Default Questions about salt

Day 4 and I'm doing all right. I've been adding a bit of sea salt to each of my drinks (makes them taste not so artificial). Is this all right to do? I know we're so supposed to get a 1/2 tsp salt each day, but does anyone know what the total sodium minimum and maximum is?

Also, why sea salt and not regular table salt? (Just curious - I like the sea salt better anyway).

My coach told me that the sea salt had some trace minerals and things that we were no longer getting in our diet which is why we had to use that instead of regular salt.

I don't know if there is a maximum, I know that salt in the drinks is okay, because my coach told me to add it to whatever I could to get it in. Personally I really like salt so it was never a problem, I've never measured it but unless you start retaining water badly I probably wouldn't worry about it.

Great, thanks for the info! I'm really loving the salt in my chocolate drinks/puddings (I used to eat Lindt dark chocolate w/sea salt, so this satisfies that craving).
