I made an appointment with my endocrinologist last month to discuss why my Metformin was making me so sick. She was treating me for confirmed insulin resistance and PCOS, and the Metformin had really been helping me keep my blood sugar under control during the year I'd been taking it. Well, she ordered a glucose tolerance test to evaluate my insulin resistance levels. I got a call today, and it turns out that the Metformin had been making me sick because my insulin levels are fine. I'm not insulin resistant anymore! :carrot: This is so exciting to me because I don't have to take Metformin, and I have reduced my risk of getting diabetes by a whole lot. My weight loss might make me feel good, but it's nothing compared to the knowledge that it's helping my health.

A note to the mods: I wasn't sure if this belonged on the PCOS/Insulin Resistance forum or on the mini-goal forum. If it's in the wrong place, my apologies and please move it :D

That is awesome!!! And a reminder that while the scale may not always be moving as quickly as we'd like we'll end up healthier for the journey!

Thanks, ladies! I agree wholeheartedly, Sunshine! While my pounds might not be leaving as fast as I'd like, it's nice to know that my efforts are still helping me get healther.
