Do we have to take the vitamins that are supplied??? I am ok with the calcium, but am having trouble with the multi vit. I would prefer to take my own multi vitamin. Also has anyone had any issues with muscle cramping??

Good morning everyone. I too really dislike that multi vit but the coach and chiropractor managing of course said it was a non negotiable. Interested to hear from others. WI 3 today for me!

My coach and the Dr. (coach's husband) were fine with me taking my regular multi as long as it met the same basic criteria.

I use alternatives only, since I can't afford a coach right now. I use the Once A Day multivitamin for women and it's been fine. I don't know what the multi vit from IP is like. All my supplements come from Walmart, and I don't have any issues with muscle cramps and the like. I take the multi, calcium, magnesium, potassium, fish oil (omega 3), and probiotic enzymes.

Sadly my WI today had a 0 loss. But that's ok! Last week I was -6 lbs, so I am NOT complaining! Plus, I fit into my size 18 jeans (well, they're probably stretched to a size 20) that I've been eyeing in the closet. I was very happy about that, since I was wearing a size 24 just 6 weeks ago! And I tried on a new XL t-shirt last night to see how snug it was and my husband nearly jumped me then and there! LOL It's a little tight for what I like to wear, but I'll certainly wear it for him on our date on Friday. :o I'm so close to shopping in the "regular" size clothes section... I'm chomping at the bit!

Have a great OP day everyone! I've got my wrapping to do, which will be challenging, because my 5 yo wants to tell everyone what their presents are. Not sure how to get it done with her there, and not sure I can get rid of her for a few hours. lol

Hi. I am new here. I began the Monday after Thanksgiving and I asked about the supplements right away. My coach said that they like for us to use them the first month to get started but after that we can decide on our own if we want to use them or what we used before (such as a good multi-vitamin). I haven't had a problem with these but I will most likely go back to my own vitamin when I am through with these.
PS. I love all the help everyone provides on here!

This diet definitely teaches you to be a label reader. If you can find a good vitamin that meets or exceeds the values that are provided in the IP vitamins, by all means, do what is more convenient and cheaper.

So, this morning is starting out pretty nasty, weather wise. One of the neighbors feed buckets just blew across my yard and hit the side of my metal shed. Scared me half to death! Sounded much more ominous than it was, lol! Today is my first day of maintenance until after the new year when I jump back on for my yearly reboot. I solved the problem with my home scale, so will be keeping track of my weight at home. I bought a new outfit the other night. The shirt is a lightweight sleeveless sweater with sorta wide horizontal stripes (gasp! never thought I would be buying that!). The colors are winter white, black, and a light pretty greenish blue. I bought some black jeans to go with it. The only black jeans I could find had some minimal sparkly stuff on the back pockets. I told my husband I would have a blingy butt for Christmas. Not sure how I feel about all the bling on the pockets of jeans these days, but I sure felt good buying them in a size 8!

I feel ya on the weather!! It is windy, rainy and now getting cold. Tornado watches all around us! And WTG with the size 8's!! I would go completely bedazzled if I was in a size 8!! LOL!! Have a Merry Christmas, bling and all!! :D

Going for my WI this afternoon. Hopefully this bad weather will be over by the time I have to leave. Then tonight the baking starts. Going to make gingerbread houses with my kids and also bake some cookies and make fudge and pralines for my grandmother. She is in an assisted living home and tomorrow is her birthday. She LOVES candy and has no medical reasons not to enjoy some so I'm going to make her a care package of goodies.

Wishing everyone a great OP day!!

Still feeling under the weather. Just staying home resting. I miss work and walking everyday. But a break is nice. My chicken soup was awesome, I have enough for today, even my bf eats it and likes it :) I do my official/personal WI Friday morning. I like morning WI better. I usually weigh in Tuesdays in the evening. No treats in my house so that's easy. Saturday to the in-laws and Sunday my side of the family. Then it`s over :) I am hopeing to start the new year in phase 2. :)

Hello there,

I see that we started at the same weight and we are almost at the same weight now and we have almost the same height . I am a little bit surprised that you are wearing a size 18 to 20 now! Because I used to wear that when I was at 250 and when I was about 210 I tried a 14 and it fitted me quite well.

The reason I am telling you this is that you might be a size or a couple of sizes smaller than what you think you are :) It so totally happened to me to think that I was still a bigger size when actually I was not, it is just in our head it is hard to aknowledge the physical weight loss we've gone through. I hope you'll have some time to pamper yourself during the holidays and go shop to see if you fit in a smaller size (cause I imagine that you do :)

Good luck and keep us posted :)

Hi. My name is Janelle. I've been doing IP since 12/10. At my first WI I had lost 6.75 lbs. 7.8 inches. I WI again tomorrow. I'm just learning the ropes around the forum, but I've learned a lot. What a great, welcoming community. :) Looking forwarding to gaining new friends and losing more pounds! :)

Good morning everyone! It is so inspiring to read all the posts. In my initial consultation with my coach, we discussed the pros and cons of waiting until after the holidays to start the program. I decided to wait. My first appointment will be on January 2nd. I am very excited! Until then, I will continue to read and be with you all. My best wishes for continued OP success and a pleasant, happy and peaceful holiday season!

Happy Thursday everyone!

Just checking in. I've been so busy this week I haven't stopped by to do much more than read the daily posts. Week three weigh-in, though, was down three pounds! Makes me feel better about not losing anything in week 2, but I'm still not sure how much patience I'll have if my average settles out to 1.5 pounds a week. Clearly I'm just more of a pessimist than I realized. Or maybe I just can't believe it will actually work.

Anyway, I know a lot of people mentioned weird, vivid dreams and I've definitely been having my share. Only some of them are food related, but most of them are noticeably more memorable than before. Yesterday was the weirdest, though. Somehow, in my dream, I heard a doorbell and I was just on the edge enough to wake up and not be entirely sure if it was in the dream or for real. Couldn't figure out why anyone would ring the doorbell at 7am, but I started thinking how burglars might ring the doorbell and then break in if nobody answered. Of course, then I started hearing noises and ended up having to get up to make sure nobody really was breaking in. I felt silly when it was all quiet, of course, but it's amazing what my brain can get up to when it's left to its own devices, and fueled by the diet, or whatever makes these dreams so real.

Okay, sharing through - back to the real world of work and holiday preparation. Congratulations to everyone on the continued great losses. Hope it's a great day all around!

I find this whole size thing really fascinating. Just as a point of comparison, even though I'm a couple of inches taller, I'm just now fitting into the roomier pair of my size 18 jeans and have another pair that's still too tight. I totally agree about the body image thing, I can't imagine being in a size 8, for example (I'm pretty sure I never have). But at the same time, from what I can tell reading on this site, it seems to vary dramatically, even among people of the same height and weight. I don't know if it's "frame size" or related to the amount of weight we've lost or what, but it seems odd.

Had my first way in today on Day 10, lost 16.4 lbs, and down 6 3/4 inches. yeah me!!!:carrot: lol Not really expecting much for next week since this was such a big loss, as long as the scale doesn't go up...bought some extra product today also, so I don't end up running out, unfortunately 2 of the items I wanted she was sold out of. Can you purchase any IP products on-line?

I know this is venturing out there, but since we are mentioning sizes of clothing, I will share this: I weigh 161, as of this morning. I wear a size 8. I am either 5'4 or 5'5, can't remember. My Mom is taller than I am, 5'7, weighs 154, as of this morning. She can fit in some size 10's, but not the brand of jeans I just bought. (She bought some the same night, is taking hers back) She mainly wears 12's. My sister is also 5'7, weighs in the 140's and is in a size 10. My sister is on IP, my mom is doing alternatives. Sandra, you may be like I am. I look smaller than I weigh. I wear clothes smaller than what I should, considering what I weigh. My coach can't believe I weigh what I do. When I got married 12 years ago, I weighed 160 and wore a size 6. I used to laugh when the nurses weighed me at the dr's office. They would just keep sliding that little thing to the right and then they would have to move the big one to 150 and they would just look at me, look back at the number and say, "I would have never figured you for over 150." Happened every time with different nurses! I don't understand it. I have always weighed more than people the same size as I am. Sometimes, considerably more. I used to think everyone lied, because some women do, but I know that's not true all the time.

hey everyone! congrats on good weigh ins and more inches lost! i had my weigh in today (one day early) and i'm down 2 lbs. :carrot: that makes me 20 pounds and 15 inches down since i started this thing 6 weeks ago :D LOVE this program.
I was SO busy running around today that i couldn't stop at the store on the way home and it was getting a little late. i like to stay on my same food routine since my body is used to it now. i like to have dinner no later than 6 and it was already after 7 when i got home. so i searched the fridge and grabbed about 3 oz of leftover chicken and 2 eggs for my protein...then stir fried some broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, and green pepper...added it all together with some soy sauce and OMG it was sooooooooooo good. i was thinking that dinner would kinda suck tonight since i didn't go to the store and i was in a rush to get something to eat. LUCKY for me :) it's a new favorite for sure.
thanks for the tip mae. i'll definitely keep my eye out for the SF peppermint syrup. i have a bit of an obsession with chocolate-peppermint combos. hope you all have a great night

The new ones he is selling do not list carbs. Bought enough of the IP products he had left to last about seven weeks (A real hit to take to the pocket but I should be in phrase 2 by then so I will look into subsitute products then)

Tmg1989,

I wonder if I will notice a difference as well. All I know right now is that I am sleeping less and getting up earlier, I have more energy and feel pretty good. It's probably a combination of the supplements and IP. I don't mind these vitamins, i just have a whole bottle of the other. I will let you know.
