam..good job with the homework..you are stubborn (just like me) i would have done exactly the same thing :)
Meg..sounds like you done something serious to that arm maybe a trip to the doc is in order?

good morning -

well, i have more on the friend story...apparently she doesn't understand why the fbi came and ransacked her house. she is SOOOO blind. i guess he really has her fooled. she is upset because she is going to lose their new house, and they might deport him (which means she is going to divorce him). apparently it was $50,000 just to hire the attorney, and $250,000 cash/bond to get him out of jail. if it were me? i would have already served divorce papers. there is no way i would go into debt like that for him. let his family do it.

on a brighter note, i got up at 5:30 and made it to the gym. i feel great. i also talked to the people at starbucks and they have a drink that fits with atkins - sugar free syrup, espresso, and heavy cream. it is fab - i am drinking one now.

dan and i have been struggling becuase we owe over $2,000 in taxes. he worked 88 hours in overtime to pay the bill, and then his company said they wouldn't pay it. Thankfully, they changed their minds yesterday, and we are getting it. Perhaps a new outfit is in my future as well!

Hope everyone has an OP day!

Morning Buddies,
Hey Meg thanks for the link i'll check out your page later ;) where is your friends hubby from? i thought he was American...my husband asked if he was a terrorist..i said i don't think so i think he just wanted a quick way to get through airports but it makes you wonder now  what a shame for your friend..she will be in debt forever :yikes: i would get rid of him NOW like you said. I tried to find something about the story on the net but was'nt successful..i'm :nose: 'y  if it was that easy for him to 'dupe' airport staff just how safe are we?

I've had a 'bad' week this week..in fact..i have'nt tried at all..just can't seem to get into a routine :( don't realy know what i'll do and i'm not really bothered at the moment i have so many other things on my mind :dizzy: i really want to get motivated as we've only got just over 2 months and then June will be upon us :(
I'll do some 'surfing' later on maybe i'll find some motivation from other people who have reached their goals..i just love looking at the before and after pics..got to go make brekky. BBL

WI this morning and it wasn't pretty -- up 2.5 lbs. Talk about spitting nickels.

It all started Wednesday when I was browsing thru a Victoria Secret catalogue that came in the mail and got so totally frustrated with their thin bods and all the nice clothes and my fat one. I am not sure what bothered me more -- their bodies or the clothes that I want to wear and can't. Been OP all week and managed to get in 5 WATPs -- blew it big time yesterday with food and no APs.

My mantra today, "I will not give in," "I will not give in" -- I wish I had done that yesterday!

Been working and crashing early all week -- everytime I think of coming to post, I am too pooped to pop. Takes me awhile to get acclimated to new routines, old lady that I am! :dizzy:

Meg, good for you for getting to the gym! Yep, your friend's hubby is in big trouble -- pretty extreme measures to go through just because he doesn't like to stand in line. Alterior motives there for sure. I do feel sorry for his wife as her world isn't pretty right now either.

Cathy, I hear ya, it's tough to get motivated and stay that way if your mind's not ready yet. Good luck browsing success stories -- they do work for me. Smart hubby -- I thought terrorist too.

Well, if I am to get to the hairdresser this afternoon, I had better shake a leg -- heck, if I am going to lose weight, I better shake more than just a leg! :D

Later gators!

Hey guys!

Well, my hubby brought up the old clothes from the basement. Only 2 pairs of jeans and one pair of pants with matching sweater fit. Today I am going to Marshall's at lunch to try on a few things. I am hoping to pick up two spring outfits. Believe it or not, Dan actually encouraged me. I guess we have a little extra $ this month. He is really proud of how I am sticking with it. Every day when I make a good choice, or get on the scale, etc., he says "Meg's doin' it!" It is really cute.

I am right between a 12 and 14 now. I was between a 16 and a 1x a year ago. But, as we all know, I haven't really been "doin' it" since recently.

I have been eating too much sugar this week, resting on my laurels. Bad. I need to make sure I cut all that out.

Today I am starting fresh, only 2 pounds up (easily lost I hope).

Hope everyone has an OP day!

Hi Lasses
Woke up with the intention of being 'good' today and while i made hubby's brekky the toast (with loads of butter melting on it :T ) looked so good that i decided to make some for myself..i had 2 pieces and it was so good that i had 2 more  it was white bread too and i usually only have wholewheat so i was really 'bad' was'nt i? :s:  bad cat!! i've really got to get my act together here and :drill: GET WITH THE PROGRAM!!!
While i was out shopping yesterday i bought a gel seat cover for my bike because i'm definitely going to start using that..i washed it yesterday and its all sparkly and ready to hit the road and while i'm breaking it in again i'm hoping my bum won't be as numb this time
Terry..Spitting Nickels  you crack me up! i can't believe that you've gained!! you are being so good! don't let it throw you just keep going and weigh in again in the morning..if your monster is anything like mine you will have lost that couple of pounds overnight (grrr)

Good morning all,

Terry, maybe it's just a fluke.. gaining those 2 pounds.. maybe your scale was having a bad day, just pretend it didnt' happen and keep doing what you know you should be doing, and next time you step on the scale, it will be back like it should be.. stay positive..:)

Meg, hurrrayyyy... down a whole size and getting new clothes... that is terrific.. keep that good feeling,,

Coolmom, I hear you on the acclimitizing to the new hours,, I still come home from working all day on my feet and doze off around 8 when I finally sit down for a bit... this getting old is the pits.. but I better get used to it soon, another 6 weeks and I'll be working 10 hr. days, 7 days a week...

Grandma G. hope all is going well with you, and everyone else.
I've been staying op.. and getting in more exercise.. been doing a lot more walking at work too. Yesterday we put in a jazz tape and were moving while we planted... my hips are sore today..:) but its a good soreness, if you know what I mean. and I'm sure you all do. We also have been going from one house to another, we have 17 of them to fill,, so we do get around..which is good.

I'm going to an estate sale this morning when I finish my book work, and out of town shopping this afternoon. They are my rewards for being good all week. Also, we went out for fish again last night,,, and the scale was still good to me this morning...so I am still feeling good about my plan. Just hope I see the results I am hoping for come Easter...

Morning Gang!!

:) 'Tis Monday -- up and attem everyone!

Wow, it was 63 deg yesterday and everyone was in spring fever mode and itching to do yard work -- unfortunately, there's still snow on the ground :dizzy: ! Although, a lot melted and it's suppossed to be a nice week with temps 50s-60s so hopefully we'll be seeing grass soon.

Tough weekend with food but I have noticed my clothes fit so much better so I am not too down in the dumps. Really psyched to continue with exercise despite my slacking off with food so all is not lost in the motivation dept.

Sorry I didn't get around to posting over the weekend -- worked Saturday and did errands on Sunday. Chris (17 yr old son) needed new contacts and glasses, had to return a bum walkman, other errands, etc. Busy Sunday -- didn't get to the grocery store so that's on the agenda after work today. No rest for the wicked! :)

Dahlia, sounds like fun planting and putzing to jazz tunes! I love jazz and blues myself. And, of course, nothing like the oldies cranked up high! Hope you find some good stuff at the estate sale -- fun to browse even if you don't.

Bike riding! Cathy, I have not been on a bike in mucho, mucho years and would probably end up with broken legs. You live in such a beautiful area -- I imagine you can find some really scenic routes to bike through. You're close enough to ride into town too aren't you? Be careful!!

Butter is a red light food for me -- popcorn with real butter is to die for as well as warm bread smothered in the stuff. :smug: I have been using the "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" spray; however, I can believe it's not butter because there's nothing quite like the real thing! :) .

Chris is cranky this morning -- hopefully this is just the teen years and not his true personality. Mumbling because I didn't wash a particular shirt last night -- hey, he knows where the washing machine is too. I swear boys are worse than girls -- I don't remember Katie being so picky. One murder by mom, coming up!

Morning Meg -- wearing green today?! Happy St Patrick's Day to all!

Pam and Grandma, I hope all is well.

OK, ladies, time to get this show on the road. I really want to get in some exercise before I leave for work -- just too dang tired when I come home.

Have a great one!

Happy St. Paddy's day to all of you.. I am not in the least bit Irish, but it's a fun day anyway... love the accent...:)

Didn't do to good on food this weekend either, bought some snacks cause the kids were over, and I indulged in a few also, but taking the rest to work today for the people to devour, so I won't have it in the house anymore...

Have a good one all, stay op and enjoy the day and the fine weather.. the sun is up already here, course the fog is so thick you can hardly see it.. but it will burn off... and the snow is almost gone...yeahhhhhh!!!!

Good Morning to you all and Happy St. Patrick's Day. I too am not Irish but love to read folklore of the country.

Sorry to be so inactive right now just lots going on. I spent all day Saturday on homework and then the rest of the weekend on laundry, grocery shopping and quality time with DH and the dogs. I like the way our Sunday's are going now. We get up and get ready for Church, go for an early lunch, go visit his Dad and then go do our grocery shopping. Yesterday we picked up a dessert to share at a new market we tried and then spent the afternoon on the couch reading our books and watching the dogs have a wrestle. It just seems like going to Church helps center our day and really emphasises our desire to spend the rest of the day together. Nice side effect :)

Terry I'm so happy that the clothes are fitting better. It's an amazing feeling isn't it? Don't let your weigh in discourage you as I find it hard to believe you can gain that much weight within a day or two. I struggled with food on the weekend also (stupid PMS) but have picked myself up, dusted myself off and am carrying on business as usual.

Dahlia, I love to listen to jazz and blues also. Erwin kind of got me into some of it. It makes a nice change of pace and you can't help but get your foot tapping with some of it. I also enjoy Motown classics and some classical music too.

Well I guess I better hit the shower and get into work this morning. It snowed a ton here last night so that'll be a fun drive. I'm very thankful I live so close to work.

Take care and good morning to Meg, Cathy, Gramda G, Karie and all else who are missing in action but thought of fondly. Pop in and say hi when you get a chance.

Good morning! Happy St. Pat's!

No, I am not wearing green today. I used to have a fabulous green sweater, but it no longer fits...

Busy weekend for me as well. Dan and I threw a 1st birthday party for our kittens. They now are cats - with TONS of new toys. I did splurge on 1/2 a piece of cake and some corn chips & salsa, but weighed in the same as last week, with a change in my measurement. I now have lost over 3 inches off of my waist!

My shopping trip on Friday was not fruitful. Marshall's is really a hit-or-miss place. I think I may end up at target, or some other place where I know there will be plenty to choose from in multiple sizes.

Dan and I are re-doing our bathroom. No construction - just new towels, etc. It looks really nice. AND - we heard from our accountant, and right now it looks like we might have OVERPAID! We thought we owed $2,000! But - we aren't keeping our hopes up - I won't believe it until I am signing it.

Glad everyone had a great weekend. 65 degrees out. Know it won't last, but it is nice while we have it!

Begorra..Happy St Pats Day to all of you too :lucky: it will be 'funny' day in the bars today..one of the local families..the "Quinns" take their Irish Heritage to heart and one of them will no doubt be sporting a crewcut with a dyed green shamrock on the back of his head :dizzy:  pity i won't be there to see it. Well, i could be there but i don't go anymore so i won't be there.
I lost all my "oomph" a couple of weeks ago and there is no sign of it  i'm not 'dieting' not exercising..in fact apart from cleaning this darn house the only thing i am doing is EATING!! I want to change all that starting today..i know..i keep saying that but time is marching on..it will soon be April :hyper: and i don't want to be FAT :fr: and i definitely won't go home FAT!! I don't mind going home chubby but i draw the line at FAT..its time to work some magic here :wizard: and get some results..i'm determined to have a good day today..hope you do too.
I spent most of yesterday playing with my camcorder it is one of those that has a memory card too so that you can take pictures. I took some great ones of the 3 "Bambies" that were grazing on the lawn yesterday but i can't get the thing to download onto my computer..i only have windows 95 and you're supposed to have windows 98..i can download the software O.K. but as soon as i attach the camera the computer crashes :( so i've admitted defeat looks like i'll have to upgrade the computer which i don't want to do..why fix it if it ain't broke? its a real pity because the picture quality is excellent..far better than the 'naff' yahoo one that i've got...oh well..never mind..i think these companies do it on purpose so that you have to keep throwing money at these things...LOL

Good Morning!

Meg, I LOVE Marshalls and I am a TJ MAXX Queen! :) True, though, somedays there is nothing and other days you find a gold mine. On those days when the pickings are great, my wallet is usually empty! :D Such is life, right?!

Happy belated birthday to the kitties!

Pam, you had tons of snow and I slept with the windows opened last night and the sound of birds singing spring tunes this morning was glorious! I ain't gonna trade!!

Hey, Cathy, you'll get back on track when you are ready. It seems you were doing great until you heard about your ex. Hugs, girlfriend. Digital pics take up tons of memory and that may be a problem too. I just upgraded to Windows XP from 98 and I really love it. And, yes, I also think there is a conspiracy among hardware and software vendors to keep the industry going strong! :dizzy:

Trying a new course of action. Journaling everything but not really counting points. I am watching portions and snacks, etc. What I am doing differently though is focusing on the exercise and trying to religiously fit in WATP and/or the treadmill everyday. I am looking at it this way: if you only had to do one thing to lose weight what would it be -- exercise or count points? I figure exercise because the benefits are more. I really have a tough time incorporating both -- kind of like not being able to walk and chew gum at the same time

I peaked at the scale this morning and it's going down ...

OK, off to check emails and WW and then get ready for work. I try to get everything done in the house in the morning because I am too pooped at night.

Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Always, Terry

Good job buddy. I tried to do that darn 3 mile tape last night but crapped out after 2.5. Oh well ..it's all movement.

Morning Ladies,
Terry you're right that is exactly what threw me off track WORRY :dz: but i'm feeling better about it now and i had a good day yesterday..no exercise but good foodwise :) i even had 2 fingers of a 4 fingered Kit-Kat ;) and a Bud ( :sssh: i'll have the other 2 fingers today) without going overboard :D i had my usual peek at the scale (even though i put it in the closet outta the way i actually get weighed in there) and i'm at 162lbs so i've only gained 1.5lbs..not bad..considering what i've been doing and i'm confident that i'll soon lose that.
I joined Ebay yesterday which was a big thing for me because i'm very wary of the 'net' and i spent hours there (thats probably the reason i did'nt overeat) i bid on windows 98 and i thought i'm bound to get one because the seller had about 12 of them listed then about 2 hours before the end of the auction someone came on and bid on the whole lot of them  i had to go out so did'nt bother to keep bidding (plus i was'nt going to let someone bump up the price to a price i was'nt willing to pay) so i did'nt get one..i'm in the bidding for another one but that has another week to go so anything can happen..i just hope that if i'm successful the seller actually sends it to me..oops.. set myself up for a telling off from Terry now :o BTW..wanna sell your windows 98 Terry ? :s:
Pam..you and Terry are making me wanna buy WATP's..LOL..it sounds great and i'm trying really hard to resist..i can just imagine hubby's face if he ever came home and saw me marching away right next to that treadmill that i went mad for him to buy me! Time to make my brekky..stomach is rumbling..BBL

So not complaining, just explaining..:)

Still working on those same stubborn pounds, they go and come back,, true not as many come back each time but I want them off and away for good...how is everyone else doing?

Cathy, EBay is so addictive  and I see that you are hooked already! I'll email you about Windows 98 -- Bill Gates may be lurking  . Seriously, just tell DH that WATP is a new treadmill program you have -- it mixes floor work with the treadmill :) (my mom always says, what our husbands don't know, won't hurt them!). Actually, that is exactly what I do -- the two mile WATP for Abs tape and then instead of cooling down, I jump on the treadmill for a mile. It seems like a good workout and I am not bored which is so important.

Have patience with yourself and your weight loss goals -- you'll get cracking soon, you always do once you find that spark :) .

Most people "spike" on eBay -- wait till the last minute or two and then bid so they get it at the lowest price. Click on "show closing auctions" and you just never know what you'll find at a great price. :s:

OK, off to work I go. Starting to wake up here so the day actually looks doable -- gulping coffee helps big time! :D

Pam, try not to be too busy today -- you work too much!

Morning, Meg!

Later gators!

Hi guys!

Work seems to be picking up - too bad the salary isn't. ;)

I tried to wear those pants again that I wanted to have take in. They look ridiculous on me - they are just too big in the waist. I am going to try Casual Corner at lunch today, and see if there is anything cute there. I used to shop there, and as I recall it was good stuff for a decent price. I asked for clothes for my birthday (in May), but I am really starting to need stuff now. I only have jeans and one other pair of pants that truly fit me. That is a problem. I could probably get away with switching out the same couple pairs of pants, but that is kind of pathetic. We aren't THAT broke.

I am VERY jealous about the Dairy Queen. Ours doesn't open till memorial day - those things are a GOLD MINE!

I have been doing more reading about Atkins, and I have decided I am going to go back to the very first phase, which is the strictest, and stay there until I lose all the weight. Everything I have read talks about how people have different levels of metabolic resistance (meaning how fast you lose weight). His book and website have a chart about that. I am very resistant to weight loss according to the chart. Don't get me wrong - I am very happy with my 8 pounds in 10 weeks, I just want to keep losing at a steady rate. I worry that if I have more carbs, the loss will be so slow that I won't be able to see it, and that I will be more likely to go off the diet. By adding just a few more carbs I seem to be maintaining, not losing.

Sorry for the long post. Talk to you soon. Meg

Good Morning Ladies,
I just got an email from Ebay and i've been outbid again  i thought it would be easy to buy from there..apparently not! it seems i'm not the only one living in the dark ages with windows 95  all this trouble just because i want to download some pic's with a different camera  Terry..i just got your second email..thanks buddy :) and thanks for the Ebay tip i'll try that. I started off really well yesterday and guess what? we had company last night and the beers came out :o but  so what? i'll make up for it today.I'm not going to be a grinch and refuse a drink because i'm on a "diet".
I did'nt realise that Dairy Queen was a 'seasonal' thing.. our's is open all year round... i don't like that soft ice cream i prefer the original stuff preferably with a cadbury's flake stuck in it and raspberry sauce :T you can throw a few nuts on too if you like.
Just watching VI news and Susan Powter is on..that woman has so much energy ( :sssh: but she's loud too..not required after a night of drinking) she looks really different..black roots..blonde and pink fuzz hanging down the back (don't know how else to explain it) nose ring..looks a lot older too..i would describe her look as aging punk rocker now but the body is still great!! She's 'shouting' about her website so i guess i'll check it out and see what the fuss is about and then get back to Ebay..BBL

Wow! Susan Powter! What a blast from the past. I can totally imagine a punk haircut on her, still screaming. I am going to surf for her website now also.

Our DQ isn't a Brazier (no hot food- only ice cream products). There is another Brazier near us, but we always forget to go.

Well off to find Susan!

Hi guys! I have to do a little dance - jumped on the scale this morning and I have made it to my 2nd 10 pound loss!!!

I am down to 174.5 from 195 pounds. 30 more to go, but if I even lose just 20 more I will be psyched!:flow2:

I am going to start training April 1 for a 5k. I am going to do it on my own, so there isn't alot of pressure. I am going to probably work out every day then. I have to keep up my weight lifting. I have let it slack this week - I just didn't feel like going this morning (the war kind of got me down).

Still haven't found new pants! Gotta go today!

Talk to you later! Meg:wave:

Hey Meg..well done :cp: what did you think of the susan powter website? i did'nt think much  nothing there of interest to me just the usual rantings  i certainly did'nt learn anything that i did'nt already know she was mainly touting her books, video's etc.
The sun is shining here today..just lovely and seeing as its the first day of spring tomorrow i hope its a taste of things to come :D
i spoke too soon..you would think it was a different day now :( its all grey and absolutely :censored: down. thank god i went out to caulk around a downspout before the weather changed..i've got a mini crisis happening at the mo'..we suspect that water has been getting in behind a wall somewhere and i found mushrooms  growing in one of the bedroom carpets so i had to rip the carpet and underlay up this morning to try and find the problem..what a mess! and it smells too :p hope it is'nt the plumbing...back to the big clean up..BBL

Hey you! Sorry you are down - the war gets me down also...:(

But, I am wearing new pants and sweater I got yesterday. My husband didn't balk at the price. I also got new, hip sunglasses, and have started wearing chokers again - either beaded or a scarf. I have a long neck, and that used to be my thing. I used to have style :s:

I met 2 girlfriends for lunch today that were laid off on July 1. One moved to SC, and the other found another job. The first thing they said was how great I looked, and that they could totally see how much weight I lost!:smug:

I started running last night. My 3 new year's resolutions were to:
- do atkins for 2 weeks, and stick with it if it worked (done)
- run the chicago marathon (okay - half the marathon)
- find a new job

Last week i realized that Dan and I have already paid for a trip the weekend of the marathon. I found a 5K in the suburbs, and I started training last night. I am very excited! Now if only I can find a new job....

Cat - there was nothing at Susan's website. It seemed to me she wasn't willing to give ANYTHING away for free. That totally stinks about the mushrooms in the carpet!:o How do you even get rid of that?!? You know, it is okay if you don't work out today. You will probably feel like it tomorrow. And how is your Ebaying going? I am selling something right now on it.

Everyone else...I hope you are all having OP days!

Good Morning Ladies,

First off let me say to Meg, Congratulations!!!! :cp: :bravo: I am so proud of you and the success you've had thus far on your plan. I can imagine you were proud as a peacock after lunch with your girlfriends the other day. Keep up the great work and good luck with your marathon training.

Sorry to have been so inactive the past few days. I've had a headache for 3 days and finally broke down and went to the medi-centre last night. He gave me some Tylenol 2 and I think (fingers crossed) that the worst has passed as this morning I feel not too bad.

I also have some good news that I'm delighted to share with you all this morning.....When I weighed in today I weighed in at exactly 150 pounds :dancer: I have finally hit my goal weight and now the challenge begins to see if I can maintain it. If I lost a few more I'd be happy but I feel great right here and am concentrating on getting my physical body in better shape.

I want to thank all of you for your continued support through both the weight loss and personal stuff. You guys mean the world to me even though we've never met face to face. I just feel like giving you all a great big :grouphug:

I'm off to go meet my friend for lunch and shopping later today but will pop back in later to see what's going on.

Have a great OP day ladies,

Love and Bunnies :)

Grrr...you know when i mentioned the leak? well..i was having a "dispute" with hubby about it..my reasoning being that if it was from the downspout that comes through the deck why would it travel 8ft along a wall to the spot where it is leaking into the bedroom :?: i think the penny dropped  and he went into the basement (again!!) to double check then came up to tell me IT IS the plumbing  so we've just had the joy of hacking into a bedroom wall to find the offending pipe  thank god there is a woman around because he mentioned "axe" so i grabbed a large screwdriver prised off the trim and started poking around until i struck the pipe (EUREKA! it felt like i'd struck gold) i showed hubby where to cut and we found it with minimal damage :stress: thankfully we'll be able to repair it ourselves and i'll have the added bonus :?: of re-decorating
On the diet front..what diet? i've suddenly gained 5lbs (think that Pam must've given 'em to me) and its been almost 2 weeks since i've done any exercise..i need help here :^:

Dahlia - we ARE getting low on the list. Those low-carbers are taking over the forum!

The weekend was nice. Dan and I had a fight on Friday night. We were going to go out for a nice dinner, and then he got it in his head that we had to eat food we never eat - like Hungarian, Polish or Czech. We ended up fighting over it because I didn't want to, so we stayed home. How silly!;) But we saw that new movie made by HBO "Normal". It was really good.

I saw my girlfriend today that had a baby in December, and we went walking. I did my run/walk training (30 seconds of each). Boy, did it wipe me out!

Cat - good for you for sparing the wall! And, on the brite side, redecorating can be fun! You will get back into the swing of exercise, the hardest part will be doing it the FIRST time. After that you will be fine.

Pam, hope you had a great time shopping!

I will talk to you guys tomorrow!

Good morning, everyone! It is BEAUTIFUL out! It is going to be almost 70 degrees here today!

I am having a pretty good day so far. I woke up early because the sun was shining thru our window, and I saw the most beautiful sunrise. I woke Dan up and he loved it to.

I cleaned the house thoroughly last night, and now it is sparkling. It is such a nice feeling.

Tonight I am going to go to the gym, and get back into the swing of weight lifting.

Hope everyone is having an OP day - wherever you are!

I'm gonna really try and have a good day today i don't know whats come over me  i ate so much a couple of day's ago that i felt sick in bed :p i was'nt but i felt rotten and i don't want to go through that again..i'm not hungry..i'm just feeding my nerves? depression? anxiety? whatever it is...i will journal everything today and make better choices.
The plumbing is fixed i'm trying to dry everything out now..i just hope the "dirty mop" smell goes away when it does..otherwise i don't know what we'll do..i don't fancy replacing 2 X 4's.
Hubby has a bonfire going..he's burning some stumps and playing with an excavator (they're like big kids are'nt they?) so i'd better go and feed him some bacon butties..BBL

Hey all,

Meg and Cathy thanks so much for the words of encouragement. Milena and I had a good time shopping on Saturday even though I didn't find very much but that's okay it was still a fun day but I was pooped when I got home.

I spent most of yesterday nursing a cold which has taken the place of the monster headache but today I'm feeling not too shabby just a bit tired is all.

Cathy it sure sounds like your feeding anxiety. I know you'll gain control over it and know that we're here for you to lean on .

Meg you sound so invigorated and it's such a pleasure to read about your enthusiasm. Hope your training is going alright.

Dahlia, you feel better soon okay?

Terry, Karie, Grandma G hope all is well with you. Please post and let us know how you're doing.

Well I guess I better go back to work. I plan on getting arcyrylic nails to celebrate my hitting goal..but we'll see how that goes.

Take care,

Okay Cathy you do the treadmill and I'll do my WATP tape. I'd do the treadmill but Erwin's downstairs weight lifting tonight. I was pumped on Saturday as I did 3 km in 35 mins which is a new record for me.

I bet you your headache comes from being hungry as I know that'll give me one for sure. Sounds like you've had a good day though. That's how you do it...one day at a time :) Cliche but true.

As for the new claws...i think I'll try and use them to whip DH into shape LOL. Knowing me I'll hurt myself worse than anybody else :) I'm going to try the active length and see how I make out.

Hope everyone else has had a good day.

Dahlia, hope you are feeling better today!

Sorry I have been AWOL -- my life is feast or famine and when I am back in the work force, there just does not seem to be enough hours in the day. Not complaining mind you as I love to work -- I just miss my computer time and my cyber buddies!

Cat, I can just see you giving DH daggers at the mere mention of "axe" -- whew, what a mess that could have been and most likely you would be in charge of clean up! Will insurance cover the cost of redoing the plumbing and the wall? Depends on your deductable I assume.

Susan Powter with a nose ring and roots? Yuck! :fr: I guess she is trying to resurrect her past 15 minutes of fame.

Now, now, Pam and Cathy, :s: claws, huh??? Behave, women! :D But, then again, that's not always fun either!

Be back in a minute ........

Ok, needed another fix of caffeine ....

Cathy, I think you need a good dose of spring fever to psyche you up, girlfriend. Give it time -- the motivation will come back. I am finding it hard too, and am really just concentrating on portion/snack control and am really, really trying to get in some form of exercise every day even if it's just 20 minutes on the treadmill. Pick me up off the floor :dizzy: because I am actually -- do I dare say it??!! -- starting to look forward to it. This has NEVER happened before. One step at a time .....

I am so fixated on watching war coverage and cannot seem to draw myself away from the TV and radio. I have such mixed feelings about it all too. Very scary times. It reminds me of the American Civil War when towns people brought picnic lunches to watch the battles thinking it was going to be a 2-day war. Pathetic. I guess the logistics of live TV coverage fascinates me from a production point of view (comes from my marketing and TV background). It just seems so surreal too. Also, having a son who will register for the draft when he turns 18 in a few months is not good for my nerves. Some of his friends are going into the Marines after graduation. But, yet I still watch it .....

OK, enough on that...

Time to do the treadmill -- already vacummed and cleaned the house, did laundry, etc. Then it's off to work I go. I hate coming home at night and having to do all kinds of chores -- too pooped to pop.

Boy, talk about rambling here -- made up for my absence!

Later gators!

Have a great day everyone .... Terry :)

Terry - you go with the cleaning. I bought "Real Simple" magazine, and it had a lot of tips on keeping the house clean, breaking it down into things to do each day, week, and quarterly. I started it on Sunday, and it is working so far. I tend to be kind of a slob, so I am willing to try anything!

I am CONSTANTLY listening to National Public Radio war coverage. Dan and I have also adopted a sailor to send care packages to. I figure that we don't have children, so this is a good way to support someone that perhaps doesn't have people at home writing them. It was really fun putting the first package together - gum, microwave popcorn, crystal light, etc. I am hoping that our sailor will email us with music they are interested in, and then Dan can burn a bunch of CDs.

I was a bad girl and didn't work out yesterday, but I took our cat Sneak to the vet - I thought she was having a seizure - which apparently she was. They said if it happens again we will have to put her on medication. It was really scary. I have never seen her act that way before!

I am planning on working out tonight - I have to try and make it a part of my day - not just go home and watch reruns of Law and Order!!!!

Hope everyone is doing well. Hi to Pam, Cat, Grandma G, & Dahlia.

Talk to you later - Meg

Hi Girls..wish i'd come back last night now i might have found the motivation that i needed  instead i went out on the property to join hubby who was burning tree stumps so we stood around the bonfire and drank BEER   a few more than the 3 i had allowed myself so that 'blew' my day!! I did'nt exercise either i figured some fresh air would help with the :headache: it might have done but the beer certainly did'nt...today I AM going to stay on track and get some exercise in if i come back tomorrow and say that i have'nt then please by all means give me a rollicking.
Terry we're not bothering with insurance it will cost less to fix than the deductable is anyway..hubby replaced the pipe and now that everything is drying out the smell is almost gone too :) you can imagine what that was like..the leaking pipe was from the bathroom sink..kitchen sink and dishwasher :p

Morning everyone :) :) :)

Hey, Emily, you're pregnant (as if you didn't know :D )!! Long time no see ... and welcome back! Now I am excited because we are going to have a new addition and soon it seems. I hope you are feeling well -- I bet the boys must be excited too.

OK, Cat, are we back on track today?? You said to ask -- just start with one part of your plan and then when that's under your belt, add another. You'll do it -- have patience, girlfriend!

Morning Pam, Meg and Dahlia :) :) -- hope you are feeling better, Dahlia.

Meg, I love that magazine -- a lot of good ideas in there. I find if I just keep "decluttering" everynight before bed, it helps tremendously in the morning. Of course, having a cleaning lady would help even more!

All is well -- down 1.5 lbs this morning. The scale is so erratic lately, that it will probably be up 3 tomorrow. Managed to get in some exercise yesterday (2 mile WATP and run/walk for a half mile on the treadmill).

Running late today so let me sign off now -- hope everyone has a great day. Managed to see a little bit of Celine last night (basketball was on -- love BB!) -- what a gig she has!

Later gators!

Love, T

Meigg
03-26-2003, 10:58 AM
Terry - that is so true about decluttering every night. Last night I only had to pick up a few things in 3 rooms, and wipe down the kitchen counter and bathroom sink with one of those clorox wipes. I love those things! Once again, when I got up this morning, the house was perfectly clean. - although it is alot easier with only two people!

I got on the scale this morning, and saw I have gained a few pounds. But, considering that I have cheated, and had some sugar, I knew it was coming. So, I am making a pledge today to do hardcore Atkins until my birthday (May 2), on which day I will feel free to have a piece of cake. No sugar or processed carbs until then. Only protein and veggies for me!

I am also going to start bringing my lunch to work more. That should help me stay on track...

Cat - you back on track today? Let us know.

Hope everyone has an OP day, and I will check in again later!

Yaaayyy!! :cp: Terry another 1.5lbs gone..you are doing so well :D in all the time i have "known" you i don't think you've ever been as committed to doing this as you are now..YOU GO GIRL! Maybe when we both get to goal we should go on a shopping trip to New York  and buy some funky new clothes..cropped tops and bellbottoms? sound like fun?
You know what? when i said you should give me a rollicking if i don't stay on track? well..it worked! i was shopping all day (always a good thing for keeping me on track) and when i got home i was starving and just snacked on 2 wholewheat buns until i made dinner..usually i hit the sweet stuff when i'm like that then i kept thinking that i'd not exercised and i would have to tell you so today  so i put dinner on hold and walked for 2 miles :) it meant that i had a late dinner but i was still only around 1200cals and 18g fat for the day..so i'm back on track and i've got my enthusiasm back to do this :jig: btw..i watched Celine too and i was'nt overly impressed..she was good but there did'nt seem any rhyme or reason to it..there did'nt seem any connection to the songs she was singing and the choreography..or maybe i was missing something..did'nt like the new 'do' either...hubby called it the "Princess Di Do" i have enjoyed her 'ordinary' concerts much more.

Cat - glad to hear you are back on track!

I went to the gym and lifted today, and then followed with 5 minutes on the stairmaster. That thing is a torture device!

See you tomorrow!

Morning!

Welcome back Cheri and congrats on the birth of your new babe! :) I see our Cat can count! :D Good luck with your weight loss and we all need to remember to take it one day and "ten pounds at a time!" :)

Hope you are feeling better today Ms. Pam!

Morning Dahlia and Meg and Cat and Emily and Grandma (hope all is well!) ..... and anyone else I may have missed.

Meg, I belonged to a gym a few years ago and hated the Stairmaster bigtime -- good for you to keep at it though :).

Cat, I am so proud of you for getting back on track yesterday -- amazing what a little guilt can do, huh?! I hate it when Russ is home "off hours" because I feel like he's invading my time and my turf and disrupting my routine. I sound like a little kid I know! We will be married 27 years this September and you'd think he'd learn by now! Your dinner sounded really yummy by the way.

Taking the day off from work today to take my mom to the doctor -- her arthritis is bothering her. Then perhaps I'll take her shopping afterwards if she is up to it. I didn't fall asleep until after 3am last night for whatever reason and slept in this morning -- feel like a slug with no energy and no motivation. I guess I am more acclimated to my "back at work routine" than I thought.

OK, ladies, time to force myself to pick up around here and then put the dogs out -- their eyeballs are turning yellow!

Have a great Thursday and see y'all later ....

Always, Terry

Boy, my legs are KILLING me this morning. But I am determined to go to the gym today. Unfortunately, today is supposed to be a running day, and I hope I can make my way thru it. That stairmaster is the  !

Confession time :o i ate too much yesterday..i blew it because i ate too much for lunch :( i was hungry and made too much and instead of quitting i ate it all then last night my tummy was growling so i had a small dinner (even fried fries) and a hot cross bun :( not to mention the packet of fruit-tella's i ate on the drive home (i thought chews would be a better choice to chocolate) anyway, all told i had about 2300cals and 55g fat  but on the bright side i 'burned' 465 cals with exercise so i won't beat myself up too much  i'll have some all-bran and wholewheat toast for brekky then hopefully i won't get the rumblings as bad today BBL

A quickie! Out the door, but wanted to stop by and say Hi! Meg -- good job!! Cathy -- confession time for me too -- no exercise for two days now. Stress got the better of me I am afraid:( ... hope to make up for it this weekend. BTW, after you yell "fire" and DH runs out the front door -- lock it so he can't come back in! :D Howdy Pam and Dahlia, Cheri, Grandma and Em!

Now I know I am losing it (my mind that is!) -- put the dogs on their run about 2 hours ago -- forgot to open the garage door to let them out! So they patiently waited all that time for mom to come back down ...... where's the wine when I need it??!!!

Hey Cat, with the cals you burned you are under 2,000 calories, so that isn't THAT bad!

Didn't get to the gym last night. My legs hurt too much. Tonight I am babysitting for my nephew, but I am going to try to go beforehand.

Believe it or not, I actually have work to do! I normally play games online all day (since the pay cut). It is hard to get back into the swing of things!:dizzy: How silly is that!

Going out for a salad for lunch - have a great day!:p

Terry..having another 'senior moment' are you..watch out they are getting more frequent :dizzy: i'll count yours and you count mine  believe me Terry..if i shout 'fire' hubby would just carry on watching CNN  i've even had the smoke detector go off before now and he's slept through it! hmmm :chin: all i need to do now is get him heavily insured!

GREAT NEWS! I just got a phone call and have an interview before work on Monday morning! AND, I just got an email from a company I applied to 3 weeks ago, and they are calling to set up an interview! VERY COOL! When it rains it pours! But what will I ever do if I get a new job - that would mean NO MORE GAMES!!

Terry - thank goodness those dogs didn't make a mess!

Have a good night everyone!

Hi Cathy,

Great job on the treadmill...I'm proud of you. I'll be trying to do something today but my stomach is not being 'Pam Friendly' this past few days. I'm thinking it's the flu but it's hard to tell.

Went to work yesterday for half the day and then over to my sisters for dinner. It was really nice..she and her fiance just moved into a larger apartment about 3 weeks ago and this is the first time they've had us over for dinner so it was enjoyable. She did pretty good too as she's new to the kitchen thing but it was a good meal followed by a good game of cards.

Well off to go do some laundry and homework. My life just couldn't get any more exciting now could it?

Talk to you all later,

Pam

Pam..i'm surprised that sis did'nt get YOU to cook  did you have to clean the cooker again? :s: hope you feel better soon.

Cat - GREAT job walking 3 miles. I have to get to the gym!

Pam - hope you are feeling better!

I just had a few girls over for a "scrapbooking" party. Everyone just brought their albums and put photos in. It was nice.

Now I have some time to relax before some other friends come over for dinner!

Have a good one!
