O.K. Here's the next segment of 10 days in the lifeboat.

Remember this is not a "challenge" but a place for accountability to ourselves and support.

So what is your plan for this 10 day segment?

Hugs,
Ratkity

Notify the mall authorities, the parents have landed in my local vicinity!

I need 10 or more life preservers and a pallet of floofy towels. It's going to be a long 4 days.

Hope everyone else is staying dry.

Hugs,
Ratkity

Thanks for starting this segment. It really helps me to have a place where I can come to and be accountable.

Glad to be of service! :)

It wasn't a bad day. 8.5 hrs of shopping and going out to eat 2x in one day. Got protein in and had no room for carbs.

Doing it again tomorrow. I don't feel as apprehensive as I did earlier today!

Hugs,
Ratkity

Hoping for another dry week in the boat. Hope to stay on my WW plan for the next 10 days. Toughest 10 days of the tear. Boat's staying dry. I've got towels fresh from the dryer and flare guns and life preservers ready if anyone needs them.

Hang in there Rat.

I not only fell out of the boat , I sank to the bottom of the ocean.I am miserable, heart burn and bloated. Water today and sensible choices! Sweets are gone!

Hang in there dgramie! I'm going through the same thing, bloating and heartburn and everything. Oy, the Christmas food was worse than I anticipated.

I know I'm late for this 10 days, but starting today my goal is to get back on track with calories. If I can manage exercise I'll do it, but fatigue from this virus is lingering so exercise isn't an official goal of mine this time.

Hiya all!

Stranded, I still have a nagging cough from the horrid cold that hit me 4 weeks ago. It's sending me to bed at 9pm and I don't get up until 8am. I'm exhausted. Take care of yourself and listen to your body!! I'm doing my best to do the same.

Dgram, I gotcha! Crawl back in the boat. We have warm floofy towels. I think I even have some Tums for you to gnaw on.

I'm hanging in there, but did polish off a small bag of cream caramels from BassPro shop. On a good note, I got some warm floofy socks there!! I think I made it to my sister's place in record time to get my parents to drive BACK to my place and go to church. No lightning strikes and I think I had some angels watching over me (if anyone knows the DC metro beltway traffic, you'll understand).

Stay dry all!

Hugs,
Ratkity

Hey, ladies, I'm with you for this 10 days. (Today is day 4, yes?)

I've been OP since the 23rd, even with invitations from friends for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. (Luckily, these are healthy friends! I brought dessert, but a few bites each day fit into my plan, and since I provided it I knew what kind of calories we were talking about.)

My plan is just to keep to 1900 calories or less and to get at least 20 minutes of exercise, which can (for these 10 days) include de-cluttering. I need to add other components, but they'll come in another 10 day period. I lost all discipline during fall semester, so I need to ease back into accountability.

Ratkitty, I'm glad you have some floofy towels.

Debby, how did today go?

Waves lapped at the edge of the boat yesterday. I got a bit damp. Back on track today. Don't think I need a life preserver.

Good goin' Angela!

I'm back! The Dec. 24th - Dec. 26th put the scale up 2 lbs. - well the food consumed did it! Truly I kind of jumped in the water I think. But I have pulled myself back into the boat, am wrapped in a fluffy towel and ready to go.

Today finally back OP with calories. No exercise yet, but I'm not going to push it because I don't want a virus relapse.

I'm back from the cruise - boy do I need the lifeboat - it's pretty bad when you're craving a grilled chicken salad.

Floofy towels all around!!!

Holidaze are hard. The Parents got home safely last night. They will spend today recovering (they are in their 80s - they took the train to DC). I spent yesterday catching up on chores.

I wanted to eat the paint off the walls cuz I was so hungry after they left. I stayed dry by fixing high high protein stuff. I finally took a bath and went to bed.

Back to work today. Hope the carb hungry monster isn't still plaguing me.

Hugs,
Ratkity

TOM has the scales reading high, but I'm OP, as far as this really mild version of OP goes.

Ratkity, hope that carb monster leaves you alone. Try wearing a wreath of garlic around your neck, maybe?

Carol, welcome back... is grilled chicken on the menu for later?

Stranded, good job, hope you keep feeling better.

Debby, Vicki, Judy, hope you're staying high and dry.

Welcome back GGG!!! We saved a seat in the lifeboat for you.

Vortex, ugh.. TOM is next week for me. He plays the same game with the scales. Hang in there. It's an illusion!!

Stranded, I'm starting to shake this cough. Hope you are doing better too.

Dgram.. hold on! We won't let you go.

j-ann, grab gramie with me!

How you doing vicki?

Thanks for saving my seat Rat - I can always count on you!

Much better day yesterday - not POP but a good start. Didn't graze all day like I had been.

Angela - yep - grilled chicken salad - tasted so good.

What day is this?

Tis day 7!

I got a little wet last night, but dried off and fixed a high protein egg blob and even sauteed a few pieces of red and green pepper and onions to put on it with a piece of provolone. Protein goodness! No constant evening snacking last night either.

low calories yesterday due to this head mess. Scales are going down. Dr said my bp is causing some of this weight. My blood pressure was way high due to me trying over the counter meds. Im on a water pill for a week along with reg bp meds.
meals are planned for the weekend.

Was dry last night due to the lack of food in the house.

Oh noes GGG!!! Not the ebola cold! I still have a little hacking cough from that thing. Some hot tea always makes me feel better. Chose a black or an herbal tea. The green teas can be too much when you don't feel well (well, my chinese friend said it was true LOL).

Dgram, don't mess around with high BP. I'm glad you are seeing a doc and getting meds now. My dad's father had 14 brothers and sisters and they all died before the age of 45 because of complications from high BP. Dad exercises and is a normal body weight, so his BP is low. He's 81 now, btw. Keep on top of that stuff! You are too valuable in the lifeboat!

Hope everyone else is doing their best to stay dry. Warm floofy towels are here and ready.

This coming year in the lifeboat is about my health!

Hugs to all,
Ratkity

Here I am! I have not been around for a few days - celebrations have continued which means my feet have been getting wet. The 28th was hubby's 50th birthday which meant dinner out. Good news is I am maintaining my weight and have not gone up. Need to get back on track and get back to the gym.

Rat- thanks for the concern. I have had high blood pressure since turning 42. Everyone in my family has it even those who are tiny. I have mine under control really well until I took some over the counter cold meds. I knew better but thought I would be ok. Guess I will know from now on to just call the dr and get seen and not try and fight it on my own. Its already coming down now that the sinus meds are wearing off.

Ratkitten
12-30-2011, 05:19 PM
Ohhhhhhh gramie, cold meds. Oiy, they can mess up BP stuff, can't they? Glad you and the family are doing well with the bp stuff. I hope the cold is getting better though. That thing is going around and knocking people out left and right.

Vickie, glad you are here and hanging on. Celebrations are always gonna happen during the year. My goal is to just hang onto the boat during those times.

Doing well today. So far.

Ratkity

Dry yesterday - waves to dodge today - we are finally having our family Christmas.

Go for the protein stuff, GGG!!! Eat the sausage or ham out of the biscuit, munch on cheese wedges and fore-go the cracker. Even a cup real soda has one third less calories than eggnog. Grab your fav foods and nom them with utter enjoyment - leave the rest. You can do this.

Good to see ya j-ann. Lots of towels here.

Hope everyone celebrates the New Year safely and reasonably dry.

I feel soggy.......I have been treading water beside the boat. The good news is my weight just keep going up and down a few lbs. - nothing that can't be lost in a few days if I put my mind to it.

Today is the last holiday and we are going out to the in-laws for dinner so no leftovers. I have rid the house of all baked goods and candies and am motivated to move forward.

If someone could help me in the boat and wrap me in a towel I'd appreciate it :o.
