Cool Day 2 in Chicago

Hi everyone! i'm new to this board and new to IP. I heard great things about the IP room here so i had to come. I started IP yesterday and it went pretty smoothly. However, today doesnt seem to be the same. I just ate my lunch at almost 12:30 and i am still starving. How do you ladies handle hunger? Is anyone else from chicago?

Also, where are the before and after pictures? I love looking at those

Hi and welcome! I'm not from Chicago but use to travel their a lot for business. It's a great city! Hmm...if you just started you're body may be going through "carb withdrawal"...you will feel yucky for the first 3-4 days but it will pass. You're allowed an extra packet at the beginning and be sure to get in all your water, salt, oil etc. Be well and good luck! Stay 100% on plan and it will come off before you know it!

Hello! I am on day three and wondering if what I'm feeling is 'normal' too. I'm not hungry, but have been eating lots of lettuce and having 2 cups veggies with my dinner, which really fills me up.
My problem / question is the headache I'm getting again tonight. Last night I was in agony with it! (Up every hour or so, just couldn't make the pain go away.) Tonight's isn't a 'code red' yet, but it's definitely starting.
I hope you're not getting them too.

I hope so! I see my hubby eating bread and realized how much i wanted it. I ate a good dinner but i still feel my stomach rumbling a bit. I'm trying to stick with only the amount of packets recommended right now. I really want to lose this weight. Most of my clothes dont fit me anymore.

Luckily i am not getting headaches, hopefully they dont come in the next couple of days. I am trying to eat lettuce too but its not helping much. Maybe you should try an extra packet?

If you feel the headache coming on put 1/4 tsp of sea salt in the palm of your hand and lick it off then drink some water. Within 10-15 mins it will be gone!! your BP and electrolytes are low the salt will help with the headache. It works for most everyone, some it does not work but the odds are pretty high it will work for you try it!

Great idea with the salt in the hand!

Be sure to get at least the required water - I'm up to over 100oz everyday and some folks do alot more. A lot of people have a rough first week, but hang in there. I did this for 14 months and missed certain foods, but I was never hungry. Measure your salt - I wasn't, just throwing some in, and my sodium bloodwork came back low, so make sure you are getting enough.

I also had a huge salad for dinner with vegees/meat and in the past couple months have added a small salad at lunch. For my IP at lunch, I would boil my vegees, add seasonings, puree them and then add the IP soup. It was a big bowl with all the water from boiling the vegees, but very filling and satisfying. I actually enjoyed Phase 1 !

Good luck ! Great bunch of people here!

It can be hard getting that much in. Some people try putting flavorings in, like Mio but you have watch how much of that stuff you have too. You could make decaf ice teas and drink that if the water is too boring. In the summer, I drank ice water all day and it helped me to stay cool. Think of it this way, the kidneys can be stressed with all the extra protein, so the water we drink is helping it to flush and stay healthy. I still pee all day, and several times at night.

I grew up in the Beverly area on the South Side. Live in Monticello now-central Illinois. Small world, eh?

It gets a little better, but you still have to drink all of that water. It really does make a difference in your weight loss.
