Oh Sherry, you are wonderful!
Did the circus come to town?
It adds some cheer to the board.
Still cold here today.
My apologies for not posting more often.
If it ain't one kid it is the other.
Last night we had a big argument with Jay.
Dez is holding her own right now.
The doctor gave her some anti-anxiety pills.
I joinned the YMCA.
Actually the whole family did.
Dez's school is next door so she can go at lunch. We thought that it would be a good idea to replace the drugs with some exercise. I needed it to work off some stress. When Dez isn't working in the evening Larry and I are planning on going to gether with her.
Just heading out for my cold brisk walk. It is -30.

Love all you girls. Thanks for being my friend.

Thanks for the encouragement. :) No, Shelley, I'm not doing BFL anymore. The food plan was SO restrictive! I just can't see myself living on cottage cheese and chicken for the rest of my life.

Hey Ya'll

I'm taking a break from cleaning house.I hope that everyone has had a great OP weekend so far! :)

Yesterday it was a BEAUTIFUL 78 degrees day!! I spent the day with my Mom.We went to lunch,Wal-Mart and then to the hospital to visit a family friend. (Today the temp. is back down to the low 50's! Go figure!)

Shelley:When is your Spring break? Ours start on the 17th! One more week! I can't wait!! Are you still down to having only one car?

Jennelle:You have done a great job on the web page! I'm so proud of you. When do we get to see the pics??? If you don't mind me asking, does your hubby still make ugly comments about your weight?

Debbie:Well....5 more work days and we're off for a week! I can't wait! Do you like your new computer? I'm so jealous but I'm also so happy for you! I'm still praying to hit the lotto so I won't have to struggle anymore!

Doni:How's staying OP going? Have you lost anymore weight? When you home-school.....do your kids get to take a week off for Spring break?

Gayle:How's the pond going? I've been wondering if the weather has been able to let you do it. How's Allison? Give her an "Aunt Sher" hug. Is hubby home now? Are you still staying OP on Atkins?????

Dee:I really appricate all the nice compliments on my welcome signs.I'm glad you enjoy them! ;) WTG on joining the YMCA!! :bravo: YOU GO GIRL!!! BTW: Dez is still in my prayers!! {{{ hugs }}}

Ramona: How are you? How's the boys? Now that it looks like it's getting closer to war time, I think of you & the boys often. That was so sweet of you giving the puppy to that little boy.You are such a sweet person!

Vicki:Are you still depressed? Please let us know what's going on! We're here for you through weight loss, family troubles, and ALL! We've been friends TOO LONG for me to not know that's something is wrong! I love & miss you Vicki!!! :grouphug:

Carol: Where is your weekly post????? How's your leg? Are you still on the walking cast? Have you lost anymore weight? POST SOON!!!!!

Jeanne, Dee (Titan Card Fan) & Lisa:Please post soon! The board has been quite this weekend.I need ya'll back here!! :) Also...I need some MOTIVATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jennelle that is a great web page.

Shelley my last name is pronounced boyt son. Thank you for saying a mishabera.

Well it has been a busy weekend. I was definitely not on food plan as I ate chocolate easter eggs and carmel popcorn while watching movies on friday. Well if I blew it friday I thought I might as well wait til monday. Yeah right, that is what I did. I just finished off 2 dounuts, ate chocolate chips yesterday and anything else that I could get my hands on. Oh well back to the drawing board tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Hello friends!!!

Sher; Love the pig pic!!! You better watch all of us low carbers, we'll be trying to snitch the piece of bacon! Yes, I'm still watching my carbs but doing it more like protein power, allowing myself carbs but eating high protein foods. Going EXTREMELY well, not near as hungry as when I did WW. I even started my cycle today without realizing that it was coming up. Usually I have a week or two of huge cravings, short temper and sore all over. I'm taking evening primrose too, which is soppose to help with PMS, so I really do not know how much of the relief I can contribute to watching my carbs. Pond still in the works, hole is dug, waiting for warm weather....

Dee: Are you're donuts in Canada as yummy as our donuts here? If so, enjoy, then get right back on plan. You have did super maintaining thru your trips, etc.

Shelley: Enjoy your spring break, I bet you guys have flowers popping up all over there. Still looks like Winter here. YUCK!!!

Well, this will be the week from **** for me. Trying to get all of the donation and booth stuff setup for a show this weekend. Our club puts together the show for vendors, we provide meals etc. and I am doing our club booth at the show. It will be a three day event, and as usual, all of my committee people are jumping up and down shouting "I'll help, I'll help!!!"

Hi gang!

Sherry, I loved your cartoon and Jenelle, you did a great job on your website. You are a good writer...I really felt what you were experiencing with your ups and downs with weight. Maybe there is an inspirational book in your future!

Well I'm still very much on Atkins. Tonight completes my 2nd week of induction and I'm still feeling great...not sure what I'm supposed to do tomorrow...guess I have some reading to do. The great news is that I have lost 9 pounds and let me tell you there was lots of temptation this weekend and I didn't even care.

Last night we had my recently deceased friend's dh and dd over for dinner (I think I mentioned her passing on this board). He seems to be doing pretty well considering and dd was wearing some of her mom's old clothes which I think is good...

Today was my son's birthday party...he will be 10 tomorrow. I can't believe it. Anyway, we had 6 boys over for pizza and 31 Flavors chocolate mint ice cream cake (yum, I think it is a California brand) and I served it and didn't even lick anything...hard for me to imagine 2 weeks ago. We all went to a exotic wild animal rescue station which was really cool and they even let my son hold a good sized monitor lizard...he was in heaven!

Take care all,

mzbhavin

Good morning all!

Sounds like everyone had a good weekend. We had beautiful weather.....really put me in a good mood.
I'm starting my second week of Atkins today. I lost 8 pounds last week, but........you have to understand that I lose very, very quickly when I start a program and also the fact that I had that wonderful stomach virus last week helped ! LOL
I love low carbing. I always feel great and lose quickly which is a great motivator for me.
Well, I've got to get the shop open, but I'll be back to talk to everyone later today.

Have a good one,
Ramona

Jeanne your weightloss is wonderful. I am sure you must be feeling much better already. Your son's birthday party sounds like a blast. Very creative.

Gayle I am not sure what your donuts taste like. I am not a big donut eater, usually. I do have to say that I enjoyed them. Oh well today it is back to the drawing board. Can't wait to see pictures of your pond when you are done.

Shelley can I come shack up with you. It is still freezing and does not look like spring is in the works here. Not one inch of snow has melted yet.

Well off for the walk. Have a great day.

Well today is the day I leave to be with my mother for her masectomy tomorrow. I can't believe that my husband threw a holy fit about it!. He's back to driving truck, so I made arrangements for the girls to go to my gf's for the night. Made sure the house is clean and got all the laundry done. All of a sudden he doesn't want me to go. I don't understand it. When I would drive down there to be with her before, he was ok with it. He'd be home and could take care of things here. I'll only be gone about 24 hrs. and like I said the girl's will be with my gf. Who by the way he dearly loves. I'm so confused. It's not the money issue either, I set aside some money last week from my paycheck, so I'd be all set. Even if I had to stay at a hotel. Something's not making sense and I sure should NOT be dwelling on what it is. I did tell him if he had issues with this to voice them. He didn't have anything to offer, just that he didn't want me to go.

Sigh, ok enough about that. School is going wonderfully. I got my second successful live stick. I will be advancing to clinicals in the local hospitals. I'm really excited. This is just one more skill I can use in the medical field. It doesn't limit me to just the back of an ambulance.

Hope all is going well with everyone. Sherry it's so unfair you had 78'! I want my warm weather! it's 0 right now, LOL but the sun is shining.

Talk to everyone later.

Lisa - Sometimes serious illness in a family can mess with a person's head, which might be what's happening with hubby. He probably is having morbid thoughts of something happening to you on the trip to be with your mom, but he won't tell you because he knows the thoughts are silly. Just make sure you give him an extra hug before you leave.

Deelite
03-10-2003, 02:05 PM
Lisa is it a possiblity that he is really worried about your mom and that is why he doesn't want you to go? Maybe if you don't go he can deny what is happenning. This way if you go he has to face it. I wil be thinking and praying for you and your mom.

Ramona: How many carbs do you eat per day? Do you measure out your food portions? Are you watching your protein? Just curious, I hope I lose as much as you & Jeanne when I weigh tomorrow!

bootwoman
03-10-2003, 02:46 PM
Gayle, I probably don't go over 20 grams per day the first couple of weeks. After that it varies. I eat lots of meat if I'm hungry. I'm a natural meateater so that makes it pretty easy. I don't measure anything on this program. I have done well in the past with calorie counting, but on this......I just eat until I'm full! I'll have more carbs in the form of veggies and fruit when summer gets here. I just have to really watch my watermelon consumption though......tons of sugar!!!!!

Oh yeah........WATER, WATER, WATER!!!!!!!

ShelleyM
03-10-2003, 06:35 PM
Ramona , Gayle and Jeanne-You are all doing an awesome job!!

Lisa-Don't let your DH bring you down. You have to think of your mom and being with her. Maybe he is jealous of the attention that she is getting? Like Jennelle said, give him an extra hug and kiss before you leave. I'll be praying for your mom to get better.

gdeann
03-10-2003, 07:36 PM
Lisa: My thought is that hubby could be feeling guilty for not being able to go with you and helpless if you go and something happens without him there to support you. Go, do what you need to do for Mom, and all will be okay. We will be thinking of you!!!

Hello, Hello, Hello

Here I am with my weekly post..... Bad news I couldn't make it a whole week on plan. I didn't gain any weight, but didn't lose either. I am going to try again tomorrow. I have every reason to lose this weight so why can't I stay on a plan long enough to lose it!!! As you can tell, I am having a pity party for myself. I will stop now.

Sounds like Atkins is making a really strong come back on this thread. Great job ladies. I really should come post more often and get some of the inspiration you all seem to have. I don't seem to have any staying power.

I no longer have my leg/ankle in a cast of any kind. Just limping around right now. I am supposed to go to physical therapy, but I have just been too busy lately to set it up. Maybe next week I can.

My husband and I are going to the Bahamas at the end of November and I would really love to be able to wear a bathing suit. Right now I wouldn't be caught dead in one.

Ok girls, I could really use a pep talk right about now..... :)

Anyway, the rest of you keep up the good work.. Hopefully some of the motivation you all have will rub off on me.

Take care
Hugs
Carol :cb:

Hey Carol!!

We were posting at the same time. First thing you need to do is come back and join us more often. These girls are on {fire} now and surely some of this inspiration will rub off on us...LOL.
We know how to do this thing!! Just make it through each day ...anyone can stay OP for 24 hours...right? Then you'll be on the next day and do the same thing. Truely taking "One Day at A Time". We have to know this in our hearts that we can DO IT!!! I am here for you, please email me anytime. We can do this together!!!

Your friend...Debbie

Hey floozies,

Tonight my dd and ds went to the Kings vs. Red Wings hockey game for a continuation of ds' birthday so I decided to take my 6 year old daughter out for dinner for a special girls' night out. She chose the restaurant, Marie Callendar's (a pie place in case you aren't familiar) and I had a great cobb salad that was totally on plan! It was such a great feeling eating this huge salad with bacon, egg, tomato, bleu cheese, grilled chicken, black olives and avocado drenched in Ranch dressing and still say that I'm on a diet....it really cracks me up. My dd and I had a lovely time too. She was very excited about our outing. She told me that it would have been boring if we stayed home. Maybe because her dinner consisted of macaroni and cheese with a cookie for dessert!

I have to say that the only success with losing weight that I have had in the past was with Weight Watchers (and one time NutriSystem, remember that one?)....knowing the scale was waiting for me every week would keep me on the straight and narrow until I fell off the program (too many times to count). My point is that this time around I think this board is keeping me accountable....thanks to all of you for the wonderful support!!:D

Carol-You can do it!! Just keep comin' round here!! I am having major problems staying OP right now, but at least I'm jogging my booty off!! These girls are such an inspiration!! None of us looks down on anyone if they go off plan, maybe just a little kick in the butt, otherwise we all have problems staying OP now and then!!

OH MY GOSH!!! Carol posted TWO days in a row!!!!!!! YOU CAN DO IT! BEST OF LUCK ON YOUR NEW WAY OF EATING!!!!!!!!!!

Jeanne: It's weird, but I keep thinking that I'm cheating!!!! I still watch my portions and count my calories, I guess its just drilled in my brain to do such a thing.

All of you low carbers: Do you minus the fiber count from the carb count of a food such as veggies?

Shelley: You will get OP soon!!!! You have did such a FANTASTIC job losing and maintaining and I must tell you that I could never put in the exercise hours like you do.

Guess what???? Weighed in today: 6 ugly pounds gone in 12 days!!!! YIPPPPEEEE!!!! I will take it, plus this is PMS week!!!!! I guess this thing really does work!
