Hi everyone,

Now there are so many posts to respond to, and I don't remember who wrote what! That "sometimers" disease strikes quickly....:lol

Dianne,
glad you're back with us, just knowing that everyone is ok, and what they're doing, is very important to me. I've become very fond of everyone here. Little Jessalyn sounds so cute! My Matthew is a whirling dervish.....he calls me "Gam", and calls his grandpa "Joe", which cracks eveyone up.
Hope you're feeling okay.

Es,
BUSTED!!! that points lady is too funny; tell her to give it up! Tell David "Happy Birthday" for me if I forget between now and this weekend, ok?

Terri,
I know what you mean about watching the videos of the kids. I cry over everything!

The Shield will be starting soon. I'm going to run. Tomorrow I'll re-read everyone's posts on the old thread and catch up with all of you!

Hi All!

Dianne,
Oh, I hope you get better soon. I hate when it hits the whole house. Thanks for asking about Bruce. He is doing better but still sore.

Donna,
I took a pregnancy test when Brittany was like 7 months old. I really thought I was pregnant. The weird thing was that I did not want to be pregnant since Britts was only 7 mon. old and when the test was negative I felt so sad. :( Like the baby died when there wasn't even a baby in the first place. The mind is so powerful. Good luck. If it is the start of men. maybe you will be lucky like Dianne.

Ruth,
What a great choice in names. She sounds like such a cutie.
The sleet hit yesterday morning. They had to close roads. Now it is just a little cold and rainy.
WOW. That is a lot of classes. Good luck to you. I know you can do it.

Es,
Bruce's neck is better but still stiff. He gets so stressed so easily.
He is going to Colorado Springs on April 1st for 6 weeks on extended TDY. He will come home every 2 weeks. Then in June we will go to Ohio for a week and celebrate my mom and dad's 50th (I hope he makes it) anniversary. Then we will go to Colorado Springs for 6 weeks again. I loved it last year.
Too funny abount the Points lady. See we are all normal. That happens to all of us. I wish it was possible to be perfect.
My grandmother was 105-108 pounds all of her life. She was the prime example of someone who ate to live. I live to eat.
She actually didn't like food. Can you imagine?
Hope you feel better.

Jen,
I heard the Shield was good. I like that Mike Chiklas (spell?).
I never heard of dervish. He sounds so cute. Enjoy these years it is going to go so fast. Of course Brittany thinks she will never give me grandchildren. She always says I am never having a kid (Cause of the pain and 'in her words' grossness "). I always tell her "I am writing that in my book." I have an imaginary book that I tell her I am writing all the things down that she says she won't want to do but I KNOW she will.

I did the Leslie Sansone 3 mile on Monday and will do it agin today. Britts and are doing it. It is nice. You don't have to be to cooordinated. :strong:
Well, I am going to catch up on some e-mail.
TTYL,
Terri

Good Wednesday Morning y'all ~

Do any of you realize that me, Zoe, am here typing this during the weekday workday? Well, I'm home. We have had a severe winter storm here ~ some snow but lots of ice and not a single car is out on the road. Of couse, me, from the northeast, can venture out and not think anything of it. The people here in Texas just don't know how to act in this weather. Our offices have a delayed opening until 10am and I will try to leave soon but I can bet that most won't show today.

I'm sorry that I've been scarce and have not responded to the posts here. I have been still trying to get myself back into the swing of things since vacation. Also with my eating. Yes, I'm having a hard time keeping within my points after all that eating I did on my cruise. Hopefully, I won't have another gain come Saturday and maybe lose that pound I took on.

Well, I'm going to get ready to try and leave here soon. Just wanted to say hello to all my friends. Have a wonderful Wednesday and I'll talk to you's guys later.

Morning buddies:

Still home, coughing and sneezing and looking like a worn out dish rag:lol: (but willie loves me anyway!) Thought I would be able to go back today, but this respiratory infection is kicking my butt and I know if I attempted to go in, I'd wind up leaving early and being out tomorrow. So, the heck with it, even though I feel guilty thinking about my co-workers, but hey this is the situation that management created. It will get worse this summer when there will be only 3 workers in the office and someone goes on vacation every two weeks. If during that time, someone else should get sick, that will leave one person in the office with 4 chiefs, including the President! Let's see what happens then.
Anyway, we are going to hold a meeting of all the assistants and all the chiefs to let them know that the situation they are creating will not work well and see if we can convince them to keep one more person.

Ruth - congrats on that granddaughter and what a beautiful name - I know Terri agrees:smug: Maybe in a few years you will catch up to me, but somehow I doubt it:s: I can't believe no one's had a baby in the past year so far. We're still at 14, but remember I still have Justin and Alana to go, they're still in college so hopefully that won't be for a few years!

Es - I heard we might get snow again too, but they're being kind of wishy washy saying if it goes a certain way, we may not get any, but if it goes the other way, we could get 6 inches. I'm really tired of this snow already, I mean we have not had a winter like this in NY in quite some time. I guess we got spoiled. Karinna sounds adorable.

Jen - You must get tons of snow - or is it just REALLY cold weather? So cute that matthew calls you gam and Joe, Joe, lol. They are so adorable when they start talking.

Terri - Glad to hear Bruce's neck is a little better. He must be stressed with what happened in recent events. Sounds great going back to Colorado Springs, the kids will probably be excited.
Britts is a typical teenage girl about being grossed out about babies, She will change her mind! It reminds me of Justin when he was younger, someone mentioned where babies come from and he had a fit. He was yelling, that's disgusting!! He just couldn't believe it, lol.

Hey ZoeGirl - don't worry too much about the food. You'll get back in the swing of things soon. It is hard after having all that food at your beck and call - now you want it to stop calling you already  You'll be fine.

Donna - take the test if you're really concerned. It will settle your mind one way or the other.

Hey Janie and Sandy - how are you guys?

We'll let me go be lazy for another day. Talk to you's soon.

Hugs,
Dianne

Ruth,
Congrats on your newest grandbaby! Wow, 5 and another on the way, how cool. I'd love to be surrounded by grandchildren  Jess and Mike aren't having any more, and Joey isn't even dating anyone seriously, so it'll be a while before we have a baby in the family again. Matt has grown so quickly, I can't believe he'll be 3 in June.
You're doing so well in school, full-time! I'm proud of you. I didn't take a class this semester and am finding I miss it, more than I thought I would. I'll probably take a fall class.

Dianne,
I hope you're in bed, babying yourself and on the road to recovery. I wouldn't be surprised if the stress at work is contributing (negatively) to your health. Feel better soon! :flow1:

Terri,
When we sit down to watch The Shield, I'm actually nervous! they can be so bad, I worry what will happen. It's a great show, and Michael Chiklis (SP?) is HOT!

Zoe,
the newsclips yesterday showed the Texas roads in awful shape. Be careful when you're out there!

I've got to run....HI to Es, Sandy, Janie, Donna

Dianne,
Yes you're right Alexander LeGrand is "ALexander the Great". The LeGrand middle name is a family tradition for the first born boy. I think it goes back 9 generations. Unfortunately we don't have any  traditions for the girls.

Terri,
I'm so glad that you'll be going back to CO this summer. You had such a great time last year. We are still trying to figure out where we'll be going for spring break. Originally Steve had suggested Hawaii, but then we ended up having several unexpected expenses come up. The cat got sick $700 and our fence blew down $4000. That just about covered our Hawaii trip. Now we're going to take the camper somewhere for a low budget vacation. :(

Ruth,
Glad to hear you're keeping up with your classes. You must have enough units to be close to graduating soon.
WHat then?

Donna,
I have been having night sweats regularly for a few years now. I hate them. I am taking soy adn It keeps me from getting the hot flashes during the day time too, but I still get them at night. My period still arrives fairly steadily but one month it will last 6-8 days with heavy flow throughout (like right now) and the next month it will be 2-3 days with only 1 day of heavy flow. My :twirly: mind can only figure that some months I am ovulating and some I am not.

I have to get to work so I can't address everyon but hope everyone is having a great Wed.
Hugs,

Hi:wave:

I can not believe I was able to get in here from my computer at work. I always have such a hard time. They probably did something so we won't go on the internet:lol: I'm on my lunch hour so just poppin in to see what's up with everybody.

Zoe, I heard on the news this morning about all the ice out there. I would be a nervous wreck if I had to drive. Be careful!

Dianne, the best thing you can do for yourself is rest. I always feel quilty when I have to take off. I have the time but there's only 2 secretaries for 50 people. We useto have 6. They've downsized so that leaves me & another lady who complains about how much work they're giving her all day long!!! Cuidate Amiga;)

Jen, I love our new name:lol:

Gotta go Girls.

Be back later.

Es,
I didn't realize I had changed the name of our thread  we can go back on the next one. Things are rough for so many now at work; people are just happy to keep their jobs. I don't foresee many options if and when I do look for a job. :(

Janie,
Sorry about your spring break not being Hawaii....getting away with Steve and Ellen in your camper will be a good time, tho. It's always something, isn't it? That's very  about the naming tradition in your family for the boys.

In spite of the findings about HRT I've been continuing to take it, but on a very modified basis. Instead of once a day, I've been getting by with only 2 doses one week, alternating with 3 doses the other week. While I am concerned about the possibility of side effects suck as heart problems, etc., I've also found that going without any HRT at all is not working. Hot flashes aside, if it were on occasion, I could live with it, but I refuse to use lubricants the rest of my life! :o

You all have been so kind in listening to my griping and complaining about this situation I'm in. I agree Terri, if I'm concerned I ought to just bite the bullet and buy the stupid test and see if I'm pregnant. But I really feel that it's the the Pre-M issue. My doctor told me that because of my mother having breast cancer I can not take HRT's. So, I will need to find out what I can do. It's a risk no matter what you do I feel. But God knows the number of our days and when it's my time to go it's my time. It's funny I get daily newsletters on MSN med and they sent out a thing about Pre-menopause just last night. It was saying that many times it's hard for the doctors to diagnose that that is in fact what many women are going through when the blood tests will not reveal that the ovaries are slowing down. We run into a risk of heart disease (runs in my family) weight gain (I'm there) and cancer (yes, in my family too).

Zoe. I'm thinking of you with all that ice. Hope you are staying warm and safe.

Dianne, hope you feel better.

To everyone, again thanks for putting up with me and have a great afternoon!

Hi:wave:

I vote for the new name:D

Janie, what happened to your cat that it costs $700?:yikes: I feel so bad for you guys. :( Hawaii would have been great. Everything happens for a reason.

Terri, you have something to look forward to. I bet Britt is excited to go back.

Dianne, feeling any better? I'm listening to the news. They said 1-3 inches of snow. Not bad. As much as I love winter I'm kind of sick of the snow.

Let me go eat. It's my off day for working out.

Later,

Terri,
That's great that you will be going to CO Springs again. I know how much you all liked it last year. What is TDY that Bruce is going for? I'd hate for Joe to be gone that long. 50 years for your folks is awesome....may we all live to celebrate that many years with our guys!
Survivor night! The women are whining and they still don't have a shelter, that's disappointing.

Dianne,
Hope you're feeling better! :balloons:

Dianne,
I hope you're feeling better, But at least if you're going to be sick it might as well be bad weather at the same time. Hope everyone back east stays out of the snow.

Jen,
You can't be giving up. It was you're tremendous attitude and success (and Zoe's) that got me back to working the program seriously. BTW WI was this morning and I lost 1 lb. I was very surprised cause this is my TOM. Please Don't let me down grlfriend!!!

Terri,
What was your favorite thing about CO Springs? What was Brit's? Just keep those in mind and the time will fly by. Weren't you saying you were possibly going to move there?

Essie,
I was exagerating a bit about Nicky's Vet fees. It wasn't quite $700 but it was over $600. He had blood in his urine (of course on the weekend) so we had to take him to the Kitty emergency room. That is $100 just to walk in the door plus tests and meds. Then Monday morning he was rechecked at our regular vet. 3 days later it turned out that the meds had Blocked up is intestinal tract, so we had to take him back to the vet for an enema and different meds. Poor pussy didn't know what was happening. It was a very expensive week. :dizzy: BTW :hb: to David!!! You'll do fine with the cake. Remember on WW you can eat everything you just have to watch you portions.

Jen, some how I missed the post where you are giving up???? I hope not!!!! You got to hang in there with me! I need a partner in this! Don't leave me! ;)

Well, I have been doing alright till lunch today. I went to the drive in window at subway because it is pouring out rain :rain: and I thought it would be simple to just order my usual red wine vinegerette 6 inch club no cheese everything but no mayo, must. just the red wine vinegerette and I get home and they had mayo, mustard, oil and vineger and no red wine vinegerette. I was so hungry I ate it so instead of only 7 points it's probably going to be 10 because of the mayo. UGH! Oh well......

Janie, :bravo: on your loss!!!! That's great! I haven't even stepped on the scales this week. Those vet bills can add up. Although we got a break yesterday. My daughter got a cockatiel for her birthday. And we needed to get his wings trimmed. I am too :chicken: to do it myself. So, I took him to the pet store where we bought him and they did it for free! :D :dancer: So, sometimes there are breaks with these animals! We have a cat and a dog as well so life can get interesting.

Hello to Dianne, Ruth, Es, Sandy, LeeAnn, Terri and who else I may have unintentionally left off! TTFN!

WEIGH TO GO!!! 1 lb. is a good thing :cp:

Donna,
I had posted this morning about feeling down, and like quitting, due to having a bad week. Later I deleted that portion of my post, but not before Janie read it.
I get the same thing at Subway...love the red wine vinagarette. Better to count it as a few more, I'd do the same. That's aggravating tho, I would be ticked...how hard is it to make a sandwich?

I did resume exercising today, am not going to let my little pity party get the best of me :nono:

Thank you to both of you for your support :D

Hey girls,

I hope everyone is keeping warm. I sure do hope that Spring is right around the corner. I'm having trouble focusing on anything, especially school. I need some warm sunny days, instead of dreary, cold and raining!!

So far, I have stayed OP. I'm not as excited about this as I am when I usually start trying to lose. I guess because I didn't really have that so-called "click". I just woke up Sunday morning desperate for a change! I guess you could say I was tired of being tired!!

JANIE, congrats on the 1 lb. Keep up the good work. Are you exercising? I wish I was close to graduatiing. but, I'm going for a 4-year degree. After this semester I have 2 years left!! Gosh, I hope it flys by!!

TERRI, wow, you get to go back to Colorado again!! I bet you can't wait.

JEN, hang in there girl! It is so hard to stay ontop of things sometimes.

ES, how are you? Wow, two secretaries for 50 people. I can just imagine that you have a full workload.

DIANNE, well, your right, it's doubtful that I can catch up to you with the grandbabies. lol That is a lot of Christmas presents!!

HI Donna, Zoe and anyone else that I may have left out.

Take care,

Happy Thursday evening y'all ~

Well, I made it through another busy week and tomorrow, well, TGIF!! Greg is going to AZ tomorrow afternoon until Tuesday so I'm single for a few days. This may help me to not eat so much since I won't have to worry about cooking at night for 4 nights. I hope it helps because I've been having a difficult time since getting back from vacation.

The Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas has been disabled for the last 2 days. Geeze, that get incompassitated with some ice. Thank goodness that I'm from the northeast and I know how to act in this weather. The bad thing is/was that we didn't have any water for 2 days!! Peeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwww!! They have the road all torn up for an entire block and we're right in the middle of that block.....with all the water pipes exposed to the elements, what did they THINK would happen?? Sheesh....at any rate, we have water now. Thank God we have a water cooler and had numerous 5 gallon bottles so we could heat and wash with. My hair was needing an ambulance.

Dianne ~ hope you're taking care of yourself sweetie. I'm sure Willie is. :D Did you go back to work yet?

Jen ~ thanks for asking and yes, bad roads but we're all thawed out now. :)

Es ~ the roads had about 3 inches of ice on them and cars were just sliding sideways. :yikes: I am only 3 miles from work but my ride was worse than those 20 miles away. They had the highways which were bad but not as bad as the unused side streets. That weather doesn't bother me but I get afraid of those idiots who still ride too fast. Hey, "and then some" is good. :)

dlzbth ~ thanks to you too for your thoughts and this ice.

Terri ~ Colorado again!!??!!?? Wow, you lucky, lucky girl.

Hi Ruth, Janie, Sandy ~ hope I didn't miss anyone. Have a great evening and a wonderful Friday.

Hi Gals,

I can hardly keep up with all the notes, what a prolific group!
I stayed the same this week and I think it is mainly because of TOM also.
Janie, that is great progress losing a pound this week.

Jen, hang in there, your great start was a big part of getting me remotivated. We can be such a great support for eachother here.

Dianne, take care of yourself and get well soon, I have had a lowlying cold for the past week. It was not enough to stay home for, but enough to slow me down.

Ruth, I have no end of admiration for you taking on all those courses, you are doing fabulously.

Zoe, I used to live in Virginia, and the ice storms are so much worse than the snow in the northeast, the only car accidents I have ever had were following ice storms. Be careful.

I visited my mother on Wednesday, it is about an hour away. I usually make a day of it. Do you believe that after 4 years she is walking again, we didn't even bring the wheelchair. We went shopping and out for lunch. I ordered baked scallops, and did pretty well. I never thought bread was my downfall until lately. That is where I had trouble all this week. Perhaps it is due to my TOM.

The other thing that is keeping me really busy is being chair of the board at my church. We just had our Religious education director resign last week. We had 3 meetings this week mainly on this one issue.

Greg, my little actor, is in another play, it is for a Dramafest competition. The event is this weekend, so I am looking forward to seeing him perform again.

Hi Terri, Es, Donna, and hope I got everyone!

:grouphug:
Have a great weekend everyone,

This computer is driving me crazy this morning, it is so slow!

How is everyone today? We are finally warming up here in Louisiana. Thank goodness. I hope it stays warm, my poor knees have been hurting for a week. Yesterday, I noticed that evertime I got out in the 39 degree weather, the knees starting hurting. While I'm inside they weren't near as bad.

SANDY, thank you. I've always wanted a college education. I'm just a "country bumpkin" or "small town country girl", I've always felt that a degree would help my self-esteem. Two years ago I got an amazing opportunity to go to school with my ex-employer paying for half of it and our government paying the other half. In fact, I need to start working on all that bureaucratic redtape (which I'm dreading).

ZOE, a little ice can certainly create a lot of havoc here in the south. I've always felt comfortable driving in it, except that not everyone is smart enough to take their time and stay off their brakes. There is nothing as nerve racking as watching the guy in front of you constantly hitting his brakes while driving on ice and snow!

Well, I have a 9:00 am class, so I better start getting ready.

Take care,
Ruth

Thanks, Sandy, for the support! I know how motivated I was by hearing of Zoe's success, and of course, Terri is and always will be my role model :D . I've been hanging around here since she was on her way to goal. While it may have taken me lots longer to finally get motivated, I owe it to everyone here for whatever progress I make. We all contribute in our unique ways to this forum. We're all in this together. :grouphug:

Jen, I sure hope you have a great weekend!

Well, ladies I guess this is not going to work out for me. I am so very discouraged. I am really trying... yes I splurged last weekend but that shouldn't be so much that it has ruined everything I have worked so hard for. I have journaled. I stay within my point range 90% of the time since I have started. Sometimes I am even on the low end of my range. I am exercising not every day but I am. I stepped on the scales and I have gained two more pounds again. I am going to call it quits. I haven't been with you ladies that long but I can tell you all have been supporting each other a long time and it is definately working for you all. I on the other hand have not been so fortunate. I really thought I finally found my click but... I was deceived.

Thanks ladies, for putting up with me.

Donna, before you give up, please know that we are not all at our goal. I have been coming to 3fatchicks since Jan 2000, I have lost and regained the same 20 lbs twice since then. Right now, I'm trying to lose it for the 3rd time. Also, that 20 is not all I have to lose, I need to lose a total of 55 lbs to be at my goal.

We support each other even when we aren't loosing. This site provides support in all areas of our lives. We have supported each other through the births of babies, the deaths of friends and family, the misdeeds of our children, it so much more than weight loss support. So please don't jump ship because you are discouraged! Can't never could do anything.

You have been complaining of pre-menopausal symtoms. Has it occurred to you that your weight gain may be water weight. Your hormones may be totally off. Maybe you should go for a check up.

Well, I've preached enough, hope everyone else is having a good Friday. Yeah, the weekend is here.

See you later,
Ruth

I was almost finished with my post and then I read your post Donna. Please reconsider. This happened to me so many times. I plateaued or gained for 2 months straight one time and I kept plugging away and then it broke free and started down again. I know it is so discouraging. We would love for you to stay with us. Ruth is right. It could be all the hormones etc... contributing to this. Hope to see that you stayed with us.

Dianne,
I hope you are better today. Too funny about Justin.
My 11 yr. old just found some signs of puberty. He is so funny. He suddenly bacme very cautios about the towel after a shower now. He couldn't of cared less last week.
Kick butt at that meeting Dianne. Love to be a fly on that wall for sure.

Jen,
Glad to hear it that you aren't giving up. I have had so many ups and downs. Remember there will always be ups and downs. Great job on exercising. Have a great time this weekend.
That Mike Chiklis is a real pussycat in real life. He is a great actor.
I noticed I am not getting any e-mail reminders about this thread. Could the name have anything to do with it? I need reminders for everything. LOL If we do keep the name do I have change my reminder thingy?
Bruce is working with the air force on the new vehicle.
It is very busy there now. He is renting a two bedroom now and getting minimal furniture and then rent more for the summer.
He will have 2 households to run for 6 weeks. I will do my best to watch the bills here. The food will be less. The dinners won't be as fancy. The kids like lesser dinners. I usually have the fancy ones cause Bruce is here.
The kids are very excited. I am upstepping my work outs to get into better shape for Col. I can see why that place is the no. 1 fittest city in the country. To do any of the attractions you have to climb and climb and I loved it. Everything is in the Rockys. Even the zoo.
On Survivor: Those women are starting to get to me. I want a few to get off now. Heidi, Jenna, Joanna, and Shawna. The guys are making fools of themselves with the talk about the "HOT" girls. Makes me sick.

Zoe,
Be careful!!!!! No water. that is horrible. I hope it came back on by now. I saw the mess on the news. We are disabled with 1 in. here too. Just not used to it.

Janie,
Sounds like you will have a wonderful time anyway. :D
Hope those symptons go away soon.
2 things I really love is that there is hardly any humidity (it could be 85 out and it feels like 70) and living in Al. that was a welcome perk. And there are no mosquitoes.
I loved the Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak. The city is just beautiful with it being at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. I could stare at them all day. They are right there. The snow on the top of Pikes Peak is awesome. It can be 75 in June at the bottom and it will be 32 at the top of the peak. Unbelievable. I also loved the Air Force Chapel. Britts wants to have her wedding there.
Britts loved the fact she lost 8 pounds there while eating all she wanted. (Faster metabolism than mine). We exercised every day just sight seeing. I only gained 4 the whole summer (6 weeks)and I can gain 10 in 2 weeks on vacation. I ate a lot more than normal but with all the exercise I kept a lot at bay. I didn't even try to diet while I was there. I lost the 4 the first week back.
The kids loved Pikes Peak, The Gardens, Ghost town, 6 Flags in Denver, and a lot more. We did something different every weekend. The Royal Gorge (an hour away) was fantastic. A couple of couples there said they just came from the Grand Canyon and they liked this one better. We walked on a suspension bridge across this deep Gorge and then rode an incline to the bottom and stood by the Colorado River. It was so quiet and all you heard was the river. They do white water rafting there too. I will stop cause I could go on and on.
We might move there after Britts graduates. She will be a senior next year.
Hope your kitty is all right. I hate when our babies are sick.

Donna,
Keep us posted. I haven't had any symptons yet. My mom started men. early. Don't know if I will. I am 43.
I hate when that happens with subs and such. The incompetence sometimes really gets to me. they only half listen.

Es,
Yes, all the kids are very excited.

Ruth,
I commend you for going back to school. That is wonderful.
The 2 yrs. will fly by fast.

Sandy,
I am so glad your mom is doing better. I'll bet you are ecstatic. She must be a strong woman. Tell greg good luck. That must be fun watching him.
Britts has her first concert this weekend. She is nervous.

Well, I am going to eat lunch and take a shower.

Terri

Good morning guys:

Donna, PLEASE don't give up - most of us here have been through this several times, the ups and downs, gains and losses, being motivated and NOT. You are in good company here, believe me. Things will get better and you will see changes - we didn't gain it all in a week and we won't lose it that way either. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't give up. And what's my favorite saying???? (Jen?) "Sometimes Life Gets in the Way".

We are all in this together and will support each other always. Sometimes, one little thing someone in here says makes me re-think my own situation. Jen, Terri, Zoe, Es, Ruthie, Janie and Sandy have all been an inspiration to me, whether I'm doing well or not. At one time or another someone is doing great and someone may be doing lousy (me especially:lol: ), but we stick it out. STAY WITH US, GIRL!!!

Thanks all for your well wishes. I went into work yesterday like the idiot I am and had to leave at 12:00! To top it off my boss wasn't even in:mad: So, I'm home today - everyone at work yelled at me to stay home - they don't want my germs:p

I will come back later or tomorrow to respond to the rest of your posts, but I really wanted to address Donna. :grouphug:

Hugs,
Dianne

Donna,
Please reconsider. We all go though bad times. Right before you joined us I had regained 15 lbs in 3 months after having a particularly difficult visit with my mom.
I don't remember who mentioned the Wendie's Plan article but perhaps you might want to give it a try. The other thing is, as Ruth said, it could be your hormones. Also If I remember correctly you are fairly close to your goal weight already and you are exercizing more. You cannot expect to loose as fast if you're close to you goal and you could be converting to muscle mass which is heavier than fat. The important thing is are you feeling healthier? WW is a healthy lifestyle program not a quick loss plan. OK I'll get off my :soap: You're a special person and we'll all miss you!!

 Everyone.

Donna, no way we're letting you go!! I've been here since 1999. I never reached my goal but I know if it wasn't for our group I would have totally given up. It is very frustrating. I never heard the click. I'm still waiting:lol: I just take one day at a time. The other morning I felt just like you. I was going to tell everyone that I wasn't going to follow WW anymore but I came to my senses & asked my self do I really want to quit? What made me feel that way was one of my co-workers found a picture from about 8 yrs. ago from a Xmas party. The majority of the people in that picture have lost a lot of weight since then. I GAINED:yikes: I felt depressed all day after looking at that picture. Then reality set in. There's a saying but I forgot how it goes about getting what you always got:?: Can't remember it. Anyway, whatever you decide please stay with us. I will miss you if you leave. Email me anytime at Essie426@aol.com We'll get thru this together.;)
See the attachment at the end of my post? That's how I'll be walking around if you leave us.

Dianne, I'm glad they sent you home. You really should have waited till you felt much better. If you feel up to it you should make yourself some chicken soup. If we were neighbors I would have made it for you. (spanish style):D

Jen, sorry I missed you. Have fun!!

Sandy, Mom has come a long way. I'm like you when it comes to bread. I could eat it all day long. Why does it have to be so high in carbs.

I have to catch up with the rest of the posts. I'll be back later.

Have a great day everybody:wave:

I am crying here. I just couldn't believe all the kindness you all have shown me. You know, I went out and bought a at home pregnancy test and I took it and it came out negative so I KNOW now that it's menopause. If I don't start next week I guess I better see the doctor. Oh boy....

I really should of deleted that post but I am sure glad I didn't now. You all have helped me in ways you will never know. Thank you and I will not give up!!!! It will get better.

Donna,
I am so glad you are staying here. :bravo: You will not be sorry. We all love it here whether we are doing well or not. If it weren't for this group I probably would have gained it all back. Hey I've done it before :dizzy: and I will have to fight the good fight not to do it again. I think the symptoms you are experiencing right now are a big factor to what is going on. Don't weigh but once a week. I could gain sporadically because of water or whatever all week long and could end up with a loss at the end of the week. Drink lots of water and keep your chin up. We will always be here for you.

Morning everyone,

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. Anyone have big plans? I have a few errands to run later, then I plan to catch up on my reading for school.

I've fallen behind in one of my classes and my grade is dropping. I didn't realize class room participation counted so much. I skipped 3 classes (once because of the rain and cold), anyway, my grade has dropped from 94 to 75 (NOT GOOD AT ALL). All the others are still in the A & B range!! Thank goodness!

DONNA, so glad that you decided to stay with us. I sometimes end up AWOL myself when I'm not doing good. But I always end up coming back here. I know that even if I'm not on track, eventually I may get motivated to try again.

DIANNE, I hope you are feeling better today!!

Hi TERRI, ZOE, ES, JANIE, and SANDY. Hope I didn't miss anyone.

I'll be checking in later.

Good saturday to you all!

Ruth, I hope you can get "caught up" today. It's another gray, gloomy day here it would be a good day to do just that. I feel so much better today emotionally although last night was another confirmation of what I learned yesterday I am pre-menopausal. I had night sweats all night and it was a cold night!

Dianne, I really appreciated that although you were sick you took the time and energy to be a support to me yesterday. Each of you have effected me like you will never know but I am going to make it an attempt to let you know that I appreciate it and please don't give up on me. Thanks so much!!!! :flow2: I hope you feel better today!

Good day to Zoe, Terri, Es, Sandy, Janie, and Jen!

Hope I didn't leave any one out because you all are important!

I'm drinking my water today!!! :bravo:

Hi guys:

Jen - I'm sorry I missed wishing you a great trip this weekend. Hope you have a good time with your family in Wisconsin. How far is that from where you live? You drive or fly? I'm soooooooo direction-less:p

Hey Donna - You're very welcome - I just know that the same was done for me when I wasn't doing well - the support here is really great. Sorry to hear about the night sweats - I haven't yet experienced that, but who knows. This whole menopause thing is a pain - I find I have to be prepared at all times, because sometimes I don't get my period for 3 months - then it will be 2 times in a month - what's up with that? :s: Oh, well, the joys of womanhood:lol:

Janie - I meant to say :bravo: for the 1 lb loss - good job! 1 lb a week works for me! How is little Alexander "the great" doing?

Es, mi amiga - Could you be.... would you be..... my neighbor (re: the spanish chicken soup).........aww.......that reminds me .......... Mr. Rogers, he was so sweet. Willie says he heard he was called a walking valium. Kids will miss him.

ZoeGirl - How's the ice/water situation? I hope things are better. You made me laugh about your hair needing an ambulance:lol: Be careful out there on the roads. How's your "single" weekend going?

Sandy - how great that your mom is walking again, she must be really strong. I'm sure you've helped her tremendously. How did Greg's play go? Was it today?

Terri - Colorado sounds exciting - maybe I'll talk willie into vacationing there one year.

Ruth - You are doing so well in school, I'm sure that 75 won't hurt you too badly. Just think, in two years you'll have a degree. What do you plan to do then? I give you and Jen so much credit. How's little Brittany Paige doing? (I love the name Paige, so cool for a middle name).

Well, I'm feeling lots better today, finally! I'm taking it easy cause I really need to get back to work on Monday, before they kick my butt out :s:  Justin is playing in Manhattan tomorrow, but I think I'll have to sit this one out. He plays with the Columbia University Jazz band at a club called Smoke the first Sunday of each month, so I'll be able to see him next month.

Well, I'm watching the show on channel 13 - Rhythm & Soul with Aretha Franklin, Lou Rawls, Gloria Gaynor, the temptations and many motown people - my music! Showing my age for sure, lol.

I'll talk to you's tomorrow.

Hugs,
Dianne

How are my all my Girls?:) I have such a busy day ahead of me. We're taking David to the Red Lobster later. It was just Dave, Pete & Me now it's a whole crowd! It'll be fun.

Dianne, Pete loves motown. Too bad I didn't know it was on, I would have taped it for him. Does Justin ever play in Suffolk?

Donna, I'm very happy to hear you're staying. Doesn't matter if we have a loss or not we're all friends here. :grouphug: I struggle everyday. Are you drinking your water? That's one thing that I have no problem doing. I love water. Makes me feel like I'm getting rid of all the junk in my system.

I better sign off. I want to head out early today.

Have a great day:wave:

Morning ladies,

Well, I did absolutely nothing yesterday. I had all these big plans and I sat on my behind all day!! Sometimes I don't seem to have any motivation when it comes to doing anything.

Even though I was lazy and in a yucky mood, I didn't overeat. I stayed within my points range. In fact, I banked 3 points. I weigh tomorrow, my scale is so unreliable, I need to buy a better one. This is the second cheap digital that I've had problems with. I might go invest in a new one tomorrow.

ES, Red Lobster sounds so wonderful. I would love to have a plate of shrimp about now. Have fun and wish Dave a Happy Birthday for me.

DIANNE, Brittany is doing great. She will be a month old on Thursday. I know her mom will dread having to go back to work in a few weeks. My SIL is trying to talk her into staying home with baby. She hates to give up her income, but I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't decide to stay home after a while.

As for what will I do after I get my degree. I really haven't decided if I want to try to find a job in a small accounting firm or get a job with a larger company in their accounting department. I guess I'll figure it out as the time gets closer. I'm hoping that I get some job offers through the college, I would love to entertain some out-of-town job offers. Would I move!! IN A HEARTBEAT!!LOL

Well, better sign off and go spend time with my Maurice. Since he went into car sales Sunday is our only day together.

Check in with you girls later,
Ruth

Hi everyone,
We returned home this afternoon, rested, happy and STUFFED! I don't know what I'll do when I see the scale tomorrow  but that's ok, I'll face the music.
While the town we go to is only an hour away, it's like another world  We did a winery/brewery day on Saturday, driving the countryside and sampling. :D A night at the races (greyhound) and lots of meals out. I'm not going to say I did well, only that I had fun.

Donna!
the first thing I read when catching up on the posts was that you were throwing in the towel :( absolutely not! Just as Tom Hanks said in that movie,"there's no cryng in baseball" we have to tell you ,"there's no quitting in Fab. 40's!"
Take it from me, I've been here since 1999, when I started posting here I weighed 212, I'm now 226 :yikes: FOUR years with no losses. Due to the loving, caring friends I've made here, I've stuck, or I should say they're stuck with me. One day, one meal, at a time. Let's stick together and do this!

I want to address everyone's posts, but will have to catch up tomorrow. Jess and the kids are stopping by for a visit, they've been at Joey's and want to see us before heading home :D so I'll get a dose of Brandon and Matt :D :D

Morning, well, it's Monday and the week starts all over again!

My WI is today. I think I'll go get a better scale today. I know that I've lost some, just not sure how much.

We had a nice day yesterday. Usually we just stay home on Sundays, (our only day together.) Yesterday, Maurice's best friend from high school invited us over for supper. Jim's family was there, his mother and his two brothers. The guys sat around talking about some of the stunts they pulled back in school. It was really fun, guess we sometimes forget how much fun it can be to get out and socialize some.

Oh, we also went to see Brittany. She is a little doll.

JEN, glad to hear you had a great weekend. I am so wanting to go away for the weekend. Maurice and I won't be able to go anywhere until he gets vacation time and that isn't until July or August.

Well, I'm gonna get busy. I need to figure out how I'm going to spend my time today. We have Monday and Tuesday off from school because of Mardi Gras. I need to make sure I get something accomplished since I goofed off all day Saturday.

Talk to you later,

Ruth,
Hope you got caught up. I didn't realize they cared as much about that as long as you got your work done. Good thing you found out now.
Speaking of Mardis Gras. Do you go to any of the parades? It sounds exciting although I heard the tourists have sort of made a bad reputation for Mardis Gras. They get too out of hand.

Donna,
I hope the symptons get better for you.

Dianne,
That is a great way to look at Mr. Rogers. I never could figure out what he did with my kids but they were zombies when they watched him. Magical!

Es,
Love Red Lobster. Hope you had a fun.

Jen,
Hope your granbaby fix was a good one. That must be a great feeling when they come by.
I am so glad you had a great time in Wisconsin. How far is that from you?

This weekend my smallest son, Bradley, whose 10th birthday is tomorrow, had his Pinewood Derby in scouts and Brittany had her chior concert. It was beautiful. She looked so pretty. They had on very expensive gowns. Thank goodness they will have to wear it 2 more times. Then Bruce took us out to a new cook at the table Japanese restaurant. Love those. It was called Tokyo. Bruce left for Colorado Springs and then he flys from there to Charlotte and will be back Sat. :(
Well I'll talk to y'all later.

Good Monday morning!

Terri,
I'll bet Brittany looked beautiful. Happy Birthday to Bradley!! :hb: isn't he your youngest? Safe trip to Bruce.

Ruth,
Sometimes a nice relaxing weekend of doing nothing is good for us. Glad you enjoyed your visit with friends. Do you do anything for Mardi Gras? I'll make packaged jambalaya w/chicken and maybe some shrimp tomorrow. My sister makes it from scratch and it's awesome, but she's the one who moved to Arkansas :(

Es,
I'll bet Red Lobster was good. Hope David enjoyed his birthday! You're right about the water; I think it really helps with losses too.

Dianne,
Hope you're feeling much much better. Now that spring is right around the corner, all that nasty flu and such better be going away!

I faced the music, or scale, this morning, and had a gain of 1.5 Last week was a bad week for me, and the weekend of eating out and basically not paying attention to being OP didn't help. Now it's all done and over with, and a new week begins :D

JEN, 1.5 lbs gained is not that bad. I can gain that in a day!! Or at least it feels that way sometimes. Little extra exercise and stay within your point range and it will be gone by the next WI.

TERRI and JEN, we have Mardi Gras parades here in the Shreveport/Bossier City area. They are pretty much family oriented. No one is flashing their breast or anything else for that matter. They even provide a section of the parade route that is a no-drinking area. People line up early on Saturday mornings (we have two, one on one Saturday and the next Saturday there is another one) with their motor homes, campers, etc... lots of people cookout while waiting all day for the parade to begin.

Oh, I haven't been to a parade in years. Guess I just don't like being in such a crowd of people.

As for Mardi Gras in New Orleans, I've never been. My mom went several years ago, she came back with some awful pictures taken right on the streets of New Orleans. Believe me, I have no plans of ever going to Mardi Gras down there. LOL
Talk to you later,
Ruth

Good Monday Evening everyone ~

Another Monday under my belt. Yeah! How are y'all doing now that the weekend is over? I shopped all weekend. :D:D Greg is out of town so it serves him right.....right??

My WW meeting only showed me a .8 loss. I guess I should be happy for any loss since I was SO bad the weekend before. I was hoping to at least loose the pound that I gained on vacation but not to be so. I am bound and determined to loose 2 lbs next Saturday. Haha. We'll see. I'm off to a good start though....with Greg out of town, I'm able to be better and this weekend I stayed within my points. Usually, by Monday morning, I am in the hole for about 25!! :o

So I shopped and I was really happy to have bought quite a few size 10's!! Woo Hoo!! This after being a 16 or 18 only 7 months ago. I have to say that I can't remember EVER being a size 10 ~ other than when I was in 5th grade.

Well, sorry I can't address anyone tonight. I have to go figure out what to have for din-din. Not having to cook is great although I had a high point lunch today so I don't have much left to eat.

Hope you are all doing great tonight. Talk to you's guys soon.

P.S. BTW, the water came back after only 2 days....ONLY??!!??

Zoe,
Very cool about the size 10's....enjoy your time alone :D

Terri,
thanks for the good words :) We did enjoy the weekend, very laid-back, especially for Joe, his job can get very stressful. I have to focue on swim suit season...it's coming!!!!

Ruth,
sounds as tho your Mardi Gras celebration is much more fun than New Orleans'...as far as family-friendly. While we've been to N.O. many times on vacation, I would never go there for Mardi Gras. Too much craziness. Hope you enjoy it; didn't realize the schools were off due to that!
I love New Orleans, we've been there 3 times on vacation; if it were up to me, we'd go there every year. Joe has put his foot down, however  Last time we were there was 1998. I can't explain it, something about the deep South...the rhythm of the days, the music, the food, the speech.....I must have been southern belle in a previous life!

Zoe, Congratulations on a size 10!!!!!! That's so wonderful!! :bravo: I was excited before the couples retreat fitting into a size 12! I've gone down 2 dress sizes in the last year so I guess my fit of throwing in the towel was a little unrealistic if you look back on what I have done in less than a year. Keep up the good work, Zoe!!!

Mardi Gras in New Orleans is quite interesting. I have been before and fortunately for me it was not bad. I had gone with my sil when they first moved to the Biloxi Mississippi area (from New Jersey) many, many, many moons ago. I heard from locals that Fat Tuesday is usually the worse. I don't think I would want to go again though. It's just too crowded for me. However, I love the architecture of New Orleans. I love those port cities any way that's why I am drawn to Charleston, S.C. and Savannah, Georgia and New Orleans. I also love Williamsburg, Virginia. I have a friend who loves outside the city limits and she says that during Mardi Gras they leave town. LOL She said she can't stand all the mess it causes. I could see how it would be old after a while. Now, St. Patricks day is coming up and that is a big deal where my mil lives in Mississippi. They have a huge parade which is getting bigger and bigger and they celebrate with formals like the mardi gras too before the actual even happens. It's definately a party season for that area of the states this month and the next!

Sorry I haven't posted earlier. I spent the morning with a friend of mine who's Dad under went 4 bypass surgery. It brought back memories of me just last May when I was that very room waiting news of my husband. He had a mitral valve replacement May 2nd and he ran into complications and had to stay in the hospital for 13 days. I hope since I've been there, done that sorta thing I was able to help her some how with how it works in intensive care. It's so emotionally draining in that place. Still have not started my cycle and I was running to the bathroom constantly today. It's probably nerves. I am going to call the DR tomorrow though.

I guess I better end now. Hello to all my dear friends here and I'm sorry I didn't get more personal. I will next time when I'm not so wore out! :dizzy: :tired:

Hi everyone,

Well, we're finally getting some snow here :D they're predicting about 9 inches by morning. Right now it's falling quickly and very pretty. The good thing is it'll be 40 by the end of the week, so it won't last long.

Today I went into the city to visit my step-mom, Helen. My Mom died in 1981; my Dad was young, only 61, and lonely. Joe and I had a wonderful widowed neighbor who was near my Dad's age, and we introduced them. My older sister was upset that Dad was dating, but I knew he needed to be with his own age group, and couldn't rely on his kids for all of his companionship. They ended up hitting it off, and were married in March of '96. In November of '96 my Dad suffered a heart attack and died in his sleep...they only had 8 months together. I am the only one in the family that has continued to keep in touch with Helen. She called me yesterday to tell me that she's moving to Dallas to move into a retirement home, to be near her oldest daughter who lives in Dallas. Helen wanted me to take a clock my Dad had made for her, as she is downsizing. It was bittersweet to see her for the last time (she's 86 now) and to say goodbye before she moves.
Life is so short, I've had a difficult day with many memories of my Dad.

Tomorrow will bring lots of shovelling, so I'll definitely get in some exercise points!

Hi guys:

Jen - what a heartwarming story about your Dad and Helen:) Its nice to know that even at their ages you can still find someone to share your life with and get another chance at being happy. I got really teary-eyed with that story. I know it must have been hard to be around all the memories of your Dad, but it must be good to know that he had someone in his life and wasn't lonely. Very sweet. Helen sounds like a sweetheart too.

Terri - :hb: to Bradley. Brittany must have felt like a real princess with that gown on!

Es - :hb: to David too - hope he enjoyed his day.

ZoeGirl - How cool size 10 and in only 7 months. You must feel sooooooooo good! :bravo:

Hi Ruthie, Janie, Donna, Sandy - hope you guys are all doing well.

Sooooooo sleepy, can't keep my eyes open..........zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Hey girls, just wanted ot say a quick goodnite before I call it an evening.

I broke down today and bought an expensive digital scale. Well, I'm a little depressed, I weighed 9 lbs more than I thought I did!! Oh well, just means I have to work that much harder.

Jen, what a sweet story about your Dad and Helen.

Congrats Zoe on the size 10. That is so exciting.

Well, I'm off to bed. I'll check in with you in the morning.

Good Mornning ~ a dreary day here in Fort Worth but it's supposed to be up near 65 today. (sorry Jen, did you get that snow yet?)

Today, hump day, mid-week, half-way there.....I have a wedding to attend on Friday afternoon. One of the girls who works for me is getting married at 3pm. Why 3pm on a weekday?? Anyway, I get to leave early which is nice. She is going on the same EXACT cruise that I went on for her honeymoon. I left her 2 'signs' that I was there ~ stickers in 2 of the ladies rooms.

Ruth ~ don't worry about the scale ~ I think you'll be happy with that digital one. I have a digital scale but it's only whole and halves. My friend Triacy has one like WW, .1, .2, .3 and so on. Is that what you got? I want that kind.

Jen ~ that is such a wonderful story about your dad. Even though we never forget out loved ones, it is so nice to know that we can go on and have a wonderful life, all the while we have the memories of the past. And we pass memories on to others, like Helen.

Dianne ~ hope you got some sleep :)

Donna ~ hope your friends Dad is doing well after his surgery and that you too are feeling better.

Terri ~ Hope Bradley had a great birthday.

Hi to anyone I haven't mentioned....time to run out the door to the office. Have a wonderful Wednesday. Talk to you's later.

Hi:wave:

I know I haven't been here in a few days. No excuses. Just too lazy to post. Sorry:(

Jen, the story about your Dad sounds like a movie that would have me in tears. I am such a mush for love stories.

Zoe, probably the wedding is cheaper on that day & time. Cool that you could leave work early.

Ruth, I have a digital scale. I'm very disappointed with my weight. I don't know what the heck is going on. I just have to keep exercising. Don't get too discouraged okay?;)

Dianne, so funny:lol: Well, you did say you were sleepy & couldn't keep your eyes open.

Donna, that was so thoughtful of you to go with your friend.

Hi there!

Jen, what a heartwarming story. I know that you had a hard day and I'm so sorry. Does it ever get better? I don't think so. I have lost only one parent and to me that's been very hard. I was very close to my mother. My Dad also remarried but their story is not the same as your Dads and Helens. My Dad and Ann knew each other since the first grade. She was actually my Mom's cousin. Sounds strange but it's ok! I promise. Nothing strange or hillbilly! Anyway, Ann is such a outgoing, positive person and she has been very good for my Dad.

My friends father is doing really well. He will be able to come home maybe tomorrow or Friday! But, my friend is exhausted. Her stepmother had come down with a fever and they sent her home so that the Dad would not catch anything and so Barb has had to do what the wife would of done to care for her father. I know she doesn't mind, but she struggles with health issues of her own and chronic fatigue is one of them. Anyway, it's been tough for her as I can relate.

I went to the doctor today. They did do another pregnancy test and it did come out negative and they were to draw blood to check on my ovary activity. Well, I'm a hard one to give any blood. My veins are so small and when you find one, it holds on to my blood and doesn't let go! I thought I was being smart and try to drink lots of water to expand my veins so they would not have any problems...but all that it did was allow me to give a very good urine specimen for the pregnancy test! Anyway, I've got to try again on Monday morning after a couple of days of water and gatorade. I also told him about my weight problem and he told me it was most likely water retention and not to get discouraged.. Of course, the blood test would determine that as well.

Dianne, I've deleted posts before. I guess we still can. You must of because I didn't see double posts from you!

Ruth, sorry for the new scales showing you 9#'s heavier. I was weighed at the DR's office and she always weighs me with all my clothes on and plus my bladder was about to burst I had to go so bad! SO I didn't feel too bad about what it showed because I know I'm not that heavy. (I'll tell myself that at least)

Terri, did Bradley have a good birthday? I hope so.

Zoe, How was the wedding!!! What kind of signs did you leave? Too funny!!!!

Well ladies I got to get Elena from school now. I will post again later.

Donna,
you're a true friend, it's so important to have someone there when it's needed. My old family dr. told me to lie down while giving blood samples, it's easier for them to find the vein; it's always worked for me.

Dianne,
hope you're back to normal...the flu gone? To delete a post, click on the edit post button, then on the next screen, there's a delete post button at the top. It'll delete just that post.

Ruth,
don't fret what the scale says. You have been doing well not knowing what it said, right? We all struggle, it'll come off.

Es,
Hope you're ok, sounded kind of down? I'm struggling this week AGAIN! I'm on my 10th week and am having a hard time not eating everything in sight. I have not been "eating by the numbers" however, and am going to pull out my old WW pamphlets to refresh my memory about the proteins, etc.

I got very cocky, and lazy, and felt I could do it without working at it! big mistake :o
If I can't stay focused after only 2 and a half months, how will I stick with this for the long run?

Zoe,
Enjoy your 65 degrees! I'm definitely jealous! We got about 5 inches of snow last night. It's very pretty and I got a good workout shovelling it all. I'm so afraid to let Joe out there to do it since he had the heart attack. Then to make matters worse, I recently read that NO ONE over the age of 50 should ever shovel snow. Yikes...we'll have to hire someone soon

Tomorrow is Jessica's birthday, she'll be 29  They're going out to celebrate on Saturday, so we're watching the boys for them over the weekend :D We'll have a family dinner here on Sunday to do her gifts, cake, etc.

later,

Jen, did I sound down? I didn't mean to. I'm fine. It's just that I can't get with the program! Dave's birthday was fun. I had 2 Long Island Ice Tea's then I didn't even think about WW. Next day I felt awful about blowing it. We did have a good time. Happy birthday to Jessica. :) :hat:

Weatherman is prediciting snow/slush for tomorrow morning. I don't think we're going to get much.

Donna, I have to get blood work done every 3 months & I go thru the same thing. Hate it.

My cholesterol had dropped so much I couldn't believe it. Before meds. it was 320, now it's 183!:D I'm so happy. It hasn't been that low since my teenage years.

Well, let me go. Pete should be calling any minute.

Hi everyone,

Well, I had one class today, it is hard going back after a few days off. This was the class that my grade has dropped due to skipping 3 days. So, I had to make myself go.

The weather here today was around 62. It was nice, it would have been nicer if the sun was shining. I am so sick of this dreary weather, it is hard to get motivated. Darn, here I am complaining about the rainy miserable weather here and some of you guys are shoveling snow. I'm not sure how I'd cope with that!

ZOE, yes I bought a scale that weighs to the tenths. It also calculates body fat. You program your height, gender and age into it, then when you step on it, it weighs you and shows body fat.

My other scale was digital also, but it was a cheap one. This morning I weighed 181.6 on the new scale, the old scale said I weighed 161!!! I WISHED!! And the old one would weigh me a different amount evertime I stepped on it. I tried changing the battery, it didnt' help. I think I'm really going to like the new one, especially as the number get lower and lower:D

DONNA, glad to hear that your friend's father is doing alright. I remember when my Dad had his surgery several years ago. It is pretty tough.

I'm also glad to hear that you went to the doctor. I know you will be glad to know what is going on with your body.

ES, congrats on the cholesterol. Mine has been high for several years now. I finally got it down last year when I had my check up, but once I gained the weigh back I'd lost, well I figured it went back up. Lately I've been eating a bowl of oatmeal every morning. Just maybe, when I have my next checkup the news will be the same as last year.

JEN, I know what you mean. Last year I quit journaling, then I guit going to meetings and the first thing I knew I was back up in the 180s. I learned the hard way that I can't do it without journaling, etc.. I love WW online, journaling is so easy.

Everyone have a good evening.

Hi guys:

Jen - thanks for the info on deleting a post - it worked! So easy, don't know why I never noticed the delete box after editing a post..........DUH!!:dizzy: Yes, I'm all better, thanks. I know what you mean about the struggling - here I joined ww at work, did well the first 2-3 weeks and now I'm out of control!! Feels like wasted money, but in reality I know its not, cause even if I'm not losing, the program is still on my mind, and I do make SOME good choices SOMETIMES. So, I'll continue to struggle until I hear that click again. You've been doing great, you'll get back on track, don't worry.

Es, mi amiga - que tal? Congrats on the lower cholestrol - great news! I am on medication too - just started 2 mos ago, so I won't know until I take a blood test after the 3rd month whether its gone down or not. Yeah, I heard snow again for tomorrow - YUK! What kind of drink is a long island tea? I've heard of it, but not sure if it has alcohol or not.

Hi ZoeGirl, Terri, Donna, Janie, Sandy & Ruth (did I miss anyone? - hope not).

Have a great Thursday everyone - I'll talk to you's tomorrow.

Hugs,

It seems that I'm not alone in hearing that "click" again! I have been so out of it and after reading what Jen and Ruth said about how important journaling is I realized my notebook was put aside. Even had a new program to record it on using my MS Word but have not even tried it out.
Es, :bravo: on the lowered cholesterol!!! I can imagine how nice that feeling is. My cholesterol has always run low along with my BP and my good cholesterol also ran low but it equaled out so I was OK. My husband has high cholesterol but with his heart catherization last May his arteries are great! Makes no sense but thankful just the same.
Dianne, it's not wasted money. I know EXACTLY what you mean. Hang in there and we will do it together! Glad you are better!
Ruth, your scales sound a little confused. LOL I am not even stepping on mine till next week. Yes, it's nice to know officially what's going on. I knew it all the time but it's good to be on the same page as your doctor. :)
We had some rough weather here last night. Loud rouring thunder, lightening and heavy rain. It's still cloudy and dreary but not :rain: I guess it's better than all that snow. My sil who lives in New Jersey said they don't have the funds to do something with all the snow they have pushed to the side. She said once it melts it is going to be a mess with floods.
Ok, today I went to my exercise class. On Thursdays it is called a Prime Time where it's not the same ole aerobics every time. Sometimes we use the ball, sometimes the bars and sometimes the free weights or bands. Today was totally different. It was a combined Bike, Step, power bar and mat class. MAN! Let me tell you I've NEVER done a bike class and it was tough but a lot of fun! My face is still red from it! :barbell: Ok... I had to bank at least 10 points today on that class alone!  ;)
As I cool down more and more I am getting cold sitting here so I better go now.
Hello to Sandy, Janie, Terri, Zoe, Jen, Es, Dianne and Ruth!!! If I left anyone out I am so very :sorry:

Have a great day!

I'm home early :cp: The weather got so bad people started leaving work early. I left the earliest. It's really bad out there.

Donna, I am so proud of you. ;) You go with your exercise class(high five)!! Have you ever heard of Curves? I'm going to go check it out tomorrow. Pete said he heard on their commercial you can try it for 1 week free. Talking about "the click", as long as I've been a WW I never heard it. I was checking out ediets & it reminded me of the old WW program Selections.

Dianne, LI Ice Tea has absolut, rum & some other liquors:dizzy: I was feeling very happy if you know what I mean. :s: Later on that night I had ice cream cake from Carvel. I totally blew it that day but I'm back on track.

Ruth, I heard about that scale. How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking? I would love to get one.

Going to go watch my soaps.

Evening everyone,

ES, I got my scale from Bed, Bath and Beyond, it was $59. I am so glad that Maurice hasn't asked me how much it cost. He would freak. Not that he is tight, but that's a lot to pay for a bathroom scale. But, I've spent almost that much on cheaper ones that quick working.

I haven't had a Long Island Ice Tea in years. From what I remember they are pretty darn good.

Well, I'm calling it an evening, just wanted to say hello to everyone.

Snow again!! I'm listening to the news & they're saying there's ice everywhere. I'm so glad I'm off.:D

Pete bought me a new computer for my birthday.:cp: Early birthday present. He said it was a deal he couldn't pass up. I have a flat screen. I have to try & sell my other one. It was acting up but if someone knows about computers I'll sell it dirt cheap. I heard if I donate it it's a write off. He buys me a computer then he says I'm on it too much. MEN!!!

Donna, have a nice weekend.

Ruth, how's the baby? did I mention that my nephew's wife is pregnant? We'll have a new baby in the family in October. I'm thrilled.

Terri, what's up Buddy? You haven't been posting much. I miss you.

Zoe,
Yes, be happy with any loss. You are doing great! Too funny about the Signs.

Donna,
Is your dad ok now? Hope you feel better !!!!
Great job with the exercising.

Jen,
You made me cry. That was so sweet and I am glad your dad had that time with her. I am so glad you supported him. No guilt there. If you see Helen again give her an extra hug. Your dad was so young. :hb: to Jessica. The time goes too fast. Enjoy the boys.

Ruth,
Some of that gain could be because it is a new scale. They are all different. I remember those Long Island teas. I got so sick one night. I had 3 of them and whew!!!!!!!!!!! Never had one since.

Es,
I am so happy that your cholesterol went down. That is great!
Glad to hear you had a good time.
Congrats on the new computer. That is wonderful.
For Val. Day we got one of those new
Copier/fax machines/printer/photo maker machines. Have you seen those? It is really cool.

Dianne,
Bradley had a great birthday. Brittany looked like a young lady. After the concert Brittany put the blinds down in the Van and threw off her gown (after having the boys put their hands over their eyes and Bruce had to move the rear view mirror- She wanted him to put his hands over his eyes too but that is where I drew the line since he was driving  ) and put her sweat shirt on and jeans. Bruce said "Are we losing our young lady again?"
That will be the last time we will see her in a dress until the next time.

Well, tonight I am having 3 boys over for a sleepover for Bradley's birthday. I will have 5 boys total. Brittany will get paid well if she helps. She will intervene on any scuffles that come up. Bruce is still in Col. Sp. so Britts is elected.
Lots of food, lots of challenges.

Yes, I'm so glad it's Friday. Today has been ho-hum. But I'm having a lot of those lately. Sometimes I think I'm just borderline of being depressed. I just can't seem to kick this feeling.

TERRI, did you take lots of photos of Brittany all dressed up. That way you can always have the pics to look back on and remember how cute she is all dressed up.

ES, sorry that you guys are having more snow. We finaily saw a little sunshine today, but it never did get into the 70's like the weatherman promised!! Oh, Congrats on the new computer!

JEN, did I wish Jessica a happy birthday? If not, please tell her for me.

NEED YOUR INPUT PLEASE! I have a speech and an English paper that I will be working on this weekend. I plan on writing about the issue of the "over-medicating of our children with Ritalin and other such drugs"

I know that there are children out there who are being helped by this drug, but I also believe that there are many children out there who may be on it and not need it.

When my grandson Nicholas was in first grade, his teacher told me that he needed to be put on medication so that he would behave in class. I informed her that both of his parents had drug problems and I was not about to have him put on medication. I did not want him to learn at such an early age that a pill would solve his problems.

I was lucky, the school did not push the issue. But I have heard other parents tell how they were forced by teachers and the schools to have their children put on these drugs. Have any of you had such an experience.

As for Nicholas, he is now in the fourth grade, makes the honor roll most of the time and makes A's and B's in conduct. His problem improved with a little discipline and maturity. There are a number of reasons why he may have been hyper, but he wasn't in need of medication.

If any of you have any such stories I would love to see them and possibly use them in my speech. You can email me at restess42@cs.com.

Talk to you later,
Ruth

Hi Girls:wave:

Ruth, I am a secretary for Social Security Disability/SSI. We get calls all the time from parents that are trying to get their kids on SSI & have their kids on medication. The attorney's I work with feel that the parents & the schools they attend don't want to deal with a child being a child. I work with a paralegal that has a son who is ADHD. She is always fighting with the school. They call her constantly, anytime her son acts up. She took her son off ritalin & the school told her they will put him in special ed if he's not medicated. She refused. I don't know what the outcome was but I will ask her on Monday.

I have a busy day. I have to buy myself a new coat. I have one but I want a leather 3/4 coat. David will be over later to show me all the features on my new computer. My sister bought a computer & he has to hook it up then show her the basics. She is clueless! Poor Guy! He does not know what lies ahead. She has no common sense. I love her anyway.

I was home all day yesterday & went over my points. I'll do better today. This 10 week challenge is harder than I thought but it is a motivator.:D

Till later,

Good Saturday Morning Friends!

Ahhh, another weekend. My house is in need of an ambulance. I've done nothing around here lately, especially since getting back from vacation. I stopped using the cleaning girl I had since she wasn't doing a good job. It's so annoying to come in and have obvious things not done. UGH! So now, I have to do it all and hate it. Which is worse ~ having most of it done and doing the left over things or having to do it all yourself.... :?: :?: Either way, I complain.

I am waiting to get to my WW meeting. I guess I'll pay some bills before I go. :( Not much planned for this weekend other than cleaning around here, doing laundry and getting a new tire for one of the cars. It's for a lease that I am turning in now. My son had a flat and they say it cannot be fixed. I can't turn in a lease with any mismatched tires so, $170 for ONE TIRE!!! I'm not happy. Maybe it won't be suce a great weekend after all.

Es ~ hope you find a nice coat. I've been wanting a 3/4 leather myself but cannot seem to find a nice one. Hope you do.

Ruth ~ Sorry I cannot help ~ my kids never had to have anything like that although my friend Tracy's son has been on Ritalin for many years and she swears by it. He doesn't take it on the weekends, only for when he goes to school. Not knowing much about it myself, I don't understand why he wouldn't take it everyday if he needs it. Good luck with your paper.

Terri ~ are you still alive? 5 boys running around your home??? Whoa........hope you survived. Oh, I have been meaning to ask you, where do you get those wonderful gifs with your name? I am not gifted to be able to 'make' them. Can you post the same one's over again here like we used to?

Hi Sandy, Janie, Jen, Dianne and Donna ~ hope I didn't miss anyone. If I did, tell me. I hate when I forget a name. I'll talk to you's guys later. Wish me luck on my WI......:yikes:

Good saturday mornin' buddies:

Es - Congrats on the new computer. I have a flat screen at work -I love it. Good luck finding the 3/4 leather - willie bought me one for my birthday back in december - we went to Burlington Coat Factory. You must have one of those by you, right? At least at this time of the year, you should be able to get a good sale.

Terri - So cute about Britts changing in the car - not a great idea for Bruce to cover his eyes though:lol: Well, I'm gonna have 3 grandsons today - going to pick 2 up at one place and then over to New Jersey to pick up the other. We'll have them until tomorrow. Ages 12, 13 and 15! Should be fun :s: Enjoy yours!

ZoeGirl - Bummer on the cleaning woman. I had to run around last night after work, straigtening up as much as possible since the 3 grandsons will be staying over tonight. Plus Alana is home this week, so had to at least dust her room and vacumm. We have a leased car too and we're worried about how much it will cost us when its time to turn it in - what with mileage and what have you. Plus willie had to have the side view mirror changed and it cost almost $300!!! I don't know if we'll lease again or not.

Ruth - Sorry I can't help you either. I really don't know much about that subject. I'm sure you could get lots of info on-line though. Glad to hear that Nicholas is doing so well. It seems a lot of people think pills are a cure-all for everything. I know for me, Motrin is my drug of choice, lol!

Jen - How was Jessica's birthday? Did you have the boys?

Hi Donna, Janie, and Sandy - hope you are all doing well. Hope I didn't leave anyone out - I'm prone to doing that sometimes, its called aging and having senior moments!

Well, have a great weekend everyone. Hope I survive (you too Terri) the boys!

Hugs,

Morning ladies,

Well I have a ton of school work to do. Not only do I have a speech to write but I have two projects in my Management class. One of them is for extra points and the other is for a grade, so I'll be busy all weekend.

Hey, (hypothetically) how would go about convincing the upper management of a large company such as GM to invest money and time in building a Human Resources web site for the employees. That is one of my projects. Any ideas?

Well, tomorrow is a solid two weeks that I've been OP on WW. I am very pleased with myself!! AND I have started walking for exercise. I'm keeping my fingers cross that I stick with it this time.

DIANNE, Wow, teenagers. How do you entertain 3 teenage boys?

ES, did you find your new coat? Do you have your computer up and going yet. I bought a flat monitor last year, now I have room to work while sitting at the computer.

Please ask your friend how that went. Email me Monday if you can.

ZOE, let us know how ww meeting goes. You have done so great so far, we are really proud of you.

Well, I better get to work.

Good Morning again ~

My WI went good. I lost 1.2 lbs this week. That makes a total of 41.2 lbs in 6 1/2 months. I thought it would be more. My scale weighed me 2 lbs less but theirs was only 1.2. I bought a new scale today, one that shows 10th's.... .1, .2, .3 and so on. And the body fat. Ruth, is that the kind you got? You program your ht, wt and if you're male or female.....it was $38 in Super Walmart.

Well, just wanted to check in....have a great weekend.

Zoe, congrats on the loss! It is so hard to believe that you have been at this for si months. It doesn't seem like it has been that long.

Yes, that is the type of scale that I bought. Mine can be programed for two people. I've got my hubby programmed into it also. I probably should have went to Super Walmart, I went to Bed Bath and Beyond instead! My old scales were all Health-o-meter, so I bought a different brand this time hoping to get longer use out of it.

Is it nice and warm in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area?

Hi,

I didn't find a coat. I must have tried on about 20 of them. I just didn't like the way they fit. I felt fat.:(

Ruth, I will ask my co-worker about what happened. Her son is 15 now. She said when he really acts up she gives it to him & he does better in school. I hate hearing about it. Just the thought of being on drugs at such a young age. Pete hooked up my computer the same day he bought it. It feels good being OP.;)

Zoe, great job;) I don't know how you're doing it but it's working. This is without exercise right?

Dianne, I'm going to Burlington tomorrow. I went to the Flea Market. They said they're getting more in next week. You & Terri have your hands full this weekend. I haven't babysat in so long. Have fun:D

I will be back tomorrow.

Have a good night:wave:

Hello again ~

Ruth ~ my scale can be programmed for 3 I think. Greg is starting a new 'plan' on Thursday.....(why Thursday? Don't ask ) so I'll program him in there too. The weather here in DFW was fabulous today and yesterday. It was 80 here yesterday 77 today....so I'm loving it.

Es ~ yes, no exercise.....can you believe it? Oh, but I am paying the price for it now....my thighs really need some toning. I am going to go to Bally's Healthclub where I have a lifetime memebership and see if I can get a personal trainer for a few sessions to give me some help with this.

Hi girls,

Zoe, good going on the loss! You are doing so well :D and have really stuck with it. That's difficult to do, I admire your perseverance.

Es, I'm sure you'll find the right coat eventually. I was going to buy a leather this year, but didn't like the way any of them looked on me either. I definitely want to lose quite a bit more before I spend the money on one. Have fun with your new computer; we bought this one back in June and I love it. Joe insisted on the flat screen, and never uses the computer! I won't complain, as Ruth said, it gives more room on the desktop.

Ruth, great job of staying OP for the two weeks! It's a good feeling, isn't it? I love walking, that and some weight toning just about makes up my entire repertoire of exercise!

Terri, how'd the sleepover go? I'll bet they had a blast. How's Bruce doing out west? We purchased our fax/copier/printer a couple of years ago, but had to go out and purchase another better quality (more dpi) printer solely for photo printing..what a pain. I wish we had planned ahead, and foreseen that happening. I love the digital camera we now have...no more photos, developing, or negs!

Dianne, hope your visit with your grandsons is going great; you've got a houseful!

Having a good time with the boys here. Joe took Brandon to see the 2nd Harry Potter movie, and out to dinner. Matt spent the evening emptying the toybox throughout the house :dizzy: He's talking up a storm now, it's a blast to hear him.
Tomorrow we're all going to Olive Garden for Jess's birthday dinner...I always let them chose what they wanted for dinner and I'd make it....now it's so much easier to tell them to pick the restaurant!

This has been a lousy week re: staying OP. Monday is already beckoning me with it's clean slate. I've got a busy week planned, with our St. Pat's dinner party on Saturday, so I'll keep busy and away from food!

Morning,

Well I have already walked this morning. I am feeling pretty confident right now. Of course, I've started this journey more times than I care to remember; I just want it to be permanent this time. Tomorrow is wi and I'm looking forward to seeing a nice loss from last week.

ZOE, the weather here is wonderful. We weren't quite as warm as you yesterday, but it was still nice. Today is beautiful and it felt so good walking in the sunshine this morning.

JEN, I love my digital camera. I now put all the photos I take on a CD. I also love to add them to my screensaver. (I need to redo that) My printer does a nice job of printing the photos, but I want an HP photo printer that will print from the cards. I don't have to change out the ink cartridges as often for regular printing, but I sometimes have to change them because I'm trying to print photos.

Enjoy your Sunday.

Morning, where is everyone, time to raise and shine!!

I lost another 3.8 lbs this week. My overall weight lost the last two weeks is about 6.8. Remember I had the funky scale that said I weighed 178, when I bought the new one last Tuesday I weighed 185. I now weigh 182.2!!!I'm a very HAPPY lady!!

Well, I'll check on the rest of you later. I'm going to walk a mile on the treadmill before I get ready for school.

I CAN DO THIS!!

WEIGH TO GO, RUTH!!! You're doing great :D :cp:

Today I'm beginning to undo the last 2 weeks; they weren't pretty! I've already got 3 waters in, and journalled breakfast. After this I'm planning meals for the week. Being an "all or nothing" type person, I've got to follow the program by the book or I give up on it.

It's so cold this morning, only 4 degrees with wind chills of 10 below. It's supposed to be up near 60 by Saturday, I hope so!

Have a great day :flow1:

Jen, wow, that is cold!! I'm so glad that the weather is warming up here. Unfortunately not as fast as I'd like. Today we are in the 60's, yesterday we were in or near the 70's.

Hang in there with the program. It definitely works, just a matter of putting our mind, heart & soul into it!! Good going on the water, some days I find it hard to get all my water in, others I have no problem. I've already been on the treadmill this morning, actually walked a mile before I got ready for school. I am sooooo determine to see this to the end this time.

Girls, where are you? TERRI, ES, JANIE, DIANNE, ZOE, DONNA, hello to all of you.

Good morning, ladies!

Jen, I can TOTALLY relate to you on the all or nothing mind set because I'm the same way. When I quit smoking it was that way as well. I gave it up totally.. not any of that cutting back stuff. It was all or nothing for me and I succeeded with that, I can do this as well. :rolleyes:They finally got the blood drawn out of me today. I drank 64 ounces of gatorade yesterday as well as almost that much of water. This morning before the test I drank 24 ounces of water. They also laid a very warm cloth on my arm a few minutes before trying the second time and I think that may have helped more than my intake of fluid.

:bravo: Ruth on your loss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so very proud and happy for you!!!!! I think maybe getting that new scale was a turning point for you! This is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Zoe, the weather here today as well as yesterday is gorgeous! :flow1: I hate that it's still so very cold for Jen today!!! The weather sure has lifted my spirits!

Well, hello to Dianne, Janie, Terri, Es, and Sandy! I will talk to you all later!

HI everyone,

Zoe,
COngrats on size 10 that is awesome.

Ruth,
COngrats on the new scale and the terrific weight loss!

Terri,
I hope you survived the sleep over. I know how exhausting that can be!

Dianne,
3 teenage boys. What did you do with them?

DOnna,
You are a true friend. That was so wonderful what you did for your friend and her father!!

Jen,
I am glad you had a nice visit with your family. I hope the weather warms up for you soon. We have been having lovely spring weather but I think we are in for some rain starting tonight.

Es,
DOn't you love the flat screen. I have one at work and it is so nice to have the extra room to work. I also think it is sharper than the crts.

Sandy,
I am so happy to hear that your mother is able to get around on her own. That is truely a blessing!!

I hope I didn't miss anyone! Have a great MOnday eveyone!

Last night guess what happened??? You guessed it... I am now spotting and today I'm cramping really bad so I don't think I can exercise today. I will stay OP though.

I hope you ALL have a good day... Need to take some motrin now... TTFN!

Janie,
It was good to hear from you. I hope you're doing okay, you're in my thoughts and prayers.

Donna,
I gave up smoking in 1992; it was one of the hardest things I've ever done. Losing weight is a different obstacle...can't give up food completely and go "cold turkey"! If only it were that simple, right?

HI  Terri, Es, Dianne, Sandy, Zoe, Ruth

Hi Girls,

Missed you all. The internet at work has been down & even though I have a new computer I haven't been on it much. It interferes with my workout.

I've been doing okay with WW. I haven't been able to keep up with the journaling but I'm trying.

I don't have time to read all the posts but I'll be back tomorrow to catch up.

Have a nice evening.

Hugs,
Es
