I'm in! I made it in January... I went from 329.2 to 314.2. 15 lbs! I hope to lose at least 10 in February. It's not going to be easy, but I am gonna do my best.

Yes. :) And I like to tell folks that though it is recommended you could/should lose 1-2 pounds per week, I like to say you could/should lose 4-8 pounds per month. It's the same thing, but more realistic. I do lose 4-8 pounds per month, but I have a tendency to lose nothing for three weeks and then I lose big the fourth week. All this time I thought I was broken.

So ten pounds....boy.

Yesterday I did a grueling workout at the gym, but only for 30 minutes. I have got to get my butt out of bed with the alarm. I've been struggling to do that. I worked on legs and cardio, running up and down the stairs with 20 pounds of weight, wall sits, calf raises and squats. My calfs are sore this morning. Then I walked an additional 3 miles later in the day.

Today I went to spin class, but again did not get up with the alarm. The weight stayed the same. I'm in a holding pattern. :rolleyes: I know with the sore calfs not to expect anything.

But I'm in this for 10 pounds, right? So what haven't I done? Well, I haven't journaled my diet, so that's what I added today, and oh boy...I'm going to leave work having eating 1000 calories already which leaves me with only 200 for the evening. Maybe I'm not sticking within the 1200 quite like I thought I was. Those nibbles add up, and that's what's doing it to me. Today's nibbles: carrots, two brazil nuts, about 8 mini marshmallows, mini box of raisins.

Rest of today, 200-400 calories for the evening, walk aiming for 5 miles.

So tomorrow: 1200 calories, no extra nibbles, journal my calories, walk extra aiming for 5 miles.

If I don't make 10 pounds it won't be from lack of trying!!! :D

This is what I do, too. If I get my 10lbs lost, SUPER AWESOME JOY! If not, it wasn't because I didn't try my darndest! :)

I think sometimes that get's lost when people don't make their "goal" in a certain time frame.

Gotta keep going.

I agree, Kate. I aim for 10 lbs a month. Sometimes I'm over, sometimes I'm under. What matters is giving it your all. I'm rededicating myself today. There have been too many distractions and off plan days as of late and they do nothing but make me feel ill and pissed off.

Aww yeah, we're doing awesome! Gym today, ate great, don't feel hungry. Tried 10 mins of rowing today at the gym in addition to 40 mins on the bike - hope I don't feel too sore from the rowing tomorrow!

I've got a gym date with my friend for both tomorrow and Friday!

Good morning! I'm up a pound today to 212. It'll come back off soon enough, and hopefully take a couple of its friends with it. Patience is my challenge this time around. I regained so fast (I was down to 150 two years ago) that it seems like it should come off really fast too. ALAS.

Under my calories all week, working out all week (save last night, my knee injury from a car accident at 16 is acting up, the jerk...(some elderly woman rear ended me and my knee was jammed into the dash board, it hurts randomly about twice a year.) and totally on plan.

SW: 200.8
CW: 200.4 (I SAW IT FLICKER TO 199!! No, really, I jumped up and down, lol.)
GW: anything in the low 190's, but really 190.8, lol.

OMG. I literally had like a moment where my mind was SHOCKED to see that flicker. I'm not ecpecting to hit 199 till tomorrow or Saturday, and with my knee acting up and not working out last night, I wasn't expecting that at all. 'Twas pretty sweet, lol.

SOON LADIES!!! SOOOOOOON! :carrot:

Today's weigh in? Everyone ready? 200.0. No, no read that right. LOL. I tried to pee some more, and I tried changing the batteries, and still 200.0. It was flickering its hardest and then bam, right back to 200. I about died, lol... OH WELL. Keep going. Gotta keep going.

And of course, the super bowl is this weekend, and its my uncles birthday... I've searched out lower cal versions of my favorite super bowl things, and I'll be making those and taking them over to the party.

Yesterday I was looking at some pics with my son (7) and he said wow Mom, you weren't fat then! And these were pictures from when he was a baby!!! I hate when any of my kids make comments like that. :( You would think that would be enough inspiration but...I'm a stress eater and a stress drinker too, beer is probably my biggest challenge. I was thinking of naming my pounds. Ultimately I'd like to lose 40 pounds, but 30 is probably more realistic. So pounds 30-21, you guys are in trouble this month! #30:Your name is Ace, and you and your little friend #29, Blaze, are out of here by next week!!!

I did two hours of zumba last night ... I thought I would pass out, but it was just so much fun! My calorie burn calc said I burned 1550 calories!! Yowza!

I ran a 10K yesterday! My knee hurt a bit and my time was really slow but I did it! I can't even remember the last time I ran that far. I went for a 2 miler this morning and the knee seemed normal.
No loss to report though. Well sort of, I was all the way up to 179 at one point yesterday but back down to 175 this morning, which will be my true starting weight. So #30 (Ace) is also #175. I'm a bit worried about the week-end with The Super Bowl Party. I can probably control myself with most of the munchie stuff, but I'm most likely to pig out on ribs and chicken wings. And I am going to do my best to limit myself to 2 beers. Hmm.

Alitory, don't worry about 2 ounces!! weight fluxuates SO MUCH over the course of just one day. Worry about pounds, not ounces!!

Checking in- I actually gained a pound. BUT- I'm a daily weigher and I think this is a fluctuation because the jeans that were a bit tight last week- are much looser today. I've changed up my exercise routine a little this week too so I am not letting this 1 lb gain get me down, cos I know I'm still going in the right direction.

Anybody else have this happen- every time after I go under a milestone, I will have a slight gain immediately after. It's always in the 10's= 190, 180, 170. I know it's not a big deal because I count the loss the first time it's one somethingty nine- but it makes me mad because I always want to say "I will never be 170 again". This one really annoyed me because 170 puts me in "obese" and 169 puts me in just "overweight."

Ah well. It will come off, and hopefully drag another 1 or 2 of it's nasty little friends with it!:)

Thats definitely a variety of things, you gain/lose a few pounds depending on the time of day, caffeine can even make 4-5lbs of a difference and of course, water weight.
In my opinion, I think looking at the scale daily can sometimes be motivating but most times discouraging. I think looking weekly is a more accurate response as well.

you gotta give it to kids - atleast they're honest! i hate when people slip and don't realize that they are saying something hurtful. i remember back in high school when i was really having a problem with acne, i would pass my mom and she would say something along the lines of "wow, your face looks really bad". it's like, oh..thanks, i had no idea. :[

stress eating/drinking is never good! i'm trying to break myself of it too, but it's hard. i try to focus on how i usually feel afterwards (defeated and guilty). which is usually worse than the reason i wanted to eat/drink something.

I so want this to happen. But I have to go overseas for travel in late feb and I'm worried that I won't be able to eat well while travelling. I'll be happy if I don't gain any weight while I'm there. But I'm not sure if I'll make 10 pounds go away.

TICKER UPDATED!

And yes, I'm at 202.2 today, lol, due to sodium and water weight. And sitting in a car for 5 hours on Saturday to go to Ikea, lol... The water will come back off, and I'm still celebrating being under 200. That's pretty awesome.

I also had a nice convo with DH about his health, and as we were talking about me finally getting to my 80 lost, I actually told him my starting weight. He was surprised, but really proud of me, so that's nice. I've never told my weight to anyone but you guys here! LOL. And last night, thank God, he finally had his moment. You know the one where you were all 'I'm finally going to do this.'..... at least it looked like he did, lol. He was all 'I want to lose 80 lbs...' and I had to convice him that he would be a stick at 210, as he's fairly tall. I told him we could lift weights and he could bulk up, lol.

I haven't lost anything this week, but I'm trying not to let it get me down. Still plenty of time left this month for things to get moving, right? I probably won't make 10 pounds lost, but I'll take whatever I can get at this point. I am sticking to my plan like glue and working out religiously, so my body can only be stubborn for so long.

I lost 1 of the 2 lbs I was holding on to from water weight! I think my goal this month is to be solidly in the 190's... That will be pretty sweet.

I decided that getting past that 202 was JUST as hard as it was getting past my last 'sticking weight' of 220... where I did EVERYTHING I knew how to do and my body was just like, no, nu-huh, i like it here... so... I'm glad to be past that.

Now if only I can make 170 a "sticking weight"!!! :lol:

I'm at a sticking weight too. I cannot get lower than 191.5 for the life of me. I want to see 189!! That's my lowest adult weight. It's so frustrating to know I'm doing everything right and cannot for the life of me drop below that number :(

Thats all we can do, though. Everything we can is AS MUCH as we can do, so don't sweat it. If we keep going on plan and doing AS MUCH as we can, it'll happen. We just have to have patience.

I think that's the hardest part I've had to deal with. It's harder than giving up things that are bad for me, and all that. I've had to learn patience to lose the weight at the speed my BODY wants, not what my mind wants.

So, we will keep going, and as long as we are going as much as we can to get to goal, we will get there!!! :)

Hello, my weight has stayed the same these last few days, but I have not been watching what i eat. I ran 4 miles on Monday, that felt pretty good, but I took today off because I ran 5 days in a row. I've noticed that when I take a longer run I am really hungry, so I need to take special care in what I eat when I am feeling that way. Today I am experiencing my pre-menstaul munchie day, a few days pre I will feel like eating everything in sight. I don't have much self control in that situation either. :p I don't have high expectations for this week, but next week DH will be out of town and I am planning on South Beach Phase 1 while he's gone. One pound this week would be nice though.

Wow, everyone is doing so great! It's fair to say I'm a little envious of some of you big losers, but I am doing everything I can!

The beginning of the month was That TOM, so I'm a pound over my starting weight after the first week! :mad: I've been working out religiously, and staying under my net 1200 cals every day. I've been so good, next week I'm gonna lose 4 pounds! Right!? Ha.

Keep going, thistoo! That's a great attitude to have. That as long as we keep going, we will get there. Personally, I don't think its worth the stress to worry so much about it. I try for certain time frames, but I don't beat myself up about it, you know? The stress will only cause me to retain water! LOL, and we can't have that. It happens enough as it IS!

I had a hard day yesterday ... Just plugged along though, but had an intense urge to binge, but I didn't.
I had an argument with my hubby :( ugh. Men!!

And I was thinking that same thing yesterday. I couldn't, for the life of me, get past 220. It was like this magical barrier, a wall that took almost everything I had to go over it, and then it was fine until I hit another wall at 202-200. I'm slowly going past it, but I SO want to put it farther behind me I'm trying everything I can to do so, lol... But I'll totally still have sushi for lunch tomorrow, LOL. Sheesh. Come on, 195. I'll feel better then. And here I'm thinking 'oh no, I'm on my last month of bc pills (as I take seasonique) so I know that I'll have TOM at the end of this month' and then like, I'll be so sad when my water weight will creep that number back up again. GRR. SO I'm trying to have a larger buffer so I can minimize ever seeing that 2 again.

Sigh. If people only knew how hard this is. :lol:

I do DVD's, Apple. I like that any spare 20 mins or so I have, LOL, I can pop one in and do a little workout and I've burned calories off and I have more energy than I did before! My current rotation includes: Walk Away The Pounds, Tony Horton's 10 min Trainer and some Biggest Loser Boot Camp thing.

AND, as for me.. I'm at 199.2 today. So, the water weight is gone and I'm back on my way DOWN! I got on the scale and it was flickering to 198.8 but then popped to 199.2, so I'M CLOSE. :crossed: I gotta get lower by the 24th, because after that itll be TOM wether I like it or not. I can't complain, though, having a TOM 4 times a year is better than the 12 I was having before, :lol:....

Having that major milestone so close to completion must be very inspiring! I don' think I feel that way about 169, but I think I'll get pretty excited about 159!
I have only successfully used one exercise video, a step aerobics one. And I don't feel like it!! It's so easy with you tube and netflix these days to find exactly what you want, for very little money. I'm just not inspired right now. I like running to get away from the house, breathe some fresh air.
I am feeling sad today because my dog killed one of my chickens last night.:( The coop was left open, AND the gate that keeps the dogs confined. (KIDS!!!) The other chickens are possibly hurt, definitely stressed. I couldn't sleep last night. Totally sucks. Sad.

I'm down another half pound, so that's 1.5 so far for February. It's not looking great for my ten pound goal! That's okay, though. I'm losing, and in the end that's the important thing. At least I saw 209 on the scale today, even though it was 209.8, so I'm still calling it 210. I'm REALLY looking forward to getting back into onederland, and when that happens I am never, ever leaving again.

My running is going pretty good, I have been increasing my distance. Back when I started running (pre marriage, pre kids) my regular run was 4 miles. I'd like to work my way back up to that. I'm thinking about swimming again. The weather has been so calm this winter, I could have kept going all season:devil:. Of course as soon as I buy a pass, the weather will turn ugly...

Which, you know, I'm not actually complaining about because its not 200, and I'm really (REALLY!) enjoying saying things to myself like 'i weigh less than 200 pounds!' or 'I'm under 200, ha!'... so I'll take it. It's Tuesday, and so tomorrow I should see my sodium-weekend-water-weight drop, and I'm hoping for a woosh. I swear, my body doesn't do wooshes anymore! LOL.

And I'm thinking of starting 30 day shred tonight... Anyone want to do it with me? I did it at the very start of my weight loss and I saw good results.. but I think with me being like, 75lbs less now, lol, I'll see more, you know? I have arms now! HAHA. So I want those arms more toned, lol.. So as long as I can find it I plan to start it. :D :crossed:

I'm already at 70 or less grams of carb a day. I am just wicked carb sensitive, unfortunately, so the bananas have to go. I'll freeze them for eventual use in protein shakes.

30 Day Shred is in my workout rotation. It's a great pre-work workout because it's so short, but it packs a great punch in 20 minutes. Lately I've been doing Sean T's new Rockin' Body workouts. They're not anywhere near as killer as Insanity, but they work up more of a sweat than other dance cardio I've tried.

207.8 today. Let's call it 208 and say I've lost 3 pounds so far this month. Not awesome, but there's still half the month left, and if I can lose six pounds by March I won't be too terribly disappointed.

Hahahahahaha I gave up trying to make up for it years ago. Even with heels I'm shorter than everyone in the room.

LOL. I've actually grown about a 1/4 inch in my weightloss. I think I was being like, held down or something. My doc's nurse was all 'wait... didn't you used to be....?' and measured me again. And then had the other nurse do it, lol... I've grown! So I'm just over 5'7" now. And I'm italian, and my teeny tiny great grandmother was 4'1", LOL. I'm so lucky!

And Any heel over like, 2 inches literally kills me. I'm a flip flops gal. I have them on now. In Feb.. in ohio.. and its 30 out.... :lol:

I need to add more work outs into my life, lol. I'm so lazy. And I'm about 75% less lazy then I used to be, lol... I ordered a new copy last night on amazon and picked overnight shipping, so it will be at my house when I get home, most likely, so I'm starting it tonight. :crossed: that it works like it did before! It helped me lose like 15/18 lbs before my wedding in 2008, so... I'm gonna pray its my 'kick in the pants'...

I did the 'shred last night. And, I'm proud to say, that I'm not nearly as sore as I was when I did it either time before!! YEY! :lol: The first time I ever did it, I totally went all out (this was like, 2 months before my wedding, I weighed like 245..) and I literally could not climb stairs the next day. I had to scoot up them. LOL. And today? Bounded up them as normal. So that means, in the journey I've been on, my legs are more muscley!! :D So exciting. :)

Totally hoping this helps me get out of obese. I'm SO freaking close. I might have to mute Jillian tonight, and put on some tunes, though. Seriously can't stand her.

Anywho, being on Seasonique means my TOM is.. weird.. but as soon as my 'yellow' pills are gone, it will be too, so soon enough I'll drop back down. I knew it was coming as I was having lower back pain and the scale hadn't dropped, even though I was WELL below my calories and totally OP. So I'm :crossed: for a woosh after aunt flo is outta town, lol.

And Chrissy, you might want to change things up. (up your cals, lower them, do a new workout, start lifting.. something.) That's what I do when I get stuck. Although, I don't call it a pleatau until I've been at the same weight for a month or more. :D

Get this: TOM started yesterday, right? Well this morning, I was down half a pound. Crazy talk! I weighed myself twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. I completely credit going paleo/primal/Whole 30/whatever you want to call it for the lack of water retention. It's fantastic not to feel like I'm stuffed into my clothes, too.

That puts me at 5.5 pounds lost so far this month, and I'm hoping to hit 7 or 8 by the end of the month. I'm not pinning my hopes on the full 10, but time will tell.

I was down a pound today too, Too!! Weird bodies. I've been known to gain 12lbs overnight from my TOM, so that 198.4 on the scale this morning caused me to do a little dance, haha.

This morning I found the water I haven't been retaining! I ate a bunch of fruit last night (citrus and strawberry season is upon us and I cannot resist) which might have contributed. My weight will go back down over the next few days, though, so it's all good. And the fruit was totally worth it.

TOM isn't quite over, but the water weight is subsiding. I'm down to 204 this morning for a total of seven pounds lost so far this month.

Aiming for 10 next month, though. With TOM over I won't have another for 3.5 months, so I'm golden! Lets DO THIS! :D

I think for March, I'll be happy with no longer being obese, so I'll aim for either 10 lbs, and/or 189. :) I'd be seriously happy to be 189 by St. Patty's Day, and then keep going nicely till 3/31.

That's as of last week. I don't know if the 2.8 pounds will be gone Thursday as I am losing 2-2.5 pounds per week but hopefully I'll be down to my goal when I weigh in Saturday the 3rd.

I managed the 10lbs in January, but not so confident about 10lbs in Feb!!

I'll give it my all though!

SW 30th Jan: 191.75
6th Feb: Holiday
13th Feb: 187.75
20th Feb: 185
27th Feb: 186
GW 1st March: 181.75

Won't be hitting the 10lb goal for February, but even with a leap year it's tough!!

So, who's starting the thread for 10lb before April 1st? :D

It IS tough with a short month, I didn't realize this until it hit me last night, lol... Oh well. Those pounds we lost still matter! :)

Thank GOD we have 2 more days, LOL. I didn't realize losing those 2 days really mattered, but I would be at a lower weight by Friday, I know I will, I'll be less sore. :lol: Oh well. :D

I'm down 9 pounds as of right now. Unless I lose a pound by tomorrow morning, I'm out! But, 9 pounds is awesome! Especially considering it took me a month to start losing anything!

I didn't lose I gained a little. I got a cold, started with a sore throat on the 4th and seemed to get better than came back with a bad cough that went into my chest. Turns out I had strep and my whole family got it. Just got done with antibotics (which don't like me and now I am battling diarrhea) Still have my cough but its getting better every day. I will try be starting over as soon as my bum is feeling better.
