Default Thankyou everyone! Hello, Update and fat burner chat!

Hi Girls! (and guys!!)

My resolution is going well and I can thank this forum for inspiration! I just thought I'd give an update For the last 2 weeks and have lost about 5-6 pounds so far since New Years day!

I do believe this is healthy rate of weight loss, as I am aware that this will be mainly water weight, but I am happy taking a slow and steady route. I already feel tonnes better, I feel more alert (I always used to sleep through the day, feel tired and couldnt concentrate) my skin feels softer, my skin on my face is clearing up (I used to have small bumps on my cheeks)

... and I put it all down to my improved diet

Old diet:
  • No breakfast
  • Two LARGE dominos pepperoni pizzas, which I would eat over 2 days and nothing else.
  • Pasta (2-3 portions in one)
  • Full fat coke all day.
  • One meal per day, then at work (5-8) I would eat 2-3 chocolate bars or sweets for energy!
  • NO veg. Occasional fruit

Awful isnt it??? Well Its all changed!

Things I've changed :
  • I drink alot of water, I try to hit the 8 glasses each day
  • I have cut out all junk food, pizza, pasta, chips, which were all diet staples!
  • I am eating more 'natural' carbs such as cous cous and cut out all processed carbs (eg bread)
  • I have upped my protien intake, I eat alot more meat and eggs, whereas it was usually 'too much hassle' to bother to wait for meat to cook.
  • I have protien shakes after the gym, after doing weights or cardio (as my strength is awful, I can barely lift any weights! I feel this helps my muscle recovery, and also is quick and easy )
  • I am going to spin class 2-3 times a week, It hurts but feels so satisfying! 2 days a week I will aim to burn 400 calories on interval training on the cross trainer, and walking fast at an incline on the treadmill)
  • I am actually sweating at the gym, no more lesuirely walks on the treadmill!
  • I dont eat/binge late at night after work, no heavy meals after 8pm
  • Eating more often rather than once per day!

So heres my new question, who has tried fat burners? I realise they may be placebo but I am on on Thermo Grenade Detonator fat burner.

On reccommendation from my boyfriend who heard it is good. Its mainly popular amongst boys but I'm not the swayed by the packaging!

It has green tea extract and I take one in the morning and one in the afternoon, If i'm working out ill take two before working out (I wont exceed 3 per day) I do feel a noticeable increase in energy!

I cant link to this as I dont have enough posts but feel free to google it.

Any thoughts are welcomed! I have heard that they only work for when one is already a low body fat? Any sucess stories?

Tina, welcome, glad to have you join us. I suggest you look for a Challenge or Support group to join; small check-in groups make it easier to connect, get involved, and be accountable. We have groups centering around specific diets, themes, or age groups, find one that inspires you and just post to join! No idea about the 'fat burners'.

I don't believe in fat burners from legal supplements...

If you want to get ripped, stop eating carbs in the evenings and at night (and you already follow that) Stay to a pure protein diet that has no fat etc in it..

depending how much liquid your holding, you will soon start seeing shredded muscle tissue under yor skin in no time..

I dont really want to be ripped just a little more toned and less 'smushy'

I do want to see some ab definition and get rid of the bingo wings! I would like to get my strength up from more than that of a baby, I cant do the plank for more than about 5 seconds. I'm working on it!!

I have dropped alot of water weight. Its nice seeing results but I'm sure most of it is water weight - I feel considerably less bloated! x
