Hi Flower

Are you under a lot of stress? I find that even at 42, if I stress out, my face shows it.

Grif's hospital stay was a bit stressful but not more than usual. I am a pro at hospitals. Actually I was stressed about my sisters visit that I ended up canceling because Grif got sick. But that was so last week! Don't punish me now with blemishes! When I was younger I would get hives, not zits!!!

My skin was actually tons better when I was 15, lol. I started having problems with my skin in my early 20's... I'm almost 32 right now & it's horrible. I used to get so angry at my friends who'd come home from a night out and go to bed without washing the make-up off & never broke out, or people who cry about getting A zit every month.

I've gone through just about every acne treatment, most were too harsh for me & would end up burning my skin or making it crack & bleed (can't decide if that is lovlier than the huge zits, lol). Last year I went on a 6-month regimen of Accutane... it was AMAZING. Suddenly, I wasn't using facial blotting tissues 5x a day, and I even go a day without showering & my hair didn't look like a grease-pit, hehe. And, my skin cleared up completely, it was beautiful! Since then, I've gone off the pill & started losing weight, so my skin is suffering again. My dermatologist gave me lotions to try (she said people usually respond better to these meds after going on Accutane) - if this doesn't work, I can go on another round of Accutane, which "does the trick" for a large majority of people.

Anywho - kind of a long winded response - but just to let you know, it's NOT unusual and it is treatable (and mine was totally covered by insurance cause it was so bad, and it hurt!) and it's more about genetics & hormones than what you eat.

Remember with any skin regimine it takes 21 days for your skin to adjust. My skin is way worse at 30 than it even was in highschool or my 20's. I use to get compliments for my skin. Now I get zits random places I didn't even know you could. But I react alot better and think I do a better job of not drawing too much attention to them. Hormones suck and so do bacteria.

Hehe, the worst are the ones right under your nose, in that little valley that leads to your lips (what is that called? I know I've heard that somewhere before!) - it's sooooo conspicuous and it's pretty darn sensitive there!

Yup it sucks! I'm 35 and still get zits. My best GF is 42 and still gets zits!

I currently have 2 on my chin and 2 little ones over one eyebrow. I have found that rubbing a little tea tree oil on a zit before going to bed at night will help get rid of it faster.

White toothpaste on the zit overnight seems to help make them go away faster...I don't know why "white" only (Colgate is the only one that comes to mind) It drys them our or smothers them or something.

Of course, it doesn't look too hot, but what's more important? Looking good while you sleep or in the light of day?
