Oh Ruth, that's what plows are for hon! Don't hurt yourself!

Sono, I'll be thinking about you today, I hope it shows nothing too!

Well, it's cold and crisp and everyone is off at their destinations. I have some time to ponder how silly I am. I resigned from the board on Saturday only to take up the reins once again last night. Might have been the 2 1/2 hour talking to by our new president. Oh, and I've also gained another title--Vice President. Yep, quit and look what happens. Basically, the reasoning was compelling enough for me to stay. Now I have to put on my kick a$$ boots and do a whole lotta whoopin'!! I'm only in the fray till June and then a new board will be elected, at which time I am OUT! Pretty much the entire exec is quitting at that time too so the problem becomes theirs not ours. And I am free and clear to open my night care business! :) I'm pretty much expecting it to get ugly first and then settle down later.

As for the rest of my day, I am finding as much information and help as I possibly can to arm myself for battle. Thank God for the internet!

Hope you all have a great day! :)

ROFLOLPIMP! May as well! Crying doesn't help!

Gail got here fine by walking throught the deep snow BUT Jerry the plough guy got stuck badly and broke his fanbelt. He is wedged in the lane. Kevin arrived to do some work, tried to help the plough lad and he is now stuck across the end of the lane. Somehow I think I may have two lads for lunch today - tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches to the rescue!

In all the confusion, we got a call from the dentist asking where Harry was! He forgot his 9:15 appointment, not that he'd have been able to get there. It's in the next town and there are no taxis out here.

I think I may buy a horse and sleigh!

The barn door was iced shut. Harry broke in through the old chickenhouse door. He scraped his head and cheek and also tore a big hole in his new Christmas chenille sweater.

I am moving to Florida as soon as I can get out of here!

Good afternoon All!
I can't believe it is Monday again! I am quite sure it was just Friday night and I still have time to get my to do list done. Jacob was at Nanny's so we went out all weekend. I stayed OP for much of the weekend but drank only diet pop and no water.
Just finishing cup #12 today to make up.
I have not finished reading all the weekend posts yet but it sounds like I am not the only one fighting to stay OP. I bought a couple of new things in a smaller size this weekend hoping that they will keep me on track. I can fit into them but breathing may be difficult!!
Off to search the net for someplace to stay on vacation this summer.

Hi everyone,
I can't believe the snow you all are having. Out here in the Pacific Northwest the flowers are in bloom. We do have a very cold wind blowing today tho.

Ya know I said I was going to start adding in carbs? Well I'm not. I Decided not to be a quitter cause quitting only got me fat! Two people at church yesterday told me how slim I was looking!:o That made me feel much better!

Well gotta go backto cleaning house. My 2 yr old just went down for his nap and these minutes are golden minutes to say the least!

Just checking in before the afternoon becomes hectic.

I made some brownies for DH and DD's and some SF butterscotch fluff stuff for me made with heavy whipping cream instead of milk.:smug: Been Op so far today--will have to start a thread for this weeks food-and I am going to aerobics tonight soo...........hopefully getting back on track will be easier than I thought!

I found dome soda today at the store called Waist Watchers it is made with Splenda--they have Vanilla Cream Soda-Black Cherry-Cola-Lemon Twist--I'll try it tonight and let you all know--I still have not been able to find the syrups you guys are talking about-DiVinco's and Toriani--not at the local grocery's here.

Dyan--WTG on the loss!!:cp: I'm glad someone is losing!!

Robin--How you doing today?? drink that water!!!!

see ya gals!

:o Oh Leens, I had forgotten all about Lent! Yikes, does giving up any carbs over 20 grams count? hehe. Probably not. Don't feel bad about the chocolate, a couple of years ago I gave up coffee--I even put my coffee maker up in a cupboard. About a week into it, I bought some instant cappuchino types of coffee and rationalized that since I didn't actually have to use the coffee pot, it didn't count. I did only have one cup a day, though.
Hope everyone has a great afternoon! :flame: Maybe the little flame will help melt the snow, for those of you who have too much!

Mew,
Mom is always right.

Life is busy here, but I like it that way. We are off to NC a week from Friday for 10 dayss, we will paly golf and walk the cool beaches and stay with the MIL and FIL. Then I come home for 2 days and take the just the boys to MN to visit friends. We have the talent show tomorrow for older boy, the night sky project for little man this Friday from 12:30 to 2, and I was just volunteered to data entry for the library book sale and of course I have the auction coming up. On top of that little man is Star of the week next week and I have to make poster boards show casing his short little life. I am also trying to book a mini vacation as an add on to our cruise to Alaska, (thanks mom for the anniversary present), to stay in Vancouver for a few days. The kids have a friend over, karate this afternoon too. I made it to the gym today and after 4 years trying to do WW I had a revolation. if I use my activity points for a treat, i accually do better and work harder at the gym. Humm only 4 years to figure that out!

my pants and cloths seem to be fitting a little better so it must be working. I might step on the scale, but it might ruin my day if it hasn't moved!

OK off to round up the troops.
have a good day chickies, good thought going out to everyone for life to go just as you would like it to.

Just wanted you all to know I made it past my dreaded Day 5. If you remember, I normally GAIN on Day 5 and then keep gaining and then give up around day 7 or so. Then I gain back the pitiful amount I lost and get all discouraged and so goes the cycle.

So today I wake up, Day 5 and have LOST 1lb. WOW....Doing backflips here...

Really a miracle. I've lost 5.5lbs now in 5 days. That's the most I've ever lost. I can attribute it to two things....more fat and protein every day and my doctor changed my medication for insulin resistance. I guess that's it.

He saw me at the beginning of December. Asked me to faithfully work on the low-carb dieting along with the drug. I had been on this drug before (Glucophage XR) and it didn't do a thing, but I was using it while low-fat dieting. I got up to 1500mg a day and it about killed my stomach. So we agreed that I quit taking it. Then he switched me to Avandia and I GAINED 35lbs in 4 months. Still "dieting". AGGGGGG

Like I was really going to do "great" dieting during Christmas. I mean, I didnt' gain, but geez. So anyways, here I am just weeks away from my appointment with him and have GAINED 6lbs since I've seen him.

But here's the kicker. I had some Glucophage XR left over from last time and wanted to use it up. He prescribed me the regular Glucophage this time. When I started to use the REGULAR Glucophage, I started having the side affects that everyone complains of (GI Problems mostly) BUT most importantly, it appears as if I'm losing better on this one!!

So who knows!

We got killed with 6 more inches of snow and are supposed to get snow all week!! YIPPEE!!! It's SO beautiful outside!!

Hopefully everyone is doing better this week!! Keep it up!

Yvonne

So, Yvonne, are you telling me that it could be the Metformine that is preventing me from losing weight? GAAAAAAH! I thought it was the Synthroid.
Anyhow, yesterday you asked me if I was combining Xenical with low carb. No, I tried that the first week and had no success whatsoever. I'm thinking of trying it again but leave out the nuts and whipped cream this time. LOL I've been following the Xenical diet which for me they calculated at 1600 calories and 52 grams of fat daily. No weight loss in three weeks. I do feel a bit thinner though but I'm sure it doesn't show.
I think the only answer for me (that I haven't tried yet) is to try to get in at least one hour of vigorous exercise every day. I've been doing one hour in the pool three times a week for the past few years and obviously, it's not enough. I just REALLY, REALLY, REALLY despise exercise though. How can a person change their basic nature? My nature is to be a sloth.
Feeling really sorry for all you snow bunnies back east. I wouldn't say that I hate snow as much as I hate exercise, but it's right up there. I don't mind all our rain one bit cos I don't have to shovel it.
Ruth, I'm trying to picture your driveway with all these vehicles stuck in it. Your neighbours are going to think you're having a party and didn't invite them. :D

Hey everyone! Sick with the crud still. I don't know why God invented colds, maybe to force us to rest? It's not working, if that's the case! Too much to do and no time to do it in. Boyfriend is making me healthy meals such as pork chops and dirty rice for supper. He just doesn't GET low carb! That's okay, I'll keep him!

Hope ya'll had a great day, and hopefully I'll write more tomorrow. I'm off to bed in just a bit. Talk to you later!

Hey, everyone. Thought I'd pipe up from down here in soggy south Louisiana. Day was so stressful...typical Monday, I guess, but I've got a knot between my shoulder blades that won't quit. I missed my Curves workout because of traffic, so I'm going to work out the kinks by walking around the block a few times. I am trying to control my cravings...cheated with a piece of candy at work in a moment of weakness. But I stopped at one...and got the heck out the there! I think I still might treat myself to strawberries and cream later--I tried it for the first time last night, and it was perfectly awesome! Can't believe I've never tried it before.

Going to watch "My Big Greek Life" before I go walking...that movie was so cute I have to see if they did it justice with the tv show. :)

I just wanted to let everyone know that my dad passed away this morning at about 10:00. We hd to put him in the hospital about noon Saturday, and he died this morning, He really never knew much all that time, and it was just a matter of sitting with him and watching him slowly slip away. Keep us in your prayers and I'll be back when things get back to normal.

It's OK to post twice in one day, right? Want to follow the rules :dizzy:

Linda - Nope, I gained on Avandia. Funny thing, the paperwork says most gain 10lb a year on it. I'm thinking WHY am I on this. Plus, I gained it all right above my belly button and even when I weighed almost 300lbs I've NEVER been lumpy and fat there and am now. I used to wear tighter tops cause that was my best feature (the chest/ab area). Now I'm wearing all this big baggy stuff that I hate!

My friend who was on it, had her cardiologist take her off and said he expects it to be one of the next drugs they take off the market as he's seeing cardiac problems from it! GREAT :(

I too HATE exercise. But when I was thin, I enjoyed rollar skating, swimming and biking. I hope to get to that point again. I have all sorts of physcial problems due to the weight now and my exercise is very minimal.

Justjane How did you like the show? I thought it was cute and was amazed at how many people from the movie were in the show. I think it will take me awhile to get used to not having the same husband though!

Good for you for resisting eating TOO MUCH candy:spin: I unfortunately ate some french fries from Sam's plate at lunch today. I'm at 35 carbs for now and have been eating 30 and under and losing. I have one more meal to eat with him. He's a 2nd shifter and we eat dinner at midnight and go to bed at 3:00am or so. But I bought one of those Rotissiere chicken and a Ceaser Salad kit. I just skip the croutons. YUMMY :chef:

Ageoldie I'm so sorry to hear about your dad, I'll surely remember both you and your family and pray for your peace!

Well, it back to work! Take care all!
Yvonne
