I need somewhere to post my exercise and non exercise days. Before things got so crazy in my life and I was comming around every day, sometimes more, we had a good exercise thread where we all reported what exercise we did for the day. I've tried getting in on the exercise section of this site, and also since I really love doing Oxycise, I've tried getting into their site, but it's just not home like this is.

Anyone want to join me in a daily, or whenever account of our exercise?

In case I have some takers, I'll start

This morning I did my L1 Oxycise tape, rode the stationary bike 20 (I know it's supposed to be 30, but I'm being honest here)minutes and now I'm getting ready to go to the health club for water aerobics. Since it's been a while since I've been to a MWF class, I'm not sure which one to go to, but I think I'll go to the deep water class. It's a harder more aerobic class than the one in the warm water pool. The warm water pool has a class they call ABC Allover Body Conditioning, and I think I probally need the running the do in the regular deep water class. And yes we wear flotation belts to keep us up.

Okay who's next?

I was at the Y at 5:30 this morning. 30 minutes eliptical machine, and 25 minutes of strength training. Tonight I will play volleyball for 2 hours. :strong:

I don't go to the gym until tonite. It's my leg nite. Managed to get 4 days in last week, so I'm shooting for 5 this week.

Wow, aren't you all ambitious? Well, I'm about to go outside for some raking, mowing and digging, and I'll use my bowflex tonight. I'll probably fit in some dancing with my preschooler---that's usually good for the heart rate. (and it's fun to be silly!)

I understand how I can find time to exercise, I don't have any kidlets or doggage, and DH works midnites so he's asleep in the evenings, but how in the world do the Moms out there manage?

Dyan, moms like me don't manage!! My mom and daughter laugh uproariously when I do my videos in the living room, so I won't do it anymore! Hmph, and how can I make time to go to the gym? Well, we walk our neighborhood when it's nice out, so that's about all I do anymore!

Another reason I wouldn't make a good mama, I'm selfish about my "me" time. I do make a good step-mama though, spoil DSS and send him back home. Besides he's great for exercise. We play tag around this huge play structure built like a castle, up and down stairs until I finally catch him or pass out trying.

When I got to the health club yessterday morning I discovered they now have an ADVANCED aerobic class. needless to say I jumped right in. Boy am I sore!!! Anyone who thinks you don't get sore from water aerobics has not had the righrt class.

Today will be my regular T/T class. It's called 50+ Circuit Training and we use a variety of tools to simulate a full body workout on the circuit machines. It's for the special section of 50+ members and I am glad to report I am by far the youngest in the group!!!

I'm off to do my Oxycise and then ride my bike before I leave. Hope everyone else has a great workout.

Monday - Didn't get to the gym. Did some gardening at home and did a bunch of archiving at work, (think packing up 50 boxes and moving them upstairs, lots of bending, stretching, and lifting.) plus a snuggle with the DH last night. That should count for something!

Today - packed for the gym. Debating on trying the aquacise class.

Three days in a row!!! Maybe that's a record for me. But alas, all good things come to an end. I can't go to the club today because I have an appointment for a perm. I've battled this straight hair as long as I can stand it. I did do my Oxycise tape and 25 minutes on the bike.

Well I didn't get to water aerobics yesterday because of my hair appointment, but today will make 4 days this week. I usually don't do much on the weekends. sometime we go to the club on Saturday afternoons after we get off work, but not always.

Today is day 4 for me, I plan to garden and go workout tomorrow. DH and I were planning a bike ride on the trails, but it's going to be drizzly with thundershowers. Not particularlly a good thing if you're on a metal bike. LOL

hooray an exercise thread, I haven't done much of anything today yet, probably taebo when the boys take a nap. Yesterday I got my 2 mile run in, even though it was pouring rain. I used to hate running, until I found out I was doing it wrong, I was going too fast. Any other runners or walkers out there. It seems to be the least expensive form of exercise for me. Later, Judy

Judy - I'm a walker when it's not raining, I'd love to be a runner, but my body doesn't seem to agree with it. Too much boobage and bouncing for me. I ran 1/4 mile a couple of months ago, that's probably the most I've ran since high school gym class.

I used to think I couldn't run until I read a couple of books and discovered I was trying to go to fast for my fitness level. I had a preconceived idea of what a runner was like and quite frankly I was sucking alot of air. I then slowed down quite a bit and discovered that if I ran then walked in a predictable pattern, I walked before my lungs started hurting, then ran a little and walked a little. It works, before I knew it I was able to run farther. Walking is still a good form of exercise though I did that tonight and didn't run today at all. Judy

running??? not me!!! not with these knees!!!

and i've been avoiding this thread like the plague. oh, i've been exercising, but feeling guilty that i haven't been swimming much this week. i'm just so sick and tired of the cold. the cold weather. the cold pool. the cold gym that i couldn't motivate myself to get out after 8 pm to go swimming.

so, having said that, i rode at least 13.5 miles on teh exercise bike on tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday [not monday; i hurt my back and had to go to the chiropractor]

and the weights workout tuesday and thursday, and am planning to do it today as well.

and i've planned a hike with the dog for this morning.

Hi,
I'm new to this thread, but here goes: I did my pilates today and might take a walk later if my baby feels better.

It's hard to exercise when your baby is sick, It's hard for me during the week when my boys are over because they are mostly preschoolers. I love my DGS's but there are times when I'd just love to go somewhere without added carseats. I guess I took up running because it is time I take for myself. Everyone has got to find an activity that they love, then pursue it. I know I love square dancing too. Have a great weekend, judy

Judy I will agree with you I did the same thing I thought that one had to run like the wind and well I ran like the dead!! I just comllained untill sone one told me I looked like jack the ripper was after me and why was i trying so hard. I slowed down and well i was able to do it. I need to start it again!!! SLOWLY!!!

I went up about 100 flights of stairs this weekend does that count???

I understand completely where you are coming from Sue. I don't think it is necessary to go out and beat yourself up going at a breakneck speed that is surely going to have your lungs burning, and have you gasping for oxygen. I'm the slowest runner for miles around, but at least I'm not dreading the prospect of getting out there. I have people ask me why I even bother if I'm not going to put more effort in it. What they don't understand is that I'm not interested in marathons or anything I run because I feel compelled to, and it relaxes me. I'm much more focused afterwards, and much calmer. When I get better at this sport maybe I'll rethink my position, now I'm enjoying the process. Later, Judy

Hi all, well haven't been able to do anything for the last 3 days, yesterday had the tummy flu and everything that goes along with that, and of course my arthritis decided to flare up again, I think I've got that under control. I looked at Dr A's book and took his advice. It seems to be settling down. The weather has been so bad lately that getting outdoors is a trial. I had been doing taebo until my setback, hopefully I'll get a chance to do that today, and maybe run a little tomorrow. Does anybody weight train? Judy
