We're two solid weeks down, and onto the healthy third. Let's make the most of it :D

This week was pretty nice, if I do say so myself.

I got in some movement every day. I tracked all my food. I've been keeping up with some healthier changes, and getting in more fruits and veggies than I had been last month.

Tomorrow is the official weigh-in for me, so I'll add that to the spreadsheet then.

Plans for this week include:

- Track
- Daily 15 minutes of movement
- One-day-at-a-time mentality.

Possible struggles... well, my brother and his fiancée are visiting this whole week. I'll have to plan my meals accordingly, and hopefully they won't insist on eating out too much. If they do, then I'll just pick out a healthier choice from the menus ahead of time.

Hope everyone had a great time last week, and plan for continuing greatness this week! :grouphug:

Hi all :)

So I WI at 150 this morning, giving me a 0.2 lbs gain. I'm pretty happy about it though, I spent all week at 151 and it was TOM.

My plans for the week are to make healthy food choices and go running at least 3 times.

Have a good week chickes :)

Well chicks I had a 4.0 gain but I think I had some challenges. I am not making excuses but if I look at it I am ok.
1. Spending week staying with daughter so limited food choices
2. A different scale so I don't really know where I am at
3. Could not exercise for three days (too much walking first day with daughter in bad shoes--extreme blisters)

And to top it off LOL I get home on Tues eve and then leave on Sat for 5 days in HI yikes...At least if I have a true gain I am prepared mentally for it

I showed a big whoosh overnight it seemed from the holidays the night before weigh in, so I was definitely excited about that. I am hoping to see more of a loss for this upcoming week. With today off of work due to Martin Luther King's birthday, I spent some extra time at the gym and am going food shopping in a bit to get my week set up right!

Chele - I used the day off to spend extra time at the gym too.

And I must say I'm proud of myself for actually going to the gym in the first place & I'm really proud of myself for spending an extra 30 minutes on the treadmill. :D

Oh I am so in this week but my challenges are going to be 1) getting back on track & 2) I am hosting a baby shower on Saturday.

My plans for the week are to make healthy food choices and go running at least 3 times.

I love all the running you do, Turbo :) Gets me pumped for movement!

Well chicks I had a gain but I think I had some challenges.

! I don't think you're making excuses. I see the things you've listed as valid reasons. Especially a different scale. That can throw a person completely off. You haven't let it. You walked a ton, and you're still keeping mindful about your food choices.

I showed a big whoosh overnight

Sweet whoosh! I hope you were able to get shopping for good foods :)

I'm really proud of myself for spending an extra 30 minutes on the treadmill. :D

Love it! Now -that's- a productive way to spend a day. :D

Oh I am so in this week but my challenges are going to be 1) getting back on track & 2) I am hosting a baby shower on Saturday.

You can do it  And you're very in charge of what you eat at that baby shower.

---

I updated my weigh-in. Down a little .6 this week, and I'll take it. It's a step in the right direction.

My brother will be showing up later today (too snowy last night for him to make the whole drive!). I'll stay strong for the visit. Gotta continue my movement, and not let a measly restaurant mean "anything goes" for the day.

For those interested, it appears that from Week 1 to Week 2 our group dropped 35 pounds! Hurray! :yay:

Go everyone! Let's keep it up :D Maybe we'll have dropped the weight of a whole person by the end of February. That'd be fun!

*sigh* I don't understand....I'm up .2.....when yesterday I was DOWN 1.2....how do you gain 1.4 overnight!?!?!?!? I did have burger king for lunch yesterday....and more points that normal, but I had 27 points....I get 30 a day....and dinner was 8 points. That's only 5 points above my daily and I had those (and then some) left of my weekly. I know it happens.....and I know next week I could see a "woosh" but.....well, it's not a good start to my day....it's got me in a bad mood :( I thought I did okay during the week....I guess I'll pay closer attention this week.

According to my daughter scale on Monday I was 160.8 and today 155.8 whats up

+4 pounds... didn't realize how easy it is to gain. Just got back from a vacation and my birthday weekend where I thought I could get away with a not tracking. Ate at least 2 meals a day how I normally would (we had a kitchen in our rental) but eating out one night a week and ordering whatever my heart desires really didn't do me any good.
My boyfriend set up my new elliptical Sunday night. I just used it for the first time today. I am definitely going to make it my goal for this challenge to try and use it 5x a week, even if for just ten minutes at a time. Thus far in my WW journey, I haven't been exercising and I was just depending on food choices to lose weight. Now I have to step it up after being at nearly the same weight since thanksgiving.

Congrats to all who have had losses this week! And congrats to those, like myself, who may not have seen losses on the scale but are dedicated to this program!

PS - my best friend is doing weight watchers now. I told her about this site, hopefully she will join soon!

I think I need to start working on not sabotaging myself after WW weigh in on Saturdays!!! haha I usually am lax about eating/not tracking the day after weigh in and I think I have to stop that because no structure Saturday turns into no structure Sunday which (this week since we had it off) turned into no structure Monday. Today I was right back on track though and am up from Saturday's weight, but not too much.

Plus, I went to the dentist this afternoon for my six month cleaning and it turns out that what I thought was just sinus pain that I struggle with all the time is actually an infection. If I can get rid of sinus headaches because of this infection, life will be fantastic ;) LOL

I know it happens.....and I know next week I could see a "woosh" but.....well, it's not a good start to my day....it's got me in a bad mood :( I thought I did okay during the week....

 But, you DID do okay. The scale is not the be-all end-all of what is success.

You might've had the most beautifully perfect week ever in your entire life and -still- have seen a gain on the scale. Celebrate that you ate well. Celebrate that you moved more. Celebrate all the good you're doing for yourself, and celebrate that you won't let one weigh-in keep you down!

Yaaay down a million pounds! Well, 3, but I'll take it!

Congrats on the loss! :D

According to my daughter scale on Monday I was 160.8 and today 155.8 whats up

Oh goodness! Sounds like the scale is crazy... Just keep on with the healthy choices. I'm sure when you get back to your normal scale on a regular basis it'll show the truth.

[...]I am definitely going to make it my goal for this challenge to try and use it 5x a week, even if for just ten minutes at a time.[...]

Awesome job deciding to add in more movement and exercise  You'll definitely be able to do it.

I've found that when I exercise regularly that it helps me make better food choices, and making better food choices makes me want to exercise regularly. It's a good way to keep level.

And good luck to your friend on her journey, too! It's always good to hear about people making healthy changes in their lives.

[...]I think I have to stop that because no structure Saturday turns into no structure Sunday which (this week since we had it off) turned into no structure Monday.

I absolutely hear you on how the "no structure" days can add up. Glad that you were able to pull yourself up and get back to the structure :)

And I hope that you're able to get rid of those sinus headaches!

My brother and his fiancée arrived yesterday afternoon. I do like having them visit from time to time.

Unfortunately, the temptations began immediately upon their arrival. My brother bought me a bag of chocolate. A mini-bag, but a bag none-the-less. I thanked him, but I'll need to hide it or discretely get it away from me. My mother sent them up with snack foods, too.

Then they discussed really wanting pizza and wings last night. *facedesk* Apparently they were really set on having it. So. What I did was I ordered them, and my husband some pizza and wings, and I ordered myself a nicely sized grilled chicken salad.

I ate my salad. They ate all the wings, and most of the pizza. I didn't have any of it. Leftover pizza is still in the fridge, but I'm positive my brother will finish that off today.

I'm very proud of myself. *pats self on back*

Good job avoiding the pizza and wings. "The force is strong in this one" lol.

I don't know if I could have been as strong. I might of had at least one piece of pizza.

I have an old friend visiting this weekend and I'm already stressed about it. I know dinner out has already been planned - but I don't know where so it is a little more difficult to pre-plan. I'm thinking I may eat at home before she gets here and just have a small salad when we go out.

Same dilemma next weekend with a different friend who has already told me she wants me to take her to several restaurants while she's here that she doesn't have out west.

UGH! The next 2 weeks are a going to be a real test. But I guess if I made it through the holidays I can make it through this.

I have an old friend visiting this weekend and I'm already stressed about it.

In a case like that I'd either eat a filling salad beforehand or decide ahead of time to cut whatever I order in half. It's only one meal on one night, so I could handle that without going overboard.

Same dilemma next weekend with a different friend who has already told me she wants me to take her to several restaurants while she's here that she doesn't have out west.

Ugh, indeed! Several restaurants, oy... In this case, I'd figure out which restaurants she wants to eat at ahead of time and then plan, plan, plan.

You can do it! You're in control!

Thanks for the encouraging words lovely! I always get down when I can't explain a gain....I HATE it....I always hate a gain, but it's easier to deal with when I can say "I ate X, Y and Z and shouldn't have". I never know what to do when I gain and can't explain it....I know sometimes it's just what your body does, but i need answers for things. lol I do feel better today though....I was complaining to my husband about it and he told me that he gained too...and he thinks it was the potato soup the night before.....Sure enough, I weighed myself this morning and am down nearly a pound from yesterday. Now I know....No potato the night before weigh in! :) And next week should look good...I'll keep this off and loose more! :)

Lovely, YAY GURL for resisting the wings! ...especially the wings. Those naughty little things are so easy to eat, like ''I'm just having one... maybe just another one... and another one...'' good job!!!

katrat, I get how you feel. It's always frustrating not being able to explain a gain... I guess sometimes the body is just acting a little weird. keep up the good work, it will pay off one day

So today it's freaking cold and windy and I'm annoyed cause I really wanted to go running.. I haven't been running since saturday because I was a subject in a clinical research project and wasn't allowed to do sport. I'm back to my normal routine today though. I learned a lot of interesting things about my body yesteday cause they studied how is my glucose metabolism and they said it is like really over the top awesome. I wasn't allowed to eat much yesterday too during the project, so today I'm like 2 pounds down. Let's see if I maintain that for the rest of the week!

I am in the middle of week two of WW! My first week I went down 4.3 pounds! Yesterday I maintained my loss, and jumped on my scale this morning and was up over 5 pounds!!! :?: I am thinking I need to double check my batteries. I have been staying on track with tracking and measurements, so I do not know how to explain the 5 pound increase. Luckily I weigh in on Sunday mornings so I am hoping that whever the issue it is I can correct it in the next 4 days! ;) I am motivated to not let this deter me from the goal!

Well I am back home and it is so cold and snowing like crazy. So another day without the gym and I can't even go walking. So I am going to try and get my dvd to work and do a workout that way. I did weigh myself on my regular scale and it shows I am about the same as my weigh in Monday so yes I did gain a bit this past week but I expected it even though I did a lot of walking. I will have another chellenge starting Sat when I fly to HI for 5 days but I hope to get in a ton of walking or at least playing in the water.

It sounds like everyone has a good handle on the week so yeah for us chicks!

Hey Nancy....can you do me a favor and send some of that show out to the East Coast????? I haven't seen the first flake this year :( Everytime there's a chance of precipitation it's warmed back up to the high 40s or even in the 60s! *sniff*

NSV today!!! :) I ran into a coworker from the school I was at last year today. Haven't spoken to her since June so she didn't know about my weight loss journey...The first thing she said was "You're looking good! Have you lost weight!?!?!?" and the lady behind her heard me telling her yes that I've lost almost 17 pounds since October. When she left the lady (a random stranger) smiled at me and said "congratulations on your weight loss!!" :)

Hi all,

This has been a hard week..with my gain last week and now this week..I have been over eating a bit. More points than I should. I'm feeling discouraged. It is getting harder to track food. I'm still doing it..but man of man , I don't feel like it anymore..:?:

I really do want to keep at it, get to my goals.. I fear another weight gain again this week..Plus I study full-time, single parent two kids under 6 yrs...so ya I just wanna order pizza and wings myself and go crazy eating..:p

I really don't want to quit and fall back to my old life of super eating.. It's almost like the fact that I'm close to my first major personal goal of getting to 230 (and leaving morbid obesity) that my brain just wants to keep me at the morbid obese level or something..like there's a pull to stay the same..sounds crazy..Or its my own fear of being thinner.. I don't know..
I really appreciate your encouragement and kind words..

I hope to be a help to someone out there in 3FC cyber space. Good luck with your weigh -ins everyone.

Wish I could send you some...but I must say the ice that we have today is really aweful...can't even get out but on the bright side the neighborhood kids built a cool snow man who is in the center of the cul-d-sac complete with hat, scarf, mittins and safty vest so no one runs into him :carrot:

I am in the middle of week two of WW! My first week I went down 4.3 pounds!

:welcome: So glad to have you join us! Sometimes the scales can be weird. Are you using only one scale, and making sure to weigh the same time in the same clothing? I know that even if I wait to weigh myself until after breakfast that I jump up a few pounds on the scale. So I always weigh myself first thing in the morning, same scale, same tile on the floor.

Whatever it happens to be, I'm glad you're not letting this little blip of a situation deter you. Perseverance is the key! Focus on your successes. Tracking, measuring, paying attention to the food you eat... these are all true successes.

I may be doing it wrong but I added my current (starting weight) to the tracker.

:welcome: to the Challenge!

I'm thrilled to see that new people are joining us on our quest to drop some pounds and become healthier. To accommodate everyone I've updated the Spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aq2TB6U1H_epdGJ0aWh2eW1JMXc3R3Y3d0dnZnE2M Xc#gid=1), and added a few more rows.

For those just joining, add in your start weight under the starting column, your goal weight in the goal weight column, and simply post your weekly weigh-in under the current week's column and the spreadsheet does the rest of the calculating. I'll update any in-between weeks as I see them so it all looks neat and pretty.

Lovely, YAY GURL for resisting the wings! ...especially the wings.

Oh, I hear ya... I can't stop at just one. They're so very delicious, but I also have the bad habit of needing them smothered in bleu cheese dressing when I eat them. So it's double the bad when I do!

I will have another chellenge starting Sat when I fly to HI for 5 days but I hope to get in a ton of walking or at least playing in the water.

Have a great time in HI, and make sure to get lots of time in the water :D

LOVE IT! It's so fun to have others notice that our efforts are paying off :D

I really do want to keep at it, get to my goals.. I fear another weight gain again this week..Plus I study full-time, single parent two kids under 6 yrs...so ya I just wanna order pizza and wings myself and go crazy eating..

 You. Can. Do. This.

Not every week feels great. Not every day feels like a perfect fit. It's all about continuing forward. One day at a time. One foot in front of the other.

There are going to be days when it doesn't all align, but the mere fact that you're paying attention... the fact that you're here, you're aiming for healthier, you're NOT giving up. Be proud of those things. Take a deep breath. Take a moment for yourself. And decide to continue, regardless of the obstacles.

You're worth this.

---

My week marches forward. I woke up this morning to find half a cheesecake sitting in my fridge. *facepalm* I love my brother and his fiancée, but do they have to put crap foods in my fridge? Also, my brother has taken a liking to my Greek Yogurts... so they're almost gone *sniffles* At least he's eating something healthy while he's here.

However, the leftover pizza is now gone! Now to wait for those slices of cheesecake to disappear. Then I will be rid of the foods I don't want in my home.

*calms* They're here until tomorrow evening. We already planned tacos for tonight, and I'll be cooking so that won't be bad.

On the plus side, I've taken my walks while they've been here, and I've continued to track and haven't used their visit as an excuse to eat nonsense that I don't need.

Keep positive and keep strong, everyone :D

Wishing everyone a great on plan weekend!

You too, Lovely :)

Haven't posted much this week, I've been super busy, but I came everyday to read everything people posted on the forum thread! It helped me so much to stau motivated :)

We're dining out tonight for a friend's birthday and I'm really focus on making a healthy choice tonight :)

I also went shopping with the boyfriend yesteday and I'm super excited, I bought a yoga mat! (yeah I know, I don't need much to be all excited LOL) I really wanted one for a long time to do abs training at home, I just haaate it went my back bones just roll on the floor lol. And the mat is purple. What more can I ask for!

So it might sounds stupid but I was suuuuper motivated to do my muscle training this morning because of that... I've been lacking sooo much motivation to do that... I feel I should really start to do that seriously, I need to tone those muscles! The boyfriend also bought something, you know the elastic thingy with andles so you can pull on that and do arms training? We're thrilled because we don't have the budget to get dumbells right now.

So Have a good weekend everyone, I'm off to train those biceps ;)

Lovely

Turbo - Good luck with those healthy choices at the birthday dinner :D And, hey, I was excited when I got a yoga mat! Those things are cushy and wonderful ^_^ Have fun with your strength training!

--

I missed my walk yesterday :o BUT! I immediately got up this morning and got on the treadmill.

There's still cheesecake in my fridge. I know that my husband doesn't need to eat it, but I've been trying to mention that if it's not gone soon I really will just have to throw it away. I can only say "no" so much to one of my trigger foods, ya know?

Make today an awesome day, everyone :)

Lovely : omg. cheesecake. Like my favorite dessert ever. Throwing stuff away, even if I don't like to waste food, is sometime the only solution I have too to make sure I won't eat the food ;) And good job on the threadmill. you're so lucky to have one!! :)

Leelee : awesome lost :D great job!

****

We ate out last night for a friend's birthday party an had a blast :) Food talking, I made good (no appetizer, shared dessert with the bf and let him ate the most of it) but also bad (chosing some pasta and drinking tooo much wine) choices. We went dancing after though, so I'm pretty sure my MC Hammer mooves burned a couple calories here & there ;)

I went for an hardcore run today (8k and some majoooor hills), so the 550 calories burned there are kinda helping me to not feel so bad about myself for tomorrow.

I hope everyone is having a thrilling weekend :) Let's make this next week a greeeeeat week!! :D
