Hi,
I don't do weight watchers, but am interested in the point system. I am on a 1200-1400 caloried diet. (have lost 35 pounds) I would like to alternate my calories kind of like they do on the Wendy plan. But first I need to know, how many calories is a point worth??
Thanks
Nancy:)

It is not a standard amount. It is computed from calories, fat grams and fiber grams.

Hi,
Several people have told me that 1 point is equal to 50 calories? Yes? No?

50 calories per point is a good average to use however it depends on the fat and fiber of the food also.

1 point can be as low as 30 cal or as high as 74 cal without any fat or fiber considered.

This chart was based on the older points system (1-2-3 Success) as winning points took 2 points off the high end.

Point Range (123 Success Points) Converted to Calories
(This isn't always 100% true because of fiber)

18-25 points = 1050-1400 calories
20-27 points = 1150-1500 calories
22-29 points = 1250-1600 calories
24-31 points = 1350-1700 calories
26-33 points = 1450-1800 calories
28-35 points = 1550-1900 calories

But this does not include the additional 250 calories W/W incorporates in for free veggies and 'freebies' such as that one serving of Fat Free Cool Whip.
