Ideal Protein Diet - Okay to eat 1/2 eggs and 1/2 drink?

This morning was my husband's and my first day on IP (well, IP alternatives). Instead of just eating scrambled egg whites like we had planned, we split a serving of egg whites and a serving of PureProtein RTD. Is this okay to do? I figured it was, but wondering what others do.

I was told our bodies need the cholesterol from the eggs and I should eat the whole egg. At 7 weeks my cholesterol dropped by 100 points...I eat tons of scrambled eggs (not just the whites)...but sorry I can't answer your initial question. :) Maggie

I also eat quite a bit of scrambled eggs... especially for dinner!

Sure it is ok, you are still getting ONE serving of protein.

Jelly, you are awesome, can't wait to see how you do this week ")

Sure, if each serving was about 2.5 egg whites. Total should probably = 18 g protein. AND THE VERY BEST OF LUCK TO BOTH OF YOU. It must be so nice doing this together.

What do you do to make them exciting? Typically I add hot sauce and onion powder...and I now eat 4 scrambled instead of 3 due to my "muscle" loss... It's getting hard without my beloved cheese!!! :)

I sometimes add cheese... since I dont ever have my 1oz of milk. Then I top it off with some salsa.

Hmmm. I have a really strict coach. I asked if I could sub cheese for the milk because I don't use it and she said no. I was thinking last night of making a homemade salsa for my eggs...I'll have to do that sooner than later!!! TY!

I love Salsa on my eggs. I also found an IP friendly "Land o Lakes" Sharp Cheddar sprinkle (powder) that is 0/0/0, it adds a true cheese flavor, have to say it caught me by surprise. I also add garlic, mushrooms, red/green/orange/yellow peppers and of course, a little Texas Pete!

Wuv said that you can add the vegetarian cheese, found with the veggies. I have not tried it yet.

Its with the spices, there is cheddar cheese, sour cream and onions and a few others. Look it up on the Land o lakes site so you can see what you are looking for :)

I noticed on the Land o Lakes site the serving size for the Cheddar Sprinkles is only 1/2 teaspoon. That really isn't very much. I just wonder if they made the serving size that small because if they had made it even 1 teaspoon it would have not allowed them to show calories/fat/carbs etc as 0?

The Molly Mcbutter Cheese Sprinkles has 1 teaspoon as the serving size and then shows 5 calories and 1g carb.

Just makes a person think...

Honestly, I don't measure it, I just sprinkle it for a little flavoring. Sometimes I am sure I use more than a "serving" but that is usually the only "extra" I will use in that day. I mean I don't use the whole bottle of it .....lol....This is what works for me though, everyone is different :)

Wuv,

that stuff is great and it is very flavorful, so 1/2t is more than enough for me, love it on broccoli. To the person hunting it down, it is sold in grocery stores and in Wal-Mart.

My back is killing me, too much cleaning the last few days, but man does the house look nice :)

I am not "cleaning" my house until Brandon leaves to go back to college. I just pick it up for now, my living room looks like a college dorm right now since that is where he lives when he is here. He did clean it up because he had friends over New Year's eve so lets see if he will keep it that way til Friday when he leaves!

Spring come early to upstate New York? I have no idea how in the world you can be restarting and focused at the same time?! Cleaning? I'd be afraid of putting the cat in the dishwasher and throwing the dog out with the garbage.
