Default When to move from P1 to P2

Hi, I told my coach I decided I wanted my final weight to be 155. She said it's more of a size I should be working towards and not a # so I said a size 10 (and I think 155 will take me to a size 10 based on my history.)

I thought we are suppose to lose 90% of our weight in P1. If she wants me to go by a size than how will she determine when it is time to move off of P1??? TY!

I think all the official stuff says p2 after losing 90% of your goal...

I would ask her. Even if you're going by size you need some vague weight number idea, maybe she'll go by that. I've also heard of some coaches doing P1 until 100%. Or maybe she'll put you on P2 when you reach size 12.

Unless you know what you will look like and feel like at your goal weight, your "goal" whether it's in terms of size or lbs is going to be pretty arbitrary until you get closer to it. I set my goal in terms of weight and when I got there decided I wanted to lose a smidge more. When I was a size 16, I didn't know what 140 lbs would look and feel like. I think you have to get close to your goal, see how you feel, then reevaluate. You can always change your goal. And it doesn't matter whether you set it in terms of weight or size...it's YOUR goal. You will likely lose a little more on P2 and P3, that's where the 90% concept comes in.

My advice would be to do phase 1 until you are where you feel comfortable maintaining. That may be at 155lbs... or not. You will likely lose a couple of pounds in phase 2. Phase 3 and 4... you may lose, you may gain. We've all had different experiences there. It depends on how your body responds when adding those morning carbs back in. Please read a little of the maintenance thread. You will see that we all try to keep within a certain range of weight. Most of us have a ceiling weight. If we get that high on the scale, we do whatever it takes to get back down within our acceptable range. My original goal was 160. I do not let myself get over 162. I try to stay around 158. I'm 5'5 and weigh between 156 (lowest number I've seen)-160 and wear a size 8 pants, sometimes a size 6 after a couple of phase 1 days. Everyone's body is different, but that may give you an idea.
