COFFEE'S ON! Time to wake up! But first, pour yourself a cup and let's chat a bit. :coffee:
I can hear Ruthie rattling around upstairs, so she should be down soon. We had the perfect day yesterday, but were both pretty tuckered out last night. And it was so nice that Jiffypop drove down from northern NJ to spend the day with us.
Ruth and I are going over to the diner for breakfast a little later, and Monica and Carley are coming out and spending the night. Carley and Ruth have a special bond, and Carley insisted she had to spend more time with Ruthie before she headed back to Canada. :)
So who's up and needs a cup? :coffee2:

Good morning Cottage :coffee2: and hugs to you and Ruth. Sounds like a fun day yesterday.
Another lovely, quiet day at home for us. I've got plenty of chores backlogged so no problem keeping busy if I can find any motivation ;) I'm thinking of dehydrating some winter squash. I've read that it makes great soup that way. Might be nice for an occasional winter treat.
Yesterday I actually fired up the DVD player and did a whole hour of yoga. I can feel it this morning, definitely a good idea. Now to keep it up!
Now for more coffee.

Good morning!
My hands are so dry from all the washing and hand sanitizing as I try my darnedest not to catch my teen's strep (since I leave for vacation later this week). He slept most of yesterday and will officially be NON-contagious at 11:00am today, so I suspect he'll be of with friends at 11:01 if he feels well enough.
DS1 flies back east today; we'll leave for the airport around noon. I told him I start his laundry when I got up so he could have all clean clothes to pack so I need to get going on that but thought the washer might wake DH since our bedroom is right above. I'm selfishly enjoying the quiet of the house to myself for a bit. And the teen wants me to patch a pair of his jeans but they look beyond repair. He leaves tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. It's felt like the weekend here for days!

Good Morning, I will take a cup of coffee. Sounds good.
Ruth and Cottage, so glad your visit is going good. Sounds relaxing.
Cyndi, how do you dehydrate winter squash, do you use an electric dehydrator. Would pumpkin work, I still have a few leftover from the garden?
Karen, hope your son is feeling better. And you get to rest alittile before your vacation. I agree, this has been a long weekend, I like it.
Today is a Sew Day for me, it is raining here, so will work on a Christmas project and embroidered lace ornaments. My DH will work on a small scale jet engine that he builds from scatch. Picture this, we both sit at oppisite ends of the kitchen table and work on our hobbies. (we act so old sometimes, but cute!)
Everyone have a great day.

Hey Chickadee  Yes, I have an electric dehydrator. I'm going to experiment with 2 methods. I'll puree some and use the leather trays and I'll make 1" thick slices with some and dry as chunks. I've seen recommendations to dry and powder then just use by the cup for soups. Might store some that way too :)
Obviously we have the same hobby thing going on here. DW is usually working on her photos (calendar and new website this week) and I'm drying stuff.

Hey guys! Checking in back from vacation. We had a wonderful time, but I am always so wracked with guilt when we leave my parents. It's going to take me a couple of days to get over that. But otherwise we had a wonderful time and I was totally not on plan, but am now preparing to jump right back in. I need to get some stuff and prepare some food, but I'm in good shape. One good thing is that I exercised most days while away; through the end of the year I'm really going to focus on that.
On tap for today is a walk this am, some errands, then lunch and a playground date with friends, then we'll decorate the house for Christmas. We have a friend coming over later, which should be fun. Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning, chicks! I hope you've had a lovely holiday. We had a wonderful and somewhat healthy Thanksgiving dinner at my mom's house. Yesterday was very nice - my DH took me out to lunch and the kids cleaned the house while we were out - woo-hoo! Today I'm going to play with my new tablet, maybe get out some Christmas decorations, and boil up this turkey carcass and make some soup. Eating has not been too good and I'm craving something light and healthy for dinner. I've been taking care of a friend's pets while she's away, and very happy they'll be home this afternoon. They've got a dog, 2 cats, and a bearded dragon lizard, and it's a lot of work! At least I've been getting my exercise walking the dog.
Cyndi, I was thinking of doing my yoga dvd today. I'm feeling old and achey and a good stretch would probably help a lot.
Ruth and cottage, enjoy your day together - wish I could be there too!
Everyone have a great Saturday.

Good morning ladies!
Glad to hear everyone seems to have some sort of plan for today. I'm going to The Christmas Tree shop with my daughters a little later. We just need some tags for presents, but I'm sure I'll find other things too cute to pass up.
Off to eat some turkey and brussel sprouts.
Enjoy your day!!!!

Good morning, ladies...just popping in to say hello. I've been missing the past few days due to the holidays. Had a nice Thanksgiving on Thursday but ate way too much. Friday I got up bright and early and headed up to Atlanta w/ my bestfriend to meet up w/ a couple of members of the other forum I post on. We had a nice lunch w/ them and hung out for a little while before heading back home. Today was my dad's side of the family's Thanksgiving dinner, so we went over there for a little while (a few minutes late, though, b/c the GA/GA Tech game wasn't over yet, LOL). Now I'm home relaxing and trying to find something worth a crap to watch on TV...so far, no luck.
So how are you lovely ladies, doing??? Anybody get any good Black Friday deals??? I got 3 pairs of jeans, a dress shirt, and 2 pairs of pants for my nephew at Old Navy for a total of $66. I'm officially in a size 20 now...down from a VERY tight 28, LOL I can't wait to get into the teens...it'll be the first time since middle school that my jean size has had a 1 in front of it, LOL

It's a sad Sunday morning here, as The Great White North is calling for Ruth to migrate home today. :( I sure wished she lived closer, as we always have such a good time together, and we never run out of things to talk about, lol. We've had perfect weather for her visit, and it looks like it will be decent for her drive home today, too. :)
I'll be back later, but Ruthie and I are going to sit and enjoy our coffee and one more chat before she leaves.

Good Morning:sunny:
Enjoy your coffee, Linda and Ruth! I, too, wish there weren't so many miles between us all!
I got called in to work so I'm tidying the house since there's still the slight possiblity I could have 10 for dinner upon my arrival home.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone!

My son felt so improved after his first 24 hours on antibiotics that he had a party last night. The doorbell just kept ringing and the teens just kept coming! DS heads back to LA this afternoon
I seem to have done something to my calf like maybe a small muscle tear. It bothers me to walk. I felt no moment of "popping" or acute pain like when I tore it years ago so I'm not sure if that is what is going on or not. The worst thing about this is that I leave on Friday for a very physically active vacation. I guess I should skip cardio today and see if things improve. The timing is horrible! And I really need to burn of those Thanksgiving calories :(

Good Morning Everyone.
Karen sorry to hear about your leg, take it easy today. Glad your son is better.
Natasha, congrats on the jean size and your purchases. It must feel good to see the change in your body in clothing sizes.
Cottage and Ruth, so glad your visit went well, sorry to see it end.
Today I feel dumpy, don't know why, don't even want to dare do my weekly weigh in, for some reason I feel huge (but I have been on plan). Guess, I will bite the bullet and just do it. What is the worse that could happen!
I think and I almost hate to say it, too many days at home, need to get out in the world.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Hey all,
Sunday morning here and it's the usual except I have to actually lead one of the Sunday School programs today rather than just assist, and I'm a little apprehensive about it. After church I have SO much to do to catch up on things its a little scary, but I'll deal (or I'll have to). I have a lot of unpacking to do, a lot of laundry, food to prepare for the week, mentally get my head back in the groove and start thinking about Christmas too at the same time!! AAArg!
Hope everyone has a great day...I'll pop back in later for sure.

I'm sipping my coffee and finishing my to-do list for today and it's frightening. I had a great time goofing off the last few days, now it's time to pay the piper. We had omelets for dinner last night, so I've still got my turkey stock and leftover turkey to make soup for dinner tonight, so that'll be quick and easy. I will definitely make some time for a walk and/or yoga. Off now to check out the Cyber Monday deals and see if I can make a big dent in this Christmas list. Safe travels to Ruth!

good morning,
sipping my coffee too. I had trouble logging in one day and then the day got away from me. I feel like I am so busy but really not accomplishing alot.
Ruth and Cottage - glad you had such a wonderful time. Hope Ruth's trip back home is swift and safe. Its raining up here in central Ontario but her area might not be affected.
Debbie - have a good day. Wow, a possiblity of 10 people at supper and you are working today, hope DH is in the kitchen.
Karen - hope your injury is not serious. Love having them home but its great to see them go too.
Chickadee - take the plunge and weigh in, you might be surprised.
McK - all I have to say is wow to your day.
Schmoodle - A walk or yoga is great. Hope you accomplish lots today.
take care

Good Morning :coffee2: I suddenly realized I never said hello :) I've been here and caught up but kept getting distracted. The sun is finally burning off the fog and it looks like a lovely day around here. DW and I are going out for a short walk after lunch. Other than that it's chores and one more day of relaxing for us.
Schmoodle - I finally dragged a yoga DVD out the other night. It just about killed me but it was good :) Now I'm playing with a Wii Dance thing for a few days.

Morning,
I am grateful to be alive! DW, while driving, couldn't see (burning eye thing) and we were in the middle lane on the NJ Turnpike - it was scary and I had to drive from the passenger seat and pull off to the side of the road. It was nuts.
We got home late, slept in and I have to go food shopping/meal plan. It is such a nice day outside today - too bad we wasted it!
Hope you all had a great weekend.

My MIL gave me a Zumba set she bought in Jan and never used. And I had been playing Wii Just Dance 2. Not sure I like the Zumba - I feel kind of dumb. But I really felt it in my core!

I rented the original Just Dance. It's fun but there are only about 6-7 songs I can stand so it would definitely get old. I'm going to try 2 next weekend. I've been thinking about the Zumba, check-in after you've had some time with it and let me know what you think?

We got home to Beautiful Remlap around 3:00 this afternoon. It was such a great visit with the family in Louisiana. I ate too much, but it was all stuff I can't even buy in Alabama. I did say NO to donuts. :D I took my sister's Jazzercise class one morning. Oh, how I love and miss Jazzercise. We also took a couple of nice walks. I'll see what the scale says in the morning.
Several of us took a Painting with a Twist class. I painted a Blue Dog (Rodrigue). It was so much fun! Who knew I could paint!
It will feel good to get back to healthy eating. Christmas shouldn't be the eating orgy Thanksgiving was...

Home again. Home again. Rig-a-jig-jig! After a couple of rigs and jags - those turnpikes are tricky. The need signs that say "Turn here, Ruthie." Anyhow, I did it and did not get completely lost. I want a t-shirt that says I drove the Penn Turnpike! A couple of scary bits including a truck that got it closed after he slopped driveway sealant all over it and caused the 476 South to be closed! And so it goes.
Had an absolutely wonderful fun and relaxing time with Linda and her family. You Americans sure know how to celebrate the season.
Right now I have a Scotch, the water is heating for a hot soak, I don't need supper since I must confess I had some MickeyD mid-afternoon. (Yes, it still tastes the same - I don't think I've had it since 1998!)
All I can say is if you get a chance to meet another 3FC in real life, don't hesitate! I have many friends I've met on here although Linda (Cottage) is special.
Night all. I hope your holiday weekend was as wonderful as mine.
(By the way, I bought a Keurig as a Santa present to me!)
