Hello to all I hope everyone is doing fine today.....

My weight went up but I was expecting that because of the way my body is plus I ate out all day today. My husband and I went out to get our van fixed at Sears and got stuck for 2 hours in the Mall. We ended up eating at the food court. The good things was though that I got in some walking which is a plus. Then we came home for 30 mins and had to go back out pick up a kid and then head to Walmart to pick up my prescription, while I was there I ended up buying a pretty good pair of walking shoes (my old ones hurt my feet badly). Then we got dinner in town as well. Came home and did a workout on the Wii Fit Plus for 10 mins so I could add that to my final total of calories lost. Whew hopefully tomorrow won't be as hectic. More good news is that I finally got my tickers!!! :carrot::carrot::carrot:

I had more sleep last night than the night before.

Calories for yesterday: 1370 + :coffee:
Weigh In: 147.4
Down: 1.6 pounds

This is exactly where I was the day before. This is an example of how sensitive the body is. I can only imagine that working shift work, high stress, etc. wreaks absolute havoc on a body. But, yet, the body is resilient and bounces back. Of course, it takes it's toll over time.

Here is my recap for January and my comparison to previous months:
I reached goal in May. May to November reads the same.
November 2011: Stayed in or a little below my maintenance range
December 2011: Went on Vacation. Went 5 pounds above my maintenance range during vacation.
January 2012: Still had to deal with gain from Christmas vacation and allergic reaction. By the middle of the month, things were getting under control. Went 3.6 pounds above my maintenance range.
February 2012: Stayed within my maintenance range. Did not go above. Still dealing with an allergic reaction.

The positive for February is that I stayed within my maintenance range and did not go above. My weight did not drop to what I want it to be, though. I still have to stay focused on the positives, and that's that I stayed within my maintenance range. The more I figure out about this allergy, the more stable my weight will be (I think ;)).

I'm starting the month at 152.4. Yesterday's weigh in was 151.6, so I technically made my February goal of getting to 152. My next goal is 145 by April 15th (or maybe the 17th, when tax season officially ends this year). That would get me into the healthy BMI category. It's a pound a week which I would be able to do if weight loss were just math but, as we all know, not so much.

Good Morning everyone, I hope you all are having a good start to your day!:D
Stayed the same on the scale again this morning, but again I am happy with that. Throwing exercise in the mix is going to mess with the scale for a bit but WOW do I feel great!!! Originally when I was thinking about joining the gym I told myself my goal was to go 3 days a week. I wanted to set a goal I knew I could obtain but really that's just short changing myself. I need to set my goals a little higher for myself. In the past I have never ever been in the right mind set to go on this weight loss journey. The minute I missed a goal or didn't live up to my expectations I figured I was a failure and would give up immediately. I am not like that this time around, I have learned not to beat myself up over the little things, if I don't hit a goal or stray from my plan for a day, it's ok, it's called life. I get up dust myself off and keep moving forward. I am sometimes surprised with my attitude since I have always been very hard on myself, but not any more. I really love me enough to do this the right way and I know I deserve to be happy and healthy. SO... I did a little thinking last night and am truly going to set my goal to going 5 days a week to the gym. If for some reason I only make it 3 in a week no biggie I try again for 5 days the next week. My son loves the kids club, in fact yesterday he was playing with a little girl just about his age and didn't want to leave when I came to get him so that is a HUGE relief, I was kind of worried about how he would react to going.

Thanks for listening... I swear 3FC is my daily therapy, I am so happy I found you all!!! :hug:

decided to join the weigh in thread this month :) starting at 193.6 after starting this journey on Feb 3 at 207.7----- 14.1 pounds in a month! I am counting March 1 as the end of my Feb weight loss, b/c if I ended on Feb 29, that discounts all i lost on the evening of the 29th, etc.

my goal? to be 182 by April 1st--- 11.2 pounds in the month.My mini-goal? 189.9, and out of the 190s!!! Though, i'd honestly be happy with anything. just glad its moving in the right direction!

I;m not even going to relive the crap that was February. Other than Jack's birthday, there's nothing I want to remember from it, including the flu/ear infection that is lingering still despite my antibiotics.

Whatever, March is here so I started my month with a march on the treadmill, get it? Ha ha.. . . yes I'm a dork :) But hey, its not quite 9 am and i've clocked 7257 steps. Woot Woot. That's my new thing for the month, treadmill "march" every morning.

I have a good feeling about March. I'm going to get back into onederland for sure, and hopefully well under 200. Starting at 203.2, shooting for 10 pounds this month. I have a family trip to Florida in the middle of the month, but I am not going to let it derail me. My diet will be fine (my sister will be there and she eats the same way I do) and there will be opportunities for lots of walking and swimming, so no excuse not to stick to my plan.

So I "bounced" my way into March. I need to focus on drinking more water - I haven't done very well with that the last few days. I think I have found a house to rent (less than 10 miles from my office - instead of almost 40). I LOVE IT! I should find out tomorrow or the next day if I get it.

Holding steady at 192.6. I've been saying for days that at least it's not a gain, and while I'm really grateful that it's not, I'm really ready to see a number lower than this. Going to have to do some planning when I get home.

I wanted to step in here and tell everyone Hi! :wave: and :welcome: to all the new posters!

Angie I still haven't started TTOM! Sorry about the insomnia and restlessness. I am glad that I figured out what was going on with me with that. At one time, I thought I was going crazy, then I figured it out. I googled it and found out that I wasn't the only one with this issue. It doesn't fix anything, but knowing it's common and not unusual helps some.


I am feeling a little better, mentally about things. My Mom and I had a talk today. I was questioning the Dr's comment from yesterday about leukemia and the results from her blood tests. She reassured me that the cancer Dr. did blood work, and told her that the positive thing is that her blood work was all good. I'm thinking the surgeon mentioned leukemia because of where it was located on the forehead on the bone. I am hoping him mentioning radiation means that it is isolated to those areas and that's it. :?: Of course I am trying to connect the dots. At this point in time, I am seeing this as a positive, especially since my Mom reassured me about the blood work. I expressed to her that I want to be aware of what's going on and that I don't want things kept from me. As far as I know, I am going to her appointment on Tuesday. I feel a little more relaxed and I am grateful for that. I am hoping to stay this way until her appointment. ;)

Happy March everyone! I started the month off by gaining yet another .4 -- this is just nuts. Walked to the bus today, so it's about 25-30 minutes there and back and I go at a pretty good pace. I ate out twice today, on plan, but no doubt there will be a price to pay for the sodium. We'll see tomorrow. I think TOM is about finished and hopefully I can get back to losing.

Diana -- I'm happy for you that you got some reassurance from your mom and that you'll get to sit in on the appointment. I am starting to think that maybe I have something else going on -- I don't know what :dizzy: -- but something :)

Angie Sorry to hear about the struggle. Do you think it could be related to wheat? We discussed that last month. Do you journal you food every day? Maybe keep track of your food/weigh in and you could see a correlation. Anything in particular that you are suspicious of that could be causing a problem?

Morning all! Diana, I'm glad you got some reassurance from your mom. I hope she continues to let you be involved; I know well how stressful it can be trying to let aging parents let their kids help them.

I am up a full pound this morning! No particular reason, other than the fact that I have been going around feeling smug about not retaining water since I gave up grains. It'll go back down eventually. I'd say TGIF, but I have to work tomorrow. It won't kill me, though, and I'll make up for it next weekend.

RRB2, congrats on sticking to your exercise regimen. That's one of the thing I'm proudest of myself for, because it would be so much easier to just hit the couch when I get home rather than the bike.

I'm down a smidge this morning but still above 152. I'm sick of the 150s! I feel like I've been here for way too long, but I know that's just my impatience.

I have a big test coming up tomorrow: amaretto cheesecake. Every year during tax season, we have a special lunch and one of the secretaries brings cheesecake. I'm not a big fan of cheesecake but this one - omg, YUM. I don't care if I have to skip every other meal, I'm having some!

I woke up with a vicious headache, that I'm assuming has come from not getting enough sleep this week. It has been a roller coaster at work, and I am so grateful for the weekend. Especially now that tomorrow's all day event has been postponed because my SIL is sick. I have a full day to myself, and I'm contemplating a spa day: mani, pedi, threading, waxing, hair colour and cut. I'm so overdue for one of these days. After I sleep in of course. Oh wait, it just hit me, I wonder if I'm not losing because of the lack of sleep. I'm still holding steady at 192.6 today so that could be it... Interesting.

Looks like I'm not as over the flu/cold as I thought. Woke up so stuffed up this mornign, scratchy throat and all, but at least my ears no longer hurt .. . .trying to find a positive here. I marched this mornign, just not very fast or far for that matter, but it got done.

Weigh in was at 185.8 so down .4.
Slow and steady, that's what it'll take. I'll be so happy when i finally feel like myself again. My mind has caught up and is back on the right track, but my body just doesnt want to follow right now. Boo to that.

Kukkie - hope the head ache doesnt stay, i've been getting some crazy ones from the weather we are having here, its ridiculous.

Ona - Im ready to kick some butt this month too!!

Good morning! I walked early, so I get to check in with you guys :D I finally lost some weight today...I'm down .6 to 213.6 -- so hopefully I can get back on track now.

Diana -- Yes I journal my food every day; I think wheat/carbs is part of it, I notice that if I keep my carbs in the 50-80g range I can still lose, but if I go above that for more than a day I seriously slow down or gain. The lower my carbs the faster my losses seem to go. I thought it was wheat, but now I think it's actually just carbs...I did a little experiement and didn't have the result I expected. I find I've been very busy lately and I do much better when I have some on plan food prepared ahead (especially protein) so that it's there when I need it. Sorry for your bounce today! What's on your agenda this weekend?

Caroline -- lol -- sometimes I think the gains happen because I'm smug too!

Steph -- Congrats on your smidge!

I was very excited to be down 0.5lbs this morning, I really had a great day yesterday overall! Food was in check, workout was awesome (I am really happy I joined the gym) and I was feeling great until last night. I think I am starting to get a sinus infection, and I had to take my little guy to the Dr today and found he has a bilateral ear infection:(
I am kind of bummed I will not make it to the gym today but I have to get the little one healthy again. I plan on working out for at least a half an hour at home but pretty much going to try and get some rest and kick this sinus infection to the curb!

I just had a 6" spicy turkey melt on whole wheat from Subway -- it was only 320 calories and it was absolutely delicious! I had them load it up with the fresh veggies...lots of lettuce, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes...so good and I'm still about 800 calories under plan for the day!

Julie -- Congratulations on the .5 today :) I hope you are able to get back at it in the gym tomorrow, sounds like it's working for you.

Kris -- Congratulations on your nephew coming home!

Kelly -- Good job on your drop today! I think I will challenge myself to get into ONEderland this month..it's a bit of a stretch, but I like stretch goals :)

Hi Everyone! :wave:

It was a long day! We just got home!

My Mom got some news from the Dr. today. She didn't ask any questions though. So, we still don't know much. I didn't like one thing that the Dr. said, though. I can't worry about something that I don't really know, so I will try not to think about all of that right now. Also, she has an appointment to remove the stitches on Tuesday and then an appointment with the Cancer Dr. on Wednesday. Instead of driving up here 2 days in a row, both appointments will be on Wednesday. She also told me that her friend will be taking her to the Dr. Hmm, I guess you can see where this is headed right? :mad: I told her that it was fine that her friend takes her to the Dr. and that I will see them when I get there. :yes: It looks like she is going to be difficult to deal with.

Thistoo I love the smugness carbs. ;) That gave me a laugh!

Rennie Great job on the .8. About TTOM, I'm a kinda suspicious that I am having some thyroid issues. I did my labs last week. I have my appointment with the Dr. on Tuesday to go over those labs. That used to be a normal TTOM for me. Also, it used to be a lot heavier. It was also be 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. That was a bad time. The weight loss has helped with TTOM.

'Fession time...

I did not weigh in this morning because I ended up sharing fast food with my hubby when he came in from work at 3 am. This used to be a weekly ritual for us, and there was no sharing to it, but until last night I hadn't done that in at least 9 months.

I worked it off on the treadmill and made decent choices the rest of the day, but I'm still scared to face the scale in the morning. :(

Diana -- Good for you, just go to the Dr. with her. I think my mom would be the same way, she thinks she has to protect me from knowing things, but I'd much rather know and deal with the reality. I suspect she may also hide things because I might give her some unwanted advice (ie/ quit smoking...lol) We have a pretty busy weekend, snowboarding this morning, then I have to go in to work for a bit, but Cameron is coming along -- another person is bringing her daughter so they can play together while we try to get something done. Tomorrow we are going to see a play called Potted POtter which is spoof about the Harry Potter series (which we love) and then we are meeting friends later to see The Lorax. Congrats on your .6

Seven -- Ona's quote is perfect for you today! Forget about that and focus on what you're going to do now. One slip up in 9 months is not a bad record. :)

qt, good job on the 20! How much snow did you get? The 6 inches of wet slop we got Wed/Thurs is just about gone and it's going to be 50 next week. It's been a crazy mild winter here.

The scale was a surprise this morning: 151.6. I ate too much off-plan food yesterday, including lots of salty stuff, so I thought I'd be up instead of down. It's almost inconceivable to me that I could be under 150 by April. A year ago, I was thisclose to just giving up on myself. Motivation and commitment are funny things.

I agree with Diana and Angie, Seven! You have come a very long way. Hope you are not beating yourself up for this! I am a firm believer in finding a way to work everything into my food plan, whether I eat less of something else or exercise more to make up for it.

I am 297.4 this AM! That is 10.6lbs since I rededicated myself to losing the weight again (Feb 22). 30lbs til I get back to where I was before I jumped off the wagon!

At least I got in 30 min of exercise at home yesterday, and I plan to do the same thing today, but I can't wait to hit the gym, I have so much fun when I'm there and I really want to try Zumba this week. If it is as much fun as it looks it just might become one of my regular weekly activities!:carrot:

good morning!! my weigh in is on page 2--- or should be be posting the whole thing every time, or updating our original post? this is my first daily weigh in. Down to 192.2 today (was 193.1 yesterday) and happy b/c i am closer to 180s, and b/c 192 is what i weighed when i was 9 months pregnant with a 10.5 pound baby! i hated weighing more than i did when i was pregnant....

i agree with justaloozer, in that i try to find a way to work any food into my plan, if i want do. Yes, i had a 20 ounce dr pepper today but i ate an apple too and called it breakfast. it makes me feel like im not depriving too much. I don't do it every day or every meal, but, I do work in goodies to the calorie plan

Also, today is official one calendar month since starting. so, 15.5 pounds for a month! with minimal exercise. i know i wont be able to keep this pace up, but it sure is exciting for now

Fought hard not to weight in this Morning cause I had a good day Yesterday. Expected my weight to be up cause I had to get up really early.(didn't want to see that)Wanted to go to a Spin class that started at 9am so that meant getting up/being ready to leave out the door at 8:30.I made it and after spin, my legs let me do a little Zumba :dizzy:

Up today 1.4 to 186.0 it was the soft tacos and all of the sodium in the little bit of meat I used.

Angie missed you too :hug: Chelle isn't doing so well. :( I got a call yesterday from her asking what I thought about her coming home. Her legs had been giving her trouble with the chaffing from so much running and marching, now it's her hip. She said it aches so bad it's like someone is ripping her apart on the inside (and her knees) sounds like arthritis? What do you think? But I got another call today and they aren't gonna send her home just yet, and they aren't threatening to new start her (start her back at week 3). But at this point she won't graduate with her class but they won't make her sit it out either. I didn't understand that part but she's gonna talk with her commander and see what he says. She's trying so hard and the only thing that she is having trouble passing is the running portion of PT. Things are going for me/us. We are taking it one day at a time and prayerfully everything will fall into place. We are all under one roof again so it's a start. :) Good job on the pound down today :high: LOL that's the same advice I give my Mother also ... she's 97lbs and 5'7 and her doctor has told her to quit more times than a few (smh).

Thanks Diana, :) my Mom does the same thing to me. I have not taken her to one appt because she schedules them around the time her ex-husband is available when I am always available and I always have to find out everything from him. If I mention he told me then she'll talk about it. :shrug: My TOM is funny like that and always has been I came on a week early last month could have been stress (I'm almost sure) I do the 2.5 week off and on quite often. Sucks :(. Hope the doctor has good (uplifting) news for you and your Mom :hug:

I am finally feeling almost back to normal, and my little guy is on the mend as well. Yesterday I was lucky enough to get to the gym... I really didn't think I was going to make it but my husband made it home from work at a decent time. I was still going to just work out at home but about 45 minutes after he got home he looked at me and said "wow you are really doing a great job with the weight loss, I can really tell" This just made my year, so I looked at him and said thank you, I'm going to run to the gym... LOL Nothing like a compliment to motivate you when your not feeling all that good (sinus wise not body image wise).
I have hit a total of 32.5lbs lost today and I can't believe how good I feel, mentally, physically, and almost most important to me my spirit feels better then it has in a very long time. I feel like I have come to a point where I have purged a lot of the crap from my system that I have let build up and cloud my spirit over the years. I am eating so much better (not to say I don't eat some processed foods but so so much less then I have in the past) and I have found so many ways to make the "healthy" foods taste so good. For the first time in my life I enjoy cooking, I was the microwave, drive-thru queen for so long!!! Water has become my main beverage and for the first time ever I like it!?!?!
I want to be healthy, I want to be fit, so I will be!!!!!:D

Hey everyone - I had a great day pampering myself yesterday, but I ate dinner wayyyy too late. As a result, I'm up 1.7 to 194.3. On top of that we're going to MIL's for lunch, and of course she's not one for healthy cooking. I'll have to chug the water today and watch what I eat at her house. I can and will get back down.

Diana, the cheesecake was fabulous! I'm at the office today and I know there are leftovers downstairs, so I just had a protein shake to fill me up in the hopes it will stop me from scavenging. Lose It tells me 17 oz. of cheesecake is about 300 calories, so that's not too bad (assuming that's a normal slice - I have no idea!).

I had a good day yesterday, self-image-wise, and am feeling pretty good today. I've got a couple more hours of work and then I'll have my "weekend" - a few hours to crash on the couch with my cats. Only 7 more weeks of these crazy hours, and then I'll have my overtime money to spend on some new clothes. Sweet!

I just calculated, in the ten weeks of 2012, I've lost an average of .46 pounds a week. I guess I should be pleased that the scale is still moving in the right direction. It's sure painfully slow, though...

Steph, I'm a cat person, too. I used to have a make-shift shelter in my house. I spent two years capturing the feral alley cats, getting them neutered and then setting them free. I fostered the kittens young enough to be domesticated, so they could be adopted. I only kept two, a kitten that was near death, and a feral (after 3 years, she lets me pet her now!).

Something weird is still going on with me. I am still waking up with some facial (lip) swelling going on. I bought another bread to use for my sandwich at lunch. It doesn't contain soy lecithin or any soy at all. We'll see how it goes this week. Bottom line is that I feel like I still have some sort of allergic reaction going on. If the new bread doesn't change anything, I guess I will have to do some more analyzing. :?: Unless, this is how I feel with water weight from TTOM. Everything is different since the weight loss. I don't think it's TTOM because my lips feel weird in general.

I am UP 1.4 lbs today. I expected it, especially after the burger I had for lunch and the girl scouts cookies I ate. I worked out really hard after it but I knew I would have a gain anyway and I'm ok with it. Back on track today!!

I'm thinking of getting a heart rate monitor. Any suggestions?

we had a big snow storm and I lost inet for the weekend. My body had a hard time this weekend, stopped up, then the exact opposite, but today I'm feeling a bit better and my weigh in makes sense. Just a couple pounds from a new decade:D
I found out I have to do a second audition for the singing comp. I'm trying out for. I'm doing it via inet and it's due by Apr. 15. I'm going to wait until then to video myself so I can look as skinny as possible, lol.
I'm feeling really exausted so hopefully I can catch up on personals tomorrow cuz I'm going back to bed for a bit.

diana, the puffy lip feeling certainly sounds like an allergic reaction. It's weird how losing weight makes you more sensitive to some things. I've found that there are foods I just can't tolerate anymore.

I actually saw 149.8 on my scale last night - egad. It was up this morning, but not much. I was hoping to be in the 140s by spring and it looks like I'm going to make it. A big hug to everyone here for being so supportive.

Down .5 this morning that puts me at 33lbs down, so I have officially lost my entire (almost) 3 year old! I would still really like to hit 35lbs by the weekend but not a biggie if I don't I have been losing an average of about .5 a day and have a feeling it may slow itself down, but hay I'm will not complain if it doesn't!

No gym for me today since my little guy still has some gooey eyes so I am sure they don't want him running around the kids club today. We should be all good by Tuesday. I did find my really nice set of Reebok weights and some other workout items I have had packed away for probably 6 or more years, so I will work on arms and abs at home today. :jig:
Last night I started going threw some plastic tubs of clothes I have not worn in years. I think the last time I was 252lbs was maybe 6 years ago?!?! Most of the clothes I pulled out fit great, I had a really nice pair of designer jeans that in December I was not even able to get over my thighs ( I mean they might as well been my sons jeans I was trying to out on they were that small on me) and I was able to get them on and buttoned no problem. I was ecstatic... I feel like I have an entirely new wardrobe without having to spend a penny.
On another note I have inspired my best friend to get back into a healthy lifestyle. She is much much smaller then me but has gained about 25lbs over the last year. She is only 5' 1" and now is 155lbs she really want's to lose those 25 extra lbs she has put on and is really a great support system for me as well... OK I have rambled enough for now, hope you all have an awesome, wonder, positive day! :hug:

March is showing a steady loss... I haven't seen this since last September. Maybe my body is coming out of hibernation. I calculated the averages of all my stats since I got my Bodybugg in January. I've averaged a deficit of over 500 daily calories, and 49 minutes of activity/working out each day, while consuming 1639 calories. I don't want to below 1600 consumed, but I may be able to up the workouts since the good weather is starting to appear. I should be losing at least a pound a week, instead of .46, so I'm going to start visualization exercises, too.

Good morning :) Yesterday I did not exercise and so I could not check in -- it was my first day missing it since Lent began. So, yesterday morning I was up .6 which was not a surprise as I had lunch at Subway on Saturday and felt like I was retaining water. Then yesterday we were out for lunch, I had a slice of pizza, then popcorn at the play. Cam wasn't feeling well...well, he projectile vomited in the hallway, so we tried canned soup for dinner. I couldn't believe it when I put everything in lose it, my calories were 1844, but I ate 8000g of sodium!!! So I should not have been surprised to see 217.2 on the scale this morning. Ouch. Anyway, I've done my exercise for today, so here I am. Cameron is home from school this morning, but he's doing much better so I will probably take him to school later this morning. I was also feeling a little 'woozy' last night, so I'm hoping this flu bug will skip over me as I'm leaving for Nashville tomorrow! I'm also hoping for a major whoosh by tomorrow; totally clean eating today.

Julie -- Glad you are feeling better today. Congrats on your milestone!

Happynurse -- I normally just update my original post and then mention the day's weight in my daily check in. Nice job on your loss yesterday!

Rennie -- Oh, that's too bad that Chelle is suffering from the PT. The aching does sound a bit like arthritis, but she's so young for that -- do they have a medical team to look at that and make a diagnosis?

Diana -- Snowboarding was pretty good -- Cameron got top marks for everything except for listening to the instructor, but even on that he got the next to best score :) We didn't stay for practice time afterwards though because he had a fall and somehow managed to scrape his belly. Sorry about your gain - hope it's gone quickly. Hmm...about your lips, could it be something on your fruit or veggies? I'm wondering about lingering pesticides or something like that which might not have been washed off completely.

Salley -- At least slow movement on the scale is still movement :)

Ona -- Congratulations on your 157!

Rennie hey girl :hug: I have missed you! The smoothie is a full banana, 6 frozen strawberries, and about 2 handfuls of spinach (1cup ish), with a 1tbsp of flax seed and a cup of water. It blends surprisingly well in my magic bullet, but looks absolutely disgusting when it's blended :lol: It actually doesn't taste half bad though! And no texture issues either, smooth drinking!!! I'll see if I can post some pictures for you. I'm sorry to hear that Chelle isn't doing well, keeping my fingers crossed for her!

Hello everyone!

I thought I was doomed this weekend I hardly worked out at all. I got a :D surprise when I weighed myself today. :carrot::carrot: Down to 270.5 today. I also cleaned up and out my closet and found jeans that are too small for me right now but I am going to save them for when I can get into them again. I almost can right now, so just a little bit more.

I have attached a picture of my current kitchen and a picture of my new kitchen . . . can you tell which one is the new one? I'll be moving Easter weekend. Now I have lots of work to get done before then. I have some guys who said they will help me move, but I need to make sure everything is packed and ready to go.

Angie I hope Cameron is feeling better. Being sick like that is awful! I mostly eat organic veggies. I know that doesn't necessarily mean anything. :lol: I'm hoping it's a lingering reaction from the soy lecithin in the bread from Friday. Now my sandwich flatz and English muffins are completely soy free. The only issue that I can see is that the sandwich flatz contain guar gum. I have read that guar gum is a legume. I don't know if that will be an issue or not. I guess I will find out this week. ;)

An nsv of sorts tonight... I was/am exhausted. Had a rough day and was just done! But I hit the gym at 10PM (when dh got home from work) and worked out for 25 mins, burning 500 cals (according to the elliptical). I really didn't even want to go but I remembered the scale is up right now so I don't have the luxury of taking the day off!

We are not off to a good start in my house. DH has battled a cold for 1+ month now. That seemed to be getting better. Now he just woke up and he is in the bathroom vomiting. Not a good sign. He's a diabetic and does not make an effort to control his sugar with food at all. It's such a shame that he feels so bad all the time and it's directly related to how he eats and his sugar. :(

I have my Endo appointment this morning to go over my thyroid labs.

Loozer I was pleased about the 3 miles yesterday. I have been having a nagging injury from the half marathon I ran in January. I ran on a level track yesterday and did not have any pain. Now I have my sights set on running the St. Jude Full Marathon in December.

I'm down 1.4 today to 185.8 ... I tried this diet my friend is on where you eat fruit for the first day and I did well until my son made peppered chicken. I had a plate of that with white rice and then a half a cup of white rice with margarine and regular sugar so I am surprised I had a lower number at all since I ate that at like 8 something. Today is all veggies which I have no problem with but I have to confess. I've had a bag of Lays Honey barbecue, a small single serving plain M&M's and an Arizona Energy Tea. But I have cooked some spinach, yellow squash and zucchini, and turnips. So I am set. I have beets and cucumber also. And cabbage soup that is surprisingly good. Ok done :D

Thanks Angie :hug: she can go to sick call I think is what it's called but she doesn't want to draw attention to herself so she keeps trying to hold off. I'm hoping she gets to call me again before we leave. Angie you and Cam take care of yourselves and have fun in Nashville. :) Is this business or pleasure? Rissa was sick yesterday. She had the poopies. It started on Sunday right before church but she made it through service and then yesterday she started at it again, eww :) but all better today. :)

Thanks Kukkie :hug: I'll support whatever decision she makes. But I don't want her to walk/run around hurting, she is trying to stay/be so strong and she doesn't realize she has already showed us her strength. I'm proud of her :) I may give that smoothie a shot minus the banana (I absolutely hate the smell of bananas) I only eat the unripe ones but when I blend it I can smell it (crazy I know). I'll use peaches and let you know why I make it :) maybe tomorrow since it's fruit and veggie day. :) Kukkie sorry about the up today, it'll be gone soon :hug:

Everything was good at my Endo appointment today. I thought my thyroid meds were off because of how crazy last months TTOM was. It looks like this month is going to be shorter. Although, it has been known to surprise me and do it's own thing. ;) So my thyroid meds, blood pressure, and labs were all good. My Mom combined 2 of her appointments on one day. Her appointment is tomorrow. I will update when I get back to work after the appointment.

Apparently I roll my ankles when I run so I got a nice little pull on the inside of my right leg, near the ankle. These new stability shoes (New Balance) are supposed to help that. For right now they just feel straaange, and I'm having to think about each stride I take. Let me know which kind you get Steph.

Went for a run tonight. I'm keeping them relatively short and sweet before anything gets precarious. Tomorrow is a simple 30 minute walk. Ooo la la, summer's coming, and many of my friends are graduating. I wanna look good for those graduation pics.

Thank you for the thoughts for my Mom. :hug: They changed her appointment to earlier this morning rather than in the afternoon. I got up an hour earlier than normal, but I didn't sleep much last night. I tossed and turned all night. I didn't feel as swollen this morning even though I saw a significant gain. I know it's my body's reaction to lack of sleep. I'm 100% on plan and still working out every day.

Hi folks - just a quick check-in as I have to run off to work early today.

I am back from India - I had an awesome time. Fascinating place, amazing food, heaps of memories. I already can't wait to go back.

The best part (for this post, anyhow) is that I lost weight there! I did get sick - just for one day, though my appetite was reduced for several days - but apart from that, I ate according to my plan, indulging when the food was truly special (which it often was) and eating sparingly when it was just "eh". I didn't touch any alcohol when I was there, which I am sure helped also.

I was 160 on day I left, slightly elevated off my then-current low from the end of my period. I came back at 156, and weighed in this morning at 155, shattering my previous low. I expect some fuctuation as my body reacclimates to my home routine, but it is a great feeling.

I think I am going to take a break from 3fc for a while though - some of the things I saw there in india have given me an even stronger dose of perspective that really wears down my patience for some of the rhetoric of deprivation that people use when they are whining about weight loss, and I think I need to get away from it for a bit. not this thread in particular - you folks always seem to have your head on straight about that sort of thing and that is why I like participating here. But as to the board in general - I should take a break before I start getting sharp with people. ;)

crainjo Sorry about the injury but great on the no pain! I tried running but all I did was hurt my knees and ankles. Now I "run" on the elliptical, moving as fast as I can go, which is pretty fast. I am hoping as the weight melts, I will be able to run.

Good Morning!!!!

Stayed the same on the scale this morning, I knew my body was going to hang on to the 250's for a little while, but what is MORE IMPORTANT THEN THE SCALE is I feel fabulous!!! The gym is calling my name again today and will be headed over there in a little while, I wish I could find my bathing suit I really wanted to join in on aqua-fit! I guess I just might have to run to the store this afternoon and get a new (inexpensive) one I really don't want to invest in any clothes right now, but I will consider this workout gear... LOL
I was going threw more bins of clothes that I wasn't able to wear for the last 5 or so years and have a lot of stuff I can wear now and some more things that I am 10lbs or so away from wearing which really makes me happy since unfortunately $$$ is not the most abundant thing in out house right now.

On a different note I watched Dr Oz yesterday and just about cried the entire time... he was doing a show on the pro-ana movement and his guests stories/lives were just heart breaking. Grown woman so out of control that they are 70 - 80lbs and still see nothing but fat woman when they look in the mirror. It just puts a lot if things into perspective, I started this journey saying I didn't care if I was skinny/thin I just wanted to be healthy, this is the first time I have ever had this attitude. Yes I have set weight goals and get on my scale every morning but it's so not about the # for me. It's about my resting heart rate and BP which has come down on its own, it's about the energy I have to run around with my son, it's about not sitting on the couch day in and day out being depressed saying WHY ME! Now as I make these better decisions for my life a side effect of this is losing weight, awesome killing two birds with one stone now I get to be healthy and have more places to shop for clothes... LOL!

down another pound to 184.8. I did well after my morning muchies/snacks. I ate all veggies with the exception of about a golf ball size of barbecued pork. Then my son decided he had a taste for pancakes and I ate one with lite syrup :D

Today is starting off good. I had a cup of coffee and today is veggie and fruit day so I got this. :)

Kukkie I didn't make it back to the store yet but I have my little list for my smoothie so I will make it and let you know :) Good job on the .9 today :)

Steph that's right you stay in that zone :high:. I want to get the bodybugg so bad, I've wanted it since 2010 ... one of these days :D. I am excited about seeing her. The 2 times that I have got to talk to her were like having her all over again (that's the only way to describe the excitement) I miss her so much. :)

I don't add any seasoning. My Mom adds bacon fat and sugar because they have a bitter taste but I like the bitter taste. :) My day went well. I am actually trying not to think ahead for anything. When I give things too much thought it makes me edgy and restless, which causes me to have stomach issues, which means I'm worrying about things which I have no control over. Amanda, I hope the shoes help you. :hug: I have a pair of Aspire shape up type shoes that I can't wear because they make my back hurt really bad. Then I bought a pair of Fila Sculpt and Tone that work wonders. It's funny the shoes look the same to me but are so different. Amanda you look great, keep up the great work :)

Jinxy no it's not a trend, we just sometimes have days where we want what we want. And it's not that we over do it all the time on those days but our bodies have gotten use to not having that stuff in them so when we eat the cake or the fast food our bodies have a crazy reaction and the numbers rise. (thank goodness the are only temporary) so water, water, water! Whoosh that stuff away and let's bring on your next whoosh :hug: My neighbor had bday cake (her daughters bday) my little one went, I left but told her to text me when she cut the cake (I can't resist bday cake) well she forgot to text me but told me the cake was chocolate and I am not a fan, love the yellow cake, so it worked out. But then I had a bought with the Froot Loops. I am a kid cereal nut, though I have gotten better :D

I'm not sure where I got leukemia from. :?:

Tomorrow they are doing a PET scan just to make sure that cancer isn't elsewhere. The other scans came back negative about other locations, but they are just wanting to make sure. Next week they are doing a bone marrow test to make sure the cancer hasn't spread there. The big problem is where it's located on the forehead. This is very unusual. There was a conference of all the cancer doctors in Charleston, yesterday. My Mom's case was part of their discussion just because of how unusual it is.

Here's the upsetting thing. This is the exact same thing that my Dad had. I just can't believe that my Mom has the same thing. I could see her as having lung cancer because she smoked for a long time, etc. No one else in the family has ever had this. This is so odd.

The Dr. mentioned a 70% cure rate. I'm sure a lot will be determined by the next scan and bone marrow test.

Anyways, that's the update. I appreciate all the continued thoughts and prayers.

After not Weighing-In for 2 days, I WI @ 157.4 today.Only being up .2 helps strengthen my mentality about the food choices I'm making. Had a lot going on Monday so I couldn't find the time to workout.Did go to Spin yesterday and it was a killer :dizzy: sweat was everywhere :dizzy: Leg muscles were still sore today but still pushed for a jog/walk this morning and went to Power pump today.

Morning all!!

I had a GREAT day of eating yesterday and the scale praised me with another lb lost. 298 today. Just .6 away from last Saturdays weigh in. I guess I won't be losing three new pounds this week like I had hoped since there are only 2 more days til official weigh in. The food I had last weekend is so NOT worth the scale bouncing the way it did this week. I am grateful for this thread because writing it down will remind me that nothing tastes better than seeing the scale go down.

Weighed in this morning 1.8 down to 183.0. Found out that my friend that use to be here with us on 3FC has found what works for her and is down to 176 from 215 on January 1st. She said all she has done is changed her way of eating.

Salley, look at you go CONGRATS on yet another new low! :high: Are you doing/trying anything new? I so want to get back to my low of 165 almost two years ago :) but I need to be consistent first :D. I like the Earth Shoes from Walmart (but only buy them if they are on sale) really comfortable and a few of their other shoes. All of the toner type or sneakers I buy have come from Marshall's, TJMaxx or Ross. They are less expensive but usually have some irregularity that is hard to notice/find.

Diana that is odd that your Mom has the same thing that your Dad did. Life is so interesting, always has us wondering. I'm happy to hear that it is 70% curable. That's a blessing. Praying that the cancer has not spread :hug: Hope you rested well :hug: How is your husband? I think I read he wasn't feeling well due to not eating correctly. Has that smooth over? Good job on the 1.2 down this morning :)

Lyla good job on the 2.9 whoosh :high: I believe it is like a cleanse. It's only for 7 days and I feel fine. I'm doing it with a neighbor. It is actually helping get back the discipline I need to do this again and to get back into the many 12's and mediums that I have in my closet. I am getting in a little protein because I do lack discipline right now. I had yogurt and hummus yesterday so I'm good, thanks for caring :hug:

Rennie lmao, love the taking your scale with you comment! Did you try the smoothie? How'd you like it? I'm not a big fan of ripe bananas either, something about the sweet smell of it makes me want to gag. I do use it in the smoothie to give it a sweeter taste though, and I can smell it a bit, but it's much more bearable.

Diana I wanted to ask you if you've ever been to a naturopathic doctor. I mentioned to a colleague of mine that I was developing some sort of intolerance to apples, and she recommended that I see her naturopathic doctor. Apparently the doctor told her that food intolerances and allergies that develop later in life are often symptoms of an underlying problem. So if you treat the underlying problem, the food intolerances can clear up as well. It's an interesting theory, and I think I may check it out. It's covered by my health benefits, so I don't have anything to lose...except 90 minutes of my time :lol:

Is it Friday yet??????? I am so ready for the weekend - even though I have sooo much work to do, I'm ready to get at it. My mom wanted to come home for the day on Saturday but I had to tell her unfortunately I can't. I have so much work to do at my house and I'll be babysitting the grandbabies for part of the day on Saturday. I felt bad telling her no, but I have to get my house ready to move and I can't do that if I'm sitting with her at her house. I told her maybe on Sunday. We had a good time last weekend, but it really wore her out and she gave us guite a scare on Sunday. She started having whole body tremors and shakes (she has Parkinson's). She's never had them before - only in one hand and not very bad. She could barely speak, the nurse had to hold her glass of water for her to take her medicines, she was having trouble walking, etc. They lasted for a couple of days and quit sometime during the night between Monday night and Sunday morning. I don't know if it's because she was so worn out or what but it was scarey. She is stressed right now and that can cause the tremors, but it was really, really bad. Her next appointment with her Parkinson's doctor was scheduled for the end of the month, I called and got it moved up to Tuesday next week (the first available appointment they had). I am exhausted . . . as usual lately . . . and have so much to do. Sleep would be good. :)

Kukkie, I have thought about it but that means I can't have my coffee, can drink any water and I would have to get n---d and that is never going to happen :D. Plus I think once you move around the way we have to in the morning before finally getting out of here, you've burned some extra calories so it would almost not be accurate then either. (I know I think too much ;) No I haven't tried it yet. I am gonna get out of here in a little while though and get my peaches, spinach, and a bag of frozen strawberries. I have the flaxseed and I will probably add protein powder to it. Do you add water?

Rennie, hope this new plan you're on jumps starts you to kicking some fat butt! I'm not really doing anything new to explain why I've suddenly started losing. I've been tweaking things along the way without much success. And I've been consistently working out, averaging about an hour a day, and averaging about 1625 calories. I strongly suspect it has to do with the change in seasons. I've been struggling with a severe depression this Winter, too, and that seems to be lifting at the same time. So it may just be the lengthening of daylight.

MamaP, with all the stress added to your life about the new house and your mom, hope you make room for yourself as a priority.:spin: Congrats on you -.8!

Suzukigurl and Justaloozer, way to go on dropping a full pound!

Lyla, The scale is going back in the right direction, hang in there...

Salley, you're just flying down the scale. Very impressive. You mentioned a while back that you had taken in a feral cat. My newest addition, Sadie, was a stray and I was concerned she might be feral but she's sweet and affectionate, so she must have been with people at some point. She had also been spayed by a rescue group (she has a tattoo), so she must have been picked up by a group like yours that does spay and release. I figure that's when she landed in my back yard. I'm so happy to have her!

kris, I meant to mention that your new kitchen looks fabulous! Good luck with the packing and moving. It's stressful but exciting.

diana, I hope you're feeling less anxious about your mom now that you know what's going on.

I don't know what I've got but I've been so exausted and continually in the bathroom. I think it's some kind of virus along with this sinus infection. In the meantime I'm preparing to audition in Atlanta, GA next weekend (17th) for Season 3 of the Voice. In spite of being sick, I had to force myself to move around because I needed some new clothes for the trip. I got a new dress-I have a waist again! I needed new bras and underwear too, since I'm down almost 30 lbs from my highest weight, I felt like I was wearing parachutes instead of undergarments:o I still need new shoes but I'm hoping to feel better first. Well, I'm going back to bed but I wanted to at least check in, I hope everyone is doing well!

Down another 1lb this morning... WooHoo that puts me at 250, how awesome is that, my mini goal (in the back of my mind) was to try and be 250 or less by my sons birthday, and he will be 3 tomorrow! I feel great and it's just a little more motivation to get healthier and fit as I go forward on my journey.

I am going to get my butt in gear this morning and join in on Zumba today, I have to admit I am feeling a little intimidated but one part of my journey is to push myself out of my comfort zone. So with that said I am going to get ready to dance some calories away! :dizzy:

Whoooshhhhh. I'm down 2.3 to 192.2. Finally!

On the flip side, I'm trying really really hard to hold it together at work, but I'm growing increasingly frustrated and I feel like I'm standing on a ledge. Normally I leave work problems at work, but last night I wasn't able to shut my brain off, so I went to bed early, but when I woke up this morning it was still staring me in the face! It's a difficult situation, in which I'm not getting credit for the things I've accomplished, but I am getting the flak for things that are missing the mark. Double-edged sword. I am still looking for something new, and I've got a couple of potential opportunities in the works. I just really need to find my resolve so that I can get through the next few weeks. Sorry for the rant, I didn't realize how much I needed to get off my chest.

Good Morning (oops it's afternoon now :D)down .8 to 182.2. Today is supposed to be feast day. Suppose to eat beef and tomatoes. Eat two 10 oz. portions of lean beef. Hamburger is OK. Combine this with six whole tomatoes. And today I'm supposed to increase my water intake by one quart (so add to the 10 glasses).

Thanks Lyla :), I had a full dinner last evening. :D I had homemade mashed potatoes, homemade chicken gravy, a fried chicken leg, green peas and 3 rolls (which I'm gonna have to find at the store so I can add the calories to my count) :) Good job on your .9 down :)

Kukkie I made my smoothie, 1 cup of strawberries, a handful of baby spinach, 3ozs of peaches, 1tbsp of flaxseed meal, a 6oz vanilla Greek yogurt and about a cup of water. It doesn't taste bad at all more like the strawberries have taken over. It looks awful. I tried to take a picture of it to show the pukey look of it but it doesn't show well in the picture. :)

Salley you and these new lows WAY TO GO :high: Salley I am so hoping that is what it does. I so want to be in the 170's again. I always come close and screw up really bad. With this plan (that I haven't followed through on fully) I have had to had something that I really want every evening which hasn't been good but I have been conscious enough not to over do it. So made it will help this go around. Well I'm glad things are easing up for you and you are getting better and making improvements that are making you smile :hug:

Cutie first get something heavy and step on it then weigh after without it. That's what my son and I do, before getting new batteries. I do think they sometimes get stuck but not sure how :dizzy:

Spring BREAK!!!

Gone camping, then to the Houstonian spa and hotel, then to the rodeo!
Bringing my tennis shoes camping, so I can hike there. Will watch my alcohol intake and s'more intake as well. The hotel has a sweet gym and awesome pool, so I'll take advantage of that. And I'll eat before I go to the rodeo.

I stepped on the scale today and got a big surprise I'm down to 267.6 :carrot::cb:. I finally made it to the 260's! Today was my off exercise day today though and I'm freaked out that it will go back up or that it is a fluke with the scale :lol:. Does anybody else obsess about this too on their day off?

Jinxy, that is a crazy whoosh, Good for you and I do hope that it sticks. :high: The only time I had one that great was when I drank some Senna tea for the first time. Oh my goodness I was shocked and it actually stuck. Do you Ladies remember that? Then Kukkie told me about the warnings so I have only drank it once again in almost two years. It got things moving again. :) Oh and congrats on seeing the new decade :high:

I am use to goofing off a lot at work. I have been working on end of the month stuff. This next week will be very busy, too. My Mom has 3 appointments this week and I need to finish up some office stuff. I'm hoping I will have a better handle on things after I finish with the office. Also, personal and corporate tax stuff is done! :yay: We use a CPA, but I had to get my personal stuff together for her. All of those extra things just kinda set me me back and overwhelmed me. Don't want to stress out too much! :fr: :D

So, I think I need to rethink my plan. On straight Atkins induction I lost 10 lbs in a week then gained 3 back in two days. I had a higher carb day yesterday (like 120 carbs rather than the normal 20 carbs) and dropped two of the extra pounds. I think I am going to do two higher carb days a week to keep my system from getting used to the lower carbs. I'm gonna try it starting today and see how that works!

Rennie thanks for ur encouragement! :hug:a 3FC Celebrity, lol, I hope so! My mind has been completely racing with excitement and the what-if's, so much so that my stomach is a mess. I'm trying to relax! And, trying to clear up my sinuses, I can sing like this but it's not very comfortable. I looked up the weather for Atlanta and it's going to be 74 degrees and rainy that day so now I'm stressing over how I'm going to do my hair. Luckily my best friend is going with me and she's a hair dresser:D I found out the producers will tell me right away if they want me to do a call back, if they do I will have to stay in Atlanta for a couple extra days, and if I make it past that "round" then I'll have to go to California for a week in May! I've never been to CA:^:
oh, I was the same weight today as yesterday but it's TOM week so whateverrrr! I haven't been able to walk either, my ankle - heel has a sharp nasty pain with any weight put on it. I've been trying to do gentle stretches and rest it so I can get back to my routine. The good thing is my weight loss isn't depending on walking, i'm still sticking to my diet for that, walking has just been an extra.

Down another pound to 181.2. I am determined to make it to the 170's by Monday. My first mini goal is actually to see 175.4 will be 20lbs down from my original start with 3FC but not my highest weight. At the Fitness Challenge this morning I was down 6.5lbs from my start on 1/14 of 189.5 and only down .5 on body fat. I'm fine with it. It's a jump start to many successes ahead.

Thanks Diana my Mom came over (surprise) I got her to fry some fish, (I just don't fry it up well) not to my liking, the kids and my husband will eat it but I prefer my Mom's ... we also had hushpuppies and home fried potatoes. Well Chelle called me today and they are sending her home. Her hip, knees, legs and now her feet are just to much. Her DS said that she is a really good soldier and she should reenlist in 6 months. She thinks that she is disappointing me and I am trying to reassure her that if she is in pain all the time I would much rather her be here where I can and will tend to her. She's 19 but she is still Mommy's baby :D. I can't wait to see her. I'm just waiting for a call now to know when I can go get her. I'm not gonna pull the kids out of school now though. I will drive to SC with someone to help me drive and the 3 of us will take turns driving back, so no extra money spent. Saving us about $700.

Hi Everyone! :wave: The troops (family) wanted Mexican food tonight. I wanted to make something special for my Mom. I used to take her to On The Border so she could get their Ultimate Loaded Queso. She loves that stuff! On the Border closed here, so she can't get it any longer. I made it for her tonight and she really enjoyed it. DH and I had tacos. I tried to watch the sodium, but I'm sure it was still a lot. I'm expecting a gain tomorrow from the sodium. We'll see how bad it is. :yikes: It will pass in time. The good thing is that everything I ate was soy free. I have a hard time finding things that don't contain soy (taco shells, etc). It's crazy how much stuff has soy.

Non-Scale Victory!

I'm going on a cruise next week and ordered 2 pairs of shorts from Chico's online in February. I wear a size 4.5 (totally messed up pseudo sizing- 4.5 is about a size 22) and they only carry their plus sizes online.

The shorts came and they were too big! YAY! I called and ordered another 2 pairs in size 4.

They came a couple of weeks ago, but I just put the box aside as I've been busy.

Tried them today since we're starting to pack for the trip- the size 4s are too big!

Hells yes!

(Although now I still need to find at least 1 more pair of shorts for the trip and don't have time to wait for more Chico's shorts to arrive. Headed to the mall tomorrow...)

I knew the sodium from the Mexican food would get me.

I am really curious as to why my weight hasn't even attempted to drop back down. I know I have been battling the food allergy, last month I had the almost 2 week TTOM, and now the stress/lack of sleep. But, I would think something would give. I have also been lifting weights more and using heavier weights. Women don't gain muscle quickly, so that's not the issue. (There are a lot of misconceptions about women and weight lifting and of course everyone is different. It have read multiple studies that say it can take a woman almost a year of heavy lifting to gain 1-2 pounds of muscle. :dunno: I'm sticking with this train of thought for now.) I am going to give it until the first of the month and then analyze things again.

Busy & very tempting day yesterday, it was my sons 3rd birthday party at my parents house and boy oh boy there was some really good, yummy food everywhere! Pizza, cake, crackers with cheese... mmmmmm, but I am very proud to say I had my own food and only snacked on some of the fruit, veggies and a few small slices of cheese. So I was very proud of my choices! I didn't make it to the gym but my Mom has a tread mill so I got about 30 minutes in that way. Well I have another busy day today so I hope you all have an awesome day!:)

Yea! I maintained my latest new low from yesterday! The last couple of days have been pretty busy. The Celtic band I'm in had 1 gig Friday, and 3 Saturday. I got a good workout done on Friday, but only 40 minutes on my mini elliptical Saturday.

I've had a few NSVs, too: It's typical for me to stress eat during this kind of activity, but I decided to trust that I had prepared for my triggers, and it worked. Also, I had to purchase new black pants for Friday night, as all my current and past (skinnier) pants were too big for me. *Then*, at the gig, I caught my reflection in a window and didn't recognize who that person was... it took a moment to realize that normal looking person was me!

Another NSV, which is a biggie, is my feet don't hurt like they used to. It used to be very painful after getting up in the morning, and take awhile before I could walk comfortably; and forget walking around barefoot without a heavily arched shoe. The Dr. told me 24 years ago pregnancy caused my flat feet because I gained so much (I weighed 165 then!). I've had painful feet ever since, until about ten pounds ago. I first noticed I could walk in the morning easily. Then last week, I've noticed I'm walking around barefoot in my house a lot.

All In, way to go on getting a walk in. Small walks have a way of turning in to full (enjoyable) workouts somewhere down the road...

qtapostolic, I hope you're finally over the cruds, and you perform your audition the way you want.

Suzukigurl, Congrats on getting out of the 250s, that's a biggie! Time for a celebration. You're just melting it off!

HappyNurse, Congrats on making it to the 180s! You're making fantastic progress!

MamaP, you too are making great progress, especially with the stress you're under right now. Those batteries are working just fine. :)

Diana, you're describing similar difficulties with weight training and weight loss that I've been struggling with. I don't think the scale will be a reliable tool for awhile to measure your progress. It's better to see how your body is changing by how your clothes fit. I actually gained a little when I first started weights, then lost what I gained and my losses crawled to nearly a halt this past January. My personal trainer told me to take the scale numbers with a grain of salt, as she could see my body was changing shape, and could see so much progress in my strength and endurance. It's been seven months since I've been consistently working out, and the scale only just started moving in a meaningful way beginning this month. But I've lost three dress sizes, and am more fit than I was before I ever gained the weight in the first place. I'm still looking for answers myself as to why the scale didn't move much, and don't know if this month's trend of steady progress will continue. I'm sticking with it anyway, because I haven't come across a better alternative. Good luck!

Ok that fried yummy food did my son and I in. We are both up 2lbs on the scale. Salt/sodium is nothing to play with for sure. It will mess you up every time :D So todays weigh in is 183.2 ...

Diana your evening sounds like it was a wonderful one for all of you. :) The fish was whiting which I love. I only ate one piece, but the potatoes added to it and 3 hushpuppies didn't help. That is definitely too much for one meal of junk :D. I was hoping Chelle would call back with some idea last evening but she didn't. I really would love to go down now but she said they have to get her packet ready for her to leave. So I understand. :) I've never even thought about lifting weighs. The closes I have come to it is walking with the 2-3lb weights. So I admire all of you that are doing it. :) Keep up the great work :high: Sorry about the up this morning :hug:

We worked together for 27yrs ;) He said he recognized the voice but then just said,"oh.my goodness" :D That's just awesome about your feet :yay: I'm so happy for you. the sky's the limit for you :) At one time I couldn't even stand -up for very long(problems breathing)My Mother had to go in stores and do stuff for me But God.:)

I'm close to my highest weight ever and am just getting back on this bandwagon -- this time has to be for real! My biggest challenge right now is getting moving. My current goal is to walk at least 30 minutes every day for the next 90 days.

I've just been relaxing today since I had a backache all night (plus other pains) and woke up in pain, I took Aleve and I should be good to go tomorrow (I took it as another one of my days off). I'm kinda irritated over my weight jumping up but hopefully it'll start to go down again soon. Hope everyone is ok and still going.

Hi Everyone! :wave: I got back on here too late to finish up my personals. This week is going to be busy with my Mom's appointments. You can just ignore me since I probably won't have time to post back. I will read about all of your progress, though. Wishing everyone a healthy and on plan week! My clothes are fitting tighter than they were. My body may just be going through a transition. That's why I want to give it the rest of the month. Also, to make sure what's going on is not from the previous allergic reaction. That stuff takes a while to clear up.

I did have a customer about freak out when he saw me the week before last. He had not seen me since November and told me that I don't need to lose any more weight. Hmm, I am actually heavier than I was in November and my clothes are tighter. :lol: I mentioned to DH what the customer said. DH told me that he didn't want to say anything to me, but I am looking thinner and I don't need to lose anymore weight. Hmm, Hello! the scale is up and my damn clothes are are tighter. :rofl: There must be something going on. Maybe it's all going to fall into place soon. ;) I hope so.

Hello! I'm back, and in recovery from my trip...lol. I am basically at the same weight I was when I left, so I guess that's not bad, but that was way high due to some sodium issues before I left; I'm hoping I'll drop 3-4lbs this week of water and sodium.

The weather was beautiful here today -- Cameron has been sick since last Sunday, and was in need of fresh air and exercise, so we took a long walk with Goliath and stopped at the park for Cameron to try his scooter out in the skateboard/bmx area. After that we came home, I cleaned a little, then we had our first BBQ of the season, I grilled burgers (super lean) and we ate those with baby carrots and apple slices :) Food and exercise on track for today.

The trip to Nashville was great, but I didn't see much of the city at all -- again. First, I missed my Tuesday morning flight, so I didn't have that day to check things out -- the next flight was at 4:30 in the afternoon. Once I got there I met a woman on the shuttle to the hotel and we hit it off, so we had dinner together -- and hung out quite a bit until she left on Thursday afternoon. To help me meet new people and not just hole up in my room my friend gave me a challenge. For every new person I met and had a drink with (and took a photo with) he would buy me 2 drinks when he was in town next. I met and took pics with 9 people! I'm going to stretch out the drinks over a few trips...lol. The challenge was a lot of fun, and turned out to be a great ice breaker; everyone was on board to help me win big. I spent most of the evening with two sisters from Michigan and South Carolina who were there for a skin care convention and we hung out in an Irish Pub watching a great band.

The hotel was enormous, they said it was 70 acres, and I believe it; it took me about 10-15 minutes to walk from my room to the convention area where my meetings took place, so I got in lots of walking to make up for the great food and drinks.

Diana, we ate at the Old Hickory restaurant, it was delicious, but every single thing is charged separately -- I ate the cheapest, smallest steak on the menu (the filet mignon) with asaparagus and blue cheese, a glass of wine and a coffee and it was $88 just for my dinner! Ouch. Thankfully the rest of the breakfasts and lunches were provided, and for my other dinners I had a slice of pizza and gumbo respectively..lol each around $7. Still, the steak at Old Hickory was well worth it; I kind of wish I had tried the rib eye, but it was so big and I was afraid I'd eat it all...lol. About your weight, do you keep measurements? That might tell the story better. I'm planning to start doing this...I'm up 17lbs from my low and people keep telling me it looks like I've lost more ((???!!!)

I'm not going to try to catch up on personals, just going to jump back in from here. I hope to make this a big successful week, I have lunch ready for tomorrow and chicken marinating for dinner tomorrow.

Angie, good for you for taking up your friend's challenge. It sounds like you met some nice folks.

Diana, it's weird when other people's perception of us doesn't match our own, isn't it? Lately, people have been telling me not to get "too thin" - when I'm not even to a healthy BMI yet!

Salley, I had a similar NSV to yours. I walked 3 miles at a local park yesterday and, at the end, realized I barely felt fatigued. Last time I did that walk, I weighed 50 pounds more. The difference was huge!

I'm not seeing any downward movement on the scale but am still hoping to break 150 this week. I hope everyone has success with their goals this week!

All I can say about my weigh in today is that I'm disappointed. TOM is over and thought I'd drop from yesterday, not go up. Oh well, Feb was very frustrating until the end of the month so maybe March will be the same way. Just have to keep trying;)

Rennie The voice doesn't air their auditions like other shows until you make it through a couple rounds and go in front of their star judges so I'm far from that right now. I will keep everyone updated as much as is allowed--if I do make it through it is for season 3 which wont start until fall.

249.5 wants to stay around for a little while LOL... No change on the scale this morning! I do have to say I feel wonderful, I can feel the changes and I am loving it. Food used to be my addiction (well it still is) but now I get such a high off of feeling so good.

I know I already mentioned this but we had a Birthday party for my son this past weekend and saw family/friends that I have not seen since Christmas... just about everyone was like OMG you look great did you lose weight, are you dieting etc... It really felt good to know that people can see a change. I have not made mention to many people that I am changing the way I live and the way I am taking care of myself now so most people that I have not seen in person don't know that I am losing weight. It was nice to see myself in pictures with my son, I avoided the camera for a very long time. I know I still have a long journey ahead of me, and I have a good amount of weight to lose but WOW I have really come so far already.

Steph, hey, I took a 3 mile walk in the park yesterday, too! It's so nice to be able to actually *enjoy* it. Fifty pounds is lot to have lost. It's nice to get the rewards being physically fit brings.

QT, try not to let it get you down... your body has been busy fighting to get well and is still probably making adjustments. Stay the course, and you'll see the progress... I have a friend who is also auditioning for The Voice. I'll have to be rooting for both of you!

Held steady today @ 158.0! Body why do you like to hold on to water weight so long :mad: wasn't going to WI today but will feel better(go back to my WI routine) about not Weighing in after I get back to where i was.
Enjoyed the new gym building this Morning :carrot: and loved TRX :love: want to go back to another TRX class tonight but have Church :?: I can make it, just take my clothes,take a shower there and stuff :?: But.. The heart/mind is willing but the longer i sit here, my body's not gonna let me do that I'm afraid. Will go to Spin in the Morning though(LW) and TRX again :carrot:

UGH! I ate 10, yes TEN cookies today. I went to the gym and worked out harder than ever before to make up for it. I am still under my calorie range but I feel so stupid for binging. :( I will never make my goal if I keep doing that!

Hello! I'm down 2lbs of water weight today -- yay! I'm cautiously optimistic about the rest of this week...I'm loving the nice weather we have this week and I am enjoying the nice walks around the neighbourhood with Cam and Goliath.

Ok down .8 this morning to 182.4 hopefully tomorrow will show my 181 again :D. I am claiming Monday as my official weigh in day so I got to change my ticker for the first time in a while :yay:

We are not going to SC the Army will fly Chelle home next week. Her discharge will be failure to adapt but they are recommending that she reenlist in 6 months. I spoke to her recruiter this morning and he says with the way things are going it may take up to two years for her to get back in. I know that if she has to wait that long she won't go. I pray that when she comes home her spirits are lifted and she can jump back into life. She sounds so disappointed today, I just wanted to reach through the phone and hold her. I can wait until next week. I hope there are no delays.

For those of you that remember me working at Wawa ... I started back there today but not over night this time around. :) I didn't take any money so no temptation to pay for :D

Thanks Ona and look at you, NSV Lady ... your former co-worker not recognizing you. :high: Ona it's crazy how we want to do something but after you sit for a minute you can talk yourself out of it. :shrug: you do enough your body may like that break :)

Sheesh, Diana, how early do I have to get here to beat you? :)

Had a bad day yesterday. I was famished all day so had breakfast, a snack, lunch, another snack - and then I was full, but I still had pizza for dinner. Not only that, I had an extra piece. What the...? I just don't understand myself sometimes. I know it's partly because I'm exhausted (80 work hours last week) but it's partly just me being screwed up about food.

I went home and did an hour of cardio to get rid of the bloated feeling, but the scale is up 2 pounds today - gah! I know it's not 2 pounds of fat, but still. No way I'll get under 150 this week. Nice job of self-sabotage there!

Enough whining! Today's a new day and I hope it's a great one for all of us.

Morning! Still holding steady at 192.4 but I didn't get nearly enough water in yesterday. I will do better today. It shouldn't be such an issue to lose 2.4 lbs between now and the end of the month, but good grief I've been in the 90s for so long that you just never know. My goal is to lose that 2.4 pounds, anything more than that will be a bonus!

Down 1lb this morning!!! I have to say seeing that was a pleasant surprise!!! It feels so good to be in the 240's...
It is such a beautiful morning, and from what I saw on the new I think it's going to be 65 and sunny, not to bad for March in Chicago land!

So my Mom who is almost 60 and has a very similar body type to me ( or more like the other way around) has been dealing with a lot of different health issues over the past 10 years, most are the typical for someone who has been overweight for a long time, High BP, High Cholesterol, arthritis in her knees, as well as a very very bad back ( which she has had for about 30 years). I have been talking to her just about every day and mentioning what I have been doing to lose weight. At first she was saying well you know I just can't exercise like I want since my knees and back hurt so much, or I just don't have time to cook like you do etc. But over the past week has really been asking me more and more about food, and what Ive been doing. So last might she said to me I lost 2lbs but it has taken me almost 2 weeks (sounding discouraged) I asked her what she has been doing and she said trying to make better food choices for breakfast and lunch. I said that was great 2 lbs is good but if you want to lose faster you really need to watch dinner as well ( since I know thinks like large plates of pasta, hotdogs mac and cheese, Mcdonalds big macs, and Bacon pita wraps have been normal dinner options for her). I reinforced that the first 28lbs I lost were without one bit of exercise and now that I lost that weight exercise had become something that is easier for me to do. With all that said I think she is starting to get into the right way of thinking about weight loss and really hope she keeps it up, even if she loses only a pound a week it will so benefit her in the long run!!! :)

As for me I am off to the gym in a little bit I want to get 45min - 1hr in and then enjoy the nice weather today!

ok, so down .8 from yesterday and this time I'm happily surprised cuz I ate dinner at like 9 last night and usually late dinners mean a big morning number. Maybe if I'm good today tomorrow will be even better:o:D
The anxiety of this audition is really stressing me out, which could slow weight loss and it's causing a really bad acne breakout. Good thing The Voice isn't focused on the way people look, lol.

I didn't have time to jog this Morning (needed to be at the gym to early) and y'all know how I am bout needing to walk/jog first thing in the morning in order weighing in :D Hopefully one day I'll just step out on Faith and get out of that habit cause I'd really like to.

I was on the track the other day...and a Girl came up next to me,tapped me on the shoulder and asked"How did you get your calves like that" :?: I said," I don't know,I guess From walking/jogging so much."Then i stopped and tried to look in the back and see them.I never paid any attention to stuff like that.She said," you'd look good in stilettos"...please.People notice all kinds of things.

Lately, I have been just walking since I have been having backaches off and on so I have knocked off the jogging for a while. When I jogged the trouble with my feet got worse and my legs ached (I have also been having a backache lately too that is related to getting used to walking). I've had this problem with my feet almost all my life it can get painful (it's on the outside of my feet) but luckily it is lessening since I've decided to just walk. I have now increased the time when I walk to 60 mins, :lol: my son hates this fact because he has to go outside with me for that long. I've also decided that I'm going to walk until I get some more weight off my body then try walking/jogging again.

Thanks Diana Good job on your .2 down :) ... I am texting her now, she is planning to continue her PT when she gets home so that she can prepare to go back. I am so happy to hear her say that. I was just saying this morning that everything happens for a reason, but when she comes home her plans need to include going to school and/or finding a full time job. Diana I will definitely pray for your Mom :hug:

LOL Steph for the almost two years I have been here with Diana someone has always tried, LOL too funny :) Steph you are so hard on yourself. :hug: I agree with Diana it's just sodium and we have 4 more days to go, you never know you may have a nice whoosh between now and then. :hug: Steph love it ---> Losing focus one day is not a reason to panic!

Kukkie you can do it ... and I feel you every time I get close to 180 I go right back up. My goal for the month is just to see the 170's and anything lower would definitely be a bonus :)

Thanks Ona ... yes people do notice all types of things. You often wonder what makes them look at you so hard to study you like that :shrug: Stilettos ... Chelle has a pair I tried them on and did not dare take a step, LOL. Whew they are tall.

Jinxy, I surely took my Aleve also :) On the subject of walking, that's how I lost 30lbs just walking. I love to walk, it's refreshing :) I think when the weather actually breaks I will start again, it worked for me for sure. :)

Morning everyone! Yay for all of the weight loss today!!

I started the 30DS last night, then went to the gym and STILL kicked butt their! I also drank EIGHTEEN cups of water yesterday! AND I stayed OP! I was rewarded with a 2.2 pound loss! :) Weigh in for the day is 296.6! :carrot:

Thank you for all the support. My Mom's surgery went well today. She will get treatments on Monday and Tuesday. I will take her to those appointments. Wednesday is her Neulasta shot. Her friend will take her to that, unless she has a conflicting appointment. There will be 2 weeks off (unless there is some minor blood work). Then it will start all over.

up .4 to 182.0 .... today was a bad eating day all around. I talked to Chelle last night for awhile via text. She had me thinking I could come get her and she would be able to come home. Got the two younger ones packed and we were all set to go them my husband said just ask to make sure. Oh course she just wants us to come down and doesn't know when she will be able to come home so I ended up staying here. Our oldest son broke both pairs of glasses this week so I had to pull him out of school to get new ones, thank goodness he just got them in October so they were still under warranty. My other son comes home from school and my husband is asleep so he can't get in the house because his brother has the key ... just a mess. I had two quarter pound hotdogs and a NY slice of pizza from Costco today ... a huge :nono: So I'll look forward to the 170's next week maybe :D
