Refreshing and delicious... zero calories... no sugar or artificial sweeteners... just purified water, mint grown without pesticides in the Yakima Valley... and a hint of flavor essence. No, this is not a commercial... I just found a product I LOVE and which is great at curbing my appetite.

Metromint Water comes in several flavors. It is 2:30 AM and I am drinking a bottle of my favorite... Chocolatemint which has just a hint of cocoa essense along with peppermint. Fantastic.

My only frustration with it is that most of the flavors do not say if they are peppermint (YUM) or spearmint (UGH) so I have sampled the ones that are available in the stores here. Unfortunately both the orange and lemon are spearmint.

If you can't find it in your store you can order it online from their website which I am not allowed to post but if you use the obvious... name of the product.... and add the dot com you will get it. :)

I would love to know if anyone else has tried it and what you think

I LOVE metromint! I like peppermint and spearmint, so there's not a bad flavor in the bunch for me. Have you tried cherrymint? So good! I just wish it wasn't so darn expensive. It's just an occasional treat for me, mostly in the summer.

I have tried adding mint extract to plain water - haven't figured out the right proportion yet. I keep making it WAY too minty.

I have not been able to find cherrymint. Is it spearmint or peppermint?

Yes it is expensive but it helps keep me in line so I buy it :)

And yes I have thought about making my own too with the mint

In summertime, I grow a pot of mint out on my deck - it's nearly impossible to kill and grows like crazy. Every night before bed, I take a big sun tea jar of filtered water, rub 10 or so mint leaves between my fingers to get them a little crushed, and stick them in. Refrigerate overnight, and in the morning, I have something very similar to the Metromint ready to go. I love it when it's hot outside!

Sounds wonderful, Mandalinn. After I left Central Market today I was kicking myself for not buying some dried peppermint leaves. I was thinking I could boil them a bit and drain and have some strong mint to add to the water. Squeeze a bit of lemon, orange or lime in it.....

I love mint in both water and iced tea in the summertime. And, mint really is easy to grow.

Recently I learned something else to do to flavor water. I was in Edinburgh, Scotland and was served a clear pitcher of water with a couple of slices of cucumber in it. It was a warm and sunny day and the cucumber was very pretty and I couldn't believe how those two slices changed the flavor of the water. It was fresh and herbal-ly tasting. Really wonderful. I've tried it here at home and it is just as good here. Just something different and an easy pick-me-up at the same time.

I'm sure I read that mint is an appetite suppressant.
