I am working hard at getting out of the 190's. Seems like I'm stuck in the 190's and can't get out. Is anyone else having the same problem?

Anyone wanna join in so that we can give each other support and motivation?

We can do this together! :carrot:

How long have you been stuck? What plan are you using?

Only stuck for 2 weeks. I guess it's a slow process. I'm just watching my calories. (1200 calories). My weakness is snacks. Too many snacks.

LA Are you still stuck? You're coming up on a month stuck. At around six weeks you'll be officially plateauing and you'll need to break out of it. If you are counting calories and are at 1200, you probably don't need to go lower. Have you tried calorie cycling? Eating at maintenance 1 day, then 3 days at 1200, then back to maintenance 1 day. Are you doing any exercise? If so, what?

Dee How many weeks have you been stuck?

There are several methods for breaking out of plateau's, but keep in mind you're not really at a plateau until you've been there around 6 weeks. Weight loss can be slow depending on your health and your caloric deficit. It also depends on your exercise. You can try to up the intensity on your exercise to break a plateau, you can also up your calories a little at a time, you can also try the calorie cycling method as well as carb cycling. Carb cycling is eating your carbs earlier in the day and very little later in the day. If you try these you'll have to give it a couple of weeks to work.

Andrew-
I've been at the same weight (fluctuating between 192-194) since October. Over the darker winter months I lost all my motivation to exercise and was sporadic about it, some weeks working out 4-5 days a week, other weeks not working out at all. My diet has been so-so. Now that we have more light, I'm back to working out hard 6 days a week with moderate activity on the 7th (I'm doing Beachbody's Insanity program), I've cut alcohol and coffee. I'm getting ready to make a carb adjustment, as well, because the last block of weight I lost (15 lbs that time) I had cut my carbs by about 60% of normal. If I still don't see scale movement then, I will be worried.

Yes, Andrew I'm still stuck but it's my own fault. I have not been following my plan for the last 2 weeks. I have been sooooo off track and I have to get back in to it. I have to start moving. I get so involved in my things to do after work and by the time I look up, it's time to prepare for bed. I have got to get my priorities back in gear.

LA I had the same problem as well for a while. Now when I get home I go immediately, or very nearly, to my workout. After that my normal nightly things can take up as much of my night as needed and I have gotten my workout in. This has helped tremendously. 90% of your success will be what you eat though. So stick with your eating plan. If it's not working you might need to make some adjustments.

Dee I've done P90X and am hoping to do it again as soon as I can find the DVD's. We moved over the summer and I still haven't tracked them down. If you are doing something that intense, like insanity, you have to eat to compensate for it. In your case you might not be getting enough calories. Not sure what your plan is, but you might need to experiment a bit. Tony Horton claims 600 calories per day needed sustain P90X.

Going to resurrect this thread now that I finally qualify for it! Slid in here from Onederland last week and after 8 days at 199, the scale finally moved down to 197.8.

It's also TOM, so hoping when it leaves in a few days it takes a few lbs with it...

I've been doing Medifast since 2/24 and once I made it through the first two weeks of horrible cravings, I've really enjoyed it and haven't had much trouble at all sticking to it. Some of the foods are pretty good, and I can see myself enjoying them even after I reach goal as healthy snacks.
