Good Morning Chicks!

Very busy Saturday and Sunday.....but productive. Got everything done on my list that can't be done when the darned workers are here. I truly hope they are going to be completely done this week. My wrapping is all done and packaged to go out on Christmas day and after.

Oddly enough, my eating is good. I already have 10 pounds back and I'm trying not to have it be more. I really want to indulge Saturday through Monday so I feel like I really need to be extra good until then.

Today is PT and hair for me. I'm so looking forward to sitting in the Stylist's chair like a spoiled creature and not thinking about what is going on here.

I simply cannot believe that this is Christmas week!

Vickie, enjoy your pampering. Hopefully, the workers will be out of your house soon.

We had a nice afternoon with some family members, including the three gkids, over to decorate the tree and eat granddaddy's famous chili and Nana's famous chocolate cake. I was good about the cake but the leftovers are calling loudly. I'll ignore them as best I can.

I began the day by having some skin lesions burned off. Nothing serious, but it certainly woke me up  I'll be off to the gym later today.

I think that my attitude is good about eating and the holidays and my indulgences are over. Everyone's schedule is such that we probably won't be having a big meal and we can be quiet at home. We'll spend Christmas Eve with the grandkids, and Christmas morning I'll run around town to see the great nieces and nephews open presents.

We've been having family discussions about different traditions, trying to find what suits us best. I know that I am happy when the kids decorate the tree and that might suit my needs for the season.

ps: the posts about the ads seem to have been removed...don't know why..

Good Morning Ladies:)

Going to be short as I have lots of things to do before I leave for NY tomorrow morning.

I went to the movies with Mary and we saw The Chipmunks Chipwrecked,it was cute, but my DD told me that the Grandchildren want to see it with me, Told her I will go again with them.

Going to figure out how to balance my suit case & my hand luggage with the gifts I have to pack.TG I don't have to bring my cane as the cortisone is working so nicely I have no pain in my hip.

Just heard on the Radio that Our town was under attract and two houses were shot at, the news is breaking It seems like a woman inheriting some property was shot back in 2005,as her stepsons didn't like that decision,so he hired a hit man. Now today hit man is be indicted to tell the police who told him to kill her.Its scary to believe a small town like ours have killers loose. We never had anything like that happen before in the 15 years I have been living here.

Have to go,so I'm here to wish you a :tree:MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HANUKKAH:tree: and I see you in the New Year.

Hugs Maryann

Maryann, sounds like it's a good time for you to get out of Dodge. Till then--keep dodging.

Rhonda, decorating the tree sounds like a lot of fun.

Vickie, are those guys going to be out by this weekend? I hope so. We went through the same type stuff when we had our porches built a few years back. But now we're loving our porches and wouldn't take for them.

The granddaughters and I shopped for over 6 hours today. They got some cute clothes. I'm going to wrap them now and we'll give them to them at the family tree. Have any of you ever shopped at Wet Seal and Rue 21? That's where we were most of the afternoon. Cute, trendy clothes! Of coursee, they had nothing that would work for me.

Good Morning Chicks! The granite vanity is coming today....finally. It's over 8 feet long and I have no idea how they are going to get it up my 3 steps and around a corner. I'll be hiding someplace where I can't see or here them. There is some plumbing and electric and grouting left and then some touch up drywall and painting. If they can get the plumber and electrician back here quickly, they should be out of here by Thursday. I REALLY need to be baking cookies but I'm not going to start them today until they leave. I have to get about 8 dozen cookies made before Saturday and I feel like I'm running out of time. Oh well.

Surprisingly enough, my eating is still pretty good.

Are you all done for the holidays?

Tejas

Well, I need to wrap presents, make sure we have enough stuff for the grandkids, visit a great nephew who is only 10 months old, etc.

I haven't told you but I'm part of a group of three writing a paper on the health effects of fracking because we live on top of the Barnett Shale and the city is considering new regulations. Our paper is due today!! It's almost ready.

I have appointment with the rheumatologist on the 30th. I'm eager to hear what she has to say.

Other than that, all is well.

Vickie, I want some cookies. I'm having some problems staying sf but so far so good. I do miss Christmas cookies, though. My favorite is sugar cookies/icing. I keep telling myself, "I've had them before and I know what they taste like." Then I start thinking of fudge. (I know what it tastes like, too.) So far so good.

I hope your guys are finished and gone Thursday.

Rhonda, have ya'll been having earthquakes like Cleburne? Good for you for taking a stand. I hope you get a good report the 30th.

I am exhausted today from the marathon (for me that is) shopping trip yesterday. We had a great time, but I feel like I'm half asleep today. I'm heading out in a few for a mani/pedi. I'm postponing shopping for gift wrap till tomorrow.

Yeah Vickie. Is it installed or just at your home? I loved baking Christmas cookies. Been quite a few year though.

Rhonda good luck with dr. Hope you get a good report.

Sandra, when my daughter and I go shopping, we leave in morning and get home sometimes after midnight. We are gone so long, we eat lunch and dinner, lol.

We've been walking twice a day. Haven't lost a single pound, but we are not giving up. Our eating is good too.

Sorry I missed Maryann. I know she will have a good time, especially since her hip pain is gone.

It's installed as are the sinks. It looks beautiful, but darker than we remembered. It's dreary here though and we haven't seen it in natural light. I'm forcing myself to bake. I'm running out of time.

Good Morning Chicks!

You're right, Sloan. Besides the "real" reason, I have tons to be grateful for. I know this is a blip on the radar.

I'm making cookie dough to chill while I go to my foot doctor appointment. Worker is at least back here today though he says he's really sick. He plans to have the job done tomorrow. Cleaning lady is due at noon so I hope they are done so she can clean good for us since I'm SO allergic to dust. Otherwise poor Jim will have to do it.

So I'll be baking later with workers going back and forth. It can't be helped. I need some cookies to take with me to our favorite waitress for Christmas!

Rhonda, I hope you're feeling better.

Pam, kudos for walking twice a day. I seem to be stuck at the computer. Pam, we took a lunch break at Cracker Barrel. (Played a little cheeckers, too.)

I baked ham/cheese/onion biscuits this morning. We delivered them to friends around here. Now we're just hanging out and may do some shooting in a few minutes. Life is good.

Hey girls !!!

I am enjoying my boys being home and plan to finish my shopping tomorrow and then cook all the fun things Friday & Saturday.

I don't know if I told you that my well was acting up but I finally got running water yesterday. Makes me appreciate the simple things !!

I had a hard time when we pulled out decorations and got to all the sweet ornaments Robin had given me . On our first Christmas he gave me a Hersheys Kiss ornament for our fist kiss . That kiss was under the mistletoe. I never asked him if he planned it that way or if it just happened. His stocking caught me off guard. Too sad to hang or not hang so we aren't doing stockings this year. I will just fill the kid's Christmas Eve..

Hope everyone has a safe & wonderful Christmas.

Good Morning Chicks! This should be the last day for the bathroom but it's probably going to be the last before the punch list. I am so sick of them! Today is the 20th work day. I've got PT, Jim has a haircut and grocery errands, and I'm baking the last 5 batches of cookies. We did manage to get out for date night last night but it was 2 hours later than normal. We were starving and ate poorly.

Nancy, honey, my heart goes out to you! Good for your boys for being home with you where they needed to be this year.

Rhonda, I hope you're feeling better. I had a bad night with my allergies. Or maybe I'm getting THE cold!

Sandra, Sloan, Pam....hugs to you all!

Hello chicks. Everyone ready for Christmas? We were going to go home to KY, but I really dread that drive and our weather has been gorgeous, so we are staying put. I think everyone will come here next year. Yeah!!! I bought a small spiral ham but won't add the glaze. We are still walking twice a day but I haven't lost a single pound. Can't understand why.

Rhonda, we are all drooling over your meatballs. How were they?

Vickie, it took us a long time to complete our master bath. At least a good month, but we did it ourselves. Mostly just my husband, so no excuse for a full crew to take that long.

Nancy, I forgot about your boys having to decide whether to stay home or go with their grandparents. Glad they chose you. You did not need to be alone.

Sandra, I like Cracker Barrel. We have one not too far away.

sloanie, you ready for Christmas? When are you starting core?

Pam, kudos on the walking. I dug out my Leslie Sansone videos yesterday. (Haven't used them yet.)

Rhonda, we got a Christmas letter/photor from your grands today. They are adorable.

I'm baking some sf cookies right now. I found a very simple recipe online. I hope they're good.

Sandra, aren't those kids the cutest!!! We'll spend tomorrow evening with them.

Pam, I hate to tell you but walking at a strolling pace will not take off the weight. But, it's good for your bones, keep on walking.

I don't know if this link will come up, or if the administrators will leave it or not, but it's the group dancing....

Rhonda, we are not strolling. I think my husband has shin splints, lol. He is the one lagging behind. We are walking at a good pace, although I could walk a lot faster. He is complaining that the front of his legs hurts, below the knee. He also keeps telling me I'm practically running. Ummm, no, not hardly. We are getting in at least an hour a day.

Off to watch your video.

You guys are something to remember the Christmas trip issue..Yes they are all here and its awesome.

But guess what..today my oldest son spiked a 103 fever with severe headache.
His Dr wanted him checked out at the ER to rule out meningitus. He was neg for flu so far. So here I sit tonight in the same ER where Robin and I were last year on Dec 19th when we rushed here & got his diagnosis the next day. But strangely I am okay & I am sure my son will be fine

I am determined to let nothing keep me from thinking about Christ's birth.
My cooking may go undone, I may be in the last place I would like to be tonight, my shopping never got completed , and my house is a mess but it's still my savior's birthday..

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I hope you all are having the Christmas you're wanting. We're enjoying watching birds feeding this morning while a light drizzle falls. In a bit we're going out to lunch at our favorite local spot then will visit folks in the surrounding communities. Our family gathering is tentatively tomorrow but will most likely be Tuesday. I know why I gain so much during Christmas. Can't isolate the celebration to one day. I'm almost tired of eating already.

Rhonda, I bookmarked the dance video. You are extremely talented and graceful. I thought you were the best. And I'm not being prejudiced.

Pam, just keep moving. I need to do the same.

Ems, what are you doing for Christmas?

Nancy, I was wondering about the trip, also, but was hesitant to ask. I'm glad they are with you. Let us know how your son is. I hope they get his fever down quickly and ya'll can enjoy yourselves.

Vickie, is your remodeling finished? How about the cookies? I love reading about your traditions. Makes me smile.

Nancy, I hope all is better this morning.

Pam, I don't know why I assumed strolling! :nono: But, I do believe you've got to do about 3 mph to have much effect. It sounds like you can but that you're wearing out your hubby!!

Sandra, I'm glad you enjoyed the video of the dance. I will post others after Christmas.

We're going to Grandkids tonight, with other family visiting here and there. There have been some bumps along the way, trying to organize disorganized people who have lots of obligations, but it's working out fine.

The bluejays, doves, cardinals and chickadees are enjoying their food this morning.

Vickie, I hope all is well. I can smell those cookies all the way down here

pam920

:han::present::tree: I suppose everyone is ready for the big day tomorrow.

Rhonda, loved watching the video. I agree with Sandra, you were the best one. I think we are walking around 3 mph but when I walked by myself, I tried to keep a 4 mph pace. I'm sure we will see results eventually. It just takes so long when we get older.

Nancy, praying your son is okay. My granddaughter had an MRI and still hasn't been told the results. They had her on meds for the fluid pressure on the brain, but they are not agreeing with her and she can't seem to get with the dr. to change them. Idiots. She still is getting the headaches. I told her to go to his office and demand to see him.

I'm missing the kids. Thankfully they are coming here next year. We will be alone. My sis and her husband stopped by and brought gifts.

Vickie, I'll take a few of those cookies. I'm thinking about making the SBD peanut and jelly cookies for us. I used to make a variety of cookies but haven't done so in a couple years.

Sandra, enjoy the good food. Christmas only comes once a year.
