Good Morning IPeeps,
Weigh in # 5 down 1.6. A little disappointing but it is still a loss. And I think it is low because of the side effect of this plan. I am drinking water and eating lettuce like crazy and nothing is helping. I have gotten some Miralax and have drank it for the past 2 days. Oh well, such is life. I know that some weeks are not going to be big loss weeks. And I am happy that I did have a loss and not a gain!!!! . It is all of you (besides the 20 pds lost so far) that keep me going on this plan. I know I can see this thru with the help of all the wonderful people on this forum. I do have to say that I am so proud of myself. We had our Sunday School Class Christmas party friday night. I went ahead and made me some Shrimp "Fried" Rice for dinner and ate it before we left. I made it thru the whole party without eating a thing. I cut up the dessers and got them ready to be plated. I sat at the bar in the kitchen, over looking all of that food and was not tempted one bit. :D There was a dessert there that I just love....Mountain Dew Apple Dumplins.....and any other time I would have said one won't hurt. But not this time. Two of the other girls told me that I just need to quit and wait til after the holidays to continue with this. I told them no, I have come to far to quit. I will beable to enjoy the food next year.

I hope those that still have to weigh in have a good loss and hope everyone has a great OP day! Congratulations on all the losses so far. Everyone is doing wonderfully.

I know how you feel about having a "small" loss...it can be disappointing, but I also try to feel proud of it because a loss is a loss. So, be proud and keep going! I weigh in tomorrow...fingers crossed!

Ugh...bad advice from those girls...good for you to keeping with it...I also have no desire to stop until I reach my goal(s). And, I certainly can't wait for the day I look fine in my clothes and can eat "normal" again!!!

Best wishes to you and keep up the great work!!!

Heya rissimo, chin up that means more will come off for next week. Whenever I was 'blue' over a WI I would check out other people's stats. We all don't have the GRAND -3 to -5 lbs every week. I once had a .2 loss. It will come just keep plugging away.

It's funny how people can actively sabotage the weight loss, sometimes it's actively and sometimes sub-consciously...either way it's interesting how people react. I like to analyse that when it happens because really it's about their perspective and world, not really mine or yours. Sometimes my inner conversation can go on for a while on this topic :D

Hope everyone has a great day!

Thanks guys. I am proud that it was a loss, and I know that I am going to have big loss weeks, low loss weeks and even no loss weeks. You guys are such great support. Ishbel, I'd love to hear some of your inner conversations on this matter.

Congratulations, Rissimo--you have to be proud of your dedication and tenacity! I had the 'side effect' problem on my first weigh in last week. This week, I am normal, so hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised at my WI today. I got some Magnesium Citrate at the drugstore and half a bottle worked in about 6 hours--and it really was working overtime the next morning! It's in a glass bottle and doesn't taste great, but I think you can handle it.
To echo what New Englander said, sometimes people don't think they have the will to make a big life change and so they expect that no one else does either. There are so many of us on this thread that are in the same boat as you and we're all rowing together :) Stay on course and do a cartwheel in your front lawn on New Year's Day because you are already 20% ahead of where you would be if you waited!

Thanks Someday, I thinks I'll stop and get a bottle on the way home. And I do love the way you put it, we are all in the same boat and that is why it is so awesome to have this forum with all the IPers, we know everyone is going thru the exact same thing we are, it may not be at the same time, but we all do. And we have each other to keep us chugging along, ecouraging, sympthizing, empathizing and cheering each other on. I am so glad I have each and everyone of you to go on this journey with. I don't think I could have done it alone. :D

Hey everybody! I haven't been on 3FC the past few days and it's been getting harder to stay OP. I have though, but it's been hard. I knew I loved reading everybody's posts and interacting, but I didn't realize that I really NEED it to stay OP!

Rissimo - Great victory at that party! I agree, it's not worth it to quit for the holidays. I made it through one holiday party that had TONS of yummy looking food, but I had my veggies and some apple cider tea with splenda and I was good! I always tell myself that I've had lots of great food in my life, but never had such amazing success at losing weight and being healthy.

Ishbel - I think about that stuff too. I've had to work through a lot of counseling to get to a place where I'm not sabotaging myself because "I don't deserve to lose weight" and crap like that. My mom inspired me to start IP, but she is frustrated by her small losses... but she cheats! With healthy foods, but still, the plan doesn't work unless you follow it! I'm hoping to talk to her this week about why she might be sabotaging herself.

SomedayBubblySomeday - That's so exciting! Finding clothes that fit now is such a motivator for me. I'm very happy for you!

I hope everyone has a wonderful OP day! I can't wait to weigh in on Thursday!

Good Morning IPers. I just want to say how proud of you all I am. Keep up the good work. I really like this diet as it changes the way you think about food without you really having to THINK about food.. I know I can live without all the stuff we are not allowed and even in maintenance I can still live without stuff even though we are allowed it, the appeal for it is just gone. I would love to tell you all that it gets easier in Maintenance but I am finding that it is work to stay in maintenance but if you don't you will gain weight back. I find the so much needed encouragement here and where I work that I can stay focused on the goal... it is now a life long goal but a goal still.

Have a great day everyone.

Thanks Wuv. I know that it is another pound gone FOREVER. I am happy with it, as I said, it could have been +1 and I am thankful that is wasn't. And I feel wonderful. I fell that I am smaller than I am. It feels so good to not have my acid reflux problems, or my IBS problems, and absolutely wonderful to beable to stand on my feet for long periods of time without them killing me and my lower back as well. I can't remember the last time I was able to say that!

Good morning everyone! Congrats on all of your continued success. A loss no matter how "small" we think it is is still a loss. Just think if we weren't OP what the scale would show! Mine kept getting bigger! Keep up the good work everyone. I hope you all have a great day! Raining here and pretty dreary. Ready for SNOW! I love it. I know, I'm weird. :)

A loss is a loss - and when you average out your pounds, you're at 4lbs a week...that's incredible! I never lost 4lbs a week on a diet before, haha! You're doing great!

...I had my second way in this morning. I thought for sure I sabotaged myself over this entire week - 4 Christmas parties, and a business dinner at 8pm last night (right before weigh in lol) ...I even ate food that was off plan (3 falafel balls on Friday because I forgot to pack dinner, and a salad with vinegrette dressing last night) ...but when I stepped on the scale today, I was down another 4lbs! That's incredible to me!

11.1 pounds in 2 weeks, and a handful of inches...I couldn't be happier :carrot:

Morning everyone. Congrats on SV and NSV today so far. Busy day here for me. We're renovating our basement so infloor heating and concrete pouring on the agenda today. Talk about stressful on top of all the holiday hoopla. So the kids and I are going to head into Edmonton and do some last minute more stressful shopping but I have my snacks and water all ready to go.
Hope everyone continues to have a fabulous day.

Oh my!!I don't know what would be more stressful. listening to the renos or trying to shop in Edmonton today! It was a zoo all over yesterday. I will definitely need to get a few things at the grocery store before the weekend and I am planning my attack. It doesn't help that we are not off school until Friday late afternoon either.

You will so enjoy the infloor heat in the basement floor.
Our kitty headed for the basement a month ago and only comes up to get fed. She loves stretching out on the heated floor.

:congrat: on your loss!! And another :congrat: on having the resolve to stick to it even when people were being less-than encouraging! You are doing wonderfully!! My WI's are always big, small, big, small...can't have Biggest Loser numbers every week!! LOL!! Keep up the good work!!

It's been a while since I've posted, but I have been reading the board almost daily. Been trying to get my Christmas shopping done so I've been running around like crazy all weekend. Then yesterday I had to bring my husband and my son to Dr's appointments. My husband and I got salads for lunch and I forgot my protein drink in the car and planned to drink it when we got back in the car, but I forgot and remembered two hours later! Ugh!! So I skipped it and didn't have all three proteins yesterday. Hopefully today my memory will be better because it's off to the races again in search of gifts!!:present:

I did have a great WI last Thursday...down another 4 lbs and feeling great!!

Wishing everyone the best of luck with WI's today and keep up the good work resisting temptations!! Have a great OP day!!:tree:

Hi everyone, not much new to report, still busy at work and at home.

Tried something new this morning, i didn't want to use my milk in my coffee cause i'm going to try to make mashed cauliflower tonight and i want to use the milk in that so i took black coffee and put almost half of my chocolate shake and it tasted just like a moka, it was very yummy! I'm going to get the WF chocolate syrup and try that in my coffee instead of the caramel one that i use everyday.

Have my christmas party on thursday and since we're 920, it was getting complicated for them to accomodate me so i told them i would bring my own dinner, which is better for me as i know what i'll eat. So i'll make a chicken breast and some veggies and they'll just have to reheat it. So no fear of having anything that isn't legit!

So true. I've had so many people tell me this is the hardest time of the year to start a diet (really? why? Is there going to be an easy time for me? I don't think so...), and last night I had someone try FIVE times to get me to have some pumpkin roll. His last attempt was "I won't let you come back and get a second piece, ok?" Sheesh.

I have to miss my WI today cause I am sicker than sick , lost my voice and everything:( Something viral, so there is no antibiotics for that. Anyways....lotsa hot herbal tea, hot lemon water. I am usually on 4 IP a day except weekends..I have 3. So while I'm sick I'll just have 3, I have some jello..so that will make my throat feel better. And I'll make some IP friendly chicken miracle noodle soup. I have sugar free losenges and sugar and alcohol free cough syrup. And a couple days off work. So I should be set.

And I think it is low because of the side effect of this plan. I am drinking water and eating lettuce like crazy and nothing is helping. I have gotten some Miralax and have drank it for the past 2 days.

Rissimo - I don't really like taking Miralax and other products like it because I usually get a bad rebound effect. So I was doing the extra lettuce and water routine as well. Then I happened upon Celestial Seasonings LaxaTea in the tea section of the grocery store. Figured it wouldn't kill me to try :D and so I bought some. Even though the box suggested that 1 cup before bed would basically get things moving by morning, I had a cup at about 2pm (I was willing to have a 2nd cup before bed if the 1st didn't work.). By 8:30 that night everything was back to normal.

I have only had to use the tea once in the last 3 weeks. To keep my system happy, nearly every morning I have also added 2 tablespoons of lemon juice & a dash of Truvia to roughly 8oz of water - heated in the microwave for a minute. My coach approved the hot lemon water idea.

Hi Everyone
Just got back from WI #7 today as I missed last week being sick and all. I was down 1.4lbs and another 1" loss overall. Which is very small for inch loss but I was on antibiotics and guzzling cough syrup so go figure, literally, go FIGURE. LOL.
Hope everyone had a great weigh in today and tomorrow. Good luck to all and great losses for everyone that I read already.
Merry Christmas to all and if I don't check in I will after the Christmas family are gone. Have a great one.

Hi All,

Congratulations to everyone here! I am so happy for you, JellyMae, Ishbel & Wuv for hitting triple digits! (I know it's a little early JellyMae, but you're gonna do it in a few days anyway).

I had WI#2 today, down 3.5lbs for a total of 8.5lbs in 2 weeks. I also lost 2.75 inches, including 1.25 in my chest (yay wedding dress! another 3.75 to go!) So, I am happy. Now, I am hoping that I will start feeling it more in my clothes this week. I am on track for losing 15lbs by Jan 7, so that is the goal I am setting. If I make it, great--if not, it won't crush me. I know it will happen. Then on to the next goal :) Have a great evening! I'm proud of us all!!!!

...I had my second way in this morning.

Way to go sarahmayhem!! Seems like we have a few similarities, I am also in my second week, and i am also 6 ft tall. My second weigh in is tomorrow, I think I have put off this diet for so long because it is easier to carry/hide extra weight, and people tend to focus on my height and not my weight, but I know how much I weigh and how hard it is on my knees and back. I just want to feel good again!

The IP way seems to allow for quick recovery after occasional off-program "experiments"

Cheers and congrats to all of you having successful weigh ins!

Hang in there, hope you feel better before the holidays!
