Day One...Back to what works for me!
Hey all!!!
Years ago I lost about 60 pounds on Atkins, but for some (dumb) reason totally got off of it and gained the weight back plus an additional 30 or so pounds. Since then I have tried numerous diets and none of them have even come close to the results I had with Atkins. Sooooo, this is day one! For breakfast I had 2 boiled eggs and 2 sausage patties. For lunch I brought salad with romaine, lettuce and tomatoes with Kraft ranch dressing. For dinner I will have pan seared pork chops in olive oil and one cup of steamed broccoli. I tried Atkins briefly last year but did not have the results I was hoping for. I noticed that dairy seemed to stall my weight loss, so I will only be eating cheese sparingly. I also am (going to try hard) to just drink water...no Diet Pepsi for me! Hopefully if I eliminate dairy my weight loss will be similar to the first time I tried Atkins.
Wish me luck!!!

Sorry for your loss, 3forus. I don't even know why I fell off...I guess I used the excuse "I'll start back on Monday" and that just carried over to years and years that passed on by. I know that I have started and I know I will eat this way moving forward, because it sheds pounds and I feel better and less tired eating this way. Good luck to you too, and I'm always up for more motivation!

fatklr, I feel the same about Atkins, no other diet comes close! The weight comes off easily and it's just so reliable. I used it to get close to goal last time, now I'm using it to lose the baby weight and get to goal.
Welcome back We're starting a new challenge in a day or two, you could join in with us!

That's a good thing to shoot for! I want to be at goal for summertime. I finally live in a place where it doesn't rain constantly and I want to enjoy the sun and feel good about how much of me is showing!

Hi globetrotter74 and good luck!
Today marks one week since starting Atkins, and I'm down 8 pounds! My roommate is down 11 pounds and she's much smaller than me, so I'm thinking aunt flo has something to do with the amount of my smaller weight loss number. I have been averaging between 15 and 19 carbs a day, and 900 to 1,800 calories (I track everything that goes in my mouth). So far so good....looking forward to week #2!!!

That's awesome fatklr! I'm down over 8 lbs but it's been two weeks. There was some chocolate and wine that derailed me haha.

Good luck to you! I am back myself! I remember that when I was in induction the last time I didnt give up pop and coffee (diet) and I did fine until I didnt anymore lol. After losing about 40 lbs pretty quickly I had a big stall and went two weeks barley losing a lb. Now I am back and weeding out diet pop and other diet bevs and just sticking to water and limiting my self to no more than 2 cups of coffee or less if I can handle it but really I want to not kill my self with so many withdraw symptoms so just going to do what has worked for me before. Good luck to you!

Cutting down on the diet coke and coffee is hard for me as well. I only let myself have one cup of coffee in the morning (with one sweetner and a small scoop of coffee whitener which is 1 carb) and as a treat once in awhile I let myself have a diet coke.

I'm not a diet soda fan at all so that doesn't get to me, however I do drank a lot of tea and of course it's without sugar. My weakness is frizzy water LOL I know right even though it has no carbs it does hace a lot of sodium which can retain water.
Everyone is doing great and it's good to come to a place and get enouragement..

I can not give up coffee when I do Atkins and if I do induction properly it never stalls me. I am hooked on club soda with lemon.

Okay, so I said I was just going to drink water but I have been drinking Diet Pepsi. If it stalls my weight loss, or if I weigh myself and the number just doesn't look right...I will cut it out. I'm soooooo tempted to weigh myself again since Aunt Flo is gone, but I told myself I will weigh only on Mondays....sooooo......
