* WAYS TO SOOTHE WITHOUT FOOD *

Someone was asking in another thread about how we could deal with stress and change in our lives -- instead of using food. I've been working on a thread in the Faith Forum called "Emotional Eating: How to Heal" where I included this post yesterday about using "REAL COMFORTS" to deal with these issues.

This is my own personal list -- what would you add to it? What do you do when you are stressed out and you need to relax?

-- listening to calming music; I got a new cd called "Vitality"
by Brewed Moods; it is so peaceful and soothing ...

-- reading good books

-- hugs from my furry baby (spouse & family & friends)

-- talking & sharing with caring people

-- rocking in my rocking chair

-- exercise (that you enjoy)

-- journalling (anything)

-- writing: I write songs and poems

-- reading the bible

-- being grateful, thankful, and praizing GOD

-- reciting mantras & affirmations

-- sleeping or napping

-- swimming

-- sunbathing

-- flowers

-- bird-watching (our hobby)
